Speaker 1 (01:13):
Good Morning, Team, Good morning, Patsy Money, good morning, Rio Morning,
Good morning.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
Intern, Pete, Good morning guys.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Was on Tuesday show. We asked you how was your
day yesterday? How did you start the week. How was
your Monday? Evan says, Monday toughest of the week. Normally
we get it down to three words. I want to
expand it now, so we're going to try something different.
The way that the internet, the way the world works
now is ratings. Everything's rated, everything's rated and reviewed. You
don't set foot in a restaurant or order a single
(01:43):
takeaway without I always do that now, it's amazing. There
was a time not that long ago in our lives
where you just took a chance. Yeah, you made a
decision to have an average meal. Yes, no one to
complain to, and you got on with your night and
day and we're all fine. The world turned kept on turning.
Now you know, any takeaway it takes minutes.
Speaker 5 (02:05):
Even parks, local parks and a rating, don't we it's
forensic analysis, too much information.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
There's a guy I follow on at Instagram who rates
park benchres around the world. He has found his first
ever five out of five. It was amazing. He was
actually reading with predy emotional. Anyway, I want you to
rate out five your Monday Monday out of five and
I will accept halfs. Maybe it was a two and
(02:33):
a half. Maybe I hope not that you had one
and a half star Monday, and also then a couple
of lines to review your Monday, so I've written mine.
It's two out of five guys, it's a two star Monday.
Underground car park at the shopping center. She says, five minutes.
I turned the car engine off that much. That's how
(02:55):
much I believe her. An hour later, my wife comes
that came out with a laundry basket and a candle.
Nobody has ever popped into kmart for five minutes, Nobody
for me once, Sarah for me for twenty eight years.
Why did I fall for this? You're a wait in
the car, Chris, You just wait in the car, no
phone signal, no phone signal, was stuck in an underground
(03:18):
wall car park for it was over an hour, And
I tell you what, You'll have too much time to
question all the choices that led you to this moment.
I might start a podcast series stuck in a car.
You know it's just me, and then the guest arrives,
They get in my car and I interview there we
will both break down together in a darkened situation with
no phone signal under a Kmart. I hope she.
Speaker 5 (03:39):
Cracked the window for you, like you do.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
When dad's in hot cars, dec on the floor. There
needs a bit of RSPCA for dads. I saw families
going in, coming out, going in, coming out. Minutes I
tried to call her, no answer, no phone service. I
reckon she'd worked out where the exact black spot was.
She's a woman. I kept texting you, okay, the only
(04:03):
person that okay with me breaking down there rapidly. How
long can someone be I'll tell you what they want?
Never is five minutes? No fall for the five minutes, lie,
No five minutes. I was just saying, give myself. When
she came back, she went, so it took a bit longer.
I were well played, Wow played the only four here
(04:25):
is me? Wowye still falling for that two star Monday
for me at the end of the day as well.
Speaker 5 (04:33):
That's right. At least it's out of the way. Nay
can have a five star Tuesday.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
Yeah, yeah, you're right, you're right, You're all right, Rio
out of five? How was your Monday yesterday?
Speaker 5 (04:43):
Mine really is a five? And I'm still buzzing today.
After sixteen long years, sixteen years of pain and ridicule,
I have won my fantasy football league.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Oh wow, I've always.
Speaker 6 (04:58):
Been the butt of the joke in this group chat.
Speaker 5 (05:00):
I've had the rudest, meanest nicknames assigned to me in
that group chat for so long, But no more.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
A wow, actually kind of cham. This is incredible. It's
what's your big giant oversized trophy?
Speaker 6 (05:15):
I know I need one. It's actually I was thinking
about it.
Speaker 5 (05:19):
It's actually going to change the trajectory of my life
because in this group chat, which I talk in every day,
I always get a horrible nickname. There's always some joke
at my expense. But now for the rest of my days,
now that I've.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
Won, You know, we've are you saying that I'm thinking about?
We've replaced the sort of school system with group chat. Yes,
there's a stage and bullying that goes over there, isn't there? Yes?
Speaker 5 (05:42):
Yes, And if you're at the bottom of the wrung,
you dream one day just climbing being one of the
big lads.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
Yes, you know the senior students got their own common room.
Speaker 5 (05:53):
Yes, I've got my prefector in. Yeah, and now I'll
never be the same again. So maybe it's a five
stars Monday, And who knows? What did you have a
wacky name for your team. Can't I can't, couldn't possibly
say it on air?
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Ye?
Speaker 5 (06:08):
Yes, come on, I expected better from you.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
O God, you're kidding me. I really wasn't joking when
I said replaced the school system and I got to
name that route. There's two roots for Australian radio.
Speaker 6 (06:23):
It's a name a year seventeenage boy would give me.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
It's not in the current climate. They're out five for you, sir. Wow,
all right, Pats and uh Pete, we'll do yours next.
You send us yours in as well. Oh four seven
five three one o four three Your Monday rated out
five except half points as well, and then a few
(06:49):
lines reviewing it.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
The Christin O'Connell show podcast.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Okay, rate and review your day yesterday, your Monday? How
did you start the week? Out of five and then
give us a few lines. Patsy, what'st Monday? Did you have? Mate?
