proceed to do it.
Speaker 4 (00:49):
You hear a radio show doing that, you can know
they're on the skids, know that they're not going to
be here for much longer. But I'm a big fan
of helicopters. On this day in nineteen thirty one ish, except.
Speaker 3 (01:05):

I West thought that da Vinci, Leonardo da Vinci, he
had a practical drawing of the helicopter.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
What's practical meaning this sense? Because you said practical, the
first practical demo, the first practical drawing, what does it mean?
Speaker 4 (01:46):
It was a he had a drawing of helicopter and
that was in fourteen eighty one. Yeah, but to no available.
And you remember those magnificent men in their flying machines
more or less just wacky skybirds. But this the Germans,
they had the FW the fock Wolf, and that was
(02:06):
a practical helicopter in nineteen thirty six.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
Didn't help win the war, but there you go.

I've seen it from the last one, which is really
great backwards and then I watched the Glass Onion and
I'm yet to see knives out, but.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
I really like it all.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Excellent.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Let's play monster mash Elizabeth.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Let's kick off this, Elizabeth. This is where we've mashed
two songs together. Can you tell us what they are?
Speaker 5 (04:00):
Honey?
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Ryan can't do that?
Speaker 5 (04:09):
Man?
Speaker 3 (04:10):
How good? This time you've got a nerve, Rye, you

songs are.
Speaker 7 (04:21):
Elizabeth, completely different, John there, but we'll go with let
it be by the Beatles.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
That's one.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
Say yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
I imagine everyone has always wondered what they'd sound like together.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Yes, and now we know like nuts and gum.
Speaker 3 (04:41):

what name? A The bad Ass Girls, be the kick

created in nineteen ninety two as a student project called
the wood Pass Girls.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
Jami Ray wants to say something. Believe it's the Powerpuff girl. Yeah,
not powder Puff Girls.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
Oh but that's a powder Puff girl.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
No, it's a Powerpuff Girl.
Speaker 4 (05:25):
It's like I would imagine that you wouldn't have watched
it because you're older and you don't have girls in
your house.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
That is true. My daughter loved the power Puff Girls.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
I wonder why they didn't keep going with a wood
ass girl.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
I like the wool Basirls, but maybe there's too many
of those around. Don't you think the macaur on the
Arnot's logo is depicted doing what, Elizabeth?
Speaker 1 (05:45):
What's a doing?
Speaker 7 (05:48):
It has to be eating a biscuit.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
A biscuit.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
I wonder what its favorite biscuit is. It looks like
just a dry old cracker to me.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
Well, that's what Polly wants, a cracker. That's what they
used to eat.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
Elizabeth. You could be all the way Elizabeth.
Speaker 3 (05:59):

Speaker 3 (07:13):
Great softness.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
Do you ever run into our mate Rove when you're
walking the streets?
Speaker 2 (07:18):
Can't I ever have Rove?
Speaker 4 (07:20):
Can't walk the streets? As he says himself, he's a personality.
Speaker 7 (07:24):
We have privacy laws, so even if I hadn't in
my working environment, that's right.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
And how how is his bottom line on his phone number?
Speaker 1 (07:33):
Here?
Speaker 4 (07:34):
It's for three four one seven four four three four
If you want to talk to him, Elizabeth.
Speaker 3 (07:38):
Which I think that's your number, Elizabeth. We find ourselves here.
We as your number five. If you get this correct,
you get a double past SI Simple Minds. Here we go.
The hit musical Jersey Boys tells the legendary story of
which nineteen sixties rock and roll group.
Speaker 7 (07:57):

Speaker 3 (08:01):
And who was the lead singer of that? Someone in
the four seasons? Will give you a bit more time.
Speaker 8 (08:06):
Marshall, Marshall, Brickman.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
Listen, he the guy on lego.
Speaker 9 (08:13):
That's not.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
Elizabeth Elizabeth. I'm sorry, Well, we lost you at the
last hurdle, which gives, which gives Carl of Towns, Carl, Carl,
when you sweep in, Carl, Elizabeth was all the way, Elizabeth, Carl,

(08:38):
four seasons. But we need the lead singer. The hip
musical Jersey Boys tells the legendary story of which nineteen
sixties rock and roll group? So who and the four seasons?
Speaker 10 (08:51):
Four seasons?
Speaker 1 (08:54):
It's Frankie Valley in the four seasons. Carl. Congratulations.
Speaker 4 (08:59):
We've got no time to get your backstory, but I
can tell you about the price that you've won. You've
won a double pass to see Simple Minds Live. Simple

Speaker 4 (09:31):
It's Jonesy Demanda driving you home this Friday afternoon. You
know who's coming up on the show.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
I do know who it is. It's going to be Stephen.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
Curry, friend of the show. We do bandy that around
a fair bit, but he is.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
He's a good friend of the show.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
We've been around for a long time. We're gonna have
a lot of friends.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
He is like a quadruple threat. He can sing, he
can act, he can quip his like a bon vivant,
all those those little bits of armad you give away
after a wedding.
