Speaker 2 (00:20):
Hey, this is the Christian O'Connell show podcast.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
On Tuesday Show, we asked you how was your day yesterday?
How did you start the week? How was your Monday?
Evan says, Monday toughest day of the week. Normally we
get it down to three words. I want to expand
it now, so we're going to try something different. The
way that the Internet of the way the world works
now is ratings. Everything's rated. Everything's rated and reviewed. You
don't set foot in a restaurant or order a single
(00:49):
takeaway without I always do that.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
Now, it's amazing.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
There was a time not that long ago in our
lives where you just took a chance.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
Yeah, you made a decision to just had an average meal.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
Yes, no one to complain to, and you got on
with your night and day and we're all fine. The
world turned kept on turning. Now you know, any take
it takes minutes.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
Even parks, local parks and get a rating.
Speaker 4 (01:13):
Public research, don't we it's forensic analysis.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Too much information.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
There's a guy I follow one at Instagram who rates
park benches, around the world. He just found his first
st ever of five out of five. It was amazing.
It was actually pretty emotional. Anyway, I want you to
rate out of five your Monday Monday out of five,
and I will accept halfs Maybe it was a two
(01:39):
and a half. Maybe I hope not that you had
one and a half star Monday. And also then a
couple of lines to review your Monday.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
So I've written mine. It's two out of five.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
Guys, it's a two star Monday. Underground car park at
the shopping center. She says, five minutes. I turned the
car engine off that much. That's how much I believe her.
An hour later, my wife comes that came out with
a laundry basket and a candle. Nobody has ever popped
into Kmart for five five minutes, Nobody for me once,
(02:11):
Sarah for me for twenty eight years.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Why did I fall for this?
Speaker 3 (02:17):
You're ad wait in the.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Car, Chris.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
You just wait in the car, no phone signal, no
phone signal, It's stuck in an underground wall car park
for it was over an hour. And I tell you what,
You'll have too much time to question all the choices
that led you to this. Moment I might start a
podcast series.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Stuck in a car, you know, it's just me.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
And then the guest arrives.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
They get in my car and I interview there we
will both break down together in a darkened situation with
no phone signal under a kart.
Speaker 5 (02:44):
I hope she cracked the window for you, like you
do when you leave you in your car.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Don't dad's in hot cars, decent.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
Water on the floor.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
There needs to be some of RSPCA for dads.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
I saw families going in, coming out, going in and
coming out.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
Five minutes.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
I tried to call her, no answer, no phone service.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
I reckon she'd worked out where the exact black spot
was that she's an woman. I kept texting you, okay,
the only person that okay with me breaking down there rapidly.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
How long is someone came on?
Speaker 1 (03:13):
I'll tell you what they will never but is five minutes?
Did I fall for the five minutes line? No?
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Five minutes?
Speaker 1 (03:22):
I was the same give with myself when she came back,
she went, so it took a bit longer.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
I weren't no well played, wow played? The only four
here is me? Wowye?
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Still falling for that two star Monday for me? At
the end of the day as well.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
That's right. At least it's out of the way, Nay
can have a five star Tuesday.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
Yeah, yeah, you're right, You're right, You're all right, Rio
out of five? How was your Monday yesterday?
Speaker 5 (03:49):
Mine really is a five And I'm still buzzing today.
After sixteen long years, sixteen years of pain and ridicule,
I have won my fantasy football league. Oh wow, I've
always been the butt of the joke in this group chat.
I've had the rudest, meanest nickname assigned to me in
(04:09):
that group chat for so long, but no more.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
And wow, it's actually kind of the cham chat. This
is incredible.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
It's as your big giant, oversized trow know I need one.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
It's actually I was thinking about it.
Speaker 5 (04:24):
It's actually going to change the trajectory of my life
because in this group chat, which I talk in every day,
I always get a horrible nickname. There's always some joke
at my expense. But now for the rest of my days,
now that I've won.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
You know, are you saying that I thinking about We've
replaced the sort of school system with group chat. Yes,
it's a stage and bullying that goes on in there
isn't there?
Speaker 5 (04:48):
Yes? Yes, And if you're at the bottom of the rung,
you dream one day just climbing to.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Be in one of the big lads. Yes, you know,
the senior students of their own common room.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
Yes, I've got my prefector in five.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
Yeah, and now.
Speaker 5 (05:02):
I'll never be the same again. So maybe it's a
five star Monday. And who knows?
Speaker 2 (05:06):
What? Did you have a whacky name for you team?
Speaker 3 (05:09):
Okay, I couldn't possibly say it on air?
Speaker 2 (05:12):
Oh what's that root?
Speaker 3 (05:13):
Yeh?
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Come on, I expect it better from you.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
You're kidding me.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
I really wasn't joking when I said replaced the school
system and they got to name that route.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
There's two rooms for Australian Radio.
Speaker 5 (05:28):
It's a name a year seventeenage boy would give me.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
It's not in the current climate. No, no, they're out
of five for you, sir. Wow, Okay, rate and review
your day yesterday, your Monday? How did you start the week?
Out of five? And then give us a few lines. Patsy,
what some Monday did you have?
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Mane?
Speaker 4 (05:53):
Not very good? Point five for me?
Speaker 1 (05:56):
Oh no, no, I thought that was on the police drinking.
