Speaker 1 (00:03):
Ready, Jim? Everybody online.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
The Jonesy and Amanda Show.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
Gorgeous Amanda.
Speaker 4 (00:13):
Mistress Amanda is delivering discipline.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
It hurts, but someone's got to do it.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
Bad Amanda, bad, bad Amanda. Am I going to see Jonesy?
Speaker 5 (00:21):
And the virile Jonesy.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
What a creep.
Speaker 6 (00:23):
I've heard them describe him as a drunken idiot.
Speaker 4 (00:26):
Stay in school and learn at school.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Yeah, okay.
Speaker 4 (00:29):
Out of the way, Toby. Jonesy and Amanda, those are
names that you will never forget.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Bitch.
Speaker 7 (00:35):
Fri-yay, friendy.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Fri-yay. Big plans for the weekend?
Speaker 6 (00:39):
Oh, I thought I was going to be doing something work-wise,
but that's been sort of moved.
Speaker 7 (00:44):
What a dream.
Speaker 6 (00:44):
It's always good, isn't it, when something is going to
happen and it came to pass and it's not going
to happen.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
I often think that even, this is my nature, even
something that's brilliant, if it gets put off, I think, well,
what a relief.
Speaker 7 (00:56):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
What a relief I don't have to go and win
that million dollars in that competition.
Speaker 7 (01:02):
I might do some chainsawing on the weekend.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
I look forward to visiting you in the hospital.
Speaker 7 (01:06):
I've got a big stick chainsaw. Have you seen those
stick chainsaws?
Speaker 8 (01:10):
No.
Speaker 7 (01:11):
Really good.
Speaker 6 (01:12):
But I've got my jacaranda tree, and we're at that
stage where all the leaves are coming off the jacaranda
tree before the purple flowers come.
Speaker 7 (01:19):
So I might just do a little bit of tidying up.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
I'm really sorry I brought it up. How about you, Ryan?
What are your plans?
Speaker 9 (01:25):
I am popping off to Edinburgh.
Speaker 7 (01:26):
In South Australia?
Speaker 9 (01:28):
No, no, no, like Scotland. I'm going to Scotland.
Speaker 7 (01:31):
What, for how long?
Speaker 10 (01:32):
What?
Speaker 2 (01:33):
I think I remember you saying you wanted like Monday
to not be here.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:36):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And when did this happen?
Speaker 2 (01:38):
I saw that. I saw you leave.
Speaker 9 (01:40):
Yeah, I just put it on the board.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
You're going, but you're going overseas? Yeah, I'm going to Scotland.
Speaker 11 (01:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (01:44):
Yeah, just for the weekend. Let's pop by.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
This isn't a joke.
Speaker 12 (01:48):
No.
Speaker 7 (01:48):
How come? When are you going?
Speaker 9 (01:50):
I'm leaving like tonight.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
How come?
Speaker 9 (01:53):
Well, because the Edinburgh Fringe Festival is on at the moment.
Speaker 8 (01:56):
So I'm trying to catch the tail end of it
because my dream is to take my show.
Speaker 9 (02:00):
A Kingdom of Fools, over to the Edinburgh Fringe.
Speaker 4 (02:02):
Right.
Speaker 7 (02:02):
It's the biggest.
Speaker 9 (02:03):
arts festival in.
Speaker 8 (02:04):
The world of course it is I would love to
go yeah I'm just doing a bit of scouting just
checking it out seeing if it's possible scouting yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
I mean what are you going to learn by being there.
Speaker 8 (02:13):
Well just like what venues the show could be in
what the vibe is just a vibe it's basically a
vibe check right a.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Vibe check of Edinburgh yeah you lucky duck it'll be
fun I think it's brilliant a vibe check of Edinburgh.
Speaker 7 (02:27):
I just when you you just it's do you want
me to get you guys anything while I'm there yeah Yeah,
can you bring me back a caiba?
Speaker 9 (02:36):
What's that?
Speaker 7 (02:37):
Will you look it up? Get me a big caiba.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Caiba, isn't it?
Speaker 7 (02:40):
Caiba.
Speaker 9 (02:41):
Is that like a sword or something?
Speaker 2 (02:43):
It's a big piece of log that you hurl into
the air.
Speaker 6 (02:45):
I would like to toss it when you get it back.
Speaker 7 (02:48):
It'll fit in you.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
This is extraordinary news. I love these spontaneous things. I've
never been that kind of person.
Speaker 7 (02:55):
In my life. It's a long way to go.
Speaker 8 (02:58):
Yeah, I think we're on the plane for almost two
days or something.
Speaker 7 (03:02):
When are you back? Monday.
Speaker 9 (03:03):
Like midweek or something.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Yeah, I think I saw the form.
Speaker 7 (03:07):
Well, who's going to do your job next week?
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Brendan, it's all been sorted out.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
I saw that.
Speaker 7 (03:10):
Well, I'm usually the guy that does the work.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
No, we've got someone else doing the work.
Speaker 9 (03:13):
Ryan with a B.
Speaker 7 (03:14):
Ah, Ryan with a B.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 7 (03:16):
I like Ryan with a B. He's good. He's got
his own tin hat as well for Tin Hat Tuesday
next week.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Yeah, he's all set to go. Well, amazing. Well done, Ryan.
I admire the spontaneity.
Speaker 6 (03:25):
And this could be like a bit of a tax
expense for you if you indeed paid taxes.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
That was my first thought was what a tax write-off.
Speaker 13 (03:32):
Yeah, right.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
To see how easy it is to get your big
suit of armour there.
Speaker 7 (03:37):
In Ryan's jam jar of receipts for Guzman and Edinburgh.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Well, well done you. Well, we're in shock.
Speaker 14 (03:45):
Thanks.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
And don't you feel boring just doing some chainsawing at home?
Speaker 7 (03:47):
No, I'm just chainsawing away by myself like a big loser.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Yeah, aren't we just?
Speaker 6 (03:51):
We have an action-packed show, all the usual fruits of
the pie, Friday Feels, Phil Burton from Human Nature.
Speaker 14 (03:57):
Yes.
Speaker 7 (03:57):
He's broken away from those other blokes.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
He's doing a Phil Collins show.
Speaker 7 (04:00):
Yeah, Phil does Phil.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Phil does Phil.
Speaker 7 (04:02):
Phil times Phil. He'll be joining us.
Speaker 6 (04:05):
Instagram makes its return, and we can't do anything until
we do the Fast Five.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Give us a call.
Speaker 7 (04:09):
135522 on Gold. Damnation. Let's do it. How fast can
this thing go? Faster than the speed of light.
Speaker 4 (04:17):
Jonesy and Amanda.
Speaker 10 (04:18):
Stop.
Speaker 6 (04:19):
Fast Five is here. Five questions. Can you go all
the way and answer all five questions correctly? If you
do that, Amanda will say... You will.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Get a $ 250 Best Restaurants gift card is what you
will get.
Speaker 7 (04:30):
Lucinda is in Lane Cove. Hello, Lucinda.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
Hi, Jonesy.
Speaker 15 (04:34):
How are you?
Speaker 7 (04:35):
I am very well, thank you.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Hello, Lucinda. Jonesy's smirking because you didn't mention me and.
Speaker 7 (04:39):
He loves that. It's nice for a change. Some people think.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
Hello, Lucinda.
Speaker 7 (04:43):
Let's not make it all about Amanda. It was just
you and me before, Lucinda.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
I'm sorry to barge in.
Speaker 7 (04:47):
Don't let Amanda come in.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
Be the third wheel on this date.
Speaker 7 (04:50):
Cramping our style.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
Lucinda, here's question number one for you. What English city
are you from if you speak with a Scouse accent?
Speaker 16 (04:59):
Is that Liverpool?
Speaker 2 (05:00):
It is Liverpool.
Speaker 7 (05:01):
I like the Scouse accent.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
It goes a bit like this. Unlike any fun, you
get excited thinking who you might bring in and You know,
being involved, just because you're a player, you're still exactly
the same as the man on the street.
Speaker 10 (05:09):
You're picking up the paper, hopefully you're.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
Going to see if science.
Speaker 7 (05:13):
Yeah, I know exactly what he's saying.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 7 (05:16):
Lucinda, let's play Monster Man.
Speaker 14 (05:18):
Let's kick off this Monster Man.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
Yeah, let's make it up.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Lucinda, we have two songs that we've munched together. What
are they?
Speaker 1 (05:27):
MUSIC PLAYS.
Speaker 7 (05:40):
Oh, that's tough.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
That is tough. One of them's obvious, not so much
the other. Any ideas there, Lucinda?
Speaker 15 (05:46):
The first one's Gautier with somebody I used to know.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
That's it.
Speaker 7 (05:52):
Very good.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
What's the other one?
Speaker 14 (05:56):
Is it all the kids with the.
Speaker 15 (06:01):
Funked up.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
Kicks.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
Yeah, it is.
Speaker 7 (06:06):
I like you, Lucinda.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Yeah, it is.
Speaker 7 (06:07):
Give the kid a break.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
It's about a school shooting, that song.
Speaker 14 (06:14):
Oh, yay.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
Question three, let's move on to happier times. This is
multiple choice for you. The biggest gold nugget ever found
in Australia was given what name? Was it A, Welcome Stranger, B,
Hand of Faith, or C, Normandy's Nugget? Oh, Lucinda.
