Yeah, one hundred percent definitely feels like school camp vibe.

We come on in and you know, you've got like
a schedule and all this, But I think, yeah, obviously
we're like pretty good people and we're O. I guess
Queensland as we all grew up the same way, Like
we all kind of had this shat Day one where
we knew we'd lost a series, but we kind of
just spoke about what it meant to everyone, and you know,
I think hearing everyone's stories, it meant something like very similar,

like we all just grew up watching footy wanting to
be a footy player. And I think, you know, we
would all die for this jersey and our teammates. And
I think that's what's good about Queensland is we love
each other off the field, which it goes on the field.

And I think, you know, we're just no dickets underd said,
and I think, yeah, we're probably just good people on
it off the field, which makes.

the time in terms of what's the difference between like
New South Wales and Queensland, And I honestly don't really
know that there's an answer other than you know, we're
just Queensland. It's it's the passion just seems to be bigger, stronger.

It's hard to compare because obviously never been in a
New South Wales Jersey.

Yeah one don't even dream of it, or in that
environment that'd been nightmare, but so never been in that situation,
so it's hard to compare.

But all I can compare it to is the feeling
that you have in the Queensland colors, freaking like little loads.
When she was five, just watching Origin, I actually opened, Lauren,
like I would watch Oragon growing up.

From my own point of view, but if Queensland lost,
it would be like two minutes to go.

think we've actually had a fair few debutantes this series,
which is really exciting. I think, you know, for Queensland
and the youth coming through is really you know, exciting

to watch the young future of the game. But yeah,
Destin Lily are debuting this game, which is really exciting
for them. I think they've been around this group for
this whole campaign and you know, they've been chipping away
off the field and I think, yeah, it'll really show
come Thursday, just how eager and keen they are. I
think it just brings a bit of more hungriness to
the team because we want to win, you know, for

Yeah, the debit. The debit actually, Lauren, do you remember
do you remember your debit debut for Queensland? Like, how
did I'm assuming you didn't get a dacked like Jess,
but how did it go?

I I do remember the debit it was it was good,
lucky enough to be up at Sunny Coast, so it
was a home demitt, debit demitt, so it was yeah,
up in Sunny Coast. It was actually the COVID year,
so it was really weird. The Origin Series was actually
after our enter our w season and we're all in

a bubble up there for it was like three weeks
in our camp and the lead up and I think
I put on three qns in that two weeks just
from eating COVID woo.

But we got the dub.

It was an incredible debut. Yeah, really great bunch of
girls to debut with and it was really good, really
good memories.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
The most exciting thing for me I think about the
Women's Origin Series other than when Queensland does win, is
just the respect barring the Kevins and the ians of
the world that you girls are getting like that the
games are being given and to have that many millions
of eyeballs every time that you hit the field. Jess,

is it something that you talk about or do you
think about that? Are you just like, yeah, we're good.

Oh it's crazy, I think because the first origin, like
was that on my North Sydney over when I debuted
that twenty nineteen, I think there was three thousand people
or something.

Like that, and I was like, Wow, this is crazy.

And then you go to some corp and you get
twenty four thousand or something like that, and then you
see those two million You're like, oh my goodness, like
people are watching and it's you know, it's just crazy.
And I could have never envisioned being in this space
that I am now, Like I think, what ten years
ago or something, I would be like, no, this isn't

I'd be.

You know, not even in this space. So yeah, it's
crazy to think.

And you know, even look at schools now they have
rugby league and they're like I couldn't play rugby league
and school.

I had to go play for a different school because
my school would't allow me. So to now go. You
have Rugby excellent programs and everything like that. Yeah, it's
pretty crazy.

