Speaker 1 (00:00):
It is Thursday. This will be your last Ask Uncut.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
It will and can I be honest Brittany, Yeah, I okay. Look,
I didn't give some of the previous ask uncuts my
full attention.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
No, I would say you made a bit of a
joke out of some of them.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
I didn't treat them with the level of seriousness that
it was deserving of. And I just want to say,
for my very.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
Last one, redeem yourself.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
I'm gonna give it my all. So whoever's calling in,
just know that you're in safe hands.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Well we do this every single Thursday on our podcast
Life Uncut. We answer your questions and your biggest problems,
and today we have one from Georgia, who I think
is very It's going to be very relatable to a
lot of people. It's like a friendship based question. I
think they've had a bit of a falling out. Georgia,
welcome to the show.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
Thank you. What is happening with you and your friend?
Speaker 4 (00:50):
Okay, So I have been friends with this girl for
probably about like six or seven years now, and it's
just gotten to the point over like this year really
where we just started to really drift apart. And I
don't know whether the friendship is worth pursuing still or
is it something that I just need to kind of
(01:12):
let fizzle out. So yeah, I'm not really sure what
to do.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
I mean, I think we need a few questions here,
like were you best friends? How close were you and
why have you drifted apart? Was there a falling out?
Speaker 4 (01:24):
There was no falling out. Really, we've been like really close.
To be honest, I probably best friends at different points
throughout our life. But yeah, nothing really happened. And so
it's just kind of confusing because I've reached out a
few times and it kind of just keeps going around
in circles like yeah, we will catch up and then
nothing really happened from it, but then she will send
(01:45):
me something and it's just weird.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Sometimes I'm torn with these situations because on one end
of the spectrum, I think, you know, it's really hard
to find good friends. If you've had that friendship there
in the past, Sure you can redeem it, you can
repair it, get it back on track. But then at
the same time, I've had other friends where I'm like,
this is becoming hard work and I don't have time
for this, and I'm just going to cut ties and
move on.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
With my life. There is that really funny meme that's
so accurate.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
It's like being an adult just means messaging a friend
once a week saying we should catch up soon, and
then never catching up.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
It's actually so accurate. I think if that.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Hasn't been a really big fooling now, like you just said,
many j it's hard to find really good people that
you trust. If it's just you guys not being able
to find the time, then I would say pull your
finger out. You can make a bit more effort, like
and her as well. But if there's something more and
for some reason, I feel like there's more to it
that maybe you don't want to share, which is fine,
but if there's something more or a little bit deeper,
(02:42):
there's also that like live love love saying that's like
friends are for a season and a reason and whatever
it is. Sometimes I hate it, but you know what
I mean, Like friendships go through chapters and they change,
and like who you are friends with at a certain
point of your life doesn't necessarily mean you're going to
stay friends with those people.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
In the next chapter.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
I did reach out kind of recently, and she mentioned
that she was having trouble with the friendship and that
she didn't feel like she could tell me.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
Oh my gosh, she's seen her.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
I was going I had been going through a few
things recently. She said she felt like she couldn't speak
to me then about the friendship. So yeah, but I
have no idea what it is.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
So she's she's putting it on you but not telling
you what. She's saying.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Oh, it's something you're doing or going through or done,
but she won't tell you what.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
Oh I mean, that's not a true friend.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
You know what I hate when people are like I
need to speak to you, and you're like let's speak
and they're like not right now, and you're like, I
can't live with that level of anxiety.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
Dude, I hate that.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
Okay, do you know what I think? If they're going
to raise the fact that there's issues but not going
to detail about what those issues are and how you
can overcome them, I reckon cut her. Yeah, drama, Yeah,
like see you later. Bye. You sound like a lovely person, Georgia.
You deserve better, thank you.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
But in all seriousness, if somebody's not adding something to
your life anymore, if you feel exhausted after you speak
to them. If you feel like they're sucking the life
out of you and it's not going places, then I
think time is and energy very precious commodities.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
That are really hard to come by.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
So you don't want to be wasting your life for
people that don't deserve it.
Speaker 4 (04:13):
Okay, that was pretty deep and good of me.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
Thank you very well. And sometimes sometimes I say things
and I'm like, yeah, that was good.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
My favorite was the quote that you beautifully recited from.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
The movie Love Love, Season, Reason whatever.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Shirt.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
Thanks Georgia. I hope it wats out for you, but
I think onwards and upwards for you.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
Yeah, I think so true. Thanks God.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
Oh that is tough.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
It is hard to forget really good friends as an adult,
isn't it, Matt.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
You don't have many.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
I don't have jobs. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
You're right, You've got me.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
How lucky am I
