Allways will be on South Australia this weekend and joining
us to talk about gather Around.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
Adrian Barras with Hayden Young Good morning.
Speaker 4 (00:30):
Morning, hey youngie. How are you made so good? Yeah,
I was just we're just talking. The Eagles are on
their way to the airport now they're going. They're going
to be there for four days. They don't played till Sunday.
There's a lot of clinics and stuff going on. Your
boys went yesterday. It's a whole different thing. Gather around
and they get you to do stuff that normally wouldn't
do in the lead up to a game.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Yeah, it is different. It's obviously a great initiative by
the AFL and everyone loves it, but it is a
lot of a bit more workload or I suppose the
commitments for players. But as you said, the Eagles are
flying today and every club has the commitment so it
is an even playing field and it is really great
for the kids and all the community and I'm sure
everyone Adelaide loves it. But yeah, it's a bit different
(01:09):
than like the Eagles are flying earlier. We've got our
captains run today and there'll be stuff for signings and
clinics afterwards and activations, so yeah, it's different. But everyone's
doing it and it's great for footy and I'm sure
everyone Adelaide it's gonna have a great time.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
Great for South Australia.
Speaker 4 (01:24):
I saw Caleb had his own pillow too, because three
nights sleeping over there, takes his own pillow on the plane.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Yeah, there's a few boys that do that. I feel
like people are underestimate how important sleep is. And sometimes
you can't control what pillow you get in the hotel,
so you yeah, taking your own pillow at least you
can control that. So yeah, some people do it. But yeah,
whatever suits.
Speaker 4 (01:44):
You now, knowing you were a bit you'd be a
little bit dark about not playing because this is a
massive game, Monster game. Friday night, you know, the big
stage Collingwood, it's going to be absolutely enormous. Last time
you beat them by a point, remember that game and
VOSSI kicks, I remember that game. Yeah, and you were
playing Dekos had forty three and you didn't tag him
(02:04):
that day. So I don't know what happens. Looks like
he's in what happens with Daikos this week? Will he
get it at someone running with him or do you
just you know, I think back your own system.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Well, yeah, I suppose, as you said, last year, we
had a good day against him and we didn't necessarily
tag him, so it chose it. And then I think
in previous times we have tagged him and shut him
down and we lost that game. So just if you
tag him or don't tag him, I feel like it's
not the only thing that's going to get the job done.
And obviously you've got to be aware of him because
he's a very good player. But whatever strategy you go with,
(02:38):
you still got to make sure you play your way.
And I feel like we did that last year at
the MCG and got the job done. As you know,
twenty three blokes rather than just one bloke trying to
stop Nick Dakos. So I'm actually not sure whatever strategy
we go with. It's not really going to matter as
long as we play our way and we have complete
buying from the whole team, and you know he's going
(02:58):
to have an influence either way. So we just got
to make sure we play our footy and get it
done together.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
And Pindles is back to I think you guys will win. Actually,
but Mason Cox, what's he been like? Because he would
have been desperate to play against his old club, wouldn't
he imagine that would have been something. But you really
don't need to change the team at the moment. You're
going beautifully.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Yeah, you're right, we are going really well. But you know,
Cox has been amazing, particularly this last week. He obviously
played on the weekend and was pretty unreal, so the
Peel boys are pretty pumped with that and so it
was hey, But no, he's been good this week. I
think the opposition sort of analysis coast Land on him
a little bit for some insights and just a little
bit of the way that Connie would think and how
(03:39):
they want to play, so that's been beneficial. But no,
he's been great around the clubby training really well this
week and I mean I'm sure he's probably disappointed. He
would have loved to get out there, but he's going
really well and as you said, the team's playing well too.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
Yeah, something happened at some stage. You'll get his game money.
We should we should mention Alex Pierce's smother though, Smiley,
How was that? I mean, as punters just watching that
was just folklore stuff, wasn't it. And I know you
got the trademark award when you saw it.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
What do you think?
Speaker 4 (04:10):
Because it was it was over easter, and you know,
he looks like you know, and it was unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
It was like a little miracle, wasn't it.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
It was I was already on my feet. I was.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
The last government. You know what it's like in the
in the children.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Yeah, parrots, it's hard work. But no, it was just amazing.
I couldn't believe it. I mean, that's just what we've
come to expect from the big failure.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
And he passed out at the end there when they
were hugging.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
He looks so naked, he leaves it all out there
and that's why he's your skiffar. But that was just
an absolutely amazing moment. And yeah, that's just what we've
come to expect so good. I loved Jordan Clark's chip
and chase too.
Speaker 4 (04:48):
Do you see that where he looked up and there
was there was just Adelaid blokes everywhere goes.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
You know what, I'm kicking it on the ground and
I'm going to chase it.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
That was a massive effort. I think that's going underrated
as well. Everyone's talking about Moosa smother But yeah, like
you said, it was like a four v one and
he's somehow chased and then he was able to impact
the kick and we got a stoppage, which just was massive.
So yeah, I feel like those last few minutes we
didn't actually execute a lot well, which we were reviewed, but
(05:15):
those moments saved us, which sometimes in big games you
just need a few big moments.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
All right, well, we better let you go. But the
you got training this morning.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
The Eagles boys will win the cars listening, so the
news is you'll be back for the Derby, all things.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
Going, Well, that's what we've we're planning. So I've got
a few big sessions to go. But I felt really
good this week and I was like, yeah, pretty itching
to get back to play against Collingwood, as you said,
but you got to make the right decision and it's
a long year, so hopefully have a really good week
of preparation and be ready to.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
Go shay out of the middle. So mate, I'm coming
back in or you go off half back. There's room
for both of us. Thanks for coming in.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
Let's hope free I can make it what four in
a row against the Pies and you'll be back tomorrow
to preview a big wig a sports.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
Yeah, and the Masters and everything else going on. Fantastic
