Speaker 2 (01:03):
Enjoy. The Christian O'Connell Show podcast.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
Morning, Patsy.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Morning, everyone.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
Good morning, Rio.
Speaker 4 (01:11):
Hello.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
And good morning, Intern Pete.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
Very good morning.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
So we're trying to get Intern Pete down to Melbourne
this week so he can go and be tailgate Pete
on Friday night. because people are going to be down
at the MCG tailgating from about 6am. The game starts
at 10.30am, but obviously this is a big deal, and
it's getting bigger every day, every day there's more coverage
about it. However, the way this company works is about
(01:35):
three different people need to speak to Pete. Bear in mind,
the old show used to just waste money. This is
the opposite of that. Three different people need to verify
if Pete can approve to fly here. If not, Pete
is happy to drive... His mum's blue Holden Commodore said,
you won't make it, mate. You won't make it to
the end zone, Pete.
Speaker 5 (01:55):
It's got good stickers on it, though.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
You can't drive here. What kind of company is this?
One return flight from Sydney to Melbourne.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
Come on.
Speaker 5 (02:03):
Not bad.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
Not bad. $ 1, 200 one way. It's not bad.
Speaker 5 (02:05):
I thought, really, anyway, for the last minute.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Do you think it's high because of NFL?
Speaker 3 (02:10):
It must be.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Because 50% of people are going to be out of
state who are coming here.
Speaker 5 (02:14):
Bloody hell.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
We'll definitely drive, mate. How selfish that you insist to
be flowing around this country.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
What about the train?
Speaker 5 (02:22):
Isn't there that flex bus or something?
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Listen, guys, if we're Australia's first ever national commercial radio show,
six months in, we can't go in. Let's get him
a train pass.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Is there a bus?
Speaker 1 (02:34):
Can he get the Greyhound?
Speaker 4 (02:36):
Maybe someone could give him a lift if someone's driving
down with a carpool.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
We could pay for half of the petrol, maybe.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
Listen, guys, we're six months into this national show.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
And we're already out of money, I guess.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
Yesterday, a delivery guy turned up, right? I recognised the
last time I saw him was during lockdown. And he went,
bloody hell, I thought the show was doing really well.
You've downsized.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
Is everything.
Speaker 6 (02:57):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (02:57):
You're living here now?
Speaker 1 (02:59):
It's like, I thought, you know, I'm reading the numbers
are good. Is everything okay? I had to pay something.
He goes, are you going to be good for this?
Speaker 3 (03:06):
No.
Speaker 7 (03:07):
Do you need.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
To put it on layaway? Now, I said everything's going great,
and I said I'd say hello this morning to Colin
at six. He's on the road at six. He's now
going to hear that on the team, we're looking at
driving to Melbourne.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
I was right about the downside.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
Things are not looking good for that show right now
after six months. You're going to be on the plane, Pete.
Speaker 5 (03:30):
Absolutely, for sure. If everything gets approved, we should be great.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
Save our Depler.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
The Christian O'Connell Show podcast.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Every Wednesday on the show, middle of the week, we
ask you to rate your week so far out of five. Patsy,
how's yours going so far?
Speaker 7 (03:47):
Yeah, not so good. I'd say a one out of
five at this point.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
What?
Speaker 7 (03:52):
Yeah, one out of five. And it's due to one
of the Chuckle Sisters.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
In fact. Oh, I thought they just sort of heaped
chaos onto my life and the show.
Speaker 7 (04:02):
Oh, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
Oh, wow, they found a new mark.
Speaker 7 (04:04):
Yes, it's infiltrating into Patsy's life. I have to say, though, very,
very kindly, Tina, Teens is helping me with my podcast
in recording it. So we had an interview yesterday afternoon.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Oh, and you paint her or?
Speaker 8 (04:18):
No.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Oh, I just do that for free, extra stuff.
Speaker 7 (04:20):
Well, I thought you were out of your pocket.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
Tina, Tina, Tina, you okay? Is she making you work
on a podcast now?
Speaker 9 (04:25):
I'm not okay. It's traumatic.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
Traumatic.
Speaker 7 (04:29):
Well, I'll tell you what was traumatic. So we are
just training on the studio. When I say we, I
mean teens. So we did this interview yesterday. Fantastic interview.
I reckon it's one of the best ones I've done.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
Great.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
So is this the new season?
Speaker 5 (04:43):
Yeah, I'm doing series.
Speaker 7 (04:44):
Three of Rage Against the Menopause. It's coming out in October.
And I had a brilliant professor. Very hard to secure
this professor. She's brilliant. She's leading this world first study. Like,
you break through to get this interview. Anyway, she was fantastic. Anyway,
teens came in when we'd finished just to save off
the interview for me.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
Save off? I've never heard that phrase in 28 years
of radio. Save it off?
Speaker 7 (05:07):
Save it to the computer, you know, so it's there
and label it for editing.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
Tina, right click on that. Right click. Hard drive.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
Save.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
Local drive, actually. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 7 (05:16):
But she went a wider shade of pale and I
knew exactly what was going on.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Oh, no.
Speaker 7 (05:21):
I said, teens, are you okay? What's going on? Is
it not there?
Speaker 3 (05:24):
She goes, oh, I forgot to hit the key.
Speaker 7 (05:28):
It actually didn't record.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
Pats, do you think she really forgot or she was....
Speaker 7 (05:33):
Maybe. Anyway, she felt awful. I felt awful for her
because we have all been there, right? We've all done it.
We have all done it. And I said, you know what?
It's cool. And Linda, my subject.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
Do you know what? Do you know what? I'm going
to be like this now, but the moment you're out
of here, I'm on the phone to Katie.
Speaker 9 (05:50):
It's not like that.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
Is she a long-term member of this team? Where are
we at contract-wise? Fee transfer at the end of the season?
Fox are looking for a junior. Shove her over there.
She probably gets on well with Fev. He looks like
he likes Greek food. Tina, now let's hear it from
your point of view. It must have been terrifying. Do
you need to go into witness protection?
Speaker 9 (06:13):
I wanted to die.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Of all the people.
