Jet-lagged and running on fumes, Christian and Rio compare sleep-deprived returns from overseas, while a rogue bin in the studio sparks the latest chapter of the Rebel Bin Army.

Plus, the team takes a nostalgic trip through the ultimate 90s menu, Patsy reveals Bryan Adams is her all-time hall pass, and listeners deliver some all-time great examples of Nominative Determinism.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
From The Christian O'Connell Show podcast.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Goome Onring Rio, Good morning, Come on in.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
Pats morning boys.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Oh the producers really have I'm the luckiest presenter in
the world.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
Spoil you.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Oh my, they really do. I mean, I'd rather have
them come up with some great ideas. But look, maybe
one day today They've got a brand new bin in
the studio to help you and I. When we talk
about the bin stickers, we don't need to imagine it anymore.
We can see a flipping bin stinking up the studio.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
It's so lucky to have an old, smelly red bean.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
In the studio as a kind of sidekick for the
next three hours. And you know what it is, it's
inspirational to see a monkey, old bin in the radio studio.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
We finally made it.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Not just that. Caitlin will no doubt say listen, you know,
radio these days has all got to be visualized. Okay,
think of it like a TV show. Now all the
podcasts have got shiny cameras. You can't see it in
the studio. You can see is a bin lit, a
red bin lit.

Speaker 5 (01:58):
People are going to watch this as they're scrolling, going
what's the bin the show and really into recycling their
crappy ideas on that show. There must be no gap
between them and a beIN.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
It's created a weird vibe.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
It has a really weird but but that's the producers chuckle.
Sister's doing great work. At six o'clock. Now, you and
I during the ad break are going to have I've
until we've got to go around the office to find
some kind of plint to put it on, as if
it's now gonna be elevated over us, as if we're
worshiping the ben like a Roman. God.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
Now it's weird.

Speaker 6 (02:35):
Now it's going to be weirder, elevated, like like you
said on a shrine.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Tell me this I believe now, particy Kaitlin. You guys
have got a camera on you, haven't your chuckle? Sisters,
have you got a camera on you?

Speaker 7 (02:46):
Yes, we have a camera on us.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Great A.

Speaker 6 (02:58):
Christian is now taking the bin out of the studio.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
Is my mic still?

Speaker 4 (03:04):
Yes? Your mife is still on?

Speaker 3 (03:06):
Is not going to be that? We can't. We have
to move.

Speaker 6 (03:09):
The ben is now in the producer airlock and out
of our studio.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
Mercifully, we need to be able to.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Move The Christian O'Connell show podcast.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Have you Tuesday morning? On the show, we ask you
how was your day yesterday? How was your Monday? How
did you start the week? Are your Monday winner or loser? Rio?
Which way is it for you?

Speaker 6 (03:35):
I'm definitely still in loser mode. I'm still heavily, heavily
jet lagged from our trip to Grease over the break,
I thought I beat it. On Saturday night, I slept
for thirteen hours, which I've never done before.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
I not remember sleeping for thirteen hours since I was
ten years and age. Neither.

Speaker 6 (03:51):
I thought I've finally done it. I'm the first person
to ever beat jet lag.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
Keep it off, sleep it off.

Speaker 6 (03:56):
But it's you like when you wake up and you
thought you've been the hangover.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
Yeah, it turns out you're just still drunk.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
It was tading around the corner.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
Yes, it was exactly that.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
You haven't quite met the hangover. It appears like one
in the afternoon.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
Yesing up behind you. That was Sunday night for me.

Speaker 6 (04:11):
Before I first showed back, I was still so awake
at one am, I was just like, eyes wide open,
not even close to be able to sleep. And then
I start to get tired at about three o'clock, so
an hour before we had to wake up for the show.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Yeah, I woke up this morning, and I mean wide
awake at tooth. I've been up since half two. You're kidding, no,
And she sis put my shoes on to leave the
house at five. I started, not now you had a chance.
We ain't get anywhere near that bed for a while. Yeah,
there's a radio show to do. You gotta watch what
you say. I'm this close to getting canceled at any

(04:43):
break today. I actually think I'm more dangerous than if
I was drunk during the show. Jet Lag is a
real thing.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
It's crazy.

