Speaker 3 (00:13):
Good day.
Speaker 4 (00:14):
It's Robin Kipp and Corio. It's on demand the podcast
right after the show. Today. You're heading off camping, Corey.
Speaker 5 (00:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (00:23):
Yeah, and you know, I feel like I'm more prepped
than that. But I thought, you know what asked? Is
there anything that you believe I've probably forgotten everything.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
It's usually the most obvious and most necessarily things like
a sharp knife.
Speaker 4 (00:35):
Yeah, okay to ask okay, okay, okay, well let me
think about it.
Speaker 7 (00:40):
Yeah, Robin Kip and Choreotes in the morning, get ready
for the worst jokes you'll ever hear.
Speaker 4 (00:48):
It so bad.
Speaker 8 (00:50):
They're good, or at least that's the idea.
Speaker 4 (00:53):
They might make your laugh, but you'll probably grown.
Speaker 8 (00:57):
Hey, it's Robin, Kip and.
Speaker 4 (00:59):
Corey is a way Jokes Wednesday.
Speaker 7 (01:03):
Thirty six five. I've got something to make us laugh
this morning. Have you heard the joke about yoga?
Speaker 4 (01:08):
No, never mind, it's a bit of.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
A stretcho can only go up from me from London.
Speaker 9 (01:16):
What's your joke?
Speaker 10 (01:17):
Okay? Two irishmen were walking out of the funeral one
church to the other and.
Speaker 11 (01:22):
Says it was a beautiful ceremony, Marini, wasn't it?
Speaker 10 (01:26):
It was, replied the friend. Listen, when I go, will
you pour a decent bottle of whiskey.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
Over my grave as a toast?
Speaker 12 (01:33):
I will, says a.
Speaker 10 (01:34):
Friend, But would you mind if I run it through
my kidneys?
Speaker 8 (01:37):
First?
Speaker 9 (01:42):
Kelly VICKI point, you got two jokes? What are they?
Speaker 13 (01:45):
Oh?
Speaker 14 (01:46):
The first joke is what you call of the marine
that doesn't come back a stick?
Speaker 15 (01:51):
Yes.
Speaker 14 (01:54):
And the second one was when I was single, every
time we go to weddings, my grandparents would go, you'll
be negs, but they stopped when I started doing it
to them at funerals.
Speaker 13 (02:05):
I love.
Speaker 9 (02:07):
Salady kippering.
Speaker 16 (02:10):
Hey, guys, how we going.
Speaker 9 (02:13):
Come on.
Speaker 16 (02:15):
A little bit of a long one, but anyway we'll
get there. A man walks into a bar and he
pulls out of his pocket a small man about a
foot tall, and sits him on the bar. And then
out of his other pocket, he pulls out a small
piano and sits that on the bar, and the small
man starts playing it. The barman says, wow, where did
you get him? The man says, there's a genie down
the road giving out free wishes. The barman takes off
out the door. Later he comes back with a bunch
(02:36):
of ducks all around him. He says, Wow, that genie
that you told me about is terrible.
Speaker 12 (02:41):
I asked him for a.
Speaker 15 (02:41):
Million bucks and he gave me a million ducks.
Speaker 16 (02:44):
And the man at the bar says, well, do you
think I asked for a twelve inch peanuts?
Speaker 4 (02:49):
I love it.
Speaker 7 (02:50):
I love it so well if you got one for
us thirteen one sixty five, it's worst joke Wednesday when
we get the ball rolling in this one?
Speaker 8 (03:01):
Did you hear about the guy who dipped his testicles
in glitter? It's pretty nuts?
Speaker 4 (03:07):
Why does Snoop? Why does Snoop Dogg use an umbrella?
Why so drizzle?
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Now? Saladi Kippering, you come on every week? You've already
given us one.
Speaker 9 (03:19):
What's your second one?
Speaker 16 (03:20):
All right, guys, there are two blondes walking through the
woods and they came across some tracks. The first one says,
how cute deer tracks. The second one says, no, they're
not deer tracks, they're wolf tracks. The first one says,
but my dad's a hunter and he taught me that
these are deer tracks. They went on arguing back and
forth for twenty minutes, and then they both got hit
by the train.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
And from one regular to another, Peter Flinders view, what
have you got?
Speaker 15 (03:49):
I got this friend from New York and names Gloria,
and she's she's in her sixties, but she looks about thirty.
And I said, Gloria, what's your secret?
Speaker 3 (03:57):
She said, Oh, honey, the barker put me on a
banana a day and they.
Speaker 15 (04:01):
Haven't looked back. But she said, will you look fantastic?
Speaker 8 (04:04):
Mate?
Speaker 3 (04:04):
I said, what you know?
Speaker 15 (04:05):
But you must get tired of eating all those bananas. Oh,
she said, honey, Hell said anything about eating them?
Speaker 9 (04:11):
Okay, this is the first time ever.
Speaker 4 (04:15):
I don't understand it. What hanger I don't understand it.
Hang on a hanger is a doctor hang away?
Speaker 7 (04:22):
So the doctor said to her what she said?
Speaker 3 (04:27):
Since my doctor put me on a banana a day,
I haven't looked back. But you must get tired of
eating all those banana And she said, oh, honey, Ell
said anything about it?
Speaker 4 (04:43):
The audience, you got another one, fete.
Speaker 15 (04:50):
You might have this one already. What prize fighters have
sex or night before a fight because they don't like
each other.
Speaker 9 (05:01):
Let's finish it off with Blake and Purpengary. What have
you got, Blake?
Speaker 3 (05:06):
So my horrible joke is that what a runners eat
before they go for the marathon or a run?
