Dark Shore both novels about mysteries that happen at remote
parts and remote parts of the mystery.

Speaker 6 (01:32):
What is the mystery?

Speaker 7 (01:33):
Well, sometimes babies turn up and they think where light
come from? Yes, arrives in a boat. Another one a
woman turns up the fabulous kind of looking for emotional
psychological novels. They're both brilliant.

There's one in Tasmania as some quality and proper lighthouse.

before the dollar ultimately prevailed, the official currency of Australia

(06:26):
the dicome.

Speaker 7 (06:27):
Glad they went with the dollar. They're terrible.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
Oh my goodness, I got absolutely no idea.

Speaker 1 (06:37):

Speaker 7 (07:40):
Have you read There's a couple of books I've read,
The Light Between the Oceans and Wild Dark Shaw, both
of which are setting kind of around lighthouses in your
neck of the woods. Have you read either of those?

Speaker 1 (07:51):
I've watched the movie of the Lights Many.

Speaker 7 (07:53):
Ocean, wasn't it? It was good?

Speaker 6 (07:55):
Yeah, I quite enjoyed it. If you were on a lighthouse,
would you rather be there by yourself or with someone else?

Speaker 7 (08:04):
It depends who the other person is.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
A small confined just in case I didn't get along
with the other test.

Speaker 7 (08:11):
Unless it was Michael Fassbender who was in that not
in that film, or.

Speaker 5 (08:14):
You get some basket weaving and you whip yourself up
and Alexander what's his name, scars.

Speaker 7 (08:19):
Guard, Alexander scars Guard. I mean, if you're going to
be any novel that's going to be set in a lighthouse,
you know someone's going to go barking mad and it'll
probably be me. Question number three. In nineteen sixty three,
before the dollar ultimately prevailed, the official currency of Australia
was going to be changed from the pound to what

(08:39):
was it the Royal or the dincom the Royal? It
was the Royal. I'm glad we went with a dollar
in it.

Speaker 6 (08:45):
I would like the dinkm or dollar hedoes.

Speaker 7 (08:48):
Alex Trebek hosts the world record for the most game

Speaker 7 (08:59):
That's a lot, Alex Trebek.

Speaker 6 (09:02):

Speaker 7 (10:01):
I know that you can watch a film and you'll
remember all the details, and I'm not like you. So
I recently saw something about Grandpa Joe from the very
first tell me because I can barely remember. I know
he was bed ridden, like all the grandparents, how do
they go to the toilet?

Speaker 5 (10:20):
It was bedridden, but quite easily could sprout out of
bed on the whim of a golden ticket. So it
begs the question he was just a doll bludging, lazy
old coat.

Speaker 7 (10:31):
Well, that's the thing. I mean. Remind me of the story.
There's Charlie. He's in bed with all the other grandparents,
all of them together, with no toilet to be seen.
And the mom's the one that.

Speaker 6 (10:42):
Does as bucket's doing all the work.

Speaker 7 (10:44):
And so how comes she didn't get to win two
seconds one the golden ticket?

Speaker 5 (10:48):
Yeah, grandparents are lying in bed, toe to toe touch
other city in there.

Speaker 6 (10:55):
Yeah, and then Charlie wins the golden ticket.

Speaker 7 (10:58):
Why does he give it to his mum?

Speaker 9 (11:00):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (11:02):
Grandpa Jo springs into action. Rocket happened about? I haven't
done this in twenty here.

Speaker 7 (11:12):
We know, get a job, mug slagger. Well, the reason
I brought him to our attention is I saw a photo,
a close up photo of him when he's on the
tour with the little Willy Charlie.

Speaker 5 (11:25):
Sorry, Charlie Wellie, Wellie Wonka owned the factory.

Speaker 7 (11:29):
Charlie, Charlie was the kid.

Speaker 6 (11:31):
There was little Willy inside.

Speaker 7 (11:34):
Anyway, He's got his hands on Charlie's shoulders, yes, let
me show you a close up of his hands. He's
one of those guys who's got really long, pinky fingernails. No, well,
then why all of them like that, the long ones.
Either he's a drug addict or an old guitar player,
or is to creep. Choose your own to your own adventure.

(11:57):
But I know that a lot of people unhappy with
the lifestyle chosen by that is a blood job? Is
a blood job? Or is this woman likes to put
it ain't.

Speaker 11 (12:07):
Your big funky crust in their bed, acting like it
was something wrong with you. You could have took your
funky to work and helped Charlie's mama, but you chose
to lay your funky crust and nasty toe at that beat.
You had all the energy to go to the mother
chocolate factory with Charlie, but you couldn't get a part
time job to help.

