like the best and the worst. Yes, So first of all,
we're going to do a chocolate test and see if
we can identify what the chocolates are, and then we're
going to see if we agree with the best and
the worst.
Speaker 4 (09:54):
Okay, okay, all right, just while we're getting our blindfolds on,
because we're going to to be doing a blind tastest
so we don't necessarily get any visual aspect of the chocolate.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
So yes, your right hand is the one you draw with.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
Okay, So which what are we doing first? Claire? You
on Mike.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
That one, Claire, Yeah, literally blind? Okay, hang on.
Speaker 15 (10:23):
In your hands, your left hand side, you have what
has been.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
Rated as the worst chocolates.
Speaker 15 (10:28):
Okay, and on your right hand side it's the chocolates
that have been rated the best chocolate.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
So I don't know which one you want to start with?
Speaker 10 (10:34):
Scared?
Speaker 3 (10:35):
But should we start left? Should go worse? Finished with
something good?
Speaker 7 (10:39):
All right?
Speaker 10 (10:40):
Left?

I think you're right, it's a milky way.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
Is that Mars? No, I think it's a Mars.
Speaker 5 (10:56):
That's a Mars.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
It's a marsh Mars.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
That's not bad. But they tell me that's bad.
Speaker 10 (11:02):
That's a milky way, Like.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
It is milky way, my bad.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
It is milky ware and and milky ways. Such a
waste of a chocolate because.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
Very light and adoring, perfect.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
Okay, So we're going to number two.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
That's the third worst, apparently, so this is the second worst, Okay, worst, Okay,
I know what this is?
Speaker 6 (11:23):
Oh youngish, that's so good.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
It's revolt. It's really awful.
Speaker 10 (11:34):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
It's like old jelly.
Speaker 10 (11:36):
I'd rather eat dog food left again.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
This is horrendous, okay, so the last of the worst.
Speaker 10 (11:43):
It tastes something this is that's a chirry right, but beautiful.
Speaker 3 (11:50):
I love I do like a cherry rite.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Why is that considered the worst? Who voted on this?
Speaker 10 (11:55):
Google?
Speaker 4 (11:56):
And you know that the it's full of coconut. It's
coconut that will take It's good.
Speaker 5 (12:01):
Coconut got almost no cherity.
Speaker 10 (12:03):
Is it real coconuts, real coconut flakes?
Speaker 1 (12:06):
And potentially white people don't like it because you're not
a coconut fan.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
You're not a coconut.
Speaker 10 (12:12):
They're the best.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
Well I disagree from the milky.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
Well, that's not bad if they're the worst. I mean,
with the exception of the Turkish to live light is
the worst. It's okay, So moving on to the right
hand side. So these are supposed to be the best
chocolates in the world, Come on all right? Number one?
Speaker 10 (12:30):
Mm hmm?
Speaker 2 (12:32):
Is that Mars?
Speaker 10 (12:35):
What's the market?
Speaker 3 (12:37):
It's got caramel in it. It's definitely caramel.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
It's definitely a mass.
Speaker 5 (12:43):
You're talking to me, it's chocolate, you know.
Speaker 4 (12:44):
It's funny though this is not that dissimilar to the
Milky Way which was one of the worst.
Speaker 3 (12:49):
Hang with added caramel.
Speaker 10 (12:50):
We're a broken one.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
That must be a flake.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
Yeah, okay, oh yeah, the second one you have to
you have to you don't need to see it, or
flake is a.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
Flake totally blindfolded plates and when the feeling around good
as chocolate.
Speaker 4 (13:08):
By the way, I gave I gave Rafael my boy
a flake the end the other day at the shops
while we're walking around.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
That's the only place to give a child flake, by
the way, because it was just a crumbly mess. They
make a nightmare out of it.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
That should make the last one.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
This is the best of the best chocolates according to
the Google.
Speaker 5 (13:25):
What do you do?
Speaker 6 (13:26):
This is the chocolate I don't trust people in here,
I can't see and it's all mumbled.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
Snickers it is considered one of the best.
Speaker 10 (13:39):
Yeah, Snickers because when you're not feeling yourself, have Snickers.
Speaker 4 (13:43):
This is an very I feel like this is a
very American list, like Sniggers is so American, isn't It
could also just.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
Be really good marketing too. And where's the trolley waffle?
Speaker 3 (13:52):
And where where is picnic? What about a picnic?
Speaker 2 (13:56):
What about?
Speaker 3 (13:59):
I mean, come on, what about where's the hazel nut?
Shouldn't be hazel nut in something?
Speaker 1 (14:03):
Should we put an Australian list together? We should come
on Brisbane six five Your.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
Best and worst?
Speaker 4 (14:08):
Yeah, let's let's hear what you absolutely love or absolutely loathe?
Speaker 6 (14:13):
Are you with us that ruined Robin's life?
Speaker 5 (14:16):
And make it realize it is horrendous?
Speaker 8 (14:19):
Let's six five Robin, Kip and Coyotes in the morning.
Speaker 5 (14:23):
Joe yea, what do you think?
Speaker 18 (14:28):
How are you?
Speaker 1 (14:29):
So?
Speaker 3 (14:29):
What's what's your best? What's your top shelf?
Speaker 15 (14:32):
Oh?
Speaker 21 (14:33):
Best?
Speaker 7 (14:33):
I want to always go for I work from and
we're always looking for chocolate. I have to say, crunchy crunchy?
Speaker 5 (14:41):
Wow?
Speaker 3 (14:41):
Do you do you? Is there a difference between crunchy
and violet? Crumble to you?
Speaker 15 (14:46):
Yes?
Speaker 16 (14:52):
Country?
Speaker 2 (14:54):
What's the difference?
Speaker 7 (14:58):
More behind a cumb hard?
Speaker 3 (15:00):
Okay, okay, I did not know. And what's the worst?
What's your worst chocolate?
Speaker 15 (15:06):
Sorry?
Speaker 7 (15:06):
Robin, I'm going against you.
