Speaker 1 (00:02):
Imagine, if you will, that you are in a place
of great beauty. Some teenage boys walk past you, they
yell out, they bitch tits. The world you see is
a place of paradox of beauty and cruelty. It will

(00:26):
cut you off at the knees, then gift.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
You a pair of easies.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
And that, my friends, is why you always always need.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Oh my god.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
If you're like a.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
I look about a kid's birthday party, the children's.

Speaker 4 (00:59):
Birthday far we are all clowns. We are some of
us are sadder than others.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
Or you're not sad now that you're on your second
dose of antibiotics. Kate Lainbrook Helo, Nate Valvo, Hey, this
is this is the artist formerly known as Nate's. Normally
I like in the studio alone case, but right now
there's a few extra pan not alone, not alone. Hello Buck, Hello,

(01:29):
very close, and even we were very close. I'm not
gonna lie too close. It's too close.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
He can't handle the intimacy.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
This is, this is too close. As you know, I
haven't heard next week's out yet that we recorded.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
I know I have never do to it. On the
way in where you said he's got the tears.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
It does, and what have you got.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
Just general revulsion of humanity?

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Why don't you look him in the eye.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
Because he's not looking me in the eye. And you
can't keep daring because that's weird.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
I'll tell you who's always looking you right in the eye.
And when they look you in the eye, they have
a supernatural power that has come straight from the bowels
of hades to look.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Right into the inner essence of you and find.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
You talking about such a French.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
The finest.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Little head popping up.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
What she really does have something of the sock puppet.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
And you have this is an audio medium. But you
did walk out with your new poles? Not not that
kind of pole? Your are they called?

Speaker 4 (02:44):
Well, okay, walking poles, yes, which I thought someone did
it as a joke because of Nordic North Pole. But
apparently not, as I discovered when I was at Paddy
Palin yesterday's shopping.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
I don't think store.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
I had never even been into or aware of these?

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Would you doesn't have candles or pillow cases or rugs
for you incense sticks?

Speaker 2 (03:09):
She there's a lot of water proofing.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Same you're gonna get so wet, yes, as not in
a good way, get your mind out of the gutter buckheads.

Speaker 4 (03:23):
But it's just a whole different I'll tell you what.
There's a lot of water waterproofing in the store, but
when you walk in there, you dry up like a ding.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
It is so.

Speaker 4 (03:34):
Full of people that wear those open toed nylon Canadian
walking sand Hello.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
If you're here or listening.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
And also no judgment because as we know I now
am one of them, but poorly equipped to do the climbing.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
Well.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
I did think about you and your polls this week.
You gotta be careful out there. This this, this happened
to a man this week, and I just want you
to be careful. I think that's the right one. Is
that the right video? Straightway?

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Have you?

Speaker 3 (04:07):
Is that the right one? This might be about Look
if this is about a topless woman, ignore it and
we'll play that one later.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Ok.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
This hopefully is about a pole all right, A pole guy,
A pole guy.

Speaker 5 (04:19):
This man and two friends hiked about six hours down
Montana's tallest mountain with a trekking pole and paled.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
In him a couple inches the other way, and m'll
be a different story.

Speaker 5 (04:30):
The accident occurred about ten miles into an attempt to
summit the Granite Peak.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
And just slept on some rocks.

Speaker 6 (04:36):
It was just kind of a freak thing.

Speaker 5 (04:37):
A group of friends contacted search and rescue and reached
the trailhead after about six hours. When they reached the bottom,
Sepaldi was taken to a hospital where doctors were able to.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
Remove the pole. I'm so sorry, but Slash sent it
to me straight away.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
And that's ironic because can I tell you if anyone
in this room has spent six ounds with the pole
embedded in them?

Speaker 2 (05:02):
It's our very friendly news.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
This is a very episode.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
Well you know you can't. We need to list the
spirits happen.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
We're going to split your mountain adventure into two in
this episode because we have a little chat now about
your polls and you're impending death. But we're also which
is very exciting. We thought, what what better way to
prep for this adventure than to really find out what's
going to happen. So joining us live on stage at
the end of the year will be a live Tarot

(05:31):
card reader. We're going to get your cards red. I
can and I have questions about what means what, but
we're going to find out it. If you're going to die.

Speaker 4 (05:39):
Okay, all right, I love it. Well, I'll tell you
one thing. Yep, I'm definitely going to die. We're just
going to find out when.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
On the mountains.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Well, actually, I don't even believe I'm going to die.
Do you ever have that feeling about you about you dying?

Speaker 7 (05:54):
No?

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Yeah? Or about yourself?

Speaker 4 (05:56):
Me?

Speaker 3 (05:56):
Yeah, you think about my own death all the time.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Can you imagine yourself?

Speaker 4 (06:00):
Did?

Speaker 3 (06:00):
Absolutely?

Speaker 2 (06:01):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Really yes?

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Actually do not believe that I will ever die? I
truly don't.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
You know those psychological games that people play with you
sometimes and they go, You're in a white room and
there's no one else around, and you're just bah and
what are your feelings?

Speaker 2 (06:17):
And I'm like, why am I there? Right there?