Speaker 7 (12:24):
Miss Bucket out. You a whole and.

Speaker 11 (12:27):
You could have went and got some mother money. Why
is you making this little boy more responsible than you?
Get Get up off your big funk ass and go
get some money.

Speaker 7 (12:35):
Oh wait, who was the DoD dough?

Speaker 6 (12:37):
You a Charlie? That's what I thought on my Mama.

Speaker 11 (12:40):
If I was Charli, I would have put your old
funky as soon as I seen you had energy enough
to walk through the whole mother factory. Would have had
your something new working with them umbles like the.

Speaker 6 (12:50):
Peasant you are.

Speaker 11 (12:52):
But y'all drop your thoughts down below and let me
know what you think.

Speaker 6 (12:55):
About Grandpa Joe.

Speaker 11 (12:56):
He definitely got on my mother's nerves. By my.

Speaker 7 (13:02):
So those are her thoughts.

Speaker 5 (13:04):
There's a lot of Next week we dissect Chitty Chitty
paying Peejem Gold.

Speaker 6 (13:11):
It's Jones Demanda driving you home this Friday afternoon.

Speaker 7 (13:16):
The women in.

Speaker 13 (13:17):
Sydney Astralian termed Minus Brandt Webb and Todd Russell made
it to the top of the shaft that's kept them
prisoner for nearly two weeks.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Will you hurt?

Speaker 11 (13:32):
This man could be your weathered husband.

Speaker 6 (13:34):
Telling me dream. You know.

Speaker 5 (13:42):
Call me a nerd, but I'm excited about the Census.
I love stats, I live telemetry. I like looking back
at stuff. On August eleven, the Census is coming back.
Is not just to form people fill out every five years.
It's a deeper dive into understanding how we as Australians live.

Speaker 7 (14:00):
Yeah too, we are how our communities thrive, how they're changing,
and this is where policy is made, decisions are made,
so it's important we all fill it out.

Speaker 5 (14:08):
Yeah, it's like how much how big the ventilation shaft
will have to be on the metro if so many
people are.

Speaker 7 (14:13):
Traveling on Actually, you make a very good point.

Speaker 6 (14:15):
This is the stuff I love, and.

Speaker 7 (14:16):
This is the stuff we learned from the last census
in twenty twenty one. Do we give you some stats,
Give me.

Speaker 6 (14:21):
Some how many people? How many bods? In Australia.

Speaker 7 (14:25):
The population was twenty five point four million, The median
age was thirty eight, the average two point five people
per household. Yep, eighty percent of the students who were
studying were studying full time. This is just post COVID.

Speaker 6 (14:38):
Weren't we sort of into COVID?

Speaker 7 (14:39):
Well, we kind of was happening.

Speaker 6 (14:41):
What what else was happening?

Speaker 7 (14:43):
Lots of things were happening.

Speaker 6 (14:44):
What was in and what was out?

Speaker 7 (14:45):
Well, in twenty twenty one we had the rollout of
the COVID vaccine. So this was the beginning of us
managing COVID. That was in twenty twenty one. I'll tell
you what was out, Prince Harry and Meghan Markel. They seceded,
I guess from royal.

Speaker 6 (15:01):
Duties and aren't they loving that?

Speaker 7 (15:03):
And I'll tell you what we had a return of
benefit of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck rekindled their romance
twenty years after they split. And how are those two
cool kids going? In further relationship news, this was the
year that the Twin Flames got together. Oh, Megan Fox
and Machine Gun Kelly. Remember they were the most talked

(15:23):
about couple, known for their intense romance, matching up fits.

Speaker 5 (15:26):
Okay, musically putting on my DJ pants? What did you like?
Did you like in twenty one? Did you like Justin
Bieber and the kid LAROI?

Speaker 6 (15:35):
I liked?

Speaker 5 (15:37):
Or in twenty twenty one did you like Miley Cyrus
with the kid LAROI a piece of me?

Speaker 2 (15:45):
Now?

Speaker 7 (15:45):
I was a big year for the kid LaRoy was
a big year twenty twenty one, and looking back, there's
so many highlights from that year.

Speaker 5 (15:52):
We know so much about who we were and what
shaped us all thanks to the Census of twenty twenty one.

Speaker 7 (15:58):
So the Census, as we say, is a snapshot of
who we are. It's time to complete your census. Every
single answer matters in partnership with the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
You're listening to the Jonesy and Amanda podcast now a
by the miracle of recording and Amanda Amanda are two
great names.

