Julie is nod you to put it back to bro
Brian where I tolerate. He's not a fan of us.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
Hello Julie, Hi, Julie, how are you going rank? His question?
Number one for you? A snurfer s n R FBR.
A snurfer is original, predecessor to the modern? What two
words have been ushed together? No, snurfer? What's it? What's
a snurfer? Oh no, I've never heard of it? No,

(05:11):
I but can you put together those two words and
imagine what kind of thing it might be?

Speaker 7 (05:20):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
Sorry, sorry, Julie, but we got to rear in Green Valley.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
Hello, Rea, Hi, So snurfer is an original word. It
was the predecessor to the modern. What it's two words
that have been smushed together? What do you think a
snurfer might be? Snur and fur.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
And fair?

Speaker 8 (05:46):
Is it?

Speaker 9 (05:48):

Ryan, you may have stumped everyone with question number one.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Yeah, we only have to question number one.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Craig is in Connell's point. Hello Craig, Hello, how are
you going very well? A snurfer s u s n
U R f E R is the original predecessor to
the modern what.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Snowboard?

Speaker 3 (06:29):
Snowboard, so it's a snow surfer, a snurfer.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
When I worked at the snowfields in the eighties, I
had a thing called a swing bow. So snowboards have
just started taking off, and you could go the snowboard
or the swing boat. The swing bow was two skis
that used the principle of downhill skiing. You know, you've
got a downhill ski and an uphill skip escape and
they had like a skateboard platform. It was really good

(06:54):
and I liked it so much I bought another one
and I was telling everyone, get a part of the
swing bow.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
Army is your swing bow now?

Speaker 1 (07:01):
And that's a good question. Ran me out of town
because I told them to go and buy these things.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
Let's play sing it back, all right, Craig. We want
to see if you're full of voice? Can you sing
the next line to this song?

Speaker 10 (07:20):
If you truly.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
And I did.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
It, cry, I don't know where you went in frank because.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Sydney.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
That's amazing, well done, Craig. He's question number three. This
is multiple choice. Approximately what percent of the South Korean
population has the US name Kim go b it is
there are over ten point six million Kims in South Korea.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
Right, water can exist naturally on earth in which three
different states of matter?

Speaker 7 (08:20):
Hell say that again?

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Exactly, water can exist naturally on Earth in which three
different states of matter? Think about it?

Speaker 3 (08:30):
It's which way? Three different ways we have water? What
can they be?

Speaker 4 (08:34):
Liquid gass?

Speaker 1 (08:39):
Oh my god?

Speaker 5 (08:40):
M oh sorry, Craig is in Ingadee.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
You're right, Craig was right, liquid gas. What's the third
state in which you can get water? Fiona?

Speaker 7 (08:53):
Hi, it's solid?

Speaker 1 (08:54):
Solid? Which is my stomach right now? After all those
left hopers?

Speaker 3 (08:58):
Not liquid or.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
Gas for A and B? When will the question five
look at you? When will the OZ alert Emergency Warning
system be tested across Australia?

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Which day?

Speaker 1 (09:11):
Which day?

Speaker 7 (09:13):
August or something or the second?

Speaker 3 (09:17):
I kind of just want to know which day. No,
it's not that's a week away.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Uh not for you. Sophie is in Baroni. I do
you like this? Pet?

Speaker 2 (09:31):
I love these little quizzes.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
It sounds little patronize.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
Let's see if this little quiz can get you a prize. Now,
this is the OS Alert Emergency Warning System. This and
I'll just tell you what's going to happen here? All
mobile device is smart, which is tablets will vibrate and
play a ten seconds siren even if your device is
set to silent or do not disturb. So seriously, if

(09:55):
people have hidden phones for security reasons, all that the
women are being told to be very careful if you
if you're planning some kind of situation, you need a
private phone where this happens to every phone.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
So what time?

Speaker 3 (10:07):
But when that's the question. When will the OSLOT emergency
warning system be tested across Australia? It's next week?

Speaker 1 (10:13):
What day?

Speaker 6 (10:15):
I am all across this and I couldn't agree in
more with you, a man, It's Monday, Monday?

Speaker 1 (10:20):
Do we know what it sounds like?

Speaker 3 (10:26):
Thank you barnaby.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
That's part of it. That is a good point.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
What if you're in the middle of something, Well this
has been this has been made quite public and now
saying to women, if you're planning, how do women have
kind of for their own safety? Sure, have hidden devices
be where every device will make this noise.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
But what if you're watching a movie, What if you're
in the middle of the.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Iliad, Well, it's only going to be for ten seconds.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
You're watching it on your phone. Sophy, congratulations, you won
the jam Package.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
Also the Odyssey, not the Iliad.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
Okay, that's the sequel. Sophie, congratulations, you've won the jam Packer.
Double passed you. Brian Adams. Roll with the Punches Tour, Sopie.
Anything you'd like to add.

Speaker 7 (11:04):
Wow, Okay, that's awesome.

Speaker 11 (11:06):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
This little quiz is one new tickets to see Brian Adams.
So congradulates.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
Take a peek behind the scenes. Follow Jonesy and Amanda
on Instagram and Facebook.

Speaker 12 (11:19):
Six and Joy Macon and stop working with slow. You're
a making slashing to make.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
You go yeah, but TikTok tacker. We make food from
TikTok and eat it.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
Let's practice, Brendan, I'm going to say the word cone,
and what are you going to say? You know what
you're going to say. You didn't want to say. Hey, man,
I know you want.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
What you did at university is your own business. Amanda.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
We're making mayo.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
There was a shortage of garden hose and orchie bottles
when you went.

