Who are Christian O'Connell show podcast?

Speaker 1 (01:42):
Come on in Pats Money, Come on in Rio.

Speaker 5 (01:44):
Good morning.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
What an incredible opening game at the World Cup for
the soccer Roos, a historic win. Opening games are hard
for any of the countries, not because there's so much pressure,
so much expectation.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Has the training gone right?

Speaker 2 (01:58):
You know your home country is watching you and also
wait for it, the world is watching you as well.
And then the run up to this, some of you
might not know but that Australia have been running to
the ground by a lot of the other countries out there.
They don't take to set in Australia. Seriously, they know
it's not your national sport. In America, they've been calling
you one the weakest teams in the tournament. Yes, they
changed the FIFA rankings and moved Australia down.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
When did they do that last week? I know? Which
is why it means that this.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Weekend's game against the Yanks is spicy. I'm going to
call it spicy Saturday, five am. And also America looked
very good against Paraguay. Yeah, however, we don't need to
go on about the Yanks.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
We're dealing with them. Saturday.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
A lot of people were saying that Australia wouldn't win
with a very young team, very inexperienced team. And what
was it nine or turn out of that starting eleven
we're making their debut in the World Cup, all that
young talent, but Tony big calls and they paid off well.

Speaker 5 (02:54):
When I saw that Maddy Ryan wasn't playing, I thought on.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Captain an experience in God. But Pat Beach was a
wall a star.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Wow, incredible performance.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
He's made more saves than the any other team in
the World Cup so far.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Really it made eight incredible saves.

Speaker 5 (03:10):
And they were they were amazing.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
That Turkey did not stop today. They were relentlessly pounding
pressure on the soccers. But incredible getting to watch. Did
you watch it, Pats, No?

Speaker 5 (03:20):
I did not. I saw the highlights package.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
What I appreciate the honesty. Everyone's going to wait, I
haven't seen it. It says that not everyone's doing a sport.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
You know what I was bored about though, It was
the scenes in the city at fed Square and Amy
Park and the fans, which is it was just the
spirit was alive. It was just beautiful to see everyone
cheering on the team and I thought that was great.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Yeah, and all around Australia lots of different things. Yeah,
in Sydney as well. So real Where were you were
you on the Bucks weekend?

Speaker 1 (03:51):
That can smell alcohol vapors coming.

Speaker 5 (03:53):
That does make sense, and it's not just the soccer spirit,
it's just spirits. It was the last spot of our
Bucks weekend. We went to the pub and the pub
was absolutely heaving. That set up a little watch zone
out the back in the beer garden. You couldn't move
once you were locked into your spot. There was no
way that you could possibly leave, even to go to
the toilet, to go to the bar.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
What was a Cheerleke with the first goal, Oh, it
was insane.

Speaker 5 (04:15):
I've got chills. And the second one was even louder.
And then when the final.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Past goal was one of the best goals I've seen
in the tournament so far.

Speaker 5 (04:22):
A very UnAustralian goal. Normally we don't score those amazing,
you know, brilliant shots.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Like Brazilian flare about it or aunt Entinian or French.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Yeah, I couldn't believe when I was in the insane goal,
the pub misays it's gone ballistic. It was.

Speaker 5 (04:35):
There was people. There was a poor guy next to
me who was eating a fishburger, a poor, poor decision.
So everyone's going crazy throwing the drinks at the year
and he's trying to celebrate while also balancing his fishburger
on his plate. He did a pretty good job.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
And what were you doing in the pub during the
hydration breaks? Is that in the pub? Is that a
different kind of hydration break and a choiet because you
get these those three minute breaks. Yes, so the Yanks
have turned into a game of four quarters now.

Speaker 5 (05:00):
Yeah, but they've taken a leaf out of Ossie rules.
But yeah, everyone just went to the pub for our
hydration break.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
I tell you one thing I will say is the
even though the world is moaning about these you know,
hydration breaks, which is just a way to a fifit
to make even more money. However, soccrews more than any
of the team need those breaks, because both their goals
yesterday were after the hydration breaks.

Speaker 5 (05:24):
Yes, we love a hydration Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Next, and those hot temperatures of wait for it, twenty
degrees in Vancouver. The poorhouses must be so dehydrated.

Speaker 4 (05:35):
The Christian O'Connell show podcast.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Yesterday, I was watching a game, but I've seen a
lot of soccer over the weekend. I even watched the
highlights of one of the worst World Cup games ever
seen Scotland.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
Come on Scotland for neutral. You know I'd showed up blood.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Yeah, that was one of the worst laborious games I've
ever seen against Haiti.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
That was tough going.