Speaker 6 (15:15):
It looks like just a lot of mixed crap that
people didn't want.
Speaker 5 (15:19):
They just shoved it in.
Speaker 3 (15:20):
It's got a weird perfume.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
Delicious, mullyat ipswich. Best chocolate?
Speaker 22 (15:26):
Hi, guys, So best chocolate is actually I feel like
it's underrated. But don't the furry friends. You guys had
fairy friends.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
I have not.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
What is a fairy friend?
Speaker 22 (15:38):
So I thought you guys know. It comes in like
a pack of like five and their little rectangular flat chocolate.
They're almost like a kid sized chocolate and they come
printed with Australian animals like Cadbury. They are like perfect size.
Yeah enough, I highly recommend.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
And then it's basically just like you Cabri milk, just.
Speaker 10 (16:03):
Dairy milk pretty much, so you're dairy milk.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
Yeah, that is good, straight up Cabri. I don't know
have you tried that? Have you tried?
Speaker 6 (16:14):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (16:14):
Yeah, we tried it when we're in lockdown when we
did Hide and Seek that Tony's chocolate.
Speaker 10 (16:18):
Oh my goodness.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
Have you seen that? It's in like a green or
you introduced me to.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
That saying it's Naomi's.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
That's the Tony's chocolate.
Speaker 10 (16:27):
But all the chocolate ate and Hide and Seek was beautiful, Marie.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
It's like creek best and worst. What is it?
Speaker 11 (16:34):
Hey? It's absolutely Turkish delight.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
I mean you're handy to have around with this because you.
Speaker 11 (16:43):
Can take that actually when it's cold.
Speaker 6 (16:48):
I think that proves it why it's so bad, Because
you get a box of favorites, there's fifty people, there's
only one that'll lead them.
Speaker 3 (16:56):
One Turkish Delight fifty I'm telling you. So then if that,
if that's your best one, if that's the best, what's
the worst then for you? Boost?
Speaker 10 (17:08):
Yeah, what's it's something the worst? I don't get it like.
Speaker 11 (17:14):
It is the worst.
Speaker 5 (17:15):
Absolutely in the middle. I wouldn't get worse.
Speaker 6 (17:20):
I just think there's a lot of chocolates that are
very similar, and Boost in the list of similar but it's.
Speaker 12 (17:26):
Still better than always left in our whole family.
Speaker 11 (17:30):
No one will touch than absolutely desperate to have it Morrow.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
What is a Morrow like a Morrow Morrow?
Speaker 6 (17:36):
Well, there is mass They're all knockoffs, these other chore
knockoffs of the of.
Speaker 1 (17:42):

South Australia, so I'm like, what is a Brisbane chocolate?
Speaker 3 (17:49):
Do we have one?
Speaker 10 (17:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (17:50):
Apparently we do.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
New Farm Confectionery. They handmade chocolate, so maybe we should
try and find them.
Speaker 5 (17:56):
Where's turkeys a lot?
Speaker 10 (17:57):
Who made that?
Speaker 3 (17:58):
Somewhere in Turky.
Speaker 10 (18:01):
Somebody?
Speaker 6 (18:02):
I'm getting Turkey's definitely all right, is that you had
a low bab.
Speaker 10 (18:12):
I just probably should have thought about that. This was
my report card, doesn't think before he speaks.
Speaker 8 (18:19):
Rather in the morning.
Speaker 4 (18:21):
Halfway through the podcast. Okay, so hopefully you've already heard
my story. If not, it's coming up where I was
talking about Naomi having resort enemies. Anytime we go on holidays,
it's one that happens within the first half of the day,
someone that we need to despise for the rest of
our trip.
Speaker 6 (18:37):
Yes, now we don't always get them, but I'm going
to say ninety nine point of the time we do.
And you know it's even part of her job at
FOGS is she does the events, organized events, and she's
the way she is in life is pretty much like that.
Speaker 10 (18:54):
She plans every day.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
It's very organized, very organized, and it bothers me a
lot party planner last year.
Speaker 10 (19:00):
That's why she does my calendars.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
Like she tells me that my life is so much easier.
Speaker 6 (19:04):
Yeah, Like she plans everything, and even when I'm doing
trips like little road trips to somewhere, She'll.
Speaker 10 (19:10):
Try and plan it without even knowing actually how long
it takes. I'm like, mate, you've got no idea like anyway.
Speaker 6 (19:15):
Apart from that, Now, she plans your holidays, right and
I'm talking like tenery.
Speaker 10 (19:20):
Every day, which piece off?
Speaker 6 (19:23):
Just put that out there, and you know she gets
the d was organized all of it. Even if we
get that pee you off because because then you can
relax it and I have to think about it. Well, no,
because you're not relaxed because every part of the holiday
is planned.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
Okay, what's not the paperwork that it's people plan.
Speaker 5 (19:39):
I want to rock up and do nothing.
Speaker 10 (19:42):
That's my holiday. That's a holiday to me, not.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
When to get back.
Speaker 10 (19:44):
I want a holiday.
Speaker 6 (19:46):
So before you even start your holiday, you obviously got
to check in, you know. And if the flight wasn't great,
or if we didn't get the right seats, that's its
own issue, right, But when you hit to the destination,
you're checking in to the hotel, resort whatever. Now, if
that poor receptionist hasn't nailed our booking to the point
(20:10):
where I don't know, if the towels aren't brand new,
all the sheets haven't been caught like, that's a delay.
Speaker 5 (20:18):
If there's a delay or.
Speaker 6 (20:19):
Anything that Teagan has put in the request or the booking.
Speaker 3 (20:22):
Oh yeah, because she sent emails before you got that.
Speaker 10 (20:24):
She sends all that, she brings, she does everything.
Speaker 2 (20:27):
What does she do to the receptionist?
Speaker 5 (20:29):
Oh it gets that bad.
Speaker 6 (20:31):
I walk away embarrassed and she cracks it because she's like,
you don't let back me.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
I shaid, No, I can't back you.