Speaker 4 (05:12):
What a runners eat before a marathon?
Speaker 11 (05:14):
What?
Speaker 15 (05:15):
Nothing? They passed me.
Speaker 8 (05:18):
Past?
Speaker 14 (05:23):
My grandmother loved me joke.
Speaker 8 (05:26):
Somebody has to blake.
Speaker 4 (05:35):
Robin And in the morning James Rain joining us, Mate.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
Good morning, you are one of the icons of Australian Yes,
but what do you listen to?
Speaker 9 (05:45):
What do you like?
Speaker 12 (05:46):
I listened to a lot of like old blue stuff.
But then when my was my daughter's like she's twenty six,
which when she was younger, she would get in caship
common to you that the playlist in the car and
she plays stuff sometimes Hey what's that? What's that? So
she would turn me onto a lot of stuff. Now
I'm now part of my kind of DNA know.
Speaker 9 (06:09):
Yeah, did she ever think you were cool?
Speaker 12 (06:11):
If she did, she'd never tell me if your dad
ever cool? Not really?
Speaker 6 (06:19):
You never hear a belt Now the boys light up
and we.
Speaker 12 (06:25):
Had running family jokes about we've been in the supermarket,
you know, peas and it had come on and said
I can't stand it, and I go, oh my god.
So she'd laugh and then all I'd find embarrassed and
sing along loudly with it.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
She grabs two packs and Tim, don't be so right now.
Speaker 7 (06:49):
I mean right now in Australia we're in the middle
of like Sporting Heaven with State of Origin and also
the World Cup.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
But do you get into either of those.
Speaker 12 (06:58):
Not that I don't like them, It's just that I
grew up from Victoria culturally, from when I was a
little kid. Timy kid, I played footy from when I
was you know, five or six, saying rules for b AFL.
The only game I really know is AFL.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
James, what has made you I've seen so many times
as a solo guy over the last couple of decades.
Speaker 9 (07:16):
What's made you put the band back together?
Speaker 12 (07:18):
It wasn't really, I can't take credit for it. There
was my manager, Scott and promoter called Dwayne McDonald. They
all had this idea. They said, do you reckon It's possible.
They talked to Simon Binks, who is the guitar player
in the band, and Simon was into it. Unfortunately two
of them aren't with us anymore. And John Watson, who's
was the drummer in the last four years of Australian
Call plays drums with me, so he was in it
(07:41):
and we thought David, my brother, was the original drummer.
So David was into it and he's going to play
some percussions.
Speaker 8 (07:45):
Am I to ask what brought the band to end?
Like you know a reason or was it just yeah, yeah,
why just break up? In the end?
Speaker 12 (07:55):
Bands run their natural course and spend your whole life
living in each other's pockets, and you grow up as
human beings. You're a different person when you're twenty when
I was like twenty six or twenty seven when the
band finished, so you changed, but there was no big
falling out. I mean, we've made a record. We paid
(08:16):
for ourselves. The last record we made didn't work commercially,
so we had a few debts, so we went on
the road for a year and a half to pay
off all the dead. We had fun.
Speaker 7 (08:25):
That's one of those things that's really come back with music.
Like you were around at a time when pub music
and live music was absolutely out of control.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
You.
Speaker 7 (08:33):
I mean, you must pinch yourself someone as you look
it back, and a lot of the midnight earlier and
like Boom Crash Opera, who you're going to be doing
this red Hot summer tour with like the pub band.
The live music scene in Australia was so healthy in
the eighties and I feel like it's not so much pubs,
but the touring scene is well and truly back, because
it's the only way to really actually make a living
out of it, isn't it.
Speaker 12 (08:54):
Yes, the anyway, playing live is the only way to
living out of playing music. If your young band billing
a career, you just got to get and play live. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (09:00):
I remember Vance Joe. We spoke to him.
Speaker 7 (09:01):
He's got like a billion streams and it was like
the amount of zero's and the point bucks.
Speaker 5 (09:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
True, it was insanely true.
Speaker 7 (09:10):
Looking at some of your early life, like you were
saying you grew up in Melbourne, but you were born
in Nigeria if I was, so, what was your family.
Speaker 4 (09:18):
Doing there and how old when you came to Australia.
Speaker 12 (09:20):
Well, my father had been in the Royal Marine, so
he's an Englishman and they met in Melbourne. He was
posted there and he didn't want to be a Queer soldier,
so he left. They moved back to England. He got
the job with BP trying and was posted to Nigeria,
and while they were there they had me and my
brother and then they realized, you know what, this is
(09:41):
not a very safe place. Let us move to Australia.
So they came here and we grew up in Australia,
and my sister when they were in Australia, and we
all grew up in Australia.
Speaker 7 (09:51):
You don't know any Nigerian princes, do you, Because I've
got one who wants to send me four million dollars.
Speaker 4 (09:55):
I've got an email about it.
Speaker 8 (09:56):
The other day.
Speaker 4 (09:57):
You too.
Speaker 12 (10:00):
He's a generous guy.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
He's so good.
Speaker 8 (10:04):
I can't wait.
Speaker 4 (10:04):
I've given him my account.
Speaker 7 (10:11):
Well, we can't wait to together with Ozzie Crawl for
the red Hot summer too.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
It might, it's been too long. We can't wait.
Speaker 9 (10:17):
Thank you all very much, Robin Kidd and Coyotes.
Speaker 7 (10:22):
Yeah, Georgie, who normally is in after ten having a
parent bragging moment.
Speaker 4 (10:27):
She was very proud of a little fellow. Louis.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
Yeah, he did the most extraordinary thing. After a running race.