Speaker 5 (06:00):
Two powerhouses, two b our houses.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
All right, So Thursday Friday last week we gave it
away all forty eight countries, forty eight of you for
the world's biggest World Cup sweep.

Speaker 1 (06:12):

Fiona one nil. Jeff's son Jeremy Soccerus beat Dwayne Turkey.
Hop that Dwayne this is one of the biggest stars
for the Turkish team.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
For the game, I mean up against Australia.

Speaker 5 (07:06):
What do you know about them and how do you
beat them?

Speaker 4 (07:08):
Think that we dominate tomorrow the game because we have
more qualities and more talented teams.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
So we'll see tomorrow whatever afterwards. You sounds a bit different.

Speaker 6 (07:16):
You said yesterday that Turkey had a more talented team
and that you would dominate this match.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
What went wrong for you? We didn't dominate possession?

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Sure, I don't think they did in the same leg
you because everyone that we dominate today.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
I think we did a good game. Just what we
didn't look good is that we didn't score.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
I didn't score.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
I don't know that was one thing that that's forgot actually,
But I'll have a chat with them and we'll get
around it next game.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
And then right now Jason is playing intern Peach.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Jason is Germany taken on the Powerhouse. It's their first
time curus out, first time at the World Cup seven
and one for that. So Monday, right now the live
game is Stephen playing on the Netherlands taken on but
listener Bernie Japan.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
By the way, there is.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
This on the world's most eminent mathematicians is a German
guy called Jockheim. He has predicted accurately the last three
World Cup winners with his economic model.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
No, it's incredible.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
He's picked Germany in twenty fourteen, France and twenty eighteen
Argentine and twenty to twenty two. He said he's never
he's never going to be wrong with the system. He's
called the Netherlands to win the World Cup. And Stephen
is playing right now taking on Bernie and Japan.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
Nil niel I think at the moment.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
Christian O'Connell Show podcast.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
You can tell us about your weekend, whatever you get
up to over the weekend in three words. Now every
Monday we do this three word weekends text shuals to
four seven five, three, one oh four, three, Patsy Howel's,
all these big performances on the weekend.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
They did such a great job. So the theater school
she goes to, they did their mid year performance. Literally
hundreds of kids doing phenomenal stuff on stage and just
coming to life.

Speaker 5 (09:04):
It was brilliant.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
You see some future stars, oh most definitely.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
You know, some of those kids are professional, are turning professional.
The older kids, they call them the triple Threats, and
they're these squads that are just it's like glee club.
They are seriously, do you want to join my club?

Speaker 1 (09:19):
The half threat. It's it's not even a single threat,
it's a pop threat.

Speaker 5 (09:24):
Yeah, I'm the same.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
I'm not even a but they're just brilliant. But they
did this fantastic mishmash of Michael Jackson's songs and they
did the Thriller dance and they came out through the
audience and then crawled up onto the stage.

Speaker 5 (09:36):
It was just so good.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
But we had a bit of trouble with our seating plans,
so I got not quite like maybe six or seven
rows back, but right in the center. And I love
when you're in the moshpit kind of in the mosh pit.
But I love the reaction, the look on her face
because you can see she's kind of looking to see
where we go.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
I want to sit. They want to know that we're
watching them.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
It's the whole don't put me off, mom and dad,
don't put me off. But then when she sees this
in the in the crowd, it's like, oh, it's like because.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
They feel validated. They want you to see what they're doing.
And how did it already get on? I know you're
upset because she was in the ensembler.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
No, no, no, she was fine. No, no, you're talking to
school production. She's not in there. Oh see, okay, No,
everyone gets to go. But Chris, my husband is so tall.
There was a lady, elderly lady behind him, sort of
mid performance. He got the tap on the shoulder and
she said, oh, excuse me, but I'm wondering if you
would mind not swapping seats because you're far too tall.

(10:34):
I can't see my grandchild.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
She put her on his shoulders. He got the best
few of the house's.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
Having to be a spear sea posibon, and I said, oh, look, please,
you sit next to me and then you can see
your grandson so here.

Speaker 6 (10:47):
But it was great.