Speaker 5 (20:40):
Now, can I?
Speaker 10 (20:42):
Well?
Speaker 23 (20:42):
I booked it. This is what we deserve. This is
what it said, we pay for it. I'm like, but
it's probably not her fault. Like the poor thing is
just clicked on your name and it's just come up.
Speaker 4 (20:54):
She hasn't seen all the emails and going hey, so
and so it's very important this view this room.
Speaker 6 (21:00):
She's not the person on booking dot com that is like,
you know, transfer the information incorrectly. Get your manager like this,
I honestly and but this is just like she's.
Speaker 3 (21:15):
And then you see that receptions for the rest of
your holiday.
Speaker 5 (21:18):
I know.
Speaker 6 (21:18):
And I even say to I'm like, mate, every who
knows they're not going to fight on their pillows every
every day, that's when they clean this room, like you're
just now I'm scared, Like now, I don't know if
I'm gonna have a good time here.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
Like receptionists possibly won't her, you.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
Chef, everyone's gonna be looking at you like, there those
people complaining during a meal or at the start of
a meal at a restaurant.
Speaker 3 (21:40):
That's dangerous.
Speaker 10 (21:41):
I can't do that either. She loves it, like you know,
I'm like.
Speaker 3 (21:45):
It's not it's doing it.
Speaker 10 (21:47):
Yeah, I have to walk away and sit down.
Speaker 6 (21:51):
I over takee the kids, calm kids, like, let's go,
we'll go shopping, we'll come back and hopefully.
Speaker 4 (21:56):
It's I need to like, if I'm complaining at a restaurant,
I need I need to leave a huge amount of
food that I don't need, to make it obvious and
have the person specifically say was there something wrong with this?
Speaker 5 (22:09):
That's me?
Speaker 8 (22:09):
Then I'll take you some and I go, yeah.
Speaker 4 (22:12):
Look, unfortunately, I don't know what happened. It's like ten
times the salt of the normal stage. Yeah, and I
can't eat.
Speaker 5 (22:17):
Well, you know how they come past it?
Speaker 3 (22:19):
The volunteer the information even though.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
You pay for it.
Speaker 3 (22:22):
Yeah, you're crazy. Oh no, it's stupid.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
I don't ever click anyone. Please don't do that.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
Aren't too scared to.
Speaker 4 (22:32):
But my mom, if my mom's there, she will. She
refuses to complain, even if it's terrible goes there's something
wrong with this steak. And I'm about to say, yeah,
there is.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
Mum will go no, it's beautiful, it's beautiful. He's got
a stomach bug.
Speaker 5 (22:46):
Move on.
Speaker 3 (22:46):
Really, she will not complain. Oh, Sylvia, it's delightful.
Speaker 5 (22:50):
Look at it looks good.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
Done it.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
We do a dialing dare on your mom. Oh yeah,
and see if we could get her to complain.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
Try and get it a fire up about something. Yeah,
that's a good yeah, do that. It's almost impossible.
Speaker 21 (23:01):
Okay, Yeah, Robin Kid and coyotes.
Speaker 4 (23:06):
You've been getting fired up, Cory, because well what's teaking done?
Speaker 2 (23:11):
Well, look, it's been all day to be this is.
Speaker 10 (23:15):
This has a bit a bit.
Speaker 6 (23:16):
This is an issue of mine for a while, like
always say tigging. She's a hoarder, you know, like she
keeps stuff, and I'm like, we don't need it, you
know why, It's just rubbish.
Speaker 10 (23:26):
It's stuff we don't You're never going to use it
or whatever anyway.
Speaker 6 (23:29):
And a prime example of this was the other day
I bought heaps of meat, you know, just stuck up
in the freezer, and I'm going through the freezer clean
all the crap back because I I hate to have
them for we haven't eaten for like I'm talking like
eight months and they're still frozen. Okay, you know, haven't
eaten it.
Speaker 10 (23:46):
Let's get rid of it.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
Give it to the dogs.
Speaker 3 (23:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (23:48):
And I'm like, okay, now what this cake?
Speaker 5 (23:51):
I said, Oh, this.
Speaker 6 (23:52):
Cake don't need to be in the do like this
is one of the kids birthdays twelve months ago.
Speaker 10 (23:58):
She's just silly case.
Speaker 6 (24:00):
Do not throw that out. I'm like, well, I'm gonna
she said, do not throw that out.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
Why wedding cake.
Speaker 5 (24:08):
It's your wedding cake.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
I knew that. I knew that was coming. Of course
they did.
Speaker 5 (24:11):
Wedding wedding cake.
Speaker 3 (24:13):
Yeah, you was that like eight years ago?
Speaker 10 (24:16):
Yeah, seven seven.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
Seven, coming up the freezer for eight years. Thank you.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
It's don't blow up about that.
Speaker 5 (24:28):
Why it's taking up space and it's awkward.
Speaker 10 (24:30):
It's it's half a case that doesn't sit properly.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
Do you know My aunt and she died at the
age of eighty, had a piece of her wedding cake
and she got married in the fifties.
Speaker 10 (24:41):
But but but what what the point does it sentiment?
Speaker 5 (24:45):
It sits at the bottom of the freezer.
Speaker 4 (24:48):
Now listen, there'll be kids in the car who are
learning all about energy usage. I mean, what about the
carbon footprint of that piece of cake that's been in
a freezer that's been switched on for forty fifty years.
Speaker 3 (24:57):
It's stupid. Chuck it out.
Speaker 2 (24:59):
You're not going to eat it, okay, but.
Speaker 5 (25:00):
Look at it.
Speaker 10 (25:01):
You don't go down and like what.
Speaker 3 (25:05):
I mean.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
I'm curious to know anyone actually does eat it. But
I that's just what you do.
Speaker 6 (25:12):
You got with the cake in it, that beautiful cake, right,
the song, the song that you walk down the aisle
toll that takes you back.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
The piece of cake that's in the freezer.
