Speaker 4 (00:33):
Good Day.

Speaker 5 (00:35):
It's Robie Kipp Now with Correo. It's on demand. The
podcast coming up at halftime of the podcast. We've got
a little bit that didn't get to her today when
we called our mums for Mother's Day.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Yeah, we called Sylvia because you just did them most
So Sylvia wrote a poem for Mother's Day that she
sent to Kip so that he could then possibly send
it back so he wrings her and owns it. And
of course that's backed a massive conversation about who's the
favorite child because clearly it can't be Hire.

Speaker 5 (01:04):
It can't be Kenneth. Well we'll find out and halfway.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
Row the podcast.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Give Me the Care with Robin Kith and Coreots. This
is Confessions for Cash p I.

Speaker 5 (01:26):
Dave's in the studio with us.

Speaker 6 (01:27):
Welcome mate, Good morning guys.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
We had a.

Speaker 5 (01:30):
Mission for you. We spoke to Isaiah who has a
daughter that he's never met and per chance he walked
past her in the shopping center because he remembers his ex.
They had an agreement that they were never going to
speak again, see each other again. He was going to
have nothing to do with his daughter's life, and I
guess seeing her in the shops has changed his mind
on it. So he had no idea if he could

(01:53):
find this ex partner of his.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
And so yesterday we put you guys on together and
sent you off. Have you found anything and if.

Speaker 7 (02:02):
So, what?

Speaker 8 (02:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (02:03):
We definitely found exactly what we needed to. So we've
got the information that Oziah wants, so we'll be happy
to give that to him.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Is it that easy to find himself like that?

Speaker 9 (02:14):
Not?

Speaker 6 (02:14):
Usually some obviously harder than the others, but this one
wasn't very hard at all. Put it this way, I
won't be getting Investigator of the Year. It was pretty easy.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
Well, let's get a zire up from Logan. Hey, Isiah morning. Yes,
so we promised you that we would get p I
Dave on the case, and he has done that. How
do you feel about that?

Speaker 7 (02:39):
I didn't think it was going to be hard for him.

Speaker 9 (02:40):
Man, hearing his track record with you guys, I'm scared.
I'm absolutely scared, prapless. I don't know what to do.
Like I said, we made that promise not to contact
each other. But I'm sort of breaking that promises. There's

(03:02):
not something I wanted to do. Twelve thirteen years is
a long time, as you guys said, and has changed,
and I sort of hope there is that chance.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
What information have you actually got, p I Dave, So yeah,
we've got everything.

Speaker 6 (03:17):
Yeah, I'm happy to give a phone number in this regard,
and if he wants to make contact via text, for
a phone call, whatever he thinks is the best option.
Just given these circumstances, I really think this is probably
the best and safest option for everyone, rather than giving
an address or anything like that.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Oh yeah, yeah, And I think for Isaiah it's more
do you reach out and ask that question or you're
better off just leave it how it is, you know.
And that's a hard one to answer.

Speaker 5 (03:46):
But is that where you're sitting? Is that where your
mind's at, Isaiah?

Speaker 9 (03:50):
Yeah, I was only ever going to ask for the
phone number we spoke, and it was not going to
ansk more just the phone that would be the safest
way to make that contact. I'm probably going to sit
on it for a couple of days and over the
weekend and sort of just see what to do with it.
I I love. You need to respect to someone about

(04:12):
it to see what the best decision is, because I
my head's just really all over the place with it
at the moment.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
You can't have got this far and not really surely.

Speaker 9 (04:23):
I don't know how her reaction is going to be
because it was a lifetime promise and the type of
admiral woman she is, and you know she was an
amazing woman when I knew her, and I know she
was going to be an amazing mother and everything else
like that. I just don't know.

Speaker 5 (04:38):
The question you're really asking her is if you're saying, hey,
I've I've had to change your heart, but have you YEA.
Until she knows that you're interested, then you'll never know.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
No.

Speaker 9 (04:52):
No, I know that.

Speaker 7 (04:53):
One of my things my dad always said is if
you can expect the answer no, then there shouldn't be
scared to ask the question. So I'll go to my
dad's words, I think, and I may phone call them
just see what she says, or even just a text message.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
First, Isaiah, you have the information you originally told this
because you've not told another soul, and now we've provided
you with the information to get a definitive answer.