Speaker 7 (06:37):
Gee, you're cruel on Lucinda.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
Well, I don't know. What do you think?
Speaker 7 (06:41):
No, she's already come back from the dead before.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Yes, I think so too. He can't come back twice.
Speaker 7 (06:45):
As much as I like you, Lucinda.
Speaker 6 (06:47):
But that means we are now up to question number three.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
Question number three. The biggest gold nugget ever found in
Australia was given what name?
Speaker 3 (06:54):
Jam Nation.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
We've got Christy from Henleybrook. Hello, Christy.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
Hello.
Speaker 5 (06:59):
Hello.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
Hello. Are you one of those Christies that always gets
confused with a Kirstie?
Speaker 1 (07:06):
No, not really.
Speaker 12 (07:07):
Not anymore.
Speaker 7 (07:08):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
Because I know a lot of it's Caroline, Carolyn, Kirstie, Christie.
Speaker 7 (07:12):
Yeah, but Kirstie and Christie are two different names altogether.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
Yeah, it's not just pronunciation.
Speaker 7 (07:17):
So Christie, and we have a friend, Christie, and we
call her Christy Cream.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
Everyone calls her Crispy Cream because it's the only way
they can remember that she's a Christie and not a Kirstie.
Speaker 13 (07:26):
That's cool.
Speaker 6 (07:27):
I like them too.
Speaker 16 (07:27):
They're good lollies.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Well, let's get to question number three for you. The
biggest gold nugget ever found in Australia was given what name?
Was it A, Welcome Stranger, B, Hand of Faith, or C,
Normandy Nugget?
Speaker 15 (07:40):
I'm going with number three.
Speaker 7 (07:42):
No, it wasn't Normandy. No, not the Normandy Nugget.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
That is the name of an actual gold nugget, but
not the.
Speaker 7 (07:48):
Biggest Australian one. Yeah, but that was found in Normandy.
Thank you, Christy. Pat has joined us from East Perth.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
Hi, Pat.
Speaker 4 (07:56):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
Yes, hello there.
Speaker 7 (07:57):
Yes, Pat. Are you paying attention, Pat?
Speaker 2 (08:00):
I guess you don't have anyone not being able to
pronounce your name, Pat.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
Pat Suri from Thailand.
Speaker 5 (08:07):
Oh.
Speaker 7 (08:07):
Okay, very good.
Speaker 5 (08:07):
Pat Suri.
Speaker 7 (08:08):
Pat Suri.
Speaker 12 (08:09):
Yes.
Speaker 13 (08:09):
All right.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
Well, let's see what we can do. The biggest gold
nugget ever found in Australia was given what name? Was
it A, Welcome Stranger, or B, Hand of Faith?
Speaker 5 (08:19):
I'd go with A.
Speaker 7 (08:19):
It was.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
It was called Welcome Stranger.
Speaker 7 (08:20):
It was the Welcome Stranger.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
It was massive. It weighed roughly 72 kilos.
Speaker 8 (08:26):
Whoa!
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Unearthed just centimetres below the surface in Victoria in 1869.
Speaker 7 (08:30):
So just centimetres below the surface.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (08:33):
And then the whole gold rush ensued and all these
people picking out stuff hoping they would just get heaps
of gold.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Yeah, and instead, no. Some shoeless person panning for gold
and getting nothing.
Speaker 7 (08:44):
Pat, why are they shoeless?
Speaker 2 (08:47):
Well, that's how it goes.
Speaker 7 (08:48):
Does it?
Speaker 2 (08:48):
Yeah, you lose a shirt off your back and all
that sort of stuff. You go out there and hope
that you'll make your fortune.
Speaker 7 (08:54):
I forgot that you went through a prospector stage.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
I've been to Ballarat.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
Ballarat.
Speaker 7 (09:00):
Well, there's some guy saying, listen, come on, kids, this
is how you're paying for gold. And then you go,
come on, mate, you've got no shoes.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
Yeah, and you've stolen my lunch money.
Speaker 7 (09:07):
We're going back in the bus. Can you name, Pat,
one of the presidents featured on Mount Rushmore?
Speaker 2 (09:15):
Abraham Lincoln. Yes, Abraham Lincoln. The other ones are George Washington,
Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and yes, Abraham Lincoln.
Speaker 7 (09:24):
I was reading about it the other day. It's not
fully completed. It was meant to.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Still a space for Donald Trump?
Speaker 7 (09:29):
No.
Speaker 6 (09:30):
I'm sure he'd like to put his mug up there.
But it's supposed to be more like they're full bodies.
Speaker 14 (09:35):
Really?
Speaker 7 (09:35):
Yeah, the whole thing.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
Well, they're supposed to be crouching.
Speaker 13 (09:37):
No, no, no.
Speaker 7 (09:38):
It's big enough. There's enough.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
Have you seen it in real life? I haven't.
Speaker 7 (09:41):
No, I'd love to.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
I'd love to as well.
Speaker 7 (09:42):
I'd love to see it. But it's huge. A lot
of work, though.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
Question number five.
Speaker 14 (09:48):
Here we go, Pat.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
This is, Pat, where you could win the best restaurants
gift card. Here's your question. Phil Burton is a member
of which Australian pop group?
Speaker 3 (09:58):
Phil Burton.
Speaker 5 (09:59):
Phil.
Speaker 8 (10:00):
Burton.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
Have any ties?
Speaker 14 (10:02):
Pardon?
Speaker 3 (10:03):
Have any ties?
Speaker 1 (10:06):
No. No.
Speaker 6 (10:08):
Not sure what Pat was saying there, but Belinda of
Bandura might have an.
Speaker 7 (10:13):
Answer for us.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
Hi, Belinda.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Belinda!
Speaker 2 (10:16):
Hello. Hello, Belinda.
Speaker 7 (10:17):
We're very well.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
Phil Burton is a member of which Australian pop group?
Speaker 15 (10:23):
Human Nature.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
Human Nature.
Speaker 7 (10:24):
Tell it, everybody.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
He's joining us today for our Friday Phil Sessions.
Speaker 8 (10:27):
I know.
Speaker 7 (10:27):
What's he going to be singing for us today?
Speaker 2 (10:29):
I don't know, but he's doing a Phil Collins show.
Speaker 7 (10:32):
I'm feeling. Is he just doing a Phil Collins.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
Show because his first name is Phil? No, because he
could have done.
Speaker 7 (10:43):
What about?
Speaker 2 (10:43):
What other artists are called Phil?
Speaker 7 (10:44):
Phil and Phil.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Phil Oakley.
Speaker 7 (10:46):
Phil Oakley.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
Full harmonic orchestra.
Speaker 6 (10:50):
Belinda, I know that you came for this, but what
you have done is won the $ 250 Best Restaurants gift card.
Speaker 15 (10:59):
Oh, thank you so much.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
That's amazing. It is amazing.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
Well done, Belinda.
Speaker 7 (11:02):
I can't have a big steak, big feed of spaghetti
on us. Belinda?
Speaker 2 (11:05):
I will, I will.
Speaker 12 (11:06):
Thank you.
Speaker 6 (11:07):

Speaker 7 (11:20):
What do I say about the dopes that run this country?
Speaker 2 (11:24):
Well, you say they shouldn't be?
Speaker 7 (11:25):
Well, I just say the dopes that run this country.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
Yes, and actually, so when you say what do you
say about them, you never get beyond that.
Speaker 6 (11:30):
Well, you know, I'm at an age where I feel
that the people that run this country are my age.
Speaker 7 (11:35):
And I'm thinking, well, hang on, what are these people doing?
Speaker 6 (11:38):
But then I spare a thought for other countries, like,
for example, over there in England, What do you think
about when you swim in the ocean? Do you feel
about how much sweat that you had on you when
you jumped in the ocean? Would that indeed affect the ocean?
Speaker 2 (11:53):
No, you know what I think when I go in
the ocean? I think, can I just go and stand
up to my waist, do a wee and get out?
Speaker 7 (12:00):
That's true.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
That's all that I do in the ocean.
Speaker 7 (12:01):
Whenever you see a man standing waist up.
Speaker 16 (12:03):
In the ocean.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
As if I'm just going, wow, this is nice and
I don't need to go any further in now.
Speaker 7 (12:07):
What is it with that? Have you ever wet your armpits?
Speaker 6 (12:11):
So over there in England in Dover, There's a Labor councillor,
Helen Williams. She's worried about the amount of sweat that
could be going into the ocean from her constituents.
Speaker 4 (12:23):
What?
Speaker 6 (12:23):
They're debating proposals for a new sea scrub sauna at
Warmer Beach near Deal.
Speaker 7 (12:28):
So this sauna.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Sounds lovely.
Speaker 7 (12:31):
Would be great. But she's worried about people sweating in
the ocean. Helen explains.
Speaker 10 (12:37):
I dislike the idea of people sweating in the sauna,
then washing the sweat off in the sea.
Speaker 16 (12:42):
This is Dover District Council's planning committee debating proposals for
a new sea scrub sauna at Warmer Beach New Deal.
Hundreds of residents had commented in support of the application,
but Labour councillor Helen Williams worried sweaty users could contaminate
the seawater.
