Speaker 1 (00:06):
Robin Chip and Choreotes podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
That's Robin Kippen Corio. It's on demand the podcast. Corey's
not on the podcast today. We'll hear bits of him
on the show, but he was driving throughout our show
heading to the camping location. Or are they already there?
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
I'm not sure that they're going out past Roma, but
hopefully we'll be able to chat to him tomorrow. Do
you follow Billy Slater on install?
Speaker 2 (00:35):
I don't think I do. No, I don't think I do.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
His wife, Nicole is one of the most extraordinary artists
of horses. She just is an amazing, amazing artist. But
she's created an Instagram account that has now got over
seventy million people going nuts for it, including Paris Hilton.
(00:58):
I will tell you why. At times it's Robin Kibb
and Cory's yay or nay?
Speaker 2 (01:06):
So, oh yeah, that's right. You're in the disco with
the trapping crazy for U. So thirteen one sixty five
run the rule over this, yay or nay?
Speaker 1 (01:15):
I say so. I'm at work obviously in the radio station.
We've come off air, and you know, we usually have
like a five or ten minute break between when we
finish and then when we come back in here and
do some records and plan the shows and all that
sort of stuff. So we go and get cups of
tea or coffee or whatever. And I went to the toilet,
and as I'm walking in, someone is having a full
(01:36):
blown conversation on the loop.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Oh, right on the phone, on the.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
Phone on the toilet. So obviously the booth is full,
and I just went in and went out and quickly,
and they would take in their sweet time. So I
don't know whether they had stayed in the booth to
finish the phone conversation or whether they were doing a
number two and there took the advantage to be on
(02:02):
the phone.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
Did you catch any of the chat?
Speaker 1 (02:04):
A little bit? It was personal personal, So I'm then going,
I'm now evesdropping into someone's personal conversation while they're on
the toilet at work on the phone. That made me embarrassed.
And then I'm thinking, Okay, I'm gonna get out of
here real quick. I'm going to wash my hands super quickly.
And then I was like shaking them and trying to
(02:24):
dry them so that they didn't see that I was
in there. Oh, you can't miss me when I moved
around like it was me. But I didn't want to
have a lottle. I just found it so awkward and
so embarrassing.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
Thirty one sixty five. So phone conversations on the toilet
and also like at work.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
Or just on the like what if you are doing
a number two? Do you mute?
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Like no, I just the whole.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Thing makes me uncomfortable, and I don't know why.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
No, if you're sitting down, No, it's an absolute no, right,
I mean I guess maybe.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
When you can I jump in in the newsroom, nay,
by nay, can you not unplug for one minute?
Speaker 3 (03:06):
Like, hey, I'll call you back, like can we.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
Not have peace?
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Yes, it's a courtesy.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
And also yeah, you mute it for your splash next
to you. Yeah, it's a moment for everyone to just
be like, hey, this is not a place for other
people to hear what's going on in the cubicle next
door you.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Are, Yes, other people, but I do know that Claire,
I producer Claire like she has already said, what did
you tell me? Claire?
Speaker 3 (03:31):
Guys, yeah, are starting to feel like a thing against me.
I have spoken on the phone to pretty much all
of you while I've been on the toilet.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
Oh my god, wait was it Claire? Was he you?
Robin her?
Speaker 3 (03:45):
There's other people in the office that doing apparently.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Oh that's interesting. Now every time I speak to you
on the phone, I'm going to wonder where.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
Are you silent? You know?
Speaker 5 (03:53):
Why?
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (03:54):
So do you mute us? Like do you mute yourself?
Speaker 2 (03:56):
Of course?
Speaker 1 (03:57):
And then what you unmute to talk?
Speaker 2 (03:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (03:59):
If I'm just saying, oh yeah, why.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
Because I'm between Are you just trying to multitask on the.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
I am the multitasking queen.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Wow, Okay, you can't be.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
That busy yay r nay, Like I mean, I think
it's you are going to come down clearly on one
side of the other. You can be anonymous if that
makes it easier for you. But thirteen one oh six nights.