Speaker 9 (06:16):
Oh, it was horrible. She looked at me with these
eyes and I just had to be like.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
And those eyes are like raven's eyes.
Speaker 9 (06:23):
Cut it out.
Speaker 5 (06:24):
This isn't.
Speaker 10 (06:25):
No.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
You literally went on an eight year odyssey in eight seconds.
Without the bit on the beach with Charlize Theron.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
You know what?
Speaker 7 (06:32):
We've all done it. We have all been there. Remember
old mate Jack who used to be on this show?
Was it Amy Shark, his interview for his podcast?
Speaker 1 (06:40):
She had a major sense of humour failure.
Speaker 7 (06:43):
Everyone does it. And I had a fantastic, you know,
Linda who I was interviewing, she said, you know what,
I've got time, let's just do it again. And it
was a better interview because we were both more relaxed. Yeah,
she was brilliant.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
Well, and Tina, you know what that is? That is
brilliant producing. You knew she had a better one in her. Oh, dear.
I accidentally forgot. Why don't you do it again, but better, actually.
And Professor Lady.
Speaker 9 (07:06):
I thought I'd help the team out, you know. I'm
a good team player.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
How quickly did your blood turn to ice?
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Immediately.
Speaker 9 (07:13):
The second I saw the pop-up, it was this little button.
I was like, oh, no.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
The record button.
Speaker 7 (07:19):
Everyone, seriously.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
It's that record on.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
The red button.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Everyone who's been working in radio in a while has
one of these.
Speaker 4 (07:29):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
Honestly, mine was after a two-hour interview with Ricky Gervais
in his office. And then as I left playing it back,
I realised there was nothing. You don't waste that, man.
He gave me his own time. It wasn't even for
the radio show. It was to launch this new podcast.
And he was going to be the first guest.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
Two hours of that.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
He's a very busy man. I'll tell you one thing
about Ricky. He doesn't suffer fools gladly. There was no
ambiguity about how he felt.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
The Christian O'Connell Show podcast.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
All right. Extra time waster. Rio's favourite day of the
year is Keep Movies.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
No, no, no.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
He's so happy. Skipped in today. How were the lads yesterday?
It was Star Trek Day yesterday, so you had your
live action roleplay you do twice a week on a
Tuesday and Thursday. How were the lads last night, huh?
A couple of frothies. Were you dressed up as Spock?
Or did you go full Nimoy? And that's your password
on computers, full Nimoy.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
I am a cool guy. I don't partake in such a.
Speaker 7 (08:28):
Hey, own it.
Speaker 6 (08:29):
Own it.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
I'm not going to own it.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
It's a lovely part of you.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
I disown it. Come on.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Don't own anything. All right. Geek movies today. Up for grabs.
$ 250 worth of Flowers for Everyone vouchers. Thanks to Flowers
for Everyone. Say hello to Spring with Fresh Farm Flowers
from Flowers for Everyone. The golds yesterday were had for
geek movies. School of Spock. See, he doesn't want to laugh.
He loves it. He's mad for it. That's a trap.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
It's not a trap. I just read it out. That's
a trap.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
Amanda had When Harry High Paints Matt Sally. Elliot had
Larp Larp Land. Stop trying to fight the laughter. Stuart
had Zach and Miri Make a Website. You can't fight
it any longer. Dylan had Cling It On.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
That is very good.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
All right, some more I've got then. These are geek movies. Rio, brother,
where art thou?
Speaker 3 (09:21):
Bronze, a million.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
Not the doors, the Commodores, 64. If you know, you know.
If you know, you know.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
Silver plus.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
Four eyes wide shut.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
Gold.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
Different movie. Tommy at those parties with glasses. Who's that
in the dark?
Speaker 3 (09:36):
I can't see.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
Let me just get my bifocals. Head or high pants?
Speaker 3 (09:40):
Silver. A few good Mensa.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
Gold. Finding Nimoy.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
Oh, gold.
Speaker 11 (09:46):
Those.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
See, he loves that one. He's giving me extra points
because it's his favorite character. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dungeons and Dragons.
Speaker 3 (09:54):
Silver plus.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
And Freddy got action figures.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
Very good. That is gold plus.
Speaker 6 (10:00):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
Why is the phrase action figures funny? It made me chuckle.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
I was like, why is the phrase action figures making
me laugh?
Speaker 4 (10:09):
It's the geekiest thing you could possibly own, I think,
is an action figure.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
All right, Rio, what have you got? Geek movies.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
Meet the Spockers. Oh, that's very good. He knows this
sort of stuff, you see. He's going to do very well.
Another gold, Rio. I know what CPU did last summer.
What does that stand for? So the rest of us
are non-geeks. What's a CPU? Computer processing. Oh, okay. Nerd!
Bluetooth Lagoon. Well done. Gold.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
Gold. You're doing really well. Really well. The lads.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
The lads tomorrow night. They'll be high-fiving you.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Of course, the way they do it, the way they
high-five each other, they do this, the old Star Trek one.
Speaker 9 (10:47):
Nanu, Nanu.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
Nanu, Nanu. Rio, very good on the radio. We loved it.
Gallifrey Five is the code word to get into the club.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
The Christian O'Connell Show. Go on. Podcast.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
Extra time waster. We're looking for your geek movies. Riot
in Rio's wheelhouse. Been begging me all year, please, can
we do something? I know everyone's excited about the NFL,
but In my community, it's all about Star Trek week,
you know?
Speaker 3 (11:12):
They're stealing our thunder.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
They really are, aren't they?
Speaker 3 (11:15):
The big jocks.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
It's an age-old story. They're stuffing you in lockers down
at the MCG Friday morning. Wedgies all around. 49ers offering
free wedgies to geeks if you want to come. All righty,
all righty, righty, righty, righty. If I had Lego, I'd
brick you.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
Gold.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Tim's putting brackets Christian Lego is very nerdy in my
opinion but I'll let Rio be the judge of that
he already has Tim there's something about Rio there's something
cool about Rio if that's what you mean absolutely absolutely
own it well done who's that that's Paul Elon Cain Polly.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
Silver plus.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
Christian passes on to Rio. I didn't know he was
a fellow LARPer. Welcome to come down Friday night to Swordcraft.