Speaker 3 (11:48):
To We are making a Mayo cone and the waffle
cones the one I saw with small waffle cones. We've
got big ones here and you don't and the thing
as you fill it with mayonnaise, I don't think that
would be palatable on this large scale version of things.
So I'm going to do you all a favor and
put ice cream in the base of it. I've got

(12:09):
here a vianetta.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
Where'd you get that from?

Speaker 3 (12:12):
You mind? That's going to take a while, and we
just put some of that in there.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
So the original recipe says not to put ice cream
in it, says.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
The original recipe, though, as I said, uses a much
smaller cone. We just need a bit of bas in here. Cripes,
do you want to try and help here?

Speaker 1 (12:29):
Now?

Speaker 3 (12:31):
That's here we go. So there's some basic ice cream
in the base. What we add to that now is
a big swirly swirl of mayonnaise. I'm not particularly a
fan of mayonnaise.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
Are you okay? You don't like much in this room?

Speaker 3 (12:44):
Ready?

Speaker 1 (12:45):
Big splitchy?

Speaker 3 (12:47):
Did you hear it?

Speaker 2 (12:48):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (12:48):
Jeez? You get everywhere?

Speaker 3 (12:50):
That I'll just do. I'm just going to hold that
for me. Please hold the cone a man, and then
one here another one k three.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
I knew we'd be sharing a couple of cones one
day and then lead us a stroke.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
I'm going to put some sprinkles on. No, I'm going
to put some more on top, more on that. Now,
look that it looks nice. It looks like ice cream
with sprinkles on it. What do you think, Ryan?

Speaker 10 (13:16):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (13:17):
No, I tell what, let's it's all come out. Start
that one again?

Speaker 3 (13:22):
Do you do that?

Speaker 1 (13:23):
Hold that one. We'll come back with TikTok Taka jam.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
Skippy peanut butter fuel the fun with every spoonful available
at Wooly's for your local grocer.

Speaker 12 (13:37):
Joy can stop working with making slating to make you
go yeah, Skippy peanut butter, come on board with TikTok tak.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
What about that?

Speaker 3 (13:49):
Well, I don't know. If that we don't have to
use Skippy peanut butter recime, which is luckily because today
it's a little bit makee.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
But ware smoother than a fresh jar Skippy.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
Our desk is littered with spilt mayonnaise, bits of mank. Anyway,
what we've got are mayo cones. This is a waffle cone.
I've put a bit of Vanetta ice cream inside it
to pump it up a bit. Then you're a lot
of mayonnaise, some sprinkles. I'm going to give a little
bit of chocolate garnish in the shape of a flake.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
I haven't had cones for years, not since art school.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
There you go, Brendan, that's yours, and I've got one here.
We've been through the whole last five minutess been standing
here with these in our hands, waiting to eat them. Now, Ryan,
the rules are, You've got to bide into the bit
that's got the mayo. When I say three, one two three.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
Gin No yack, yuck. Now hang on a second, no,
hang on.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
Digital Journa just had to pass me the tissue.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
No, that's horrible.

Speaker 3 (14:46):
It tastes somehow. I'm expecting it to be tunerish.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
That's horrible, horrible.

Speaker 3 (14:50):
Oh, don't you're making this up. I've got to eat
some chocolate. Come on, No, you're making it up. That's
horrible that I'm not a big mayonnaise fan. What do
you think?

Speaker 9 (15:03):
Right?

Speaker 13 (15:04):
Awful?

Speaker 1 (15:04):
It's awful. It is awful.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
How can you possibly not?

Speaker 1 (15:09):
It's not that it's okay. It's not two thumbs up.
It's not a thumb up. It's half a thumb.

Speaker 3 (15:17):
Stumpy, it's a half a thumb up. I think that's
disgraceful because it's it's it's the intensity of mayonnaise was
surrounded by chocolate and sprinkles.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
Well maybe if you have been on the cones, you'd
probably eat this all right?

Speaker 3 (15:28):
Well maybe.

Speaker 1 (15:30):
Oh, by the way, if you would like to submit
your TikTok recipe, let.

Speaker 3 (15:35):
Me just say this a recipe that you've either seen
on TikTok or is one that you've tried. Just don't
make up something terrible like this has got to be
something that exists.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
But we're eating this anyway, do it? Go to Jonesy
Demanda dot com dot au sick, make a slap done
and make you go yacka. Yeah, it's not that bad,
so we're still on air. That was terrible. Well this
is a terrible gold. Hello there, it's Jonesy a Manda

(16:07):
driving you have. I don't know why you so been
out of shape that I like that concoction in TikTok tyker.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
Are you making that up? Because that is not a combination.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
I will argue that the warmth of the mayonnaise didn't
sit well with me in the cone.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
So it wasn't the taste of the mayonnaise mixed with
sprinkles and chocolate that didn't worry you.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
I'm a bandit for an ice cream in a cone and.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
The nature of that phrase is ice cream. Yeap, So
this warm mayonnaise, yes, yes, I.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
Understand that, but the warmth of it, it's too too much.
But big news at propa of TikTok taker. You know
how it's broiled to us by Skippy Peanut Butter, our
best friends of the world, and we said head to
Jonesy demanded dot com dot a you with your TikTok
tuker recipe a five hundred dollars will wors voucher. We're
not just getting this to do for no reason. And
three cases of Skippy peanut.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
Butter and a Skippy merch pack smooth.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
Than a fresh jir Skippy. Yes, you get it, so
it's worth you while. But we want we want to
see the video as well.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
And you, no, you don't have to do that. You
should or maybe it's something you've seen on TikTok you're
parking on to us.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
You bring it to a just can't make it up.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
You can't say I'm going to put ear hair on
a chopper chop Okay, because I've already had that. You
don't use those cotton buds more than once.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
You've said a console of your car.

