Welcome to Worst Case Scenario, a new bite-sized episode from Home Beautiful’s The Edit podcast, where we ask our guests about their biggest ‘oh-no’moment in the home.

Today, hairstylist Richi Grisillo tells Elle Lovelock about the rental disaster that hit at the worst possible time, leaving him and his housemates with no bathroom, right as Sydney went into lockdown.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
We were like at four am cross the lane having
a shower and then like getting out and if we
didn't wake up in time, we had to wait until
like nine pm to have out daily shower.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Yeah, welcome to worst case scenario. On the edit by
Home Beautiful, it's where I ask our guests about their
oh no moment at home. It could be a design
decision that went wildly wrong. I guess, moment they still
think about, or something their family will never let them forget.

(00:32):
Let's get into it.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
One of the rentals that we were in in Annandale
massive water issues. There was something wrong with the bathroom upstairs.
It was two story and it just kept getting worse
and worse. We'd gone away. Before we went away on
a holiday, they had gutted out the bathroom yeah, upstairs,

(00:56):
and they were going to complete the works when we
got back. While we were away, Sydney went into lockdown,
like the two week at home isolation. So it was
literally like like shame on us for still going away overseas.
But we then didn't have a bathroom when we got back,

(01:16):
so we're in this two week We had a downstairs toilet,
thank god, but then we were like, well, what the
fuck do we do with you know, we were basically
at like four am sneaking over to the salon because
we lived opposite the salon to have a shower. Glenn
twenty at all down everything just in case we weren't sick.
We tested, we were with all that, but it was

(01:37):
like a case of we were like at four am
across the lane having a shower and then like getting
out and if we didn't wake up the time, we
had to wait until like nine pm to have out
daily shower. Yeah, so we need to get.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
People back in to fix it.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
It took months.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Really, Yeah, that you worked.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Across so like if well we have the worst case
scenario thing where it was like, well would we go
to a gym, like when we could leave the house,
or how would this work? What do a hose in
the backyard?

Speaker 2 (02:16):
That was worst case scenario. You can dive into this
guest's full episode wherever you're listening to this one. We'll
chuck a link in the show notes, or just scroll
up in your podcast or YouTube feed. We'll see you
over there.