Speaker 6 (04:50):
I had a bath yesterday and I fell asleep in
the bath and woke up to me slipping there.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
Like that already dangerous on the bath water.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
But then didn't you take sleeping tablets?

Speaker 4 (04:59):
I did?

Speaker 6 (05:00):
I've I got a prescription in the air, you said,
did I do this? They are They're a bit, They're
pretty heavy. They really knock you out. But then yeah,
it's good.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
I'm always jealous. So on the flight they don't go
back to the UK where it was for the last
two weeks in my mum and dad. I was jealous.
On the long the long so you have to do
it in two stretches. So I changed to Singapore and
then it's like it's thirteen and a half hours and
everyone was asleep and I can only put seem like
I can't do that because to me, it's like sleeping

(05:35):
in public?

Speaker 4 (05:36):
Are you?

Speaker 1 (05:37):
I was awake. I tried so hard to go to sleep.
I couldn't that. I don't know, it's just I can't relax.
And then the crew were like, is there anything, is
anything we can get you to your sleep? I tried
a cameramartie with three caramar Tea bags in it that
still wouldn't do.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
It's not strong enough, it's enough.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
I was jealous of them. I reckon, they're all on
sleeping tablets, aren't they.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
Yes, you need to get on the good stuff.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Yeah, it really to your doctor, have they? Yes?

Speaker 4 (06:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Yeah. It's the same guy that looks after Michael Jackson,
isn't it. It's Matthew Perry's guys.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
It Christian Connell Show podcast.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
I'm a Monday Loser. Yesterday I was home alone, and
so I took my daughter, Lois's nineteen. She's been off
a university for two weeks, so back home with us.
Been loving about and she went back to Uni for
a couple of days to see a young man who
may or may not be her boyfriend. But I suspect

(06:34):
I pay more attention than those daughters of mine think
I'm always watching anyway, So I had to take her
to what It gets food for a couple of days
to go back with, and I also was then getting
dinner for myself. We go to the scanner and I say,
I'm just gonna do my bits first, Okaine. Then there's yours.
All I had was a free range chicken breast and

(06:55):
a jar off mushroom chicken tonight sauce in a jar.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
That's rough. That's a that's a rough, that's like a students.
That should be for her.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
She leans in and she whists to me, Dad, you're
giving off major divorced dad vibes. And I looked at
it. It was just a chicken breast and a chicken sauce
in a jar. As I made it last night, I
felt like chicken tonight, chicken tonight.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
It's better than yes, exactly, a single breast.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
Yeah. Hey, A jar of gray? Beautiful, a jar of gray.
Anyway I make it. I'm not even going to go
and sit down, there's no problem. I stand at the bench.
I stand at the bench, slumped over a mixture of
jet lag and just sadness. You've become a jar of gray.

Speaker 4 (07:56):
Did you have any side dishes with nothing?

Speaker 6 (07:59):
That's actually that makes me deeply no greenery?

Speaker 4 (08:04):
What if?

Speaker 1 (08:05):
What if something happened to me right now and I
hit the deck, They come in and find me and
they go, oh my god. His last meal was It
was chicken tonight mushroom sauce in a jar and a
solitary tricken. No greenery, no greenery, no greenery. You should
know what this is? Fifty three?

Speaker 4 (08:24):
What sort of life was this man?

Speaker 1 (08:25):
No life? And they took him away if you're going
to live like that? The experiment didn't work.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
They put his ashes in a jar of chickens and
as Yes, but.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
Chicken tonight, to me is is nineties cooking very much. Yeah,
you know, even I was, Oh my god, this was
so big in the nineties. There was a TV adver,
the dance, the jingle was everywhere. I'd even know they
still did chicken tonight. Yeah, who knew? Who knew what
that target audience must be.

Speaker 4 (08:55):
They mustn't believe they're like that.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
Oh my godd, we've had a sale on a Monday.
This guy is winning goals. So anyway, I thought this morning,
let's make a nineties menu. So one of the main
courses has to be chicken tonight. What else is on there?
If you think about eating in the nineties, Vanetta is

(09:17):
one of the dessert options. Obviously, you know the show
loves a Vianetta. What else should be on there on
the nineties menu of our food? Well, I don't know
what actually think of menu would be shoes.