Speaker 5 (10:48):
I loved it. It was fantastic.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
This weekend, my weekend plans changed drastically. Okay, my wife
was away for the weekend and then one of our
daughters got ridio. There's so many bugs and stuff at
the moment, she's got really bad flu. So she had
to come back home for the weekend and I was
left basically being a nurse for the whole weekend. We
got through Actually know what it's it's rare they come
home and that actually needs your proper need any care now,

(11:13):
and so I have to be honest.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Part of me loved it.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
It's great looking after them, the limbs SIPs getting the
parast tomorrow and the nearer fen Combo is right timing all,
making notes for all, making breakfast lunch and has still
had a huge appetite even though it said a burning
temperature as well. We got through almost two brand new
TV shows. You watch so much time on the couch,
and then I said to my daughter, I said, hey,

(11:37):
do you know what, can we just take a break
from this new show watching the moment I'm gonna I've
got to watch the soccer game and one of my
start half a night beforehand for this sort, you know,
just to countdown. They'll be crossing too various parks and
bars around Australia and fans around the world. And Ruby
was like, Oh, I think this is where you really
wish you had a son.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
I'm not a soccers anyone can get in.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
She don't need to be. I got into the matildas.
Let's not divide it by gender. That's about getting rash
because I have no connection to it. So I watched
it by myself after cheer by yourself. Well the cat up,
my mega cat Larry, I started when that first goal
went and I screamed, there's no one.

Speaker 5 (12:16):
To He's the sun. You wish she had, Larry.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
It's just me and Big Lass.

Speaker 4 (12:20):
Christian O'Connell show go on podcast.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Every Monday, and we asked you to tell us the
story of your weekend. Three were as you can text
them in four seven, five, three one oh four three
Real Warshaws.

Speaker 5 (12:33):
Big Pub blow Up. Had our big three day Bucks
party over the weekend. Started at Friday afternoon, ended after
the Soccer News game on the Saturday. So I will
caveat this by saying we had built up a bit
of a head of steam. We'd started drinking at eleven.
We went to the golf course. Then we went to
a drinking whilst playing golf.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Yes, yep, it hates the sting out of it when
you hit bad shots, no cares.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
And it was a.

Speaker 5 (13:01):
Country golf course. So not only do they sell you beers,
they give you sk.

Speaker 7 (13:06):
Golf course.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
Yes, it's a whole game challenge a thing.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
Until one of my first parts weekend here in Australia
without with playing golf, and I was like, all right,
I saw you went with a drink where no, no, no,
it's more drinking encourage. There was even a bar. It
was just a public house. There was a bar at
the ninth pole. Oh wow, there's some young some young
kidski for the poop.

Speaker 5 (13:26):
Your type of bar. So played golf. They're until winery.
Then we went to the pub for dinner and this
is where the blow up happened. So we rock up.
We're in the pub dining room. There's us and there's
another big group, a group of mums I would say
between forty and fifty. Immediately we rock up, we sense
an energy from them. They're not stoked about our presence.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
There.

Speaker 5 (13:50):
There's a big.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
Two kind of different tribes.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
Exactly, just two different types of tribe. There's a huge,
big screen on the wall. We turn it on to
watch the footy. As soon as we turn the screen on,
the head of their table gets up. No, no, no, no, no,
we're not doing that. We're not doing that stuff. It's
yelling at us to turn the TV off in the
pub on the screen. I said, okay, well, like settle down.

(14:15):
What about we have a compromise. We'll put it on
mute and then you won't have to hear it.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
That's actually very.

Speaker 5 (14:21):
Fair, thank you. She's like, no, no, no, and then
she said now images. She said, no, no, I don't
want to see it. I don't want to look at it.
And she said, I'm the birthday girl.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
Had there.

Speaker 7 (14:37):
Coming up.

Speaker 1 (14:38):
It's a couple of clicks and a Karen from Karen
images off.

Speaker 5 (14:45):
Do forget it's my birthday to this month.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
Of course, click Karen, click click, and then she dupped
on us.

Speaker 5 (14:51):
To the pub owner, she goes, oh, the.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
Boys came in and no worries.

Speaker 5 (14:58):
Then she won the TV went off. We weren't allowed
to turn to see the problem about sound?

Speaker 1 (15:04):
Sure were you? Then murmuring about them all.

Speaker 5 (15:07):
Yeah, then we're very loudly. Then we played it loudly
on our phones.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
See you won morally, yes, Christian. My three word weekend ossy,

Springer spaniel went in for grooming, spent more on her
saloon treatment.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
I've ever spent it myself. First from Jennifer.

Speaker 2 (15:41):

they do with them as well? They just need to
short back in size for me? Sure, grime, Why can't

this weekend, right, all right?

