Fan at the time. He left literally at milk and
avocado and he was literally walking past, and there was
an auction on the other out of the right of
the shop, and he bought an apartment. What wasn't a
hartment studio a one beder?

Speaker 3 (13:06):
What else? Thirteen one, I six five?

Speaker 4 (13:07):
Their number hy John at a thorn lens? What did
you bring on, mate?

Speaker 17 (13:11):
It wasn't me.

Speaker 5 (13:12):
It was one of my good made Tommy. He went
out for football kids for his two boys with his
fifties and he come back with a may cat.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
He came back with a man.

Speaker 5 (13:25):
He come back with a may cat. And when he
was telling me, I was like, no nonsense. And he
brought it to pub on a on a like a
lead system, and it was it was no member time,
so it was cold in the UK. He brought it
in the local pub the plow and it went and
stood because we had an open fire, and went and
stood in front of the fire for the time or

(13:47):
warming itself. And his way is his wife wasn't happy
at all, but he kept it for He kept it
for a good year before he ended up handing her
over to a like a zoo.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
You get a mere cat, how do you actually access one?

Speaker 13 (14:07):
He just said.

Speaker 5 (14:08):
All whom he knew was trying to get visit of one,
and he thought it would be a great idea.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
I mean massive. No, they're tiny mere cats. I'm not
to say the moment that he walked into the pub
with a mere cat on a leash would have been
a pretty awesome moment for him.

Speaker 5 (14:27):
Everyone was.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
Standing on his hind legs by the fire. That's for me,
thanks John.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
Animals that seem to be the theme.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
Yeah, a non domestic animal, something special.

Speaker 4 (14:48):
I'm waiting for, like a little baby lion.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
Do you know?

Speaker 1 (14:53):
I was just googling because Harrod's department store in the
UK used to sell exotic animals, So up until nineteen
seven six you could buy a lion, an elephant, elephant,
an alligator, or a tiger at Harrod's.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
That's kind of like Maya, isn't it like back of
the day?

Speaker 1 (15:10):
Yep. So in nineteen sixty seven, the then governor of California,
Ronald Reagan, organized a baby elephant called Gerty from the
store for a Republican party rally.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
You got any elephants, I neat one for the party
we do afterwards.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
That's when the guy, the random guy, the secretary of
the governor, goes, oh, hey, honey, I just picked this
up from.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
What this was left over from the party. So going
on with some of those tea candles that you've picked
off at the table, but this is an elephant. Thirty
six five our number Robin in the morning.

Speaker 4 (15:48):
Hello Adele at Ananda. What was it that somebody brought home?

Speaker 13 (15:53):

Speaker 15 (15:54):
My ex went to buy my green son a fishing
rod for his birthday from BCS Okay, and he came
back the bike motor.

Speaker 7 (16:06):
And he didn't even bring back the fishing lots.

Speaker 4 (16:13):
Did he buy?

Speaker 7 (16:14):
Then?

Speaker 10 (16:14):
Well, I ended up.

Speaker 11 (16:15):
Buying him one for his birthday.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
Maybe that maybe it's jap that's a hack.

Speaker 5 (16:22):
Yeah, that's why he's the ex.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
He got. What did he bring home?

Speaker 13 (16:35):
My partner?

Speaker 8 (16:36):
He went out to get to some staples for the morning,
some milk, bread, and I don't know what happened, but
he must have seen like a Facebook marketplace out or
something because he ended up being gone for like three hours.
And then when he came home, he asked her to
get some shopping out of the car. He opened his
canopy and there was a sheep. You and we had

(17:02):
to get a second sheep because they get really depressed
when the.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
Yeah, I've heard that about donkeys. Sheep are the same.
You can't just have one hay.

Speaker 8 (17:11):
No, And we were like, I think he got it
with the intention of like a nice meal eventually, and
then his mother got really attached to them and wouldn't
allow us to do that.

Speaker 9 (17:24):
She has the goat what are they called sheep?

Speaker 3 (17:27):
She got the sheep.

Speaker 4 (17:29):
Have enough room for the sheep or no, big is
this block hair bigs a land.