Speaker 4 (07:05):
Not very good?
Speaker 6 (07:06):
Point five for me?
Speaker 7 (07:09):
Oh, I thought that was on a police drinking No, no,
excuse me.
Speaker 8 (07:14):
Point five at school pickup, Audrey was not impressed. My
fifteen year old had a science excursion yesterday and you know,
kids these days, you can't just give them any old
excursion like you could. For us in the seventies and eighties.
We were happy to just go for a bus.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Just getting on a bus, yeah, going anywhere. It was
a big deal. Just excited, like a day out of prison.
Speaker 8 (07:35):
It really was like one pair up and it's like, right,
something good is going to happen, not for this day
and age. So they had a science experiment.
Speaker 6 (07:43):
Get this.
Speaker 8 (07:44):
They drove round trip three hours in the school bus.
They went to a location, this wetlands location. I said, well,
what did you do?
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Yeah, yeah, we went to wetlands and in the UK.
It wasn't just wetlands. It was rain, it was in
the winds. It was a wet wabash. It was more
like bleaklands.
Speaker 8 (08:03):
Well that's what it was like yesterday. And I said, well,
what was the experiment you had to do. I'm sure
you learned something. She said, Mum, we got a hula
hoop shucked it on the ground. We were there for
twenty minutes. We had to report back what was in
the hoop ah? Come on, grass and wildflowers, she said.
Then we got back on the bus and went back
(08:24):
to school and we were there.
Speaker 4 (08:25):
In time for lunch. To have lunch at school. She
said it sucked enormously.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
That is disappointing. That's that's that's no stars.
Speaker 8 (08:32):
I know, I know she was not impressed. We heard
about it all evening.
Speaker 6 (08:37):
Schools love wetlands and mangrove so.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
Well as beach erosion. Every school year it is like
we're looking at another beach erosi. Sheill be doing something
that I pick up a shovel, those crappy little clipboards
and stuff that cut out you. Actually we had to
always go and quiz the locals, and the only people
that would speach you was the old people or the
local pedophiles.
Speaker 8 (09:06):
But all the amazing things to do in this country
and they go to a wetland for twenty minutes.
Speaker 7 (09:13):
What are we paying these face marks beach erosions?
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Come on, schools, we're onto you. Switch it up. We're
in the four K streaming world. They're going to look
at that and guys boring. They want to get back
on their phonels. They're not wetland. Maxim Pete Review, Pea
Reting Review or bakay. I love the way of doing this.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
By the way, I'm going to go with a three
out of five.
Speaker 7 (09:43):
But I'm happy to be judged and pulled back down
or up after I take it on Monday.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
Well, we're not going to judge you all.
Speaker 7 (09:48):
I feel free, feel free. Indeed, I had a good
bit of physio yesterday, obviously getting ready for the Sydney
Marathon this weekend.
Speaker 4 (09:54):
However, a little bit too expensive. Do we think two
hundred and twenty dollars is too much for a bit
of how were you in?
Speaker 1 (10:00):
Therefore?
Speaker 7 (10:01):
Though, like fifty minutes or so, with a bit of
console and a bit of upselling and a bit of
let's do some post marathon.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
For they up selling you don't answer. You know what?
Speaker 5 (10:12):
The most useless part of the physio the massage that
does nothing. You're just like, I guess we've got twenty minutes.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
To twenty minutes that you have to do that sort
of that skeleton and ask you the circle where does
it hurt? And I just told you I actually just
was in front of thiss was here. I need to
draw on this man? Are you going to look at
this man? You will go to just find where that
shoulder is. Luckily you do this cruise cave drawing.
Speaker 5 (10:38):
I can never understand that they'll explain to you what's
happening in your shoulder.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
So the joint is attached to the fe so if
I'm hearing it right, and when we're running the clock down, yeah,
go and get the oils. Let's go to work. That's
what I've come here for. Yeah, absolutely, it's not chitch.
I'm not paying you for that. The clock should start
once you on face down on that really uncomfortable hold.
Speaker 7 (11:03):
Absolutely, which is just for your face.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
What else would it be for go right, don't That was.
Speaker 7 (11:09):
The upsetting obviously, trying to eat healthy. So I had
some good bit of steak, but the jury is out.
The first time I did something pretty crazy as a
qualified chef. I actually cooked my steak in the air fry,
which I had never done. No, I know, I know
it sounds so wrong. I have sent your fighter, but
I do think it.
Speaker 4 (11:29):
Was fine. It was fine.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
Did you season it beforehand?
Speaker 9 (11:32):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (11:32):
Absolutely, yes, with some fresh green chilies as well. So
I'm just trying to basically presentation. It's a fire, the presentation,
it's great you got green only that it's nice. Yeah,
that was all right, bit of brocolhenny. And then final
bad part about the day was I got home early
because I'm renting a pad in the city and I
had a house inspection yesterday what I thought it was.
Speaker 4 (11:51):
But it's actually today, So I was waiting all afternoon for.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
That.
Speaker 4 (11:55):
That is, you make the bed a little bit better.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
But the work's still done.
Speaker 7 (11:59):
Everything well, well, now now I've got to go back
again early today and make sure I do have made
the bed properly, because I rushed out this morning. So
look what I'm saying is it's just one of those
things that when the house inspection had and you just
make that little bit of extra effort that you don't
normally have to do on a day today.