Speaker 10 (12:57):
Personally, I dislike the idea of people sweating in the sauna,
then washing the sweat off in the sea. I think
running water needs to be provided for a shower. Local
people are very concerned about seawater quality.
Speaker 16 (13:09):
The proposals include a sauna, changing room and office situated
right on the beach. In the end, the committee approved
the plans, paving the way for warmer residents to get
hot and sweaty just as soon as the new sea
scrub sauna gets up and running.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Does she know what fish do in the water?
Speaker 7 (13:24):
Exactly. This is the dopes that are running the world.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
So the sweat from your body will contaminate. The quality
of the ocean.
Speaker 7 (13:31):
Yes, yes. So I went to chat GPT to find out.
Speaker 6 (13:34):
So the volume of the ocean is 1.332 billion cubic kilometres,
which is about 1.332 by 1021 squared litres.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
I knew that.
Speaker 7 (13:47):
Of course you knew that.
Speaker 6 (13:48):
So in sweat, it's mostly water already. You've got some salt, urea.
Speaker 10 (13:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (13:54):
You've got some urea. You've got that. You've got some
lactate and trace minerals.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
Mm-hmm.
Speaker 5 (13:59):
I see.
Speaker 7 (14:00):
So what counts as contamination, you ask?
Speaker 2 (14:03):
I do ask.
Speaker 6 (14:04):
If we define it as raising the concentration of something measurably,
say increasing the ocean's average salinity by 00.1%, you'd need
to add a huge volume of sweat.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
How much?
Speaker 6 (14:17):
Which is fresher than seawater to dilute it. Okay, so
back of the envelope here. if you want to work
it out, if you dumped all the sweat produced by
every human on Earth, 7 trillion litres per year, assuming
at 8 billion people, into the ocean continuously, it.
Speaker 7 (14:34):
Would take, have a guess, how many years?
Speaker 2 (14:36):
How many years till what?
Speaker 7 (14:37):
Till the ocean was contaminated completely.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
10?
Speaker 7 (14:42):
190 million years.
Speaker 6 (14:45):
And even then, all you'd have is mostly a little
bit more ocean.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
What are the qualifications for this politician? And can we
become her?
Speaker 7 (14:54):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Can we take money for doing that job? She sounds
like an idiot.
Speaker 7 (14:57):
She might be perfect to run Victoria.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
Look at you. You've chucked a huesy.
Speaker 13 (15:03):
Gold.
Speaker 7 (15:04):
Hello there.
Speaker 6 (15:04):
It's Jonesy and Amanda driving you home. It's Friday the 28th.
Speaker 7 (15:09):
Of, what is it, August?
Speaker 2 (15:10):
It is August.
Speaker 7 (15:11):
It was my brother's birthday yesterday.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
And is this in lieu of a card?
Speaker 7 (15:15):
No, well, I said happy birthday to him yesterday, so.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
How many days then are you going to mention this?
Is he in Meldon Marcos? How long does this festival
go for?
Speaker 7 (15:23):
That's pretty much all he's going to get.
Speaker 1 (15:25):
Okay.
Speaker 7 (15:26):
And I might buy him a beer on the weekend.
Speaker 6 (15:29):
This year has just gone so quickly and I was
just enjoying dinner last night and I've become that guy
that's brought in his food from home now.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
I saw you with your leftovers.
Speaker 7 (15:41):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
In all the years we've worked together, I know we've
only started to do a drive show this year.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
But I've never ever seen you bringing a container with
little leftovers and heating them up in the microwave.
Speaker 7 (15:52):
Because there's a whole procedure that goes with it.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
Even I don't do it.
Speaker 7 (15:56):
Standing around the microwave, making chat with people.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
Rinsing out Tupperware containers afterwards.
Speaker 6 (16:02):
It's akin to the breakfast buffet at a hotel, but
at least you're just doing that once.
Speaker 7 (16:07):
You're not doing it every day. And a small chat
and then, oh, what are you eating?
Speaker 2 (16:12):
Who made it?
Speaker 7 (16:13):
And all that sort of stuff.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
You don't like that kind of chat.
Speaker 7 (16:17):
I'm not a small talker.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
You want big talk.
Speaker 7 (16:19):
I'm big talk. But I brought in some lasagna, this
eggplant lasagna.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
It looked delicious.
Speaker 6 (16:24):
That my wife made. A back story, this is new
that my wife does all the cooking. We used to
do breakfast radio and I used to, and I cooked
for many, many years. When she was pregnant with our
eldest son, she- Over 30 years ago. Yeah, almost 34
years ago. She would get incredibly bad morning sickness at
(16:45):
dinner time. And, like, she would literally throw up in
the sink. And then I'd think, well, you know, I'll
have to start rattling some pots and pans.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
Because, yum, I feel hungry now.
Speaker 6 (16:56):
I became a guy that self-taught cook and did it for,
and I found it quite therapeutic, cooked many meals.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
You love cooking.
Speaker 7 (17:03):
I do love cooking.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
And you sort of, I know that you kind of
wore it almost as a badge of honour that you
did the cooking. You liked to be that guy.
Speaker 14 (17:09):
No, not at all.
Speaker 7 (17:10):
Not at all.
Speaker 6 (17:11):
I think what happened was women were, felt uncomfortable that
I was cooking. My mother-in-law, for example, she'd walk into
the kitchen and you could see, you could almost feel
her muttering, it's just not right that he's in the kitchen.
So what I would do is I'd get everything ready
and Helen would walk in and I'd say, okay, put
that in there for 10 minutes, get that, put that
out and do that, you know, when your mum comes in.
(17:31):
So just to get away with it. And that's what
it is. I never bragged about it. It was just
a thing that I enjoyed doing. But now with these
new hours.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
I'm... Getting home.
Speaker 7 (17:41):
Getting home. And it's like Tony Abbott's dream.
Speaker 6 (17:45):
I come home, there's the wife cooking the dinner time,
and it's ready to go as I sit down after
a hard day at the office. But then I was
watching her last night making this lasagna, and she's got
the pots and pans going. And I'm holding the little grandson.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
How old is he now?
Speaker 13 (18:02):
Two?
Speaker 7 (18:02):
Eighteen months.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
Eighteen months.
Speaker 6 (18:04):
And he's like just looking at Nanny with this look
of like fascination.
Speaker 7 (18:09):
Who is this sorceress with all the pots and pans?
Speaker 2 (18:12):
And what a memory he'll have.
Speaker 7 (18:13):
Well, and that is my point. So I'm watching.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
I know where this is going.
Speaker 7 (18:19):
And I can see what's, and I'm looking at him
and I'm looking at her and I'm looking at the pots.
I'm looking at him, her, pots. I go, hang on
a minute.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (18:26):
She's only been doing this for the last eight months.
Speaker 6 (18:29):
This is all new. Mate, I made it to ducking once.
You know, if you want to be in awe, I
made beef wellington before mushroom lady.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
Wrecked it for everyone.
Speaker 7 (18:41):
I was making that stuff before you were born.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
You're not going to get any of that glory. You
know what this reminds me of? The beetroot salad.
Speaker 7 (18:50):
Harley's beetroot salad.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
Even after all these years, you still call it that.
We were having people over, and it wasn't even you.
You've just heard this story.
Speaker 8 (19:00):
I know.
Speaker 7 (19:00):
It's become apocryphal.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
We were having people over. I was making a beetroot salad,
and I did all the shopping, did all the thinking,
did all the preparations and all the cooking, even cooked
the beetroot. But I said to Harley, would you mind just–
I'm left-handed, as you know, Brendan, and fine motor skills
aren't my friend. Can you just slice up this beetroot?
And I graciously told people that Harley had sliced up
(19:23):
the beetroot. And everyone started calling it Harley's beetroot salad.
And he started calling it Harley's beetroot salad. And you
even now call it Harley's beetroot salad. It drives me crazy.
Speaker 7 (19:34):
I understand that Donna Hayes put it in a recipe.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
Yeah, calling it Harley's beetroot salad.
Speaker 6 (19:40):
That's why Mick Jagger has been in the Rolling Stones
for so long, so he can say to his multitudinous
grandchildren that he is a rock star.
Speaker 2 (19:47):
Yeah, that's right. Not just that old guy in the
corner looking weird.
Speaker 4 (19:50):
You're listening to the Jonesy and Amanda podcast.
Speaker 7 (19:53):
Well, today is the day.
Speaker 6 (19:54):
Friday and everything, we have a JQJ5 to give away.
Speaker 7 (19:57):
Aren't we getting closer with our clues?
Speaker 2 (19:59):
We certainly are. We have five mystery celebrities in our J5.
We already know three of them. There are only two
left to be identified. For every correct new celebrity in
the right place... You get a $ 200 fuel card. If
you give us all five in the right order, you
win this extraordinary car.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
Indeed.
Speaker 7 (20:19):
Should we just have a look at the car?
Speaker 2 (20:21):
Let's do it.
Speaker 7 (20:22):
Because, you know, we're going to be giving it away,
so I'm going to miss it. Come on, catch up.
I like the entrance note. I'm going to get this
at my house.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
Do you always have to wear leather pants when you're
in here?
Speaker 7 (20:33):
There you go.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
You're certainly making yourself at home.
Speaker 7 (20:37):
Well, it's such a great car. It's such a great car.