Speaker 6 (09:29):
I've got one, Yeah, canton. Do you remember that past
making canton? It doesn't take long for.

Speaker 4 (09:36):
The way to get around.

Speaker 6 (09:38):
That was the peak of Asian cuisine back in the nineties.
That was about as authentic as a god and it
was essentially chicken tonight, but in oriental floor.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
Sugary, syrupy sauce. What about apricot chicken.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
I was about to say, Apricot chicken we still make Yeah, No, no,
that's back around.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
Do you know what as I was looking at the
ready meals section right in the supermarket yesterday and all
the different ones. Now there's like there's the people who
are dieting or you know, yeah, I can't wait, something
called my muscle Meals or.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
Something of that.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Then there's a whole new brand now simply god, this
is sel Australian air fryar.

Speaker 4 (10:17):
It's in block.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
Capitals for an exclamation. I got it. You just chuck
this into the air fry. I almost got one of those,
but I can't give in that easily. Imagine there was
like another thing just oven one hundred and eighty degrees friar.
There's no need for cooking instructions. It just yells it

(10:39):
at you air fryer.

Speaker 6 (10:40):
All those pre made meals now are just like it's
all about protein everything.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
Yeah, fire, all right, what is on the nineties? You know?
I think most nineties main dishes were chicken based, Yes,
apart from a beef stroganof a beef yeah.

Speaker 6 (11:02):
Will My partner made a brief strong enough recently. Hadn't
had it yet, probably since the nineties. Its dense old meals,
isn't it.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
But I'll tell you what the dentest meat meal was
in the nineties, meat loaf.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
I've never had a lucky thing.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
I'm jealous. I wish my body could forget all the
meat loaf dinners had in the nineties that mum used
to make.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
Is it meat break?

Speaker 1 (11:22):
Tell you what, go and eat a shoot and therefore
you've just eaten the meat loaf.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
Christian O'Connell show, Go on podcast.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
If you're a regular listener to the first hour of
the show, first day letters, say sorry. Secondly, can you
put a note in your calendar a regular Tuesday long
running one infinites to remind me? Second song on a
Tuesday morning, Ilo, don't bring me down. I'd be so grateful. Yes,

(11:54):
there are producers, but they put one in for half five.
Why re questions right now? Har five? I mean you're
getting ready for the next day show at five point
thirty in the evening, and I'm hoping up a fresh
jar of chicken tonight. The show is over all right.
Sad sad news yesterday about not just a titan of acting,

(12:18):
Sam Neil, but also just a thoroughly decent, optimistic, kind,
lovely impish man. Sam Neil. The last couple of years
you just see brought so much delight to people around
the world just with his videos of his ducks, the
Two Paricks Winery, just a really you know, so many
actors take themselves so seriously, Sam. You gave the impression

(12:40):
that he didn't do.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
That, Yes, and he seems like he could.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Yeah. I was lucky enough to interview in quite a
few years ago, and he was just as charming as
you'd imagine he would be. I had such a lovely time,
just a genuinely warm, playful Matt. I'm just really happy
to answer any questions I said. How I remember, you know,
sometimes in life you can flate timelines. You know, sometimes
you're telling a story and someone said no, no, no, it
was three years later. In my mind, the great movie

(13:05):
The Dish, I thought came out a couple of months
after nine to eleven, and it was about seven or
eight months after it. But the reason why in my
mind I put the two of them quite close to
together was I remember going to see The Dish and
it felt like it was just after nine to eleven.
It reminded me there are so many good people in
the world doing great things, and so I remember telling
him that. He was like, it's amazing. It's still that

(13:26):
movie of all ages around the world. People still just
hold it so finally, such a great movie. And then
Jurassic Park, what a great movie. The great doctor Alan
Grant and I think that's lovely. I watched it over
CHRISTI with my kids. I've never seen it. It still
holds up. Yes, such a brilliant it's a funny movie
as well. And Sam's character Don jullingraundgrins, he hates kids,