Speaker 4 (12:13):
So I'm going with a three point five.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
All right, you've upgraded yourself now, Christian Connall Show podcast.
This is the Christian O'Connell Show Morning Christian. I lived
by the air fry. I've done perfect chops, steakes, even
a lamb roast that came out perfect, a bit of
Tuscan season and properly. That's from Hayden Craig's Monday's two
(12:35):
stars out of five. That's the most common rating at
the moment. I think that's a sign of a decent Monday. Yeah,
take two that remember that's the sign of being an adult.
Two stars out of five. For Craig Christian, I had
a list of tasks I planned to do after work
before the school pickup. First will shopping at Audi for dinner.
Card wasn't working as bank had an issue. Delays meant
(12:55):
I didn't have time to heat up a lunch before
the pickup. You need to be refueled before that traidered
afternoon pickup. So my lunch yesterday was a can of
pringles for grown up mad Craig put me in a
foul mood, and then I didn't do the laundry. Creg
we get it. We're here for you, buddy, everything, and
(13:21):
I says context some pringles, but not that's not that's
not lunch. Four pm pringles after a great Oh it's
a well known thing, isn't it, the four pm pringle
pick up? But this what it is to be a parent.
The amount of meals or lunch I've had just sometimes
over the sink, honestly, just crystal nice to eating too.
(13:46):
You can't sit down. That is sad annoy No, this
is the way, in fact, for Father's Day. That's what
I probably feel most at home. It's just over horring
over a sink app in my father's day dinner. All right,

Christopher Nolan got shares an imax. You must see an imax.
Speaker 9 (14:33):
You might film not on them, especially for you to
see an imax.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
Win it was added with cownfootloose. All right, So make

ring like pacious, here's no way gone. And would you're
going to go and start to do the Olympic rings rings?
Go there the biggest thank you. Technically, I'd like to

sink eater, and so am I the only one out
(17:10):
of seven kids to carry on this grand tradition. Headwier.
Maybe you should do a cook book cheaping, but the
Bakers doesn't.
Speaker 6 (17:21):
That's very.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
Some phrases won't carry on. Well though Bakers doesn't. I
reckon right now. Probably some of the younger were going,
what's he talking about? You do you mean just a dozen thirteen? Yeah?
Speaker 8 (17:36):
One for the baker to taste?
Speaker 1 (17:38):
Is that what it was for?
Speaker 3 (17:39):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (17:39):

(18:49):
get the bin bags out.
Speaker 6 (18:52):
It's a ghost or something.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
The Christian o'connall Show podcast.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
Just when I thought my family had Father's Day sorted,
a bombshell. A Father's Day bombshell the like I've never
heard before. I can't you. I think everyone who hears
what's happened to my father's stay this year, will feel
a collective.
Speaker 10 (19:20):
Oh oh, I feel like you get a lot of oofs,
and this is the.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
Much It's the right kind of sometimes in life you
need to have a tender anyway. Right now, what a prize?
I can definitely say we've never given anything like this
away this time, I actually mean it. We have never
(19:59):
ever ever and will never ever give away another prize
like this. Now I'm looking at it and we've raised
it up in the studio. The last couple of minutes
me particcating Rio just so you could get the best
angle on Rio's camera, because it deserves it. It's now
part of me. The Onst wants to keep it. Sadly,
this isn't our studio alone. We do share this studio.
(20:21):
And last night Edward and Maguire was coming in to
rock the world with some sports news and he didn't
care for the eagle. You know that because when you
heard what hapened to him Wimen as a kid, one
picked him up and took him away and then he
had to live in a nest for a year. You've
seen the email when never to talk about the eagle.
Now I feel bad now wonder he threw it to
the ground. I get it. The last thing Eddie McGuire
(20:44):
wants to see before he announces the new Bombers coach
is an eagle again right now over his left shoulder.
It doesn't mean as you're watching it left. The last
thing he needs. Guys, that I ever mentioned eagles. Birds
that prayed to Eddie McGuire. That's why he never goes
to the West Coast. Eagles matches, no, no, no. And
part of his aversion therapy is wine got involved with
(21:04):
the Magpies Club, the pipes, the enemy. That's right, you
got it. Any who's e Capoosie. We've come into possession
of a massive framed glassprint of an American bald eagle.
When we were doing a phone in two weeks ago
about the wrong after was telling you how I got
(21:25):
into the wrong uber, someone told us they got a
picture for the husband who's a big bird's a prey fan,
and he loves the Australian eagle, the wedge tailed. And
she believes that she was buying for a thousand dollars
beautiful gift. And that's your thing, a beautiful picture of
a wedgie. However, when he opens it up, she's thinking,
this is the greatest gift ever. He goes is the
(21:46):
wrong egle. She burst into tears. They put it in
the garage. It's been in the garish for two years.
I said, can we have it and give it away?
Today's day. I wanna win this big eagle.
Speaker 6 (21:57):
Ghanna put it.
Speaker 5 (21:58):
On my wallow bald headed eagle, Ganna give Christianna.