Speaker 2 (20:40):
Well, there's only two clues left to give.
Speaker 5 (20:43):
Righty-o.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
Let me do them for you right here, right now.
Celebrity one.
Speaker 7 (20:47):
Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
They're insisting we put on country music.
Speaker 7 (20:51):
You know what? I don't mind.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
You know, I love country music. I'm happy for it.
Speaker 7 (20:55):
You're a little bit country.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
Celebrity four. Wow. Well, they're not wanting the country music.
They're insisting we all sing a cappella.
Speaker 7 (21:03):
A cappella.
Speaker 6 (21:05):
Of course, the other people in the car, we know
that we've got Sydney in the car.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
They make your butt look amazing. Celebrity number two. Celebrity
number three is Danny DeVito.
Speaker 7 (21:14):
The moment I sat down, I thought I was looking
into a mirror.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
Celebrity number five is John McEnroe.
Speaker 7 (21:18):
You can't be serious, man.
Speaker 14 (21:20):
You cannot be serious.
Speaker 2 (21:22):
Celebrity number one. Celebrity number four. Who are they?
Speaker 7 (21:25):
Do you know? Why don't you call us?
Speaker 1 (21:27):
135522. On gold.
Speaker 5 (21:27):
Damnation. Buckle up.
Speaker 4 (21:38):
Join the intermanders.
Speaker 14 (21:39):
Backseat bandits.
Speaker 10 (21:41):
Shut up and drive.
Speaker 6 (21:43):
We have a brand new J.Coup J5 to give away.
Speaker 2 (21:46):
And we're getting to the pointy end of giving it away.
We have had five mystery celebrities.
Speaker 7 (21:50):
Backseat bandits.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
That's right, in the J5 with us. We've given you
clues as to who they are. Three of them have
already been guessed. There's only two left to guess.
Speaker 7 (22:00):
There's two left to guess.
Speaker 2 (22:02):
So this is the thing. Each new celebrity correctly identified
will win you a $ 200 fuel card. Get all five
right in the right order and you win the car.
Speaker 7 (22:11):
It's exciting. Jazz has joined us from North Perth. Hello, Jazz.
Speaker 8 (22:16):
Hi.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
How are you, Jazz?
Speaker 13 (22:18):
I'm good, thank you.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
Are you feeling a little jazzed that you're this close
to winning a car?
Speaker 3 (22:22):
I mean, that would be amazing.
Speaker 7 (22:24):
It would be.
Speaker 6 (22:25):
And also, Jazz, your name shares a name with a car.
Speaker 7 (22:29):
The Jazz.
Speaker 5 (22:30):
Oh, wow.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
The Jazz Coup.
Speaker 6 (22:32):
Maybe he'd be the Jazz Coup, the J-Coup Jazz. Anyway,
but you've got to get there first.
Speaker 2 (22:37):
You've got to get there first. There are five celebrities.
As we said, three of them have already been identified.
We've given you the clues to the last two. Jazz,
over to you. Who are the five celebrities in the J5?
Speaker 5 (22:52):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
I think number one is Keith Urban. Number two is
Sydney Sweeney. Number three is Danny DeVito. Number four, I
think it might be Rebel Wilson. And number five is
John McEnroe.
Speaker 4 (23:03):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
Well, let's have a look.
Speaker 7 (23:09):
So we do know two, three, and five. We know
two is Sidney Sweeney.
Speaker 11 (23:16):
They make your butt look amazing.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
We do know celebrity three is Danny DeVito.
Speaker 7 (23:21):
The moment I sat down, I thought I was looking
into a mirror.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
And we do know Celebrity 5 is John McEnroe.
Speaker 8 (23:27):
You can't be serious, man.
Speaker 14 (23:28):
You cannot be serious.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
So you've had a crack at two new celebrities.
Speaker 14 (23:34):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
Jonesy wishes he's had a.
Speaker 7 (23:35):
Crack at Sidney Sweeney. Okay.
Speaker 6 (23:37):
Let's not make this weird in front of Jazz. So
Celebrity 1.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
Celebrity 1. Jazz, you said it's Keith Urban.
Speaker 6 (23:46):
Because the clue was they're insisting we put on country music.
And he likes country music.
Speaker 7 (23:52):
Jazz?
Speaker 1 (23:53):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (23:54):
That is correct.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 4 (23:58):
Nice to see you.
Speaker 7 (23:59):
You too, Amanda.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
Lovely to see you.
Speaker 13 (24:01):
Always.
Speaker 3 (24:01):
Oh, my gosh.
Speaker 7 (24:03):
Jazz.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
Celebrity one is Keith Urban. You've won a $ 200 fuel cart.
You have to guess celebrity number four if you want
to win the car.
Speaker 7 (24:12):
And I forgot who you said for question number four.
Speaker 3 (24:15):
I said Rebel Wilson.
Speaker 7 (24:17):
Rebel Wilson. Because the clue, they're insisting we all sing
a cappella.
Speaker 8 (24:22):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
I'm on the edge of glory.
Speaker 3 (24:27):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 7 (24:29):
You know what that means.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
That is correct.
Speaker 7 (24:30):
You did it.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
Jazz, you've won the car.
Speaker 7 (24:35):
You've got the J.Coup J5, Jazz.
Speaker 3 (24:38):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 12 (24:40):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
Jazz, you have named all five celebrities and you have
won the J.Coup J5.
Speaker 13 (24:47):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 10 (24:48):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
Thank you so much. This is brilliant.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
Congratulations.
Speaker 2 (24:51):
Congratulations.
Speaker 7 (24:53):
You came from nowhere.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
So the celebrities, we've got Keith Urban, we've got Sydney Sweeney,
we've got Danny DeVito, Rebel Wilson and John McEnroe. What
a motley crew in the back of that car.
Speaker 6 (25:02):
Hey, a motley crew in the back of a car.
The Jake who could handle it.
Speaker 2 (25:06):
Oh, Jazz, how are you feeling?
Speaker 3 (25:08):
I'm like, I'm shaking.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
Do you need a new car?
Speaker 3 (25:13):
Actually, I do. That would be amazing.
Speaker 7 (25:14):
What are you driving right now?
Speaker 3 (25:17):
I have an i30 from like 10 years ago.
Speaker 1 (25:19):
Oh, okay.
Speaker 2 (25:19):
You are going to love this.
Speaker 7 (25:21):
Jazz, you need to be in the Jaku J5.
Speaker 2 (25:23):
It is a brilliant car.
Speaker 7 (25:24):
Amanda and I have been driving it around, and you
know what?
Speaker 6 (25:27):
It took out all the punishment that we dished.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
And we will have it for breezed before it comes
to you.
Speaker 7 (25:32):
If you want, we can drop it off to your house.
Speaker 15 (25:35):
Oh, my gosh.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
That would be amazing.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
Oh, Jazz, congratulations. The new Jaku J5 is absolutely yours.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
Thank you. Thank you so much.
Speaker 6 (25:45):
Congratulations to you, Jazz. Jaku J5. Smart storage and space
for all. Family proof and chaos proof. Test drive today.
And now Jazz of North Perth has her very own
Jaku J5.
Speaker 14 (25:58):
Jazz.
Speaker 1 (26:02):
Well done, you.
Speaker 7 (26:03):
And now you can go, Jazz.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
We've milked that music far too much. Congratulations, Jazz.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
Thank you. I really appreciate it.
Speaker 7 (26:15):
Jam Nation. I'm loving the Friday vibe. We've got the
Friday feels still to come.
Speaker 6 (26:19):
We're giving away cars, the Jaycoo J5 to Jazz, a
microwave and food in the microwave.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
What a vibe, Brendan. That's what I do. You're bringing
the vibe of bringing some home-cooked food in Tupperware and
stinking out the kitchen.
Speaker 7 (26:31):
What a vibe. And making small talk with my colleagues
about who made the food.
Speaker 4 (26:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (26:36):
How long do you microwave it for?
Speaker 2 (26:38):
See, I don't bring in tins of tuna for that
same reason because I can't bear the conversation around it.
Speaker 7 (26:43):
Don't be known as Tuna Breath Keller.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
Not again.
Speaker 7 (26:48):
And why Rai is going to Edinburgh. I know.
Speaker 6 (26:51):
Literally not Edinburgh in Australia but Edinburgh in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Speaker 9 (26:57):
Yeah, just for the weekend pretty much.
Speaker 2 (26:58):
You know what? You should get a tattoo to say
you've been to the Edinburgh tattoo.
Speaker 13 (27:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
The Edinburgh tattoo, do you know what that is?
Speaker 8 (27:04):
No.
Speaker 1 (27:04):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (27:05):
It's a huge pipes and drums Scottish kind of experience.
Speaker 5 (27:10):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
With the bagpipes.
Speaker 7 (27:11):
Middle-aged people get really misty-eyed about it.
Speaker 5 (27:14):
I do.
Speaker 7 (27:14):
Exactly. But what else I notice?
Speaker 3 (27:20):
What?
Speaker 6 (27:22):
What else I noticed that our, what's the client services department?
Speaker 2 (27:26):
Well, we call them sales.
Speaker 7 (27:28):
They're sales.
Speaker 2 (27:29):
They are now known as the client experiential time alignments.