He not only he and you know, bless him. In
the actual race he came last, but he tried super
hard and as soon as he finished, he went and
shook the.
Speaker 9 (10:40):
Hands of all the people that won. Next to him.
He just said good job, and he was smiling.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
He was so excited for his mate that one.
Speaker 7 (10:49):
So we thought we'd ask about parent brags and got
so many that we didn't get to Shaley Yer, watch
your brag.
Speaker 17 (10:58):
So my son when he was years old, he's almost
thirty two, he wanted to buy scene for a present
for Christmas, and he bought. He thought about it hard,
and he got a little notepad for his good list
and bad list, of pencil and the rubber to help
him out.
Speaker 6 (11:16):
He's done the list on the good one and put
his own name in there.
Speaker 18 (11:22):
No, he didn't.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
That's beautiful, Tara Albany Craig, you got a kid brag.
Speaker 19 (11:29):
Yes. When my son was in praps, he was an
avid reader. Not so much now that he's sixteen with
phones and a hormone, but he won a competition for
being book reading lots of books. When he was reading
one of the books, he tore the page of a
book and unbel answered me and went up to the
teacher and offered to you he voucher to replace the book.
Speaker 9 (11:51):
Oh yeah, good luck with your one. Hormone. Rachel Bengary East,
what's your brag?
Speaker 5 (12:04):
When my daughter was four, she was doing ballet. She
wasn't very good at it, but she was keen to go.
And one time the teacher had them all lined up
doing exercises and being fairies and stuff like that, and
Laura had pulled her tou tou up around her neck
and she started to stomp around the class and the
(12:25):
teacher said, Laura, what are you And she goes, I'm
a Pokemon on bulblezor and the teacher said, Laura, don't
ever stop being yourself.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
And it's like, ah, yeah, no dancing fairies there.
Speaker 8 (12:42):
Then at a forest lake, what's a kid bragmte.
Speaker 20 (12:45):
Oh my my little boy Phoenix he plays rugby leagues
in under eleven.
Speaker 12 (12:49):
He plays for South Dakoshia Ridge.
Speaker 20 (12:52):
After every game, he always finds the referee and goes
and shakes his hand. If the game.
Speaker 4 (12:59):
That is great, he's really good.
Speaker 7 (13:01):
Much more that should I mean, it's great that he's
doing it without it being a rule, but it actually
should be a.
Speaker 4 (13:06):
Thing that should all have to do that.
Speaker 8 (13:07):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 12 (13:09):
Well he goes out of his way.
Speaker 20 (13:11):
He runs back if he says the ref walking out
of the sheds and does over and shakes his hands
and because the United's, yeah, there's not without the rest.
Speaker 8 (13:23):
That's exactly right. That is right, It's really good.
Speaker 9 (13:27):
And Vivia, Fannie Hills, what's your brag?
Speaker 15 (13:31):
I got?
Speaker 10 (13:32):
My name is Daviah. I'm actually calling about my son,
kier And who's five years old. But we actually started
doing this thing at home called like growth mindset and
fixed mindset and journaling. And it was because he was
just really struggling with prep and transitioning and having some
issues in prep class. And we talked about making mistakes,
you know, learning from those mistakes and being okay with
that because obviously children feel a lot of pressure to
(13:54):
perform and do well and it's a really big thing
these days. And I wasn't sure if it was really
getting in his head or anything like that when we
were doing the activities. But one night I came home
after having the most deflated day at work. It was
a long shift. I was exhausted, not everything went the
way I wanted it to. And I remember him coming
into my room and he said, what's wrong, Mom? And
I said, oh, look, I've just had an awful day.
(14:15):
And things just didn't go the way I planned, and
I wish I'd done better here and here, and it's
just so frustrating and maybe I shouldn't be doing this job.
And I don't know. I was obviously very deflated in
disclosing to him. And then he just turned around and said,
it's okay, mom, It's okay to make mistakes. It's okay
to learn from the mama. And he said it's about
having a growth mindset. Yeah, like we talked about to
start again tomorrow and give it another go. Moved me
(14:39):
to tears. He's fine, and I was just so stunned,
you know. It was just like everything I've said is
actually getting through. But also he just flipped the switch
on me. Thank you.
Speaker 7 (14:58):
We were having a chat with Harry Gramt of course
Melbourne Storm and in Queensland great about what they get
up to in camp, and we're all, well, Robin and
I at least, we're very surprised to know about what
they get up to and what a huge part this
is of origin.
Speaker 12 (15:15):
And rub and Cotter and Lindsay Collins. We've got a
little card game going on.
Speaker 6 (15:19):
So the hard games in rugby league tell you.
Speaker 12 (15:24):
It's good to look forward to.
Speaker 9 (15:26):
What you play cards?
Speaker 3 (15:28):
Yeah, yeah, we do.
Speaker 20 (15:29):
We've got a few card games that have been going
the last couple of years in camp.
Speaker 4 (15:33):
So a big part of origin camp is playing cards.
Speaker 6 (15:36):
Yeah, and they play like you know, the five hundreds
and all.
Speaker 9 (15:39):
That Anasta Gin Rommy.
Speaker 8 (15:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (15:42):
Yeah, honestly, I was never one of I joined in.
Speaker 9 (15:47):
You know, it's insanity to me.
Speaker 6 (15:48):
A bit of fun, but you spend a lot of
time together, like a lot, and I'm talking not only
in the hotel rooms, but on the bus. You're you know,
you're traveling, you're always busting here, there, everywhere. On the
bus they play because the bus set up like it's
got a table in it.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
So not the card games we played in Hide and Seek,
which involved a lot of our goal Yeah.