Speaker 8 (17:33):
Well, we were living with his mum at the time.
It's like a it's like an acre. They just thought
a cruise around, but they pooed all over the patio.

Speaker 15 (17:42):
It was just a little like we had a toddler.

Speaker 8 (17:45):
She kept trying to eat it.

Speaker 3 (17:52):
I came back with some lamb Thank you, brookember hey
so who brought something home.

Speaker 13 (18:04):
Oh, my husband a bit of a habit of it
as well. But no, he went down to our local
pharmacy to pick up some medication and came home followed
by a tow truck with a car on the back

(18:24):
of it because he decided he wanted another new project.
Not that he doesn't have other projects, other unfinished projects
or anything, but yeah, came home with a car.

Speaker 4 (18:36):
To get it.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
And a car that's not running as well, it has
to be.

Speaker 13 (18:39):
Yes, a car that's not running, a car that didn't
even have an engine in it. But yes, no car
that's just a project car, a car that you know,
he works on other people's cars, and he just sort
of decided he's, like on sick of working on other
people's cars and not having one of my own.

Speaker 4 (18:55):
So, yeah, do you still have that car?

Speaker 13 (18:58):
Yeah, sitting in my backyard, you know, still a project
still it was only very recently, only a couple of
months ago.

Speaker 3 (19:08):
But still an engine.

Speaker 4 (19:10):
They're not cheap engine, yeah.

Speaker 11 (19:12):
Yeah, no, and he.

Speaker 13 (19:14):
He very specifically will be a rotary engine car as well,
not a cheap yeah. Three two three.

Speaker 16 (19:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
So I'm guessing by the sound of your voice you've
given up.

Speaker 13 (19:29):
Oh yeah, one hundred percent. So we've got so many
undermished projects. That's just you know, there's actually two project
cars in my backyard now. But but yeah, I think
it's just I think you get to a point where,
you know, whatever, it keeps him happy, and it keeps
him tinkering, and it keeps him busy.

Speaker 3 (19:46):
Just a wild guess. Brook was the medication that he
was picking up Riddle.

Speaker 7 (19:52):
No, but I have made that.

Speaker 13 (19:53):
Suggestion focus.

Speaker 2 (20:00):

My wife is furious at our neighbor next door who
someday's topless in her backyard.

Speaker 4 (22:55):
Personally, I just sit on top of the fence.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
He's sitting on the fence. I'm not sure that's okay?

Speaker 14 (23:07):
Can you stop now?

Speaker 3 (23:11):
Robin, Kip and Court in the morning, there is a
Tasmanian devil and large large Yeah, lock up your cats. Yeah,
Oh that'd be an interesting fight. I wonder what would
win between a feral cat and.

Speaker 17 (23:27):
You're actually thinking about that, I am going to tazy
devil would rip spreads through it.

Speaker 3 (23:30):
Well they're not that big, they're very small, but they're fist.
But feral cats get I know, and certainly all we
know from the Disney Channel.

Speaker 4 (23:41):
To the Tazzies, they ripped there and they can make
no chance.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
They can bite through bones. Fancy cats and going just
going off what we learned from Bugs Bunny, from.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
The Tasmanian Devils and the loose Rong Rong.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
But that one, it only worked like it traveled in whirlwinds, didn't.

Speaker 4 (24:04):
It started spinning. Everything in its path was gone, and.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
It was known for eating absolutely everything on Lady Tunes,
I mean, fences, gates, elephants, hippopotamus.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
You couldn't well. And this one's gotten out of the
fence Paradise Country on the on the Gold Coast, and
it's now it's been at large for six nights. They
haven't been able to find this, this tazzy devil. I'd
imagine there'd be plenty of food for it.

Speaker 4 (24:29):
Yeah, because they eat everything.

Speaker 3 (24:31):
As I said, lock up your cats. Yeah, well they
eat like from what I've seen I remember seeing Doccos
years ago. They love eating like roade kill, stuff that's
dead and on the ground. So just the possums.

Speaker 4 (24:44):
Life. I've gone back in there.