Speaker 1 (22:04):
Calling this big eagle. At we just go to the
chuckle sisters here really chucking up today, chuckle sisters. The
dimensions of this are okay.
Speaker 11 (22:16):
So for length wise, we are looking at one hundred
and thirty nine centimeters and then height ninety centimeters, so
that is equivalent to one producer Tina diagonally across eighty
five microphones, forty four Vanetta's, one hundred and twenty one
post it notes, two hundred and eighty t bags, five
(22:37):
hundred and ninety sharpies, twenty eight headphones, one hundred and
forty four cassettes, sixty three CDs, and then eight twelve
inch vinyls.
Speaker 5 (22:47):
Eighty five microphone, eighty five microphones.
Speaker 1 (22:50):
He's the one that stood out the other day. Five
That would be like twenty meters you.
Speaker 11 (22:54):
But no, if you put them all across the front
of it, you'd.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
Have, oh, in the space eighty five who Before we
send this out to the deserved winner, I want to
test that absolutely done, to go around the few remaining
race stations there are. I don't think there are eighty
five stations in Australia, are there now? There's only about
twelve there. It's the last frontier anyone wants to have
(23:19):
been in doing that now. I don't just want this
to go away to a gig pig. We call people
that's try and win stuff and ring every single breakfast
and to give away today what's the I's our song?
This should go to a genuine Eagle fan. Well, I'm
really limiting that that funnel was getting narrow now, isn't it.
(23:40):
I mean it's a niche of a niche of it.
You're a category of what three?
Speaker 5 (23:44):
Maybe there's a Manly Sea Eagles fan the NRL team
in Sydney.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
Maybe in perpose, someone that just wants something that's a
talking point, a very large picture of a beautiful eagle.
Where would you put this in your home? If you
took it home? It's not for me. I'll be honest,
I'm a bird man, you know, I love birds. But
that's it's just huge work. It might meet somebody's bull room,
a rumpus, a bedroom, yep, bedroom.
Speaker 5 (24:11):
Yeah, it's a tone set. I look at that big
powerful that it's haunted, not.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
Like that it flew at me. This can I say, Okay,
it's haunted.
Speaker 5 (24:31):
Producer Kaitlin and I put it on two tiny little
cushions and Christian said no, it needs to be high.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
And to raise eagle. It's a phrase in radio, you
call it are we ready to raise eagle? And it
was time to raise the eagle. Guys, that's not safe.
There's no safe. It's just too powerful. It's too powerful
to seconds.
Speaker 6 (24:50):
Almost crushed me in one piece.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
Is it snake? Oh yeah, that thing's interstructible. It's completely fine.
The next quite earthquake we have in Australia, that that
will be fine. Oh my goodness. Okay, this thing I
totally one thing. Thank god. I even I wasn't sat
there because set back his recovery quite a while. Anyway,
(25:13):
lines are open now. Who wants to win a really
big picture of an eagle caller and tell us why
no gigpigs eagle lovers or someone wants something in the ballroom,
something a bit different, unusual large. Also, you've got to
have a strong wall for this to go on. It's
(25:33):
bringing the house down. Don't come crying to me if
a wall comes tumbling down. If you've got those flimsy
Australian house because it weighs about fifty kilos, it looks
so heavy, all right, call it now. Lines are open
to win the Eagle.
Speaker 3 (25:49):
The Christian O'Connell show podcast.
Speaker 1 (25:52):
We've come into possession of a massive, glass framed, beautiful
print of an eagle American boardded eagle. A wrong gift
brought for somebody I've taken off their hands. Maybe there's more.
We could turn the send to a semi regular feature
with if there's anything you need to you can't get
rid of it, We'll take it off your hands and
(26:14):
give it away. We'll actually call it. We'll take it
off your hands because when they said it's been in
the garritter two years, they didn't what to do with it,
and so now it is gonna be one man's junk
is another man's treasure. I'm just looking at the reasons
why people calling in trom Win this beautiful framed print
of an eagle. Adrian. He is known as the bald Eagle.
(26:38):
Fair enough, doesn't know what else to get for father's date.
Come on, hey, that's actually that's actually one of the
better sort of impromptu ones. Want to get it this
to annoy his wife. Another man hanging by his bed,
just to annoy his wife. Come on, guys, I wanna
win this big eagle.
Speaker 6 (26:58):
Ganna put it.
Speaker 3 (26:59):
On my wall.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
Bald headed eagle.
Speaker 6 (27:03):
Gonna give Christian a call in this big eagle.
Speaker 1 (27:10):
Kristin coome on and welcome to the show.
Speaker 12 (27:13):
Hi, thank you, Christin?
Speaker 4 (27:14):
How are you?
Speaker 1 (27:14):
I'm good? Thank you on the show. So tell us
why you want the big eagle?
Speaker 12 (27:19):
Because I am from originally a town in them called Repanion,
and sometimes we see eagles soaring around and they are amazing,
and I think it would be fabulous to have it
hanging in the local footing nipple club.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
Oh cool, good enough reason, All right, and stay there
might be. Let's go to camera in now goome on
and cameeron. Good morning here, I'm good camera. So why
would you love this huge prince of the eagle?