Speaker 3 (17:22):
Well, lots of things come up. We're going to talk
about Barnaby Joyce yep, my family's gross heirloom. They're separate
things and the pub test. Have you heard of the
if Saint Laurent's make up gift pack that went a
worker not a wife split the internet. We'll put it
to the pub test later on.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
You're listening to the Jonesy and Demanda podcast now a by.

Speaker 14 (17:45):
The miracle of recording an Amanda, two great names. I'm
not a scatters the chemistry between them, but how much.

Speaker 3 (17:54):
Relign your own business and shut your piehole?

Speaker 1 (17:56):
I wish you were with your Joe Forty eight hours
since Barnaby this interview with Sarah Ferguson on the seven
thirty Report. Within thirty seconds of seeing that exchange, the
memes started. I instantly thought of barking dog Man. So
did every other man and his dog, and the memes flowed.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
And their own barking dog man they're out there.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Kendrick Lamar, for example, Humble bitch, b Humble. I think
it actually actually makes it better Foxy our very own
audio engineer. He went to university. He has worked with many,
many great people in this business and he has come

(18:42):
up with the new One Nation jingle.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
Please explained, sorry it's a dog. He's explained, sorry it's a.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
Dog, okay, and I sort of said, just got crazy.
He also has this do you know there was some
speculator work.

Speaker 3 (19:02):
There is some speculation that there was no dog. I've
heard some people say that Barnaby Joyce is a consummate
medium man. He knew very well what he was doing.
So when the questions got tricky about his allegiance to
Pauline and her wide Australian policy chat, et cetera.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
So he makes something out, he makes.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
Something up so that none of us are talking about that,
and we're all talking about this, but how does the
rest of the world see us in our politics through this?
I follow an American podcast called pod Save America and
they were talking about it. I'll play you that next.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
Also my gross family heirlore what is it?

Speaker 3 (19:34):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (19:34):
But this thing is rare.

Speaker 5 (19:36):
It is its rank that's coming up on gold Jamious.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
In case you've been living under a rock for the
last few days and didn't hear what we were just
talking about. On Monday night on seven thirty program on
the ABC, Barnaby Joyce is being interviewed by Sarah Ferguson
and in the middle of a tricky question, this was
his answer. He said he was talking to his imaginary dog.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
Well you don't see the dog, do.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
You Just don't.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
Argue this. Why would you yell a at a dog
that wasn't making any noise. It was barking like loon.
You'd say, shut.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
Up, he said. In his defense, he said, country people
are laughing.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
They get it.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
The dog loved me in the morning. He go, yeah,
was there a dog? I don't know, But I listened
to podcasts called Podsave America and they're all ex scriptwriters
of scriptwriters and speech writers of Barack Obama and they
sort of work on the Democrat side of politics. Just
an interesting insight into this. But I just do a
lot of different kinds of things. But it was interesting

(20:35):
hearing their take on Barnaby Joyce. Hear a little snippet,
please have a listen.

Speaker 14 (20:41):
Okay, okay, he's a fan favorite, so he's a charming fellow.
He's now a member of the right wing one Nation Party,
but not long ago he served as Deputy Prime Minister
of Australia. He's that's the leader of the National Party.
But ben believe it or not, this is not the
first time that Barnaby Joyce has declared his love for
man's best friend on national television. Check this clip from
twenty fifteen.

Speaker 13 (21:01):
The next issue, which is a gentleman by the name
of John Christopher Depp aka Jack Sparrow, and he has
decided to bring into our nation two dogs. Basically looks
like he snucked them in. We found out he snucked
them in because we saw them taking it to a
poodle groomer. Now, mister Depp has to either take his
dogs back to California or we're gonna have to euthanize them.

(21:24):
So it's time that Pistol and Boo bug it off
back to the United States.

Speaker 14 (21:29):
You threatened to kill dogs on TV. Maybe you shouldn't
be allowed to have one in the future. That's that's
my idea.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
I'm not here to defend Johanne Depp, but I am
here to defend Pistol and Boo. That was a pretty
hard swerve to nukingam.

Speaker 14 (21:40):
It was referred to I guess as the war on Terrier,
I'd almost.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
Forgotten that I've forgotten a euthanized And they did even
they did deeper to not too further back in Barnaby's life,
but just through the tabloid juice of Barnaby's life.

Speaker 14 (21:55):
Also been In twenty twenty four, the Daily Mail ran
a video of Joyce. He was taking off phone call.
He was on the street. He fell off a potted
plant around midnight and I'm assuming he had a few.
He landed on his back and then just lay there
and did the phone call. This is about midnight in
Canberra and some bystander walked by and filmed it. And
this is an actual line from the story that I
wanted to read you with. This is Barnaby. Joyce's wife

(22:16):
said her husband was not referring to her when he
called someone a quote deading seaward during the phone call.
Then she said, I think he was calling himself one.
He likes to self flagellate.

Speaker 1 (22:27):
Yeah, sounds like a colorful guy. You know, I'm not
sure i'd want him anywhere near positions of power and
responsibility though. No nor when America thinks.

Speaker 3 (22:36):
We're nuts when they are laughing at us. Oh my god.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
What Jonesy and Amanda catchum up on the Jonesy and
Amanda Podcast. Download the free iHeart app.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
Well, I sent you something that I found Brendan that
is truly horrific. It's a woman and she's sitting on
a chair and the chair looks like it's had a
lifetime of mud and mind it and this is what
she says, I don't want to give him born.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
Their face right now.

Speaker 14 (23:08):
He was actually born in six for.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
Seven generations of birth along.