Speaker 6 (16:20):
I'm not a scatter. That's the chemistry between them.

Speaker 7 (16:22):
But how much find your own business and shut your pie.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
I wish you were with your show.

Speaker 6 (16:27):
Good afternoon too. You're still celebrating national life.

Speaker 7 (16:30):
Are you still celebrating?

Speaker 1 (16:31):
You know?

Speaker 6 (16:31):
What about the inland lighthouses? Golban's lighthouse for example? Why
are they because it's so high they can see it
from the sea.

Speaker 7 (16:40):
Yeah, but but the isn't the point of a lighthouse
so that you don't knock into the shore.

Speaker 6 (16:47):
Because you can see it from the sea.

Speaker 7 (16:49):
But then you think, oh, look look where the shore is.
It's all that way over there, and then by then
book you've hit a giant marino.

Speaker 6 (16:55):
Yeah, actually, you do make a good point.

Speaker 7 (16:57):
There, shall I phone the people of gold let them
know you have to see you feel also, I have
just walked past. Is that the Client Experience department?

Speaker 6 (17:10):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (17:10):
Previously radio sales, the client Experience department. Every job title
now has a huge word salad the word.

Speaker 7 (17:18):
Salad department, and they have something new written on the whiteboard,
or rather on the whiteboard rather, I walked past and
I sniffed the text, hung around there for some time
until they told me to leave.

Speaker 6 (17:30):
That would explain the little natty mustage you have.

Speaker 7 (17:32):
I'll explain what their version of the would you rather
is today?

Speaker 6 (17:36):
That's coming up on Gold.

Speaker 7 (17:39):
As a young person, start with you, Ryan, as a
young person. Let's start with Ryan. What kind of things
do you spend money on that aren't essentials? The miscellaneous?
Above the line spending.

Speaker 10 (17:50):
I spend a lot of money on coffee.

Speaker 7 (17:53):
How much a day?

Speaker 9 (17:54):
You say the company buy coffee? At least once a day?
M sorry on like over a week. I reckon about
fifty bucks probably on coffee.

Speaker 7 (18:02):
And do you buy like you live in a shared
apartment with friends. Do you do meal planning or meal prepparing?

Speaker 6 (18:11):
No?

Speaker 10 (18:11):
No, no, no, I just buy all my food out.

Speaker 7 (18:14):
So you don't buy ingredients? You buy food?

Speaker 10 (18:16):
Yes, yeah, just yeap, go straight to the source.

Speaker 7 (18:18):
Do you spend money straight to lovely Mexican source? Do
you spend money on computer games and things like that?

Speaker 9 (18:28):
Yeah, like a lot of subscriptions they kind of add up,
so like Xbox Live, you have to pay to have
access to online gaming and things like that.

Speaker 7 (18:37):
The reason I bring this up is that I read
an interesting article that this is how easy it is.

Speaker 6 (18:41):
That'll be all right, what.

Speaker 7 (18:44):
Do you mean some sort of survey? And Ryan, have
you been happy with this interaction? We've had it all.
It takes to blow ten thousand dollars a year or
miscellaneous bits and pieces. Is to spend twenty seven dollars
forty a day on miscellaneous stuff.

Speaker 6 (19:02):
So that's that doesn't encount fuel.

Speaker 7 (19:04):
Well, no, this is miscellaneous stuff. So this is a coffee, coffee,
fast food, amazonos Live Impulse buys on Amazon convenience store
kind of things where.

Speaker 6 (19:16):
All the sandwiches from seven to eleven or for girls.

Speaker 7 (19:19):
I know I do this. I go to the chemistry
buy things I need, and I go all that looks nice,
that looks nice, So you end up buying fee.

Speaker 5 (19:24):
I've seen you walk past the shop, walked into the
shop when there's nothing on display other than a glass
thing on.

Speaker 7 (19:29):
A plinth, and I don't hate it all buy.

Speaker 6 (19:32):
Oh sure, that's ten thousand dollars. There you go.

Speaker 7 (19:35):
Do you have another as well, so that's the thing.
If I thought this was very interesting, twenty seven dollars
forty a day on miscellaneous things, and if you add
them up, it's not that hard to do that. If
you don't do that, you can make ten thousand dollars
a year. What would you do with ten thousand dollars
a year round? Just buy bigger food and bigger sandwiches.

Speaker 10 (19:53):
Yes, so I'd like to travel.

Speaker 9 (19:55):
Actually, so I can go and yeah, try the cuisine
from where they're Actually.

Speaker 6 (19:58):
Why don't you travel?