Be there by 7 p.m. He would not last a
full two-hour game.
Speaker 4 (12:13):
I have seen them down. Actually, not too far from me.
Is that the people that dress up in medieval outfits
and then they joust and stuff like that?
Speaker 1 (12:22):
You know an awful lot about it. You're a LARP denier.
I've seen it.
Speaker 3 (12:25):
I've seen them.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's calling you. Conan the Librarian.
Speaker 3 (12:31):

Speaker 3 (12:56):
Gold.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
Oh, Alf, that's very good. Christian, not BMX bandits, but

Speaker 1 (13:09):
The Shawshank Retainer.
Speaker 3 (13:11):

Speaker 1 (13:13):

Speaker 3 (13:19):
Silver.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
And Tech Story.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
They're gold. All right, who is winning the flowers?
Speaker 1 (13:24):
Thanks to Flowers for everyone.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
The Hills have pocket organisers.
Speaker 6 (13:27):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
You are today's winner. Brand new time waste this morning, 8.30.
Your picnic bands.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
The Christian O'Connell Show podcast.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
Every Wednesday, we ask you to rate your week so far.
In the middle of the week, rate your week. How's
it going so far out of five? What's it for you, Rio?
Speaker 4 (13:44):
I'm going to say four stars at the moment because
it would be five stars, but I really had to
work for every single one of those stars yesterday.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
Tickets to the Ashes in England came.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
Out last night at 8 p.m., And I was just 7.30,
I was ready, had everything to go, then realized it's
only tickets for UK citizens, not for dirty Aussie foreigners
like myself.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
You should have come to me.
Speaker 3 (14:09):
I should have.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
I'm Jason Bourne. I got two passports.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
So I had to essentially create almost a fake identity.
Speaker 4 (14:16):
I created a fake or a real UK bank account
under my name.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
Then I had to join the Middlesex. That's a lot
of trouble.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
Did you have to join the Middlesex?
Speaker 4 (14:25):
I joined the Middlesex County Cricket Club as.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
A full member.
Speaker 4 (14:30):
I've got a monthly direct debit account now set up
to my UK bank account, and I did it all
just in time and managed to get tickets.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
What incredible creative accounting.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
It was.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
And I get it if you're an Ashes fan you're
a cricket fan going out to England to experience you
know what it's like if you've been to the test
here you know, the MCG. But going there, it's incredible
because you see the other side of it.
Speaker 3 (14:53):
Yes, yeah. You're in enemy territory as well.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
Now you know what it's like for me.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
Every single day.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
Every single day. Every morning between six and nine. It's
like the ashes.
Speaker 7 (15:01):
Oh, that's amazing.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
Oh, that is incredible. I bet you're excited.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
I can't wait. This is a real bucket list item
for me.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
It's brilliant.
Speaker 3 (15:08):
And I cannot, cannot wait.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
You've got the history of those grounds. Same with the MCG,
but just different. The way they are and all the
rules and regulations and then And also what it's like,
you've been to the UK before, even like after the
test and stuff like that, all the local pubs, you've
got the rival fans, you've got the Australians and the
Poms all drinking together. The atmosphere is incredible.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
Love that.
Speaker 4 (15:30):
And I saw, actually, speaking of different rules, for Lords,
as I was going through to get my tickets for that,
they asked me if I wanted to buy a Lords
tie so I could get in.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
Get the tie. You can always spot the Aussies. They've
got T-shirts on with a tie over the top. I'm
not joking. And that's you guys dressing up. That's top
hats and tails.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
That's our tuxedo.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
Putting on a touch of the Ritz.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
Australian tuxedo.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
T-shirt with a tie on the top.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
Do it.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
Hey, congratulations.
Speaker 3 (15:58):
How exciting.
Speaker 6 (15:59):
Thanks.
Speaker 3 (15:59):
Yeah, I can't wait. June can't come fast enough.
Speaker 10 (16:01):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Even just the talk of the ashes, all it gets
from me is PTSD. It's always a tough time of
the year. Tough time of the year. Pete, what's it
for you? Intern Pete, how's your week going, sir?
Speaker 5 (16:11):
I think I'm closing in on a four out of five.
So far, so good. So we're about seven days ago,
I did a marathon, and I think my body has
fully recovered. Some say it might take out a few weeks.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
I doubt your brain has. Seven days ago was Wednesday.
Speaker 10 (16:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
It was about nine or ten days ago on a Sunday.
Speaker 5 (16:30):
Oh, you're right, actually. I've completely mucked up the math.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
Listen, you ran it.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
I didn't run it.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
So, you know, it's obviously taken its toll.
Speaker 5 (16:35):
No, it's good. And the other great news is I
think I found another side hustle that could make me
10 grand in a matter of a few days. What
are you doing?
Speaker 1 (16:42):
Which is great. Selling Rios Ashes tickets?
Speaker 3 (16:44):
Yeah, maybe. You've got to tell me where to hack
his UK bank account.
Speaker 5 (16:47):
Do you remember how I accidentally took two medals from
the Sydney Marathon?
Speaker 1 (16:51):
I accidentally got one. You didn't accidentally. You deliberately.
Speaker 5 (16:54):
Yes, because it's such a monumental medal where it's got
to have two.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
Yeah, why not have two? It's got the Munich arm.
And one just for wearing out and about.
Speaker 5 (17:03):
The wrong Allianz Stadium. And I found that someone's got
one on eBay for sale. $ 10, 000 for sales.
Speaker 3 (17:09):
I don't understand.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
Why would someone pay that kind of money for one
they didn't do? What do they do with it?
Speaker 5 (17:15):
Look, I question that too. Because obviously someone's buying it
who didn't do the marathon for starters. So that's a lie.
But these, I mean, there's only 40,000 of these medals
out there that has got the... the wrong Allianz Stadium.
So someone has seen... That's quite a lot.
Speaker 4 (17:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (17:32):
40,000.
Speaker 10 (17:32):
I mean, yeah.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
Not exactly scarce.
