Speaker 3 (00:17):
This never happened.

Speaker 5 (00:50):
No worry it's early.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
How rare is this?
Speaker 5 (00:54):
No radio?
Speaker 1 (01:00):
Yeh, Kip is definitely I do struggle struggling. Are you?
Are you normally a sort of a person who gets
to things early?
Speaker 5 (01:07):
Oh I am actually yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:09):
Now normally there's always someone in that relationship that are
always late and that's my wife, and she annoys and
drives me and.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Say, yeah, I'm the late person, so as your missus
the late person.
Speaker 5 (01:18):
Then Bernard, no comment.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
You don't want to start argument. That's okay.
Speaker 6 (01:25):
I don't want to go there.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
What do you do?
Speaker 3 (01:29):
Just sit in the car waiting, just quietly.
Speaker 5 (01:32):
Again.
Speaker 4 (01:36):
I saw these notes here and I was like, there's
no way that it's been twenty years for Tea and Sympathy.
It's incredible songs like this is hard, is hard.
Speaker 5 (01:52):
This is a this has to be out there with
the all time great songs.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
Yeah, playing the whole bit.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
I don't care how long it takes. It's so good.
It's sad, it's such a great song.
Speaker 6 (02:15):
Now when you recorded that, did you know that was
just going to be that good of a song?
Speaker 7 (02:22):
But really you never know, you know, like you can
never tell. I mean, the thing is, it's more about
when you're writing, you you kind of have to think
that every song you're writing is the.
Speaker 5 (02:33):
Best song you've ever written. Yeah, as you're going.
Speaker 7 (02:36):
It's got to it's got to feel like it's really
worth it, you know. Yeah, And it's usually also something
that's you know, at the forefront of your mind.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
At the time.
Speaker 7 (02:51):
So that's part of the reason for writing it is
that it's a way of you know, being able to
express yourself about how you feel about something. And and
those two songs were both actually pretty quick. Wish you
well in particular that that was like that was about
fifteen minutes that's song took it was.
Speaker 5 (03:11):
It was weird. So that does haven't happened very often,
but yeah, it just kind of it. It exploded out
of me one morning when I had a blistering hangover.
That's what it were.
Speaker 6 (03:25):
You writing all your songs or you know, most songs
yours or all.
Speaker 5 (03:28):
Of them, Yeah, all of them. So powder Thing, everything
on Powder Finger was all of us with this, with this,
with my own records. Yeah right.
Speaker 4 (03:38):
Also, I love the setup for this tour that I've
not seen a show. I don't know if there's been
any shows here, but it's in the Cultural four quarter
at the South Bank, so basically whether they sometimes do
like I don't know, the restaurants and the grass like
that grass area, so that's it's actually an awesome spot
for a show.
Speaker 6 (03:58):
You the view will beings, it'll be incredible.
Speaker 7 (04:01):
I've done a couple of shows there over years and
it's amazing. It's an amazing spot. Yeah, really it's pretty
spectacular being right on the river there, and I mean
these days it's it's nuts that like that whole river,
both sides of the river, just really spectacular places to be.
Speaker 5 (04:21):
So yeah, it should be should be a good time
out in front of.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
Q PAK, Yes, and a great line up to yourself
of course. Then there's Casey Chambers, paper Kites, Troy and
Jim Cassa Daily and Georgia Moody.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
Actually I've got a little bit of you and Casey
together here same when.
Speaker 4 (04:46):
To So does this mean we can expect to maybe
see you with some of the other people on stage?
Speaker 1 (05:05):
That might that happen?
Speaker 7 (05:07):
I reckon there's a pretty strong chance, excellent in case
he's going to be there, So I'm I'll just forced
her to do it up and don't get between Chambers
and a microphone.
Speaker 5 (05:20):
There won't be much force.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
That sounded, honestly, that good.
Speaker 6 (05:26):
I just pictured myself being around a fire, yeah and
listening to that while I'm having a cold beer. Yeah,
is there only a chance we could we can bring
our own little little bonfires and just put him out
because him we're outside you.
Speaker 5 (05:38):
Might have to talk to that's not my depart.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
No fair enough? Perfect?
Speaker 1 (05:46):
Are you?
Speaker 3 (05:46):
So are you here? Are you back in Brisbane often?
Speaker 1 (05:48):
Bernard?
Speaker 5 (05:49):
Or like I was there yesterday?
Speaker 3 (05:50):
All right?
Speaker 7 (05:51):
Oh so yeah, my mom and my sister are in Brisbane.
Most of my family is still in Britain.
Speaker 6 (05:55):
So where are you at the moment?
Speaker 5 (05:58):
I'm at home in Barron bar Yeah.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
So do you do you still get when you come back?
I guess you hear regularly enough that you don't go,
oh wow, that building's new, are you sort of?
Speaker 7 (06:08):
Yeah, I'm there pretty often. Yeah, okay, I'm still pretty
familiar with the bar at the regatta?
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Yeah, great, what that is?
Speaker 4 (06:19):
And then I mean, do you feel the same stress
we feel about the Olympic Stadium not being ready?
Speaker 1 (06:24):
Like I just feel like we're not going to We're
not going to get there, are we?
Speaker 5 (06:28):
Who knows? Mate?
Speaker 7 (06:29):
It's it's nuts, isn't it that? It's that it's in
Brisbane and it's and it's five minutes away. Yeah, and
they're just getting cracking now. So yeah, I don't know
how long?
Speaker 5 (06:39):
How long is there?
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Six years?
Speaker 7 (06:41):
And I guess it's got to be ready, like a
year out five years. Yeah, but it's awesome that it's
on Bridson. I can't that's that's so, that's so good.
I can't wait.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
Can we can we ask you like this?
Speaker 4 (06:52):
Just when when the station, when the stadium is ready
and open, you know it needs something massive, I think
to kick off.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
And no, I didn't even say the people.
Speaker 5 (07:07):
No, I'll just I'll just go back to my format,
no comment.