Speaker 5 (05:24):
But you said, mate, you wanted a couple of days
to think about it. Don't let us pressure.

Speaker 9 (05:27):
It's more finding the courage and finding the words put
in a message.

Speaker 5 (05:34):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Also talk to the people closer too, like they know
your best trust me, family, friends, your therapists. They're always
they're in your best interest. So if you're always unsure,
you've got to ask someone, and you've got to make
sure it's going to be the right one.

Speaker 9 (05:48):
To have your number.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
Course reason I am the way I am is I
see my own I see, I'll get it for you.

Speaker 5 (06:01):
Thank you, os Troce Investigations. If you ever need someone's help,
I David is the King, Thank you, Isiah.

Speaker 9 (06:08):
Thank you everyone appreciate everything you would luck mate thinks guys.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
Now with this.

Speaker 5 (06:16):
Podcast, coorious position is microphone at the other end of
the studio. Be brave, Be brave, Corey. It says, I've
got your back.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
Yes, you're back.

Speaker 5 (06:28):
I'm going to back you.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
Let me let me just preface this conversation was this
morning before we came on air. These guys were just
carrying on about Mother's Day, and so the team have said,
go on, then sit out into the real world, say
it to Brisbane and see if anyone supports you thirteen
one oh six five, if the words coming out of

(06:50):
these two mounds it's something you agree with?

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Okay, well all, I just I just wanted to ask
the question is is there like a limit or like
not a limit, but is there like how far do
you go here?

Speaker 4 (07:06):
With Mother's Day?

Speaker 1 (07:07):
It's gotten out.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Of control, like you know, birthdays, Valentine's Day, Christmas.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
I feel like there's it's got to be a budget that.

Speaker 5 (07:19):
Should be because didn't it used to be about breakfast
in bed and made some flowers? And now all of
a sudden it's turned into like the end of sale
of the century where you've got a prize, pools, everything's
coming out. Do you want a holiday?

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 5 (07:33):
There's some new shade that's everything.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
Necklaces and rings and bracelets and all this other stuff.
I thought flowers was like the going thing these days. Okay,
And just a bit of love and some cuteness from
your kids and yeah.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
Aren't they the gift?

Speaker 4 (07:52):
Like that's the kids which we helped provide.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
No, the kids are if you sort them, you can't
just like, no, you have to actually be actively involved.

Speaker 5 (08:03):
But don't you think it's getting out of control?

Speaker 1 (08:05):
No, I don't.

Speaker 4 (08:07):
But you know you're not the one You're the one receiving.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
Of course.

Speaker 5 (08:12):
Yeah, this is a very self serving for you to
of course agreed.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
With I'm having with the old jocks and socks that yeah,
oh that was equivalent flowers jocks and socks and flowers.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
Sure, I mean, what what what's going on here? You've
been required to I feel like there's something else going
on behind the scenes, but I don't understand.

Speaker 5 (08:35):
For me, it's it's Naomi's first Mother's Day, and so
I mean apparently it's like it's jewelry.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
Okay, well, sure.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
I mean I shocked last night began goes, so what
did you get?

Speaker 10 (08:52):
Excuse me, because she wants a prize pool. She just
wants something for myself, the normal stuff.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Okay, Well, I don't understand if you have the capacity, right,
and a lot of people don't. So therefore, let's work
within the budgets that we're dealing with. Yes, if you
have the capacity and you can make someone else feel better,
what is the problem.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
It's not like it's not an expensive thing, it's just
more I.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
Can't be bothered what is that it?

Speaker 2 (09:23):
I thought just flowers and some cars from the kids
and stuff like that, and presents from the kids.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Is what the presents for the kids?

Speaker 7 (09:32):
No?

Speaker 2 (09:33):
From the kids?

Speaker 1 (09:33):
Okay? And have you bought them?

Speaker 5 (09:35):
No?

Speaker 2 (09:35):
They made them at school and bought them.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
Okay. So you want no active in.

Speaker 11 (09:41):
The cards?