Speaker 8 (16:08):
Or maybe they oh no, no, no, not those ones.
Speaker 9 (16:12):
I don't even knowing.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
Is there like is there a bit of money involved?
Speaker 12 (16:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (16:16):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, so they're betting on the game. That's
why they passionate.
Speaker 8 (16:22):
There's money involved.
Speaker 6 (16:23):
Yeah, and that was the only way to make it, like, yeah,
full on really competitive.
Speaker 9 (16:28):
Who was the number one card player when you play?
Speaker 6 (16:32):
Oh jeez hard now, I think oh Darius was always
great at it. Yeah, boy, oh wool Chambers used to
get very competitive, but he's you know, but everyone.
Speaker 7 (16:47):
They luck games or like can you can you do?
You need to be skillful to play.
Speaker 8 (16:51):
They're strategic. You could be very strategic with it.
Speaker 6 (16:54):
And but now like, yeah, all the boys, it's massive
now Like when I was sort of there, you know,
you get maybe five or six really interested.
Speaker 8 (17:04):
But now it's who.
Speaker 9 (17:05):
Is the worst worst, lost the most money.
Speaker 6 (17:10):
I would have been one of the worst. That's what
I didn't play. But I just didn't care. I don't
know every time I played, because you're playing partners. You
can play and partners and if we had to play
and pick people who just hate if they got.
Speaker 9 (17:25):
Because then you become a pis.
Speaker 4 (17:29):
Oh yeah, you wouldn't focus.
Speaker 8 (17:31):
Benny Hunt.
Speaker 6 (17:32):
Ben Hunt is probably one of the biggest loves it
like card game than yeah daily now it's come back
to me now daily chair Evans big yeah, huge on it.
Speaker 8 (17:44):
But yeah, it's it's time.
Speaker 4 (17:47):
Would you all go to someone's room play.
Speaker 8 (17:49):
In the team room. They played in the team.
Speaker 9 (17:51):
Room was and did and the coaches and stuff.
Speaker 6 (17:54):
Coach get involved, yep, ye play cards used to but
then he goes yes, don't play right stupid way back
in the fog is back then? Yeah, no, And yeah
it's team room honestly, like that meet up after training.
Speaker 8 (18:11):
But we'll go, we'll do a recovery feed and then
we'll go. We'll come back.
Speaker 2 (18:16):
Yeah, like my grandmother taught me how to play Canasta
and gin romy and those kind of card games.
Speaker 8 (18:25):
Is the big one.
Speaker 6 (18:26):
It's a quick it's pretty quick effect. And he used
to play best of five or something.
Speaker 4 (18:30):
It's one of those family things.
Speaker 7 (18:31):
I remember I dated that American girl when I lived
over in the States and her family were right in
the cards, and that would be a thing like you'd
have dinner and everyone sit around play cards.
Speaker 4 (18:40):
It was very social, wholesome. Yeah, very hard.
Speaker 7 (18:43):
It's a lot more social and sort of watching TV
or bring out the cards.
Speaker 6 (18:48):
One thing we hate it was Dars when he's want
to play poker like I'm talking like Texas, hold on
because he plays it.
Speaker 8 (18:53):
He plays it like.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
Proper, he needs the chips to bring out.
Speaker 8 (18:57):
He plays it proper casinos. He can sit there for hours.
Felt failed. Yeah, hurry up, ma, come on twenty.
Speaker 9 (19:08):
Well, who knew?
Speaker 8 (19:09):
I am impressed it It's all about brag and rights.
Speaker 6 (19:12):
And that's mainly like if you got it over your mate,
you just they hate it.
Speaker 8 (19:18):
They hate it. Survival one ha ha, you were hating me, Yeah,
you were.
Speaker 7 (19:23):
You would never be quiet about it. Big game for
the SOCCERUS Friday mid day taking on Paraguay. And it's
interesting how how many people thought that after we lost
to the US that were out.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
But it's not done and dusted, no.
Speaker 9 (19:38):
So it goes.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
The US are on six points, Paraguay and Australia on
three points each, and Turkey's on zip yep, so Turkey's gone.
Speaker 4 (19:46):
Yeah, they've had a nightmare.
Speaker 2 (19:47):
We have to win or draw with Paraguay because the
goal difference between the US and Paraguay game and the
Australia and Paraguay games. So Paraguay lost to the US
by five, we lost to the US by two, right,
so we're good. So if we as long as we
draw or win, we then go to number two on
(20:08):
the ladder and the first two go through. If we
stay at number three, because they've added so many more points,
so many more teams this World Cup, only some of
the thirds.
Speaker 4 (20:20):
Will go through.
Speaker 7 (20:20):
It eight of the best case be a chance, but
really if we want to lock it in, we need
to draw win.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
That'd be great.
Speaker 7 (20:30):
Now, I got up at about half time, I think
on on Saturday morning, so I missed the first half
against the US, but my phone was blowing up. My
brother was complaining about the ref complaining about why we
didn't play it.
Speaker 4 (20:41):
Nestary and Metcalf earlier. He and I never talk about
so and all of a sudden, we're all into it.
Speaker 9 (20:48):
And isn't this the glory of the world.
Speaker 6 (20:51):
It's great, you're yeah, you know it like the rest
of our country at the moment. Yeah, we're We're all
what I've never seen more bandwagons in my life. Okay,
My issue with this is I wish I heard two
weeks ago that we were, you know, soccers in the
World Cup, the biggest sporting competition.
Speaker 4 (21:14):
In the world ever.