Speaker 6 (04:20):
It's Robin Gibbon.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Corey's yay or nay.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
That's yay or nay. So you heard this yesterday at work, Robin, Yes.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Someone having a full blown conversation on the toilet.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
It was personal, we should say, if you've been talking
to a sales rep. It was not a business call.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
No no, no, no no. But from the moment that
I walked through the door, you know, did my quick business,
wash my hands and left. The conversation just got was
getting more and more intense, so and there was no movement, like,
no one, I just.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
No, I'm sunn by that. I feel like you've got
to I mean, that's why parents like to scroll in
the toilet. It's the one place where you get left alone.
It's not a place for a conversation. It's it's no.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
Four nine seven three. Please put your name on our
text because we love to read them out. I had
someone in the still next to me at the airport.
This has come from someone once and their phone was
on speaker. Oh come on, these people belong in jail.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Is the comment that is? Kick them off, don't even
let them on a flight? Too much?
Speaker 1 (05:25):
Tiana and befing Gary, Yeah, your name, phone's on the toilet,
video call you?
Speaker 2 (05:35):
What come on?
Speaker 3 (05:37):
Video?
Speaker 2 (05:39):
Who in your suclel will take a video call from
you on the toilet?
Speaker 1 (05:43):
My best friends do they do it too? Like is
this a oh yeah, we.
Speaker 5 (05:50):
Each other? But why why not?
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Why not?
Speaker 1 (05:55):
You are so you are you are just the bravest
human ever. Okay, sure I respect you?
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Do you I do.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
I expect the fact she's got the curry. Yeah, Darryl
and Tingaupa, what do you reckon?
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Yea your ny definitely definitely, no, no chance. It's absurd.
Have you ever tried Have you ever been on the
phone on the toilet? For example, Daryl and you get
a phone call, do you answer or is it an absolute?
Send it straight to voice mark.
Speaker 7 (06:21):
I don't even answer.
Speaker 8 (06:22):
I'll just leave it.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
Yeah, just let it ring out.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
You can get back to them.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
You're doing something.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
Brief chirm side Yeah, your a phones on the toilet?
Speaker 9 (06:31):
Absolute? Yay?
Speaker 2 (06:32):
What pray?
Speaker 8 (06:34):
Why uninterrupted? Uninterrupted time you're not doing anything else. It's
my number one time to talk to my sister. She
does the.
Speaker 5 (06:48):
Same to me.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
Okay, well that's family. It feels horrified by.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
It, but that's there is almost a there is almost
a rule that it's okay for family because they've been
you know, they've seen it. You know you showered together
when you're a kid. It's just like it's the yeah, no,
I'll accept that. I'll accept the sister call, but.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
Anyone else spree.
Speaker 8 (07:08):
Like it work, colleagues, I won't say no to a minimum.
As far as that goes.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
But again I respect, I respect.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Yeah, you're brave.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
The bravery that goes into this sure and the ability
to counteract that.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
I'm stunned. I'm stunned by the amount of by the
amount of yeas, I know, we're.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Kind of even. Yeah, it's terrifying.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
Yeah. Like, if I'm really busy and I'm standing, you know,
so I'm doing a man the man doing a man thing,
I will I will answer. Then if it's like, if
there's a lot going on, I'll go, hey.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
You know, but how do you juggle all that there's.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
A lot going on, there's a lot of moving parts,
and you have to try and pee on the side
of the ball so it doesn't splash.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Oh my goodness, let's go because let's have a definitive
final call because we're at two AEGs. Kathleen of North Lakes. Yeah,
your name n.
Speaker 9 (08:02):
N.
Speaker 7 (08:05):
I don't even like taking my phone to the toilet.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Yeah, the room. This is us, Kathleen.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
I'm with you.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
Yeah, Well, we've got fifty bucks to spend at sales
authentic New York pizza for you for the last boat.
Well done, Kathleen, Thank you, Robin.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
In the morning, we are launching our Robin, Kip and
Corey's super Power Squad. And the idea for this came
from a couple of special guests we had in a
few months ago. So a text came through from Michelle
and she said, I have a beautiful, kind, eleven year
old son. He's been relentlessly bullied. She sat down with
(08:43):
her son, Connor and had a chat after just a
normal school day for him.
Speaker 6 (08:48):
I want to be scared. What are your most scared of?
Speaker 2 (08:53):
Choking?
Speaker 1 (08:53):
What have invited Michelle and her son Connor into the
studio with us?
Speaker 2 (09:00):
Why are they doing it?