Speaker 5 (17:36):
No, but I don't... As a marathon runner or someone
who's done a couple now, like, I don't want to
lose that medal.
Speaker 3 (17:41):
Do you know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (17:41):
Like, I earned that. So I've got the spare.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
You earned one of them.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (17:46):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
Okay. Thank you. Yeah, you're right. You're absolutely right.
Speaker 5 (17:50):
So wish me luck with that for today. And then
the week's going to finish off well because we're going
to be broadcasting live from the NFL or... A car park,
at least anyway, on.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
Friday, which is going to be great. The twitchy lawyers
at this restaurant, we don't have the broadcast rights.
Speaker 3 (18:04):
Car park.
Speaker 1 (18:05):
That's what you'll hear in all the promotional channels. We
are live from the MCG car park.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
For the American sports event.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
Or even, I worry that after nine today, we'll get
a phone call. We can't even say MCG. We don't
have the rights for that. We can only say we
are live from a car park this Friday. Tune in
to hear Car Park Friday. It's our R & B Friday.
Car Park Friday. It's a vibe. It's a scene. The
(18:35):
success of this week will all be determined what happens
after tomorrow's show. Tomorrow, I'm reunited with a dear friend
and a former colleague of the show. The one and only,
one of the most beautiful human beings in the world,
Shane Crawford. Just genuinely one of the kind. Actually was
the first friend ever. And phone number I ever made
when I moved to Australia. Oh, wow.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
I didn't know that.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
He was doing that TV show. He doesn't do it anymore. Postcards.
And me and him hit it off like a house
on fire. We were filming for the day. And bless him,
at the end of the day, when we met, he
didn't know who I was. He gave me a Lyft home.
And he gave me his phone number. And we became friends.
This literally was one of the earliest friends I made
here and that. So Crawford and I hired him. He
was our footy correspondent. Then we had to fire him because...
(19:19):
He wasn't actually interested in talking about footy. I remember
one Friday when I realized, maybe time to say goodbye, Crawf. Hey,
let's talk about this weekend's games. And he went, must we?
And he always used to bring in a notepad with
no notes. There were no notes. But anyway, I'm going
on to his TV show, House of Wellness, to talk
about my book. And so I got sent yesterday the
(19:40):
questions that Crawf will be asking me. And I haven't
worked with him before. He will not be sticking to this. Yeah.
He won't be, he won't, whatever you say to him
before the TV show and the taping, this is not
what he'll ask me. So really, I kind of feel
like a hostage situation going to Croft's own lair tomorrow,
the House of Wellness. So I think it comes out,
(20:01):
it's pre-recorded, so it's about half ten tomorrow morning. And
so I think it's on about two or three weeks' time.
You'll probably be able to see, when you watch it,
you'll know what my internal monologue is. Where's he going
now with this?
Speaker 3 (20:13):
Where are we going? But I cannot wait.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
The Christian O'Connell Show podcast.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
Christian, earlier this morning I heard Rio say that CPU
stands for Computer Processing Unit. It's incorrect. It actually stands
for Central Processing Unit. Jared, he is kicking himself.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
I'm not a geek, so I wouldn't know such a thing.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
He is kicking himself. He's back with the lads tomorrow
night at LARP Club. Christian, rate my week five out
of five for me. Today is my last day at
work before I take annual leave off to the Cook
Islands for my 50th next week.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
Lisa.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
Christian, my week sucks so far. I give it two
out of five. My husband is influenza, but it's man
flu on steroids. Me and my girls can't hack being
in the house with him. Wowee, how quickly we said
goodbye to Father's Day.
Speaker 4 (21:02):
They're the victim in this situation.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
Emma, Christian, my week so far, five out of five.
The weather is turning and going for walks in the
sun again. It's such a simple pleasure that can lift
a week and a mood. Beautiful you said, Emma. Plus
meal prep for the whole week, so less time cooking,
more time for leisure and fun. Leisure time feels like
an old-fashioned phrase, doesn't it? What do you do with
(21:29):
your leisure time? Does anyone have hobbies these days? Don't
tell me we're spending too long on our phones that
we don't have. Someone asked me the day what hobbies
I have and I was like, none.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
Stamp collecting. What's happened to you when people used to
have hobbies? Yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
What would you say is yours, Pats?
Speaker 3 (21:50):
We don't have hobbies, do we?
Speaker 7 (21:51):
No, we don't.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
Too busy.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
If your parents are too busy anyway.
Speaker 8 (21:54):
Yeah, that's it.
Speaker 7 (21:55):
I'd say like wandering through antique shops, but I don't
even do that anymore.
Speaker 3 (21:59):
Remember you were going to buy a church, Patsy?
Speaker 7 (22:01):
I would love to buy a church. I would still
love to buy a church to live in, like a
little weekender.
Speaker 3 (22:06):
That could be a hobby.
Speaker 7 (22:07):
Could it? I couldn't do it up though.
Speaker 10 (22:10):
Church buying.
Speaker 4 (22:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
Yeah, I actually regret asking.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
The Christian O'Connell Show podcast.
Speaker 1 (22:18):
Do you have a hobby? Turns out quite a few
of you do have hobbies. Intern Pete, would you say
kayaking is a hobby for you or side hustle?
Speaker 3 (22:25):
Yeah, side hustle. Yeah, hobby.
Speaker 5 (22:27):
Yeah, I've got a few hobbies. I'm a bit of
a hobbyist, I guess you could say. I'm into kayaking.
I'm into running. Play a bit of guitar. I can
play a couple of little songs. I'm going to a
new hobby this weekend, Aura Battles. I don't know if
you guys have heard about Aura Battles yet, but there
are new things taking off.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
What's this?
Speaker 5 (22:43):
It's a mixture of basically dance, rap, fashion walk-offs, and
just internet nonsense. And you battle it out against another person,
and however the crowds go crazy, if they go crazy for.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
You, you win. Oh, what fun. Yeah, you competing?
Speaker 3 (22:58):
No, I'm not going to compete.
Speaker 5 (22:59):
I'm just going to go and have a look at
it before I go to a wedding on Saturday afternoon.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
You should compete. You've got fashion.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
I don't know many that could go up against the
aura of intern peace.