Speaker 4 (06:20):
You're just SA And I'm always like, oh, okay, it's death.
And I went, well, I don't accept it. I don't
accept talking because this time last week I was praying for.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
But you know, in forty two years of this earth,
no one's ever asked me about being in a white
room alone, thinking about death, really talking to was this
in the poll shop?

Speaker 7 (06:46):
You know?

Speaker 4 (06:46):
You know how people will say if you are an animal,
what kind of animal would you be?

Speaker 2 (06:50):
It's one of those psychological games.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
You love it, Yeah, I don't like that. My biggest fear, though,
my biggest view is when people say we don't ever
a regular job, when I'm a stand up comic in
all of that, and I know sometime I can't pay bills. However,
that is all worth it, because my biggest fear is
being at some sort of get to no situation with
people and you have to throw something at someone and
then say a fun fact about yourself, yes, yes, and

(07:13):
then throw that ball to the next person.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
Drama school, here's a little that's three drama.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
No fact is fun? How about that?

Speaker 2 (07:21):
No? Well, no, it's true.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
But what's the fun fact about uk?

Speaker 4 (07:25):
Okay, well, while we're talking about death, Oh all right,
we have with us today someone who obviously also.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Doesn't believe they're going to die, A very special guest.
I've the check.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
She's in the house first, Beth, Beth, are you here?

Speaker 2 (07:46):
All right?

Speaker 4 (07:46):
This is worthy of a great round of applause, and
I will share with you why.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
Hi, guys, you probably won't see this, yeh.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
And by that we mean Sash did.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Passed it on. But I bought seven tickets to the
show as soon as they were released. Thanks birth, all
my sisters and best dear coming.

Speaker 4 (08:10):
Last year, I had to pull out of the show
last minute as I got diagnosed with cancer while heavily pregnant.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
You guys sent me a hilarious video to make up
for it.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
But I'm almost finished treatment now and I get a
second chance to see you.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
We're calling it my redemption arc.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
I just wanted to say thank you for bucking me
up through the past year, every chemo session and sleepless
night with a newborn. Yes, I'm having to re listen
to the backlog. Love you both, Beth, Bath.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Now Bet Beth. That is possibly the single nicest message
were both ever received. So beautiful, that's awesome. Would you
go tracking on a mountain birth with your new lease
on life? Maybe? Oh you would do it well? She
is going.

Speaker 4 (09:03):
So Beth is operating on the principle that you've always
got to do something with someone who looks worse than you,
and I would be honored to play that role for
your bed Beth.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
All the sisters here again, it's a bedrow. There's a
whole row.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
One more time for best crue, very very happy.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
Lovely to be and by the way, just a quick woo,
are there any Italians in here right now? Hello? I
tell you, I don't know if you saw me post
it this week, but this is very quickly for the
Italians on the Trade. Yes. On the Trader's television show,
DICKO was talking about Cosuma Devido, one of the most
famous Italians. For some reason, he wouldn't just say she's Italian,

(09:50):
very odd stuff, so he got a bit creative with
his words, and this, dick this is how he said
Cosuma Devido was Italian. Okay, this lady next to me,
I've spent a lot of time with her. She's a
Mediterranean communicator. Okay, so hello to our Mediterranean communicators.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
Oh you know why he did that, because I reckon
under the glare of the cameras. Then he absolutely shat
his Chino's because he couldn't remember if she was Greek
or Italian. You know, there's a lot of Greek Italian
confusion amongst people who are from neither of those grand
Mediterranean communications.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
And the reason he said it in her defense, which
is even funnier, is because someone accused her of being
a trader and their reasoning was that she's a bit
over the top when she's explaining things, and they thought
that that's because she's lying communicator. She's not lying, she's
just using her hands a lot. So that blew up

(10:57):
in a lot of Italian families. That clip but hoppy
to that.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (11:02):
I love it, and it's made me miss Dicko. That's
probably naughty Cove. I mean it was like I remember
years ago when Peter and I would went on holidays,
my husband, father of alleged four children.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
And soon to be criminal in court.

Speaker 4 (11:16):
Well, yes, I sent a photo to Valvo yesterday of
when I bought my Nordic walking poles. Peter was holding
them at the cashier. Just start and what did you say, back, Valvo,
he's looking guilty, you said, I'm saving that picture for
the tribe.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
He looked very happy that it was all falling into place.

Speaker 4 (11:37):
And suddenly, you know what, I've suddenly realized my husband's
I've always thought he was kind of beady and lovable,
but now I've realized he's sinister and cleepy.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
It's a really terrible I'm telling you.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
When you watch a crime television series, it's always the
nice guy. It's always the one that you don't expect anyway,
and who toilet is written down?

Speaker 2 (11:59):
Heyes, okay, so something that you that this.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
Is how we move on to the next topic. By
the way, that I.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
You thought was really strange was when I got a
secondhand toilet.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
From my friend Maria, who does.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
My nails, who is also a Mediterranean communicator, but she's Greek.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
Yeah, but we picked up on that because she's getting
rid of a secondhand toilet, So.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Wouldn't an Italian Well that's what.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
I meant in general, Yeah, just a Mediterranean community.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
Yeah, she's Greek though, and so I would find anyway.
It's a long story short. But the house that we
live in, which is a kind of ramshackle, it's charming
if you don't live in it, you know what I mean.
It's it's one of those places like the roof leaks.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
A lot of pillows, a lot of pillot of cushions
and they're all damp anyway.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
And I had to say to my husband the other day,
you know what, darling, there's no point in doing anything
to the house anything if he's leaking, and he.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
Went, you suppose you're right? Is the is the roof
leaking because of your insane upstairs pool leaks from the pool.