Speaker 3 (23:13):
With that second time. Please, so I assume the maths
is out for shown the mats on this it's one
four hundred and ten years ago. So she's had that
chair since six hundred and sixteen AD and people have
been born in it. Forget her terrible mats. Maybe she
means forty seven people have been born in that our

(23:34):
family birthing chair. It looks like they didn't put a
sheet on it or anything. The picture of Felic at
Ryan rubbing.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
His face kill breeze it.

Speaker 3 (23:43):
She said, every woman in our bloodline has given birth
on it. She has said it is rank, but not
every family heirloom is going to be a beautiful crystal
cut glass set. Sometimes it might be a little bit Maine.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
Do you have any family heirlooms around the house.

Speaker 3 (23:58):
Well, none that are particularly Oh, only the thing that
you gave me. It wasn't a family earli and you
bought me.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
No, it's a chamber pot. But historically if.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
It was, what if it was my fan, if your
family had handed down, would you want that your family's
heritage of toileting handed down from generation to generation, would
you want that.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
We've got a like a little I don't know. It's
like a doorstop made out of It's got all sand
in it. It's like a little frog that's been handed
down from generation.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
It's not gross, though, is it.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
It looks grace It's kind of dirty, but like I
check it out, but it's you kept doing even know
it's a frog until you see the two buttons that
are signed on to its face.

Speaker 3 (24:41):
Oh, one of those one of those things.

Speaker 1 (24:43):
Yeah. And my niece she's got a thing called cow.
When she was a kid, she had this little puppet
cow and it's just called cow. I know it's not
heavenly creative, but it's got all the drooly residue. She's
now twenty two, and she said, when does she keep it?
She's it's stashed, but it's mills And when they were little,
you'd want to smell it because it was so bad

(25:05):
because the kids drool yuck.

Speaker 3 (25:08):
Well, the tribal drum is going to beat for this
my family's gross heirloom? Make what's that about? The lyrics
says it was nine feet high? No, it isn't six
feet high nine feet one one feet high?

Speaker 1 (25:25):
Six feet.

Speaker 3 (25:28):
Why was grant?

Speaker 6 (25:28):
It was his?

Speaker 3 (25:29):
She princess and the pea. Maybe that's what's in it.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
Those Americans living in the mountains you had to keep
away from.

Speaker 3 (25:37):
They couldn't get to Grandma. My family's gross heirloom.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
What have you got? Gairnation on Amanda's evening scroll. She
sent me this before I went to bed last night.
This gross family heirloom, dreadful. This chair.

Speaker 3 (25:51):
There's a picture of the chair, the woman sitting in
it with a baby on a lap. The chair looks
like it's like there's been the scene of a murder,
and it does have bodily things. Have a listen, don't
want to give them all their peace?

Speaker 1 (26:07):
L He was actually born.

Speaker 8 (26:11):
Generations of both along with that second.

Speaker 3 (26:16):
Let's not even get to that couch please, if you
don't mind generations from sixteen to six from six to
sixteen a d This has been used in her family apparently,
but she said, every woman in her bloodline has given
birth on that chair, and no one's put a sheet down,
no one's cleaned.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
It for breeze.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
That's good stuff, you know, is it good enough? There's
your nappy, saandad.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
The tribal dramas beating my gross family heirloom, didn't.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
We had a lot of fun me Amanda, hello, tell
us about the heirloom.

Speaker 8 (26:51):
Good afternoon, and James, I agree. There's not enough for
breeze for that job. That's a big one. It is
a bit gross as well in bodily parts and it's
a bit weird. But when my kids were little, need
to put their little cheese under the pillow. For the
two very three kids, I've never had the heart to
throw them out, so in my jewelry box. Now they're
all in their late twenties, I still have all their peace,

(27:13):
and I don't know what to do with them. Maybe
I'll give them back to them. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (27:18):
I don't know if they want them, because I've seen
a whold of these things. This is a new movement
where people are saying, when you look at your stuff,
think about your family going through your stuff after you've
passed away, and what a pain in the neck you're
making their lives.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
Yeah, but how many teeth are we talking about, Amanda?

Speaker 8 (27:35):
Well, it's three kids all the teeth that they've lost,
so that there's quite a few. There's probably about twenty teeth.
Some amazing. I'm a serial killer, if that's right.

Speaker 3 (27:44):
If the police come over, you're in trouble.

Speaker 8 (27:47):
I think I'm in a bit of trouble.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
Any of your surnames not Osmond.

Speaker 3 (27:50):
Maybe use them as paving stones, take a photo of them,
keep the memory. Let the teeth.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
What you could do? You could you use them for
other things? What a necklace? Turn it into a necklace.

Speaker 3 (28:03):
That would look weird at all.

Speaker 1 (28:04):
I think it'd be great.

Speaker 3 (28:07):
Thank you, Amanda Tanils joined Hello Tanil? What's your gross
family heirloom?

Speaker 6 (28:13):
I almost considered going under the sky quick. If my
girlfriend's here this, I'm never going to leave this down.
But I have my great grandmother's dried out placenta framed
on my mother's hallway in my mother's hallway that I
am so not excited to receive when my mom passes away,

(28:35):
say this is the stuff?

Speaker 3 (28:36):
So is this your mum's mum's placenta?

Speaker 6 (28:40):
Mm hmmm?

Speaker 3 (28:40):
And why she kept it growing up?

Speaker 6 (28:44):
Well, it's being passed down. I don't know how it
originally started, but I remember asking what the artwork was
when I was a little girl, and obviously not knowing
what a placenta was, and I was two years old.
I just accepted it as a piece of art.

Speaker 1 (28:57):
Yep.