Speaker 7 (19:58):
Thousand dollars would buy an enormous trip.

Speaker 5 (20:00):
Why don't you travel to a tire repair and get
the tire on your car fixed, which has now been
broken for some four weeks.

Speaker 10 (20:06):
I could do that. Yeah, that's true. I could.

Speaker 7 (20:09):
You've ruined everything, Brenda Naggy old dad over.

Speaker 5 (20:12):
Here, you could go and get you well, you know,
it's a car, it's supposed to work.

Speaker 6 (20:16):
It's dead money.

Speaker 7 (20:17):
Let this be your public service announcement. Next time you
go to buy something ridiculous or miscellaneous, have a think
about that. You know, how last Friday, would you rather?

Speaker 1 (20:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (20:30):
Would you rather?

Speaker 7 (20:31):
Was it again?

Speaker 5 (20:32):
It was live your life with wet sleeves or live
your life.

Speaker 6 (20:36):
With crumbs in the bed.

Speaker 7 (20:38):
What did you choose?

Speaker 6 (20:39):
Well, I wear a tank top, so it doesn't affect.

Speaker 7 (20:42):
No, that doesn't count. Well, then all around your armpits
A beware, but maybe you're used to that. I've got
another one for you that is on the board outside
the people are.

Speaker 6 (20:49):
Do these people do any work around here?

Speaker 2 (20:51):
Here?

Speaker 6 (20:51):
It is right? A.

Speaker 7 (20:53):
Would you rather a be the person that stands and
collaps every time the plane lands?

Speaker 6 (21:00):
Yeah, that person terrible?

Speaker 7 (21:02):
Or be be the person who stands and claps when
the movie finishes in a theater. So it can't be
in the privacy of your own home theater with the
surround sound and the Brendan Jones branded popcorn. You've got
to be in a cinema.

Speaker 6 (21:16):
Hey, don't rag on my popcorner.

Speaker 7 (21:18):
Okay, what would you choose? What would you rather?

Speaker 6 (21:21):
I'll be.

Speaker 5 (21:22):
I'm at the cinema. I'm standing up. Well done, well done,
Homer's iliad to see or whatever? Well done, well done.
That's what I'm doing.

Speaker 7 (21:32):
Because people legitimately do clap when a plane lands. Yeah,
for sure, So you wouldn't look as foolish Having said that,
you would.

Speaker 6 (21:38):
Look incredibly foolish.

Speaker 5 (21:40):
I'll just say this now, just unless you're a yokel
that's never been on a plane in your life.

Speaker 7 (21:44):
What if it's a dodgy landing and you go, we've
made it.

Speaker 5 (21:48):
But that's not the short of the plane having and
I'm saying a major thing, like you've lost an engine
and you think you get to die, and you're riding
your wishes to your loved.

Speaker 7 (21:59):
Ones, become impregnated in the toilet, you have.

Speaker 6 (22:02):
It off with the stewardess.

Speaker 5 (22:03):
Yeah, unless it's that, then no, there's no clapping when
you land, not from this little black duck.

Speaker 7 (22:09):
I think. I think it's more you can get away
with it on a plane rather than a theater. But
having said that, you can make a quicker get away
from the theater. At the plane, you go, whoa on,
you're flawed. Then you have to stand up, get your
luggage out of the overhead compartment. Then you've got to
walk with all those people through the term.

Speaker 6 (22:29):
Look at this tool bag.

Speaker 7 (22:30):
Yeah, this is the got impregnated on a plane.

Speaker 6 (22:33):
Incidentally, come up with some good water cooler chat, do they?
We should get some sort of jingle. This is a
new segment on the sharp like a whip pole. No,
whip pole is different.

Speaker 7 (22:45):
What about a pub test?

Speaker 6 (22:46):
No, no, no, no, that's different. That's different as well.

Speaker 7 (22:50):
So what are you going to call this?

Speaker 6 (22:51):
I call it whata a cooler chat?

Speaker 7 (22:53):
Whata a cooler chat?

Speaker 6 (22:54):
I've got a jingle already, cham.

Speaker 7 (23:05):
And yet you're the guy who's scared of looking like
a tool. All right? Would you rather a be the
person who stands and claps when the plane lands? Yep,
b stands and claps when the movie finishes in the cinema?

Speaker 6 (23:17):
Thirteen fifty five, twenty two. What a Cooler Chat is
in session.

Speaker 2 (23:21):
For Josie, Jonesy and Amanda Can't shut Up on the
Jonesy and Amanda Podcast. Download the free iHeart app.