Speaker 13 (27:45):
Cam I'm just look, I'm a lover of the wedgy,
the wedge cal eagle. The next best thing is the
American board eagle. I'm also surely inter of Holly Davidson's
and the bald eagle is kind of a symbol of
the hollidats. I saw a wedge tail in flight a
little while ago and it inspired me to get a
(28:07):
back piece taboo. When I saw him, all I saw
was peace, power and freedom, and that just he resonated
with me and I just, yeah, how big?
Speaker 1 (28:18):
Are we talking? The whole back?
Speaker 13 (28:19):
Yes? Yeah, I want to get my Why.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
Just get half the back? You haven't seen a one
winged eagle? That's so true. No, you've got to get
both that wing span across his back there. I love
that they are. They are the Western egles. They are beautiful.
Geta what was the three piece there? Peace power, one
of Australia Freedom. That's gorgeous, Peace pound freedom. Is that right?
(28:44):
Cameras that we saw? Yes, cam it's yours. You got
to have this.
Speaker 14 (28:49):
Yes, I love this this.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
I wanted to go to a genuine fan. We found him.
It's you. This would be great, Thank you very much, pleasure.
I love the fact it means that much to you. Now,
where are you going to put it? It is big,
it's it's heavy as well.
Speaker 13 (29:05):
Be careful, straight straight to the poor room the entrance entrance.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
Well wow, anyone trying to break in is gonna go. Guys,
back up, back up this.
Speaker 5 (29:18):
Because you've got it on the front of the house,
but on the back of yourself.
Speaker 1 (29:21):
When you get the you're right, you're right, you're right,
suddenly peace will become power. That's right, yes, and freedom
that's a defender sign. Anyway, Now I'm taking it someone.
We don't need to Cameron, it is yours, sir, Thank
you very much. Thank you now, camera listen. We'll get
it to you as soon as we can, my friend.
(29:41):
And then when you've had it delivered, send us a
message to say the eagle has some landed.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
Thanks Christian Condor Show podcast.
Speaker 1 (29:56):
Christian Simone and Dave here. Simone and Dave generously gifted
the wrong gift to us. They had this eagle print.
They generously gave it to us. It's worth every one
thousand dollars. I'll tell you what did you hear, Cameron.
That is the sound of someone being genuinely grateful. It's
gone to a really genuinely gratefully received home. Christian Simone
(30:19):
and Dave here so happy the Eagle Print West found
a you great home. You really couldn't have picked a
better winner. Thanks so well, Thank you very much guys
for letting us have that as well. All right, let
me talk about Father's Day. First of all. Day by
day you're going to see what I'm asking you to
look out for at the moment, various underwhelming ideas of
what to get Dad. Yesterday, I'm in a shop, very
(30:44):
popular one. I go to a lot of love going there.
A Japanese clothes shop. Okay, no, no, no, there's several
of them, chair and pants. I'm in a very popular
chain or around the world. Actually anyway, right in the
ground level, I go in and there's a table, you know,
(31:06):
the table Father's Day gifts. There's three T shirts cream
brown black. That's it, just plain, that's it. Just three
T shirts cream brown black, Like that's the emotional range
of us dads. How's dad? You know creams could could
(31:29):
get get into brown, That's it. That's the idea. These
this T shirt you sell every day, Why these Father's
Day I imagine they maybe couldn't sell them in brown.
What's a brown T shirt? He said. As soon as
I saw this mud color thing, I thought of you.
Speaker 6 (31:46):
Oh, it's not even a special occasion shirt that would.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
Given me so much. I give it back to you
with a nineteen dollars T shirt. Anyway, my Father's Day
had been sorted on Sunday, and then I found out
yesterday this will be the first Father's Day I will
be alone. No, now I have. I've entered the new
(32:10):
phase of fatherhood, which is called redundancy.
Speaker 15 (32:14):
Oh, corsam all alone. There's no one here, sad me.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
One daughter will be in Japan. The other daughter now
called me yesterday to say it clashes. So if it's
my fault, it clashes dad Father's Day with Battle of
the Bands.
Speaker 6 (32:31):
No, sorry, sorry, sorry that I don't know.
Speaker 15 (32:35):
That, cossam all alone. There's no one here, sad me.
Speaker 5 (32:42):
And if I remember correctly, you did ask to go
with your daughter to this Japan.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
I don't forget prodicicate then said it will be, it'll be.
It'd be wrong if I went. Some people understand boundaries.
Let me say that for another show. So yeah, this
Father's Day, but also no, you gotta be honest, guys,
as they get older, neither our kids live at home anymore.
The job built into it is you should start fading
into the background. And also what I love ething, says
(33:09):
a dad. We have daughters. One's going to be in Japan,
the other one is in Battle of the Bands? Can
you go watch the Battle of the Bands? I did
ask that, No, don't want you in Japan, or don't
want you at the maddle of the Man. You can't
even go to the Battle of It, I said. I
said to her, you you go win the Battle of
(33:29):
the Bend, Papa. This one's for my dad. One three,
say to her, who arranges the mands? We only get
one half day, it's about an hour in the morning.
Who arranges it for Father's Day? All these students that
don't care.
Speaker 5 (33:46):
About and not even during the night, during the day
the day Saturday and Sunday.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
So yeah, So my wife goes to me, what are
you going to do on the big day? For a
walk or something? She goes, well, we can hang out.