Speaker 8 (21:15):
Yeah, like you see eight billion views.
Speaker 6 (21:18):
Is gets eight billion views, more than the Origin gets
four million, five million a week.
Speaker 8 (21:23):
It's it's the next chatting, it's the next story for
the next week. How great was that?
Speaker 7 (21:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (21:28):
No, soccer has never heard a thing. And then we win.
We're always winning.
Speaker 6 (21:33):
Aund players, Oh, this kid and that kid, and yeah,
all these people we have.
Speaker 8 (21:37):
Two players from Brisbane.
Speaker 6 (21:39):
I found out we got yeah yeah, now, but after
they won, not before they started.
Speaker 7 (21:44):
Let me ask you something, Coreer, what what were you
doing Saturday morning?
Speaker 4 (21:48):
I was out watching Yeah, and you've never done it before.
You lie, but you're a bandwagon.
Speaker 8 (21:53):
But that's my that's my point.
Speaker 6 (21:54):
I can't control what what what people put out there because.
Speaker 8 (21:58):
I got no idea. Why is there no? Is it
not more spoken about, more publicity, more.
Speaker 2 (22:04):
Public No, no, no, Because if you were googling and
wanting to know more about the soccer rus, you would know,
for example, that Aidan O'Neil had an injury coming into
the World Cup that people were concerned about.
Speaker 8 (22:21):
You know that you were talking about it than because you.
Speaker 9 (22:24):
Got no one else was interested. And that's the point.
The World Cup brings people together and then you get interested.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
It's like Taylor Swift being a part of the NFL
with Travis Kels. I wouldn't have cared at all, but
Taylor Swift dated the guy.
Speaker 8 (22:40):
And you didn't know after she did it. But she
did it, that was all you could talk about.
Speaker 2 (22:46):
I'd never heard of the Chiefs before she got in exactly.
So it's not bandwagoning. It's just being made more aware
so that you can have more interest, so that you
can then support and get more You know, if.
Speaker 6 (22:58):
The soccer is lost and then in a game you
were near boo, you would near crap about your sons.
Speaker 9 (23:05):
I live and breathe, but all the time.
Speaker 8 (23:07):
We should support teams like the soccer.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
US, support people like the soccer US, but there's there's
nothing spoken about it.
Speaker 6 (23:17):
I would support it, but I don't hear enough to
actually be able to follow them.
Speaker 8 (23:20):
I don't.
Speaker 6 (23:20):
You don't see enough on our on our mainstream platforms.
Speaker 2 (23:23):
Really, this is me honest, but you are our mainstream
platform entertainment, sports form.
Speaker 8 (23:30):
If you sport entertainment.
Speaker 9 (23:32):
If you started to bring that to the show, we
would talk.
Speaker 8 (23:35):
More about we're sport, We're not sport entertainment.
Speaker 6 (23:39):
I'm not allowed to talk about too much rugby league
because I don't get in trouble.
Speaker 4 (23:41):
What what are you talking about?
Speaker 7 (23:42):
When we get to this Origin competition, we're talking about
everything half our.
Speaker 6 (23:46):
What I'm saying is if they lost, you wouldn't hear crap.
You're near boot he's lost.
Speaker 9 (23:49):
The argument changing.
Speaker 6 (23:52):
You can't answer that you wouldn't hear ship if we lost,
If we lost every game, I hear, soccers wouldn't.
Speaker 4 (23:58):
Exist, Corey.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
If the way your phone works, if you were more
interested in the soccer rooms, you would see more about it.
Speaker 4 (24:05):
The algorithm algorithms.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
The algorithms will make you more aware if you have
an interest. You don't have an interest, you are bandwagging.
Speaker 7 (24:16):
Show Robin your your Instagram. Let's see what your algorithms
are showing.
Speaker 9 (24:20):
Just terrifying.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
Don't do that, ready to see that guards and gold.
Speaker 9 (24:28):
Please don't make me do that. I haven't done that
much wrong.
Speaker 4 (24:35):
You win the argument. Don't show.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
Robin and Coo in the morning.
Speaker 7 (24:43):
Halfway through the podcast. So before you go camping, Okay,
important things.
Speaker 8 (24:46):
Important things.
Speaker 4 (24:48):
You've got a flashlight that plenty. Okay, toilet paper.
Speaker 8 (24:52):
Funny thing is because it's all off grid.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
You're going to the every so okay, very very th
indisposable toilet paper?
Speaker 4 (25:01):
Well, my thing is what you know I'm not going
to go?
Speaker 9 (25:05):
Yeah, bush pools are the thing.
Speaker 8 (25:07):
Oh no, you can't.
Speaker 4 (25:09):
Yeah, there'll be other people around. You can't do that.
What about thongs for showering?
Speaker 9 (25:14):
There isn't there there's no showering. They're in the caravan.
Speaker 6 (25:19):
That's not so bad because you only got leaders of
water for six days.
Speaker 2 (25:23):
Okay, So within the kitchen, think about the things that
you would you would normally just know where they are,
So bottle openers, matches, tongs, tongs sharp nine.
Speaker 7 (25:33):
Amount of times I've somehow gone camping and forgotten tongs, and.
Speaker 6 (25:37):
I gotta I got a light of spash.
Speaker 9 (25:41):
You've obviously checked, like your gas.
Speaker 8 (25:43):
Bottles and therefore.
Speaker 9 (25:47):
Medical supplies, bandages.
Speaker 8 (25:49):
There was the first day somewhere in the caravan. Don't
know where it is.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
Yet, okay, And even if it's in the middle of winter,
things like mossie spray or none itch like if someone.