Speaker 4 (09:55):
You might remember him for many things, but now he's
in spam a lot. I didn't even realiz that he
was a big mighty Python fan, although I would say
that he is a big mighty.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
Python fan with a sense of the observed.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
Of course, I certainly love him.
Speaker 4 (10:07):
In the Castle I can watch that anytime if my
daughter ever comes over.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
We just put it on and we.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
She loved the bit where they come back, Where is
it the daughter? Tracy's back from a honeymoon and she's
was she in Thailand?
Speaker 1 (10:18):
There's kickboxing twenty four hours a day. So good.
Speaker 11 (10:21):
They bought Mama genuine roll there's for fifteen bucks off
a guard at the beach. He said he'd mail the
warranty later. I got a necklace with a shark tooth.
They got a walkman for Steve. Because it was Friday.
I told Trace I'd take Wayne's present to him. It
was an elephant, because elephants bring good luck, especially if
the trunks are up, and this trunk was up. It
really made Wayne's data.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
Oh the paper, it's beautiful.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
My favorite is Jenny. Jenny. Remember Jenny, Jenny.
Speaker 3 (10:48):
I reckon, you should make fake flowers. Oh yeah, Jenny
makes fake flowers.
Speaker 12 (10:52):
Jenny, Yeah Jenny, Jenny.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
No, Michael Wave Jenny.
Speaker 10 (10:55):
She reckons.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
The trick is to make them real, but not too real,
just real enough to know that they're fake.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Anyway.
Speaker 4 (11:01):
Stephen Curry is going to be Jody's next gem.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
Stephen Curry has been keeping us entertained for decades. We
played some of his earlier work The Castle and Absolute
Breakout Role, one of the most loved and iconic movies.
Of course he's played a little so many things. But
now he's becoming a king of a different castle. See
what I did there, he's taking on. Thank you, Stephen,
wait till I finished.
Speaker 4 (11:24):
Keep's fader down, Ryan, You're not supposed to pipe in
during the intra.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
Roll of King Arthur in his musical theater debut in
another cult classic, Monty Python's Spam a lot, Stephen Curry, hark, I.
Speaker 4 (11:36):
Let the fader up here he is, am I coming
through clearly, however you are. You're coming to us from
your den. I can see behind you. You got some
children's artwork or are they your own artworks?
Speaker 9 (11:49):
Well, I'll put them up for you because they remind
me of the artworks that you send me. Jones advance
and there's a lot of fingerwork involved.
Speaker 4 (11:58):
And to the left the left you your you. Is
that a yellow Valiant regal?
Speaker 8 (12:03):
Look at that, the old Valee Valiant Regal. It was.
Speaker 9 (12:07):
It was our family car growing up. Had my fiftieth
birthday and my sister decided to put my head as
Dale Kerrigan coming out of the back of it, right.
Speaker 4 (12:16):
You know, I remember those in the back in the
old days before we all woke and everyone had to
have child seats in the back of a car. How
woke weed all jump in the back of station wagon
and that's that's where you just sat.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
You would just sit in the back of the station
wagon like cargo. Yeah.
Speaker 9 (12:32):
Well, as the youngest of five, it was just me
and the dog and all the bags, and we look
got to look out the back window to see who
was about to kill us.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
So they are indelible memories from stressful times. Great, let's
talk about spam a Lot. This is your musical theater
day boom? How does how does that work?
Speaker 9 (12:50):
Because no one was stupid enough to cast me in
anything to this point. It's interesting, isn't it. After thirty
five odd years of being in the entertainment and I've
kind of always watched.
Speaker 8 (13:02):
Musicals from afar and thought I'd like to do that.
Speaker 9 (13:04):
But I don't want to do anything too serious, And
so spam a Loot came along, and every bit in
spam Alot that gets supposedly serious is the most ridiculous
thing you've ever seen, so I thought, bang, right up
my alley, let's go to be.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
In musical theater. There's a certain stamina and consistency and
resilience involved. This is I know you've done your own
shows before, but night after night after night, how are
you training for this?
Speaker 9 (13:29):
I have seven understudies, so I fear that I'll probably
only do one shot.
Speaker 8 (13:36):
I hope that the reviews are good.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
A hangmail and you're out.
Speaker 8 (13:40):
Look.
Speaker 9 (13:40):
You know what the great thing about musical theater, right
when you're a bit of an outsider to this, to
this particular platform, is that there are heads of people
who dance really well and can dance night after night
and can do the can can and can do all
the stuff that I frankly can't do. But what I
can do is really stupid faces. And I can hold
(14:01):
a note.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
You are you are the King.
Speaker 4 (14:02):
I always remember Dale when he's on the on the
lake there and he's just pulling that rude head and
he's when he's out fishing for carp Yeah.
Speaker 9 (14:10):
My career has been basically a series of facial expressions.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
Have you had to ensure your facial muscles?
Speaker 8 (14:19):
Yeah, it's basically like Jennifer Lopez.
Speaker 9 (14:23):
My facial expressions are ensured for never you mind how much,
but it's you know how, you know how Elon must
just became a trillionaire.
Speaker 8 (14:33):
He looks at me and he thinks, if.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
Only your your face, j Lo's.
Speaker 9 (14:38):
Bum, that's get the money. I have to have my
face mangled in some sort of unfortunate accident.