Speaker 10 (09:01):
They just beat me up because they just want.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
To Are you smaller than the rest of them? Yeah,
it sounds like it's just that cowardice a kid that's
smaller than you. It's just the weakest thing you can
do is find someone smaller than you and pick on
them because you've got an advantage.
Speaker 6 (09:17):
I'm mad.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
I'm mad for you, mate. So a couple of months later,
after us trying, we spoke to politicians, we spoke to schools,
trying to trying to make a difference. But in the end,
Michelle made the decision to swap schools for Connor and
he came in with a spring in his step. How
are you good? Yes, girl, yeah you look mate, you look.
(09:38):
You have come in with a real spring in your
step and a very good haircut that little tracks too.
So the new school is good, mate, very well. You're
happy to have that you've moved.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
Yeah, yeah, And that sparked a whole new conversation for us,
because we're thinking, if kids can find their own tribe,
places where you know, other children understand exactly what they've
been through, then we can do something about that. So
we've put together Robin, Kip and Corey's super Power Squad.
We are hosting a night at Area fifty one in
(10:13):
Ipswich on Monday, the twentieth of July where all these
amazing superpower kids can come together, and the first invitation
has got to be to the guy that started it
and his mum, Michelle and Connor.
Speaker 9 (10:25):
Hello, good morning.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
Good morning you two?
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Do you think? Do you guys want to come?
Speaker 9 (10:34):
What do you reckon?
Speaker 10 (10:35):
Mate? Yeah?
Speaker 7 (10:36):
Yeah yeah, begins green On here say have you ever have.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
You ever been to the snow before? Connor? No, Well,
this has like one hundred square meters of real snow inside.
We can you know we're gonna have snowball fight, you
make snowmen whatever you want.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
Yeah, well that is so good because we figured that
there are going to be lots of other kids who've
been through the same thing that you have, Connor, and
you are the shining light to show that it can
get better. So if you're there, it'll be great.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Thank you, you're welcome only mate. I'll wait to see
you there. And thank you for starting all this, Michelle
and getting in contact with us.
Speaker 6 (11:17):
Oh, thank you guys for giving him a voice.
Speaker 7 (11:19):
It's been amazing.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
All right. Well, I mean, Connor's the type of kid
you're going to have at this party. So if that
sounds like someone you would like for your kid to
be friends with and have a huge night, and maybe
you're going through similar situation, then you can register right
now to join US Area fifty one world making memories
that last lifetime. You can register right now at Kiss
ninety seven to three dot com dot au.
Speaker 6 (11:43):
Robin Kidd and cooreos in the morning.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
It's got a significant birthday coming up on July fourth,
where we're on holidays and you're going to be away.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
Yes, my whole radio career, I've never had a birthday,
because we're always out of ratings for that week, right,
So but.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
This one is a big one, and and I've known
about it for a long time, and so my intentions
are really good. Okay, So let me give you the
history behind this. When we're in Hide and Seek, you
spoke to Corey and I and you asked, Corry, was
there ever a chance in your whole life where you
could have made it as a professional leg person?
Speaker 5 (12:15):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (12:16):
And he broke your little heart and he said, absolutely.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
Not, under no circumstances.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
Under no circumstances. So then both of us tried to
make it a little bit better for you by saying,
but you're really good at basketball, and you love basketball.
So then I saw this online and I thought, well,
let's celebrate what Kip was really good at. Okay, So
this is a bit of a ridiculous present, and I
think Naomi's gonna hate it.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
It's quite It's bigger than I expected, filled up the
whole bag, the whole shopping bag.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
I can't and if you hate it, it's okay, and
it may not even fit in but it is utterly ridiculous, colorful. Okay.
This is why Naomi is probably gonna hate it. She
is the queen of fashion and muted color.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
It is.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
Ah, this is a fresh prince jacket.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
It's a fresh Prince of bel Air jacket because and
it's like a basketball kind of.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
Do you like it? I think I do like it?
Speaker 9 (13:13):
Actually, I think I do.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
I mean, it probably doesn't fit you. It's made in China,
where they say things are extra extra large and they're like, yeah,
she smiling.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
I've got a hoodie on underneath, but it's it's tight
with the hoodie. But I reckon if it was just
my jacket. Ah, yeah, yeah, this is pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
Okay, well we are recording this, mitches. He's getting it
for socials. She'll hate it.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
She's gonna let me wear it.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
No, she'll hate it. I know.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
And I can't see a world and where I'm wearing this.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
But maybe you could just put it in your pool
room or whatever the man cave.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
Definitely fancy dress as a.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
Reflection of what the one sport that you absolutely love
that you're really great at.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
Okay, thank you, thanks ro It's very thoughtful.
