Speaker 1 (00:00):
Robin Keith and Corey Oats in the morning.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Corey had what you described as one of the greatest
days of your life. Happened over the last couple of weeks.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
Well, I remember looking on my Instagram. I had all
these random comments and tags and stuff. I'm like, what
is going on here? What am I being tagged in?

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (00:20):
And then I click on the video and it's this
this lady Lexi and she's explaining my voice to people
in America. I think she's American.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
She's American, but sounds like she's living in Australia. Yeah,
She's got a huge following on TikTok and Instagram. And
she's listening to the radio and says this.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
This is my favorite Australian accent. Who is this game?
What about?

Speaker 2 (00:46):
This is the new Ranger you got?

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Yeah? What Australian dialect? Where is this go from? Because
this is my favorite accent. It is so like to me,
it sounds so exaggerated and like a beautiful way. It
borders on almost like a British accent. What like a hybrid.

(01:12):
I'm obsessed with it. I don't know the scape, but
I love the scape.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
I mean, I don't hybrid, hybrid, hybrid.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
It is exaggerated.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
It's true.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
I thought she was going to say it sounds almost
comical because it's so over the top. It is not
so bushy.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
You have to have a chat, just David jealous of
my gift.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
You gift.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
This is going to be the best is the best
day of my life. It's gone viral, it's gone.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
It's gone crazy and so many comics.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
How many people love it? Yeah, and just you like,
you can't look, have you not realized right now? How
lucky you to what for would be given such a
great gift to be able to hear this all day
every h.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
You're welcome, You're welcome, Brisbane blessed to have one of
the greatest voices apparently with us in the studio every day.

Speaker 4 (02:08):
Yeah, it just does.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Sammy Thodo, by the way, wrote no, no, no, you
don't understand. You don't have to work with him lex Now, Robin,
you'll notice that Corey is not that busy on our
group chat.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
Corey doesn't read any of the message.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Us, but every now and then and across the holidays.
It was weird that Cory just popped up, Hey, you know,
all of a sudden wanted to chat with everyone to
share his big news, and his big news is that
he's all over TikTok and an Instagram on this page
lex in Wonderland is this American lady who lives in Brisbane.
I'm guessing who posted this story whilst listening to the

(02:43):
radio in her car.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
This is my favorite Australian accent. Who is this game?

Speaker 2 (02:51):
But what about that's the new ranger you got?

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Yeah? What Australian dialect? Where is go from? Because this
is my favorite accent. It is so like to me,
it sounds so exaggerated in like a beautiful way. It
borders on almost like a British accent, like a hybrid.

(03:17):
I'm obsessed with it. I don't know the scape, but
I love the scape.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Well, there's so many comments suggesting people saying where he
might be from, some saying Perth, saying he's definitely North Queensland.
And that video has now had half a million views.

Speaker 4 (03:31):
Yeah, it's going viral, yes, which is why Corey's so
interested in Of the four hundred and ninety five thousand,
I reckon at least four hundred of Corey or just.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Watching it again show people say, look you are to
hear you, and Lex, who posted the video, joins us.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
Now, good morning, Lex, Hey, good morning. Now.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Am I right that you live in Brisbane?

Speaker 5 (03:51):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Yeah, correct, okay, and you heard the dulcet sounds of
CoreOS and you just couldn't help it post about it
because you loved it.

Speaker 5 (03:59):
I didn't help it. I mean, generally speaking, Americans love
the Australian accent every form in dialect. Right since moving here,
I've noticed there are nuances to the the accent depending
on I guess I've learned a lot from this post.
I said, Oh no, it's you know, he's he's from Bogainville.

(04:22):
Sounds like a broad accent, and I'm like, what's a
broad accent? So I guess I wasn't too far off.
But there are there's a lot of different variations. And
oh yeah, Corey, I'm so sorry. I I didn't know you.
My only defenses I'm new here, and now I do
know you are.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
That's for your Americans. Honestly, i'd be sorry at all.
Oh I should thank you, Alexi. You have made my loft.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
And old my loft.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
I've had so how many people tell me, you know,
do you have a shout out, do you have a stop?
And now I'm just gonna say, look, you're very lucky
to be hearing me right now and be a part
of this such a great voice.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
Lex Are you serious? Did you really like do you
really find this accent to be the bestest Dradian accent
you've ever heard?

Speaker 5 (05:12):
Yes? This is this is a personal opinion, right I have.
I've gotten some exposure now we've been here a little
over a year and a half to the different variations,
and every time I hear this one, I'm like, but
there's something about it. I don't know, it's it's it's uh, yes,

(05:32):
it's well. Evidently, according to the comments, some people have
given like statistics to the different types of how many
people have Evidently, according to the comments section, the broad
accent is the rarest oh accent.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
It's the rarest, I say some of the comments here.
If you're in Brisbane, just travel west and keep traveling
west and then north.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
More of it. Is there anything that you would like
Glory to say to you? Is there any like phrasing
that would make your day to hear this accent be
repeated back to you?

Speaker 5 (06:08):
Good day, may Hi garn.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Hey you gown.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
You can make one wood like it's three words, but hey.

Speaker 5 (06:17):
You gown, it's quite hard.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
Yeah when you say get on my day gown and
it wasn't too bad. Yeah, that's great. Your mom was
pretty good, thanks too.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Yes, that's an incredible amount of views even on TikTok
as well. So like Instagram and TikTok, you must be
getting near a million views on that thing.

Speaker 5 (06:37):
Yeah, maybe close. It's interesting because I spend I can
spend hours on a reel, right and it gets like,
you know, ten thousand views. And then that one literally
took me maybe four minutes. The car park, Yeah, a
shopping center and yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
Gold gold from the car park. Can you say car
parks please?

Speaker 3 (07:00):
Like Pa, you're getting there choppers on Saturday?

Speaker 5 (07:06):
Yes, the saut in my jawl and my like pretend
I have some like novacane and my.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
There you go, just like you've left the dentist and
then you can talk Australian.

Speaker 5 (07:20):
It's very exactly. There you go. I guess I have
you to thank Corey, thanks for all these you're bringing them.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