Speaker 3 (14:43):
So it might be worth it. The family is angling
for that.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
This is this is what we're all about.
Speaker 4 (14:48):
Recently, I watched an interview someone asked Harrison Ford what
Indiana Jones would say to Hands Solo if they were
to meet.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
So I'll pitch this question to you.
Speaker 4 (15:00):
A j Walker, the character you played in Ten Pounds Palms,
what would he say to Dale Kerrigan and vice versa.
Speaker 8 (15:07):
He'd say, get a job, grow up, move out.
Speaker 9 (15:10):
I often get asked if there would be a sequel
to the Castle, and I said, well, it wouldn't be
that good because Dale would definitely be still living at home.
Speaker 8 (15:17):
He'd be just dig in.
Speaker 9 (15:19):
The odd hole and basically achieving nothing for society.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
And I think and I think the older brother was
still in jail. He'd be I recidivist, but he.
Speaker 8 (15:28):
Just fell in with the wrong crowd. He didn't mean
to rob.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
The That's what they all say. And then he's back
in jail again.
Speaker 8 (15:34):
Yeah, we should pitch this to working dogger. I can't
imagine that problem, Steve.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
It's all. It's great to talk to you for tickets,
had to.
Speaker 8 (15:43):
Did we talk about spam a lot?
Speaker 1 (15:45):
Yeah we did.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
You're not dancing, you're going to gourn a bit.
Speaker 8 (15:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
And you've got seven extras?
Speaker 3 (15:51):
No seven?
Speaker 7 (15:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (15:53):
Seven understudies, well, actually a man one of them. What
are your nights like a man of I'm already.
Speaker 3 (15:57):
Booked for the Tuesday, the Thursday.
Speaker 8 (16:00):
Gay, great, great, great, great?
Speaker 9 (16:01):
Okay, I'm on cooking duty at home.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
And I'll just keep my phone off silent in case.
Speaker 8 (16:06):
You just in case, just keep it there. You never
know when it might ring, but I know you wait
daily anyway.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
Ticketmaster dot com dot au Stephen Curry, thank you.
Speaker 9 (16:18):
You guys are legends.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
I love you.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
You're listening to the Jonesy and Amanda podcast. Now, by
the miracle of recording, jones and Amanda and Amanda are
two great names.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
I'm not a scatter.
Speaker 5 (16:33):
That's the chemistry between them. But how much, let's.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
Realigned your own business and shut your piehole.
Speaker 2 (16:38):
I wish you were with your jol.
Speaker 4 (16:39):
So much has been going on this week what we
failed to mention. I'm glad I've picked up this now.
The aren't Scotch Finger biscuit has been voted as Australia's
favorite biscuit of twenty twenty six according to Canst Blue survey.
Speaker 3 (16:54):
Talk about kicking the hornets nest. That's my favorite biscuit
is kicking the hornet's nest.
Speaker 11 (16:58):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
Because people are going to agree, people are going to disagree.
It's going to start a conversation about biscuits.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
And you think the Irish adobe you.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
Said at the beginning of the show, not that terrible
joke is at the beginning of the show that on
this day information is of lazy radio. What's your favorite
biscuit comes a close second. And that's what we're also
going to be doing this out.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
And I would have said this, We're not playing into
the arn. It's people's hands. Okay, I don't care if
we are. We know he's our address. What the hell
it is Friday?
Speaker 4 (17:27):
But you know the Scotch finger, I like, did you
ever try the Scotch finger with the chocolate on the bottom.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
There's a Scotch finger that's got chocolate white.
Speaker 3 (17:34):
It on the bottom. It's only halfway up.
Speaker 4 (17:36):
No, not even halfway. It's just what the base of
it is in there. Oh yeah, it's good. Remember I
like the Monte Carlo biscuit. That was a great biscuit.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
Yeah, there was the Monte Carlo. Actually that's one that
you know. Okay, it was a Monte Carlo, just that
plain crinklish thing.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
And it's got cream and jam in the middle.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
Right.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Yeah, and there's a chocolate Monty.
Speaker 4 (17:59):
Remember I have some years ago about why don't they
have a chocolate Monte Carlo biscuit? And you little Red
hen me on that I formulated. I got a Monty
color biscuit, shrouded it in chocolate. The ARNTS people were interested.
I went to their factory, had a meeting and boardroom.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
Even wore a white coat.
Speaker 4 (18:17):
I think every time I spoke to you, you so
little Red hend me. I'm not interested. I'm not doing this.
I'm not doing this. He's going to make me be
a bit. Didn't have anything to do with it, and
it's green lighted. The project for sure. Made gave some
away that my biscuit, the chocolate Monte Carlo. They packaged
it and what did they call it?
Speaker 3 (18:37):
It was a brilliant day. When they arrived. We opened
the box and the packaging said the chocolate Monty Keller. Yeah,
the look on your face was priceless.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
You ought to be a shamed.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
I've still got a packet of them at het.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
Anyway, this is something we could put to the bup test.
It's coming up. Also coming up kids, going back to
the iPod.