Speaker 5 (23:26):
And mark this day down a red leather day. The
seventh of August twenty twenty six, a new segment was born,
What a Cooler Chat?

Speaker 2 (23:36):
Studies have shown and more information gets passed through water
cooler gossip than through official memo.

Speaker 7 (23:43):
That intro is longer than the segment.

Speaker 5 (23:46):
Come on, as per usual, today's what a Cooler Chat?

Speaker 7 (23:52):
Alright, Well, you've wrecked everything by making a long intro. Ryan,
I'm going to ask you the question okay, yep. Would
you rather a be the person that stands and claps
every time the plane lands, or be be the person
that stands and claps when the movie finishes.

Speaker 9 (24:07):
I think plane lands because there's a there's a bit
more jeopardy in landing a plane than just watching a movie.

Speaker 7 (24:13):
So you think the clapping could be justified.

Speaker 9 (24:16):
I think the clapping could be more justified, whereas in
a I'm imagining in a cinema, I'm probably going to
be like the only one standing and clapping, whereas on
the plane I might have some friends clapping with me
as well.

Speaker 7 (24:26):
All right, what are you doing this? Some thought which
is very alarming.

Speaker 6 (24:29):
Nick has joined as Hello Nick, Hello Nicky, how you
going to chat?

Speaker 7 (24:33):
Would you rather a the person who claps when the
plane lands or be the person who claps when the
movie finishes.

Speaker 14 (24:39):
I'm a movie gal because when you're on a plane,
you're stuck in one confined space and everyone will know
that it's you, whereas movies everyone's getting up, they're leaving.

Speaker 6 (24:48):
Yeah, there's a degree of anonymity.

Speaker 7 (24:51):
It's like we as a question where would you rather flactulate?

Speaker 6 (24:54):
What about it?

Speaker 7 (24:55):
Next weeks?

Speaker 6 (24:55):
Like when Amanda goes to an adult movie. Fater as
old dodgy.

Speaker 7 (25:00):
Yeah, what happens?

Speaker 6 (25:01):
Then stand up in your trench coat and applaudra done.

Speaker 7 (25:07):
All involved in the production.

Speaker 6 (25:09):
Kelly has joined us.

Speaker 7 (25:10):
Hello, Kelly, would you rather A be the person who
stands and applauds when the plane lands or b applauds
when the movie finishes?

Speaker 14 (25:19):
Well?

Speaker 1 (25:19):
On the plane? Raised and being is I'd rather I'm
going to embarrass myself and everyone. I'd rather be someone
that the pilot might actually here my classy I'm doing
about the movies. It's not like the actors or the
directors hear my applause.

Speaker 6 (25:36):
Christopher Nolan could be sitting.

Speaker 7 (25:38):
Problem is what if on the plane the pilot thinks
he or she's being razzed on you? But whatever? Don't
you train anymore? Kelly?

Speaker 6 (25:51):
I don't know how someone would think that Saba's joined us?

Speaker 7 (25:54):
Hello said, would you rather A be the person who
applauds when the plane lands or applauds when the movie finishes?
I think when the movie finishes, why would you choose?

Speaker 8 (26:05):
I can appreciate a good performance, whereas the plane landing,
I mean that's his job, right or hers?

Speaker 7 (26:11):
Thank you?

Speaker 6 (26:12):
Sir, you know what I mean.

Speaker 7 (26:14):
I know in the world just doing their job, whereas theater.

Speaker 6 (26:20):
It didn't come here for a lecture around the water
color and Nett has joined us.

Speaker 7 (26:24):
Hello Anett. Would you rather A be the person who
stands and claps in the cinema or on a plane?
I think I've said a twice.

Speaker 9 (26:32):
Oh good, I am for cinema.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
It's dark and it's big and you can hide in
the back of.

Speaker 5 (26:37):
Exactly anonymity when you go to your adult theaters. Amanda
on the weekend in the Eros Theater and you're watching
Watching threes Company, don't need Amanda's twisty.

Speaker 7 (26:51):
Hello, Hello Jenna. Would you rather A be the person
that claps from the plane lands or b be the
person who claps at the end of a movie?

Speaker 14 (26:57):
Definitely end of the movie because you're a poor everybody
who worked on the movie.

Speaker 5 (27:02):
Yes, exactly if you're If you're a director, that's what
you want and you never know they could Cecil.

Speaker 7 (27:07):
Be to me best boy. That's what I say in
my Eros theater as well.

Speaker 6 (27:12):
Cecil be to Miller. The best boy could be in
the audience that night.

Speaker 7 (27:16):
Cecil the mill by a way of wa board.