Speaker 6 (28:57):
And I got older and started to realize what it is.
I've now had forty plus years of dreading being the
recipient of that piece of homework and being worn that
I was going to path it down to my kids.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
Interesting is it because your mum came from the generation
where you had to you couldn't say no to heirlooms.
We're now looking at them differently.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
I'm with them. I'm imagining it will look like a giant,
dried apricot.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
No it's not. I think it's probably a thin veil
of a thing. You're right, does it look like a
tied eye something?

Speaker 6 (29:28):
It looks it looks like a dried out piece of skin.
What it is It is absolutely disgusting, and I don't
know what to tell my kids when I have to
pass it on. I'm going to leave it up to.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
Them what they do. Pride of place, the mantel, I
think maybe you can long sooner.

Speaker 1 (29:46):
We don't want pictures, please, can you send us pictures?
I just wouldn't be nice to just say.

Speaker 3 (29:54):
Well, thank you for owning up to that and give
it up for the framer.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
Back in the old days, I didn't judge about what
you're framing. Footy Jersey. What number did he play?

Speaker 3 (30:06):
Take more of your calls. My family's gross Airloomsteen.

Speaker 1 (30:10):
On gold gem. Everyone's got the family heirlooms, you know,
like some gold trinkets that would be pretty cool, an
old blunderbus that you put over the fireplace.

Speaker 3 (30:20):
Some do balloons?

Speaker 1 (30:21):
What about some do balloons? What about some booty?

Speaker 3 (30:23):
How about something that's not manky like this? I don't
want to give them.

Speaker 15 (30:27):
All their face right now. He was actually warning six
seven generations of birth along with that.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
Second let's not get to that couch.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
Now.

Speaker 3 (30:41):
Her math's is way out, obviously, but she says that
every woman in her bloodline has given birth on that
birthing chair. A photo is included and it doesn't look good.

Speaker 1 (30:50):
Yep. Danil called through. She's got her mother's grandmother's placenta
framed on the wall.

Speaker 3 (30:56):
Her mother's mother's placenta.

Speaker 1 (30:57):
Her mother's mother's So that makes this is one of
those stupid ridle riddles. She was a doctor.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
Chuck it out.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
But but I was just saying, you've taken it to
the frame and you flame the frame the placenta.

Speaker 3 (31:10):
Oh that's nice, dear.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
I didn't do it. You framed the percenta. It's just
you can't chuck it out.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
No, of course you can chuck it out.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
Jem I right, can you just google what it would
look like there you?

Speaker 3 (31:20):
Oh no, See, all you're doing is kicking the can
of hoarding down the line for your family to deal with.
So the tribal drom is beating for my family's gross heirlooms.

Speaker 1 (31:33):
Then you get much sleep. So we had a lot
of fun on Keep your fun to yourself, John thirteen two.
Jenny has joined us.

Speaker 3 (31:41):
Hello, Jenny, what's the heirloom?

Speaker 9 (31:44):
Well pertaining to the lady who rang earlier who had
teeth from her children? Yep, same thing. I didn't know
what to do with them, but I couldn't part with
them at the time, so I kept them all in
a jar and I named which Tuesday were in the mouth,
and so I used to think, and as the kids
got older, I said, I'm going to do something with

(32:04):
these on your twenty first, don't you dare? So when
the first sun turned twenty one, I made a little
denter about the size of a child's mouth, maybe a
bit bigger, out of pink plaster scene, and I placed
all of those little teeth the right side up, and
I had a little denture. I joined the top and
the bottom together. I made it in wire and then
covered it in pink pink plasticine. I poured a little

(32:27):
gift box that had a mirror backing, so when you
opened the box you.

Speaker 7 (32:30):
Had a three of the teeth. And at the reception
for his birthday, I had the cake made and I
had them leave enough room, and I put that box
the middle of his cake.

Speaker 9 (32:44):
And he opened it up and nearly died. And the
number two son said, I'm telling you now, Mum, if
you do that on my birthday, I'm walking and I'm
not coming back to the part.

Speaker 3 (32:54):
So did you just leave it at the first child.

Speaker 9 (32:57):
Yes, I did. I've still got all the teeth, second
and the puppy we had.

Speaker 1 (33:01):
At the human and dog together. You should open a
granny maze. You went to a lot of trouble clack
and teeth.

Speaker 3 (33:11):
Wow, thank you, Janita. What's your family heirloom?

Speaker 1 (33:17):
Hello?

Speaker 3 (33:18):
Hi, what's your family heirloom?

Speaker 16 (33:22):
Well, a few years ago my father passed away and
he got cremated, and I asked if I could have
his prosthetic leeds out of the kiln because they're titanium
and they don't burn. So I've got those and my
husband's made a windchime out of them and they're going
to pass them down with the kids. They have a

(33:46):
nice ring in the garden. My dad think it was hilarious.

Speaker 1 (33:49):
That's that's pretty close. You know, Mandy, you've got two
titanium here, I do. We could put that out in
the garden. Clank it away, Jack and Elton.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
John's had some jewelry, remember, made from his old discarded hips.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
That's it? Is it a nice chime.

Speaker 16 (34:06):
It's a beautiful chime, really nice because they're different shapes. Yes,
sounds great.

Speaker 1 (34:12):
There's dad in the backyard clanging away.

Speaker 3 (34:14):
Oh, I need to thank you.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
That's going for a walk. Thank you for We got.

Speaker 3 (34:18):
This email from from Sarah who couldn't come on, but
she's texted us or emailed us this family heirlooms. I'll
just read it as it is done. Roted. My friend
visited a house once where they had the baby boys
dried foreskin hanging up on the wall.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
Hanging up on the wall. How big was it?

Speaker 3 (34:39):
Well, it was probably framed.

Speaker 1 (34:44):
Use it as a fan built.

Speaker 3 (34:48):
You think about Yeah, think about your kids when you
think about it. Why are we making their lives uncomfortable?