Speaker 10 (25:22):
If I throw it out, you wouldn't have known if
I didn't blow up.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
Yeah, well you've just moved so turning off the freezer,
moving it and turning back on again. That there is
some it's a realization that there is the cake in there.
Speaker 4 (25:35):
But I don't have a problem with keeping the cake
thirty one sixty five Did you check it out?
Speaker 6 (25:41):
No, you're not marriage yet, but you know you can't
do that stuff.
Speaker 3 (25:47):
The queen.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
I think the queen's wedding cake is still in the freezers.
Speaker 15 (25:56):
Yeah, I have a lot of friends who have their
because it's like, I'm in my twenties, it's wedding season.
Among my friends, a lot of them have their wedding cakes.
They freeze it and they eat it every year on
the anniversary. Though, I did, yeah, that's it's really common. Yes, yes, however,
I did just google it. I was like, how long
can a cake stay fresh? And it says if you
(26:17):
properly store it and wrap it and it's all really good,
it can last for up to two months.
Speaker 3 (26:22):
Two months, four years later.
Speaker 5 (26:27):
That god point, fruit.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
Cake can last longer than that. It would depend on
the cake.
Speaker 3 (26:31):
Fruitcakes not giving a decade.
Speaker 5 (26:33):
I don't give a rat any cake. It shouldn't mean
the past.
Speaker 2 (26:37):
So what do you want to what do you want
to ask?
Speaker 5 (26:40):
Why do people or like this stuff? Why? Why?
Speaker 3 (26:45):
Why?
Speaker 10 (26:46):
What would you keep it?
Speaker 12 (26:47):
So?
Speaker 2 (26:48):
Do you want to know?
Speaker 10 (26:48):
What? Have you got anything?
Speaker 5 (26:50):
Silly?
Speaker 8 (26:51):
No?
Speaker 2 (26:51):
I mean if I've kept it, it's because I wanted.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
Yes, Come on, have you got anything others.
Speaker 10 (27:00):
You keep?
Speaker 3 (27:01):
Thirteen thirteen one six y five? What is your partner keeping?
It could be the cake? What else?
Speaker 4 (27:07):
What else could it be? They tell us about it?
Thirteen one oh six five Robin, Kip.
Speaker 8 (27:10):
And coyotes in the morning.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
Now we were speculating when you should eat and thank
you thirteen one o sixty five. People are going off,
and I did say that someone in our team in
our studio has been dubbed in and that would be
our boss Drooe. Oh yes, who stands beside us every
day in the studio.
Speaker 10 (27:27):
What are you?
Speaker 3 (27:27):
Twenty years married, sixteen sixteenth?
Speaker 2 (27:32):
Well done?
Speaker 10 (27:33):
That hurts?
Speaker 3 (27:33):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (27:34):
Tell us about your eating cake, Drew.
Speaker 20 (27:37):
I know it still exists somewhere, and it's I think
it's offensive. I wasn't allowed to keep all my CD
singles and tapes. They had to go some mankey sixteen
year old cake can sit in the freezer.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
Well, I got sense of Soto and this was June
twenty twenty when we cut and ate it.
Speaker 20 (27:57):
I wouldn't have eaten it.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
Yeah you did, Yeah you did. Six there we.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
Go six years ago. You ate ten year old cake? Yeah, repols,
I don't remember that, Alana checked. Two months is what
it's supposed to last in the freezer.
Speaker 4 (28:13):
Two months and you went, you went, And I don't
think it had booze in it either.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
Wow, keeping these you can a lot of people, Hidi
red Bang planes.
Speaker 16 (28:23):
What you got, hi, guys?
Speaker 14 (28:25):
A quick history lesson for a cake. Yes, traditionally wedding
cake with fruitcake full of alcohol, also covered with marsipan
which helped to preserve it. And it was originally eaten
on either your first wedding anniversary or the christening of
your first child.
Speaker 3 (28:44):
Oh okay, it kind of makes sense. That makes sense.
I meany years. This sounds like a stretch, but that's
not that bad.
Speaker 6 (28:52):
Can we get some health people on here, please just
say how unhealthy it is?
Speaker 2 (28:55):
Hi, Tom of Aljest.
Speaker 9 (28:58):
Yeah, you know, yeah, no, so the same thing. We
kept the top layer of our wedding cake for the
first birthday of our son. Unfortunately, so don't know how
it would have worked out.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
But yeah, well what did you just say.
Speaker 9 (29:16):
We moved country so we couldn't exactly bring it with us.
Speaker 6 (29:19):
Okay, if it's not on airplane, then that's right.
Speaker 9 (29:31):
It would have sort out and they don't think it
would have been too good.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
That's the end.
Speaker 5 (29:35):
It's customs. I don't want to that is that's proofn it.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
We are done.
Speaker 10 (29:43):
We're done.
Speaker 8 (29:45):
Robin Ki and coryotes in the morning.
Speaker 2 (29:48):
Sarah of Cornubia tell us about the wedding cake.
Speaker 13 (29:52):
Yeah, so we had a three layer wedding cake. The
top layer was the fruit covered in the icing. That
might be sn I think. And we he had the
first player that was in the freezer for my first
son's christening, which was about five years after our wedding,
and then the other half of it for my second
time christening, which is another three.
Speaker 3 (30:12):
Years later, five and eight years. Did you did you
get it?
Speaker 13 (30:17):
Was totally fine. It was fruitcake.
Speaker 6 (30:19):
It's last yeah, mate, and just put it in the
Marsian I think Marsi band has been given a lot
of credit here that perhaps doesn't deserve as the wonderful preserver.
Speaker 2 (30:37):
Yeah, Eliza Oxley.
Speaker 7 (30:43):
I ate on my own, uh out the top player
of our wedding cake.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
How long?
Speaker 10 (30:51):
How old was it?
Speaker 2 (30:53):
That's like dru band?
Speaker 10 (30:55):
And how did you go? How'd you feel? Well?
Speaker 7 (30:58):
We got divorced. I cleaned up the house, empty the
freezer out and the worst part about it was the icing.