Speaker 4 (13:09):
It's from the pool. Apparently not from the pool, but
pool adjacent. The old cockwee who built the house put
a pool up on the landing on the second floor.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
I've said it before. It defies science and math. You're
doing a tour of Kate's house and you go up
the stairs, and you've gone up the stairs, but then
there's a pool. It makes no sense because when you're
in the shadows floor you can't you don't know where
it is.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
You have no idea.

Speaker 4 (13:35):
There's a pool dripping on.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
Your burroet and the dead possums floating.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
Correct, the dead possums, which my daughter removes for fifty
dollars per possum. Anyway, speaking of my daughter, so the toilet.
When Maria said was doing renovation, she said to me,
out of the blue, I don't suppose you want a toilet,
do you?

Speaker 2 (13:57):
What are the odds that I did? That's uncanny.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
How many people that day do you think she asked?
How many clients that she had to ask about the
toilets one other?

Speaker 4 (14:09):
Because you know Australians, you're all only not paying a
secondhand toilet, all right, land.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Of fasting opportunity.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
Do you know what My parents came here as immigrants,
and you know what we do.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
We shit where other people of shack. It's fine. And
if you think.

Speaker 4 (14:27):
He's got a lot of toilets anyway, So she said,
would you like the toilet?

Speaker 2 (14:32):
I took the toilet. I had to borrow my husband's van.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
I took the toilet home because my son needs a
new toilet in his bungalow out the back right, No,
and how perfect this will save me going to wherever
you buy toilets anyway, So I brought the toilet home.
It's pristine, it's beautiful. It's immaculate. The Greeks didn't even

(14:54):
have to touch it, it was. It was just so beautiful, right,
you could eat your dinner out of it.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Anyway. And then Peter said to me, are you sure
it's the same footprint? What is it? Are they builders?
There's a heterosexual man? Are you a build up? You're
build up?

Speaker 3 (15:13):
Where's the heads of sexual man?

Speaker 2 (15:14):
Yeah? I spotted him.

Speaker 3 (15:17):
How does it feel for the first time in your
laughter already? Have you listened to the pod?

Speaker 2 (15:29):
And amazing?

Speaker 4 (15:31):
Are you so happy he does that, Hang on, Sash'll
get you going. Here we go, all right, fair enough,
I don't it's enough. I'm about to make you so happy.
I'm about to ask you to man explain something to me,
and the whole time.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
I'm sitting right here. Yeah, I'll give him the mic,
ask you the question.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
So the footprint of the toilet so when you were
it sits on the ground.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
They change it all the time. You know that. They
change building codes.

Speaker 4 (16:03):
Correct, jaws have got to be wider, and glass gotta
be some thickness and safety safety safety anyway, whatever.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
What's your name? So, demo, Da? What's your job?

Speaker 2 (16:14):
Demo?

Speaker 3 (16:17):
He's in logistics. This checks out.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
This will help logistics, moving things from one place to another.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Okay, anyway, long story show.

Speaker 3 (16:26):
Whoever in all your years of doing logistics, have you
ever transported a toilet from one place to another?

Speaker 2 (16:31):
You have?

Speaker 3 (16:33):
You were a builder for twenty years.

Speaker 4 (16:36):
I knew it about you. With you, Oh, I hope
you're going to be impaled on his six foot pole later.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
You're a lucky woman. Never let him go.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
First and last straight man to ever come to our pod, I.

Speaker 2 (16:55):
Don't think so. I've just picked him up. Yeah, anyway,
the toilet didn't, did it. So what it meant was.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
To use that you would have had to pull out
all the tiles and then retile and whatever.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
So the toilet ended up.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
And this is how I realize I'm no better than
anybody else. I'm, in fact, probably worse than a lot
of people, truth be told. So the toilet ended up
in the way of discarded and forgotten things on.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Our hart.

Speaker 3 (17:25):
Front yard. Toilet.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
All right, it's strange an old car with our wheels, correct,
thank you, that's exactly what we are with the multiple
car people. But of course we've got no off street parking,
so I know, yeah, I know. Anyway, So the toilet
was out there, and it was still swathed in the
towels that Maria's husband.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
Had kind of wrapped it in.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
Well not yet, because I've got to tell you what
happened Sunday. So my daughter has high standards, which apparently
I don't meet.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
I just want to stop your right there. Yeah, we
all know that when you're.

Speaker 4 (17:59):
Young ish, yeah, twenty one twenty one.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
One of the biggest things you can ever do is
bring friends, let alone a romantic partner home to your parents' house,
your house. You are embarrassed about anything in that house,
old school photos. You're telling me you're about to kick
in to your daughter for being embarrassed that there's a
toilet on the porch.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
All right.