Speaker 1 (34:54):
No, need is exhausting.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
You're listening to the Jonesy and the and a podcast. Yeah,
have so many requests for them to do it again.

Speaker 3 (35:08):
Should lay off the moonshine.

Speaker 4 (35:10):
Knocking a man, it's so weak.

Speaker 9 (35:13):
Knocking.

Speaker 1 (35:16):
Friday Field sessions last week team success with Alex Lloyd.
The next big viral thing next to Barnaby Joyce is
Eastern Rosella's I've left this up to you because you
say that I'm a huge control freak and I do

(35:37):
all this sort of stuff. I've arranged it and.

Speaker 3 (35:39):
Have you that you being in control?

Speaker 1 (35:41):
No, I'm not just saying and relax. Have you got
an email? Have you got any sort.

Speaker 3 (35:45):
Of Aerosmith in here? Would you be as picky?

Speaker 1 (35:51):
Aerosmith's not in here, No they're not, but he will be.
And I would be very picky if you got Aerosmith
because I have retired.

Speaker 3 (35:58):
Well that's how good I am ifles retired. Just trust me.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
I trust you because he's a big deal. You see,
the song has gone so viral.

Speaker 3 (36:07):
It's only been a week or so since they put
the song on Socials. It's available on Spotify. It's had
millions of views.

Speaker 1 (36:13):
Well, Ben Lee and Ballpark, did you see that?

Speaker 15 (36:22):
Like like this? This species.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
Beautiful? It's nice.

Speaker 3 (36:41):
This song is going to go belistened.

Speaker 1 (36:44):
Am I not wrong in saying Ballpark supported Oasis did that?

Speaker 3 (36:47):
You're not wrong in saying they did. They were amazing.
They're a huge live band. They're based in Brisbane, but
they are massive.

Speaker 1 (36:54):
O guess I'm just leaving you. This is all in
your pigeonhole.

Speaker 3 (36:57):
I'm talking to Myles. I'm talking to his dad. He's
back at all this week, Yes, dad, Miles.

Speaker 1 (37:03):
So the same class.

Speaker 3 (37:05):
On Friday. He will be in here performing that song live.

Speaker 1 (37:08):
Okay, Okay, I'm gonna.

Speaker 3 (37:10):
Trust me, hands off.

Speaker 1 (37:12):
I'm not prid.

Speaker 3 (37:13):
Yeah, thank you. Barnaby knows the new host of Mustard
Dogs anytime soon.

Speaker 1 (37:20):
We've been having great discussion about this charity. What was
it a charity gift to something like that?

Speaker 3 (37:26):
And so much of a discussion. You don't know, so yes,
a man. Well we'll discuss it all next.

Speaker 5 (37:30):
It's man woman's stuff, man woman's stuff.

Speaker 3 (37:34):
We'll be doing it next.

Speaker 1 (37:34):
That's coming up on gold like when you ask me
my opinion when it comes to man woman stuff, because
I am like oil on troubled waters when it comes
to war between sexes.

Speaker 3 (37:46):
Okay, well, i'll see what you think about this. I
don't know if it is man woman's stuff. Maybe it is.
Maybe all men aren't wouldn't do what this guy did,
which has created a bit of a ruction. Is that
a word? Yes, he's created a ruction on social media.
I'll let the internet tell you the story.

Speaker 10 (38:03):
Her husband one a luxury YSL makeup and skincare basket
at a company event, but instead of bringing it home,
he gave it to a female coworker. When his wife
said she was hurt, some people accused her of being
jealous and overreacting. The event was only for employees, while
his wife stayed home to care for their son. The
basket reportedly contained expensive makeup and skincare products worth hundreds
of dollars.

Speaker 3 (38:24):
So this is from Eve, Saint Laurent wires l huge
gift basket, beautifully presented, a whole lot of stuff. She's
at home looking after the baby. He's at this lunch,
he wins this, And this is what the wife has said.
She said, the feeling of being undervalued was violent. It
took my breath away. Not for one second did I
cross his mind. The existence of his own wife was

(38:46):
erased at that event. He preferred the smile and gratitude
of a co worker over mine. He preferred the social
applause for being the nice guy. When I confronted him,
the worst part came. He called me dramatic and crazy.
He said it would look bad from a man to
accept makeup in front of everyone, and he couldn't refuse it.
He told me this, laughing, proud of his generosity. To

(39:08):
top it off, the company took a photo of the
two of them together smiling with a gift and posted
on their official profile for everyone to see. The perfect
husband making another woman's day.

Speaker 1 (39:17):
Oh, come, come, come, she's.

Speaker 3 (39:19):
At home with the baby. She's presumably hormonal, lonely.

Speaker 1 (39:22):
He's providing shelter for the rain father and son and
all that stuff.

Speaker 3 (39:27):
Company lunch. So say this is you. Let's put you
in this situation. So you and I got a lot
of charity stuff. Say, for once, you bought a raffle ticket,
just say, I always buy it. I know, actually you do,
a manager. I'm very why you absolutely are. So say
you win a huge basket of something that Helen would love,
a big basket of expensive creams and makeup, and it

(39:50):
looks amazing. And to go home to that, go home
with that home looking up a baby, it would make
her day.

Speaker 1 (40:01):
Yeah yeah, Look we've been married for a long time,
so I know. But one day I was at a
charity function and they had those centerpieces in the table,
you know, those flowers and stuff. Av Yeah, and it's
a vase but it was all fake, but it was
orchards and all and it looked beautiful, and they the

(40:21):
raffle was for that. I okay, because I didn't want it,
but I won it, and I was about to do
exactly what this guy had done. But then my wife
appeared in my head. I love Orchards and I thought, okay,
So then I had to take it home on the
in the uber.

