Speaker 1 (00:00):
Very excited to have Friday night footy unless you played
last night in state of Origin. And that goes for
two of our players, one Marone, one Blue. Both I
understand and pulled up. Okay, but let's go to a
young bloke, a young Canberan who were playing his one
hundredth game alongside those boys tomorrow night in Sydney against
(00:21):
the Tigers. SEB Chris, good morning, congratulations mate, good morning,
Thank you very much as a can Bear. And you're
all right with this? Feels like minus ten right, You're
just wearing shorts and.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Not at all.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
When we had Hudson in last week, he came in
and it wasn't quite minus night. It was like minus five,
so you know, a little bit warmer, but he gave
me in shorts. You're not doing the shorts.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Nah, no way, I'm always tracksuit. We'll like to feel
comfortable and warm when.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
You turn up to the captain's run today. Will there
be because Hudson's still in Perth or making his way
back now or straight across the Sydney I think, will
any of the boys be in shorts or is it
full track he's on a morning like today.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
No, there's a few Luna Ticks wearing shorts, that's for sure.
I know for sure Xavier Savage will be wearing shots
and most likely a shirt. Dude, oh my, he doesn't
feel it.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Where's where's here you originally from?
Speaker 2 (01:18):
He's from up in cans where it's warms. A wow.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
Maybe he's just so numb. That's why he doesn't feel it,
because his body's sistance shot.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
That's a good point. He doesn't even realize it's.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Speaking of origin last night said you were a target
on Valley Dragons Junior, but you were born in Brisbane,
So who were you going for for origin?
Speaker 2 (01:39):
It's a bit of a tough one because yeah, as
you said, I played here in Canberra when I was younger,
so I made Under sixteen and eighteen's New Southwals and
then played for them. Yeah yeah, I was born in Queensland,
so it is a tough decision for me. But I
just picked who from our team is playing. So last
night I was going for New South Wells because Hudson.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Was in there, right if.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
But other than that, I'm not too sure. I just
watched the game.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
Isn't there another Raider in the Queensland? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Big Red, But he didn't get on. He wasn't That
makes it easy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I was like,
all right, sweet, I'll just go.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
For all right now, I'm just gonna I'm gonna Fantasy
Book Game three for a second. Here, I'm Billy Slater.
Your phone's ringing, seb you answer it, s It's Billy Slater.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
I'm gonna be You.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Want to run out in game three for the Marones?
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Oh shit, I don't think I'm allowed for I know people.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
I know people. I'll make a few calls, mate, so
give me the green light. It happened, Thanks, Billy, Billy
surprised Billy Slater. Al Right, it is a young bloke
playing your first game in this neck of the woods
before you go. Do you ever think a hundred games
(03:01):
first grade? This is a really big deal for you, mate.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
How excited.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
I I'm very excited, and I never thought about making
one hundred games, But now that I'm here, I feel
like I've had a special journey ups and downs, and
I feel like it might mean a little bit more
to the camera community that I came through the grades
and I've hit a hundred games, so I feel like
I'm making more than just our team and our club crowd.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
Mate, you make us all very proud.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
We are so proud of you. I did notice one
really quick detail when I was looking at photos of
you from your early days playing with the Raiders, back
when you're at your first game, second game, whatnot, and
you had braces, and I just wanted to ask how
it is playing footy when you've got I know you've
got the mouthguard, but when you've got braces in there,
is that like a whole other level of pain if
(03:51):
you do get hit in the face.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Oh yeah, it's not so much more pain. It's just annoying,
you know, those little cuts. I would get them every training,
every game. But it was something that I just had
to deal with. So I, yeah, got numb to that
pretty quick, and when I got him off, I was relieved.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
Well, you look great, your teeth look great. Watching you
this weekend. We are so proud of you, and congrats
on your hundredth game already.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
Thank you very much.