Speaker 2 (20:50):
So I'm going to go around the team. I want
everyone and you're listening as well. Where are you now
compared to maybe where you felt Thursday or Friday about
the World Cup.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
And the soccer?

Speaker 2 (20:59):
Use take a temperature on your World Cup fever rio,
where's yours?

Speaker 5 (21:04):
If it's a one to ten, I'm a fifteen At
the moment. It's all I can think about. I woke
up at it. It's all I can think about. I'm
listening to all the podcasts. Watching all the shows on Twitter,
I went on to Turkish newspaper websites to try to
see what they were saying about the soccer rus. It
was awesome. I can't stop now.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
Intern Pete, you had a big, big show for us Friday.
You were live with our basically Soccer World Cup predicting tigers.

Speaker 11 (21:30):
Yeah, most famous tiger in all of Australia, Mali from
the Zambie Wildlife Retreat.

Speaker 12 (21:35):
Hey, how good is that.

Speaker 1 (21:36):
Predicting the winner? Let's just play it back from Friday.

Speaker 2 (21:38):
This was live on the show, tiger being released and
prowling stalking towards two inflatable mele dolls, one dressed in
the Turkey outfit, were with a KFC scarf that looked
a bit like the Turkish car flag colors, and another
one the soccer US predicted.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
Well, predicted the winner. Bye by the way.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
Watching it back over the weekend, Pete, the tigers were
terrified with you screaming that countdown.

Speaker 12 (22:04):
Yes, I'm going to really tigers.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
The tiger's all looked over. They looked that looks startled. Yeah,
I've never seen a startle tiger.

Speaker 12 (22:12):
I envisioned that they would have gone running, but it
was actually quite frightening.

Speaker 1 (22:14):
But probably also never seen a middle aged intern.

Speaker 12 (22:16):
Yeah that is that is very true, wearing a disgusting
gold How.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
Old is that guy? Now he's had some work done,
but how I old? It need to be called intern anyway?

Speaker 3 (22:24):
Five three two one release time?

Speaker 1 (22:32):
When do you any of us get to say.

Speaker 11 (22:33):
That he's gotten very close to the Australia or does
she prefer turkeys?

Speaker 2 (22:38):
She has selected the Soccaroos for socreos. Oh win this
weekend they're going to smash turkeys. Now Peak's got some
other information about stuff off stage.

Speaker 1 (22:51):
We didn't know about the inflating table men.

Speaker 12 (22:53):
Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 11 (22:54):
Look, obviously a lot of learnings after you do a
radio segment, you go, what can we do better?

Speaker 12 (22:58):
What I'm going to do better is with tigers.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
Just sounds unconcerned as to Joe, well done, Now one
got hurt.

Speaker 12 (23:04):
You know, that's exactly right.

Speaker 11 (23:05):
But I mean we nearly didn't make it to air
on Friday because we're having some shoes back end with
the tigers because basically there were two male dolls and obviously,
let's just say these male dolls were the entire time
beforehand very excited.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
Inflated everything all right, So it wasn't just a fingers
Everything is inflated, isn't it.

Speaker 11 (23:26):
Yes, So basically I was like, wait, we're live streaming this,
We're putting this on the internet. And of course I
was trying to tuck things in and bits of pieces
that needed to be done and whatever, and it kept coming.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
And you tape it down or I tried duct tape and.

Speaker 11 (23:39):
Then flicked it down and the next minute Donall's drag Race.
Honestly it was that rio. But honestly it wouldn't stay
down at all. Donna had a saw out at once
day and no, we had to saw one of them
off and then duct tapers, but then try and cut it.

Speaker 12 (23:53):
Honestly, it was.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
Wuld you put that one? In terms of cut of that? Yeah,
there was at graphic scene to see.

Speaker 11 (24:00):
Honestly, if you if you were watching from another world,
you would.

Speaker 12 (24:04):
Go, oh, you humans are terrible people, you really really?

Speaker 1 (24:07):
It was like, but the tiger's all us apex predators.

Speaker 12 (24:10):
Yeah, it was a lot going on, but.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
There's a middle aged intern there sewing off a man's
excited Southern cross.

Speaker 11 (24:16):
Yeah, so apologies to Donna from zambies and I guess
I didn't need to tell everyone the listeners, but that
did happen.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
By no, no, no, they need to know. You can't.
You can't take someone like that to the grave.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
Pete told me Friday, and he was like I could
tell he was having a beer try and get the
images out of his mind. So it's radiotherapy. Share with everyone.
They need to know what you need to know. So okay,
so this Friday, you're back out that, Pete. We're going
to be live streaming at this time so that everyone
can see it live. Obviously, maybe take down the dolls
before we go live with the live streaming or the
or the first bit. Is you fluffing a a inflator man?

