Speaker 1 (00:00):
Alrighty in one corner Elliott, you from the Eagles, in
the other Hayten Young from the Dockers, and in the
middle Bar asking the big questions.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Oh yeah, how good's this having both boys in the
studio and by some crazy coincidence, they could both be
making their comeback. And we'll get to that in a moment,
whether they're fully fit or just extremely optimistic. Sixty two.
Let's cover off the gather round though, and Young he
will start with you. Josh Tracy's that saving mark against

(00:29):
Collingwood in front of Elliot. Elliott thought he was going
to be the hero. Then in comes a man with
the avatar hands and just sucked it in. Was that
a wow moment even for you and for the club?

Speaker 1 (00:41):
Yeah, definitely. I was sitting at home on the couch
and yeah, my heart was racing. But yeah, we've seen
him do it before, so we know in that scenario
usually he goes behind the ball to give us some support.
And yeah, it was just amazing considering the conditions that
he just looked like he was playing with the dry foot.
He out there and yeah, came up clutch that big moment,
and yeah, we reviewed the game. We were pretty happy

(01:04):
with how we executed those last five minutes they had
I think they had two inside fifties, But for large
majority of that last five minutes we controlled the game
and it wasn't perfect, but we found a way to win,
which is all you gotta do.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Yeah, it gives us such self belief, doesn't it. There's
a couple of heroes. Johnno in that past duds was fantastic.
Jaye's goal was blown, shorts blown around it, Windy was it?

Speaker 3 (01:26):
That was crazy.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
I think that's the pleasing thing is in those big moments,
we've got players stepping up that maybe in the past
haven't done so, and we're not relying on, you know,
our best players per se, but so young players are
having big moments and stepping up and rise into the occasion.
So it's a great sign of growth in our group.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
I can imagine you were filthy about not being out there, Yoey.
I saw the coach. He said, first fifty minutes against
you long we were good, and then they sort of
bullied this. I suppose, how does the momentums turn so
dramatically now? Is that just a young players thing or
what do you reckon? Happens? It was in red time
really in the second quarter, wasn't it.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:01):
It was.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
I think it's it's still the state of the game
as well. Yeah, you could put it down to experience,
but state of the game, I think teams are still
finding hard to rest momentum sometimes. So yeah, we're still
trying to find the balance of being able to find
that and what that looks like for us. We've got
a few leavers that we can pull, but sometimes they
aren't enough either. And yeah, it's it's we're trying to

(02:24):
find the answers and we're doing everything we can to
get there. And hopefully that's not the case against Forrer
this week. And it's a good type game for majority
of the four quarters.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
I felt like it was the first time really the
coach gave Harley little clip as well, didn't he just
I don't know if you benched him or whether he
but he actually after the game said, look, you know,
it's a bit of a few undisciplined acts there. And
now I noticed that Hodgy's coming over next month. Have
a chat to him. That's pretty impressive. Isn't that your job?
That were you? Are you okay with that? You're all
sweet cheated on the pressures. Do you think the pressures?

Speaker 5 (03:02):
Look, there's some pretty good players, you know what.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
I mean, when he was young A little bit.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
Yeah, I think a lot of those Hawks boys were
when they were young. But yeah, look, I'm not too
perturbed about it. The more experience and the more heads
that he can talk to the help out the better.
I mean, he's going to be benefit from it in
future as well. So yeah, I don't have any sort
of issues with that at all.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
That's good. You're not jealous. That's good. You're a good man.
I'd be feeling the same as you. Takes a pressure off.
He What about the Pies game too young? I don't
know where you watched it, but there was one commentator
I'll mention him, Gary Lyon. He could not believe that
Collingwood wasn't winning, and how much did he talk about it.
It was getting a bit sort of whoa hang on?
And then he had the backtrack when you guys actually
stole the game, not stole it, but when you won

(03:48):
the game.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Yeah, I did find that a little bit humorous. I
was having a truck on the couch.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Because you knew your blogs weren't going to throw it well, yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
We might have not won all the starts, but we
won the most important start that's getting four points. Yeah,
I thought it was quite funny, but it's interesting how
some people see the game.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Well, we're going to get to finding out whether you're
playing next, that's going to be you two, whether that's
what will happen actually is we'll set it up for that.
What will happen in the middle when you see each other?
Could it could have been you could be facing.

Speaker 5 (04:20):
Off, you shake the hand, I'll see it the.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
Last at the end of the all the media and
Perth just listening in now wanting to know. Everyone wants
to know are the two stars coming back? I know
it's probably tricky. You're a tricky situation. Aren't you are
going to use coach speak or players speak? Or are
you going to say yes without saying yes? You know,
let's go to you first. You're riching to get through training,

(04:46):
I'm sure, and finally play again. What's the chance? And
I remember last week you needed a fitness test. Is
it the same again or we the same.