Speaker 3 (24:47):
But we figured since the authorities haven't been able to
do anything, maybe it's time for us to step in,
which is why we've called Mitch Lewis into the studio.

Speaker 4 (24:54):
Mitch, you're not going to go do a kid.

Speaker 3 (24:58):
Where it's wet out.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
It seems like a case of lasting first out.

Speaker 3 (25:04):
As a new member of the team. So we thought
we should send you out to because is it Rabina?
Whare is it ox Oxenford?

Speaker 1 (25:14):
Just near Paradise Country. I don't think it's gone overly
far and there has been sightings of it, so.

Speaker 4 (25:20):
Okay, Yeah, so when you find it, you just pick
it up and put it in the back.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
Yeah, take York as your interior.

Speaker 4 (25:28):
You imagine.

Speaker 3 (25:30):
Now, its name's Mary. Well, that sounds cute names. I
wonder if it'll answer answer to Mary if you're calling
out Mary.

Speaker 4 (25:38):
That's actually how just in case you actually get locked
up for.

Speaker 3 (25:42):
Mary calling out for Mary. But we thought maybe well,
I mean, obviously you're not just going to be able
to find it, so maybe you need to have some
some Tasmanian treats. And this is where you come in
thirteen one oh six five. You've got some ideas about
break kill. What might lure? I've road kill if you
can find a possible the la this job gets better
and better is a little task. Thanks Cory, thanks for

(26:04):
speaking up, and just put some put some plastic down
in the in your boot before. We've got some tongs.
We've got tongues in.

Speaker 4 (26:12):
The kitchen, so you pick up the cage.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
Yeah, what about other any like Tasmanian specific like if
it's missing home. Drew Abbos had the idea of some
of the is it James Boges being Cascade.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
Cadbury chocolate used to.

Speaker 3 (26:30):
Tamar Valley. I know the kids love the that's that's
tas May. That's talk about wrong place, Sorry not far enough,
only feeling anything else? What else are they famous? I've
got some red wine?

Speaker 4 (26:48):
I guess is that red wine famous?

Speaker 3 (26:50):
They do have some good.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
Wine Salamanca markets you can buy like drink the wine.

Speaker 3 (26:56):
A lot about a lot of our oysters come out
of oysters. Yeah, some sculpture maybe just just crack open
and does at oysters. Some James Bogues and dead possible.

Speaker 13 (27:09):
I'm looking for narrators.

Speaker 2 (27:14):
This is gonna end well.

Speaker 3 (27:16):
Three bottles of red wine. Alright, so really we legit,
do we? Well, we're going to try and get Mitchell.

Speaker 2 (27:24):
Rested, rollin and in the morning.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
Okay, quick question, because this has been going for a
couple of months. You had did all the testing for
ADHD with Corey's psychologist, psychiatrist JP.

Speaker 3 (27:45):
Is that right, Yeah, one of them.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
Who knows what he's doing, and we're waiting to see
what happened with your diagnosis.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
I know I one had the blood tests and everything,
but we're waiting on because they need reports from your
parents to sort of get an idea because it's very Yeah,
it comes from your parents basically, and so they needed
reports from mum and dad, and Dad keep sending him
emails and stuff and he, yeah, I haven't got anything
from him. So we're going to have to try and

(28:15):
do it without without him.

Speaker 4 (28:17):
Reading JP and then just asking for you.

Speaker 1 (28:19):
He'll be able to say just because I don't know,
maybe this is where I think, Yeah, genetically it's probably
from day I reckon. You know it's interesting and you
know how your phone listens to you. Ever since we've
kind of been having these conversations, often stuff will pop
up for me about ADHD. And one of the biggest

(28:39):
stuff that people talk to me about when I'm out
and about in my life is when we have these
conversations and I've just seen something come up on my
feed today and I guess I want to ask both
of you. I mean, you, as a diagnosed ADHD Corey,
and you potentially give how you managed in school because
this guy is a Psychiatrist's name is doctor Johnny Gonzalez,

(29:03):
and from what he's saying, I don't know any ADHD
kid existed in a classroom.