Speaker 4 (18:56):
It's happening. We'll talk about that on gold Breaking News.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
Tell me, don't I do the noise? If you want
to do that kind of breaking news.
Speaker 1 (19:06):
Yeah, you know, I think I've got a bit too
hard on the breaking news.
Speaker 3 (19:10):
Just how about just some small information. I've got a
headline for that too. Okay, here's some information.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
Okay, very good.
Speaker 4 (19:21):
Gen Z are swapping their smartphones for iPods to enjoy
music without distractions.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
It seems gen Z. How old is that? Gen Z?
Speaker 4 (19:31):
Jem I Raie is older than gen Z. Okay, so
gen Z and iPods.
Speaker 3 (19:36):
Remind me remember the iPod?
Speaker 1 (19:37):
You put nine thousand songs on there.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
Yeah, and you put your headphones in and it can
shuffle it and all the.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
Half binges of doom. You used to sell a commercial radio.
If you the iPod will kill commercial radio in your face.
iPods are gone.
Speaker 4 (19:49):
They're kind of coming back, but they're coming back in
that cute fashion.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
How record players came back. So hipsters now have records. Goodness,
my son's there. We had a chat about exactly that
same thing.
Speaker 3 (20:05):
There are one hundred dollars records are one hundred dollars
for the record, for the record, exactly for the record.
Speaker 4 (20:12):
I'm still not I am not that sentimental about records
because in the old days, when I was weddings, parties, anything, DJ,
you'd have to lug your records around in milk crates.
So the gen z's they're going back to this the iPod.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
It's surprised.
Speaker 4 (20:27):
It's called friction maxing. So they don't want infinite streaming.
They want to load songs in one by one and
enjoy it as they put it in, so algorithm doesn't.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
Put it through, right, So songs you have selected for yourself.
Speaker 4 (20:41):
Yeah yeah, yeah, so you select, you hand picked these songs.
It's like what we used to do when we make
a mixtape in the in the day, and you'd have
to record it off the radio before the DJ talked
all over the intro of Jump.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
By Van Halen.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
You've become that person.
Speaker 4 (20:56):
No, well, I'm a big fan of talking about the
intro of a song. You know, when you get into that,
like a good intro of a song, you know, the
city by the ber, the City of the rocks, the
city that never sleeps, and then boom you hit the post.
That's when the lyric kicks in and kiss of death
if you crash that vocal.
Speaker 3 (21:12):
But also for kids that would record it, your voice
going up to the poster, as you say, would be
on their mixtape for years.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
Yeah, well I was a kid. I used to like that.
I used to be in it for the DJ Stuf
Casey case Yeah. So after I left doing weddings, parties,
editing and lugging the records around in the milk crates,
I went into radio and we were still playing records.
We had the forty five's and the thirty threes in
the album covers and all you had to do on
a radio show Back then, it was not really what
(21:41):
you said.
Speaker 1 (21:42):
It was about how well you got your stuff together.
Speaker 4 (21:45):
So you had all your commercials, your ads and all
those things were played on these little cartridges. You had
real to real tapes, and you had your records and
then later on CDs.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
So these days this thing runs itself. Anyone can do this, so.
Speaker 3 (21:59):
The job description quite different. So it's purists, though, that
are bringing these things back. So it's purists who a
bringing back the records. Will purest bring back a CD
because I mean, that's a nice Your.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
Kids will bring back the CD. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
I like the idea of the iPod that it's your songs,
your selection.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (22:15):
Wow, I'm going to make up a little mixtape for
you with me SAgs twenty six degree.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
He is top and the Grave.
Speaker 3 (22:23):
Certainly won't be my slip tape. Jonesy and Amanda listen to.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
The podcast whenever you want with the free iHeart at.
Speaker 5 (22:31):
The pub test.
Speaker 8 (22:31):
Top test does not past the pub test, Hub.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
Test tests, put subtest.
Speaker 4 (22:36):
The pub test doesn't pass the slip test, and stop it.
It's not helpful and today, and we're not in league,
we're not in cohots with Arnot's.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
But I'd be happy to be.
Speaker 1 (22:45):
By the way, it's a.
Speaker 4 (22:46):
Good Friday pub test which Biscuit passes the pub test.
Speaker 3 (22:50):
Yes, apparently, Australia has voted for the Scotch Finger as
their favorite biscuit.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
Yeah, you pull a.
Speaker 3 (22:59):
Face when I said, do you not like them? When
you snap them in half and you go donkey donkey.
Speaker 4 (23:03):
I like the one that's got a chocolate bottom. That's
nice bottom. I'm a big fan of the Monte Carlo.
I did invent the chocolate Monte Carlo, which was swooped
upon by you at the last minute, and the naming
rights went to you. It became the chocolate Montickella. I
did all the work. I did the research. I went
along for PowerPoint presentation.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
The world works, baby.
Speaker 4 (23:24):
I'm sorry you swoop on down after getting the green lights.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
Star power kicked in and they suddenly the biscuits were
named after me.