Speaker 4 (18:23):
Not only that, she's got a I'm not allowed to
mention this, and her godmother's here and she'll dob me in.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
She's got a new boyfriend, you know, the guy, the
guy that we intercepted.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
If you're new to our pod, Kate thinks whispering into
a broadcasted pod means it's not real because she whispered it.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (18:44):
Anyway, Sunday came in the other day the porch. The
toilet had just sat there because none then we didn't
know what to do with it. She did, you know
what I mean, Like no one else seems to want
a secondhand toilet anyway.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
So then Sunday came in the other day.

Speaker 4 (18:58):
Facebook marketplace maybe maybe, but who's going to do that.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
I'm not even on Facebook. I dream of it.

Speaker 4 (19:05):
Anyway, Sunday sent a message the other day. She couldn't
even say this to our face. She was walking down
the street behind two women who will work walking their dogs,
and she heard them say.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
Oh, look, it's the porch toilet house.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
And toilet house you don't know face spoken about on Facebook.

Speaker 4 (19:38):
Of course it has been as I would talk about
it if I saw some freaks with a toilet out
the front, and you know the other.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
Thing that's terrible.

Speaker 4 (19:46):
Once I saw myself through other people's eyes, then I
realized how insane like every time you get a delivery
the delivery drug entrapment is that because we know they're all.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
Busting and Jeff Bezos won't let them stock.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
And there it is like it's welcome porch toilet anyway.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
So I'm going to share.

Speaker 3 (20:08):
With poss around it is it from the pool.

Speaker 4 (20:11):
Look who knows what's around it? But I took a
photo of it. I did not alter anything. I just went,
I'm going to share it with.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
The buckwhits, the buckstackles.

Speaker 4 (20:21):
The buckles, the demo buckwheats Demo's fully on board.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
All right, I'm sharing with you my shame.

Speaker 3 (20:33):
I stash to chuck this up on the Instagram. My
favorite part is that you've gone out desperately with a
towel and this will do it.

Speaker 4 (20:42):
The same towels that Maria and Dennis, her husband wrapped
around it to put into.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
The back of the Those towels are screaming Mediterranean Communicator.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
But also because it's the house of perpetual renovation.

Speaker 4 (20:57):
That's why we sort of didn't. It didn't occur to us.
We knew the logic behind it, but.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Clearly two ladies walking their dogs didn't.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
Love it so much. I want a deep dive on
Facebook groups and five fine group about porch toilet house. Yes, so,
what's some they want you to do about it?

Speaker 2 (21:14):
Oh, she just wants it attended to.

Speaker 4 (21:16):
She's not even at home now, she's house sitting for
Kate Sobrano while Lewis is overseas with them.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
And you know why, she.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
Doesn't want to be out at the porch.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
No toilet at Sobrano's house on the porch.

Speaker 4 (21:27):
Definitely not Anyway, my shame is shed, and you know what,
I'm divested of it and so I can return to
my true self.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
And that's what we do on this podcast. What a buck?
What a buck? So how do you medicate yourself on
a live show day?

Speaker 3 (21:50):
I don't.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
If you see, it's really it's a white knuckle ride.

Speaker 3 (21:57):
My industry is going through a bit of a reckoning
at the moment. It's about the battle to embrace or
fight AI. We're all going through it. Just when do
you use it?

Speaker 7 (22:06):
When?

Speaker 2 (22:06):
Don't you?

Speaker 4 (22:07):
Before I left the house, Artie was watching Sport, always
Sport number three son, and he said, mom, Mum, come
look at this, And I.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
Thought, what could possibly interest me about sport?

Speaker 4 (22:17):
It was an ad for something called zoos or zompores,
zost or whatever, and it.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
Says it's a guy walking in.

Speaker 4 (22:24):
A coffee shop of course DEI, and it says on
the bottom all actors are AI generated.

Speaker 3 (22:34):
It's not good.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
It's not good, and you would not Valvo.

Speaker 4 (22:39):
I swear you would not have known if they hadn't
written it.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
I know.

Speaker 3 (22:47):
It's like I mean, I mean, this is the fight
we're all having. I want it tough. I don't want
it anywhere near my industry. However, when I was trying
to figure out what wall to what color for my wall?

Speaker 2 (22:58):
Yes, yes, yes, I'm like, oh, this is very renovating.
Do you need a toilet.

Speaker 3 (23:06):
Not painting? It turns you into this like magician, which
is quite powerful. Show me red and then it just does,
and so I thought, Okay, I don't want to use
it ever again However, I did think how smart is AI?
So I gave it a test, and this is for yours.
I said, hey, whatever its name is apparently going to

(23:27):
be nice to it. So when they take over the world,
they're going to remember that you were polite. I said,
can you please give me a conversation between Kate Laine
Brook and Nathan Valvo on the buck Up podcast?

Speaker 2 (23:41):
What happened? Val Does it go? Does it go? Has
it listened to all the buck Up? I think, so
it must happen when you read this, I think.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
It did you have to program it anything? That's all
I wrote. And it just said, you know, bear with
us or whatever it says.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
And then do you think AI is a QUI.

Speaker 4 (24:03):
Les? Really?