Speaker 10 (23:10):
No way.
Speaker 5 (23:11):
No, aura battles is apparently the new thing.
Speaker 1 (23:14):
I'm so middle-aged, I thought you meant aura rings. No,
not at all. Hey, what's your readiness score?
Speaker 3 (23:19):
It's 152. It's your blood oxygen. I might start organising
my aura battles. Yeah, come on.
Speaker 5 (23:30):
Oh, that's like broadcast.
Speaker 10 (23:32):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
Oh, let us know how that goes. That sounds fun. Christian,
my hobby is the father of two boys, 10 and 6.
I play golf twice a year. Does that count?
Speaker 3 (23:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
Christian Cameron here. My wife and I, we put LED
lights on Lego sets, mainly houses, cars and trucks. Christian,
this isn't my hobby, but I had a friend I'm
no longer a friend with who used to collect fingernails. Oh, yuck.
Speaker 6 (23:57):
Oh, not a hobby.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
That's actually frightening.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
That's a red flag.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
You'd unfriend that person. You just would. Hobbies, Christian. I
started jigsaw puzzles a few years ago. This is Richard.
Of some of my favorite album covers. You'd love this.
I wish I'd never come. I've brought many jigsaws. I'm
afraid to say I will spend... doing the edges. And
(24:21):
then in my mind, once the edges are done, it's done.
That middle bit is too complicated for me. I'm out.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
I got the corners.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
Got the corners. This jigsaw is now done. That middle
bit is here.
Speaker 3 (24:34):
My partner loves puzzling.
Speaker 4 (24:35):
He's a big puzzler, but he's a very also kind man,
but he turns into a psycho with puzzling.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
Will not let me touch it. Will not let me
near it.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
Only time has ever spent with me. I've got the mat,
that green sort of felt mat.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
Yes, you fold up.
Speaker 4 (24:47):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
Christian, my hobby is astronomy. Some stargazing along with discovering
the universe, what's in it and what it's made of.
Why are you an Australian doing that? And teaching at our... Hey,
we had the dish. Yeah, and what's happened since that?
What are you doing with the dish? Why don't I
have a little peekaboo out there, guys, okay? Pick up
(25:08):
some binos or a telescope. Don't leave it to listener
Catherine having a little stargazing out there, trying to see
the little green men that could be waving at us
right now. Trying to get in touch. I'm very late
to the party at this hobby cushion. I took it
up in my 50s, but I'm having a ball discovering
my inner space geek. That's from Catherine.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
The Christian O'Connell Show.
Speaker 1 (25:29):
Go on.
Speaker 2 (25:31):
Podcast.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
All right, we were doing What Are The Odds? Your
stories of coincidence and chance. We do this every Wednesday. Rio,
I believe you've got a story.
Speaker 3 (25:39):
Yes, from last Saturday. I was just coming back from
the Sydney Swans.
Speaker 4 (25:43):
Massive win. I was meeting my mate at the Imperial
in Paddington. I'm on the phone to him trying to
figure out where are you? Where can I meet you? Mid-conversation,
he stops. He goes, oh, sorry, I was distracted. Some
really famous guy walked past.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
Can't remember his name. Then I just shot my shot.
Speaker 4 (26:00):
And the only reason this name was in my head
was because Patsy was going on about the show Dalliance
on Friday.
Speaker 1 (26:06):
Hugo Weaving.
Speaker 6 (26:08):
No way.
Speaker 3 (26:08):
Maybe it was Hugo Weaving. And he goes, it is
Hugo Weaving. The guy from Matrix. Are you kidding? He
was at the game? He was walking through Paddington after
the game.
Speaker 8 (26:19):
Mr.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
Anderson.
Speaker 7 (26:22):
Did he have that long beard still that he's got
in Dalliance?
Speaker 3 (26:26):
I didn't walk past it.
Speaker 7 (26:26):
He's got the big ZZ Top beard going on.
Speaker 1 (26:30):
That's a great story. I got a what are the
odds as well. I got a voice note yesterday. Someone
sent me. They're reading my book. It's a comedian who's
just at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival, just finished last week.
While he was there in the last few days, he
was reading the bit in my book where I talk
about Billy Connolly, Scottish comedian, one of the world's greatest
standard comedians ever, and the influence he had on me
(26:50):
as a teenager. And as he's reading it, he looks up.
He's in a venue in Edinburgh where Billy Connolly did
his first ever gig.
Speaker 3 (26:59):
Whoa, that is.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
Send me a photo of it.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
That is nuts.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
Yeah, yeah, I've saved the photo to my gallery. I
love it. It's the first place.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
He was reading.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
He's at the source of Billy Connolly where it all began.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
Wow. Yeah, what are the odds? What a sacred place.
Speaker 6 (27:14):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
All right, we have some great stories here. Julie, good morning.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
Good morning.
Speaker 6 (27:20):
Good morning.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
Morning, Julie. Welcome to the show. What are the odds, Julie?
Speaker 8 (27:24):
Okay, so my partner and I went on a romantic
weekend to a winery, and we were put in our room,
and we were really looking forward to watching this Netflix series.
And when we got into the room, the Netflix wasn't
working in this room, so.
Speaker 10 (27:42):
I bet your husband.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
Had deliberately changed the password.
Speaker 3 (27:44):
Oh, what will we do in this bedroom.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
I guess?
Speaker 8 (27:48):
We made a little complaint and we got upgraded.
Speaker 3 (27:51):
Wow.
Speaker 8 (27:52):
So we got into this nice new special room and
we were all excited, hopped into bed, ready to watch
our Netflix, turn on the Netflix. And as I turn
the Netflix on, I see my daughter's name, my son's
name and my ex-husband's name.
Speaker 6 (28:09):
What?
Speaker 8 (28:10):
So my ex-husband was there in the same room, in
the same bed with.
Speaker 7 (28:19):
His new wife.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
That is incredible.
Speaker 8 (28:23):
And I just, what the?
Speaker 10 (28:27):
Wow.