Speaker 1 (23:31):
You said you got this leggy nomination. You really had changed.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
I you know what, I like a Kingston No, you know,
the biscuits I don't like. I don't like any biscuit
that says it's chocolate but it's not real chocolate. Oreo,
a chocolate flavored biscuit, I have no interest in. It's
got to have actual chocolate on it.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
An a, they're really good.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
I don't get it. It's just a biscuit. Why would
you bang on it it's chocolate, there's no chocolate on it.
Speaker 4 (23:57):
Let's bring Jen my Ryan on this. I've feel that
you might have some expertise.
Speaker 8 (24:01):
I like the on it's chocolate chip cookie.
Speaker 4 (24:04):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. We're getting them in our coal's
order recently.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
And they called a biscuit a cookie, not a biscuit.
A lot of people would be upset if they're called
a cookie.
Speaker 4 (24:15):
That's the one I was telling you about. You get
a little bit of ice cream in between the two biscuits.
You got yourself an ice cream yum sandwich.
Speaker 3 (24:20):
Which interesting. The one of the lowest ranked biscuits was
the Tiny Teddies. And once again even they say chocolate,
they're not chocolate, they're just brown.
Speaker 1 (24:30):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (24:31):
Well, and they they said they had they only scored
three in satisfaction, in value for money, in packaging, and
in variety, and the two that has got a two
in taste and texture.
Speaker 1 (24:43):
What about it? People don't like the Tiny Teddy A digestive.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
A digestive was way up the mcvaty's digestives. We're in
the top.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
Five Mcvitty's Digestive.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
They're quite nice. They're slightly sweet. You know, I'm the
ones that are slightly oval shaped.
Speaker 1 (24:59):
Those we that's a you know, what's that one?
Speaker 3 (25:03):
What's the you're thinking of the arrowroot? I've got a
friend whose husband said her shoulders resembled an arrowroot biscuit? No,
have you got a picture of the McVitty there? Ryan?
Speaker 1 (25:14):
You know what do we google in every biscuit? What
about their chocolate wheaten?
Speaker 3 (25:18):
I love a chocolate WHEATN. I remember Mom used to
bring home a packet and she said, well, I say,
can I have another one month? Well, if you've eaten them,
then they're all gone and that's it.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Yeah, is that when your mum said you put out
a bit of condition?
Speaker 3 (25:33):
Why do you have to ruin every conversation with a
bad fat moment?
Speaker 4 (25:37):
You've heard what we've had to say. I'm not sure
Ryan's got a picture of the McVitty. It just looks
like a chocolate wheatn.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
What makes a digestive a biscuit?
Speaker 1 (25:46):
I don't know, But am I mister biscuit?
Speaker 3 (25:49):
I don't You've never missed a biscuit while I've been
around you.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
We're not getting into bed with mister biscuit.
Speaker 4 (25:55):
Crum with big biscuit, Baby, Why don't.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
You call us?
Speaker 4 (26:01):
Thirteen fifty five twenty two which biscuit passes the pub
test gem Nation.
Speaker 10 (26:07):
The pub Test top Test does not past the pub test,
Hub Test tests, pup Test subtest.
Speaker 1 (26:13):
The pub test doesn't pass the Sliff test. Stop it.
Speaker 2 (26:15):
It's not helpful.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
We haven't been hit by pr marketing in any way.
Speaker 11 (26:20):
Well.
Speaker 3 (26:20):
The Scotch Finger has been voted as Australia's favorite biscuit
of twenty twenty six according to who Well, actually according
to Canstar, not according to arnex to Canstar a survey
that it's survey two and a half thousand Australians to
survey sweet biscuits at the supermarkets in the last six months.
Scotch Finger has been a staple in Australian households for
(26:41):
over one hundred and twenty years and it's come out
on top.
Speaker 1 (26:43):
I know they're crunchy, golden good with a crunch that's
just made to share.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
That's not the ad, is it. I'm pretty sure do
you dunk them?
Speaker 9 (26:52):
No?
Speaker 1 (26:53):
No, lick them no, because then you get the residue
in your tea. I don't like that.
Speaker 3 (26:58):
I like a mincel I. As I said earlier, I
don't like to be duped by biscuits to say they're chocolate.
They're just chocolate colored or chocolate flavored. Don't waste my time.
I want real chocolate.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
Monty Carlo love it? Not the city? Well, I do
like Monty Carlo the city.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
But Carlo the city have a soft, gooey center. Maybe
it does.
Speaker 4 (27:20):
I think there's parts you might end up and then
you're in trouble if your wif I like a Kingston.
Speaker 1 (27:25):
I don't understand Kingston what it means.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
It's Paramela and chocolates. Yeah, all right, Well let's see
what you think. Which biscuit passes the pub test.
Speaker 13 (27:36):
Mint flight.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
Of course, with the dark chocolate, you know, dome and
the and the minkiness in the middle.
Speaker 9 (27:43):
You can't go past left.
Speaker 4 (27:45):
So I'd have to be the Monte Carlo, wouldn't it,
The crunchy outside and then the good gouey center.
Speaker 2 (27:49):
Mate, can't eat it.
Speaker 13 (27:50):
It's definitely the Kingston, the crunch on the outside and
then the chocolate in the middle. I suppose it's always
been a favorite, like the whole packet, just a little
an accident.
Speaker 7 (27:58):
The mint life part of the pub test in my house.