Speaker 3 (24:06):
So here's what we're doing. This is according to AI,
this is a regular buck Up episode, and I feel like,
annoyingly the essence is kind of there. You haven't read it,
so you're reading with me. I will play me of
you will play you folks strap in because this is

(24:26):
a buck Up conversation according to AI. Oh my goodness,
we always see their intro and I've got to get
into a character. Okay, okay, what what is your character?
Just like by the way like all gut out.

Speaker 4 (24:46):
What can you ask AI to analyze our personalities and
write a paragraph? Me?

Speaker 3 (24:51):
They've done that listening to the pod.

Speaker 4 (24:54):
Okay, here we go, Naith, Can I ask you something
without you judging me?

Speaker 3 (25:00):
Impossible? Continue?

Speaker 2 (25:06):
I walked into the supermarket for milk.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
That's actually their.

Speaker 4 (25:12):
And somehow walked out with three candles, a ceramic lemon
and absolutely no milk.

Speaker 3 (25:20):
That's not shopping, that's being emotionally manipulated by mood lighting.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
Those candles, whispered to me.

Speaker 3 (25:28):
Meanwhile, you've got wheat pigs at home looking at each other,
going well, I guess we're having dry breakfast again.

Speaker 4 (25:37):
My pantry has aspirations. My fridge has absolutely no follow through.

Speaker 3 (25:42):
You're the only person I know whose kitchen says she's
thriving while the contents scream call someone.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
And you know what the worst bit is, there's more.

Speaker 4 (25:54):
I lit one of the candles before dinner, romantic for myself,
even more room, and then the smoke alarm went off
because I'd forgotten the garlic bread.

Speaker 2 (26:05):
Ah.

Speaker 3 (26:06):
Yes, nothing says I've got my life together like a
vanilla sandal wood candle competing with the smell of burnt carbohydrates.

Speaker 4 (26:14):
I stood there waving a tea towel at the smoke alarm, thinking.

Speaker 2 (26:18):
This is adulthood.

Speaker 3 (26:19):
No, Kate, this is exactly why we're friends. You buy
the fantasy. I provide the reality.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
Check usual some sat which is.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
Next time write milk on your hand, these candles will
still be there, your dignity probably not.

Speaker 4 (26:38):
Never underestimate the persuasive power of a ceramic lemon.

Speaker 3 (26:41):
And that's the title of the episode sorted.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
Ah what.

Speaker 4 (26:49):
I hate Ai. I hate AIU even more than I
hate Ai me. And also I hate that AI thinks
that as if I'm going into a supermarket to buy
a ceramic lemon, I'm going into dusk for.

Speaker 3 (27:05):
That, you're going into buy a secondhand toilet. So we
can say Ai zero buck up one on that one.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
I think some Yeah, I think so. But I would
like to know what they think.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
Of us Ai.

Speaker 2 (27:18):
Yeah that Ai. Obviously they've got you pegged as as
what say one of the words that we adink a din.

Speaker 4 (27:27):
I have heard about supercillious, double income, no kids.

Speaker 3 (27:32):
For the last month. Kate's just hooked on dink with me.
So anytime I drop any sort of pleasure in my
life that God forbid costs a dollar. She rolls her
and goes dink, which is double income. No kids, because
apparently it's my fault about science. Okay, let's move on. Well,
you choose who you love.

Speaker 7 (27:57):
Write that.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
So this story the.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
News got me a few days ago, and I thought, well,
that's absolutely why I'm for the buckheads. I don't know
how people feel about their relationship with their father. I
don't know how close you are with your father's to
the women. I don't know what you're comfortable with doing
around your father. I didn't think any women in the
world were comfortable doing this around their father. I don't

(28:22):
women especially. But I'm going to play the little news
story and then we can have a little chat about
what's going off online. Okay, please pay attention because okay.

Speaker 6 (28:31):
Yeah, Brooks Nater is getting dragged after going topless on
a family boat trip in Italy while swimming right in
front of her dad, and people cannot agree on whether
this is completely normal or just insanely uncomfortable. Brooks was
vacationing in Sardinia with her parents and sister when photos
showed her ditching her bikini top and jumping into the

(28:51):
water wearing only white crochet bottoms. Her dad bro was
literally right there. That is the part that broke the internet.

Speaker 3 (29:00):
Let's have a chat cake, So okay, titty's out in
front of dud thought.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
All right.

Speaker 4 (29:09):
The only time that I bear in mind my father
a most fastidious, beautiful, some might say uptight dutchman. I
literally never even saw him without a single on right,
just he was always so and compared to him, I
was quite slatternly, do you know what I mean? Because
I was modern and he was a little bit like

(29:31):
the first time my father ever saw my breast was
when I was breastfeeding in front of him, and even
that was a lot for him and you but you
could see he was like, oh, yes, the babe must Anyway,
the idea of doing that is so crazy to me.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
But I'm not a man, daimo, damo.

Speaker 3 (30:01):
It's very uncomfortable, and it's just people saw it. Because
some people started tensing up even when I mentioned the
news story. I mean, I wouldn't even go on a
holiday with my parents, let alone being togged in front
of mom.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
No, really, weirds just a dad. The Dad's just good.
It's just weird.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
Here's how I feel about that sort of those families.
No offense of the nude families that are in here.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
Oh yes, are there any really in front of your.

