And when I got it into the house, I was
I was like, this is not me.

Really, and it felt stale. It felt really boring.

Welcome to worst case scenario on the Edit by Home Beautiful.
It's where I ask our guests about their oh no
moment at home. It could be a design decision that
went wildly wrong, a guest moment they still think about,
or something their family will never let them forget. Let's
get into it.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
So the worst thing I did was completely like copy
paste a room kind of inspiration. It was something I
saw on Instagram and it was just this beautiful living room.
Everything was beautifully curated, and I basically bought the armchairs,
the coffee table, the lamp, the rug, everything exactly the same.

(00:58):
And when I got it into the house, I was,
I was like, this is not me really, and it
felt so like it.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Felt really stale, it felt really boring.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
And that was like a really hard and fast lesson
into you know, you should adapt things and not just
completely rip off a room, you know, down to the tee,
just because it looks good.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
But it looks good in.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
That context exactly, whereas in the context of my home,
it was like what has happened. So it was an
expensive exercise of sending furniture back, which you know you
don't get the full refund because it's so expensive to
ship furniture. So that was a little lesson in just
curating little pieces that feel like you and not just

(01:47):
like copy and paste by a whole room.

What's good for someone else is not necessarily good for you, exactly.