When I was pregnant with my daughter, I could not
get enough of anything shock mint, so mince lifeless a
way to go, and she now is absolutely obsessed with anything.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
Chocolin as well.
Speaker 13 (28:13):
To be honest, I don't think any biscuit passes the
pub test because I unfortunately.
Speaker 7 (28:17):
Am gluten free. So if I do want to indulge
in a biscuit, I would have to take out a
mortgage because they're so expensive.
Speaker 3 (28:25):
Wow, expensive to buy a gluten free biscuit.
Speaker 1 (28:28):
It sucks to be intolerant, doesn't it, Brendan.
Speaker 3 (28:31):
I think it's a message for our times.
Speaker 1 (28:34):
Thank you for all your calls sham.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
Often when I come across Australian vernicular and that's.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
Not I think you climb a mountain, that's a funicula.
Speaker 3 (28:45):
It's a nicular like a cable car thing.
Speaker 4 (28:49):
No, that was not a cable car so much because
it's it's on the ground, it's terrestrially mounted.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
If you go to interlace and you'll get on nicola.
Speaker 3 (28:59):
Have you fallen into a grabble heap?
Speaker 1 (29:01):
I think I have it is Friday.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
I do you mean it's like a seeing that a
smoky dows in chair going up a hill.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah right yeah.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
Well anyway, this isn't that. But from when I hear
Australian slang old Australian talk, yep, you, I don't know
anyone in the real world who talks.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
Like that, apart from you, me and Brian Brown.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
Yeah, and I don't think he does in real life.
Speaker 4 (29:25):
He does when you're standing as to Brian Brown, when
I hear him say fair dinkm One time I heard
him say that guy's.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
A deal and I started weeping because he is what Australia.
Speaker 3 (29:35):
Looking at you?
Speaker 1 (29:39):
No, he wasn't looking at well.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
I've got I've got some names here, nicknames for workmates
in Australia, and I reckon because you've done a thousand trades, yep.
I think you probably have used or been called some
of these.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
And can I just say master of none of them?
But I've done a lot of them.
Speaker 3 (29:56):
What do you if I was to say, wicket keeper.
Speaker 4 (29:59):
Puts gloves on and stands back and watches nice Harvey Norman,
Harvey Norman, three years no interest.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
That built that shops to drive past it said, mattresses
no interest?
Speaker 4 (30:13):
Get married it was like curves the ladies Jim, and
it just said curves out the back.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
How about sensor light.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
Sense light only works if someone walks past nice noodles.
Speaker 3 (30:23):
I hadn't heard of this one.
Speaker 1 (30:24):
Noodles thinks all jobs take two minutes.
Speaker 4 (30:27):
Ask his wife. Lantern landon or not very bright and
has to be carried everywhere. Deck chair deck chair always
folds under pressure.
Speaker 3 (30:37):
If you were calling someone, he's a bit of a perth.
Speaker 1 (30:40):
Three hours pint everyone else.
Speaker 4 (30:44):
That's that's timing wise about g spot gee spot You
never find.
Speaker 3 (30:49):
Him Bushranger holds over it up. Will Burrow has to
be carried or any works when he's pushed. Yep, limo
or actually limo would be a good thing to be.
I was like me, carries everyone, okay, cordless. I charge
this all night, but it only works two hours. How
about this one foreskin for skin? Ah, I don't I
(31:14):
don't think I should let you hazard a guess. No
one disappears when things get hard. How about the sniper's nightmare.
Speaker 1 (31:26):
You can find him one leg short on the other.
Speaker 4 (31:30):
That's his work place bullying f post uh oh, that's
a good one.
Speaker 3 (31:37):
Takes credit for everything. I love this one, Milo ah,
because he's not quick. What about this one? Didn't you
used to call someone's show back?
Speaker 1 (31:50):
Oh yeah, showa shoe, thank you, thank you.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
You're listening to the Jonesy and Demanda podcast.
Speaker 1 (31:58):
Yeah, it's going to request for them to do it again.
Speaker 6 (32:00):
Jen Z.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
Should lay the moonshine.
Speaker 9 (32:05):
He's always knocking a man.
Speaker 5 (32:06):
It's so weak, always.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
Knocking Friday Field sessions. How well are they going?
Speaker 3 (32:15):
I've really enjoyed the friday Field session.
Speaker 4 (32:17):
Just in as many weeks we have had three premier artists.
We had Amber Lawrence, He's just.
Speaker 10 (32:24):
The applause, just another cause made a meal out of
me and had to come back.
Speaker 1 (32:30):
Then there was Richard Clapton. Where's time.
Speaker 11 (32:36):
We will?
Speaker 3 (32:37):
We are the best teams of our line, sir?
Speaker 1 (32:41):
He does, And then James Ray.
Speaker 5 (32:44):
Sing Song Dance.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
Far Man show No, No, No No Today.
Speaker 3 (32:56):
Then are you going to blab? Arena blab?
Speaker 5 (32:58):
Why should we blad?
Speaker 1 (32:59):
Or should we sit on that train?
Speaker 3 (33:00):
Let's sit on our treasure?