Speaker 8 (25:59):
Gets bit by you know what.
Speaker 6 (26:00):
I bought this thing from an conda or one of them,
and it's a mosquito.
Speaker 8 (26:05):
It's it's a little like a little thing.
Speaker 6 (26:08):
This repells for about thirty meters thirty square meters, okay.
Speaker 8 (26:13):
But I've got to find the liquid for it.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
Do any of your children have sometime medical stuff? Like
are they occasionally asthmatics?
Speaker 9 (26:21):
It's so packed.
Speaker 6 (26:22):
Fruit cough, so we had to get steroids and we're
wonder you know what, I didn't do any.
Speaker 4 (26:27):
Of this, this is business.
Speaker 6 (26:30):
Mike who organized everything for the caravan in his car
and then tea and got the rest.
Speaker 8 (26:35):
I just had to organize myself, okay, and I still
I still don't think I've packed.
Speaker 9 (26:39):
Yeah, warm swimmers, towels.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
You can never have enough. And I hate saying this
because you'll have to hide them. So don't let the
children know you have.
Speaker 9 (26:50):
No towels because they then use a.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
New one every time that you do need, like if
it gets wet, for example, wet weather, what is your
wet weather alternative?
Speaker 9 (26:59):
Have you got gum boots?
Speaker 8 (27:00):
So you got yeah?
Speaker 6 (27:02):
I was thinking now when I realized it was going
to maybe rain. You know, he's got an outdoor awning
and the floor. I'm bringing a tart to put under
the floor. Absolutely, So then it's just that you wrapper up.
Speaker 9 (27:12):
Yeah, you garbage bags, millions of garbage.
Speaker 4 (27:17):
Check that marshmallows can fire marshmallows.
Speaker 8 (27:21):
I've packed the eski and then maybe mine clothes.
Speaker 9 (27:24):
May charge to that. But it's the things.
Speaker 2 (27:27):
If something goes wrong, do you have the like if
it's raining, do you have enough garbage bags to put
the wet clothes in? It's that stuff you got to
think about that you wouldn't normally go oh okay, so
a little.
Speaker 9 (27:39):
Bit and that's just off the top of my head
to fill up.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
Yeah, well there's a petrol although when I went out
west for Easter, the fuel was much cheaper.
Speaker 8 (27:52):
It's way cheaper.
Speaker 9 (27:53):
It was cheaper in row.
Speaker 8 (27:56):
You're probably cheap your actual what the fuel should costure.
Speaker 4 (27:59):
Well, I guess they're not playing for the rent on
their their land, you know the one that's down here
in the Gabba. It's costing them a few bucks.
Speaker 6 (28:06):
They're probably just paying cart and a piece out there's
country currency.
Speaker 4 (28:13):
That's three and a half gardens.
Speaker 9 (28:15):
That Robin Kidds and choreo all right.
Speaker 7 (28:19):
Time to cross state side to cover all things. Soccer's
big game coming up on Friday morning, and we are
lucky enough to have one of the dads, one of
the soccer room dads on the phone where there's got
a Greg.
Speaker 4 (28:35):
Good.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
It was so disappointing. What do you think happened against
that game against the US? To be fair, it would
have been deafening with all those Americans in there.
Speaker 21 (28:45):
Far too many of them in there. There was look again,
like I said to you about the previous game, the
atmosphere coming into the grounds was insane. The we got
to on the march again and that was brilliant, so
much so that we had and gold everywhere. We had
all these Americans hanging out of their balcony windows and
(29:06):
video in us going past as we were calling them
bankers and all that sort of stuff.
Speaker 5 (29:11):
Who are you?
Speaker 21 (29:13):
But look what happened. Look that we're playing against the
country of three hundred and thirty million. If they can't
come up with a good team, I'd be concerned. But
our guys gave it there all. It was extremely hot,
funnily enough, but right in the middle of the day, midday,
it was very very hot. Look, they came out and
(29:34):
they really put it to us in the first half.
But second half we came out with a couple of changes.
Connor and Necestory came on and my god, did they
give it to them.
Speaker 6 (29:44):
You can tell them that they've got people like me
up who I absolutely bugger all about soccer League. He
got me up at five in the mining to watch.
So that's what that's what they're doing back here. I
think it's it's actually really cool. It's it's it's great.
Speaker 8 (30:01):
To see you know how many people are behind him.
It was way more.
Speaker 21 (30:05):
Yeah, as family members of the soccer's we'd love them
to get more publicity all the time. You know, it's
it's the biggest game in the world. Sorry, guys, it
just I said, especially AFL, which we only play in
the one country.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 21 (30:24):
My dad, eighty three year old, almost eighty four. I
have never seen him get so fired up. He's only
ever sworn once in his life.
Speaker 4 (30:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (30:32):
Right.
Speaker 21 (30:32):
And he was standing up beside me, and he was
calling the referee all sorts of stuff when everybody was
calling the referees. What that wrongs with a banker? He
was there singing.
Speaker 6 (30:43):
That was that?
Speaker 4 (30:45):
After the handball?
Speaker 7 (30:46):
Was that? After the US handball what looked like an
obvious handball in their goal square?
Speaker 21 (30:51):
Well, there was a handball. There was a step on ankle,
which on another day could have breaken an ankle. Yeah, yeah,
you can blame the referees decisions. But they scored two goals.
We didn't score anything but handball. Bring on next week.
Speaker 8 (31:10):
You couldn't miss that.
Speaker 4 (31:11):
You were standing right there.
Speaker 7 (31:13):
Yeah, So what are we expecting Friday? Midday Friday? Our
time is Austra v Paraguay. So as far as you know,
is that What do we need to do to make
sure we get to the next round is draw the minimum?