(13:51):
generally snaps the little kid. He can't believe that the
kid isn't friend of a dinosaur, which is disrespectful to
the dinosaurs. And then its arc over the movie is
by the end of it's almost like a surrogate dad.
So these kids, that's what makes the movie have a
really beautiful ending as well. So today, in honor of
the great man, a really great man, Sam Neil, we're
going to do a special time waste this morning for
Jurassic Part this great soundtrack as well. Dinosaur movies. Let's go,

(14:16):
all right, try Sarah top gun gold for only the
finest dinosaurs. Claus Gold, Rexit ralph Ex Dino brother. Where
art thou Dino brother? Art thou? Try Sarah top Gun?

a little victory that for that one again? All right,
dinosaur movies, what have you got rio.

versus predator like a paleontologist character. Meet your the fuckers
that meet your white there's dinosaurs out.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
I almost hunt Fockosaurus. I slowed down before saying that.

jet lag the chicken tonight. Maybe don't try that early
on the first outer the show.

Speaker 8 (15:11):

Speaker 9 (19:31):
But I was too shy. I thought, no, that's really distasteful.
I don't want to look to.

Speaker 1 (19:37):
If he threw if you threw yours at him, maybe
there's a case for a little bit of distaste ask
him to sign something as a genuine fan.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
No, I didn't feel right.

Speaker 9 (19:46):
It kind of cheapened the whole moment for me, Like
it was you don't understand it was a list item.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
It was just ah.

Speaker 6 (19:52):
And don't you say, Patsy that he he winked at
you or he looked.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
At you, probably a style or something he did.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
Yes, he pointed me out in a lot.

Speaker 1 (20:02):
Of energy, a lot of energies. It's the energy capital
of Australia.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
I had witnesses. Yes, he did point me out.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
Yes, Now I think it was more to security. How

from Timu and it is not official BA stuff.

Speaker 4 (20:26):
Happy to go.

Speaker 9 (20:26):
Again for the show if you want me to please,
all right, no, let's do it, and this time start
with the signing.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
In fact, these days you get like fifteen minutes allocated.
Just used the whole fifteen minutes getting stuff signed. Any questions, No,
oh yeah, just can you sign this calendar as well?

Speaker 3 (20:44):
And maybe my skin and I'll get a tattoo. People
do that.

Speaker 1 (20:48):
Yeah, and let's think about those kind of people.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
I wouldn't mind doing it.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
What an actual you'd have a permanent tattoo of his signature.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
Get him to sign somewhere on my body.

Speaker 4 (20:57):
I'm somewhere on my buddies.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
And when you hear me go this my family note,
that's our version when dad's a scene. See the radio
version is all right, okay, yesterday, you're gonna get jealous.
You're gonna go, my god, have you been have you
trained at the Cordon Bleu Academy? I had chicken tonight dinner.
For one I felt like chicken tonight. I was just

(21:27):
wandering around looking for an easy source to pour over
a lone chicken breast last night for my dinner and
I saw chicken tonight. I couldn't believe it's still I'm
still going all right? My daughter was like what is that? Oh,
and listen, young lady. Back in the day, back in
the nineties, this was it was like everyone used this.
You've had friends coming around. You were just porch.

Speaker 4 (21:50):
He would find of luxury.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
It was like luxury in a jar.

Speaker 4 (21:54):
I'm looking at this chicken tonight, mushroom jar.

Speaker 1 (21:57):
Beautiful. What a chef's kiss, so many chef chef's kiss.
Fascinating color, it's a great color. It's a very very
original shoe of mushroom.

Speaker 4 (22:08):
Hmm. It doesn't look like it's jam packed with mushrooms.

Speaker 1 (22:12):
No, no, no, no, they must have taken a bad
camera angle that had the right ratio to delicious, runny,
so runny sauce and mushroom. They'd really have hind over
the over the decades, they've really honed that mix. Anyway,
as we were serving up, I was thinking, this is
a nineties this is a nineties meal. So this morning,
with your donations and your ideas, we're going to try

(22:33):
and recreate what would be the nineties menu. Someone wants
you rob Christian El chicken Kieva. The best thing was
about that first slice when the garlic butter would come
oot fried chicken sausages, mashed potatoes, gravy, spaghetti, bolig knaise,

(22:53):
mac and cheese. Yeah, frank, chow maine and curried sausages.
Chowmaine is massive, bring it back. Sounds like the only Chinese. Yes,
that's how it started with chow. I don't think I've
even said that in decades. Chow Maine and curried sausages
as well as ham steaks pineapple optional, Yes, I know

(23:17):
what you mean. Pineapple is a big staple. Good morning, Christian.
What about the prawn cocktail?