Speaker 8 (09:43):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (09:44):
And the I'll give it in the flowers.

Speaker 5 (09:46):
Yeah, that should be enough.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
Well what a giveaway?

Speaker 5 (09:51):
Thirty one six five? If anyone's brave enough to stand.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
With us, what do you say?

Speaker 5 (09:57):
I'm saying it's gotten out of control. I'm saying it.
Flowers should be all we have to shout flowers, cards,
breakfast again.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
To be her first Mother's Day?

Speaker 5 (10:06):
Okay, it's going to have hundreds?

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Yes, as you shall continue. I mean, how many children.

Speaker 5 (10:13):
Are you expecting next year?

Speaker 10 (10:15):
There's another Mother's Day?

Speaker 5 (10:16):
They keep coming around. How many gifts you got to give?

Speaker 1 (10:19):
As many is required? But happy life?

Speaker 5 (10:23):
Why do I have to make someone else happy for
me to be happy?

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Because not everything you do has to be self serving.

Speaker 4 (10:29):
I know you haven't worked that out yet.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
I know that is your greatest life lesson.

Speaker 5 (10:34):
Yes, can we start now? Can we swivel back towards Corey?
On this we started.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
I'm standing behind him.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
Way I'm not.

Speaker 8 (10:46):
It's done.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
I just forget this.

Speaker 5 (10:53):
If we've touched a nerve or maybe you want to
stand behind us.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
As well, let's goodness me, they need none now.

Speaker 5 (11:06):
Podcast, we've been talking about Mother's Day, how things have
gotten out of control. I will say, my mate up
the road, Charlie. Charlie did what a lot of dad's doing.
He forgot on the first. He didn't realize that the
first Mother's Day is a very important one and he
didn't get anything for Hannah, and so he has made
up for it this year. But unfortunately he screwed up

(11:29):
because he got a Soak bath House appointment. But put
it in their joint diary.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
Oh so, as I say, when it comes to Mother's Day,
work with in capacity.

Speaker 5 (11:40):
So I mean it's a great gift. But she knows
that it's coming on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
I would do that. Yeah, I love so we do.

Speaker 5 (11:48):
And if you've forgotten, don't panic, Soap bath House.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
We'll look after you.

Speaker 5 (11:51):
If it's not too late to make her feel special,
head to soakbath House dot com dot AUF you've forgotten
what's happening on Sunday?

Speaker 1 (11:58):
Now Christine of Capelaba has a great gift idea for you, Kip.
I love this and I did this as well. What
is it Christine?

Speaker 8 (12:06):
Hi guys, good morning Kip Whiteman on youay, I.

Speaker 12 (12:15):
Do have a slight reprieve for you.

Speaker 8 (12:17):
Yes, the idea involved your beautiful daughter Sienna. How about
you get some paint and paint her hands and put
a print on a card and put happy first Mother's
Day on it. Putt you next to nothing and it'll
be something for treasure for the rest of her life.

Speaker 5 (12:35):
That is a great idea. Actually, that's lovely.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
Do you know what, Christine. I did that for each
of my boys for Father's Day and it was on
a cardboard and it was for their first Father's Day.
And now those cards are in frame. Really yes, and
I kept them and they're so beautiful. And I have
photos of each of my children completely covered in paint.

Speaker 13 (12:58):
There's something that you can never get back again.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
It's true. That's a great idea. It's well done.

Speaker 5 (13:03):
Thanks Christy, appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
Doesn't mean you'll do it because then you'll have to work.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
That's look enough.

Speaker 5 (13:10):
Yes, you should clay make it out of clay.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
My goodness, what did you say?

Speaker 2 (13:16):
Make him do a little bit more worse?

Speaker 7 (13:17):
She can't.

Speaker 5 (13:18):
She can't make you doing? You do it? You do
it and shove her hand.

Speaker 14 (13:25):
That's cute.

Speaker 5 (13:27):
Now you're already, Robin.

Speaker 4 (13:31):
Now with Choreos the podcast.

Speaker 12 (13:37):
With the Robin, Kip and Coreo.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
It's your weekly Joseph.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
Hey, Brizzy, Coreya and how good are public Holidays? It
was a short week this week, but we still started
it right away by getting your Mather thoughts.