Do you want to watch a funny movie with me?
Like we've have done the I want to just forget it,
just forget it this year and then Ruby is going
to be in Japan. She goes, well, look, the time,
Defen's pretty good. I'll probably able to FaceTime you for
(34:16):
a quick chat. Oh well, I don't say he's paying
for the old chapantry. If you go, just squeeze out
a quick meet and Greek with the old man FaceTime.
If the satellite is going to lighten us, that will
just be wonderful. And also the lois who is in battle.
(34:38):
The bands didn't didn't come to me directly with that one. Oh,
she rang mom to go, How do I can you
tell him? Can you tell she's doing Cats in the Cradle?
See no. Earlier on the show, I was telling you
about the the hour wait. I hadn't kmart. My wife
got in the car and just like I'm just going
to give you the new straightaway, neitherm would be around
for Father's Day. I've just been waiting this car part
(34:59):
for an hour and.
Speaker 15 (34:59):
The alsam all alone. There's no one here.
Speaker 5 (35:04):
Be sad.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
Me girls enjoyed Japan and you go win by the
bounds of.
Speaker 3 (35:10):
Papa Christian O'Connell show go on podcast.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
Good morning to Paul Knich. You are Christian, Yes, thank you, Paul, Christian.
There is a silver lining. You have raised strong, independent women.
You've done a great job, and the reward for that is.
Speaker 15 (35:32):
Car Sam all alone? Did no one here be sad?
Speaker 13 (35:38):
Me?
Speaker 1 (35:38):
Oh wait, there is FaceTime is coming through. Maybe I
could book a table and just take two iPad screams.
My virtual daughters join me lying from battle the Bans
and Tokio just like you here, guys, all right, coming
(36:01):
up after eight this morning? The wrong? Your story is
anything to do with the theme the wrong. We've had
some great stories. The last couple of weeks.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
I went to England for a holiday and I found
these boots and they cost a bomb and I thought,
stuff it, I'm going to buy them. Brought them home.
They were two different sizes.
Speaker 14 (36:19):
On the LANCEAVO and I surveyed the wrong block. We
knocked on the door and the guy came out and
we took where the surveys here to surveys the block
and subdivided it. The look on the guy's face was
my brother, He's done that to me. And he just
jumped in the car and roughed off and we checked
our file. Wrong address, So jumped in the car and
just bolted as quick as we could.
Speaker 11 (36:37):
We were flying from Australia to Budapest in Hungary and
we accidentally got off in Bucharest in room Maine.
Speaker 1 (36:46):
All right, lines are but now your stories about the wrong.
Speaker 3 (36:50):
The Christian O'Connell show podcast.
Speaker 1 (36:54):
The Wrong Your stories about the wrong, Good Morning, Annabelle.
The wrong car. I thought it was my husband sitting
in the retailer's car park in our white suv. Hopped
in the passing the seat, saw lots of stuff on
the seat, went to turn him to move it. But
then I said the driver was on my husband. The
driver went hello. My husband was waving at me in
(37:17):
the next white suv. Craze got the wrong the Oh
my god, the wrong sugar. D damn damn mouse is working.
My auntie came over and made us porridge for breakfast.
Instead of putting brown sugar on top, she put coscus
on it. Yeah, oh my god, Criscus is foul anyway,
(37:40):
on top of porridge. She's working up the mouse. She
didn't believe us whom we complained, and she forced us
to eat os porridge foul. Rio. You've got a story
about the wrong. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (38:00):
I just spoke to my parents last night on the phone.
They just got back from a trip to the Mold
Deves and I'm saying, oh, you must go, you must go,
as the only reason we haven't been to the mall
dims is we haven't thought.
Speaker 1 (38:11):
About the opportunity or marketing awareness of dollars a night.
Speaker 5 (38:16):
And so Mom there in this beautiful villa and she
was saying that the front door and the bathroom door
look almost identical. And so Mom goes.
Speaker 1 (38:25):
To have a shower.
Speaker 5 (38:26):
She's got no tower, she's got clothes on. Instead of
walking through the bathroom door, she looks out the front door.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
Mum's show the dolls behind us.
Speaker 5 (38:39):
Dad's having a nap, and so Mom runs into like
this little like alcove where there's like a maintenance shed
something like that.
Speaker 1 (38:45):
Watched a scene out Benny Hill.
Speaker 6 (38:52):
That's death as.
Speaker 1 (38:53):
A bloody post because he's almost eighty. You can barely
hear you when you're next to it. What happened? No, no, no, no,
the poor thing just horrific. Patsy, you got a stir
(39:13):
about the wrong We're in the Bunnings.
Speaker 8 (39:15):
The Love God and I one day and we were
just walking just having a browse, and I went to
reach out for his hand because quite often when we walk,
you know when we're in public.
Speaker 1 (39:23):
Oh, we'll hold hands. Oh you're seen out with like
a care, won't you, Cara. I mean he's yours.
Speaker 6 (39:29):
Anyway.
Speaker 8 (39:29):
I went to reach for his hand and held it,
and then I looked around. Only it wasn't Chris's hand.
It was another bloke and he.