Speaker 3 (23:21):
Oh god, you've got to go the p What was
the cocktail? Oh delicious prawns. We have them every Christmas.

Speaker 9 (23:27):
And you just slice up some lettuce, just a butter
lettuce and put the cocktail sauce over the top.

Speaker 3 (23:32):
Very simple.

Speaker 1 (23:34):
So you still get that now, Yeah, he's back in. Christian.
My nan would always cook cheesy, cheesy broccoli, cusserole, comfort food.
Not great for the archeries, but taste is great. Christian.
Why don't you a nineties degustation diner for us?

Speaker 4 (23:49):
All that's a great idea.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
Oh, that actually is a great thing. And fight listeners
and have a nineties degustation dinner, a pairing it with
wines and beers love Christian. What about chilicken kN from
the yellow packets? Oh yeah, yeah, I know what you mean.

Speaker 2 (24:07):
Christian Colors podcast.

Speaker 1 (24:10):
And then you know your ideas. What would be on
a nineties menu yesterday? I didn't know you could still
buy it. It's still going strong decades later. Chicken tonight,
chefscus Okay, what else will be on the nineties menu?
I think that is a great idea, by the way
of us sitting down with our listeners and actually breaking

(24:31):
bread garlic bread of course over a nineties deco station menu.

Speaker 4 (24:34):
Yes, Col's garlic breast.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
Its great Christian on the nineties menu. Mississippi mud cake.

Speaker 3 (24:44):
Yes, yes, deep rich mud.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
Cake cornby from white wine sauce.

Speaker 4 (24:52):
I remember, do you remember? Silver side?

Speaker 6 (24:55):
Silver Side with a bit of hot English mustard and
some white bread.

Speaker 9 (24:59):
Should still do it in the slow cooker. It's magnificent.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
With talking of the chicken tonight, you get the honey mustard.
Just get a jar there.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
Yeah, that's the other great sauces. It's not just a
jil of gray.

Speaker 3 (25:12):
Yeah, fluorescent yellow.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
It's fantastic Christian. My mum used to go back in
the nineties. Ox tongue.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
Oh yeah, wow, that father in law did awful. Yeah,
you know Threshian era, they do everything ox tail taile.

Speaker 1 (25:28):
Yeah. Christian, what about apricot chicken? I think that's probably
the definitive nineties male Christian Porcupine meatballs always popular when
I was a kid. Christian was macaroni cheese, followed by
apple strudel, custard, custard. It's a dessert staple. It's the

(25:48):
dessert gravy of the nineties.

Speaker 6 (25:50):
Custard desert gravy it is, isn't it.

Speaker 1 (25:54):
Everything was just gravy, dollocked on it, whatever it was.
You don't get a lot of custard these.

Speaker 4 (25:59):
Days, do it.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
You don't want to be selling custard to restaurants or
going door to doornails to custard man, Christian? What about
steak Diane Shane and Sydney steak Diane? Yes, my Christian.
My mom used to make croc pot chicken with tin potatoes,
tin carrots. Everything was jars and tins, maybe a little
bit of fresh celery. Delicious. Was it be strong enough?

(26:22):
Tunea mornay? That's right? Yeah? And also meat loaf, the
foul dryal thing that was buttus kailin what's it? What
else needs to be on the nineties menu?

Speaker 10 (26:34):
Every week we would have it twice a week. It
would be rissoles, but my mum made it really fancy.
She would take veggiemite scoops and put them in the middle.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
Of the rissoles.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
He said, fancy, yeah, which would.

Speaker 10 (26:46):
Create this like saltiness through the rissole.

Speaker 3 (26:49):
And it was just absolutely divine.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
Explains everything about producer caating.

Speaker 4 (26:54):
Sounds revolt with orderue respect to your mother.