Speaker 3 (30:38):
Dad as well? There goes that cher end of this episode.

Speaker 2 (30:47):
It's Janetti, It's Jeannette.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
I have some questions. What's your name?

Speaker 2 (30:53):
Sorry?

Speaker 3 (30:54):
Hello? Gabby? Okay, Gabby gets a cheer. Gabby. When you
say your parents are nudists, I need a couple of
more sentences there. What does that actually mean?

Speaker 2 (31:05):
Yeah, so just that were just not very whenever at
home naked? So whenever you were at home they were
naked just around the house.

Speaker 4 (31:17):
Did they take you to a special place where you
all are somewhere near mill Dura?

Speaker 2 (31:25):
Nothing like that? In straight straight chili.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
In bash straight anything? Do you mean like nude parents
as in like running from the bathroom to the bedroom
they were nude or they were just like nude at
the table?

Speaker 4 (31:46):
Yeah, maybe just casually walking from casually casually walking strutting,
strutting slowly?

Speaker 3 (31:54):
Was dad whistling? I think if there's whistling involved, that's
when it's super weird.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
Is his dad hanging the towel off that special hawk?
Would they playful with their.

Speaker 3 (32:07):
Nudity, Kate. That is there is no good way to
say yes to that answer about a nude parent. That's evidence.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
Now you have established it's a minority.

Speaker 3 (32:16):
That is a minority. But it's not even just the
nude thing. Because this story made me think of the
most awkward The most awkward moment of my wedding day
was this is true. Maybe it's not just gay men,
maybe it's everyone. About ten minutes before our ceremony, Cody

(32:37):
came up to me in a panic and I was like, oh,
she's getting cold feet, fair enough, and he said, we
have to kiss. I have to kiss because we have
to kiss in front of our dads. We have to
kiss in front of our dads. We didn't think about this,
and it's like everyone's there, You're there, everyone's ready to go,

(32:59):
like the god, the wedding plan A woman's just just
like you had a wedding planner. Everyone's and we fully
panicked and I said, no one talks about their weddings.
I said, well, what kind of kiss.

Speaker 7 (33:09):
Do we do?

Speaker 3 (33:10):
No one tells you that you're not well, you read
the room, but what does that mean?

Speaker 2 (33:15):
Well?

Speaker 4 (33:15):
I always find I find it strange at a wedding.
If tongues come out, I'm like, there's plenty.

Speaker 3 (33:21):
Of time I reckon her family. Tongue came out, you know.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
What I mean? I think a nice kiss, But you're right,
you've got to analyze.

Speaker 4 (33:30):
It's got to be intimate enough to satisfy all of
us that the union's going to last, but not so
prolonged that you think it's a union just based on
some base physical longing for each other.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
I get grossed out when they go in for the
second one. That's too much, Like you get one, wrap
it up, we're all in the room.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
Did you end up doing I can't remember.

Speaker 3 (33:53):
The worst peck you've ever seen that. It looked like
two homophobic straight guys had been lost a bet. Looked
like we'd lost a bet. It wasn't good. And there's
a photo never see the light of day. There's a photo.

Speaker 2 (34:15):
It's very hard to look good. Kiss.

Speaker 3 (34:17):
Yeah, but I went in so I recoiled. So the
photo with me going ah, it's disgusting. But that's what
that photo story about.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
The girl with you know, the bombs out in front
of her dad, right what with their boobs?

Speaker 3 (34:35):
Oh yeah, would you call them bombs? I've never heard that.

Speaker 2 (34:39):
Well, they looked, you know, they looked like they could
do some damage anyway.

Speaker 4 (34:46):
I remember once years ago we were in Bali on
a holiday and we were staying in this little.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
Hotel where a lot of Europeans stayed, right.

Speaker 3 (34:55):
And Mediterranean communicators.

Speaker 4 (34:58):
Yeah no more French, Oh yeah, more French and maybe
an occasional Mediterranean communicator, but a lot of French.

Speaker 2 (35:06):
And there was a woman there who was I reckon, probably.

Speaker 4 (35:10):
Maybe fifty, very attractive French woman, and she had her son.
She had other kids who were older, but her son
was about fourteen, and she was lying topless by the pool,
which I'm always like, I love the Euros and their
audacity and there whatever.

Speaker 2 (35:28):
With their bodies. They're just like ever Luke, who does
not love a Camembert. So I'm like, great.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
Roasting to say, naked, what are you talking about, Kate?
Why is he mentioning soft cheesus? Lying then naked? It
was a woman, oh sorry, probably worse.

Speaker 4 (35:49):
Right away, and her son was sitting next to her
on the banana lounge. I've never forgotten this, and she
was lying there soaking up the sun, so tits out,
la la la golden from the sun and her son,
who was about fourteen, maybe was thirteen, had her.

Speaker 2 (36:04):
Arm and he was running his hand up and down
her arm while she was lying there.

Speaker 4 (36:11):
At that stage, I didn't have children, but I thought,
better get me some of that action. Three sons later,
it hasn't happened.

Speaker 3 (36:22):
It was not a ticker amongst them, not a yes.