Speaker 15 (27:19):
Thank you for being part of water Cooler Chat.

Speaker 6 (27:32):
No, no, no, it's not. It's tough. Get back to
work your bludges.

Speaker 7 (27:36):
Gem you know, I know that you've been busting for
information about the rap singer Little Wayne.

Speaker 6 (27:43):
Hang on, don't do me rapping with Munchie's back. This
was the segment that you used.

Speaker 7 (27:48):
To do about rap music.

Speaker 5 (27:50):
This is when we were standing around the water cooler
and I was talking to young people.

Speaker 6 (27:53):
I wanted to.

Speaker 5 (27:54):
Actually be abreast rap music without actually having to listen
to it.

Speaker 6 (27:59):
And you're the gang name is Little Munds.

Speaker 7 (28:01):
You've made that up and you even had an intro.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
Rape see Jesus Sexys Sexy Sexy Jesus Sexy Sexy six.

Speaker 6 (28:16):
Anyway, it was of a time, right.

Speaker 7 (28:20):
I have come across some information about Little Wayne, and
it feels like lately we only have had a little Wayne.
We haven't had a lot of Wayne. Anyway, Lil Wayne.
I'm looking at a picture of him here. Yep, he
looks like et he looks one hundred years old.

Speaker 6 (28:36):
Give me a look at him.

Speaker 7 (28:37):
How old do you think he is?

Speaker 6 (28:39):
Oh, he'd have to be fifty.

Speaker 7 (28:41):
He's forty three. I think he looks about one hundred
and eight. But Little in case you're wondering who Lil
Wayne is, he's a couple of his big songs, his lollipology.
Yeah stop, and how about this one trigger finger.

Speaker 11 (29:01):
Shaped to his own deck's head, to his own next
life is a cher Maybe your.

Speaker 6 (29:05):
Deck better turn a dab.

Speaker 7 (29:08):
Anyway, that's Little Wayne. The reason why I'm playing on Smooth,
The reason I want to talk about Lil Wayne is
some information has come to light where I've seen footage
of him talking to some other I don't know if
they're musicians, I don't know, rappers, I don't know what
they are, but they're discussing boys in the hood, his
sleeping habits, and the conversation went a little bit like this,

(29:30):
sleep at night?

Speaker 15 (29:31):
I don't sleep, ever, don't because I work on What
time you go to bed?

Speaker 6 (29:36):
I don't have time?

Speaker 7 (29:37):
Well, wait, do you really not sleep?

Speaker 9 (29:40):
What do you do?

Speaker 13 (29:40):
So?

Speaker 12 (29:41):
Are you up from?

Speaker 3 (29:41):
Like let's say it's like midnight.

Speaker 7 (29:44):
You're like, okay, I'm gonna try to lay down.

Speaker 11 (29:45):
And go to bed.

Speaker 9 (29:46):
No, no, no, So you're never trying to lay down
and go to bad You're never.

Speaker 7 (29:49):
Get in the bed.

Speaker 6 (29:49):
Ever, You're never get into bed no.

Speaker 7 (29:52):
That's why it looks one hundred and eight years old.
Never lies down and goes to sleep, ites to work
so much. Lil Wayne haven't best. Maybe the solution to this,
I don't know. I'm just throwing this out there for
Little Wayne if it maybe does a collab a little baby,
a little.

Speaker 5 (30:13):
Baby, so you can put a little way with a
little baby.

Speaker 7 (30:15):
And then someone would have to put them to bed.

Speaker 6 (30:17):
Well because little baby would be up but little but.

Speaker 7 (30:19):
Little baby can't stand, so we go to bed with
little Wayne. They'd be a little poopy and then this
guy come in. Wake up every Wakecadian rhythms are taken
care of.

Speaker 16 (30:34):
What.

Speaker 7 (30:34):
I don't want to put a cap in your ass,
go to sleep, Little Wayne.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
You're listening to the Jonesy and Amanda podcast.

Speaker 6 (30:47):
So many requests for them to do it again.

Speaker 7 (30:51):
They should lay off the moonshine knocking a man. It's
so weak.

Speaker 6 (31:00):
This the Friday Field Sessions. Now they're getting serious.

Speaker 5 (31:03):
This last week Ian Moss Troycassa Daily people are still
raving about.

Speaker 7 (31:07):

about today. Let's start with this. It's been twenty years
since these two songs were released and this one second

Speaker 7 (31:55):
Well, it's been almost twenty years since Bachelor Girl released
some of the most iconic hits Australia has ever known,
and the very album featuring them, Waiting for the Day,
has been given a makeover. It is now called Waiting
for the Day Artist Sessions. To tell us what those
sessions are, please welcome the stars themselves of Bachelor Girl,

(32:15):
Tanya and James.

