some of the most iconic hits Australia has ever known,
and the very album featuring them, Waiting for the Day,
has been given a makeover. It is now called Waiting
for the Day Artist Sessions. To tell us what those
sessions are, please welcome the stars themselves of Bachelor Girl,

One is Bachelor and one is Girl.

Speaker 4 (00:47):
Hey, we don't have to give you the crash course
on what where the band name comes?

Speaker 3 (00:51):
You know, I did know it, I know it, but
over the time I've forgotten.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
To be honest, I looked up Spinster in the thesaurus
and it had Bachelor Girl. Because the place that we
sort of wrote from and still do is that independent
girl about town, you know, emancipated chick.

Speaker 5 (01:09):
Spinster would isn't it not as sexy?

Speaker 3 (01:12):
No, So we went with a good band name.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
It's like women over a certain age and now traditionally
were called Krone and that was never a derogatory word.
But wow, be terrible to call someone a kron Wow,
it's not derogatory.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
It's nice. It's it's a term of endearment. But you
guys must be so pleased to know I've been doing
this for so long.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
I remember when our Buses and Trains came out, and
I instantly remember thinking, what a great song to have.
It Still what, we play it quite regularly. I've played
it throughout my career.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
But it's one of the still the one most greater
straightian songs, isn't it Apparently?

Speaker 5 (01:49):
Apparently?

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (01:50):
I mean it stood the test of time.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
Somehow James nailed the the human condition, that is, you know,
the propensity to walk under certain public transports.

Speaker 5 (01:59):
Yeah, and self sales sabotage. But want to do it
all again?

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (02:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
Did you know at the time what an enduring hit
it would be?

Speaker 5 (02:07):
No?

Speaker 3 (02:07):
I thought it was weird.

Speaker 6 (02:10):
So I wrote the song and I had to show
it Titania and I said, I've written something weird. I
don't know if it's good weird or terrible weird. You
can let me know. And she liked it, and then
one person after another liked it and it's only in hindsight,
really that I understand that it is life affirming and
that's what people get out of it. It's why people like

the song, because by the end of the song they
feel better than they did at the start of the song.
It's kind of a medicine they don't know they're taking.

That's another song in itself, and with the artist sessions
of the songs, tell us about that? Tell us who's
joined you on the album?

Speaker 5 (02:48):
Okay, it's quite quite a list. Are you ready? I'm ready?

I think I have them off by heart. So we've
got Darren Hayes. Yep, We've got Shepherd, Jack Jones, Delta Gudram,

Emmanuel Ala Hooper. Wow, cheaper and now I need to

What about I love her?

She's a liedown. She's my favorite.

I did listen to you singing with Guys Abastian. That
is sensation.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
It takes you back to such a happy time, doesn't it?

Speaker 5 (03:41):
Fel that doesn't go there?

It's sort of like remember the year two thousand was
so good.

It was a good year at Sydney Olympics.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
Yeah, it just felt like everything was good.

Speaker 5 (03:51):
It was before September eleven, before the internet.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
You could bring all your stuff on a plane.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
It was keep your shoes on as you went through terminal.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
You could carry glass bottles around with you.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
You don't have a time brand and you could carry
a glass bottle.

I like it.

I find a good time.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
I like the fact that you guys here for the
Friday Fields sessions. So, James, you've brought a keyboard in,
which is a good thing.

Yes, Lucky, I didn't bring a guitar because I'm crap
at guitar.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
Okay, Lucky, I'm not playing for a piano player. I'm
a really good scene.

We've just we've set up the microphones and all the