Speaker 4 (36:26):
It was so strange, And I remember watching the boy
like looking at his face, but in the mean looon,
very young, damo.

Speaker 3 (36:36):
She mentions men. She looks at you and never at me.
This is our relationship. When I'm in the Room's only about.

Speaker 2 (36:43):
A man in here. I'd love to do this podcast
with a man. Oh well, it's time for segments.

Speaker 3 (36:51):
We're gonna do some classic segments. First club, yuck your.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
Arm, going to yuck your yum.

Speaker 3 (37:03):
You've got the y you're young, Uh huh. I'm in
the paperwork. There's paperwork that was.

Speaker 2 (37:10):
Fool to me. This is great coming back to me now.
It's from Leanne. Okay, love, Leanne.

Speaker 4 (37:19):
I'm so happy that you're including a yuck your youm segment.
I've been getting angry love what makes people angry? I've
been getting angry with vegetarian food. Being shaped and labeled
mock carnival foods. Why we need to shape and label
vegetables to look like meat? Vegios don't want to eat meat.

(37:43):
Shape the lentils like a carrot, for God's sake, a
plant based beef burger?

Speaker 2 (37:48):
What the actual fuck? Very true?

Speaker 3 (37:53):
So yu you indeed? I mean it's so true. Maybe
it's for my guess is like partner that want to
trick their partner into eating.

Speaker 4 (38:05):
That's a very small market, doesn't it. Maybe maybe Franks
section of the supermarket. Here be the Japsters.

Speaker 3 (38:19):
Things that are embarrassing that shouldn't be Does you have
an intro?

Speaker 2 (38:22):
Yet? Does it? No intro?

Speaker 3 (38:27):
We've been doing it for two years.

Speaker 2 (38:29):
I don't think it's ever had. I think I've tried
to sing something for you again, No, because you always
comment about how I can't hold it.

Speaker 3 (38:35):
Excuse me. I don't say that. I say it's a compliment.
I say you're very off key. But that key is
the same one for the whole time. It's just the
wrong one.

Speaker 2 (38:44):
Things that are embarrassed should be with Nathan, Katie. There
we go, beautiful.

Speaker 3 (38:52):
What are you talking about?

Speaker 2 (38:54):
My gift to you?

Speaker 3 (38:55):
Things that are embarrassing. Shouldn't be when you ask for
him at the Dali and they have to go get
it from thee and open it fresh and then slice.
The staff always look annoyed, and I feel I'm holding
them up, even when no one else is waiting. Why
does this feel embarrassing? I don't know, but it just does.
Thank you, Melanie.

Speaker 2 (39:15):
It's the little things in line now.

Speaker 3 (39:18):
It feels very fifteenth century watching someone with a big
thing of meat cutting it for you. It's a bit
like this should be in a packet. You know. I
get what he means.

Speaker 2 (39:27):
I don't like it in a package. Okay, I like
it fresh JMO.

Speaker 3 (39:35):
And of course, where would a buck up episode be
without our favor?

Speaker 1 (39:42):
All right?

Speaker 2 (39:43):
This is from Kate.

Speaker 4 (39:46):
If I'm dead in a car accident, it's your father
because he's driving like a lunatic and he won't pull over.
All right.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
By it's a text from.

Speaker 3 (40:00):
And by the way, that's a voice to text.

Speaker 2 (40:03):
It's just it was the only way she didn't have
time to write.

Speaker 3 (40:05):
Yeah, it makes it so much more dramatic. Okay, this
is when stuff gets good to take us home. We're
gonna we're gonna get into the future. Okay, okay, so
round of applause please, and welcome to the stage. Carlie
Carli are amazing tarot card reader. I can feel a
vibe coming off you into the.

Speaker 7 (40:24):
Do.

Speaker 2 (40:24):
I absolutely what's my vibe? You very psychic? I feel
it really so, Oh my god, this is the best.

Speaker 3 (40:33):
Can you say something about me? Say that again in there?

Speaker 2 (40:40):
Thanks, it's got a good vibe. You know how some
people say people love to say this about babies. Everyone
says this one. It's an old soul. It's an old soul.
They always say that about babies. You're a young soul,
am I.

Speaker 3 (40:54):
I think so fresh energy. I'll tell my botops lady,
thank you fresh. All right, So we're going to start now.
We're going to get very serious and we're going to
set the mood here and make the background really cool
and we're going in here. So is that good?

Speaker 2 (41:08):
Is that you approve?

Speaker 3 (41:10):
That's that's ai slot of course. Okay, okay, So Carlie
is welcome. We wanted to get a tarot card reading
from my friend Kate, who in a few months is
off to a very tall mountain with.

Speaker 2 (41:25):
In a month.

Speaker 4 (41:26):
In a few months, I've only got a month to
recover and then do all the training I should have
been doing for the last five months.

Speaker 3 (41:34):
Yes, and your and your polls are from kmart, so
she it, Carlie. The first thing I have to ask
you on behalf of myself and other people that are
new to tarot card reading. What are we doing here?
What are we looking for?

Speaker 7 (41:46):
Well, we're going to do a five card spread, and
Kate's going to grow the cards now, she's going to
ask the question that she wants to know some GID
and get some guidance future. Okay, and then we'll do
a five cards in the middle. Oh, yes, count Yeah.