Speaker 6 (27:33):
And each time they have on their whiteboard a discussion
and it's pretty much would you rather.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
Yeah, it's kind of a would you rather, but we
prefer to call it.
Speaker 6 (27:53):
Because we've got to put out the message that we
do the entertaining. They do the selling of the radio spots.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
And the experiential experiences with the experiences of the experientials.
Speaker 7 (28:02):
With all your word salad job titles, man and I
are just DJs.
Speaker 2 (28:06):
Yeah, we're doing the word meat, not the word salad.
I do want to know what today's one is.
Speaker 7 (28:10):
Please.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
Would you rather have the ability to fly or the
ability to be invisible?
Speaker 7 (28:18):
Fly.
Speaker 5 (28:19):
Boom.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
Where would you go?
Speaker 1 (28:20):
Anywhere.
Speaker 7 (28:21):
I'd fly to work each day. Not mucking around with
stupid traffic. Would you have a cape?
Speaker 4 (28:28):
No.
Speaker 8 (28:28):
No.
Speaker 2 (28:28):
How do you picture yourself flying? Like Superman?
Speaker 7 (28:31):
No, I'd be more like Iron Man, arms by the side.
Speaker 1 (28:34):
Oh, no.
Speaker 7 (28:35):
Upright. No, that's when he used his little jet hands.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
So you'd still be stomach to the ground.
Speaker 14 (28:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
With your arms by your side.
Speaker 7 (28:45):
Or maybe Astro Boy, one hand.
Speaker 2 (28:48):
Wouldn't we all look weird?
Speaker 6 (28:50):
You'd be hopeless because when you walk through a shopping centre,
have you seen some people moseying around?
Speaker 7 (28:55):
It'd be a disaster up there.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
Well, everyone talks about Beyond 2000, why don't we have
flying cars? We have road rage on the ground. How's
that going to work in the sky?
Speaker 7 (29:02):
It's just harder to get out the lights and bash someone.
Speaker 2 (29:05):
What if you wear a skirt?
Speaker 7 (29:07):
Well, Supergirl had a skirt. What happened?
Speaker 2 (29:09):
Did she have just big, thick undies that gave nothing away?
Speaker 7 (29:11):
I never really saw her undies. No, see, exactly.
Speaker 2 (29:13):
It was always discreet.
Speaker 7 (29:14):
Yeah, well, of course they're going to be discreet.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
So you'd take flying.
Speaker 7 (29:17):
They've got an upskirt Supergirl.
Speaker 2 (29:19):
You would take flying. You have no interest in being invisible?
Speaker 7 (29:21):
Why would you bother?
Speaker 2 (29:22):
I have no interest in being invisible because I would
be mortified to hear what people would say about me
behind my back. I don't want to go into other rooms.
Unless you want the goss on the royal family or
something like that, that I'd like to pick a room
to go into and be invisible, like Buckingham Palace or something.
Speaker 4 (29:37):
Sure.
Speaker 2 (29:37):
But just hanging around the office being invisible. what's the point?
Speaker 7 (29:40):
Tuna Breath Keller. Gem Y Rye.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
I wonder who they're talking about, I'd say.
Speaker 7 (29:44):
Gem Y Rye.
Speaker 8 (29:46):
For me, flying, obviously, with the upcoming trip, I'd say myself.
Speaker 7 (29:49):
But you could fly?
Speaker 14 (29:49):
To Edinburgh.
Speaker 6 (29:50):
Because if you were to fly to Edinburgh, that would
be a long time. You'd have to stop over in
Hong Kong.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
I don't think you could fly international.
Speaker 1 (29:56):
Why not?
Speaker 7 (29:57):
Yeah, Superman did.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
Yeah, but it's not like.
Speaker 7 (29:59):
He can fly around.
Speaker 9 (29:59):
He flew around the world and turned time.
Speaker 7 (30:01):
He did and he turned back time.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
I imagine it like teleporting. That would work. You click
your fingers and you're there.
Speaker 5 (30:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
But flying would actually be exhausting, Ryan.
Speaker 7 (30:09):
Across time zones. It'd have to be a toll.
Speaker 6 (30:11):
But having said that, in the Superman sphere, he.
Speaker 7 (30:17):
Did fly around the world.
Speaker 9 (30:18):
Okay, I would fly, but I'd have a stopover in Doha.
Speaker 7 (30:21):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
I'd do some duty free.
Speaker 7 (30:25):
Go and get on the scissor pipe. In Doha.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
You don't want to go to the Edinburgh Festival being
invisible and go in for free?
Speaker 10 (30:32):
No.
Speaker 9 (30:32):
No, because I want to support the artists, Amanda.
Speaker 2 (30:34):
You want to sit there scowly-faced so they can see you.
Speaker 7 (30:36):
There's a lot of invisible people in Ryan's audience.
Speaker 9 (30:43):
Thank you all for being here.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
They really enjoyed it, Ryan. They told me they did,
all those invisible people.
Speaker 7 (30:48):
Anyway. Our water cooler chat.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
What would you choose? Would you rather the ability to
fly or the ability to be invisible? Jonesy and Amanda.
Speaker 4 (30:59):
Listen to the podcast whenever you want with the free
iHeart app.
Speaker 6 (31:03):
When there's big issues to talk about at the radio station,
we could go to the Jonesy and Amanda ramps.
Speaker 7 (31:07):
For the pub.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
Or we could do a whip pole.
Speaker 7 (31:09):
Could do that. Could open up a can of worms.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
Oh, gosh, I forgot about that one. Or we could
do this.
Speaker 4 (31:16):
Studies have shown that more information gets passed through water
cooler gossip than through official.
Speaker 1 (31:23):
Memos.
Speaker 6 (31:30):
This was brought to us by our client experience team.
In the old days, they were known as radio sales.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
Do they now have to go like on jumping castles
with clients.
Speaker 6 (31:40):
And I don't actually I might ask them one day
when we're going past but I saw their idea on
the whiteboard that will come up with a cool benchmark
to sell it here and that's what we've done.
Speaker 2 (31:50):
This is the question today would you rather have the
ability to fly or the ability to be invisible.
Speaker 7 (31:56):
And just I said fly you said fly.
Speaker 2 (31:59):
I said fly but if I could pick a room
I don't want to be invisible all the time I
mean I the only time I'd want to be invisible
is going into Buckingham Palace or just getting the big
goss on something.
Speaker 5 (32:10):
Sure.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
But I've no interest in it otherwise.
Speaker 7 (32:12):
Yeah, but you love the piping. So what would happen?
All of a sudden the curtain starts talking.
Speaker 12 (32:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (32:17):
Megs it. In the background. Gemma Rice said fly.
Speaker 5 (32:22):
Fly.
Speaker 8 (32:22):
Yeah, I said fly because I've got an upcoming trip
and that would save me a couple of grand.
Speaker 2 (32:26):
But you couldn't relax and watch a movie if you've
got to do your own fly.
Speaker 7 (32:30):
You'd have to concentrate as well.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
It'd be really hard and it'd be cold.
Speaker 9 (32:33):
I'd need Google Maps on to help.
Speaker 7 (32:34):
Me get there.
Speaker 2 (32:35):
Yeah, that's right. You couldn't raw dog it.
Speaker 7 (32:36):
If you were to fly, can I just ask you this?
Speaker 5 (32:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (32:39):
I said my arms would be at my side like
Iron Man.
Speaker 9 (32:42):
Yeah. I think I would do like the bird flap.
Speaker 7 (32:46):
Would you?
Speaker 1 (32:47):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 9 (32:47):
Just get really into it.
Speaker 2 (32:48):
I love the image of you flying all the way
to Edinburgh, flapping your arms.
Speaker 7 (32:51):
That's not comical.
Speaker 2 (32:52):
I know, like you're migrating.
Speaker 7 (32:53):
No, you'd look foolish.
Speaker 2 (32:55):
And don't do any plops.
Speaker 6 (32:56):
135522 is our number.
Speaker 7 (32:59):
Welcome to Water Cooler Chat. Ben of Boronia.
Speaker 2 (33:01):
Hello, Ben.
Speaker 5 (33:02):
Hey, guys.
Speaker 14 (33:02):
How you going?
Speaker 2 (33:03):
Very well. Would you rather be able to fly or
be invisible?
Speaker 4 (33:07):
Fly.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
Flying is definitely, yeah.
Speaker 2 (33:09):
Can I ask you?
Speaker 13 (33:10):
I think of all the things I can see as birds.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
Well, that is true. What style of flying do you
picture yourself doing? Like Superman, like Iron Man, like a bird?
How would it go?
Speaker 13 (33:20):
I think closer to a bird and, like, a plane,
you know?
Speaker 15 (33:22):
Right.
Speaker 7 (33:23):
Bird and a plane. But, Ben, not flapping your arms
like some coot.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
Like a goose?
Speaker 7 (33:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (33:30):
Yeah, I know. I think I'd like to just have
them out there, you know, majestically.
Speaker 2 (33:33):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (33:34):
Those people you see at the Birdman Rally, no one
ever goes, oh, gee, that's cool.
Speaker 7 (33:39):
You know, you see them flapping their arms around.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
Yeah. Ben's saying he wouldn't flap them. He'd just have
them out. Oh, okay. Like he's in formation.
Speaker 5 (33:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (33:48):
But by himself.