And Jada, I have to say that you were part
of one of my favorite days on this planet last
year with the Broncos winning the premiership. I thank you
not gals, gals, you gotta stay, you gotta stay. I

slightly more because last year that day I had the
best time of my life watching us win that and
then the man won and it was just like nothing
could be better. I remember how I celebrated. How did

Oh it was honestly so good. Like I think just

of view, it was like so surreal and I think

so I think it was really special knowing that we
both made it to the Grand Final, and then once
we'd won, it was so like in the sh it
was so surreal, like it was such a great experience

and moment. You know, it's really hard to put into words,
and I think like the final whistle blows and you
kind of just look around and you're like, this is
what you've dreamed of, and it's like right here right now,
and then now looking back, it's like gone like that,
and you're like it happened so far us in the moment.
But yeah, I think after the Boys, when the Boys won,
they wouldn't have let us go on the field. It

was so weird, like we're like we want to get
this like club photo, and the security wouldn't let us out,
and they walked us to the bus and we just
started legging it past them all to the field. We're
like we just started writing yeah.

The security eyes, yeah, we'll lead you.

That led us to the bus and we're like we're
not getting on this bus. We ran out to the
field and we just like ran through it and I'm
like they can't stop us.

All we went out to the field.

And then Yeah, the boys did like their teap song,
and then we kind of went out and did a
photo then we all sung it again. That was pretty
cool moment out in the field getting that photo and
you know it's all over the the walls that red
heel now, so that's pretty cool.

But then afterwards, yeah, we went back to the cast.
I think we had like a room there and that
was pretty cool. It's kind of just for us, like.

The club and like families and stuff like that, which
was pretty fun. And then yeah, we had to fly
back and we had a fan day straight away, but
we all didn't get onto the bus until like seven
am when the sun was up, and then we'd to
fly back and then do a fan day, so we
all had sunnies on, like going woo with the trophy and.

We're like a bit dusty. And then yeah, from that,
it was just like a whole week of fun.

I had to go I'm with you. I had to
go on National TV afterwards, and I didn't have a voice,
and I looked and I was like, yep, guys, great time.

camps were in different locations, and also like our Origin
period starts a little bit earlier than them to allow
us to get back in time for our NLW pre

pretty separate, but we that being said, we still feel
the support from the Men's team before we play, and

quality of the product's going to be a lot better
because Origin is the highest quality game in the women's
space and they expect us to have that as our
first game. And don't get us wrong, like we do
all that training and pre series work, but you can't
simulate game fitness. So I think having it either at

the end of the NLDOBE season if you bring our
NLDOW season forward, or even if you sprinkle it in
between NLW and have played on a Saturday night or
Friday night and have a buy around in NLW potentially
have other representative games to keep developing. So Fiji samol
Watong RPNG, have them having games against each other as

feels like? Like the school camp vibe?

Yeah, one hundred percent definitely feels like school camp vibe.

We come on in and you know, you've got like
a schedule and all this, But I think, yeah, obviously
we're like pretty good people and we're O. I guess
Queensland as we all grew up the same way, Like
we all kind of had this shat Day one where
we knew we'd lost a series, but we kind of
just spoke about what it meant to everyone, and you know,
I think hearing everyone's stories, it meant something like very similar,

like we all just grew up watching footy wanting to
be a footy player. And I think, you know, we
would all die for this jersey and our teammates. And
I think that's what's good about Queensland is we love
each other off the field, which it goes on the field.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
So yeah, definitely no dighead policy here.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
And I think, you know, we're just no dickets underd said,
and I think, yeah, we're probably just good people on
it off the field, which makes.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
It easier, Lauren. I mean I get asked this all
the time in terms of what's the difference between like
New South Wales and Queensland, And I honestly don't really
know that there's an answer other than you know, we're
just Queensland. It's it's the passion just seems to be bigger, stronger.
Do you think that that is true?

I do.

It's hard to compare because obviously never been in a
New South Wales Jersey.
Speaker 4 (03:49):
Yeah one don't even dream of it, or in that
environment that'd been nightmare, but so never been in that situation,
so it's hard to compare.

But all I can compare it to is the feeling
that you have in the Queensland colors, freaking like little loads.
When she was five, just watching Origin, I actually opened, Lauren,
like I would watch Oragon growing up.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Okay, this is really bad to put out in public.

