this is the Christian O'Connell show podcast. Who got in
trouble at school?
Speaker 2 (00:29):
Three year?
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Was a prefix? And imagine Patsy was a gooddy two shoes.
There was no I bet you didn't get no detentions
for you? No, I was an absolute square at school.
Mom and dad were never called up where at school?
Square for life? No? Not for life? No, No, everyone
calls you square bear, find you about they go square bear.
Absolutely was.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
It was pathetic, kids, It's not pathetic compared to my brother's.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
I was a complete opposite. Right, Okay, so we're looking
for your stories. Why did you get a detention and
also the bonus ones? Why did your parents get the
call from school? Did you get intotentions or a trouble
at school?
Speaker 2 (01:03):
I got detentions, but not nothing.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Performance in drama club dropped the ball, lost a debating round.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
The only time I remember my parents getting a call
was when actually I was the victim. Though my friend Andrew,
one of my best friends, were in class and for
some reason someone wanted a pair of scissors down the
other end of the class instead of instead of just
getting up like this is year eleven, like he should
know better, instead of just getting up and handing them
to him. Andrew got up out of his chair, pegged
(01:34):
the scissors across the room just as hard as he
could hit me right in the back of.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
The head, actually could lose its dangerous.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Huge dash blood spirit out of my head. And I
remember the teacher, mister Worth was like he wasn't even
angry at Andrew. He was just so confused. He's like,
he's like, so you you got up out of your
chair and you what.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
About the blood. The hospital.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Parents had to get a call being like, yeah, one
of Ridan's closest friends has hit him through a weapon.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
Through a weapon, scissors in the air, you.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Did him in the sky, and he's bleeding heavily from
the back of the head.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
It used to take a lot to like shot teachers
back in the day. I'd seen it all small sort
of violence was the norm. Yeah, it was expected it,
And then we got a week's worth of the used
to thing. There was detention, then there was head mastered
attention if it was really seriously, and my friend and
I we always sat at the Batcher in maths. I
failed maths at school. I just couldn't. I just couldn't
(02:33):
get my head around at night to stay after school
for extra lessons. His poor teacher, mister Batcher put a
lot of his own time into thicky o'k connor. I
still couldn't get a bubbed. I'm very sorry, mister Batchelor.
But anyway, and once we got a week of detentions
my friend and I because it's bored. If you're at
the back, you were just bored. You make up your
own games, just make up games, just so bored staring
(02:53):
out the window. Anyway, we got you with me, your compasses. Yes,
we start. We agreed to have a compass fight, but
only leg and thigh shots actually jabbing each other in
a leg. Mister Batchler lost his mind, lost his mind?
Actually green, I mean to be fair, it's the only thing.
(03:14):
It's the correct thing to say. Weeks are worth of detentions.
Some text ones upcoming, Christian I got attention for a
food fight in Home Economics through a limerangue pipe my
mates fun times. That's a probably custom pie splurge, isn't it,
Lizzie Chris, good morning, Christian Primary School and our principal
(03:35):
driver yellow car and a student named Dean wrote his
name on her car in green permanent texture.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Writing your name isn't exactly the smartest move.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
He went, Genius of the year, are you Santo Christian?
I got a lunchtime detention. But sticking my head out
the window during a class to wave to another teacher
in the yard. Was trying to be nice. Certain teachers
treated you in schools if you were actually in a
maximum security prison. What the line? No looking round are
(04:08):
in school?
Speaker 3 (04:09):
What is it?
Speaker 1 (04:09):
What does it need to be like this? We got
Steve online now morning Steve, good bye, go we We're
good Steve, welcome to the show. What's your story? Yeah?
I actually got detention for gluing the teacher's talk he
started and he's pointer stick to his desk. I'm sorry
(04:30):
to be laughing at this to all the teachers right
now are on their way to work. You know, but
back in the day, doing something or hiding that was
the ultimate prank on teachers, wasn't it.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
Yeah it's very true.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
But yeah, you know, I cot the two week detention.
I had to give a letter from the school to
be parents and lovely stuff, Steve, Thank you very much,
She cooled. I have a good day. Thanks you calling
Steve to have a good day. Ria, good morning, And
what's your story about getting trouble at school?
Speaker 4 (05:01):
So my parents got a call, but my dad had
my back. So essentially what happened was I hurt my
knee in school, so I was on crutches. This went
on for about four months. I hurt my acl and
unbeknownst to me, were I was riding out a certificate,
you know the backyear diaries for the absentee certificate, each
week going to a video appointment giving it to my teachers,
(05:24):
so they were happy with that. Unbeknownst to me found
out about ten years later that every single time my
dad was getting called to say, Rhea's going to the
video and he was going, yep, no worries. Never found
out of it until ten years after school.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
Ah, that's a good one. All right, Thank you very much,
she coille. Thanks you calling very That's good to Emma.
Now morning Emma. Oh hello, Emma, welcome to the show.
Very good, thanks to Corlin. What's your story about getting
in trouble at school?
Speaker 3 (05:53):
Yeah, so I was at work serving a customer, and
I had a phone call from my son's principal, he's
in year five, saying that he'd come to school with
pornographic materials. He had we'd a couple of weeks earlier,
we'd clear out my grandfather's house and we found a
pack of playing cards.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
I blame your granddad. It's your husband here. We all
know how darey throw an elderly man under the bus.
He's not capable of that, you know.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Well he did tell them that his mother had given
them to him, so definitely not true playing cards. They
were from the nineteen fifties.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
Hot knee action and Ladies and Garters. Not the butler
saw who the keyhole?
Speaker 2 (06:42):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (06:43):
He said?
Speaker 3 (06:43):
The principal said that they the kids had been running
around with them like like they just found the hall ever.
Oh terrible.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
We told him that, yeah he yeah. It was the
most embarrassing phone call of my life.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
And then he had said, but stood a great story
all these years later, right, Emma, that's a great one.
Imagine take on that antis. It could have taken on
antiquess roachhow when it came amy, this is some vintage pawn.
Oh wow, this.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
Nicould be if I wanted them back for sentimental reasons.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
I said, Emma, thank you very much, great story, have
a good day.
Speaker 4 (07:22):
Thank you.