Speaker 3 (31:07):
So you after the divorce that you know what this cake?
I'm going to get supping out of this wedding.
Speaker 7 (31:15):
I celebrated in a different way the cake.
Speaker 2 (31:18):
And did you get sick.
Speaker 7 (31:20):
No, it was delicious. Tastes tasted as good as the
rest of the cake that we ate on the day,
really held up.
Speaker 2 (31:30):
Did you feel satisfied atleast? Was that the clothing you needed?
Speaker 7 (31:33):
I just wrapped it in glad wrap and then I
wrapped it in foil and then I put it in
a tup ofway container that clicked together. So wow, I
had no ice nothing.
Speaker 6 (31:49):
Remember what my cake tastes like at my wedding, So
there you go.
Speaker 10 (31:52):
So I wouldn't have that feeling.
Speaker 3 (31:53):
You're also full of alcohol from the cake, not.
Speaker 8 (31:56):
From the cake.
Speaker 3 (31:59):
In your divorce, he got the frying pans.
Speaker 7 (32:04):
I don't know what he took all. I highly recommend
you Old Ca.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
Okay, thanks, Hey Megan outed Deception Bay. Hello, mean you
have taken the whole cake chat to a totally different level,
and I think the boys may change their opinion.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
Give us your example.
Speaker 11 (32:29):
So I currently have a giant red Emperor fish sitting
in my freezer that has been there for I would
say well over five years.
Speaker 10 (32:41):
Cat of course, yeah, it.
Speaker 11 (32:43):
Was a It is my husband, so I do have
to give it to him. He did a good job
catching it, but my goodness, seeing those googly eyes that
I opened the freezer every time much.
Speaker 4 (32:55):
That is, and now they are also I'm sure from
seeing like the little pictures on the door of my freezer,
aren't they like three to six months for fish?
Speaker 11 (33:03):
Quite possibly?
Speaker 3 (33:05):
So you ever planning on eating the Red Emperor.
Speaker 11 (33:08):
I'm not allowed to.
Speaker 18 (33:09):
I'm allowed to cook it, I'm not allowed to throw
it out.
Speaker 3 (33:13):
It's trophy trophy fish.
Speaker 1 (33:16):
Does that change your opinion on how long do you
keep things in a freezer?
Speaker 6 (33:20):
Because you get a photo it still looks true.
Speaker 3 (33:24):
I think I think it's time to go for.
Speaker 5 (33:28):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (33:30):
I got a guy, I'm a fisherman, and I come on,
it's got to go.
Speaker 18 (33:35):
I can't, I can't talk.
Speaker 11 (33:36):
I also have my kids birthday cake in the frieze
that's over the kids.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
Are you going to eat it?
Speaker 10 (33:42):
Ever? Man?
Speaker 18 (33:43):
Probably not, and I probably won't miss it if I
throw it out.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
But you got to the end.
Speaker 10 (33:50):
It's not like you say to people, Hey, come on,
I have a look at these check.
Speaker 3 (33:54):
Out check out the freezer. I've got a cake, I've
got a fish.
Speaker 18 (33:58):
I've got all from there, you know, don't worry.
Speaker 21 (34:10):
Robin Kith and choreotes in Okay, before I asked you
a very important question about your relationship, and that was
who holds the mental load?
Speaker 2 (34:21):
Honest answer, What do you mean.
Speaker 10 (34:22):
By who holds the worst? Because I definitely don't be
specific specific.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
I'm saying who holds the mental load for the family?
Speaker 1 (34:30):
Who is constantly overseeing that, making sure things happen?
Speaker 3 (34:36):
Thinking this is coming up, and we've got to make
sure that.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
Someone is taking a responsibility for the family in terms
of thinking through consequences events, social things like who takes
the mental load? Who knows when on daycare day this
sort of thing has to happen, or what when sport
is for the kids?
Speaker 2 (34:57):
Like who has got the mental load?
Speaker 3 (35:00):
Obviously not you course.
Speaker 2 (35:05):
Okay, interesting, and I knew you were going to say this.
Speaker 1 (35:10):
So my next question is, if you don't hold the
mental load, do you really want to be in a partnership,
Because a guy called Owen Squires, who's a psychologist, he's
a dad, he's a TikToker and instagrammer, claims that if
you don't, then.
Speaker 2 (35:28):
Potentially you shouldn't be in a relationship.
Speaker 24 (35:32):
I don't think most married men even want to be married, honestly,
And the reason we see so many men struggling to
sacrifice within their marriage is because they view the marriage
itself as the sacrifice. A guy will get married, have
two or three kids, but still feel entitled to play
video games when he gets home from work, or go
golfing with the boys all weekend, or devote an entire
(35:53):
Sunday to watching football. Because in a man's mind, we
are already making two of the ultimate sacrifices right.
Speaker 5 (35:59):
The first of where we are going to work.
Speaker 24 (36:01):
We are trading our time for money and making a
paycheck for our family, even though that's something we would
have to do regardless. The other sacrifice is that we
are now taking off the market because we are married.
We are sleeping with just one one in the rest
of our lives, and therefore she owes us and I
think subconsciously, because of these perceived sacrifices that we're already making,
(36:22):
we feel entitled to a woman's physical, mental, and emotional labor.
It feels like something that's owed to us.
Speaker 5 (36:28):
Because we view the.
Speaker 24 (36:29):
Mental load as something that is hers to carry, right,
the thinking, the remembering. It's much easier for us to
just be in the background, like a robot. What do
you need now, what do you need now, Because there's
no mental labor involved in that, there's just physical labor
that's easy for us to take on. The mental load
would mean true partnership, and true partnership is a sacrifice,
and we've already done enough of that.
Speaker 3 (36:51):
Is but I like that, and I'm mind going to
sleep with you. You've already looked all this. Damn all right,
you got all this on tap.
Speaker 5 (37:01):
He's ridiculous.
Speaker 10 (37:02):
Really, he's taking He's got to be.