Speaker 8 (28:28):
So we're in the same romantic room having the same
romantic holiday.
Speaker 1 (28:33):
Did you change rooms or did you stay in the beds?
Speaker 8 (28:36):
Well, I stayed in the bed.
Speaker 1 (28:38):
Nice room.
Speaker 3 (28:38):
It's a nice upgrade.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
Wowee.
Speaker 3 (28:48):
It wasn't a mood killer, Julie?
Speaker 12 (28:52):
No.
Speaker 3 (28:52):
Oh, we don't.
Speaker 1 (28:53):
It's not our business to know.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
It's not our business.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
I keep telling you, the sex lives of listeners is
not our business. Or is it now every Wednesday? The
sex lies of listeners.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
I'll do.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
And the first one, was it a mood killer? Lauren,
good morning, Lauren.
Speaker 12 (29:13):
Good morning.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
Love the show, guys.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
Thank you very much, Lauren. Thanks for listening. And thanks
for giving us a call this morning. What's your story
for us?
Speaker 12 (29:20):
So a few years ago I had an appointment with
a hand surgeon and after the appointment I went out
shopping and went to a bookshop and I bought one
of the mystery books where it's wrapped up in plain
paper and they just have a few key words on it.
So I thought, you know, treat yourself. Bought the book
and when I opened it up, she was the author
of the book.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
That's handy. Thank you.
Speaker 3 (29:45):
She might not have heard you. That's handy.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
Right reaction first time and um that is incredible i
mean what are the odds.
Speaker 12 (30:00):
What are the odds indeed what are.
Speaker 1 (30:02):
The odds indeed And was it a mood killer? Oh, no,
that was the other caller. Now, thank you, Lauren. Thanks
for calling in. Let's go to Aaron now.
Speaker 3 (30:09):
Morning, Aaron.
Speaker 10 (30:11):
Hey, Christian.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
Good morning, Aaron. Welcome to the show, buddy. What's your
story for us?
Speaker 3 (30:15):
Aaron, what are the odds?
Speaker 6 (30:17):
I've been trying to ring in for a few weeks
to tell you my story of what are the odds.
Speaker 10 (30:22):
I'm glad I finally got through. My brother, five years ago, went.
Speaker 6 (30:27):
Into a jeweler to get a really nice TAG Heuer
watch battery replaced and all put back together and pressure
tested as they do for a TAG watch. And the
jeweler said, righto, we'll see you at the end of
the week. It'll be ready to pick up. So the
end of the week comes around and my brother goes
back into the jeweler. And as he's walking up to
(30:50):
the counter of the jeweler, There's a guy already standing
at the counter of the jeweler and he says, hi,
good afternoon. My name's Kieran White and I'm here to
pick up my tag watch.
Speaker 10 (31:03):
And my brother.
Speaker 6 (31:04):
Freezes, absolutely freezes in the middle of the shop and goes,
oh my God, this guy must have hurt me at
the start of the week. And he's here to pick
up my watch and nick it. So my brother walks
up to this guy at the counter and quite forcefully
puts his hand on his shoulder and says, hey, I'm
Kieran White.
Speaker 10 (31:25):
I don't know what you're up to.
Speaker 3 (31:26):
I'm Spartacus White.
Speaker 10 (31:29):
But I am here to pick up my tag watch.
Speaker 6 (31:33):
And the guy spins around and says, I beg your pardon,
I'm Kieran White.
Speaker 10 (31:39):
And I'm here to pick up my tag. So the
jeweler says, whoa, whoa, whoa, what is going on?
Speaker 6 (31:47):
Hang on a second. I'm going to need to see
some ID. So they both produce their driver's license. They
are both Kieran White, and they are both there to
pick up a tag.
Speaker 1 (31:58):
This is a hall of famer.
Speaker 3 (32:01):
Aaron, what a story.
Speaker 10 (32:03):
Wait for it. Wait for it. Because I've got more
to that story.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
How can there be more?
Speaker 10 (32:09):
Five years rolls around after this story. Five years.
Speaker 6 (32:13):
Current day, two weeks ago, my brother goes in to
get his car serviced. He walks in and the service
advisor says, hi, can I have your name? He types
the name into the computer and the service guy goes,
it's a bit odd.
Speaker 10 (32:28):
And my brother goes, what's wrong?
Speaker 6 (32:30):
And he says, Paul, there's two Range Rovers booked in
for servicing today, and they're both Kieran White.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
And my brother goes, nah, nah, nah.
Speaker 6 (32:41):
And just as he's saying that, guess who walks in
the door to have his car serviced?
Speaker 3 (32:46):
Kieran bloody White again.
Speaker 10 (32:48):
Kieran White again.
Speaker 2 (32:52):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (32:54):
That's crazy.
Speaker 1 (32:56):
Wow. Once is incredible, right? Once is incredible if that
happened to the Watchers. But to have it again five
years later is astonishing. That is two stories.
Speaker 6 (33:08):
It's like they're twins living separate lives, but they have
the same.
Speaker 10 (33:14):
It's quite remarkable.
Speaker 1 (33:15):
The two Kieran Whites. And, you know, they say it
comes in threes. At some point in the future, you
can't rule out there's another reunion at some moment, you know?
Speaker 3 (33:24):
Well, if it's a tag, watch a Range Rover. Are
they skiing?
Speaker 1 (33:32):
Hey, listen, Aaron, that's a Hall of Famer on What
Are The Odds? We're going to give you the $ 250
to spend at Chemist Warehouse. Instant win for us. That's brilliant.
Speaker 10 (33:41):
Amazing. Glad I could share it with you guys.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
Yeah, I'm glad you finally got through, Aaron. Thank you
for being persistent. That is an incredible story. And Aaron,
you told it brilliantly as well. Really well done. Thank you.
Speaker 10 (33:50):
Thanks.
Speaker 2 (33:52):
The Christian O'Connell Show podcast.
Speaker 1 (33:56):
Now, this situation we have at the moment where You know,
we need to get in turn beat. Why are you
hiding behind your notepad?
Speaker 3 (34:03):
Because you're about to be a naughty boy.
Speaker 1 (34:04):
You're a coward.