Speaker 9 (29:10):
I'm a psychiatrist. If my kids had ADHD, here's the
career advice I would give them.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
And it's not what you think. ADHD is not a
focus problem.

Speaker 4 (29:17):
It's an engagement problem.

Speaker 9 (29:18):
Huge difference. Some of the most successful people that I
know have ADHD their line of work tech sales, real estate, medicine,
and they all figured out the same secret, the secret
tap into the chase. Once you're engaged, the hunters on
don't stop until the job gets done. You need jobs
that are high urgency, high novelty. No two days are
the same. Warning though. The trap the administrative work, organizing paperwork.

(29:41):
That's where ADHD careers go to die. Medic icissers can help,
but ADHD is less of a disorder and more of
a mismatch with the environment.

Speaker 3 (29:49):
Fix the environment. That's school, isn't it.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
Yeah, you don't.

Speaker 1 (29:53):
Every day is the same. It's pretty much it's all paperwork,
and it's not allowing you to hyper focus. You have
to change direction.

Speaker 3 (30:01):
All the time.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
And I'm just curious how. I mean, obviously, you with Corey,
sport became a big thing, and so you were then
able to pivot into that one thing you loved. But
how the heck do kids with ADHD exist within our
school system.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
I'm genuinely asking, you're going to sit there for two
hours like straight and just do paperwork? You're right now.

Speaker 4 (30:24):
I don't know. I could be wrong, but I reckon.
I'm pretty close to bang on. I don't reckon. I
lasted a whole class.

Speaker 17 (30:32):
Without either being turned around, moved or put somewhere else
to do work, and I would still just stare at
the wall then, or I would turn around and talk
to people. I don't think I last, I don't reckon.
There was a class where I made a whole class,
like a whole Yeah.

Speaker 3 (30:50):
Was was there ever a subject that you could zone in?

Speaker 10 (30:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 17 (30:56):
All the hands on stuff, yeah, all the stuff without
book work pretty much? Right?

Speaker 4 (31:02):
Yeah? And I know this still Now, I can't get
what's in here on a piece of paper.

Speaker 3 (31:07):
He's pointing to his head.

Speaker 4 (31:08):
To my brain. I get what's in my brain on
a piece of paper.

Speaker 17 (31:12):
In my brain, it all makes so much sense, right,
But then if I go from there to the paper,
it's just it's mumble dumble crap, right, And I'm like,
oh my god, that's not what.

Speaker 4 (31:21):
I was thinking. Like, And that was my whole life
through school.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
So hypothetically and thirteen one oh sixty five, if because
you know, we have a lot of people who engage
with us when we talk about this stuff, if we
could create the ideal school for a kid with ADHD,
because you we do have to learn basic maths English,
Like there are things that you have to be able
to get through life having learnt.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
Yes, but how do you do it?

Speaker 16 (31:48):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (31:49):
Like do you do maths with a soccer ball against
a wall. Do you know what I mean, Like, if
we were to design the ultimate school where kids who
have this superpower could exist, what would be in it?

Speaker 3 (32:04):
Great question? Thirteen one sixty five And look for the
phones are lighting up. People got ideas.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
Parents know that this system doesn't work.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
Robin kids and choreotes.

Speaker 3 (32:14):
In the morning, ADHD kids in schools. It's something that's
I don't know if it's more common than ever, but
it's certainly something that's spoken about more than ever.

Speaker 1 (32:23):
Well, the diagnosis seemed to be like there's now language
around it. Maybe, I mean I think it probably was
always there if it's genetic, of course it was, it
was just handled differently.

Speaker 3 (32:33):
Do you reckon it's getting more severe in kids or
I mean obviously you had a pretty you had a
fair dose of it, Corey, you know what I.

Speaker 11 (32:42):
Mean, like that.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
You didn't get a half dose.

Speaker 4 (32:50):
Very high. Yeah, it's at the top of the bar.

Speaker 17 (32:54):
But yeah, I think it's it's been spoken about a
lot more, which is bringing more people out talking about
it more. And I think it's not you know, parents
and and that they're not accepting the excuses anymore because
it's like, well, we need help because I'm sick of it.
My kid always been in trouble and not learning and
being the issue. Yeah, like you know, he's got ADHD.