Speaker 2 (33:51):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (33:52):
Thanks, Ben.
Speaker 10 (33:53):
Thank you, Ben.
Speaker 2 (33:53):
It raises more questions than it answers.
Speaker 7 (33:55):
Sylvia's in mascot.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
Hello, Sylvia.
Speaker 12 (33:57):
Hi.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
How are you?
Speaker 2 (33:59):
Very well. Would you rather fly or be invisible?
Speaker 15 (34:04):
I'd rather fly and not even very far, to be honest,
just to commute to work and back.
Speaker 13 (34:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
I tend to agree.
Speaker 9 (34:10):
That would be good.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
I don't want to be like Ryan. I don't want
to do a big international flight.
Speaker 13 (34:13):
No.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
Fool. That sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? I would rather just
a quick trip to the shops or if you're feeling
a bit Oh, sore. You just want to stretch out
and have a fly. That's how I'd like to do it.
You know how you look out? We sit in our
building here and look out at the birds and think,
wouldn't that be fun?
Speaker 6 (34:30):
Yeah, but then sometimes you see a bird up really
high and you think, do you think the bird ever thinks, oh, jeez,
I'm a bit high.
Speaker 7 (34:34):
I better head home. Take it easy. Thanks, Sylvia.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
Sylvia, thank you.
Speaker 7 (34:40):
What about when you're on a plane and you see
like a fly on the plane?
Speaker 2 (34:43):
I have been on a plane and I looked down.
It was an airline years ago. I spotted a fly
off my meal.
Speaker 4 (34:49):
Right.
Speaker 10 (34:50):
I thought.
Speaker 2 (34:51):
It's going to be confused when the doors open.
Speaker 7 (34:53):
Yeah. Ryan has joined us. Hello, Ryan.
Speaker 13 (34:58):
Hello.
Speaker 1 (34:59):
Hi, Ryan.
Speaker 2 (34:59):
Would you rather fly or be invisible?
Speaker 15 (35:02):
I'd definitely take fly just because of the freedom aspect.
And let's face it, everyone who's choosing for invisibility is
either a kleptomaniac or a pervert.
Speaker 2 (35:11):
Oh, actually, we didn't even talk about the pervy aspect
of that.
Speaker 6 (35:14):
I'm so pervy.
Speaker 7 (35:15):
Like, imagine you're invisible. Sydney Sweeney walks into the room,
you know.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
Well, you could do that just by standing there anyway, Brendan.
Speaker 7 (35:24):
What, go to her house?
Speaker 12 (35:26):
No.
Speaker 7 (35:28):
Thank you, Ryan. Lisa. Lisa, wrap this water cooler chat up.
Speaker 2 (35:33):
Please, hello, Lisa. Would you rather fly or be invisible?
Speaker 15 (35:37):
I'm going against the grain. I'm going to say I
would go invisible.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (35:41):
You know why? Tell me why.
Speaker 15 (35:43):
Because all my friends, I'd be everyone's best friend. I'd
be able to bring the tea every day. And on
top of that, if any of them had, say, a
problem with their mother-in-law and they wanted to know what
she really thought, I'd be like, I've got you, babes.
I'm going to go check it out. Oh, okay. Yeah,
or what about if one of your friends' boyfriends are
playing up a bit or they think that? I can
(36:04):
actually go see if they're really hanging out with their
mates or if they're on a date.
Speaker 7 (36:08):
Actually, you would be useful.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
You'd be very useful, which is more useful than flying
to Edinburgh by flapping your arms, right? Lisa, finally someone's
doing some thinking.
Speaker 7 (36:16):
Lisa, she's a big sticky beak at her gossip.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
Of course.
Speaker 2 (36:19):
Well, there's nothing wrong with that. There's Mr. Pervo over here.
Speaker 7 (36:21):
No, but I would have... At least she's.
Speaker 2 (36:24):
Doing it for the good of other people.
Speaker 7 (36:27):
Lisa, thank you.
Speaker 2 (36:27):
Thank you.
Speaker 7 (36:28):
And thank you to everyone for being part of... Water.
Speaker 13 (36:32):
Cooler chat.
Speaker 14 (36:33):
Water cooler chat.
Speaker 7 (36:41):
Now, get back to work, you slackers. We are awash
with prizes.
Speaker 6 (36:48):
Already we've given away the JQ J5 to Jazz.
Speaker 7 (36:52):
Oh, my gosh.
Speaker 3 (36:52):
I can't believe it. Thank you so much, Jonesy and Amanda,
and thank you, JQ.
Speaker 7 (36:57):

Absolutely.
Speaker 13 (38:27):
This is insane. I'm so excited.
Speaker 6 (38:31):
And we're putting you in a hotel not at Amanda's Divan,
which is great.
Speaker 2 (38:35):
I did offer, but we would have had to go
top to tail.
Speaker 15 (38:39):
No, I'll pass.
Speaker 3 (38:40):
Thanks, Amanda.
Speaker 2 (38:41):
It's all right.
Speaker 12 (38:42):
I've offered.
Speaker 7 (38:43):
I have offered. Many people have jumped to that, Nicky,
not you. Congratulations, you.
Speaker 15 (38:47):
I can't believe it.
Speaker 3 (38:51):
I really can't.
Speaker 15 (38:52):
I'm so excited.
Speaker 5 (38:53):
Good on you, Nicky.
Speaker 2 (38:54):
And the guest list starts again now. So be listening

Speaker 4 (39:13):
You're listening to the Jonesy and Amanda podcast.
Speaker 7 (39:16):
Friday Feels Sessions. We love the Friday Feels Sessions.
Speaker 6 (39:20):
And today, for the first time ever, we've got a
solo member of human nature coming in.
Speaker 7 (39:25):
There's been no trouble.
Speaker 6 (39:26):
Well, I'm just presuming there's been no trouble, but Phil
Burton is doing a Phil by Phil show.
Speaker 2 (39:32):
Yes, he's doing the music of Phil Collins.
Speaker 9 (39:35):
Yep.
Speaker 6 (39:36):
You love Phil Collins. Get us some Phil Collins, Ryan.
This is the big two-fister. What about when he teamed.
Speaker 7 (39:47):
Up with Phil Bailey?
Speaker 2 (39:50):
Are there enough Phils?
Speaker 7 (39:51):
What about when he's banging like a big monkey on
the drums?
Speaker 2 (40:00):
That's all very well and good. But that's Phil Collins.
We actually have Phil Burton in the studio.
Speaker 7 (40:05):
Oh, that is true, Phil.
Speaker 2 (40:05):
We've actually forgotten who we've actually got today.
Speaker 6 (40:07):
So Phil Burton, one of the staples of human nature. Gemma,
can you get some human nature for Amanda, please? There
you go.
Speaker 7 (40:18):
That's a HN.
Speaker 5 (40:20):
What about?
Speaker 7 (40:21):
You want more?
Speaker 13 (40:22):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (40:23):
I've even chucked in a bit of Farnham. And sensitive
human nature. But today, Phil is doing Phil Collins. In fact,
right now, he's just warming up with his keyboardist. Do
(40:45):
you know what song he's going to be doing?
Speaker 1 (40:46):
I do, indeed. I do.
Speaker 6 (40:47):
Anyway, we'll catch up with Phil for the Friday Phil
Sessions next on Gold.
Speaker 5 (40:52):
Jam.
Speaker 4 (40:52):
Jam Nation.
Speaker 2 (40:53):
Well, he is one of Australia's most celebrated and respected entertainers,
and now Phil Burton is getting ready to turn things
up a notch as he hits the stage, taking on
the songs of Phil Collins, covering all of his biggest songs,
one hell of a show. Phil Burton joins us now. Hello.
Here he is.
Speaker 17 (41:11):
Hey, guys.
Speaker 5 (41:11):
How are you going? Thank you for having me on
the show.
Speaker 2 (41:14):
Did you choose Phil Collins because of the Phil connection?
Speaker 5 (41:17):
Well, it doesn't hurt that it's two Phils together there.
But no, that wasn't why I chose it. I'm a
child of the 80s, so Phil Collins is right in
my wheelhouse. All of those songs are songs that are
imprinted on my brain and have been since I was little.
So For me, it was a very easy choice to think,
you know, I think I'm going to put together a
show and I'm going to make it a Phil Collins show.
Speaker 7 (41:38):
Your favourite Phil Collins song?
Speaker 5 (41:41):
Oh, probably Two Hearts. I love a bit of Motown
and that one was actually co-written by Phil with Lamont
Dozier from Holland Dozier Holland.
Speaker 6 (41:48):
Yes.
Speaker 5 (41:49):
So there you go.
Speaker 2 (41:50):
I don't know. Are you speaking English? Was he a
Motown person?
Speaker 5 (41:54):
He was.
Speaker 13 (41:55):
Sorry.
Speaker 5 (41:55):
I'm sorry. I should explain that. Holland Dozier Holland were
like the biggest songwriting team They wrote Reach Out, I'll
Be There.
Speaker 14 (42:02):
Oh, okay.
Speaker 5 (42:03):
Yeah, and amongst many others and all of the Supremes hits.
Speaker 2 (42:06):
Now I'm with you.
Speaker 6 (42:07):
Yep. Amanda's not a big fan of– well, you've had
a love-hate relationship with Phil Collins.