Speaker 1 (37:05):
Because I got said this by a couple of girlfriends.
I don't know why he's gone viral, but a couple
of girlfriends are like, this is absolutely it and they said,
what do you think? And I said, well, I work
with two men who I know don't take the mental live.
Speaker 6 (37:19):
So I'm going to ask if it's not affecting me.
I do not want I don't let it bother me
at all. Like I'm like, oh, well, that's not my
issue anymore.
Speaker 2 (37:27):
I know, but the mental load still requires someone.
Speaker 6 (37:31):
Because I feel like this is going could be carefully,
but I feel like he's like hanging onto things just
to make a point of it, or like make it
an argument or talk about it all the time, whereas men,
we don't you love talking about it to your friends
and to each other, whereas we're like our that happened if.
Speaker 1 (37:49):
You don't responsibility if you don't share it. And I
think the only person in our team mail in our
team who does is actually.
Speaker 3 (37:58):
Drew the mental load.
Speaker 1 (38:00):
I mean, I could be wrong here.
Speaker 2 (38:05):
There because he does equally.
Speaker 3 (38:08):
It's just different.
Speaker 4 (38:09):
Like actually, even I had a conversation with Naomi last night.
We were talking about I think we're watching a show
and someone's dad died, and she said, do you think
about that ever?
Speaker 3 (38:17):
About your dad dying? And I was like, no, yes,
and she's like, oh, that's so on brand for you.
Speaker 4 (38:22):
And she's like, because I think about it all the time,
and she goes, but that's great, that's great that you don't.
Speaker 3 (38:26):
You don't get bombed down in it.
Speaker 4 (38:28):
Like it'll be a complete surprise. I won't have thought
about it when it happens. Well, they're assuming it never will.
Speaker 1 (38:32):
Yeah, I mean, that's not a great thing to think about.
But I understand what.
Speaker 3 (38:35):
You worries about it, because that's her personality.
Speaker 1 (38:39):
But do you see that there could be resentment from
your partners for not taking on some of the load.
Speaker 10 (38:45):
It's like when goes Do you ever think about that?
Speaker 3 (38:47):
I went, No, this is my point.
Speaker 5 (38:49):
No, it doesn't cross my mind. Let that bother me.
Speaker 2 (38:53):
So it does?
Speaker 1 (38:54):
Is it true that there is a slight resentment or
an expectation that because you've locked down one woman, this
resentment that you're not available to everyone else.
Speaker 6 (39:05):
But the other thing is, you know how we'spoking about
golfing there and other stuff. You just get nails, get
facial years, get hair like.
Speaker 10 (39:14):
This is the alter like, this is the alternative for us.
This is what I mean by that.
Speaker 1 (39:19):
I'll take that as a solid note from the two.
Speaker 10 (39:23):
I don't let th I.
Speaker 4 (39:24):
Do say Tonaomi, just be thankful for all this and
look look at this body and this is all yours locked.
Speaker 2 (39:31):
Down And did your laugh?
Speaker 3 (39:34):
Really?
Speaker 2 (39:36):
Why did she walk out of the room and give
yourself enough?
Speaker 4 (39:40):
Doesn't even dignify I locked it for you.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
You know what the worst part of.
Speaker 3 (39:46):
That job of locked and you need for that?
Speaker 2 (39:48):
Do you know what the worst part of this is?
I know what you're saying is true.
Speaker 8 (39:54):
Robin and Coo.
Speaker 1 (39:55):
In the morning, a little bird told me you've finally
done something.
Speaker 3 (39:59):
Done something in your life. You've done a positive thing.
I've done a good thing.
Speaker 1 (40:04):
It's only taken you three and a half months.
Speaker 2 (40:09):
Yeah, that you finally read my book?
Speaker 3 (40:12):
Yes, I did. I read it while we're in tire.
Speaker 5 (40:15):
Is he get to start all of it?
Speaker 12 (40:18):
No?
Speaker 3 (40:18):
I still haven't done The Boys.
Speaker 4 (40:20):
The Boys basically my star went up on the star
chart and it's coming straight back.
Speaker 2 (40:27):
We do have a star chart and Drew our bosses
the keeper of the start.
Speaker 3 (40:30):
But yes, I've basically read it.
Speaker 2 (40:32):
Yeah, I'm just basically Or did you skim through it?
Speaker 10 (40:35):
No?
Speaker 3 (40:35):
I read it. You read it. I read it.
Speaker 2 (40:37):
I'm actually really impressed with it.
Speaker 10 (40:39):
You read it like the internet thing, read the red Reddit.
Speaker 3 (40:43):
No, I really get into it. I read every word
and I process everything, and I think, do you think?
Speaker 10 (40:47):
What do you think of Robin? Now?
Speaker 4 (40:48):
Hey, it's good, i'd say, yeah, man, you've lived a life.
Speaker 2 (40:57):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (40:59):
So what I'm going to say you to try and
save Kit Whiteman because I do have a deep love
and respect for you. I know that when it comes
to hard emotional things, you would rather do anything else.
Speaker 4 (41:10):
It's true, right, I did have one stage where I
said to Naomi while we were away, I was just
Can you just read Can you read the next few
chapters and tell me about it? Because this is full
on which bit I think it was when we got
to Sean.
Speaker 2 (41:26):
So what happened was at the time.
Speaker 1 (41:28):
And for those that don't know, I've written a book
about the last ten years of my life, my husband Tony,
who is the boys, my three sons. Dad suicided in
twenty fourteen. I then married again, and my husband Sean
died of cancer. Now that makes it sound all totally
doom and gloomy.
Speaker 3 (41:44):
It isn't.
Speaker 4 (41:45):
No, it's not it's not no, No, there's yeah, there's
a lot of funny stories in there, stories about you know,
some nice memories of Tony as well, because I never
really got to Obviously, I never met Tony, so I
never heard his story and the.
Speaker 3 (41:58):
Boy's memories of him and stuff like that was really cool.
