Speaker 1 (00:00):
Robin kids and couriotes.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
In the morning.
Speaker 1 (00:03):
Okay, so I'm very excited about this.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
As a former gold defense goalkeeper in many netball games,
I found out that Monty has started netball. But the
smart thing you've done here is put her into a
sport that only goes for a season.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Yeah, and the games aren't that long, aren't they? Like
forty minutes? That's good in it.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
Yeah, So this is this is a conversation for parents
and it is a safe space.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
Yes, this will be good and certainly you know Siena
my little girls not even too yet, so I've got
time to sort of guide her to the right sport
that Raffi hasn't really started proper sports yet. So what
is the worst sport as a parent? What is the
worst sport to have your kids into? Thirteen six five rowing? Rowing?
(00:57):
Why bad?
Speaker 4 (00:59):
Could have you realized?
Speaker 3 (01:02):
So early?
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Five four am? Every day?
Speaker 5 (01:05):
Oh year?
Speaker 3 (01:06):
And it's a terrible spectator sport rowing as well, isn't
it like you stand by the river and going is
that them? What's the city gap?
Speaker 6 (01:14):
Like?
Speaker 3 (01:14):
What are you looking for?
Speaker 4 (01:15):
The stroke?
Speaker 5 (01:16):
Right?
Speaker 6 (01:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:18):
What's your impact?
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Australia must be great at it because we've done the Olympics.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Yeah, so I'm not dissing as a parent. Make the decision.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
Yeah, it'd be a lot of time, like a lot
of travel. I reckon there'd be a lot of traveling
that one.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
And how many professional rowers make a lot of money.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
True, it's hard. Even if you get Olympic gold, you're
only a chance.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
What did that awesome force them?
Speaker 6 (01:41):
Do?
Speaker 1 (01:41):
They did some fruit ad?
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Yeah, Golden Valley. I remember my my cousin Andrew telling me,
he goes, mate, I got my my girls into he
goes Irish dancing. He goes, it's the least sexy your dancing.
You don't have to worry about anything.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
It was a method in his madness to protect his
girls from a lot.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
If they go to a nightclub, they've got nothing sex.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
They're just arms to the side and kicking.
Speaker 4 (02:08):
Here's what I reckon. I reckon there's a surprise about
which golf. It is so expensive. Yes, it's a lot,
a lot, like there's a lot of training every day,
it's so long. But I'm saying I love golf, and
I'm not saying I wouldn't want it, But it's so expensive.
It's one of the most expensive sports to get your
kids into, but then the chances of them actually doing
(02:32):
well come out of I've got some friends that play
professional around, you know, getting around, and it's almost like
you you have to make or win about a couple
hundred grand at least a year just to pay for
your travel, just to cover cost like that that has
to be up there.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
We have kicked you off.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
We have given you the sports that we've got in
our mind, but you guys have personal experienced, so please
thirteen one oh six.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
Five talking about the worst sports.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
From a kid parents perspective.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
Yeah, we're not saying the sport's bad, but as a parent,
as a parent, some of these.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
Sports are awful.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
Well, tennis be out there, you reckon.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
Oh yeah, well you take money.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
It could be expensive, but I mean, at least you
can just sort of drop your kids off, you know,
they're in a caged area.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
Well, I broke a lot of rackets. I felt sorry
for my y.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
Well, for some people, it's bad.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
On our text line four o nine nine seven three
nine seven three morning guys, I love this sport and
wouldn't change it now, but baseball is long and expensive.
You get there an hour before the game for warm
up and then watch the game for an hour and
a half.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
Bat's are upwards of five hundred dollars.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
Gloves are up there when you need a glove for
different positions, so you need different gloves.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
Just when you think the season is over.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
They have softball, and that requires a different batch and
a different glob and just as much travel.
Speaker 4 (03:57):
They might not even hit the ball. They might get,
they might just.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
It's just America's cricket, isn't it, Carol out of ben Lee?
Speaker 1 (04:04):
What's the sport?
Speaker 5 (04:06):
Cheerleading?
Speaker 3 (04:07):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (04:08):
What's wrong that parents?
Speaker 5 (04:11):
Because they trained from as soon as they finished school
till seven, eight, nine, ten o'clock at night.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
And then where's and where's the future gains? Like, where
do you go?
Speaker 5 (04:22):
We're going to make money? They can go like one
of mine's in level five, really young. They can't get
money back. You don't get money back. You've got tanning,
you've got eye lacking, you've got handmakers.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
Never wanted to you never want to do a sport
where you have to take your kids to get a
fake that's out.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
And also just.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Thinking about it, there's no adult I mean apart from
it unless you do like a NRL or like, there's
so few, John.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
And they don't make great money the Broncos.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
I'm with you, Carol, Johnathan Thornlands, what's.
Speaker 7 (04:59):
Just You guys call it soccer. I call it forty Yeah,
Well your four grand later in the beginning of every
season three and a half to four grand depends on
on the club that you're obviously representing. Added to that,
three times a week I have to drag a system
(05:21):
along to spend two hours waiting for her while she trained,
So it's half an hour there, two hours well for there,
half an hour back travel And that's three days a week,
and then your weekends are completely written off, depending on
whether it's a Saty or a Sunday. Oh for me,
love the game, love to watch it, John. My daughter
(05:41):
is never going to be good enough.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Honestly, John, can I tell you of my son's career
careers as schoolboy football players? Twenty two sessions Awake I
did between the three of them.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
I know exactly what you're talking about.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
That is just insane. Yes, you're like a sport. Sport's great,
but as parents actually merely our producer. Now you've got
a sport. A word of warning, what was the sport
that you got into.
Speaker 7 (06:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (06:13):
So I grew up doing aerobic gymnastics, which is a
mix between dance, cheerleading and gymnastics.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
And it was expensive, man.
Speaker 6 (06:21):
I honestly poor appearance because I think, oh, I don't
even know how much they paid a year. But with
a Roba gymnastics, you had to pay about i'd say
like two three hundred dollars for just the music of
your routine, and the routines are about like a minute long.
On top of that, we also had to pay up
to a grand for outfits a year, so we have
(06:42):
one or two outfits per year, and so they're about
like eight hundred to a grand. And then on top
of that you also had to pay for the choreography
and the makeup and the fake tans like yes, yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:55):
Look how look where it's got Yeah, and radio guys.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
At least I'm a vibe when I go out. You
know what I mean, you rock the dance. I really do.
I own that stage. That's what took me.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