Speaker 11 (24:51):
Okay, yeah, I'm gonna honestly, as I said, all the
learnings behind the scenes. It's gonna be a smooth transition
on Friday against the USA, right, So we need to
see if Malaila can come with the goods again.

Speaker 2 (25:02):
All right, so predicting against the USA. Then this Friday,
Tigers are back in action, and I'm thinking maybe we
have like a ca yesterday watching the game seeing the refcam,
you notice that different original angle.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
We've never seen it before. It's amazing.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
Maybe we need one of the blow up human dolls
to have a camera and sent the softao one.

Speaker 12 (25:20):
That is a great idea.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
I just want to see what it's like to have
Tiger coming to.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
I don't want to see that first time, but I
want to see it safely from a radio studio.

Speaker 12 (25:30):
That is going to happen now to get one of
those referee clamps.

Speaker 11 (25:33):
This is going to be great on Friday because if
this Tiger really is I mean it's.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
I don't know what I'm hearing. It's it called the winner.
It's third eye. The Tiger cannot be beaten.

Speaker 11 (25:43):
Yeah okay, so yeah, can she do it again on Friday?
That will be the test that I find out.

Speaker 4 (25:48):
A Christian Connor Show podcast.

Speaker 1 (25:52):
Christian, is the goal of on really back? Yes it is.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
Every time there's goals, any goals in the SOCCERWS games,
we give weigh prices and it's all thanks to Harvey Norman.
And the good news is it's coffee machines. You're already
going to need them as well. This week it's a
it's a crisp five am start.

Speaker 1 (26:10):
That's his kickoff.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
So you really want to be getting warmed up at
four point thirty, limbered up, stretch and get the phone
roller out before the big action at five am this Saturday.

Speaker 1 (26:18):
But right now we're doing a reno for a pub.

Speaker 10 (26:25):
God Save the Pub, God Save the Pub.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
It is Pabarno the Ontoit par Renna. Week two.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
We are renovating an amazing Australian pub, tracing Gary of
the Accidental Publicans, who is in Queensland, one hour and
half outside Brisbane. It's called Hellodon. There's an amazing place there,
the Criterion.

Speaker 1 (26:50):
That's the pub. We're doing up well thanks to four X.

Speaker 2 (26:53):
The pub is calling somewhere between the first sip and
the last laugh.

Speaker 1 (26:56):
It's always a four X.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
Last week we announced the pub and the thing is
we are the people have been working so hard. They're
really up against it. There's less than two weeks ago
because a week Friday we'll going up there doing the
entire breaking show live from the pub for the Grand Rio.
Mean Tracy lift us this update over the weekend.

Speaker 7 (27:16):
Hi, Christian.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
The Renolds are going so quickly it's unbelievable. Syclone and
Tony are going to finish off the signs on the pub.

Speaker 6 (27:26):
They're going to do a mural for us.

Speaker 2 (27:27):
They're also doing chalkboards to the cafe.

Speaker 6 (27:30):
Thanks so much.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
Can't wait for the renaults next week.

Speaker 7 (27:34):
Love Tracy.

Speaker 2 (27:35):
Now there's the Tracy good news that we're getting some
local artists to do the murals because having lived here
for eight years in Victoria, the standards some of those mules.

Speaker 1 (27:42):
It ain't great. That credit house one. Come on, look
looks like he's been an house fire.

Speaker 5 (27:51):
Jack reevot a shocking.

Speaker 2 (27:55):
I'm not entirely short. It's even meant to be him.
Just a discant revolt we don't know about. No, there's
that third Hemsworth Pete is it is that third one?

Speaker 5 (28:03):
Liam, Liam, Chris Barry the other one?

Speaker 1 (28:09):
And thank you so much. The people are offering to
hal Powers.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
Well, we've been inundated with people who've heard about Tracy
and Gary. They brought this pub two years ago to
turn it into aim to home to retiring and then
when they realized this how much it meant to the
community and pubs are they're dying out. Sixty percent of
OSSI pubs have gone over the last twenty years.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
They couldn't do it, so they've never run a pub
in their life.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
They're at retirement age, so they've been running it seven
days a week. Blessir Tracy, who's got more energy than
the rest of us, found out within two weeks of
actually moving into this not pub now we're going to
keep it running. A weub that she's got MS as well,
so people have really moved by this story. If you
go onto a Socials you can have a look around,
you can see all the work that's been done and
just see they are just they're the best of Australians. Actually,