Speaker 21 (31:25):
Draws the minimum? Okay, absolutely, So it works on face
to face basically, so head to head as you call it.
So if we have a draw with them, we're already
on the same points as them, because it would give them,
from face to face to the best goal difference. We
have a better goal difference than Paraguay.
Speaker 7 (31:42):
Okay, okay, we need to draw. And what are you
expecting to happen? Like, have we got their measure of Paraguay?
The bookies have Paraguay as favorites.
Speaker 21 (31:51):
Oh, I can have Paraguay's favorites. But they're ranked worse
than us in the world. Right, interesting, they're going to
miss the alm we're on. Who got sent off to
that wreck by covering his mouth? Silly thing to do?
Speaker 9 (32:03):
Yeah, yeah, there's new rules, aren't there, Greg.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
They're really cracking down on it at this World's Cup
because the idea is if you cover your mouth, you
may be like doing racial slurs.
Speaker 9 (32:14):
So is that right?
Speaker 21 (32:16):
Happened recently?
Speaker 12 (32:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 21 (32:17):
Absolutely? Yeah, So it happened in the I think it
was the Champions League, So to avoid they.
Speaker 9 (32:23):
Cover their mouth and that's a red car.
Speaker 21 (32:26):
If you have to say something to some two of
the opposition by covering your mouth, probably shouldn't be saying it.
Speaker 4 (32:32):
Interesting.
Speaker 6 (32:33):
Okay, so right going off, look on, I'm going off
a soccer brain. I'm asking you right now, how are
we looking? What are our chances and how much we're
going to win?
Speaker 21 (32:42):
By I reckon two one?
Speaker 4 (32:45):
Probably there we go.
Speaker 7 (32:47):
That's in San Francisco on Friday. I enjoy enjoy the Bay,
enjoying San Francisco and cheering all.
Speaker 21 (32:55):
The clam chowder into me.
Speaker 14 (32:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:57):
Yeah, And honestly, Greg, Australia is just so excited about
this World Cup and Brisbane particularly with aid and playing.
So let them know if you can, that everyone is
so behind them.
Speaker 4 (33:15):
Okay, Robin, Kip and Coury. Now, Cory, you've.
Speaker 7 (33:19):
Got straight after the show today. You are heading out
on something you've never done.
Speaker 4 (33:24):
Before as a family.
Speaker 8 (33:25):
No camping.
Speaker 4 (33:26):
I'm surprised by that.
Speaker 9 (33:27):
I know camping is the best thing ever.
Speaker 2 (33:29):
My kids still reflect upon that, and you know, our
lives didn't turn out the way anyone expected, but their
camping memories are probably their best memories with their dad
and as a family.
Speaker 8 (33:40):
Are the best.
Speaker 6 (33:40):
Yeah, that's what I remember as a kid, probably more
so how hard it was three people in the tiny
tent and then mom and dad and this big beautiful thing.
Speaker 7 (33:49):
But anyway, so they had a nice family tent they
put you three.
Speaker 6 (33:53):
Yeah, so they had their bed and like where we
ate and everything under another inside area that's not for
the kids, seeding and dinner.
Speaker 8 (34:01):
We have this little two man tent for three kids.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
Well you keep warmer that way, definitely.
Speaker 4 (34:08):
And the parents and then the parents get to go
back into their little intimate.
Speaker 8 (34:11):
That's not all about that.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
Okay, it is still only campus. I'm just saying they
weren't that true.
Speaker 6 (34:18):
This is not that camping though. We're in a caravan,
a very nice one. Nice thanks for a good friend
of mine. But yeah, Robin asked me to get some
audio of the kids and what they're going to pack,
because they're going to be a lot different than each other.
Speaker 9 (34:32):
I can well imagine.
Speaker 1 (34:33):
So let's start with the four year Okay, iron.
Speaker 8 (34:44):
Man, where else are you going to pack.
Speaker 12 (34:47):
Bay Man.
Speaker 8 (34:51):
Camping? Okay, no clothes, clothes? What else you're going to pack?
Speaker 12 (34:57):
Close?
Speaker 8 (35:01):
Of course?
Speaker 20 (35:02):
What else?
Speaker 13 (35:03):
That's what.
Speaker 8 (35:08):
Freddy Dolphin it's a dolphin.
Speaker 4 (35:12):
It's so fun to be dol named Freddy. Yeah, Action Heroes,
it was a dolphin named Freddy.
Speaker 2 (35:18):
He was clearly just looking at whatever is directly in
front of him and saying, that's what I'm taking.
Speaker 8 (35:23):
Yeah, look that's.
Speaker 4 (35:25):
What he will take.
Speaker 8 (35:26):
Really, that's his part. He would run around naked. That
kid with his boots on.
Speaker 4 (35:32):
Oh my goodness, has.
Speaker 7 (35:34):
Got Spider Man and the whole in the whole course.
Speaker 6 (35:38):
He can't be happy you're gonna do that many bushwhees
this kid?
Speaker 9 (35:42):
What about Monty?
Speaker 8 (35:43):
Well, Monday's a bit more.
Speaker 6 (35:44):
She's a bit more serious and and actually knows what
she needs to pack because it's going to be freezing,
so look many Yeah.
Speaker 8 (35:52):
She gives her perfect I reckon example of what the
pack for a child her.
Speaker 20 (35:57):
Age peak clip it.
Speaker 12 (36:01):
We're going to pack.
Speaker 6 (36:02):
Lots of socks a week on pack lots of.