Speaker 3 (42:09):
The ones that fell out of the pack count? Do
you know last year? And Kate's been giving me ship
since have you heard about the deck of cards?

Speaker 2 (42:19):
I don't, no.

Speaker 3 (42:24):
Card the same twice in history?

Speaker 2 (42:26):
Did you know that? Don't? Carly don't. Don't. She's agreeing
with me. No, I'm yucking you. I'm the person whose
life is hanging in.

Speaker 3 (42:35):
The I'm sorry. What did you call those two cards
that fell out? R? Leaping cards?

Speaker 2 (42:40):
All right? Do you want my question? I want you
to I can't. I'm left handed. Does that make a differences? Okay?

Speaker 3 (42:50):
Do the leaping cards mean more than the other ones.
They have to say when.

Speaker 2 (42:57):
So let's slip these leaping cards. Okay, make it look
this is you and Peter. What is this the Queen
of Thords and the King of Pentacles. Oh my goodness,
don't know what it means.

Speaker 4 (43:10):
But I tell you what, I'm really hardwired to respond
to the word queen Leo, Leo eight I eight lines
gate whatever that means. But it's that same thing.

Speaker 2 (43:23):
Good. This is This is about your you. Okay, all right,
this is this is you. This is a Leo woman
in the middle, Queen of wands. That's my sticks some
one's Can I just say it's dead?

Speaker 3 (43:47):
You just pulled the deck hard?

Speaker 2 (43:49):
Okay? Can I just say this?

Speaker 4 (43:51):
I don't want to hear any bloody gain of fauci
tarot bullshit about death is in your beginning? It is?

Speaker 7 (43:59):
It is?

Speaker 3 (44:03):
It says death is the new beginning for Pete.

Speaker 2 (44:14):
Queen. I'm not sure. I'm just depast.

Speaker 3 (44:25):
To say, can you actually please explain what the death
card means?

Speaker 7 (44:29):
Okay, through the cards and then I tell you the
positions because changes.

Speaker 3 (44:33):
Okay, Okay, this is very on point, is it?

Speaker 2 (44:40):
Alright? So there's a wizard in the middle of the
death death to the left.

Speaker 7 (44:45):
The Queen of Ones is the theme of the card,
which is you your Leo energy, Queen of Ones. This
is you shining bright with your Polly.

Speaker 2 (44:54):
They're holding a pole.

Speaker 3 (44:56):
Hang, the card is actually holding a poll poles directon.
They're from kmart.

Speaker 2 (45:06):
And so the immediate past is death.

Speaker 7 (45:09):
The immediate past is you've just been really sick.

Speaker 2 (45:11):
You've had some sort of illness that you've got through use.

Speaker 7 (45:15):
But that's in your immediate past. Also, your thoughts have
been very much so about dreading this true, So that
is I that you've got your armor on, you don't
really want to go you're.

Speaker 2 (45:26):
So that's immediate past.

Speaker 7 (45:27):
But then your immediate future is also the fiber Pentacles,
which is being left out in the cold with again.

Speaker 3 (45:36):
Oh, there's no way to spin this.

Speaker 4 (45:39):
An impoverished woman with a scarf wrapped around her head
being followed by a beggar on crutches.

Speaker 2 (45:48):
Oh I'm in there. Yeah, Oh yes, he's a ding.

Speaker 3 (45:57):
What can you explain what that first and following her is?

Speaker 4 (46:01):
And you know what you I know you're a very flexible,
fit woman, but I'm interested to see how you limber
under that bar because limbo, you can't limbo under what
he is a catastrophe very much.

Speaker 7 (46:13):
Being left out in the cold, a bit of illness,
and you're going on a challenge. So I imagine that
some of these things will occur. I can You're there
all right, But so that that card is that there's
the snow, there's there that's in snow.

Speaker 3 (46:25):
There is the snow, snow on the card.

Speaker 2 (46:28):
Look, there's some Nipalese flags, so that the boots. But
it's also moving through, so it's on your way through.
But you the foundation of the card is.

Speaker 7 (46:44):
Is really being steady with where you are and being
grounded with where you are sitting on material, so being
the porch toilet, Yeah, yes, yes, that'll be cleared by
the time you get back, but the time your end
of your trip comes, it'll be very abundant city the background,

(47:07):
I'm drawn to different things that I'm very drawn to
the buildings in the back. Wow, and to some guide
supporting you along the way as well.

Speaker 2 (47:17):
And you you're so proud.

Speaker 7 (47:19):
That might be my shir You're so proud of yourself
by the end of this because you've conquered something.

Speaker 2 (47:23):
Wow, and being really grounded to be able to get through.
You've got yeah take that and that mountain okay, and
then the same of it is the connection of the
king and a queen. Yeah that Peter Alan Lewis.

Speaker 3 (47:39):
Just so you know this will be used in court.
Are you okay with this? We've recorded this whole thing
for evidence, so to sum it up to zoom out
a bit, it's going.

Speaker 2 (47:48):
To be a challenge.

Speaker 7 (47:49):
It is going to be a bit of a challenge,
which you know, you really need to be empowered by