(28:52):
they really are, Tracy and Gary and you'll want to
help them out in whatever way you can. So thank
you very much the emails we've had over the weekend.
Lisa Christian, my photographer and former country pub bartender over
thirty years, Please to see you guys doing this for
the Criterion, which is a beautiful pubs through Chocolate Scorpion Creations,
I'd love to offer up to five hundred dollars worth

(29:13):
of cushions featuring Queensland Bush photography designed to reflect the
classic Aussie pop atmosphere. I can also build them a
website because I know they haven't got that as well.
I want to help the pub keep going over the
next one hundred and twenty years. Lisa's part of your business.
You also you can help us live to one hundred
and twenty years.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
I mean that is long term planning.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
You know, people have to ask you what you see
seven five years, one hundred and twenty incredible, lazy, Yes,
a part of them eternal life. Christian had to co workers,
tell me what you're doing with this reno. We have
to reach out.

Speaker 1 (29:50):
We can help. I work at Koloroo.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
We specialize in shades, shad tales, umbrellas, whatever you need
to keep the pub garden nice and shady for families
and kids and the oldies. Well, Sophia, let me know
if we can help. We really do need your help.
Actually now, the big thing we really need in week
two is for the grand reopening.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
We need live music. What is a pub without live
entertainment and live music?

Speaker 2 (30:14):
Obviously, because you know we're a big show, we should
be to get a good musical act. Intern Pete new
on the show work for twelve years, and Karla Jackieo
the home of apparently all these big show biz interviews.
He said he's got the contact book of everyone who's
anyone in Australia who do we think we need to
try and approach Who do you think it is?

Speaker 1 (30:33):
Rio?

Speaker 5 (30:34):
I would love to see Vanessa Amarossi. I saw her
actually at a pub a couple of months ago and she.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
She was working there, she was running pints, meet Raphael Amarossi.

Speaker 5 (30:48):
And then she jumps on stay.

Speaker 1 (30:50):
She's a double break.

Speaker 5 (30:52):
Her voice is still incredible, maybe better than that's a.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
Good show, she would You also got to think this
is grand reopening, so we want to be able to advertise,
to get a big crowd in for two each time
when we do the big live show.

Speaker 5 (31:03):
Yes, we need a big name.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
We need none mega than v A right exactly, Amarossi paratsly,
who do you think it should be?

Speaker 12 (31:10):
I reckon it should be Johnny Diesel?

Speaker 3 (31:11):
Why not be a tip of my tongue, who's out
of rocker room?

Speaker 2 (31:21):
This sounds like the kind of band you'd see a
covers band doing this. Yes, all right, So who should
we try and get to play live at the grand reopening?

Speaker 4 (31:30):
Christian O'Connell show go on podcast.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
Right now, we're renovating a fantastic pub in Australia, The
Criterion Helodon, Queensland. Two weeks time renovation has to be over.
We're doing the entire show. We're heading up there, we're
going to be doing the reowning live on air, and
we need to bring live entertainment.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
Who should it be At the moment.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
The number one person that people are demanding is.

Speaker 7 (31:59):
What the me.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
If this is Eurovision, Shannon Knowle's your winner.

Speaker 1 (32:06):
Genuinely a runaway. There's more it's a Shannon nole than
any other artists, of course.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
All right, going through some of the textas some of
the other ones. Batchelor girl to batch, the girls screen
country pub in Queensland. I'm sure they do. Someone's chucking
a schnitzel. Had us for bringing them. They're not up
there with Barnsey, Barnsey and buses and trains.

Speaker 1 (32:37):
Is too know what it is? Whimsy, guys, it's whimsy, Yes,
I know what you mean.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
Yeah, all right, going through the text now, Christian, I
want a job on brick Laye. Okay, we'll come back
to that in a minute, mate, Christian. What about Thirsty
Muck Yes read live band, thirsty Michael Marcia Hines angry Anderson, Christian,

(33:13):
what about the roan st rowing stones? Well, that's again,
that's gettable, guys. You know, it's it's fifty between the
Stones and.

Speaker 5 (33:21):
What I think most buzzies would still rather see Nulesy.

Speaker 1 (33:30):
Christian.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
What about Troy Cassady's.

Speaker 5 (33:32):
Big if you beg in Queensland on.

Speaker 2 (33:36):
Troy Cassidy, Chris Man says, Paul Kelly would connect with locals. Okay, you,
Chris Christian. I saw John Stevens Friday night at the Forum.
Still incredible. John Steves would be great. He is still
very very good. True Blue, True Blue isn't me?