Speaker 5 (14:00):
You know me.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
I love the emotional thing. And in case you hated it,
I also we also organized a cake from Jocelyn Jocelyn's cake.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
Thank you. Oh wow, thank you. Look at that. I'm
expecting that today. Thank you. Well, I know the studio.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
Yeah, so Jocelyn's provisions we wanted because that's also your
favorite cake and we're not going to be here for
your birthday.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
And he's actually Miami's favorite cake. She loves Jocelyn's.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
Okay, well we'll take a little bit and I'm doing
it today because Corey is not here, yes, so that
he can't ruin it.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Yeah, thank you. I appreciate that because he would find
a way.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
He would find away making this.
Speaker 2 (14:42):
I'm sure he would have talked already about how I'm
not that good at basketball, which is actually true.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
He's off camping. We'll get Corey back on the show tomorrow,
but thank you.
Speaker 6 (14:53):
That's okay, right, Robin, Kith and Corey.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
We've got Kate and her on Jason on the phone.
Morning guys.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
Hi, here you going hello? Kate, tell us about Jason.
Speaker 9 (15:07):
He is in year six now.
Speaker 11 (15:11):
He's a very active, typical active boy, and he had
a pretty rough experience starting school from prep to about.
Speaker 9 (15:21):
Year two until we made the decision to change schools
because it was just a bit too much. He had
a fair bit of anxiety about going to school. He
was bullied in the playground, was excluded from birthday parties. Yeah,
it was pretty pretty hard to stay positive and encourage
(15:43):
him to go to school when he was experiencing that
at school.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
Yeah, hey, Jason, what was it like, mate? Do you remember?
Speaker 10 (15:51):
Well? The group of bullies. They just kept taking my
friends away. My playtime was kind of useless because I'd
not want to play with. Yeah, I couldn't really do
anything else because I didn't know anybody and I want
my one friend.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
But they.
Speaker 10 (16:13):
Took a mof me. And the teachers were like, okay,
what why not?
Speaker 2 (16:22):
So what we're doing at lunchtime and playtime? Are you
just hanging out by yourself?
Speaker 5 (16:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 10 (16:27):
I was just like sitting down and think about stuff.
I couldn't really like to run around and do anything.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
Oh, that's awful. But you've gone to a new school now, hey, yea,
and what's that like?
Speaker 9 (16:38):
Sw Yes, he loves it. He's thriving. We also found
that it wasn't just the kids, it was also some
of the parents at the other school that were.
Speaker 11 (16:49):
Just just horrible.
Speaker 9 (16:51):
And Yeah, this new school, he just loves it. He's thriving,
a go starts high school next year. He's got a
fantastic group friends, and yeah, he's doing so much better
since we moved in. So it was the best decision
we made.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
Do you want to come? Do you guys want to
come to Area fifty one to it? Yeah, you are
part of our superpower squad, Jason, and we would love
you to be there and meet some other kids and
have a great evening.
Speaker 9 (17:22):
Thank you, Thank you so much, and thanks guys for
just bringing awareness to this and like, yeah, as Michelle said,
like letting the kids have a voice, it just means
a lot, and just letting parents know that they're not
alone because it is tough. Obviously it's tough for the kids,
but it's also really tough for the parents to go
through it. Also, thanks you.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
Well, we tried to change it politically, they wouldn't listen.
So we're going to take a positive out of a
negative and have a great evening.
Speaker 9 (17:49):
Yeah, that's a great idea.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
We'll see there, guys.
Speaker 9 (17:52):
Okay, thank you. Bye.
Speaker 6 (17:54):
Robin Ki in the morning.