Speaker 1 (26:59):
You don't you don't get on Master Chef, this Sweet Chef,
It's rissoles week.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
Christian O'Connell shower on podcast.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
I've been trying to create the ultimate nineties menu today.
After last night, I had actually for dinner chicken tonight.
Remember the sauces in the jar, they're still an available
made on with a lone chicken breast. I was obviously
eating alone last night. That's my ninety year old daughter
said when she told me, just those, just those two

(27:33):
items to scan at the checkout, A lone chicken breast
and a jar of chicken. Tonight's when you really are
giving off major divorced dad vibes. People are looking around.
Oh bless him, and I guess he's that's his visiting
day's Monday. Dirty sod. They can't help themselves, these people

(27:55):
in broadcasting. Can you know Christian one of the menu,
What about Keish Lorraine? Yes, Continental hot Pots, Yes, Mum
used to do this sweet and sour. Yeah yeah, chow
maine and sweet and sour to be two flavors as well.
Christian hamsteak and pineapple and that used to be on

(28:18):
every pub menu in the nineties, and in brackets it
would always say pineapple optional, as if you were fancy
and I will I will take that option actually and
have that slice of pineapple Christian. What about Volivon's, Oh,
oh my god, em We used to think that was like,
you know, when we were talking about we were giving
a Vonetta's a couple of months ago, as in that

(28:38):
was like a treat, high end. I usually think that
was really like what posh people? This is how I
imagine when the queen has visiting dignitaries, okay from Cape Verde.
You know, she was offering them hot Canna pays and
a vollevont yesh bomb Alaska. Someone has also suggested I've
just realized that we're actually recreate my wedding menu. This

(29:01):
is what we had. It was Apricott Chicken. I did
get married in ninety eight. We had Apricot Chicken as
the main and bomb Alaska was the just as well.

Speaker 4 (29:09):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
Another big thing in the nineties was meringue.

Speaker 4 (29:12):
Yes, loved merangue back then.

Speaker 1 (29:14):
Yes. Yes.

Speaker 2 (29:16):
The Christian o'connal show podcast.

Speaker 1 (29:19):
Thank you very much. Everyone's still sending in your suggestions
for the ultimate nineties food menu. Dinner serve Christian with
a fresh drug of tang top up, sir, Oh.

Speaker 3 (29:31):
I can still taste it.

Speaker 1 (29:32):
Yeah, don't forget the after dinner meats to go with
the volivons as well. No nineties dinner would be complete
without a double espresso or ever way too caffeinated beverage
right before bed. You're right, what was that about the
after double shot Christian Nineties dinner party dessert would be

(29:53):
chocolate fondue so with fruit and marsh mellows. Also, my
nan used to make homegrown stewed peaches. Oh yes, stew pitches. Yeah,
I just remember stew peaches and also rice custard. Oh no, no, no, Alina,
all that kind of mud. No, all right, so yesterday

(30:18):
someone DMed me, as the kids say on Instagram, slipped
in there, Oh yeah, right into my DMS, and I
don't mind that. I'm here for that. They had a
brand new person and a name and an occupation for
nominative determinism. This is something that occasion comes up on
the show, and it's a genuine theory that's improved by science,
that people's names influence their choice of jobs. We've had

(30:41):
these before, have listened to this.

Speaker 3 (30:43):
My uncle was one William Toombs and he was an undertaker.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
My son surname is path thea double R. He's a mechanic.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
We had a general surgeon by the name of John Hack,
local dentist by the name of Barry Cutmore, and a
lovely GP by the name of doctor d spelled de
a t h.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
You know.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
It was a blacksmith and his name was diet Mar
Fleck Emma.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
Dieter Fleckhammer the Blacksmith, one of my favorite ones. However,
I've got a brand new one. It's a doctor. You're
not going to believe what I'm about to say. Go
ahead on Google you will see this lovely doctor, lady
doctor doctor as me but a S M. A surname

(31:28):
b U double t doctor but is enough doctor as me?
But is incredible, that's amazing, it's incredible. Have you seen
her doctor as me? But yes, as me but a
beautiful name, a great name, but obviously the surname. But
she's gone into medicine. It's doctor.

