Speaker 1 (00:00):
Going right around the country with the biggest sozz he
hits at night for OZ Made. It's Maddie Gawood and
one of our favorites here and I Was Made is
Nick Delahoyd. He has followed up huge success that he's
had with his last singles, including Devoted to You, Close
to You is the brand new one. Thanks for joining
us once again and I.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Was Made mate, Thanks for having me. Great to be on.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
Now.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
Not only have you been doing your own stuff, but
you're saying you were even getting out of a little
session that you're writing for some other people too, which
keeps you busy.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Yeah. Absolutely. I mean it's nice to step away and write,
you know, not just your own project, and write for
other people and you know, different genres and getting amongst
different sounds, which is great, and I'm lucky enough to
do with my brothers, which is awesome. So yeah, do you.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Ever find some inspiration for your own stuff from these
kind of sessions as well?
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Yeah? Absolutely. It makes you branch out and get out
of your comfort zone and try things you will normally try.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Is that something similar that came about with Close to
You or how did it come about for you?
Speaker 3 (00:48):
Nick?
Speaker 2 (00:48):
I guess so. Yeah, I mean close to you with
something I did with my brothers, I held onto that
one for a while before I put it out. We
tried something a bit different, more of an indie approach.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
And sure, And is it something that you think that
you're going to be moving forward with with the style
with your Nick Delahode project.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Yeah, I think so. I think that kind of sound
is more where I'm headed, you know, more of the
instrumentation and less of the electronic kind of sound.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
And wh do you work with your brothers Nick? Do
you each have a certain set of skills or things
that you feel like you're better at than each other
that you will bring to the table.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Look, it's very collaborative, definitely, but we all have something
we bring to the table. I guess we work quite
well together.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
That's what you want though, especially when your family too,
because they do say you can choose your friends but
not your family hate.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
Yeah, no, absolutely, do.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
Any of the opinions of you guys get a little
bit stronger or you're all pretty much on the same
page when it comes to how you think a song
should go and be written and how it suits someone
you're writing for.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Yeah, absolutely, I mean, we all have our agendas and
what we think, but we generally we're on the same page.
But you know, if there's something that I like, something
Joe likes or Kim likes, as long as there's one
thing that we've each got in there that we want,
then you know you can you can let the other one,
you know, happen on their own and not get too
worried about it because everyone's going to.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Have their own input at the end of the day,
especially with close to you. And what's the kind of
subject matter for you? When it came to this one,
nick I wrote.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
It about feeling like you're detached from what you're trying
to achieve and trying so hard, and you know, you
feel like you're breaking your back for something you want
so badly, and you're doing anything you can just to
get close to it, no matter the outcome, and no
matter how much is you know, either hard or bringing
you down, you'll do anything. It's about trying to get
close to something that you're working really hard on and
(02:27):
you know that kind of journey to.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Get there, and what are you doing next? So what's Nick, Dela,
Hollyoad and close to you, what's coming out next for
the what's left of twenty twenty two.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
We've been working on a lot of music at the moment.
I guess I'm just picking my next track and how
I'm going to release it. It's all up in the air,
but definitely some singles coming and a potential maybe five
track EP.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Well we think Close to You some pretty good music
made and Nick delad we're going to play it right

it for me?