Speaker 3 (40:36):
Was it worth it?

Speaker 1 (40:36):
It was worth because she was not over the moon.

Speaker 3 (40:39):
But I think she found out you'd given to someone else.
And there's a big photo of the work event and
you you saying here, take this. I can see.

Speaker 1 (40:48):
But I will say this, this man's a young man.
I've been married for a long time, so that from
years of conditioning. And if you went back to young Jones,
he probably would have seen the basket, sell a fane basket.

Speaker 3 (41:01):
All that nothing I'm interested in.

Speaker 1 (41:02):
I don't want to be carrying it around if it
was well, firstly it's a girl thing, so I'll give
it to a girl, and then secondly I don't want
to be carrying around with it. So he hasn't thought
it through.

Speaker 3 (41:12):
But women are more emotional than men about these things.
If you're if I was at a charity event and
want a basket of tools, okay, yeah, and I'll say
you say, Helen was at a charity event, want a
big basket of tools of stuff? You would like a
big how about a big basket of beer, and she
gave it a guy next to her right because she

(41:32):
couldn't be bothered taking home. But she wasn't interested in
the beer. How would you feel?

Speaker 1 (41:36):
But then again, she said, I don't want to carry
around a big box of.

Speaker 3 (41:38):
Beer, and I gave it to a work colleague who
was sitting next to me because I didn't. I thought
that'd be a nice thing to do. What would you say?

Speaker 1 (41:47):
Look, you know what I think.

Speaker 3 (41:49):
I think your argument ends there. I look at your
face all pitched and scratch it.

Speaker 1 (41:55):
Well, I do what? Why don't we formulate an argument?
We've got the argument formulate away. We can what pub test?

Speaker 3 (42:04):
Okay, we'll ask you about.

Speaker 1 (42:05):
We'll do this next on gold.

Speaker 17 (42:07):
Jamais the pup tests pop test does not past the
pup test, hub taste test, up test subtest, the.

Speaker 1 (42:15):
Pup test doesn't pass the sniff test and stop it.

Speaker 2 (42:17):
It's not hepful.

Speaker 1 (42:18):
So we have formulated our for and against arguments for this.

Speaker 3 (42:23):
Here is the story that has gone viral this week.

Speaker 10 (42:26):
A husband one a luxury YSL makeup and skincare basket
at a company event, but instead of bringing it home,
he gave it to a female coworker. When his wife
said she was hurt, some people accused her of being
jealous and overreacting. The event was only for employees, while
his wife stayed home to care for their son. The
basket reportedly contained expensive makeup and skincare products worth hundreds
of dollars.

Speaker 1 (42:47):
Thank you, miss Ai dj Well, this is what the
wife has said.

Speaker 3 (42:51):
The fact that I did not for one second cross
his mind. He preferred the social applause of being the
nice guy. He told me he was proud of his generosity.
To top it off, the company took a photo of
the two of them together smiling with the gift and
posted it on their official profile. The perfect husband making
another woman's day. Someone here has said, which is obvious
his work wife. So make with that what you will.

(43:13):
What about this guy who said this is one man
who said I'd hand it to her. I ain't got
no use for that bag of beep. My wife can
go and buy her own, mister romance.

Speaker 1 (43:23):
What I'm saying here, it's a delicate it's a delicate
line that we're walking on here. And he's a young fellow,
he's got young kids. He's climbing the corporate ladder. This
will make him look like a hero amongst his colleagues.
And then I think you're reading all it into that.

Speaker 3 (43:38):
No, I think probably you were right the first time
when you said it's big, it's cumbersome, and not interested
in it. He's just passed it to her, and his
wife has said the fact he didn't think for a
second that she wouldn't like it. Yes, she should have.

Speaker 1 (43:51):
Nobody's there in the moment. Men are very pragmatic, and
you don't want to be stuck with a big bastle.

Speaker 3 (43:56):
As I said to you, if Helen was at at
an event she won an enormous basket of your favorite beer,
keep going and she thinks I don't have any use.

Speaker 1 (44:08):
For this carton of Melbourne, but I can't be bothered.

Speaker 3 (44:11):
I'm going to give it to mystic of sitting next
week because this will make smooth the way for me
at my office.

Speaker 1 (44:17):
A human I feel that this man is being judged,
and I feel men are pragmatic, So let's let's just
I'll just say this to you.

Speaker 3 (44:26):
You'd be so pragmatic, did you say, Helen give my
beer away?

Speaker 1 (44:29):
You know, I just have to accept it. But I
know that my wife knows me very well, she knows.

Speaker 3 (44:33):
Why is that different to this because the surly days
of marriage he's thinking.

Speaker 1 (44:37):
I think there's mitigating circumstances.

Speaker 3 (44:38):
You're saying, my wife would think of me. This guy
didn't think his wife, and that's where the herd comes out.

Speaker 1 (44:44):
Of course I get that, But you know, when he's
been married for thirty years, he's not going to make
this mistake again, that's my point. Capeche.

Speaker 5 (44:51):
Well, apparently they're broken up this well, I don't know
if that dies. But you know those baskets, cellophane, girly products.

Speaker 1 (44:59):
No, what's start. No one's got time for that.

Speaker 3 (45:01):
Well maybe he should have made time for that when
wife's time working out for the baby.

Speaker 1 (45:04):
Oh wa okay, well I'm going I'm getting a lecture.
I'm just doing it. I'm just giving you them.

Speaker 3 (45:11):
Here's how we're going to phrase it. Giving your coworker,
not your wife. The raffle gift?

Speaker 1 (45:17):
Does this pass the publish is man woman's stuff?