Speaker 4 (31:49):
But yeah, that's.

Speaker 6 (31:50):
Where injecting to your butt?

Speaker 1 (31:53):
You what injections you have in your ass?

Speaker 4 (31:56):
Isn't that something? That's what they do?

Speaker 1 (31:58):
I don't know, injecting your bum? Why not somewhere else?

Speaker 4 (32:04):
Maybe that's steroids.

Speaker 1 (32:05):
No, you know you're a son of a You're the
son of a doctor.

Speaker 4 (32:09):
Are you roiding right now?

Speaker 1 (32:11):
You are a chat young man, Stay up the roids,
all right. So nominative determinism the theory that names influence jobs.
Doctor but dr asthmi. But it's incredible, it's too good
to be true. All right, you can google it.

Speaker 2 (32:26):
Christian O'Connell show podcast.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
Now, I don't want to hear about the gynecologists called that.
Give it to yourself. It's the PG Family show. Right
side of the dial, on the blue side of the dial,
standards managing p's and q's. Please, hell of a name?
What branding? All right? Here's your name, or maybe it's

(32:51):
someone you know link to their job. It's a phenomenon
called an atom nominative determinism. Christian. We see a pediatric
orthopedic doctor for our daughter, Dr Little Oh perfect. It's
a really warm, friendly name for child doctor, isn't it? Christian.

(33:13):
We've lived in two different suburbs. The first one we
had the local butcher, Gary ham right. We changed suburbs,
Gary Lamb. Do they know each other? The two Gary's
Hammy and Lammy? That is beautiful, Thank you very much, Christian.
I'm a teacher. We have a food tech teacher, Miss

(33:35):

Speaker 2 (34:29):
Good morning guys.

Speaker 1 (34:30):
I'm good Ian. So a name link to a job,
You've got a great one. What is it?

Speaker 2 (34:34):
Oh, it's very amusing. It's always amused me.

Speaker 9 (34:37):
A Catholic archbishop in Manila in the Philippines named cardinal
scene incredible.

Speaker 1 (34:45):
Something from a kid's TV show or movie. Yeah, that's
a growing Ian. Thank you very much for sharing a

all that kind of rubbish. It is very competitive and
our rivals are spending big. They're coming at me with cash.
This year Google, the company I work for, lean into
spending cash. They're into reducing breakfast shows. I don't want

(35:34):
to be knocking on south Vader's door asking for more money.
Not this year, not me. Employee of the Year twenty
twenty six runner up last year, far cheaper not to
request billboards, but to ask you did listener for your
bins and your bin boards. I actually think this is
premium marketing space. You think about all the bins every

(35:57):
single day that are wheeled out, you know, the side
curve side been facing out to the world. That's free
reality space, just waiting for listen to find their new
favorite breakfast show. So now needs you been. We're sending

was thinking about s b's significant bins, significant bins, and
I think of the Prime Minister. Yes, I think you're right,
actually significant bins. The other one is I guess also

(37:28):
if you think about significant bins, we're talking about breakfast radio.

and Jackie. You must still have their address, say old mate. Pete.
Pops round, says he loo to his former bosses and
does a quick cheeky, cheeky stick us up the men's

(37:51):
perps outside their houses. Yeah, yeah, yeah, this is yep,
this is good. I like this.

Speaker 4 (37:56):
I'm just thinking it through in my hand.

Speaker 1 (38:00):

We need you to not to crap the beds and.

Speaker 3 (38:10):
Yeah yeah yeah we could do it.

Speaker 1 (38:12):
Sure, No, I make a note of that, and hopefully
here forget.

Speaker 4 (38:16):
We're on. We're on. How quickly you turn on your
old bosses, Well absolutely they can have.

Speaker 1 (38:25):
It's like gay, It's like Game of Thrones, isn't it?
Game of microphones?

Speaker 4 (38:31):
The next ultis.

Speaker 1 (38:36):
All right, So here's what we need for these bin stickers, right,
they've gotta be eye catching. We need some slogans, ones
for the Melbourne bins and ones for the Sydney bins. Sydney,
you say, what about from sin City to ben City?

Speaker 2 (38:52):