(33:18):
Other people getting a lot of help, So why can't
we now find a way to try and help all
kids that struggle to learn? Yes, why don't we help
them out instead of just forcing it upon them?

Speaker 3 (33:28):
And they ended up spending half the day in the office.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
Well, that's in trouble and parents get called.

Speaker 4 (33:32):
So my best friend was the principal, like you know
that that almost still very close to them.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
We can design a class or a school where kids
felt like they were going to be able to learn
but also not in trouble all the time, Kylie of Mitchellton,
What would that class look like?

Speaker 11 (33:49):
So my little boy is also definitely opposed to child
for ADHD. He walked into the pediatrician.

Speaker 7 (33:56):
And he was like, oh, yep, ye, yes, required exactly right.

Speaker 11 (34:03):
And the great thing was that we were very deliberate
about his school choice when he was very young. So
the school he actually goes to, they have this room
called the cabin And basically we had a lot of
trouble dropping him off and then him transitioning from drop
off into classroom. So he gets to go to the cabin,
which is this massive sentsury room where he gets to play,

(34:24):
you know, really intense card games or run around and
do all this kind of thing, and then they transition
him into the classroom rather than me. So there's this
really good way of getting all the wiggles out before that,
and then he has access to that at lunchtime as well.
But when he was getting used to school and sitting
down and writing and all that stuff, he would be
the same. He would talk to someone or he.

Speaker 13 (34:46):
Would get the wiggles and so they would.

Speaker 11 (34:50):
Call the support team and the team would come out
and they would just grab him and then they'd go
and play a game with him or you know, just
get his wiggles out and come back.

Speaker 13 (34:58):
And so.

Speaker 11 (35:00):
How do we see And he's nine, well eight twenty nine,
but he's been on so he's year three. So he's
been at the school now for three years and it's
just been it's a lifesaver. And I have to say
he's thriving.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
He is.

Speaker 11 (35:15):
He has got amazing marks. They do help him in
that when they do his tests and stuff, they will
take him out of the classroom, not so that he
gets special help, but so that if he needs to
stand up and wriggle around and come back to his
testing and sometimes he'll write the answer while he's standing up.

Speaker 3 (35:30):
That's a great school.

Speaker 11 (35:31):
You know where is this magical places. It's on the
north side, It's in Everton Park. The downside is that,
you know, not everyone has access to a private school.
And I think, you know, we are very blessed that
we get to choose to get him to go that school.
But when I tell people sound amazing school in that,

(35:53):
I mean, we're armies, so you know, we are supposed
to move around all the time, and we put us
foot down said absolutely not. Like this kid is not
leaving the school. They even go as far as every
term we have a meeting with our support group teachers.
We all talk about him. We all talk about, you know,
how well he's doing. And you know, there was one

(36:15):
thing I came out of our meeting which was really
wonderful was that he with eighty HG. When they're so little,
they actually struggle to have social skills.

Speaker 13 (36:24):
And so.

Speaker 11 (36:26):
When he does start talking and have like a you know,
like a conversation with a kid about his day or
you know, what he was doing. They don't actually stop him.
Sometimes they let him go and just build that social
skills until they are like, yep, okay, that's enough. Now
we don't want to be disruptive, but they're allowing him
to develop that skill that otherwise he would lack.

Speaker 15 (36:48):
So you know, we could leave schooling.

Speaker 11 (36:50):
But I mean, I have to say he is on medication,
but that was only based on the fact that he
could not socialize. He could not he could not sit
still long enough to have a great conversation with a
kid or even let him play with him. He was
just too hyper focused and then got too emotional about

(37:11):
you know, someone breaking his power or.

Speaker 3 (37:16):
I've seen that. Thank you so much. We might we
might record some of these and have continued this chat
on the podcast because there's so many people that want
to get involved and wouldn't it.

Speaker 1 (37:26):
Be great to find out that there are these amazing
places around Brisbane that actually accommodate kids like that. So yeah,
keep them coming or on the text line to four
oh nine nine seven three eight nine seventh three.