Speaker 16 (45:58):

Speaker 1 (45:59):

Speaker 3 (46:00):
I've forgot to run through the rules, Corey. Let let's
have a quick cough. What happens here is that we
have ten questions sixty seconds. If you get all the
way through those ten, you get one thousand dollars. But
you can turn into two thousand dollars by answering a
bonus question. But it's double or nothing.

Speaker 16 (46:15):

Speaker 3 (46:55):

Speaker 1 (47:03):

interesting in parliament?

Speaker 10 (47:12):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (47:14):
Mixed up? Dwight shrewt. Have you heard of the character
Dwight Shruth?

Speaker 9 (47:19):

Speaker 3 (47:19):
Never, he's in the Office the American series The Office.

Speaker 15 (47:23):

Speaker 1 (47:30):
Cory, Cory, thank you for playing.

Speaker 3 (47:34):
But I do wish aus Young political scene.

Speaker 1 (47:38):
It seems like anyone can give it a go these days.
Why not have that? Why not? Cory? Thank you? If
you'd like to be a part of Instagram, Jonesidemanda, dot Com,

Speaker 17 (47:49):
The pub test top test does not past the pup
test hub test to test.

Speaker 1 (47:54):
The test doesn't pass the stiff test. Stop it. It's
not helpful. The people of the Internet have come to
get that to express their collective outrage over her husband,
who allegedly won a very pricey East Saint Laurent gift bag.
He decided it instead of taking home to his wife he.

Speaker 3 (48:10):
Wanted at a work event event, he gave it to
his female colleague who was sitting next to him. His
wife is at home looking after the children. He's how
the story went.

Speaker 10 (48:18):
A husband won a luxury YSL makeup and skincare basket
at a company event, but instead of bringing it home,
he gave it to a female coworker. When his wife
said she was hurt, some people accused her of being
jealous and overreacting. The event was only for employees, while
his wife stayed home to care for their son. The
basket reportedly contained expensive makeup and skincare products worth hundreds
of dollars.

Speaker 1 (48:39):
Guys look at makeup as if as our woman would
look at tools.

Speaker 3 (48:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (48:44):
They are like a yeah, whatever. But it's a bad
given and I'm concerning behavior.

Speaker 3 (48:48):
It sounds like you said earlier, but I was scair enough.

Speaker 1 (48:51):
I will state this in needs defense as he's, you know,
putting on a little my wig. He's newly married, he's
hasn't got control all of his faculties, y am, I right, Yeah,
you're young. You don't have control of your faculties. What
do you think, Well, because men are very pragmatic. You
get a big cellophane basket and you think, oh, look
the girl next you. You just take it. Yeah, I

(49:13):
hasn't thought.

Speaker 11 (49:14):
I can understand the idea of taking it back to
your partner, for sure, But I like to come to
this guy's defense a little bit. If the gift is
in the work ecosystem, so to speak, I can understand
him going, oh, well, it's meant for someone who works here.

Speaker 1 (49:28):
My colleagues look like they really want it.

Speaker 3 (49:31):
His wife has said, because she's at home looking after
the baby. She has said, not for one second did
I cross his mind. That's the bit that he wanted
to play mister a nice guy in front of his colleagues.
But he should have thought of her first.

Speaker 1 (49:44):
But the work ecosystem.

Speaker 3 (49:46):
So if Helen's at a work ecosystem and there's an
enormous vat of Melbourne Bitter, your favorite beer, and she
thinks I'm at work, I'll give it to this man
sitting next to it, even though my husband without a
thought about you, How would you feel look at your
rubbing your.

Speaker 1 (50:00):
He used to work at a funeral home, so I
didn't want to bring home.

Speaker 3 (50:03):
In case of the smiling given your coworker, not your wife,
your raffle prize. Does this pass the pub test?

Speaker 9 (50:11):
That guy needs to be kicked.

Speaker 6 (50:13):
Whether he's been married one day or ten years.

Speaker 9 (50:15):
He first thought should have.

Speaker 6 (50:17):
Been to his wife.

Speaker 16 (50:18):
I would hang on to her, give it more.

Speaker 6 (50:20):
I think it doesn't pass the pub test, and he
shouldn't have done it in the first place.

Speaker 9 (50:24):
But when he did do it, if he didn't apologize to.

Speaker 6 (50:28):
Her for being thoughtless, he actually demeaned her even further,
and that's not okay either. I think it's an absolute disgrace.
He does not pass the pub test at all.

Speaker 9 (50:39):
I'm a senior manager, and if.

Speaker 1 (50:41):
He's trying to crawl up senior managers, then it wouldn't
cut up with me.

Speaker 4 (50:44):
I can tell you that.

Speaker 7 (50:45):
No, definitely not.

Speaker 8 (50:46):
He absolutely should have taken that home she's at home
with the baby. Even if she wasn't home with the baby.

Speaker 7 (50:52):
He shouldn't have given it to someone else.

Speaker 8 (50:54):
Definitely should have been for the wife. Should have his wife.

Speaker 1 (50:58):
It's not a good look.

Speaker 9 (51:00):
Could I'd be a little annoying, But then I'd expect
something bigger, like a bigger gift from my partner, like
a car.

Speaker 4 (51:07):
If I got givens up and those makeup or inflots
that I'll be thirst thing. I think I was my
wife and I'd take it home and give it to
her and she'd be wrapped. I'd be in the good
books then so and then I'd maybe get a present
later on maybe number two.

Speaker 3 (51:19):
I thought it was really interesting that you know someone
who said I'm on the executive level. If I saw
someone do that, that would not be good in my voys.

Speaker 1 (51:26):
As Ryan said, the work ecosystem.

Speaker 3 (51:28):
Well, the work boss is saying that's not what we
want in our eCos You're to stop kissing.

Speaker 1 (51:32):
But but right Friday yet, that's enough.