Speaker 4 (33:54):
And you?

Speaker 2 (33:55):
I love that song?

Speaker 6 (33:58):
Is it? Mom? Is it?

Speaker 1 (34:03):
Christian?

Speaker 2 (34:03):
That's one person who berthly captures the spirit of Nancy
parb You've already said it.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
It's Shannon. No, that's Lisa joining the.

Speaker 7 (34:10):
What then.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
That's been too interpete here the man with the contact book.
I mean, you must have the numbers or the managers
of virtually everyone I've just mentioned.

Speaker 11 (34:20):
You literally had yelled out, and so I was looking
at my phone as we go as well. It's so
funny because do we mention guy Sebastian as well.

Speaker 12 (34:25):
I had his number, But.

Speaker 11 (34:26):
Then he's also someone that's had I save every single
person's phe number, but he's had eight different phone numbers
over the last fourteen years that I've.

Speaker 12 (34:33):
Known him as well, so I update them.

Speaker 1 (34:35):
Is that to avoid you?

Speaker 5 (34:37):
I think?

Speaker 2 (34:38):
I mean whenever I think Carl and Jack here. I
actually thought he was part of the show. Guysmaster was
on like every third show and big a big guest
comes in eight guy Sebastian.

Speaker 12 (34:47):
Yeah, no, because he just changes his phone park.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
Pretty much.

Speaker 11 (34:52):
Yeah, I got John Williams's number, We've got Marsha Hines's number,
Angry Anderson's numbers.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
There actually genuinely is impressive. It's a hall of phrase.
You've got all the goats in there.

Speaker 11 (35:01):
It's a bit name dropping, but yeah, I keep everyone's
phone numbers, even relevant ones and non relevant ones really
at the end of the day. But I think every
single one of those names. I mean, Shannon, No, he
just amazing live to be honest.

Speaker 1 (35:11):
He's what you need to do.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
You type out a text, you don't put anyone's name
in it, and you cut and paste.

Speaker 1 (35:16):
It and send it to order. Those dear artist.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
Yeah, yeah, no, no, no, dear legend, that eagle, dear legend.
Massive massive gig brackets cash yep brackets. Taxman won't know
about it. Can plug tour dates, merch et cetera. Call
me if interested. No tire kick is no time wasters
legends only.

Speaker 1 (35:39):
Yeah. Perfect.

Speaker 5 (35:40):
That's how you get deals.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
You just wait for those offers to come pouring back in.
It's gonna be so good.

Speaker 4 (35:46):
The Christian O'Connell show podcast.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
Right now, then we have impartan bitsiness to do.

Speaker 2 (35:52):
We've got to find a great musical act to play
at the grand reopening of this pub that we've picked
to do at the ultimate pub reno. And we really
are talking over two hundred and fifty thousand dollars being
plowed into it in a under three week reno, pausing
as them saying that because it doesn't sound right to
do a renovation in three weeks, even three months will

(36:15):
be too short for Barbreno. There have been people who've
been working so hard, a lot of people been given
up the time for free to do this in between
other actual paying jobs as well. But it's already looking amazing.
I've just seen the photos of the sign. Cyclone was
a man who offered to do this. Is a local
lad up there listening to the show and he's on
it looks beautiful, looks awesome and it's not some garish

(36:36):
You know, sometimes when they gut somewhere and make it
shiny and modern, it loses all the original charm. In fact,
I call it it's more a restoration as what we're
talking about now. The number one person you want us
to try and get hold of for the granduri able
to play live is genuinely Shannon.

Speaker 10 (36:52):
No.

Speaker 2 (36:54):
What are the imagine this two weeks time on a Friday. Wow,
all the locals cracking up their massy Ferguson and John
Dear tractors.

Speaker 1 (37:08):
Yeah yeah, yeah, making their way slowly to the live show.
Let me set off like next Wednesday or something.

Speaker 2 (37:13):
Crank up the tractors, combine harvesters coming across the fields.
You think I'm joking, RhE and I've been there. It's
fields and fields and fields.

Speaker 5 (37:21):
Oh yeah, there's no roads.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
And then what an image? But then he has got
one song.

Speaker 2 (37:27):
Guys, come on, drive your tractors, Come on, barners.

Speaker 5 (37:33):
This is why they're driving over Yeah yeah.

Speaker 4 (37:35):
Yeah, yeah yeah.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
The people are getting real annoyed behind them, gang out
of the way, putting the tour bus.