Speaker 3 (37:37):
We've got to get to news when we come back.
Cash or crash thousand bucks for you. Robin Kipp and
couriotes in the morning talking to parents with ADHD kids
and saying, what's the ultimate school? How do we how
do we design the ultimate school for ADHD kids, of
which there seems to be more every day.

Speaker 1 (37:53):
Yeah, because I found this thing on my feed, someone's
asked on the text line who was it. It's psychiatrist
doctor Johnny on Zalez, if you want to follow him.
But he's basically saying school is not designed for kids
with ADHD, not the conventional system that we're using now.
So I'm like, okay, well let's design a different school.
Nadia of grain Bank, what do you think.

Speaker 7 (38:15):
Hey, guys, how I asked, Well, my son just turned forward.
We'll be turning fourteen in July, and this year we
decided to actually pull him out of school. So he's
been diagnosed for about five years. We even changed schools
thinking that that would help, and it did for a
little bit, and then they kind of just gave up.
It was put him in the two hard basket, suspended

(38:36):
just over the smallest thing, sent home because he was
too much like it's not fair on the kids, Like
we're trying to provide his parents to do the best
that we can. There's just not enough support in public.

Speaker 11 (38:47):
Schools, the truth.

Speaker 7 (38:50):
So we pulled him out and he's now full time
working with myself and my crew, and it's been great.
He's less stressed, anxious, he's not medicated, and that's a
personal family thing. I don't believe in it. If it
got to the point where it was so stressful for
him and this wasn't working, we were consider it, but

(39:12):
we were pushed. From the age of seventh grade two
he was told consistently told, oh, you have ADHD, you
have ADHD. You need to be medicated to make things easier.

Speaker 5 (39:25):
And I don't think that's fair, no, And that's what.

Speaker 17 (39:28):
I don't want to push that at all, because I
actually wasn't medicated from I think it was grade seven
onwards until only a few years ago, so.

Speaker 3 (39:37):
I didn't need to start it. And then you went.

Speaker 17 (39:39):
I started, didn't like it because it changed me, and
my parents didn't like it, and then I stopped. I
stopped all medication. I actually didn't need it because I
just found a way to make it work. I guess
I found what worked for me and I started being able.

Speaker 1 (39:54):
To was that though, like I mean, I think that
were with a lot of other parents.

Speaker 4 (39:58):
That's the funny thing.

Speaker 17 (39:59):
Like most psychoacist John paul Ko, he just said, it's
funny because everyone's different, Like no one has the same
way of trying to, you know, deal with it, Like
in the same way.

Speaker 4 (40:11):
Everyone's different in this world. And he said, you just
found a way so it works for you.

Speaker 13 (40:17):
And he said, don't have a choice.

Speaker 7 (40:19):
You get fined if you don't send them to school,
and if you send them to school, then you're stopping
your doublack I potentially could have lost my job. I'm
grateful that I've got such an understanding boss and we're
a small company that can afford to have me leave.
But you know, in those big industries, parents are really struggling.
I know a few parents who have nearly lost jobs.
It's really scary for the kids as well as parents.

Speaker 3 (40:42):
Yeah, when the drop off takes so long because they
don't want to go with it, and get the phone
call at one thirty, it says, you know, you've got
to come pick them up. They can't, we can't. It
just sounds like the.

Speaker 1 (40:50):
Kids need a chance to be themselves and for that
to be respected within the confines of respect and learning.

Speaker 17 (40:59):
Yeah, like a weird one that he believes it could
have been a big thing for me. It was slowing
down and just breathing. I remember doing it, like breathing
really big, deep in, slow out, and it actually slowed
my brain down. It didn't last forever, but like that
was a way that I used to concentrate, you know,
so I listen to the teachers and the sports teachers.

(41:22):
It was mainly sport I learned in Like, you know,
if I wanted to play, I had to sit still.
And the best way I sat still.

Speaker 4 (41:28):
I've worked that was some of breathing down, which then
slowed everything else down.

Speaker 7 (41:32):
For me.