Speaker 7 (42:11):
With Phil Collins, I have.
Speaker 2 (42:12):
I went to see Phil Collins before in the 80s.
Speaker 7 (42:14):
It was the whole Divorce by Facts thing.
Speaker 2 (42:16):
No, I don't even think it was that. I don't know.
I think it was around the Buster era. I just thought–
he just annoyed me.
Speaker 7 (42:22):
Where two hearts came from.
Speaker 5 (42:22):
Was it maybe that there was just too much of
him because he was so– Which now, looking back, I
think that's quite amazing because he was literally everywhere.
Speaker 2 (42:31):
And for a guy who didn't look like a superstar,
he was in every show, he was performing all the songs,
he was in every movie, he was everywhere.
Speaker 5 (42:40):
He was, which is amazing. I mean, you know, deservedly so.
In 1985, he had six top ten songs in a row.
Speaker 7 (42:46):
In one year.
Speaker 1 (42:47):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (42:48):
And to see him in Do They Know It's Christmas,
just on the drums... It's just so good. Like he's
such a phenomenal musician.
Speaker 5 (42:55):
He really was, or still is. I'm sure he still is. But, um,
but just the chance to actually perform these songs because
they are, they're great. They're such exciting songs to get
up there with a full band. I'm going to have
a full band with a horn section, great production. I'm
going to try and make these songs exactly as Phil
would perform them. So.
Speaker 6 (43:11):
Are you going to dress like a geography teacher with
some high-waisted chinos?
Speaker 5 (43:15):
Yeah, I think so. And I might sort of really
slick the hair back. So I look like I've got
a crazy widow's peak as well. And, See how we go. Well,
if you're a.
Speaker 2 (43:22):
Child of the 80s, you could have done the songs
of Flock of Seagulls, perhaps. There are many, many songs.
Speaker 5 (43:29):
I was just thinking that would be like the song of.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
Flock of Seagulls. The song of Flock of Seagulls is
quite true.
Speaker 5 (43:34):
Yeah, three-minute concert.
Speaker 2 (43:35):
I had the haircut that went with that one, sadly.
Speaker 7 (43:37):
Oh, did you?
Speaker 5 (43:37):
The nice little over the forehead like that?
Speaker 2 (43:40):
And sometimes it was flicked back and the rest of
it kind of shaved. And I wonder why it's never
grown back.
Speaker 5 (43:45):
And people ran. They ran so far away.
Speaker 2 (43:47):
They did indeed.
Speaker 6 (43:48):
How do you feel being here? This is the first
time I think we've had you on the show by yourself.
Usually you've got the fellas from Human Nature.
Speaker 5 (43:55):
Normally there's three other gentlemen beside me. It's exciting being
here by myself.
Speaker 7 (43:59):
Anything you want to say about them while they're not here?
Speaker 5 (44:01):
No, they'll always hear it. It'll get back to them.
Speaker 1 (44:04):
There you go.
Speaker 5 (44:05):
I love them.
Speaker 7 (44:05):
They're fantastic. No, I do.
Speaker 5 (44:07):
That's not what you were saying off air.
Speaker 7 (44:08):
Off air before you go. Stop that.
Speaker 14 (44:11):
Stop it.
Speaker 6 (44:12):
So you're going to be performing a Phil Collins song
for us today. What are we going to be performing?
Speaker 5 (44:18):
We are going to be performing because you guys are
going to be singing along.
Speaker 1 (44:21):
Oh, no.
Speaker 5 (44:21):
Well, even if you don't want to, your body is
just going to go, and you're going to sing it anyway.
Speaker 16 (44:26):
Right.
Speaker 5 (44:26):
With the lovely Kristen Fletcher, who's going to be the
keyboard player in the show as well. She is going
to be playing while I sing Susudio. Ah, Susudio in
the Susudio studio.
Speaker 7 (44:37):
This will be.
Speaker 5 (44:38):
I love that. Susudio in the Susudio studio.
Speaker 2 (44:40):
Don't encourage him, Phil.
Speaker 5 (44:42):
Okay, sorry.
Speaker 6 (44:42):
The Friday Phil session, standby. Phil Burton coming up with
Phil Collins on gold.
Speaker 4 (44:48):
See a whole lot more of Jonesy and Amanda on
our socials.
Speaker 7 (44:51):

Speaker 4 (44:52):
Follow us on Instagram and Facebook.
Speaker 7 (44:54):
FFS, Friday Fields Sessions, big acts have come into this studio.
Speaker 6 (44:59):
And today we only have one part of human nature,
but really. He was saying just outside to anyone who
cared to listen.
Speaker 2 (45:04):
But he's the main act.
Speaker 7 (45:05):
Let's face it. The main part of human nature.
Speaker 2 (45:06):
Let's face it. It is Phil Burton, and he's doing
a show, Phil by Phil, where he is doing the
songs of Phil Collins.
Speaker 7 (45:14):
Yes, and you've brought in, Kristen, your keyboardist today. I have.
Speaker 5 (45:17):
Kristen Fletcher is here, who's playing keyboards in the show,
and she's accompanying me today.
Speaker 2 (45:21):
And what are you holding there, young Phil?
Speaker 5 (45:23):
It's a little tambourine, just a baby tambourine. Okay.
Speaker 1 (45:26):
Nice.
Speaker 6 (45:27):
Because I thought tambourines could almost be borderline lame, but
a baby tambourine.
Speaker 5 (45:32):
Isn't it cute?
Speaker 1 (45:33):
It is very cute.
Speaker 7 (45:34):
It's red and everything.
Speaker 5 (45:34):
It's so pretty.
Speaker 2 (45:35):
It is cute.
Speaker 7 (45:37):
You've done your sound check. Everything sounds pretty good.
Speaker 5 (45:39):
We are ready to go.
Speaker 2 (45:40):
You've asked us to sing along, which I'm a little
nervous about.
Speaker 5 (45:42):
Have you warmed up? Are you ready?
Speaker 7 (45:44):
Have you done your vocal exercises?
Speaker 2 (45:45):
Me, me, ma, ma, mo. How about you?
Speaker 16 (45:48):
I have.
Speaker 7 (45:48):
Old Mother Rattle had a rough cut pun. We are
ready to go.
Speaker 2 (45:51):
We're ready to go.
Speaker 7 (45:53):
In the studio.
Speaker 5 (45:54):
Su-su-studio.
Speaker 7 (45:55):
Phil by Phil on gold. Take it away.
Speaker 1 (46:04):
Here we go.
Speaker 14 (46:09):
There's a girl that's been.
Speaker 1 (46:10):
On my mind.
Speaker 14 (46:15):
All the time.
Speaker 4 (46:16):
Su-su-studio.
Speaker 14 (46:21):
Whoa, that sound good?
Speaker 17 (46:24):
Now she don't even know my name But I think
she likes me just the same Su-su-studio.
Speaker 1 (46:36):
Whoa All right, here we.
Speaker 11 (46:42):
Go Ah, if she called me I'd be there I'd
come running anywhere. She's all I need all my life.
Speaker 14 (46:56):
And I feel so good if I just say the.
Speaker 10 (47:01):
Word.
Speaker 1 (47:01):
What's the word, everybody? Come on. Su-su-studio. Oh, yeah.
Speaker 14 (47:07):
Everybody just say the word.
Speaker 1 (47:08):
Oh, what is it? Su-su-studio. Ha, ha, ha.
Speaker 11 (47:17):
Now I know that I'm too young. My life has
just begun.
Speaker 1 (47:24):
Su-su-studio.
Speaker 3 (47:29):
Whoa.
Speaker 7 (47:30):
Jonesy, you're loving it.
Speaker 14 (47:31):
Brilliant.
Speaker 5 (47:32):
All right, yeah.
Speaker 14 (47:33):
Give me a chance.
Speaker 11 (47:34):
Give me a sign. I'll show her any time. Su-su-studio.
Speaker 13 (47:43):
Whoo.
Speaker 1 (47:45):
Whoa.
Speaker 11 (47:51):
Ah, I've got to have her, have her now. I've
got to get closer, but I don't know how.
Speaker 14 (48:00):
She makes me nervous and makes me scared.
Speaker 11 (48:04):
But I feel so good if I just say the word.
Speaker 14 (48:09):
Come on.
Speaker 1 (48:10):
Su-su-studio. Woo.
Speaker 14 (48:15):
Everybody just say the word.
Speaker 1 (48:16):
Oh, studio.
Speaker 14 (48:23):
Everybody just say the word.
Speaker 1 (48:25):
Oh, studio. One more time. Here we go.
Speaker 14 (48:32):
Everybody just say the word.
Speaker 4 (48:35):
Oh.
Speaker 14 (48:36):
Studio.
Speaker 7 (48:39):
Wow.
Speaker 14 (48:40):
You guys are fantastic.
Speaker 7 (48:41):
Human who?
Speaker 2 (48:43):
Jonesy joined in in all the wrong parts there.
Speaker 7 (48:46):
What do you mean?
Speaker 5 (48:47):
All the right words in all the wrong places.
Speaker 6 (48:49):
Phil and I were making good eye contact and not
that creepy eye contact.
Speaker 7 (48:53):
It was good eye contact.
Speaker 2 (48:55):
That was great.