Speaker 6 (06:00):
No, no, excuse me. Point five at school pickup. Audrey
was not impressed. My fifteen year old had a science excursion.
Yes today, And you know, kids these days, you can't
just give them any old excursion like you could for
us in the seventies and eighties.
Speaker 4 (06:14):
We were happy to just go for a bus.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
Just getting on a bus, yeah, going anywhere. It was
a big deal. Just excited, like a day out of prison.
Speaker 6 (06:23):
It really was like one pair up and it's like, right,
something good is going to happen, not for this day
and age. So they had a science experiment.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
Get this.
Speaker 6 (06:32):
They drove round trip three hours in the school bus.
They went to a location, this wetlands location.
Speaker 4 (06:40):
I said, well, what did you do?
Speaker 1 (06:42):
Yeah, yeah, we went to wetlands and UK. It wasn't
just wetlands. It was rain, it was in the winds.
It was a wet wabush. It was more like bleaklands.
Speaker 6 (06:51):
Well that's what it was like yesterday. And I said, well,
what was the experiment you had to do. I'm sure
you learnt something. She said, Mum, we got a hula hoop,
shucked it on the ground. We were there for twenty minutes.
We had to report back.
Speaker 4 (07:04):
What was in the hoop h.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
Come on, it's.
Speaker 6 (07:06):
Grass and wildflowers, she said. Then we got back on
the bus and went back to school and we were there.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
In time for lunch. To have lunch at school, she said,
it sucked enormously.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
That is disappointing.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
That's that's that's no stars.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
I know, I know she was not impressed. We heard
about it all evening.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
Schools love wetlands and Mangrove went to.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
So every schoolcsion as well as a beach erosion every
school year is like we're looking at another beach erosion.
Show be doing something that I pick up a shovel,
those crappy little clipboards.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
And stuff that out you.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Actually we had to always go and quiz the locals,
and the only people that would speach you was the
old people or the local pedophiles.
Speaker 6 (07:54):
But all the amazing things to do in this country,
and they go to a wetland for twenty.
Speaker 4 (07:59):
Minutes, what are we paying these fees.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Margaret bea Come on, schools, we're onto you.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Switch it up. We're in the four K streaming world.
They're going to look at that, and guys and they
want to get back.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
On their phonels reels they're not Wetland Maxing.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
Pete Review, Peak Reting review.
Speaker 7 (08:25):
Or Okay, I love the way of doing this. By
the way, I'm going to go with a three out
of five. But I'm happy to be judged and pulled
back down or up after I.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
Take it You're Monday, Well, we're not going to judge
you all. I feel free, feel free.
Speaker 7 (08:37):
Indeed, I had a good bit of physio yesterday, obviously
getting ready for the Sydney Marathon this weekend.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
However, a little bit too expensive.
Speaker 7 (08:44):
Do we think two hundred and twenty dollars is too
much for a bit of how were you in there for?
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Though?
Speaker 7 (08:50):
Like fifty minutes or so, with a bit of console
and a bit of upselling and a bit of let's
do some.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
Post marathons, they are selling your general sir.
Speaker 5 (08:59):
You know what the most useless part of the physio
is consult the massage that does nothing And just like
I guess we've got twenty minutes.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
You have to do that sort of that skeleton and
answer you the circle where does it hurt? And I
just told you actually was in frontiness was here I
need to draw on this? Man?
Speaker 2 (09:18):
Are you going to look at this?
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Man?
Speaker 2 (09:19):
You're going to I'll just find where that shoulder is. Luckily,
this cruise cave.
Speaker 5 (09:26):
Drawing, I can never understand that they'll explain to you
what's happening in your shoulder.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
So the joint is attached.
Speaker 5 (09:31):
To the fee.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
So if I'm hearing it right, and when we're running
the clock down, go and get the oils. Let's go
to work. That's what I've come here for. Yeah, absolutely,
it's not chitch. I'm not paying you for that. The
clock should start once you're on facedown on that really uncomfortable.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
Hold, absolutely, which is just for your face. What else
would it be for? Don't write it. Don't write that
was the upsetting.
Speaker 7 (09:58):
Obviously, I'm trying to eat healthy, so I had some
good bit of steak, but the jury is out. The
first time I did something pretty crazy as a qualified chef.
I actually cooked my steak in the air fry, which
I had never done. No, I know, I know it
sounds so wrong. I have sent your fighter, but I
do think it.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
Was fine.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
It was fine.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
Did you season it beforehand?
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (10:20):
Absolutely, yes, with some fresh green chilies as well.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
So I'm just trying to basically presentation. It's a five.
The presentation it's great, you got green that it's nice. Yeah,
that was all right, bit of broccoli.
Speaker 7 (10:30):
And then final bad part about the day was I
got home early because I'm renting a pad in the
city and I had a house inspection yesterday what I
thought it was, but it's actually today, so I was
waiting all afternoon with that is you make the bed
a little bit better.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
But the work's all done.
Speaker 7 (10:47):
Everything well, well, now I now I've got to go
back again early today and make sure I do have
made the bed properly because I rushed out this morning.
So look what I'm saying is it's just one of
those things that when the house inspection happens, you just
make that little bit of extra effort that you don't
normally have to do on a day today.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
So I'm going with a three point five.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
All right, you've upgraded yourself now. Christian O'Connell shar Gone