Speaker 6 (32:18):
One is Bachelor and one is Girl.

Speaker 12 (32:20):
Hey, we don't have to give you the crash course
on what the where the band name come?

Speaker 11 (32:24):
You know?

Speaker 6 (32:25):
I did? I did know it, I know it, but
over the time I've forgotten.

Speaker 12 (32:29):
To be honest, I looked up Spinster in the thesaurus
and it had Bachelor Girl. Because the place that we
sort of wrote from and still do is that independent?

Speaker 3 (32:39):
You know, girl about town? You know, emancipated chick.

Speaker 7 (32:42):
But spinster, isn't it not a sexy So we went
with it's like women over a certain age and now
traditionally were called krone and that was never a derogatory word. Wow,
be terrible to call someone a cron. Wow, it's not derogatory.

Speaker 6 (33:03):
It's nice. It's a term of endearment. But you guys
must be so pleased. You know, I've been doing this
for so long.

Speaker 5 (33:08):
I remember when Our Buses and Trains came out and
I instantly remember thinking, what a great song to have.

Speaker 9 (33:15):
It?

Speaker 6 (33:15):
Still what, we play it quite regularly. I've played it
throughout my career.

Speaker 7 (33:18):
But it's one of the still the one that such
greater astraight in songs, isn't it?

Speaker 3 (33:21):
Apparently? Apparently?

Speaker 6 (33:23):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (33:23):
I mean it stood the test of time.

Speaker 12 (33:25):
Somehow James nailed the human condition, that is, you know,
the propensity to walk under certain public transports.

Speaker 7 (33:32):
Yeah, and self sales, sabotage.

Speaker 3 (33:35):
But want to do it all again?

Speaker 7 (33:36):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (33:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (33:37):
Did you know at the time what an enduring hit
it would be?

Speaker 8 (33:40):
No?

Speaker 6 (33:40):
I thought it was weird, So I wrote the.

Speaker 16 (33:44):
Song and I had to show it Titania and I said,
I've written something weird. I don't know if it's good
weird or terrible weird. You can let me know. And
she liked it, and then one person after another liked it.
And it's only in hindsight, really that I understand that
it is life affirming and that's.

Speaker 6 (34:02):
What people get out of it.

Speaker 16 (34:03):
It's why people like the song because by the end
of the song they feel better than they did at
the start of the song. It's kind of a medicine
they don't know they're taking.

Speaker 6 (34:12):
That's another song in itself, and.

Speaker 7 (34:16):
With the artist sessions of the songs, tell us about that,
tell us who's joined you on the album?

Speaker 3 (34:22):
Okay, it's it's quite a quite a list. Are you ready?

Speaker 7 (34:25):
I'm ready.

Speaker 3 (34:25):

Speaker 7 (34:54):
I need a lie doown. She's my favorite.

Speaker 6 (34:57):
I did listen to you singing with Guy Sebastian. That
is sensation. It takes you back to such a happy time.

Speaker 3 (35:14):
It doesn't have to do that, doesn't go there.

Speaker 6 (35:16):
It's sort of like the year two thousand was so good.

Speaker 3 (35:21):
It was a good year at Sydney Olympics.

Speaker 6 (35:23):
Yeah, it just felt like everything was good.

Speaker 5 (35:25):
It was before September eleven, before the internet. You could
bring all your stuff on a plane.

Speaker 7 (35:29):
It was keep your shoes on as you went through
the terminal.

Speaker 6 (35:33):
You could carry glass bottles around with you.

Speaker 7 (35:35):
You don't have a time bring and you could carry
a glass bottle.

Speaker 6 (35:38):
I like it.

Speaker 7 (35:39):
I define a good time.

Speaker 5 (35:40):
I like the fact that you guys are here for
the Friday Feels session. So, James, you've brought a keyboard in,
which is a good thing.

Speaker 16 (35:47):
Yes, lucky, I didn't bring a guitar because I'm crap
at guitar.

Speaker 12 (35:50):
Okay, I'm not playing for a piano player.

Speaker 3 (35:53):
I'm a really good scene.

Speaker 6 (35:54):
But you're going to be doing a bit of singing.

Speaker 5 (35:56):
We've just we've set up the microphones and all the
stuff you form. Our technician Ben was just doing a
bit of sound check before.

Speaker 6 (36:04):
I got Hit bur Bus round.

Speaker 7 (36:08):
Is he on the new album?