Speaker 1 (39:38):
Hadn't said anything. Well, he hit the jackpot. Why would
he exactly? He's only natural, isn't he.
Speaker 6 (39:43):
Anyway?
Speaker 8 (39:44):
He was just horrified and bemused at the same time.
Speaker 1 (39:47):
And I said, oh my goodness, I'm sorry, Bunnings thing
so you can pick up lamps and the wife and
the wife. You really can't get everything under one room.
Speaker 15 (39:58):
Not my husband.
Speaker 3 (40:00):
The Christian O'Connell show podcast this Sunday.
Speaker 1 (40:04):
It is the Sydney Mouth and runners. Two hundred thousand
people lining the root, cheering them all on as well.
One of them will be our very own in turn, Pete,
and we wish him all the worst. There must be
nerves kicking in now, Pete.
Speaker 4 (40:19):
Oh they have kicked in so massively.
Speaker 7 (40:22):
And I thought I was going to be better than
I was last year when I first did my first
ever marathon. This year, I'm feeling it's already the butterflies
have already kicked in this morning. This so much I'm
putting myself under a bit of pressure.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
But I'm also so have you got You've got a
time goal?
Speaker 7 (40:37):
Yeah, I want three hours and thirty minutes, which so quick.
I don't think it's three.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
Hours thirty But you're a superfit guy. You do a
lot of running.
Speaker 4 (40:46):
Look at when I say run, ey jog like I do.
Speaker 1 (40:49):
Not three minutes, three and a half hours. No, Pete
can forest company all the way through.
Speaker 7 (40:59):
This is to go inside my mental head for a moment. Honestly,
I watch reels on Instagram. I watched moments in time
of like you know you're Kathy Freeman's and you know
Sally pa isn't on the hurdles, And I think, yes, Peter,
you could, But then I go, you're not.
Speaker 4 (41:12):
You're not least, But like, I just start to envision that.
Speaker 1 (41:15):
But you've got to You've got to aim for something, mate.
Speaker 7 (41:18):
I know I just want to win it one year,
but anyway that's not gonna happen. But what's gonna happen?
Speaker 1 (41:21):
Wait, you want to win it one year?
Speaker 7 (41:22):
Well, I know I'm forty ish and you know it
could be one of those things that maybe it could
be maybe.
Speaker 1 (41:30):
I just know we need to be honest with him.
You know it ain't gonna happen, mate.
Speaker 4 (41:34):
Oh okay, you're.
Speaker 1 (41:36):
Born in the wrong country. I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (41:39):
The things that are starting to I'm.
Speaker 1 (41:41):
Not saying, just look at who's won it. What's missing?
What's missing?
Speaker 3 (41:44):
Ye?
Speaker 1 (41:45):
Well you tell me Pete.
Speaker 7 (41:48):
Yeah, thank you, thank you, thank you for yourself for
this is what's happening with my headspace and things at
the moment. I have been told over the last sort
of a few days and until Sunday, drink lots of water.
I'm up to two and a half liters this morning alone.
I haven't stopped going to the tour every ten minutes
because I really want to make sure I'm hydrated.
Speaker 1 (42:05):
I've got to go and buy my I think that
means sort of during the race, not Shuesday before the race.
You've got a days beforehand because you're obviously passing out. Now.
Speaker 7 (42:14):
I'm going to a gel tasting session this afternoon where
I'm tasting the different gels that I'm going to be
using on the day as well. I'll be getting pickle
juice as well. That you've got your nipple tape. Yeah,
got the nipple tape. I've got the chafing cream as well.
And that's a normal Sunday. Let's leave that out.
Speaker 1 (42:29):
If you do need to go to the loop, just
need to do a quick week, don't you.
Speaker 4 (42:33):
The way now there's port along the way, not.
Speaker 1 (42:35):
For the first five k. No, there so many emailed
me to warm pete at first five k there's no toilets.
Speaker 7 (42:42):
Friendly reminded the gels that to be used along the way,
not eat eaten all at once like.
Speaker 4 (42:46):
I did last year.
Speaker 7 (42:47):
I ate them all before the actual race because we're
waiting there for a couple of hours.
Speaker 1 (42:51):
I'm not being funny. That is so up. I got
caught up in the moment.
Speaker 7 (42:54):
But for people of New South Wales, and I think
a lot of people know about this, the berry in
Berry in New South Wales, there's a donut van.
Speaker 6 (43:02):
Oh yeah, donut and.
Speaker 7 (43:04):
They're coming to the Sydney Marathon that we're all going
to eat donuts.
Speaker 1 (43:07):
They're going to clean up, won't they.
Speaker 4 (43:08):
Yeah, it's going to be absolutely massive.
Speaker 7 (43:11):
So I'm also today I'm going to get the print
out of my mum's photo.
Speaker 4 (43:14):
Who is no longer with us and she the microphone.
Speaker 1 (43:17):
There's that.
Speaker 7 (43:19):
Yeah, Mum's photo, which will be with me in a
couple of spots.
Speaker 1 (43:22):
What a load well and what a lovely thing to do.
Did you do that last year? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (43:26):
I did that for mama.
Speaker 1 (43:27):
So Mum's with you, keeping you going pretty much.
