Speaker 1 (00:00):
Going right around the country with the bigus izzy hits
at night for Oz made It's Baddy Galud and taking
a quick little trip to Melbourne because hard rockers Stone Trier,
but they have got some brand new stuff out. Leaveing
a light on as we shed some light on it
with Richo right now from Stone Trip joining us here
and I was made mate, great to have a bit
of a chat to you.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Cool.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
How you doing?

Speaker 2 (00:17):
I going really well mate? What about you guys?

Speaker 1 (00:18):
How's everything going with the band and having new music out?

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Yeah, we're going really well. Maybe I've flat out we're
trying to keep on top of it all. Yeah that
we've had some really exciting things happening and a few
good things coming up. Yeah, it's all going.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Really well and we're able to shine a little bit
of light on. Leave a light on right now mate.
How did it come about for yourself with Stone Trip?

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Probably in amalgamation as me and Mick Malusa, the guitarists,
being playing together for years and we did a few
demos a couple of years ago and didn't think too
much about them, and I had another listen to them
and I thought they were okay. It gave me a
bit of a ring and yeah, we thought, well let's
go one more, go at it mate. So just been
right and since and put together a couple of awesome
musics to come along and the ride with us.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Yea, it's on with it up with and so with
those original ones that you did have had to re
look at it. Has it evolved? Has it changed the
sound and the style at all? Or they were pretty
much how you wanted it to be and how it
is getting delivered right now, we'd live light on.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
There's been a bit of a shift. Initially we wrote
the four or five songs in the studio, probably writing
a little bit more now as a band rifts come along,
wherever they come from, where they're coming from Jason are
a guitarist or Mick or is a band and something
we put together in a rehearsal studio or whatever it is.
It has changed a little bit, but we're never going
to leave our roots. Where a hard rock and roll band,
I think leave a light on a little bit of

(01:29):
a commercial edge to it, but that certainly wasn't on purpose.
That just the way that song came out. It's just
a crack and tune. So we ran with it. But
just trying to bring back a little bit of rock
and roll, mate, a little bit of that thing called guitar.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
And you have toured with some of the best rock
and rollers as well. When we start to look at
like Roase Tatoo and the Choir Boys, it doesn't get
much better than that.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
Yeah, yeah, look where we can't believe that we've been
associated with such rock royalty. So we're pretty happy. We
just came off too with Roase Tattoo and Tazy a
couple of weeks ago. Were just fantastic to get onto
the end of that. And then when we got back
to Melbourne, we with the first two shows with the
Scream and Jets for their thirtieth anniversary tour. We're we're
hoping for more of it.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Well, how have you seen the progression of the band
with Stone Trip and making your own journey through this
kind of Australian hard rock scene.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
Look, it's been an amazing journey. It's a journey that
we didn't think that we'd get this fuck out. We're
obviously doing something right. I think we're just being true
to ourselves as musicians and we just want to play
and we just want to get out there, and there's
no real formula to the band, and you know, it's
the kind of it ain't broken, don't fix them, a
kind of thing. As cliche as that sounds, that's the

(02:33):
way we've been doing it. I think just a lot
of people miss good four on the floor rock and roll.
So we're just lucky to be able to bring that
out and try and bring it back. And there's no
secret to what we do. We just love what we
do and the more people we get to play with
and we're obviously doing something right. I don't know what
it is, but I don't know. We want to look
into it, to be honest.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
I'm pretty happy with the way it's going, and it
is taking you not only around Australia, but also the
recognition and the fan base that you're creating right around
the world as too, particularly the four singles that you've
already released as well.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
It's getting some good feedback and some good traction.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Yeah it is.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
It's getting some great tracks. Look again, we can't believe
what coming our way. We're just so happy, so happy
to the punners and the people who support us, because
that's what it's all about. So we'll keep fishing it up,
you know, but yeah, we can't believe the response it's got.
Bring on the world awesome.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Well, we're not going to make the people wait any longer.
We're going to play your brand new single, This is
a leave a Light on with stone trip. It is
always great to chat to you, mate. I liked having
you on the show. Would you like to introduce the
tracks on me?

Speaker 3 (03:33):

Get around it and when you by by a T shirt,
fucking roll.