Speaker 2 (17:57):
Halfway through the podcast, I know Billy Slater was a
jockey before he got into rugby. League, which is why he's,
you know, one of the smaller rugby league players. And
he loves horses. He's still riding the horses.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
Now and they've got a farm I think, and a
stud farm.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
And Nicole At, his wife, is an extraordinary artist. She
in fact, one of her pictures that she paints like
huge lifestyle pictures of horses, and one of them I
think is down in Melbourne, at Flemington the Melbourne Cup
is run yea. Anyway, she has started an Instagram account
for a brand new pet that is now just gone
(18:35):
completely viral. It's a little deer called Cheryl. And this
is hard because Cheryl is jumping and bouncing and the
cutest thing ever. And this is a little bit from
her insta just so cute baby deer who literally just
(19:01):
bounces around. I'll find it check her out anyway. Seventy
million people, right, seventy million, including Paris Hilton and Ariana Grande.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
Is it like Bambi with the little doctors. It's so cute.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
Yeah, it is so cute. And yes, as I said that,
the deer's name is Cheryl.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
Yeah, but she is a great name for a deer,
by the way, who's just thing.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
So yeah, So if you want to become part of
the cool crowd, follow Nicole Slater.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
Yeah, and Cheryl what it seems like. Yeah, it's an
unusual pet choice. It's gonna oh yeah, oh wow. It's
so skittish, it moves so quick. Yeah, but it's going
to be a big deer pretty soon and then it
won't beautiful anymore.
Speaker 1 (19:44):
It's so sweet, it's cute right now and everyone's loving
just Cheryl bouncing around the property and Nicole's up on
a horse and like, Cheryl is.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
Just I guess you've got I was about to say
it's a weird pet. But if you've got big property
like that, we're breeding horses, like you've got room for
a deer. Yeah, for a pet deer.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
Yes, someone donated a deer and Caeryl has just gone
nuts for it. Robin the morning, we should say that
Corey isn't here. He's headed off on a camping trip.
We will try and speak to him tomorrow. He left
after show yesterday. It was organized when we were no
longer here and then we came back and he's committed
to his family, so that's why you're not hearing him
as much. And he would have a field day with
(20:22):
this because something has happened this morning. Have you spoken
to Naomi today? No, partner, No, you haven't had a
text conversation or anything. Okay, well, something happened this morning
with producer Claire that is kind of funny. Not funny.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
I'm so embarrassed.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
What have you done?
Speaker 3 (20:40):
So when my alarm went off this morning, I'd set
my alarm up on the other side of the bed
so that I had to physically get up and get it. Okay,
I got up realized Hunter had sat straight up as well,
my three year old.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
So you sleep you co sleep?
Speaker 3 (20:52):
We do co sleep? Yes, unfortunately, and so I was like, oh,
I've got to get back to sleep. I lay down
with him.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
What time was this?
Speaker 3 (20:59):
This was at three fifteen, right, and I lay there
for a bit. My next alarm went off at about
three forty ish, and I went, oh, I'll have to
get my husband to come in and take over so
that I can get up. Now. When I call my
husband Sam, I normally just type in the numbers sixty
nine because I save him as my sexy man in
my phone. Correlation is not there, but he's the only
(21:19):
number that comes up. O. But I recently added a
new contact to my phone, and that would be Naomi
and her first two letters are n Y, which in
my phone if I typed sixty nine now also comes up.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
Oh, so instead of my you got n Y.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
And at three forty seven I called Naomi for two minutes.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
Did you speak?
Speaker 3 (21:42):
I don't what I may have spoken, and so can
you please come and take over for me? But I
don't know if she actually answered. I don't know if
it went to voicemail. I have sent her an apology text,
which she replied.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
To it because she was up at around I think
around then, because because Sienna was up. Oh okay, I
don't think you yeah, but yeah, our bubb was up too,
So I think she was up around there.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
But she hasn't replied he.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
I haven't seen anything, so maybe she did answer.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
So would you want.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
About a chat?
Speaker 1 (22:12):
I mean, would it have gone to voicemail and that
what would she have heard? Just rustling?
Speaker 3 (22:16):
And it would have been please come and get Hunter,
Please come into the room, would you like? It would
have been like that? And then I don't know, snoring.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
Maybe accidental calls didn't.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
I didn't know until I actually woke up later, I went,
oh my god, what have I done?