Speaker 1 (33:01):
Okay, well, let's just say we get one but.
Speaker 3 (33:03):
Four performers who are going to be joining us to
sing one of the world's most famous songs. I would say.
Speaker 1 (33:11):
Yes, I would say. So, that's a very it's a
very scant clue.
Speaker 3 (33:18):
Oh, I know who they are.
Speaker 4 (33:20):
I know exactly who they are. Friday Field sessions coming up.
Also Instagram if you would like to play Jonesidamanda dot
com dot au.
Speaker 1 (33:29):
On gold.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
Well, I'll tell you what if you love Jersey Boys.
This is a very special reunion. More than fifteen years
after the original Australian production it took the country by storm,
the four original stars are getting back together for Jersey Forever,
a one light only concert celebrating the music of Frankie
Valley in the Four Seasons. Here they are Bobby, Glaston,
(33:53):
Scott and Stephen.
Speaker 1 (33:57):
I'm walking here, I'm walking.
Speaker 3 (34:01):
Fifteen years since the first production. Does it feel like
you're slipping into an old shoe? Have you all just
gone straight back in?
Speaker 5 (34:10):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (34:10):
It very much?
Speaker 9 (34:11):
Is that?
Speaker 14 (34:12):
I mean, it's been a long it's been a long
time between drinks in terms of like actually dusting off
the cobwaves, getting the voice back together, getting the moves
back together. But it was literally kind of like the
first time that we stood in front of the mirror
in the with the four microphone stands and I went,
oh yeah, that's right, and we do. We do this
and immediately once you see those shapes start to having
(34:33):
of those those like choreographic shapes, the shoulders and the
angles and everything, it just we feel it's just easily.
Speaker 6 (34:40):
We're a group, we're.
Speaker 14 (34:42):
A band, straight straight.
Speaker 3 (34:43):
Away, and were thrilled that you could all do up
your jackets.
Speaker 14 (34:47):
Well, they were specially made for us. I had these
ones specially made. There some of the parameters may have
side adjustments here and there, but we do have the technology.
Speaker 1 (34:56):
So well, we're all looking pretty good. I must commend you.
I saw you where I was at Channel nine.
Speaker 4 (35:01):
I saw you in the studio and you were wearing
the jackets and they're still holding up quite well some
hours later, so that is exactly right.
Speaker 14 (35:09):
And even since then, since we saw your Channel nine,
we did two hours of promo. We just did promo
shooting for on phones, just shout outs and ticket giveaways
and all of that stuff that's coming up. Of course, Well,
we are just we certainly are making putting these brand
new red jackets to use that.
Speaker 3 (35:25):
Sure, why is this show? Why are these songs so enduring?
Fifteen years later? People still know all the words and
still want to see it again. What is it about
these songs?
Speaker 15 (35:34):
Well, well, some music is kind of timeless, isn't it.
Like I think that's part of Frankie Valley's music is
that it did last over so many decades. You know,
they had the big hits in the fifties, but then
what a night? What was the eighties when it came out?
So we're talking three decades of hits that he made,
and I think the power of the songwriting really still
(35:56):
just last the test of times.
Speaker 14 (35:58):
And to me coming back to it, of course, you know,
you think you're a good singer when you're first starting
it out and you get a bit of bravado and
you're like, oh, I've got all the notes and whatever.
And then you come back to it later and you
listen back to Frankie and you go, oh, I know nothing.
I know nothing about singing. And there's so much depth
and there's so much storytelling. Frankie Valley's idol was Frank Sinatra,
(36:22):
and he studied Frank Sinatra and he said, the thing
was Frankie with Frank was that you knew he meant
every single word that he sang. And that was the
thing that he wanted to achieve with his So when
you listen to actually Frankie's voice and songs like walk like.
Speaker 1 (36:39):
A Man, he's actually given a lot of that street.
Speaker 14 (36:42):
And a lot of that rasp and a lot of
that as well as those pingy high notes. He was
really using all of his tools for this tiny guy.
I mean, we all met Frankie and like, I might
look short next to these guys because they're all six
three and six one, But Frankie's down here, He's a
tiny little.
Speaker 1 (36:58):
He's still going.
Speaker 4 (36:58):
There was a bit of controversy, the people saying that
he shouldn't be getting up there performing, but I'm thinking it's.
Speaker 3 (37:03):
A bit like elder abuse.
Speaker 1 (37:05):
Yeah, but if he's still doing and if he wants
to do it, then why not do it well?
Speaker 14 (37:09):
Because I mean, if we said it in the show,
Frankie was at home when he was on stage, he
is an old man. We know that we're looking at
the guy. But the thing is, it's about what's the
next show. It's that drive forward, And for him, the
darkest points of his life were when he wasn't able
to be on stage. Because it's not just about money.
(37:32):
It is about purpose and it is about getting up
and it is about, well, I've got to stay together
and what's the next idea and what's the next fresh
thing we can do. I mean, you guys would know
that even just being at any sort of level of entertainment,
it's like, what is the next thing I want to
sort of create, you know, always sort of evolving.
Speaker 1 (37:48):
So I do this for free a man who does
it for money, but I just love it.