Speaker 3 (34:04):
You're about to be a naughty boy.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
You just said to me, you just said to me, Rio,
you should mention this to Pete. It's the funniest way.
It's the funniest way to get Pete to Melbourne if
the tight bosses don't want to stump up for a
flight so that he can go and cover all the
action before the game Friday.
Speaker 3 (34:20):
It's objectively the funniest way to get. It's not the
nicest way, but it is the funniest way. Why is
it not the nicest way?
Speaker 1 (34:28):
A question if i may let me just let me
just you know so uh we just uh lovely listener
called tammy just said hey you know my husband is
driving back tomorrow from sydney to melbourne he's happy to
give intern pete a lift it's a really kind thing
to do scott now he's the guy married to tammy
scott's listening at this christian heard that my wife tammy's
message you the offer is there it is in a
(34:49):
truck leaving seven hills around 8 a.m rolling into melbourne
By 5.30pm, if the tight bosses want to save money,
they do, Scott, then this is an option.
Speaker 3 (35:03):
Hello?
Speaker 5 (35:04):
Sorry, was that for Scott or for me? Sorry, I
wasn't sure if you were talking to me.
Speaker 1 (35:07):
No, it's for me. Just to say to you, it's
just an option. It's just an option.
Speaker 3 (35:11):
It is a great option.
Speaker 5 (35:12):
I grew up on a dairy farm. We had a truck.
I understand what a truck is, so I can work
with that, which is great. Scott, thank you so much
for the.
Speaker 1 (35:19):
So get to Seven Hills tomorrow for an 8am.
Speaker 3 (35:22):
Seven Hills.
Speaker 1 (35:22):
Pack it all, get back.
Speaker 5 (35:24):
Yep, I can pack a bag.
Speaker 3 (35:25):
I can do everything.
Speaker 5 (35:27):
Anything you need.
Speaker 3 (35:27):
This would be great.
Speaker 5 (35:28):
I appreciate the.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
We'll see you tomorrow about half five, half six. We'll
be ready for you.
Speaker 5 (35:32):
Yep, ready to go. So, Patsy, I see you shaking
your head.
Speaker 7 (35:37):
You know you have a right to say no. No,
that's a horrendously long day, and then he needs to.
Speaker 3 (35:45):
Front up the next morning.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
He's not driving. He can, like, dose. Oh, his feet
up on the dash.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
Rub it up, rub it up. You get it on
the old CB radio, those truckers have. 10-4, Big Papa
on the road.
Speaker 1 (35:56):
10-4, bird dog. Coppers up ahead. Speed trap.
Speaker 5 (36:00):
All right, well, we've got a couple of stops along
the way. We'll stop off at the Albury Wodonga, maybe
get ourselves a nice meat pie there perhaps with Scott.
Speaker 3 (36:07):
That would be nice.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
Suddenly it's an adventure.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
Oh, yes.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
You can't stop off anywhere on a boring old plane. Oh,
we'll get you there. Boring, oh, we're landing.
Speaker 3 (36:16):
Oh, wheels up.
Speaker 1 (36:17):
Oh, well done, Pilot Pete.
Speaker 5 (36:19):
Let's give you a call, Scott.
Speaker 3 (36:21):
All righty.
Speaker 1 (36:23):
Someone had to say something. Today's time waster. We're looking
for your picnic bands. Where did you come up with
this from?
Speaker 3 (36:33):
I'm actually really happy with that. No, no, I'm happy
with mine.
Speaker 1 (36:35):
At first I was like, and also, let's stop with
the bogus national so-and-so day. I don't read them out
because they're all lies.
Speaker 3 (36:42):
It's real.
Speaker 1 (36:43):
It is not national picnic day. We're two days into spring.
Speaker 3 (36:46):
No one is.
Speaker 1 (36:47):
Running out to their local park with a blanket and
a hamper.
Speaker 4 (36:50):
It is national picnic week, I believe.
Speaker 1 (36:52):
You're kidding. No, it isn't.
Speaker 3 (36:53):
Is it really?
Speaker 4 (36:54):
You're kidding me.
Speaker 3 (36:55):
Why not wait until the summer? I mean, I know
it's spring. It's nice, but it's not, hey, let's go down.
Speaker 1 (37:00):
Let's have a picnic today. Rug up. Up for grabs
today for your best picnic bands. $ 500 Holy Moly gift card.
Holy Moly Golf. It is the wild side of mini golf.
All right. Picnic bands. The cured meats. Gold. Earth, wind,
and fire up the barbecue.

Speaker 3 (37:25):
Oh, I thought it was gold. Two back-to-back blanket ones here,
because you've got to have that blanket.
Speaker 1 (37:31):
You've got to.
Speaker 3 (37:33):
They always shake it up in the air. There, that blanket.
Speaker 1 (37:36):
Blanket eyed piece.
Speaker 3 (37:37):
Silver plus. Blanket street boys.
Speaker 1 (37:40):
That's gold. And Tani loves a picnic.
Speaker 6 (37:45):
Who?
Speaker 1 (37:46):
80s rapper MC Hamper.
Speaker 3 (37:47):
Oh, very good gold.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
Happy time.
Speaker 3 (37:51):
Gold as well.
Speaker 10 (37:52):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (37:53):
All right, what have you got there?
Speaker 3 (37:54):
The Frisbee-gees. Oh, you're right, a Frisbee. Wow, you got creative.
What else is in this scene? Well, I'm glad you asked.
Speaker 1 (38:03):
Oh, no.
Speaker 4 (38:05):
Just turn right from the Frisbee-gees and you'll see the
bocce boys.
Speaker 3 (38:09):
Oh, bocce.
Speaker 1 (38:11):
Someone's fancy.
Speaker 3 (38:14):
Who's carrying?
Speaker 1 (38:15):
Have you got everything?
Speaker 3 (38:16):
You got the wine? You got the glass? You got
the bocce, Dad? You got the bocce? And who's that
holding a kite? It's Kitey Perry. Oh, wowee.
Speaker 4 (38:25):
And then, jeez, I'm really jealous because Eminem's got a
really nice spot under the tree.