Speaker 5 (04:53):
Again but more optimistic? That's today, so we'll see how
we go.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
And it's raining out there, and what's the chance at
the first bounce, Youngie, it's Yo Kelly Harleie read versus
sarong bracehare young.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
That's a good chance. Yeah, I'd love to say. It'd
be nice.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Yeah, man, you know, you've probably spent too long on
the sidelines the last couple of years, So be good
to see us both out there.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
Can you give us a signal or something like do
a six seven six seven or something just for the listeners.

Speaker 5 (05:30):
Except that was like last year.

Speaker 4 (05:35):
Yeah, I got it with the kids at Fano and
they're like, no, that's done, that's done.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
What are you doing? Do that?

Speaker 2 (05:44):
What do you reckon? Ninety seventy five percent? You bugs?
What what do you think? What are your rides are playing?

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Well?

Speaker 5 (05:49):
It depends how I get through today.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
That's exactly what I was going to say.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Yeah, I open ninety percent you Yeah, because you were
ready last week when.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
I was pretty close last week. So yeah, I'm pretty
comfortable what he said I did. Is it different? Derby's
different and they're different for you?

Speaker 2 (06:06):
Is it not so much about how what form you're in, YOI,
it's about who handles the pressure of that sort of thing. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (06:12):
It always, it always has been, It always will be
no matter where you know the team is on the ladder,
the derbies are always just a different game.

Speaker 5 (06:22):
So I think a couple of years back, twenty.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Four we had a few Harley's game.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
Well yeah, we had a few lean years and then
come out in surprise Frei in the first derby of
the year.

Speaker 5 (06:32):
So you know what I mean, it can go either way.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Do you reckon you'll go just man on man against them,
or do you reckon you might tag Harley given what
happened a couple of years ago. I mean, you have
the odds on favorites, but you.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Know, yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
We haven't done our sort of preview, so ide, I'm
not sure what the coaches are thinking. But you know,
our system has been working pretty well last couple of weeks.
We obviously played Collingwood last week and I don't think we.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
Really went with a hard tag on Nick.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
So I feel like so sometimes our folks is worrying
about ourselves and making sure we nullify they're strong, they're
better players, but yah, having a focus on our system
and playing our footage. So I'm not sure though, see
what the coaches say.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
And I guess you've been working to Mason Cox already
have you in this in the center setups? I mean,
and now Sean Darcy's out. If he does come in,
you've worked with him already.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
Yeah, yeah, no, definitely.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
I think, well, Sean didn't play some of the preseason games,
so Mason was our number one rock for those games,
so we've got a lot of work with him and
obviously did a full pre season with us. So yeah,
feeling confident that if he comes in, he'll be able
to execute his role, and we've got good connection with him.
So I'm not sure what they're going to do, but
I'm confident if he plays, he'll execute his role.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
And fantastic kid. Devin Robertson is n'ech is that? Yeah,
that's a big bit of blow, isn't it?

Speaker 5 (07:44):
Big Out?

Speaker 4 (07:44):
Yeah, Big Out wouldn't have suspected it.

Speaker 5 (07:49):
Especially, Yeah, it was.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
It was, but you know he kind of jogged off
a little bit limped off, so you're thinking, oh, well,
you know, you're a bit more optimistic about it. I
think maybe it might have been whatever one thought in
terms of a metal but have the acl that's yeah, bad.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Luck, he's had no luck. Great Northern kid through the
per footy club. I got a quick Derby quiz for
you boys. You already here. I need answers quickly as well,
one at a time. We're starting with you, Yoey. Just
answer as quickly as you can. I think I know
the answer this one. What would you prefer on Sunday
a Derby win or a career best game? A career

(08:29):
best game would be big for you after that game.

Speaker 5 (08:32):
Final you always go for the trophy.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
You don't have to answer, man, I know what your
as well. Wet weather or perfect day.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
Perfect day.

Speaker 5 (08:41):
I don't mind the weather.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
Evens up the game a bit personally, some early goals
or a last kicking, the last minute winner, last minute winner,
yeah yeah, on the replace, crowd silence or crowd noise depends.

Speaker 5 (08:58):
Home game noise, away game silence.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
I feel like either way with Eagles home ground, it's
always going to be loud, so I can't really expect silence.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
What's that like for fifty thousand? Either booing or yeah?

Speaker 1 (09:10):
Well, that's what I was going to say about Derby
is like, particularly if it's an away Derby's, it's pretty
hostile and you know, sometimes you can enjoy it. Sometimes
it is overwhelming like when they had that winning twenty
four it was pretty pretty loud. So I think that's
what we got to expect this weekend.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
Wow, So the crowd was a factor in twenty four.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
Yeah, definitely. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
I feel like the Eagles when they're up in the
about very loud, as I found away game.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
What's better getting booed every touch you make or getting
cheered because I reckon you love because you know, you
know you're getting to them and you're winning and yeah.

Speaker 5 (09:43):
Just gets under this. Just give me it more. They
can boom more.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
Yes, yes, I'm going about you man.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
Yeah, probably cheer for me. I haven't been booed yet,
so I don't know what it's like,