Speaker 3 (41:32):
You just needed to want it enough.

Speaker 4 (41:34):
Yeah, as well, I had to find what I wanted
the most, and that was sports.

Speaker 3 (41:39):
We've actually taken a couple of callers for the podcast
talking about some schools in Brisbane that are changing things
and it's really encouraging some of the some of the
new things that are that are happening at school. So
make sure you check out the podcast Robin in the morning.
You want to join Corey and I in the Big
Ride Brisbane to Gold Coasts. It's one hundred kilometers for cancer.

Speaker 13 (42:02):
It is.

Speaker 17 (42:03):
Yeah, it's a great cause, yeah, it's it's just it's
just raising money for research and trying to find cures
for cancer.

Speaker 4 (42:10):
And yeah, it's it's it's great.

Speaker 17 (42:13):
It runs from i think from May all the way
through to August and then the big Yeah, the big
rides in.

Speaker 3 (42:19):
In August, and so there's plenty of time for you
to train. There's it's a really safe ride too. They
block off a lot of the roads.

Speaker 1 (42:26):
So do you go down the bikeway?

Speaker 3 (42:27):
Where do you do?

Speaker 13 (42:27):
You go?

Speaker 17 (42:29):
The freeway sixteen, so sitting eighteen k of the bus lane,
the bus they close out for the morning for us
and then volunteers for the rest of the way, blocking
off traffic, closing lanes, like there's parts of.

Speaker 4 (42:43):
The road on the on the streets just off the
highway shut for the cyclist in the morning. And yeah,
it's it's it's really good. I think they get only
four thousand riders.

Speaker 1 (42:55):
Oh wow, most of them finished.

Speaker 4 (42:57):
Everyone finishes. Oh well, yeah, if you're if you don't
sort of crash or have an accident.

Speaker 17 (43:03):
But then also if you don't train like Kip did
last year, he also seize up, which which makes sense
because one hundred k it's.

Speaker 10 (43:12):
A long way.

Speaker 3 (43:13):
It's like four you know, it's four hours of pedaling.

Speaker 4 (43:16):
Well that's three for someone that actually trains. Yeah, if
you practice, can be doing three any bike rides.

Speaker 3 (43:23):
No, not since I took WRAPH on that city rail,
which was.

Speaker 17 (43:29):
So last year, I didn't have I did pedal, so
I had normal pedals, no clippings, no clippings, nothing, no straps,
just pedal, pedal the whole way.

Speaker 3 (43:37):
And he sees that not me, but you had all
the year because that's what you do. Yeah, it was
like clipping, slipping, pedal.

Speaker 4 (43:45):
Pushing him, actually pushed him some of the ways to
push pushing. Don't you start we'll pushing.

Speaker 17 (43:51):
I gave you part of I gave you half of
my food because I'm like, come on, mate, stop cracking.

Speaker 3 (43:55):
It gets throwing me bananas like a monkey at the zoo.
But this year going to be different, and so yes,
get training now if you want to join us on
the ride, I'm.

Speaker 4 (44:04):
Actually going to get some proper ones because he field time,
we get the clippings. Yeah, it makes it twenty easier.

Speaker 3 (44:10):
You pull up, you can pull up as well as
push down. But that was my problem is when I
started cramping, is I couldn't pull up all push down
without cramping. Every movement was a problem.

Speaker 4 (44:20):
I'm going to go to be mate over a giant
your pilly yep, and try and get set up. Just
some practice on a practice first, and then.

Speaker 3 (44:28):
Yes, so should you. I'd like to get a peloton
and then that I could sit at the back of.
Then I'd be right, you know what I mean? Like
you see on the tour to front with the form
an arrow and there's a whole bunch of riders cutting
through the breeze, and then you sit towards the back
of the end in the middle of dragged a lot.

Speaker 1 (44:44):
It's not a slow enough.

Speaker 3 (44:48):
You wait, you whether your little body, ye, you should
bring that. I'll bring the I've actually going to bring that.
If I struggle, you can tell me the last twenty games.

Speaker 2 (45:06):
Robin Kith and Coyotes in the morning.