Speaker 4 (13:53):
Thoughts from the right on Marmo with cor.

Speaker 12 (13:59):
Can you cry underwater?

Speaker 1 (14:01):
Okay, which one of us do you think can answer
that question?

Speaker 5 (14:03):
Do you know, Robin? You can't?

Speaker 9 (14:05):
What if you try it?

Speaker 1 (14:06):
Yeah, because one of the things I do when I'm
really upset is I swim.

Speaker 5 (14:10):
I thought of you one head up to breathe.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Oh, we want to see the Magic Ground was over
the long weekend and Ezra Man went to support the Broncos,
and I was not happy about the crowd's reaction to
seeing Ezra on the big screen.

Speaker 1 (14:25):
That's a lot of bolling.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
Everyone makes mistakes, and everyone that that game when they booted.
Everyone's pretty much saying to me that they've never made
a mistake and they don't think he deserves a second chance.
I just really hope he comes out and shows people
that he is sorry. This is just my opinion and
how I feel in the situation.

Speaker 1 (14:41):
Allison wants to take you up on it.

Speaker 13 (14:43):
I'm thick of hearing. Poor Ezra. He made an entitled
decision to be under the influence and then drive. If
you don't want your face up and you don't want
people to boot because they're upset with you, don't go
to the game.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
He's being confident. He's been facing everything.

Speaker 13 (14:56):
What do you mean, he's been doing everything. He's just
been getting punished for what he did. He hasn't even
come out and said sorry to me.

Speaker 12 (15:02):
He did what one He deserves a boot.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
He deserves it.

Speaker 5 (15:05):
When are they going to stop doing How many times
do you see his face and bill in before it's enough?

Speaker 13 (15:10):
I think the victims of what happened are over it already.
Let him get out there and actually make.

Speaker 12 (15:14):
It up to the public.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
That's what I wanted to do.

Speaker 14 (15:16):
But what's really sad is all the footballers, all of
his friends seem to think it's okay.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
I don't think it's okay at all. I just know
everyone makes mistakes. A lot of people get second chances,
and it's what they do with that second chance, to
me that matters. We had another massive confession.

Speaker 9 (15:32):
I cheated on my wife early in our marriage and
it resulted in a child who is now approximately.

Speaker 4 (15:39):
Twelve years old.

Speaker 9 (15:41):
The person I cheated on my wife with her and
I agreed that the child would grow up not knowing
her father.

Speaker 7 (15:50):
I think I do at some stage want to try
to meet her.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
We got your hotel horror stories.

Speaker 12 (15:59):
My husband's a bit of a snoop leasure to say
he found a pair of crusty knickers.

Speaker 11 (16:04):
Oh, one of the worst would have been on the vanity,
a used condo. I'm making all of its juices.

Speaker 2 (16:14):
Brother and I had an idea for kids who loved
the game of rugby league. Rugby league it's it's a
fun game, especially under that thirteen year old age. I've
just noticed a trend Like kids, they just don't seem
to be enjoying it as much as I remember I
did when I was when I was younger at that age, and.

Speaker 4 (16:32):
That's what we did.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
We have fun. We wanted to play with their friends.

Speaker 4 (16:34):
You know, I'd love to.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
Do something where I can get a couple of teams together,
Northern South or something like that. I just want kids
that love the game. They just want to have fun.

Speaker 4 (16:42):
And just and just have a crack. Chris had it
well in to points.

Speaker 8 (16:44):
I absolutely love the idea, Corey.

Speaker 11 (16:46):
I actually have a name already. Put it out Dear
Cory's little League.

Speaker 4 (16:50):
I like it. That's it for your weekly.

Speaker 2 (16:55):
Have a great weekend and go to the Broncos against
the Bunnies.

Speaker 3 (16:58):
Robbie Kids Now with corys the podcast.

Speaker 5 (17:03):
Halfway through the podcast, this is a little bit we
didn't get to on the show today where we spoke
to my mum Sylvia and Robin pressed here to find
out who her favorite child was.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
Now still be able to because it's Mother's Day on Sunday,
you are allowed to answer this question honestly.