Speaker 6 (38:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (38:31):
He's slim in the shady.
Speaker 1 (38:32):
Oh, and that's gold. All gold, Sir Rio.
Speaker 2 (38:35):
The Christian O'Connell Show podcast.
Speaker 1 (38:38):
Watch out, Pete. Your lip's here.
Speaker 3 (38:39):
Oh, okay.
Speaker 1 (38:43):
The air brakes are on.
Speaker 3 (38:45):
Here we go. Truck stop Pete. Oh, truck stop Pete.
Speaker 1 (38:50):
Pete, now the company Big Wigs have heard that there's
a far cheaper, well, free, actually, option. I'm afraid we're
fighting the tide. If you want to get those MLS
signed off, the chief content officer, Kerry, is saying it's
a cracking idea. Pete could load up with bin stickers
up and down on the truck as well. It's a
(39:11):
travelling option. 10-hour billboard.
Speaker 5 (39:13):
Oh, it's fun being big management with ideas.
Speaker 6 (39:16):
Yes.
Speaker 5 (39:16):
I love it.
Speaker 10 (39:17):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (39:17):
That's making money for the company.
Speaker 10 (39:20):
Yeah, that is. You're right.
Speaker 12 (39:21):
You're right.
Speaker 1 (39:23):
Suddenly, you're a revenue stream, not a cost center, Pete.
Speaker 3 (39:26):
Hey, hey. It's valuable.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
So what happened to your other colleagues that weren't chipping
into the company? Streaming. One word. Streaming.
Speaker 3 (39:36):
Don't want to say it out loud. The FMD.
Speaker 10 (39:38):
Are over.
Speaker 3 (39:41):
I should have got on that truck.
Speaker 1 (39:42):
You should have got on that truck.
Speaker 3 (39:43):
Thank you, Scott.
Speaker 1 (39:45):

Gift Card, the wild side of mini golf?
Speaker 3 (41:40):
Stephen with the Finsker Brothers.
Speaker 1 (41:42):
Well done.
Speaker 3 (41:42):
You are the winner.
Speaker 1 (41:44):
So what a big show it is tomorrow morning. Tomorrow
on the show, then, a really big thing that we're
giving away. It is completely sold out. NFL in action
right here in Australia at the MCG. Sold out. We
have a pair of tickets to go to a super
fan tomorrow. Totally going to change your year. If suddenly
(42:05):
you're going to be there on us this Friday, tomorrow
morning at eight, we'll be giving the tickets away. Pete
will be there from 6 a.m. Friday. Yeah. We just
got to work out the middle bit now of how
does he come here from Sydney to Melbourne?
Speaker 5 (42:21):
Yeah, Scott's message through as well, and he just said
something on the lines, he's moving liquid clay tomorrow morning.
That's what gets dropped off, and then he heads back
to Melbourne, which apparently you can make paper out of
it and stuff.
Speaker 13 (42:31):
So that's what's on the haul there. So it's not
sheep or cattle or anything like that. None of us
are wandering, and we didn't need that. Chuckle Sisters, Chuckle Sisters,
what are some of the other options to get our
man here?
Speaker 3 (42:42):
Hello.
Speaker 9 (42:43):
Well, he can get a bus.
Speaker 3 (42:44):
Hello. That's a greeting. So it's 9 o'clock.
Speaker 1 (42:48):
I've got to be on my dances.
Speaker 3 (42:49):
We're in overtime.
Speaker 9 (42:51):
Hello.
Speaker 3 (42:52):
Hello, Frank Walker here.
Speaker 8 (42:54):
Sorry.
Speaker 9 (42:55):
Well, anyway.
Speaker 3 (42:57):
Hello, by the way. Hi, how are you?
Speaker 1 (42:59):
Red looks great on the Chuckle Sisters today. It's popping, girls.
Speaker 7 (43:02):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (43:03):
Oh, they talk as one. How terrifying. Like a couple
of evil twins. All right, evil twins. Chuckle Sisters, what
have we found? Alternative ways to get Pete.
Speaker 9 (43:11):
Okay, he can get a Greyhound bus. He leaves Sydney
5.30 p.m. It's 12 hours. He won't get to Melbourne
until 5.30 a.m.
Speaker 3 (43:19):
How much is that?
Speaker 9 (43:20):
Yeah, that one's expensive. That's $ 159.
Speaker 10 (43:22):
$ 159, okay.
Speaker 5 (43:22):
Out of the budget.
Speaker 11 (43:25):
What we can look at though, kind of, the train,
it's 10 hours, 50 minutes, and it's only $ 78. But
the train today is full. So we could only do
tomorrow and he'd get in at 7.30, so he'd miss.
Speaker 1 (43:41):
Like No, no, no, no. He's got to be down
there tailgating, Pete, at 6am.
Speaker 11 (43:47):
One more option, and this is a Hail Mary pass.
Speaker 1 (43:49):
The company actually just buys the tickets?
Speaker 3 (43:50):
Without a doubt.
Speaker 11 (43:52):
Or we have a friend that has a helicopter in
Sydney that could fly him here in four hours.
Speaker 1 (43:57):
Who is this friend we've never heard about?
Speaker 4 (43:59):
You don't know because your helicopter flights all the way
from Sydney to Melbourne, right?
Speaker 1 (44:03):
I'm not sure you can do that.
Speaker 11 (44:05):
They might be bringing someone else that has heaps of
money and they're like, oh, he sounds like a hoot.
Speaker 9 (44:10):
Let's get him on our flight.
Speaker 3 (44:12):
Just putting it out there.
Speaker 1 (44:13):
And this is apparently producing.
Speaker 3 (44:15):
I'm just putting it out there.
Speaker 1 (44:16):
So our only way at the moment is some mysterious
Daddy Warbucks who happens to be listening right now, who's
got an empty seat on his chopper.
Speaker 11 (44:23):
This is what happens when our bosses.
Speaker 3 (44:24):
I'm going home.
Speaker 2 (44:27):
The Christian O'Connell Show.
Speaker 3 (44:29):
Go on.
Speaker 2 (44:30):
Podcast.