Speaker 1 (37:43):
And got Nolsey put over a farm.

Speaker 2 (37:45):
Obama, I'm thinking right, bang, Hey, he's got he's got
so many big hits, such a Shannon.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
This is presume we get him.

Speaker 2 (37:56):
Okay, Manifestation station, what are the bang? Hey, you got
any more big songs?

Speaker 1 (38:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (38:02):
I have, actually, guys, then he doesn't cover people by us?

Speaker 13 (38:07):
Oh Sem, Dusty sim Dusty Yeah, yes, true Blue and
you know we're in Queen something.

Speaker 1 (38:17):
You have to change your colors true marone.

Speaker 2 (38:20):
Sound beautiful, now, Pete genuine, Have you got any contacts intern?
Pete now on this show, Have you got any contacts
you must do with Shannon? No?

Speaker 11 (38:28):
Yeah, we've got contacts with Nolsey. We've got him directly,
We've got management. So I'm we yep, there we go.
That's the sound that it makes. Sorry, I wasn't ready
for that.

Speaker 1 (38:36):
Be ready, I will?

Speaker 12 (38:37):
There we go again. Hey, I am more happy to
text Nlsey directly.

Speaker 1 (38:41):
Oh god, I hope it doesn't put you out. I mean,
are you so happy to do your job? Thank God?

Speaker 2 (38:47):
I'm actually just want to take a knee right now
and pray to the radio gods for dropping Pete in
our lapse.

Speaker 1 (38:53):
He's happy to do this guy.

Speaker 12 (38:54):
Sorry, I know that didn't sound great.

Speaker 2 (38:56):
But I'm sure you didn't use stuff like that when
your old boss was yet yelling at you to get
guide back on.

Speaker 1 (39:02):
I'm happy did that, Carl.

Speaker 11 (39:03):
The good thing is Nalesey does reply to me, which
is great. So I haven't spoken to him for probably
over twelve months or so, so he's he's a regular
reply so I think he'll be good for a reply.

Speaker 2 (39:12):
All right, then why don't we punch up a powerful
text and offer of the year to Shannon. No right now,
and then you far enough a boy the end of
the day's show, A dead is being done, bigger than
the peace still right now that.

Speaker 5 (39:26):
Trump's don't do I've got I've got a.

Speaker 1 (39:30):
What's the opening? Get them with the opening line.

Speaker 5 (39:32):
I'll get him in with a hook and a pun.
Go on, Nlesey, we need an act asap next Friday.
What about you? Because he sung what about me? I
like that a lot racket haha.

Speaker 1 (39:44):
Yeah, yah, yeah, yeah, that's clever. Yeah all right, Pete's
typing this.

Speaker 12 (39:47):
No, I couldn't type fast. I've just repeated again quickly.

Speaker 5 (39:49):
Need need musical act for next Friday.

Speaker 1 (39:52):
Just readied.

Speaker 2 (39:53):
Also, right before he signed his contract to join our show,
Pete rang me and said, listen I just got one concern.

Speaker 1 (39:58):
I can't type.

Speaker 2 (39:59):
I went, I'm not We're not not hiring an administrators,
you know, like, what do you call court stenographer?

Speaker 1 (40:05):
I don't worry about that. Now.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
Suddenly, when it actually is important, we don't want to
Shannon get it going with this barely.

Speaker 1 (40:11):
Sort of who is this robo call? Yeah? I know.

Speaker 12 (40:14):
The good thing is you can edit text me what about? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (40:18):
What about we? What is it? Who is this guy?
All right? So what we just? Man? What have you
got so far? Need an act? Hang on? Sorry?

Speaker 5 (40:26):
No, musical act next Friday is on the phone.

Speaker 12 (40:30):
Sorry, can you text it to me?

Speaker 1 (40:32):
Old?

Speaker 12 (40:32):
Copy and paste it?

Speaker 1 (40:33):
And actually, so what are we thinking? Then?

Speaker 5 (40:35):
This is say then meet musical act next Friday? Comma,
what about you? Question mark brackets? Haha, So he knows.

Speaker 2 (40:43):
Thousands of our listeners are saying you are the ultimate
pub act person.

Speaker 11 (40:50):
That's really good And I normally write xx on the
bottom of text messages.

Speaker 12 (40:53):
All right, four xes this time good.

Speaker 2 (40:56):
Suddenly he's back in the game, he orders back in
well done, all right, let's send it off.

Speaker 4 (41:04):