Speaker 5 (17:21):
Yes, here, I am.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
Who's your favorite child?

Speaker 7 (17:24):
Right now?

Speaker 11 (17:26):
I'm the mom who loves all three with all my heart.

Speaker 12 (17:30):
Absolutely, that's the truth.

Speaker 13 (17:33):
They all have favorite things that I love about.

Speaker 9 (17:35):
Them, though.

Speaker 5 (17:36):
Who has the most favorite things?

Speaker 2 (17:38):
Name?

Speaker 4 (17:38):
What about Kick?

Speaker 5 (17:42):
Tell the truth, mom, who's your favorite?

Speaker 11 (17:44):
Turns up?

Speaker 12 (17:44):
You know what I'm going to give Kippy that he
turns up?

Speaker 13 (17:47):
If I've got anything really really pressing that I really
needed him to be out kick turns up.

Speaker 5 (17:53):
I agree with that.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
He is absolutely reliable, But can I put them in
order for you?

Speaker 15 (18:00):
Lisa born Luke, he's the baby, and then.

Speaker 4 (18:14):
Whose greatest quality is being there showing up.

Speaker 12 (18:19):
I'm a middle child, so Kim and I have a
deep identification.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
That just means that you know, he'll understand that he's
not your favorite.

Speaker 5 (18:30):
Understanding that's what it is.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
Hearing it back and still.

Speaker 4 (18:40):
You know it at all.

Speaker 5 (18:41):
I know it's true. I know that.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
The same.

Speaker 5 (18:45):
My dad's favorite is definitely Luke the youngest, because Dad
was the youngest. You're definitely not Luke, I reckon. I
might pip Lisa with Dad. Hell, they're too similar.

Speaker 7 (19:02):
Up the class.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
But it's his daughter.

Speaker 5 (19:04):
Yeah, beautiful that it's up there. She's the reason he's bald.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
Just dress the eldest daughter, eldest child and the daughter. Yeah,
Paul would be pulling his hair out a long time ago.

Speaker 5 (19:16):
He wasn't ready for that.

Speaker 4 (19:18):
So he wasn't ready for So you're number two by default.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
I was going to say that.

Speaker 15 (19:26):
That's the only one.

Speaker 5 (19:27):
It's the only one where I'm on the padium. Oh well,
it's always my own kids.

Speaker 4 (19:37):
Now Choo the podcast with Robin, Kip and Coriot.

Speaker 5 (19:48):
So this is where we take a film and yes
and a song and are very appropriate for Mother's Day
on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
Yes, because we are doing Mama Mia Mama Maya is
a feel good aber inspired musical set on a Greek
island where a young bride to be Sophie invites three
of her mother's former lovers to her wedding in hopes
of discovering which one.

Speaker 5 (20:14):
Is her father.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
Sophie will be played by me, but in the movie
Amanda Seyfried, Yes, it's the character Sam is going to
be played by Kip, who in the movie is played
by Pierce Brosnan.

Speaker 5 (20:25):
Obviously, choose anyone else.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
Donna is our very own choreotes, which in the movie
is played by three time Oscar winner Meryl's Streep like
for like, and the narrator is our wonderful newsreader Alana. Hello, guys,
let us set the scene.

Speaker 14 (20:48):
In this scene, after the three men arrive at the island,
Sophie shows them into the attic that they will be
secretly staying in so her mother doesn't find out.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
Okay, when I send the invites out. It was a
long shot you would even reply. And now you've come
all this way for a wedding. Surely there must have
been some special reason to be here, like a siren call.

Speaker 4 (21:11):
Maybe.

Speaker 5 (21:13):
Oh you really are a little minx. You know that
you're just like your mother. I'm glad my boys haven't
met you. They'd never recover. You have sons, Oh, yes too,
and someday I'd like to bring them here.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
I have one.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
Character like you used to bring my mother.

Speaker 14 (21:38):
Outside. The distant humming of mother Donna drifts through the
air as she prepares the property for the wedding. Hearing
the voice. Hearing her voice for the first time in years,
all three men stand up, visibly excited and begin walking
toward the door, keep bumming.

