Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're listening to the Jonesy and Demander podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Let me get to this. This is something that I've
seen a lot of recently on socials and it's on
the TV as well. If you heard a sentence that
started like this.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
A TikTok user has pointed out the unique way you
can tell when someone is Australian.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
What would you think would be the answer? What's a
unique way you can tell if someone's in Australian? For example,
maybe wearing white thongs at a wedding when you're the bride, slatch.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Hat, corksay. Because we all walk around Southern cross tattoo.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
There are stereotypes, but here's an actual indication that you
are Australian.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
It seems we have a unique habit of failing to
peel off the energy rating labels on appliances in our households.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
This has blown the minds of people from overseas, and
I didn't realize that not everyone did this. I've still
got the stickers on mine. Have you got the stickers
on yours? You know the energy stickers? These they're mandatory.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
On a plime washing machine there is and on the dryer.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
There might be on your love there might be one
on your loo loo. A lot of stickers are at
water information on your loop.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
On the cistern.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
That ping pong ball your wife still puts in to
make sure you don't spray everywhere. You know, the trick
you do when kids are learning to be toilet trained.
For boys, you put a ping pong ball in the
loose in the toilet so they can aim at it.
You don't put it in the system. You put it
in the in the water. I've never heard of that before,
haven't you.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
No?

Speaker 3 (01:24):
And then what happens, well.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
The kids, Well, it's in there when kids are toilet.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Okay, what about when the other situations happen?

Speaker 2 (01:33):
I'm not sure.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Okay, have we thought this through?

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Well, that was a toilet training technique you take with
your kids. No, I didn't know.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Don't perpetuate this stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
That's people do it.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
Yeah, people will do it because people are stupid. Now
we're gonna have trouble because people have blocked up their duney.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
With ping pong balls.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Anyway, a lot of Australians and I think I might
have been one of them. I think it's illegal to
remove the stickers. These are the stickers are to the
energy rating, to the energy efficiency, et cetera. Because I
thought maybe it nullified your warranty or something. I thought
you had to leave it on. Apparently, no, we're the
only people who leave them on, and surveys have shown

(02:12):
that people all thought they had to leave them on.
It's like we always thought that. Our mum said it's
illegal to leave the interior carlid on when the car's going.
Even now you only do it fleeting if we really quick,
it's illegal. It's illegal. So apparently if you want, if
you want to, you can take.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Off, but they're very hard to get off.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Some of them do and then particularly it's in a
laundry or the lint just get stuck.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
I take them off in the shop. Hey, this thing's
already been used.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Why sir are you carrying a ping pong ball.