Speaker 1 (42:00):
Okay, So a little quiz, yes, sorry, Shoot, where did.
Speaker 2 (42:08):
I take the boys after Tony died?
Speaker 3 (42:11):
You took them to Africa?
Speaker 14 (42:13):
Ye?
Speaker 3 (42:13):
There you go, remember that?
Speaker 10 (42:15):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (42:15):
Okay, where did Sean? Where did Sean and I get married?
Speaker 3 (42:20):
You got married Ian a chair blossom?
Speaker 2 (42:30):
Where did I get married? Come on?
Speaker 3 (42:33):
It was it was a festival. It was like a festivus.
Speaker 2 (42:35):
It wasn't it was a festivus is in Sydney.
Speaker 3 (42:37):
No, damn it that it.
Speaker 2 (42:38):
Was in your bar, Byron, Yes, Byron, Yes, okay, Harvest
Restaurant was okay, Yes? What page were you mentioned? What
page were you mentioned on? Do you remember where in
the book you're mentioned?
Speaker 3 (42:55):
I saw my photos. It was in the photos. It
was in the photos, and I'm going to say it
about two hundred and twelve.
Speaker 5 (43:03):
No.
Speaker 1 (43:05):
Actually, to be fair, I don't think you've got there
if you haven't read the boys chapters, because each of
my sons finish the book and I will quiz you
on them once you've read it. But I do say
to Kip and Corey at ninety seventy three, as well
as our production team, and I mentioned them, I say
that you're amazing and I love you.
Speaker 3 (43:22):
So there we go.
Speaker 5 (43:23):
I'm going to read that part and then I'm done.
Speaker 2 (43:24):
Yes, So this is the hardest question, and.
Speaker 10 (43:28):
You know I know you Okay, okay?
Speaker 2 (43:32):
Out of ten.
Speaker 4 (43:34):
Rating, Yeah, as I finish it, though, Yeah, I do
need to finish it before I can give a giver.
Speaker 2 (43:40):
You can you can be brutally honest I've had all kinds.
Speaker 4 (43:43):
Yes, I give it honestly, I give it a solid
eight because I know it's.
Speaker 3 (43:48):
Not I feel like it's not for me, this book. Well,
but I still got a lot out of it. Still, yeah,
you could read number one.
Speaker 2 (43:57):
Thing you got out of it.
Speaker 4 (43:58):
Oh, well, you've lived life and this is probably the
most bothersome for me as someone who's in here pushing
the buttons and stressed.
Speaker 3 (44:06):
I know that you can do this.
Speaker 4 (44:07):
I know that you have paneled back in the day
in which you did in your early radio days.
Speaker 3 (44:11):
You can do this.
Speaker 2 (44:14):
How good am I keeping that quiet?
Speaker 3 (44:16):
That was a good secret.
Speaker 2 (44:17):
And of all the things that have happened in my life, yeah,
that is the.
Speaker 5 (44:21):
One took out of it. I good, thank his life
these ye.
Speaker 3 (44:26):
Never mind the funerals.
Speaker 4 (44:27):
I'm sitting what she can push my ballots, I'm sitting
over there, buttons.
Speaker 5 (44:33):
This is bull.
Speaker 4 (44:38):
In the morning, Good morning, the cold morning.
Speaker 17 (44:41):
How are you great?
Speaker 2 (44:42):
Good?
Speaker 3 (44:42):
Thank you?
Speaker 1 (44:43):
Tell us about your boys, Elie and Leo.
Speaker 17 (44:47):
Yes, I've got Leo who's seven, and he is a
beautifully he is the most beautiful little boy. He has
extremely large is he was gifted those by his dad?
Speaker 14 (44:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 10 (44:58):
Yes, And.
Speaker 17 (45:00):
I mean, I see them and I think they're beautiful.
I think every part of him is beautiful. Apparently every
child around him doesn't feel the same way and feels
the need to tell him that on a daily basis.
So obviously the easy one would be dumb, though. That's
like tame one. They call him big Ears, they call
him monkey, they call him monkey man, they just call
(45:21):
him anything to try him and bring him down, essentially.
Speaker 6 (45:25):
So it's not even like a little bits.
Speaker 17 (45:29):
That's trying to hurt it.
Speaker 10 (45:30):
That's just not nice, you know.
Speaker 6 (45:32):
It's It's one thing that if you're friends and you
have a little bit of a laugh between.
Speaker 10 (45:36):
Each other, but not when you're constantly doing it, like.
Speaker 4 (45:38):
Yeah, it's not like it's not like it's a footy clun.
Speaker 3 (45:42):
It's trying to trying to make him cry.
Speaker 10 (45:44):
Trying to say it until he brings him down.
Speaker 1 (45:46):
When my kids were little, because I also have big
ears gifted from my father, and I gave it, gave
them to two of my three children, and on different years,
both of them wrote a Christmas list to Santa asking
to there is pin pat Yeah it's isn't it? Because
I can always cover my ears with my hair. Yeah,
(46:08):
but the boys, you know, they had they had shorter
haircuts for sport. I so get this, So how does
he cope with it?
Speaker 17 (46:16):
So he actually ended up getting in a bit of
trouble last year because I told him that it's not
okay that people are talking to him this way. And
so someone said to him. A little girl went up
to him and said to him, you've got big ears
and he said, well, you have a bad personality.
Speaker 5 (46:33):
Well that's fair enough.
Speaker 2 (46:35):
And what happened they.
Speaker 17 (46:37):
Both got separate meetings. She got in more trouble than him, obviously,
like the conversation went about how he can't speak to
people that way as well. That gave him the power
back where he's not. I was worried about it now
because he's just like, well that's what you think, that's
your problems.
Speaker 3 (46:55):
And what about your other boys? So that was Leo
the seven year old, yep, and what about five.