Speaker 5 (21:56):
No, it's Donna.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
No, no, no, no, no, no, listen, listen. She can't know.
I'm gonna go. Please stay. Promise me you'll not tell
anyone I invited you.

Speaker 5 (22:07):
Okay, promise, it's a promise.

Speaker 1 (22:11):
Sophie leaves.

Speaker 14 (22:12):
However, her plan of her mother not finding out didn't work.
It's done a spot through a window the three men
she was with so many years ago, and naturally breaks
into song.

Speaker 4 (22:22):
Nice, I was cheated by you, and I think you
know when? So I've made of my mind it must

(22:45):
come to an end. Look at me? Now? Will I
ever learned?

Speaker 10 (22:52):
I don't know how, but it suddenly lose control.

Speaker 4 (22:58):
There's a fire within my sole. Just one looking knocking?

Speaker 7 (23:03):
Hear it?

Speaker 4 (23:04):
Bill ring One?

Speaker 2 (23:05):
Mother cannot forget everything?

Speaker 10 (23:08):
Well, Mia, here I go again, Mama?

Speaker 4 (23:14):
How can I a sister? Mama? Mia? There's a show again, Mama?
Just how much I missed you? Yes? Not Boin is
the day we find out why? Why? Indeed? I haven't
let you go, Mama, Mia. Now I really know, Mama,

(23:37):
how shout out and let you go? Ad? Oh?

Speaker 3 (23:44):
Maryl mar yohoy?

Speaker 7 (23:48):
No you know.

Speaker 4 (23:51):
Rob and Kids Now with Corey podcast. Oh you scame
a handle Cory's Little.

Speaker 5 (24:02):
Le Corey's Little League. So Coreya has come up with
an idea to bring the fun back to rugby league,
particularly for kids, because he remembers it so fondly growing
up up in the bush. Where were you, Bill a Wheeler?

Speaker 2 (24:15):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (24:17):
Yeah, okay, yes, and so you loved it and you
want to bring the fun back. So you're putting together
this Corey's Little League where we're going to get a
couple of teams, someone from the North, someone from the South.

Speaker 1 (24:27):
Under thirteens girls included.

Speaker 5 (24:29):
Yeah, and just have fun and have fun.

Speaker 2 (24:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (24:31):
Okay, so you can register right now a Kiss ninety
seven to three dot com dot au if you want
to be part of it, and you're thinking, we'll play
the game at a place that is very close to
you at South Slogan Magpies.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
Is that right, Yes, at Davis Park.

Speaker 4 (24:43):
Okay, so my South.

Speaker 2 (24:46):
Well, in your life and careers, you always have sort
of tough times and low moments, and for me that
was twenty twenty one, and to be honest, I was
just stuck in my own world and my own ways
and just didn't listen to people and wasn't asked for
help and I ended up getting dropped because of it.

Speaker 5 (25:05):
And what you were just in your own head.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
Yeah, I just it's like I just didn't think doing
anything wrong, and you know, I wasn't realizing that I
wasn't doing all the same preparation and same stuff that
I was doing years before. And with the Bronx losing it, yeah,
we were playing really bad, and yeah, I was in
the blame for everything, and I think all that's just
really caught up. And it wasn't until I got dropped.

(25:29):
I went back to Souse, souselgo Magpies, and I was done,
Like I was, really I was ready to retire. Really, yeah,
I just I've been through a lot. I was sick
of the mental battle with Rugby League and a few
other things in the background happened, and yeah, I ended
up going back to Souse and I really thought my

(25:49):
career was done. I was at that stage I was actually.

Speaker 1 (25:52):
Content with it.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
I really was.

Speaker 5 (25:53):
Yeah, having to say say farewell, be done.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
Pretty much and I went back there. The coach at
the time, Steve Brother, I remember after the Trials that
I played with him, he had a chat with me
one on one. He said, mate, what are you doing?
He said, what are you actually here for? I said, oh,
just you know, I don't think I can do it
anymore like I used to. And he said, but why, like,
you know, what I bring isn't good enough? And and

(26:19):
he said, well I think it is. And he said
you know what you what you've built your career on.
He said, you do it so well and so much
better than other wingers do in this game. Still now,
he said there's no reason why you can't be back
at that top level and one of the best in
the game. And and he said, I can tell you
right now, this team doesn't want you here, he said