Speaker 5 (48:56):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 7 (48:57):
That was just great.
Speaker 6 (48:58):
Tristan, well done on the keys, by the way, because
Phil was telling me, I said, how long have you
two been working together? And he said, well, we've just
met today.
Speaker 7 (49:05):
Yes, that's right. So that is, honestly, that is extraordinary.
I can't believe that. That's amazing.
Speaker 2 (49:09):
Can I ask a follow-up question? What does that song mean?
Speaker 5 (49:13):
Nothing, actually, to be honest. Phil Collins actually was just
making up gibberish lyrics to go along with. the melody
that he'd written. And then when he came back to
write the real lyrics, he decided, you know what, I
actually can't think of anything better.
Speaker 1 (49:27):
Really?
Speaker 2 (49:27):
So we don't have to look for a meaning?
Speaker 10 (49:30):
No.
Speaker 2 (49:30):
Okay, thank you. I appreciate it.
Speaker 7 (49:31):
You're just giving more reasons for Amanda to hate Phil Collins.
Speaker 2 (49:34):
No, that's not.
Speaker 7 (49:35):
Take it up with your boyfriend's sting and to-do-do-do-da-da-da. Got issues.
Speaker 5 (49:40):
That's another great lyric right there.
Speaker 7 (49:42):
Phil, this has been fantastic. Phil by Phil.
Speaker 5 (49:44):
Thank you so much for having me.
Speaker 7 (49:46):
Head to philburton.com.au.
Speaker 6 (49:48):
Thank you for being part of the Friday Phil Sessions.
Speaker 5 (49:51):
Great to be here. Thank you, guys.
Speaker 6 (50:01):
Ten questions, 60 seconds on the clock. You can pass
if you don't know an answer. We'll come back to
that question if time permits. You know the question's right. $ 1, 000.
Speaker 2 (50:08):
And you can walk away with $ 1, 000. How handy on
a Friday would that be?
Speaker 7 (50:12):
Many have.
Speaker 2 (50:13):
You can make it $ 2, 000 by answering one bonus question,
but it's double or nothing.
Speaker 7 (50:19):
Siobhan is in Montello. Hello, Siobhan.
Speaker 5 (50:22):
Hello.
Speaker 2 (50:23):
Hi, how are you going?
Speaker 11 (50:25):
I'm doing well, thank you.
Speaker 2 (50:26):
That's good. Let's see if we can get you some
money on this fruity Friday. We've got 10 questions, 60 seconds.

Speaker 2 (50:40):
Siobhan, good luck.
Speaker 7 (50:42):

Speaker 2 (50:43):
Don't put her off, Brendan.
Speaker 7 (50:45):
Stone cold Siobhan.
Speaker 2 (50:46):
Don't put her off.
Speaker 7 (50:48):
Come on.
Speaker 16 (50:48):
All right.
Speaker 2 (50:48):

Wizard of Oz. It's also the name of the Prime
Minister's dog, Toto.
Speaker 1 (51:57):
Toto.
Speaker 7 (51:59):
Yep, and a progressive rock band from the 80s.
Speaker 2 (52:01):
Frog rock. What band released the song Mr Brightside?
Speaker 3 (52:05):
The Killers.
Speaker 2 (52:07):
Yeah, The Killers. And the All Blacks with the haka?
No idea. It's New Zealand. They're from New Zealand.
Speaker 7 (52:12):
Amanda's husband has just broken down in tears. You don't know?
Speaker 2 (52:16):
And in which country is the city of Dubrovnik located?
That's Croatia.
Speaker 8 (52:21):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (52:22):
Oh, Siobhan, thanks for.
Speaker 7 (52:23):
Giving it a crack.
Speaker 6 (52:23):
You're still stone cold to me in a good way. Siobhan,
thank you for being part of it. And like Siobhan,
if you'd like to be part of it, jonesydemander.com.au to
play Instagram.
Speaker 2 (52:51):
What bruises have we pressed this week, Jenna?
Speaker 12 (52:53):
Yeah, so it's been a massive week across the Jonesy
and Amanda socials with some of our biggest social numbers
of all time, all thanks to our Tin Hat Tuesday segment.
Speaker 2 (53:04):
Was it about Paul Walker?
Speaker 12 (53:05):
Well, yes, it was regular conspiracy contributor Rob with this
Paul Walker theory.
Speaker 13 (53:10):
I'm going to say right here that Paul Walker and
his partner were murdered. The car was being chased by
a drone. And before the car hit the power pole
and the trees, it was split in half by a
small missile that came from the drone.
Speaker 7 (53:26):
Okay, so why though, Rob? Why would you kill a
movie star and a race car driver?
Speaker 13 (53:31):
Mate, Hollywood's got that much power. You don't understand how
much power they have. Even, you know, Rebecca Gibney, right?
She tried her hand at Hollywood.
Speaker 8 (53:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (53:41):
She went over there and saw what it was all
about and she said, nah, I don't want no part
of that. And she came back to Australia.
Speaker 5 (53:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (53:47):
Yeah, and got the mean eggie.
Speaker 2 (53:48):
Luckily for her, the drone missed her. Well, I'll start
with this.
Speaker 12 (53:52):
The videos received a whopping 5 million views.
Speaker 7 (53:55):
5 million?
Speaker 13 (53:56):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (53:56):
Really?
Speaker 12 (53:57):
Yes, in only just a few days across our socials.
Tens of thousands of comments with some powerful claims supporting
the view that there was more to Paul Walker's death
than we know.
Speaker 1 (54:07):
Wow.
Speaker 12 (54:08):
Yeah, so Michael comments, Paul Walker was planning a documentary
and was going to expose the human trafficking by elites.
Speaker 3 (54:15):
Yep.
Speaker 12 (54:16):
Another added, Paul Walker was part of the Epstein files
and they took him out because he was going to
turn against his own and try to expose it.
Speaker 1 (54:24):
Oh. Yes.
Speaker 2 (54:25):
There's a lot of conspiracy theories all in there.
Speaker 7 (54:27):
So he's with them or against them.
Speaker 13 (54:29):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 12 (54:30):
But no comment from Rebecca Gibney.
Speaker 7 (54:33):
Nothing from Rebecca Gibney.
Speaker 1 (54:34):
No.
Speaker 7 (54:34):
Maybe she's a lizard person.
Speaker 2 (54:36):
Potentially.
Speaker 7 (54:37):
Enjoying that millionaire money that's coming her way.
Speaker 2 (54:40):
She's at home dodging the drone.
Speaker 7 (54:43):
Maybe she is.
Speaker 12 (54:44):
This week, we also lost the one and only Dolly Parton,
who passed away at the age of 80. So back
in 2020, the both of you interviewed Dolly and we
uploaded the interview, which has received hundreds of thousands of
views and an influx of comments. So Tara commented, she
was an angel walking among us, while Julie added, I
(55:05):
thought that somehow she was immortal. What a generous, kind
life she had, reunited with her dear husband, Carl.
Speaker 2 (55:12):
We did all believe that she'd last forever, didn't we?
It's such a shock that she's gone.
Speaker 7 (55:16):
Yeah, she was a big deal.
Speaker 10 (55:18):
She was.
Speaker 2 (55:19):
She was.
Speaker 12 (55:20):
On another note, it's time for Digital Jenners. This is
where I choose my favourite contributor of the week who
will receive a bespoke tin hat made by Amanda.
Speaker 2 (55:30):
Not made of tinfoil, just so you know.
Speaker 7 (55:32):
Big tin.
Speaker 2 (55:34):
This week.
Speaker 12 (55:35):
I just have to give it to our resident conspiracy theorist, Rob.
Speaker 8 (55:38):
Yep.
Speaker 12 (55:39):
Never fails to deliver us some pretty wild conspiracy theories
and subsequently millions of views.
Speaker 7 (55:45):
Indeed. Thank you, Rob. And he comes with his own jingle.
Speaker 13 (55:48):
To do what?
Speaker 12 (55:49):
To go where?
Speaker 10 (55:50):
To do what?
Speaker 13 (55:50):
To go where?
Speaker 4 (55:51):
To go where?
Speaker 16 (55:52):
To go where?
Speaker 12 (55:53):
To do what?
Speaker 7 (55:58):
And curiously, so does Jenna. Thank you, Jenna. We play
more jingles than anybody else.
Speaker 2 (56:08):
Righto, you two.
Speaker 1 (56:09):
That's enough.
Speaker 9 (56:10):
I don't know if that's.
Speaker 2 (56:11):
A boast, Brendan.
Speaker 7 (56:12):
That's a hell of a boast. Friend, have a good weekend.
Be safe.
Speaker 2 (56:16):
Everyone, have a great weekend, and we'll see you on Monday.
Speaker 7 (56:18):
Yes. Ryan, have fun in– where are you going again?
Speaker 9 (56:20):
Oh, he's going– that's right, the Edinburgh Festival.
Speaker 2 (56:22):
Casual. Casual.
Speaker 7 (56:23):
And we'll see you back at work on Monday?
Speaker 9 (56:26):
No, like sometime next week.
Speaker 1 (56:27):
Oh, okay.
Speaker 2 (56:28):
Bring us a fridge magnet.
Speaker 7 (56:29):
Take your time. Good day to you.