Speaker 17 (47:00):
He's in prep this year. He was blessed with a
different gift from his dad, which is ADHD, which a
lot of people have, and as I think it's amazing
because of that, he is very hyperactive. He's in prep
this year and so learning the rules of prep in
school and learning that you can't do whatever you want
is hard. In week six of prep of term one,
(47:24):
he was suspended because he couldn't stay still in the
classroom a little and because of that. At the end
of term one, when I had a meeting with his teacher,
the words used was that he can't form positive relationships
with the prep cohort because they're all scared of being
around him and being in trouble for being like him.
Speaker 3 (47:45):
Right, so he's really struggling with friends.
Speaker 1 (47:47):
Then yeah different, Yeah, okay, Well both of your boys
plus their little sister because we can't leave her out.
We would love you to come and be part of
our super Power Squad which is happening next Monday night
at Area fifty one in Ipswich.
Speaker 17 (48:05):
Are you free, absolutely, yeah, thank you so much. I'm
so excited.
Speaker 3 (48:10):
Yeah, well, we're pumped to see it. We'll see you then, Nicle, thank.
Speaker 17 (48:13):
You so much.
Speaker 8 (48:14):
Robin Kidd and Couriotes in the morning.
Speaker 4 (48:17):
So we've just been to Thailand on holiday for my
birthday and Nome and I went over there.
Speaker 3 (48:22):
So it was my choice because I know I love Thailand.
Speaker 4 (48:26):
I love the warmth and the food and all that
the people cheap and it's cheap. Yeah, because we did
not go business class and that was fine.
Speaker 3 (48:36):
It was fine. I went through Singapore. Man, that's a
cool airport and see the butterflies.
Speaker 14 (48:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (48:42):
Business No one wants.
Speaker 1 (48:45):
To spend thirteen thousand dollars per se it's too much.
Speaker 2 (48:49):
It's on the same plane.
Speaker 1 (48:51):
Yeah, Like it's just yeah, I would never spend that,
like thir Like, no, no, I mean I couldn't anyway,
I don't have that something.
Speaker 3 (49:00):
But no, I know, you.
Speaker 4 (49:01):
Just you can't justify it. Not wonder you could be
back there for thirteen.
Speaker 2 (49:06):
The same plane going in the same direction at.
Speaker 3 (49:09):
The nine hours.
Speaker 4 (49:10):
You know, you feel like, how much good I upgrade
my hotel room for thirteen grand?
Speaker 2 (49:15):
Direct flight to New York might be slightlysten for.
Speaker 3 (49:18):
True, that's a fair point, yea.
Speaker 4 (49:20):
Anyway, so we stayed and we stayed at this great
place who one of the great breakfast buffets far out.
We gave that breakfast buffet and nudge. Honestly, it was
it was real hot.
Speaker 3 (49:29):
On the holiday, open until ten thirty. We're like, we're
not going to need lunch. We're just we're coming in here.
Speaker 4 (49:34):
We're going to plan it right, we're going to make
sure that we're full by ten thirty and then we're
good till dinner.
Speaker 12 (49:39):
Good.
Speaker 3 (49:40):
I didn't need anything.
Speaker 4 (49:41):
But on the very first day, the very first morning,
at breakfast, Naomi found her resort enemy, which seems to
happen every time we holiday, that she finds me an
enemy at the resort. There's one person that she's going
to despise for the rest of the trip.
Speaker 2 (49:57):
I don't know as in a guest or a stuff
it was a guest.
Speaker 3 (50:01):
I'm pretty sure she was a German lady, not one
hundred percent. Didn't hear us speak.
Speaker 4 (50:05):
But so at the very first that we had the
buffet breakfast. Buffet was over two levels as upstairs downstairs,
and we were trying to work out we'd just arrived,
so we're like, do we want to be.
Speaker 3 (50:13):
Up here or down there near the water? Do we
want to be up here near the food?
Speaker 4 (50:17):
And we're trying to work it out and Noaomi's like
down one step, and I was halfway down and said, now, look,
let's go back up. And so Naomi took a quick
spin to turn around and go back up. But right
behind her was the German lady with two bowls of
something about to walk down the stairs, and so Naomi's
then done the big you know spin right next to her,
and the lady's gone the most dramatic gasp you ever
(50:41):
and Noami didn't touch her, and the bowls are fine,
nothing fell, nothing feld nothing, and was gone, I'm so sorry,
I'm so sorry, And the lady said nothing and then
walked down the stairs with her bowls. And then so
for the rest of the house, she goes, there's that bitch.
Speaker 5 (50:55):
You don't think she could understand her.
Speaker 3 (50:57):
I don't think.
Speaker 4 (50:58):
I think no, it's because I heard them speaking sort
of broken English to the star. She knew what sorry man,
she just refused to accept her apology. And so the
rest of the trip.
Speaker 3 (51:08):
She's like, there she isn't that stupid head scarf?
Speaker 2 (51:10):
And with the German I don't want to call a
gem And I don't know it was the woman equally
miffed as for the whole week she gave.
Speaker 3 (51:21):
She gave off a snooty air just to Naomi. No,
just in general.
Speaker 10 (51:29):
Those people, And I'm.
Speaker 4 (51:30):
Sure I've been I can't remember them, but I'm sure
I've been to other other holiday destinations where within the
first day or so, okay, that's going to be our
resorting for the rest of the time. That's the person
we hate while we're here in this beautiful beach.
Speaker 3 (51:45):
I don't know, does anyone else do that?
Speaker 4 (51:47):
Does anyone else have a part of the either and
men often find a resort best friend, and do you
have a.
Speaker 3 (51:57):
Part of that finds a resort enemy.
Speaker 4 (52:00):
I'm interested to know if I'm alone in this Yeah, okay,
because it feels like it happens a lot. It feels
like that's just how I'm going to have the rest
of my holidays. I've just I need to accept that
on day one we're going to find someone.
Speaker 1 (52:11):
Sure you're not in a white lotus scenario, because you
might die, end.
Speaker 4 (52:15):
Up floating like Jennifer Coolidge floating in my moomoo.
Speaker 8 (52:20):
Robin Kippen Couriots in the morning,
