that there's a big drawer, we buy a ticket. It's

online onto the Lotto app and I bought a ticket.
We wake up on the Sunday morning, but you didn't
even watch the drawer.

No, never, You're going to make people so mad, And
I'm really sorry. It was just a flippant choice thing
that I did on a Saturday night. I opened the
app and all of this confetti fell down in the app.
So I spent one hundred and sixty dollars and forty
five cents and that's the only numbers I could see.
One hundred and sixty dollars and forty five cents. And

I was like, oh, well, that's not a loss. I
pretty much won, but I spent. And then I looked
at the app and I went, hang on, holy, what
what is that? Four point three million dollars? And I
just I couldn't believe it. It was four point three million,
and so many other numbers following that.

So Monday morning, you are sitting at home together and
you get a cool no.

We actually at the coffee like a cough shop, and
we were drinking that and the phone rang and we
both looked at it. It's like, holy, this is the call.
And she's like, oh, I can confirm with you that
what you are seeing on the app is real.

So four point three million dollars? What did you do?
So it's confirmed?

Then what I fall on my knees and I cry
for a little bit. You don't you don't understand how
life changing this was. I was in a job that
I hated and I was going through the motions every

single day. I hated every living moment of waking up.

We stopped having to worry, We stopped having to be
concerned about paying the mortgage.

Well, we're not now going what we need like five stars.
Like that hasn't changed this. We're traveling to catch up
with friends. It's not like we want five stars. We
just want to be comfortable and we're not going to frivolously.

We're not just.

Spending money for the sake of spending money. We're just
we're doing it smart.

We were smart with our money beforehand, what we got

thirty years. From the very second that we got together,
we gave. We gave to his family, we gave to
my family. We supported so many different people in our family.

gave so much money to so many people to ensure
that they had food on the table, they could pay
an electricity bill, they could pay their phone bill, they
could pay their car payment. And only last week, and

yet we're now in a really good position. Really sorry,
I gave somebody five thousand dollars because.

She was in a situation you could so will that
money last you forever?

I do this. But actually, if it gives you the
freedom to live the life you want to live, you.

You need to be very sensible about it. We are
six days away from twelve months. We still have the
exact same amount of money, and it's because we understand

got the principal amount, which will keep you for the rest.

There's been no significant change. I don't think friendship nobody's
been you for winning or wanting money or wanting money.

But like the people that we know and love, we've
sort of been able to. Yeah, and it's not we
haven't told that many people, not for the sake of
trying to hide it. But it's just this day and age,
you just need to be I like to be discreet
at the best of times, so it's just happen that way.

So, I mean, this is random, but everyone wants anyone
who plays lotto wants to win it.

So if you had advice, what would you say.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Don't expect it's going to happen, but if it does,
be sensible.

And what does that mean. Take a breath.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Oh, absolutely, absolutely take a breath. Like it was, it
was all consuming at the beginning.

If you win a significant amount of money, you need
to find a financial advisor that is going to lead
you in the right direction because you want it to last.

This is going to changes your future if you do
it right. It allows you do things you weren't going