Speaker 6 (22:32):
Yeah, we should.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
Get Naomi up to see her registered. But if you
I mean, I've done accidental calls all the time. When
I was working on the Gold Coast and I had
this laryngitis that took me off here for a couple
of weeks, and every day I'd have to ring our boss,
whose name was Jason Matthews, and I'd get bored with
just ringing him saying, look, I still sound terrible. So
I decided to do like a double O, you know right,
(22:57):
Except I didn't ring Jason Matthews. I ran Lee Matthews,
who was then the coach of the Britisbe Lions, called
the Lions coaching chick up I'm going, I mean, yeah,
he just went who is this? And I realized and
(23:17):
hung up super quickly and never owned it again.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
Oh so you never did, so I don't know that they.
Speaker 1 (23:21):
Don't know, and he won't remember. Now. It was years ago,
but I was just.
Speaker 2 (23:26):
More thirty one sixty five. Tell us about your accidental call.
I mean, I can't imagine getting much worse than putting
on a sexy voice the Brisbane lines. But come on,
you don't have to be. It can be.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
You don't have to beat that. And what have we got?
We've got some We've got How about this? This is
good for the school holidays? Yeah, just a ballot, Yes,
Ballet Theater, Queensland, snow White. Oh there you go, So
there you go. You can check it out between the
second and fifth of July.
Speaker 3 (23:54):
Still embarrassed.
Speaker 5 (23:57):
Five.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
Right now they were talking about accidental calls because Claire,
our producer, accidentally called my partner Naomi at three point
thirty this morning.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
We're trying to get Naomi on what's what's her Thursdays
look like?
Speaker 2 (24:10):
Is she busy? She nanny Pearl, her mom is looking
after Sienna. So should we go in the city? Cat
about now? I would think, Oh, I mean, I.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
Wonder if she's got a two and a half in
a voice mail of just classling from Claire because she
thought she was calling her husband to beg him to
come in and relieve her from co sleeping with their son.
She's got Naomi instead.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
So yeah, Claire's husband is in as my sexy man.
And Naomi's name is spelled n y, which was her
mum getting creative with the spelling. By the way, actually
Pearl is related to my accidental call because I went
to call Pearl about something I don't even know what,
and so I've just done. I was in my car,
so I've gone, you know, hay, Siri, call Pearl. And
(24:50):
what I'd forgotten is is that Steve ranoff the pearl.
The pearl is also in my phone as the pearl.
So I was waiting, like I was just and Miley
waiting for Bilda as her heir give up, and I'm like,
who's his man? And it was the pearl and how
to go?
Speaker 7 (25:09):
Sorry?
Speaker 2 (25:09):
Mate?
Speaker 1 (25:13):
Alice out of Uxley? Did you accidentally call someone? What happened?
Speaker 9 (25:19):
So?
Speaker 7 (25:21):
My husband at the time was seeing someone else and
didn't think I knew about it, and I had known
basically from the start.
Speaker 11 (25:31):
Yeah, and.
Speaker 7 (25:34):
He took her out on a date on my birthday?
Speaker 1 (25:39):
Oh wow, So what did you do?
Speaker 7 (25:43):
So I accidentally, on purpose, pretended I was calling someone
to say he's gone out, you can come over, and
then I just hung up and he rang me about
ten seconds later saying did you call me?
Speaker 5 (26:02):
No, He goes, I think you did, well? I said,
oh did I? He said, Well, what's going on? I said, oh, well,
I may as well, let you know that I've known
you've been seeing and I knew what her name was.
I know you've been seeing.
Speaker 7 (26:21):
Her for months, did you. Oh? His reactions to things
was just to go silent. But he just he didn't come.
Speaker 1 (26:32):
Home that night, and did he ever come home again?
Speaker 11 (26:37):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (26:37):
He did, but we were leaving another end of the
house from that point and he moved out.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
That is kind of clever, though, mate.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
Yeah, well done on your birthday though, that's that's pretty nasty.
Speaker 7 (26:54):
Well, well, I don't particularly care about my birthday.
Speaker 5 (27:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (27:01):
Well we had a child and birthdays were a big teat. Yeah,
anything you had planned you didn't do because well, we've
got tickets. My birthday wasn't really relevant.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
Yeah, but still we've got tickets to Snow White for you.
Ballet Theater, Queensland. Snow White, Captivating and chanting and not
to be missed. Yeah, the holiday second to the fifth
of July at the Star Gold Coast Ballet Theater, Queensland,
spelled Wunning Snow White que Pax two to fifth of July.
Do you want to hear from Naomi? I think we've
(27:33):
got it.
Speaker 8 (27:33):
I do.
Speaker 6 (27:34):
Hey, Naomi, good morning.