Speaker 12 (36:09):

me John Stevens. There's no between what we just said
and John John and Susie.

Speaker 6 (36:23):
We've got John the role call is complete.

Speaker 3 (36:27):

still in the business.

Speaker 5 (37:15):
We're celebrating waiting for the Day Artist Sessions, which is
due out today. And you've teamed with pretty much everyone

Speaker 6 (44:26):

Speaker 7 (44:28):
We need some assistance, which is why we rely on Jenna,
our social media guru.

Speaker 4 (44:32):
Jenna, and she loves cats, snapcha.

Speaker 3 (44:36):
She's a social media girl.

Speaker 1 (44:39):
We like to call her social.

Speaker 3 (44:41):
Media dance dick.

Speaker 7 (44:44):
Eshay, what what.

Speaker 6 (44:48):
Talking like the kids?

Speaker 7 (44:49):
Oh, dad's embarrassing.

Speaker 10 (44:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (44:51):
What have you got for us this week? Jenna? What
have we done?

Speaker 10 (44:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 14 (44:54):
So it's been a huge week across the Jones in
Amanda socials once again, and it all started with Martha
Ves rendition of the US national anthem at the Women's
Pro Baseball League launch.

Speaker 7 (45:07):
You Bye.

Speaker 6 (45:12):
Bye.

Speaker 7 (45:14):
It seems to get worse every time I hear it.
Why cries? People love it?

Speaker 14 (45:23):
Well. It's received thousands of views, with many agreeing that
her rendition was downright shocking. So Donna on Instagram rights
reminds me of my grandma after a couple of scotches
and water.

Speaker 7 (45:36):
Yep, it must be the water.

Speaker 6 (45:38):
She must have got a light on the water.

Speaker 14 (45:40):
While Shawnsey on YouTube adds, when the mechanic asks you
to describe the noise your car has been making.

Speaker 6 (45:47):
Yes.

Speaker 14 (45:50):
Martha has since acknowledged that the rendition had not gone
as she had hoped, attributing the difficulties to wet and
windy conditions and the absence of stage monitor.

Speaker 6 (46:02):
Stage monitor.

Speaker 7 (46:02):
When we have a bad day of HEU, it's because
it's wet and windy outside.

Speaker 6 (46:05):
As yep, and our fall back's not good.

Speaker 7 (46:08):
Absolutely.

Speaker 14 (46:09):
However, our biggest post of the week was our response
to Miranda Cur's unusually strict diet.

Speaker 7 (46:15):
Oh I don't do eggs, okay, so what's a breakfast
for you?

Speaker 3 (46:18):
I do protein, So I eat meats like venison.

Speaker 7 (46:22):
Oh yeah, bison, yeah, lamb I eat all.

Speaker 10 (46:25):
The meats that aren't mass produced.

Speaker 3 (46:27):
So you're not doing sushi.

Speaker 7 (46:28):
Oh never, never, parasite, parasite. I know, I do love Caa.

Speaker 6 (46:32):
She'd be great to take the sushi train.

Speaker 7 (46:35):
Just the bison.

Speaker 5 (46:36):
There's no bison on a sushi train. Imagine the size
of the carriage.

Speaker 14 (46:41):
So it's received two million views across our socials, with
thousands of comments like this one from user Queen of Cups,
who says I watched this as I poured myself a
red wine. Well, Jody adds, what a fascinating exchange between
two of society's deepest thing. However, there are some comments

(47:03):
in support of Miranda's diet, such as this one from Marianna,
who says, why are people assuming she's miserable? Why is
being healthy and taking care of yourself considered depressing? She
looks great, she's always been healthy since her twenties. Good
on her, She's got the discipline, she's got the money.

Speaker 7 (47:20):
Good for her. I don't think anyone's assuming she's miserable.
I think they're just saying, imagine how hard it would
be to be that so restricting.

Speaker 6 (47:28):
Yeah, she looks good in a kazi.

Speaker 7 (47:30):
Doesn't she just look if I knew to work for me,
I might eat all bis.

Speaker 6 (47:33):
There's no awning over the toy store.

Speaker 7 (47:36):
Oh yah? Is there a matter of the match? I
know it's not going to be Jonesy.

Speaker 14 (47:42):
On a brighter noise.

Speaker 6 (47:43):
It's time for digital gennis. It's insane, isn't it.

Speaker 14 (47:49):
This is where she's my favorite contributor of the week,
and this week it's everybody who's contributed to our online
poll on whether Jonesy or Jen y Rye has a
big Adam's Apple?

Speaker 6 (48:01):