(26:42):
out reason. He said, they want you, they love you,
but they don't want you to be wasting your career,
you know, playing for a Q Cup team. You're way
better than that. And he said, like, stop just going
along with the ride. And and we want to help
you get back because I didn't want to intrude in
their game plan and world. I just wanted to be
a part of their team. And and and he said,

(27:04):
so I want you to get back. He said, that's
our job is now. He said, we all see it
in you like it will happen. And he said we
want to help and he did. And all, honestly, eight
rounds in I think it was seven, seven games are
playing with them. It was a game against winter Manly
and if I'm honest, it was the best game of

(27:25):
footy I had played for sixteen months. And I remember
after the game, Steve and I met in the middle
of the field and we just both just went, you're back,
and I sit on back and had a cuddle and
we both just got a motion. I'm was like, what
just happened? And He's like, all this hard work it's
paying off. And it's just because if I didn't have

(27:47):
that conversation with him, or if he didn't go out
of his own way and the team didn't didn't do
all that for me, I still got no idea where
I'd be. And he really did save my career because
people close to me, they knew I was done.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
Yeah, so oh, let's talk to him, Let's get him up.

Speaker 5 (28:03):
Yep, Yeah, all right, we're going to come back because
Steve's been listening to all that. Going to come back
and chat with Steve right after this. I'm kiss ninety
seven three Ron now with.

Speaker 4 (28:16):
The podcast scheme of Cory's literally.

Speaker 12 (28:28):
Breatha.

Speaker 5 (28:28):
You got to say, mate, I do Kip, how are
you very good? So this is Steve brethaton. He is
the CEO of South Logan Magpies and Corey was just
telling us a story from twenty twenty one when he
got dropped down to Q Cup. Steve was the coach
of the team at the time and his career Esteve.

Speaker 11 (28:49):
Yeah, I think he saved his own career with with
the work that he did it just needed a little
prod long but very touching to hear those words. And
I do remember the game we've nicknamed that corner h corner.
He scored a try in the far corner from the
truck panet win them and actually it was the first
game they'd lost that year, they'd won ten in a
row or something like that. Yeah, yeah, so yeah, you

(29:15):
did it yourself, Goud. That's all I'll say, mate.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
Thanks, Yeah, Steve, tell me what you think about Corey
because clearly he sees you as someone that was you know,
that really is fundamental to who he is as a
human being. But you must see also a really great guy,
not just a footy player.

Speaker 11 (29:34):
I think it stems from his upbringing. And everyone knows
that he's a bush kid, grew up in the bush
west of Rockhampton, and you know the way he was
brought up with some with some good ethics and and
done what he did in the game. You don't you
don't lose any of that. Yes, you go through some
hard times and every now and again you lose your way,

(29:55):
but you don't ever lose what your ethics are in life.
And he's obviously got good runs and you don't do
what he's done in his life and is actually transitioning
well out of footing now and doing what he's doing
on the radio. And the willingness to help kids. You
see something with the kids and want to get on
board and try and help that. You know, we get
players that come to our club all the time through

(30:16):
affiliations and the career type stuff, and it's our job
to try and help them be the best that they
can be as well. So to try and help in
this part of his life. Yeah, I said yes to
it straight away and we can't wait for.

Speaker 5 (30:30):
It unreal Okay, so what do you think? Yes, so yeah,
what do we know so far as far as getting
this game together. We want to put on a little
exhibition game with some kids eleven twelve years old. So
you think we can do it around one of the
South's games.

Speaker 11 (30:44):
Yeah, And so obviously the story that he told they're
about playing at Winham and having that realization and that
was the game. I thought there was no better time
to do it than we got win them at Davies
on the fifteenth of June, which is a Sunday. It's
Old Boys' Day as well. Both how women and men
will be televised on KO. Yeah, so it'll be a

(31:08):
big day Bronco and things like that. So what they're
going to go activation, So Bronco will come and yeah,
lot of people hanging around. So it'll be a very
big day for us here at the club. And I
thought no better chance and to give those kids that
that do sign up and experience of playing before our
first grade and then playing again at half time of

(31:30):
our first grade game.