From my own point of view, but if Queensland lost,
it would be like two minutes to go.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
I would storm into my room crying. I would slam
my door and I would trash my room.

Because I just like it was just that passionate and upset,
and it still happens now. So after gay one and
to you better believe that that hotel room, we're not looking.

She gets a look in her eyes and you're like.

like a bathing stuff.

Yeah, So that passion and every one of us have
that passion.

So I feel like it's really hard to put into
words what that Queensland spirit encapsulates and what it is.
But when, like Jaya said, when we had that chat
earlier in the week, and you can see everyone just
has that passion oos and through them and that's I
feel like that's the difference.

I feel that I have destroyed my childhood bedroom a

How are they feeling? I mean, do you guys remember
the first time that you ran out for Queensland and
how different was it from NRLW.

I don't know if his say was Kevin, but someone
said that my grandma was there, and oh that's a

super excited. They're I think they're prepped really well. I
think we've actually had a fair few debutantes this series,
which is really exciting. I think, you know, for Queensland
and the youth coming through is really you know, exciting

to watch the young future of the game. But yeah,
Destin Lily are debuting this game, which is really exciting
for them. I think they've been around this group for
this whole campaign and you know, they've been chipping away
off the field and I think, yeah, it'll really show
come Thursday, just how eager and keen they are. I
think it just brings a bit of more hungriness to
the team because we want to win, you know, for

them for their debut.

Yeah, the debit. The debit actually, Lauren, do you remember
do you remember your debit debut for Queensland? Like, how
did I'm assuming you didn't get a dacked like Jess,
but how did it go?
Speaker 3 (09:31):
I I do remember the debit it was it was good,
lucky enough to be up at Sunny Coast, so it
was a home demitt, debit demitt, so it was yeah,
up in Sunny Coast. It was actually the COVID year,
so it was really weird. The Origin Series was actually
after our enter our w season and we're all in

a bubble up there for it was like three weeks
in our camp and the lead up and I think
I put on three qns in that two weeks just
from eating COVID woo.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
But we got the dub.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
It was an incredible debut. Yeah, really great bunch of
girls to debut with and it was really good, really
good memories.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
The most exciting thing for me I think about the
Women's Origin Series other than when Queensland does win, is
just the respect barring the Kevins and the ians of
the world that you girls are getting like that the
games are being given and to have that many millions
of eyeballs every time that you hit the field. Jess,
(10:50):
is it something that you talk about or do you
think about that? Are you just like, yeah, we're good.
Speaker 4 (10:55):
Oh it's crazy, I think because the first origin, like
was that on my North Sydney over when I debuted
that twenty nineteen, I think there was three thousand people
or something.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
Like that, and I was like, Wow, this is crazy.
Speaker 4 (11:06):
And then you go to some corp and you get
twenty four thousand or something like that, and then you
see those two million You're like, oh my goodness, like
people are watching and it's you know, it's just crazy.
And I could have never envisioned being in this space
that I am now, Like I think, what ten years
ago or something, I would be like, no, this isn't
(11:27):
I'd be.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
You know, not even in this space. So yeah, it's
crazy to think.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
And you know, even look at schools now they have
rugby league and they're like I couldn't play rugby league
and school.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
I had to go play for a different school because
my school would't allow me. So to now go. You
have Rugby excellent programs and everything like that. Yeah, it's
pretty crazy.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
And Jada, I have to say that you were part
of one of my favorite days on this planet last
year with the Broncos winning the premiership. I thank you
not gals, gals, you gotta stay, you gotta stay. I
know I love you too. I love you too. You
know that. You know that, Jersey, you know I love you.

You know I love you. However, Jada, I love you
slightly more because last year that day I had the
best time of my life watching us win that and
then the man won and it was just like nothing
could be better. I remember how I celebrated. How did
you celebrate?

Oh it was honestly so good. Like I think just
from a whole I'm getting the eyes looked at me now.