Speaker 7 (43:29):
Any run I go on, Mum is there with me,
which is just a nice thing that I just like
to think of her, that she we did a few
runs together and all that sort of stuff over the years.
Speaker 1 (43:37):
So something like, well you did set you to serf
with it, didn't you walk it to together?
Speaker 7 (43:41):
I had a back operation and part of my recovery
was I wanted to do the City to Serf and
Mum said, I've never walked past five k's. Let's let's
do it together. So we did the City of theF together.
Speaker 4 (43:52):
I wasn't mad. It took us about six hours.
Speaker 1 (43:54):
To be honest with it, doesn't matter. What a great
memory to have with your mom.
Speaker 4 (43:57):
Yeah that was that was really good.
Speaker 1 (43:58):
Actually. Yeah. The reason why Pete is doing radio, his
love of radio comes from his mum. It's got a
nice lovely story about his mum being obsessed with the
radio and what it means to a lot of people.
But it's such a lovely story.
Speaker 4 (44:08):
Pete, thank you. We had we had a radio in every.
Speaker 7 (44:11):
Room of the health because Mum was obsessed with radio
growing up.
Speaker 4 (44:13):
So that's but it used to be.
Speaker 1 (44:15):
That's the way it used to be before like you
know streaming on our phones and you know on our
TV screens, the radio used to be in most rooms
of the house. It was like it was everywhere. You've
got the news. I think you've got the news, really,
you know, before often before TV because TVs would only
be on in the morning once and then at night time.
There wasn't howl in news bulletins. There was no rolling
(44:38):
news TV channels. That's still quite a recent thing. And
so with the radio you get more updated news from
the radio. So radio was a way of keeping communities
up to date. Radio used to be a really big thing.
Of course, it's steady, steadish, steadies, stead so it must
update that Ted Talk radio is dying, dying, it's dying,
(45:02):
dying to come alive now, Pete. What I wanted to
keep you going over the forty two case is I
want to give away each k so that as you're
doing the K. You're going to name each K you're
about to because you are going to hit moments where
you are going to be struggling physically and mentally. And
I want if we break it down forget about the
(45:23):
mouth and part of it. You know about the distance
you've got your time goal through in half hours. It
is a series of moments by moments by moments moments,
and some of them are going to get really hard.
If you remind yourself what you're doing the next K
for and we break it down for you, I'm hoping
that we can get you better support than last year.
Oh this is so good.
Speaker 4 (45:39):
I love this so much.
Speaker 7 (45:40):
So we need like names of so each K will
be dedicate one to Christian, one to Patsy, one to Rio,
one to Caitlin.
Speaker 4 (45:45):
But there'll be the listeners that can call in a register.
Speaker 1 (45:47):
That's exactly that, that's exactly. I'm glad you understand. It
ain't complicated or something you know. So it's a name
and a kant to make. Got production ready give it?
Speaker 3 (46:00):
Give Christian Condor Show podcast Pete.
Speaker 1 (46:05):
One thing I saw when you're doing the Sydney Mouth
on this weekend. The bright side it is are going
to be with you every single step. My friends.
Speaker 7 (46:12):
Starting to feel really good about this now, Thank you
so much. Everyone listening in that's calling in. I can
see the screen.
Speaker 1 (46:17):
Generally, I'm in all of it. I think it's incredible
thing to do it once a mountain and how are
you doing it again? You've got your target? Yes, Now,
Reo had a lovely idea. So if he's tuned in
inter Pete is doing the Sydney Mouth on this weekend,
and we wish them all the most and I really
want to make sure that we support them along the way.
And I thought a nice way to do that is
to give away each of the forty two ks so
we can personalize it. But you hadn't. You're just saying
(46:38):
about how he's going to be running with a photo
of his beloved mum. You're in a nice field where
mum's names should be in this. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (46:44):
I think maybe we give away forty one case to
listeners and the final K can be for your mum.
Speaker 1 (46:48):
Pete.
Speaker 7 (46:50):
That's a great idea. That's perfect. Thanks rret No, that's
perfect because that the last K is pretty much the
one that I go where he now, there's nothing to lose,
go for it. I do think about her a lot
on the last part parts of any run.
Speaker 1 (47:02):
Oh lovely Christian. I love to sponsor a KVE for Pete.
Good luck to him. Rhiannon's my name, so we can
sing my dedication, Rhanna, my fluting back this. He ain't
doing karaoke on the way around. They're actually knowing Pete.
He has too many of those gels. Yeah, I think
we can turn it to that Rhianna and in Liverpool
and then we've got so Shannon her too. Twins are
(47:23):
twenty three today, beautiful names, Lyric and Angelina. They're going
to be the twenty third k Let's go out of
Sonia Morning, Sonya.
Speaker 14 (47:33):
Good morning guys.
Speaker 15 (47:34):
How are you?
Speaker 12 (47:35):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (47:35):
Really good? Sonia fantacy sponsoring inter and Pete this weekend.
Speaker 2 (47:38):
Oh yes, he's got to go on your Sonia on
your Sonia.
Speaker 14 (47:41):
Don't you remember that one?
Speaker 1 (47:43):
He will remember that one? And now do you have
a lucky number? Which cay do you want to sponsor?
Speaker 4 (47:49):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (47:49):