Speaker 8 (36:09):
Week stuff, so what normal kids would pack on her.
Speaker 7 (36:13):
She's just drawing so much, takes after her mom and
none of you.
Speaker 2 (36:18):
Yeah, sorry, what is wrong with that list? She's got
her sparkly boots.
Speaker 4 (36:21):
That's perfect.
Speaker 9 (36:22):
I mean that's what you need.
Speaker 4 (36:23):
Lots of socks because you get wet.
Speaker 2 (36:25):
They might get wet. She's got lots of drawing stuff,
so she's going to.
Speaker 8 (36:28):
Because she feeded a lot like me.
Speaker 4 (36:31):
Ah, okay, that's the one.
Speaker 9 (36:33):
She gave me some taking care of her entire existence.
Speaker 4 (36:37):
What are you what are you packing? What do you
got in?
Speaker 8 (36:40):
Oh, stubby pants? Singlets?
Speaker 6 (36:41):
Maybe if you jumpers, just some just some work boots.
Speaker 9 (36:46):
Because they don't give her rat What about the rain.
Speaker 8 (36:48):
Bunny beer.
Speaker 20 (36:51):
Rain?
Speaker 7 (36:51):
I won't feel it, okay, because of the beer, the
things saying when you say silky, he's like yous shorts,
just footy shorts.
Speaker 4 (37:02):
And then during the day when the sun's out of
what about at night you've got trackies or something?
Speaker 8 (37:06):
Yeah, play some tracks?
Speaker 4 (37:07):
Okay, underpants?
Speaker 8 (37:08):
Yeah, maybe that was an optional. That's an option.
Speaker 9 (37:11):
You are going with other people, right, I don't care. Okay,
when you're.
Speaker 22 (37:16):
Out walking around carlor anyway, you shoving iron Man in there,
Robin Ki and in the morning, regrettable tattoos.
Speaker 4 (37:30):
Who's the guy from where the miller's I.
Speaker 8 (37:32):
Don't remember his name, but he's a boyfriend of the daughter.
Speaker 4 (37:35):
Yeah, and he comes out and he's got no regrets
spelled ra g and then the talk to him about it.
That's my creedle don't regrets.
Speaker 6 (37:44):
And it's funny because I don't remember the actors. What's
his actual name, Sadekas, Yeah, and he goes not even
one letter.
Speaker 9 (37:53):
Paris Brown's planes. What's the tattoo you regret?
Speaker 18 (37:58):
It's actually mine? And I think my ex husband would
regret it every day because he got my name tattooed
on his stomach and each letter is about twenty centimeters
long as his big fat gut.
Speaker 11 (38:12):
And then then he.
Speaker 13 (38:14):
Tried to cover it with a really early Viking thing
and it doesn't matter how many times you look at it,
you can still see my letters embedded in his stomach.
Speaker 9 (38:26):
Oh my goodness, you're enjoying this every single time.
Speaker 13 (38:30):
I just laugh and think you are a dick.
Speaker 7 (38:35):
I mean, he could have you don't think he could
have tried to pivot because it's Paris. He could have
put the Eiffel Tower and just pretended to be a
big fan.
Speaker 18 (38:42):
Look, And I as soon as I saw it, I thought,
I think you did a guilty tattoo. And it was
only a matter of time because you know, you just
don't do that. Even I don't do that. My kid's
the one thing.
Speaker 11 (38:55):
But yeah, but every time you see it. I've been
seeing him for thirteen years from a distance, and it's
just like, yeah, mate, I am still embedded his partner
when he sits on her sees me every day.
Speaker 4 (39:17):
That would be, that would have to be all. That
would have to be a turn off.
Speaker 9 (39:21):
That's not cue you?
Speaker 4 (39:22):
Sorry that your ex.
Speaker 9 (39:26):
Ashley Brodie, what's to you regret?
Speaker 8 (39:31):
So?
Speaker 23 (39:32):
I was married at one point and my sister in
law had a daughter and I got her name and
her birth date on my arm. And we've been divorced
for a long time now, but it's still on my arm.
And now my kid's asking questions, mom, who's that?
Speaker 8 (39:46):
From a different way, It's just that's a big call.
Speaker 5 (39:49):
It is.
Speaker 4 (39:50):
So you guys were just besties for a little moment
in time.
Speaker 3 (39:53):
Sorry?
Speaker 7 (39:54):
Were you guys just besties for a moment in time
with you with the ex sister in law?
Speaker 13 (40:00):
No?
Speaker 23 (40:00):
I just thought, you know, we'll be together forever years
later and we were done.
Speaker 9 (40:09):
You don't want to get it removed or changed?
Speaker 23 (40:12):
I do, but I just I just can't afford it.
Speaker 7 (40:15):
Yeah, it's more expensive than the tattoo itself.
Speaker 23 (40:19):
Is It wasn't It wasn't an expense.
Speaker 4 (40:22):
No, they need to flip it around.
Speaker 7 (40:28):
They need to make tattoos more expensive so people think
about its ash.
Speaker 2 (40:33):
And Terry at a vicky point, what's the tattoo? You
regret back to it?
Speaker 8 (40:40):
What do you go?
Speaker 12 (40:40):
I've got a W when we left and drink and
go to right.
Speaker 7 (40:44):
You do know, Terry, did you spell wow?
Speaker 4 (40:51):
You spell wow with your hole wow?
Speaker 13 (40:56):
Terry?
Speaker 9 (40:57):
You do not?
Speaker 2 (40:59):
I do what draken debaucherous night resulted in that tattoo While.
Speaker 5 (41:07):
I was young.
Speaker 21 (41:08):