He stayed in the room to make sure.

Yeah, yeah, it was just from a whole club point
of view, it was like so surreal and I think
like we knew that like this is like really a
rare occasion, Like you know, it's not going to happen
probably too many times like it for any club really
so I think it was really special knowing that we
both made it to the Grand Final, and then once
we'd won, it was so like in the sh it
was so surreal, like it was such a great experience
(13:03):
and moment. You know, it's really hard to put into words,
and I think like the final whistle blows and you
kind of just look around and you're like, this is
what you've dreamed of, and it's like right here right now,
and then now looking back, it's like gone like that,
and you're like it happened so far us in the moment.
But yeah, I think after the Boys, when the Boys won,
they wouldn't have let us go on the field. It
(13:23):
was so weird, like we're like we want to get
this like club photo, and the security wouldn't let us out,
and they walked us to the bus and we just
started legging it past them all to the field. We're
like we just started writing yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:37):
The security eyes, yeah, we'll lead you.
Speaker 4 (13:38):
That led us to the bus and we're like we're
not getting on this bus. We ran out to the
field and we just like ran through it and I'm
like they can't stop us.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
All we went out to the field.
Speaker 4 (13:48):
And then Yeah, the boys did like their teap song,
and then we kind of went out and did a
photo then we all sung it again. That was pretty
cool moment out in the field getting that photo and
you know it's all over the the walls that red
heel now, so that's pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
But then afterwards, yeah, we went back to the cast.
I think we had like a room there and that
was pretty cool. It's kind of just for us, like.
Speaker 4 (14:09):
The club and like families and stuff like that, which
was pretty fun. And then yeah, we had to fly
back and we had a fan day straight away, but
we all didn't get onto the bus until like seven
am when the sun was up, and then we'd to
fly back and then do a fan day, so we
all had sunnies on, like going woo with the trophy and.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
We're like a bit dusty. And then yeah, from that,
it was just like a whole week of fun.
Speaker 1 (14:33):
I had to go I'm with you. I had to
go on National TV afterwards, and I didn't have a voice,
and I looked and I was like, yep, guys, great time.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
Loved it.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Yeah, perfect, perfect. Oh, It's just it seems like there's
like there was a bit of I mean eventually it's
security guards to the side. There does seem to be
this genuine crossover between like the Boys team and you
guys is there with the men's Origin team. Do you
guys hang out at all or is that just not
a thing?

No, it's it's hard, I feel like because like our
camps were in different locations, and also like our Origin
period starts a little bit earlier than them to allow
us to get back in time for our NLW pre
seasons and things like that. So it's yeah, it's it's
pretty separate, but we that being said, we still feel
the support from the Men's team before we play, and

vice versa.

On the timing of the series, like the Origin series,
do you like where it's at right now? Proceeding that?

Yeah. I think one of one of the best origins
we've had. I think it would have been twenty twenty
two and it was the Camper Origin and it was
actually that was also after an NLW season, and I
just think like for the girls just for injuries, like
going having an NLW season where condish and where strong

we fit, where game fit and also the product. The
quality of the product's going to be a lot better
because Origin is the highest quality game in the women's
space and they expect us to have that as our
first game. And don't get us wrong, like we do
all that training and pre series work, but you can't
simulate game fitness. So I think having it either at

the end of the NLDOBE season if you bring our
NLDOW season forward, or even if you sprinkle it in
between NLW and have played on a Saturday night or
Friday night and have a buy around in NLW potentially
have other representative games to keep developing. So Fiji samol
Watong RPNG, have them having games against each other as

well as the Origin.

And have like a little rep round.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
This is me preaching to PVL know, well, that fair
what I think would be a good.

to me that the first game that you would technically
play for a season is an origin game. Like what

you do in house.

Trials, but what's the point of bashing each other in
a sense, Like you still do the in house trials,
but it's never going to be the same as what

wear the jersey, we want to play, so when you're
doing their pose, like you're still mindful of like injuries
in a sense because you know that that stuff can