Speaker 14 (37:51):
That's very nice of you.
Speaker 3 (37:53):
Signed a terrible contract I get.
Speaker 4 (37:56):
In livestock and just to be in the presence of
a man. Friday Field Sessions Today. What are we playing today?
Speaker 1 (38:03):
Fellas? What song are we going to do?
Speaker 11 (38:05):
What are we doing?
Speaker 5 (38:05):
Boys to Night?
Speaker 6 (38:08):
Absolute party Banger, Frankie.
Speaker 4 (38:12):
Seasons, Jimi Rise Here, We've got the keyboard, the drums
and all the stuff in here. Ah yeah, this is
Amanda on the Okay, no, but we'll just set up.
Speaker 1 (38:20):
We'll come back. Okay, good stuff.
Speaker 3 (38:23):
That machine's working.
Speaker 14 (38:25):
I've been since three o'clock, so then I'm ready to.
Speaker 4 (38:29):
Bobby's on Fire. Okay, stand by coming up. We've got
Jersey Boys and we're going to be doing What to
Night on Gold.
Speaker 1 (38:37):
F FS. The Friday Fields Sessions.
Speaker 3 (38:40):
This is very exciting. We have the well the Jersey Boys,
but the show is called Jersey Forever, fifteen years after
they performed as the original Jersey Boys in the show
a one night only, big, amazing.
Speaker 1 (38:52):
Amazing show. They've just been doing their vocal exercises and.
Speaker 3 (38:57):
Doing some dance, practicing spinning on the carpet, which isn't easy.
Speaker 1 (39:00):
They didn't ask us to dance. It's probably a good thing.
Speaker 6 (39:03):
Well, it's never too late.
Speaker 3 (39:04):
Yes it is too far.

country and Western guy.

Speaker 1 (46:07):
That's why we have someone else to do all the work.
Digital Jenna. She comes with her own intromis.
Speaker 2 (46:12):
Jenna, and she loves cats.
Speaker 3 (46:15):
Snapcha.
Speaker 2 (46:15):

social media dance dick.
Speaker 1 (46:23):
What's pop'en hunt.
Speaker 3 (46:26):
That phrase for one?
Speaker 13 (46:27):
Yes, Well, It's been a massive week across the Jonesy
in Amanda socials and it all.
Speaker 12 (46:32):
Started with the conspiracy that the World Cup is reaged.
Speaker 3 (46:35):
Yes, there's a whole list that has been printed for
the last maybe fifty years.
Speaker 12 (46:40):
Yes, from nineteen thirty to twenty forty two.
Speaker 3 (46:43):
That apparently has predicted the World Cup. But first of all,
I thought someone's psychic. But know what they're saying is
that FIFA has rigged it.
Speaker 13 (46:50):
Yes, yes, So it's received over ten million views across
our socials with thousands of likes and comments. So Nash says,
I'm going to save this video and keep it, while
Jack adds with how Portugal have been playing so far,
I highly doubt that.
Speaker 3 (47:06):
Well Portugal are tipped to win it according to that list.
Speaker 1 (47:10):
Yes, yes, and the Simpsons as well.
Speaker 12 (47:13):
Yes, a lot of people pointed that out as well
as did you.
Speaker 13 (47:17):
Another video doing the rounds is this week's TikTok Tucker,
where we made the two ingredient cupcake recipe involved mixing
cake mix and soft drink.
Speaker 3 (47:26):
Yes, and it wasn't it stuck to the paddy containers?
Is that what you call them as little pagan patty cakes?
Makes it stuck to the bottom and it tasted like
sand or play dough.
Speaker 8 (47:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (47:38):
Well, people had some beef with your response to the results,
Dean commented this recipe legit works when it's cooked properly.
Speaker 12 (47:48):
Yes. Well, Heather messaged us saying my hubby made it
last week using Fanta. It was great.
Speaker 5 (47:54):
Fan wrong.
Speaker 1 (47:55):
Well, I think we used diet cake. There was no
sugar and they're just fruckchasting.
Speaker 3 (47:58):
Maybe that we're using that tiny pretend oven.
Speaker 4 (48:01):
Yeah, maybe little Barbie electric light oven did help Peter,
and maybe you toasted up.
Speaker 3 (48:08):
Maybe I did.
Speaker 13 (48:10):
On another note, it's time for digital Jenners. This is
where I choose my favorite contributor of the week. Who
will receiver bespoke tin hat made by a.
Speaker 3 (48:19):
Man an eve minute now, I'll get onto that.
Speaker 13 (48:22):
And this week it goes to Reggie, who actually commented
a really beautiful thing after we announced that you were
nominated for a LOGI.
Speaker 12 (48:31):
She writes, No one deserves it more.
Speaker 13 (48:34):
I've been watching you for years and you've always brought
me joy and delight as well as information, always insightful
and kind, an Australian gem in my eyes.
Speaker 1 (48:43):

aut that's enough. Well, well, we won't be here for
a couple of weeks.
Speaker 1 (49:19):
I know we're on holridays.
Speaker 3 (49:20):
This is what the wireless does. We all take holidays
at the same time. So off we go, but we'll
be back in a couple of weeks.