Speaker 1 (27:36):
Hey did you get a random phone call at two
forty seven this morning or three forty seven.
Speaker 7 (27:41):
Yeah, I did see that. I just thought it was
a stand call.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
No, it was producer Claire. She was trying to she
was trying to call the person in her phone as
my sexy man who her partner.
Speaker 7 (27:54):
But she got you so good, pretty good second best guess.
Speaker 5 (27:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
Have you checked your messages yet?
Speaker 11 (28:02):
No?
Speaker 9 (28:02):
I haven't, Okay, I I was just hearing everything as
I was talking about it and I was driving.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
So can you check them and send it to me?
Like just ford the voicemail. I'm very interested to hear
what Claire had to say.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
I'm so sorry.
Speaker 5 (28:16):
Again, I didn't even realize it was all happening.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
Long does I didn't wake anyone, that's the big thing.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
Yeah, you're up anywaywards being a parent by the way
for everyone, right, come on, if I haven't tried.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
It, and while we've got you, Naomi, can I just apologize.
I have given Kip an early birthday present and I
think you're gonna hate it.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
Oh, okay, it's a jacket, Hi, Love, It's a jacket, Naomi.
And I will say that one of the other staff
in the kitchen didn't hear the birthday story and just
saw me in the kitchen went, whoa.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
It's a jacket and it's to try and pump his
pump up his tires a little bit for this signific
birthday because his dreams were destroyed about his rugby league
never being able to become a rugby league player, so
I focused in on the fact that he's quite a
good basketballer. He's really great.
Speaker 2 (29:19):
Oh this is a great top. Can you laugh a
little harder about that?
Speaker 6 (29:25):
Robin, Kip and Coy in the morning.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
So Cory's not with us this morning. He's on a
camping trip which he organized at the end of last
year when we thought we didn't have a job this year.
Speaker 1 (29:34):
No, and Monty, his seven year old, had begged them
to go camping with this group of friends and they
always go this time of year, and when we lost
our jobs, he said, sure we can go. Yeah, forgot
about it. Monty did not.
Speaker 2 (29:45):
No, So we're going to have Corey on the show
live from the camping location wherever it is, somewhere in Woopwoop.
Speaker 1 (29:50):
And all he's promised is he'll be drunk tonight.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
Yeah, Dusty tomorrow. So but at the end of last year.
You know, we had nowhere to go and we had
to look at some other options. You were writing your book,
which was great and where and I started the podcast
The Shed. But we needed a regular job and thank you.
Speaker 1 (30:07):
You know, we enjoy, like, we have a lot of
fun together. We enjoy and sometimes that sort of magic
in a team is really hard to come by. So
we were trying to pitch ourselves out as a trio
and to see if we could get a new gig.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
YEP, so we diversified and this is the tape we
sent to Triple J. Coming up a track that really
found me at two fourteen this morning after I accidentally
followed my ex's dog on Instagram.
Speaker 12 (30:43):
Yeah, now though, this is yeah and it's really something.
Socks in the Microwave by Melbourne experimental duo Crustacean JAKTUZI.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
Yeah, you can really hear the influences there, like broken
printers and emotional unavailability.
Speaker 2 (31:13):
Great feels. Next up, I've got a new one from
brizzy artists leaf Blower Baptism huge in the underground scene,
like literally underground, so they only perform in storm drains.
Really tricky when it's raining. Oh yeah, it would be,
wouldn't it.
Speaker 6 (31:35):
The tension and you feel at tension.
Speaker 12 (31:37):
It's really building for the hottest hundred. I'm so pumped.
Hear it in my voice.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
It's so pumped.
Speaker 6 (31:45):
Who will be number one?
Speaker 12 (31:47):
Maybe that Michael a Dolphin guy.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
Oh no, it's got to be the impassive aggressive post.
Speaker 2 (32:00):
You too, seem to have forgotten about Twistersphiner. Oh yeah,
that did. They were number five last year.
Speaker 6 (32:11):
They should have been higher, way higher.
Speaker 2 (32:14):
Kind of like I am right now. They did not
respond to our take. I think they're safe to say
we tried, we're try to diversify. They weren't interested.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
But anyway, I wish we had the outtakes to that
because we could not help
Speaker 6 (32:34):
Robin Keith and coyotes in the morning.