Speaker 5 (31:31):
Yeah good. Yeah that's around Origin too, so there's no
is there no one a roll that weekend. So this
will be an absolutely massive games to be a pack
stadium for you guys.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
Yeah yeah, jeez, thanks mate, Thanks man. That's going to be. Yeah,
that's a huge weekend. Like it's a half and half
round I think.

Speaker 5 (31:48):
Yeah, so okay around I believe by Oh cool.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
It's especially been a Sunday game Yeah in in Brisbane
on Yeah at two o'clock or two I think they
usually are those games, aren't they? Yep?

Speaker 11 (32:02):
Yeah, two ten. We'll be kid off, so the kids
play about one forty five. They'll play their first twenty
minutes and then we'll try my to get at half
time and we'll get a few of we'll get a
few of our a guys to mingle with the kids
and give him an experience of a lost time.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
Well he's got to be big of course, little league.

Speaker 5 (32:25):
You could save all of our careers.

Speaker 11 (32:30):
Just going through the road.

Speaker 5 (32:34):
That's awesome, real thanks, thanks, Steve.

Speaker 11 (32:37):
Not always a pleasure. I love what you're doing, mate,
and can't be more than happy to jump on board
with it and get it done, sir, forward to appreciate.

Speaker 9 (32:46):
It now with Gias.

Speaker 1 (32:52):
Brook A Birtdell, Hey Roberin, Hi, Now Mother's Day? Are
you sordid?

Speaker 12 (32:58):
I have never been. I found out I was brgnant
with twins after my ex and I broke up. Shout
out to Kevy is the best co parent. But I
have never actually had a Mother's Day other than by
myself to still good from giving the kids for money
their first year of prep. The twins was last year

(33:18):
and I actually gave them twenty dollars each and the
other months were like what And I said, look, I'd
never get so you've had something.

Speaker 5 (33:27):
So you've had like six or seven years without a
proper Mother's Day.

Speaker 12 (33:31):
Yeah, no, I've never had a Mother's Day.

Speaker 1 (33:32):
Why doesn't he do something just doesn't think about it.

Speaker 12 (33:36):
He's actually taking the kids to his sister's house and
they're doing a Mother's Day thing there.

Speaker 5 (33:41):
But yeah with his mum and stuff.

Speaker 15 (33:44):
Yeah yeah, Brook, that's really tough.

Speaker 4 (33:46):
So what are you actually.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
Going to do on Sunday?

Speaker 12 (33:49):
Just open the kid's presence that they get me today
at the stall and then get them ready to go
to their dad.

Speaker 4 (33:54):
Babe. That sucks.

Speaker 12 (33:57):
Yeah, well, that's it's all about the kids. Really, I'm
waiting for them to be adults. I'll appreciate me more
than I guess.

Speaker 5 (34:04):
Yeah, I mean that is true, but that is a
long time to wait though, Yeah it I.

Speaker 1 (34:10):
Mean you don't seem too upset by which is.

Speaker 12 (34:12):
Great because my kids are amazing. I've got twins, I
got a boy and a girl. You need to try again.

Speaker 1 (34:19):
Can we give you? Why don't we give you some
beautiful flowers?

Speaker 7 (34:24):
Nice?

Speaker 5 (34:25):
Yeah, we'll get a nice bouquet together flowers for everyone
and they'll Yes, we'll make sure that you've got something
from someone that isn't you remember when I.

Speaker 12 (34:34):
Got flowers.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
Happy Mother's Day for Sunday? Mate?

Speaker 5 (34:39):
You flowers for everyone dot com dot au delivering big
love and beautiful blooms to mum. This Mother's Day now
coming up. Cory's got something he's passionate about.

Speaker 4 (34:49):
This passionate.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
Okay, stuff was going on as we were planning the show,
and these two you're not thinking that it would ever
come back and bite them. I'm saying the most appalling thing.

Speaker 5 (35:01):
It's a question, it's a valid question. Close to Mother's Day.

Speaker 2 (35:05):
Sure, and I feel that we're outnumbered here.

Speaker 1 (35:08):
I'm sorry. There's two of you in one of.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
Everyone else.
