Speaker 1 (00:10):
I heard podcasts, hear more kids podcasts, playlists and listen
live on the free. I heard the Will and Woody podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Woodrow thirteen one o six five. I'd love for you
guys to call or text oh four two nine thirteen
one o six five.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
What do you publicly police?
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Because I reckon there's some things that you've got to
be a little bit careful about.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Yeah, what do you mean publicly police? Like citizens arrest?
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Well, I suppose that would be the like the extreme
end of it, but the most common would be like
telling someone off.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Oh right, you see someone littering?
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Oh, sure, spitting, but those things are actually illegal, like like.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
Bitting's spitting illegal, Not that I spit in Singapore, I
think it's illegal, Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Singapore, Yeah, I don't know where the spitting is illegals.
There'd be a great example where you go, you know,
you look at something of.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
It, don't passing wind?
Speaker 2 (01:15):
You know people would cough without people that cough with
that putting their hand over the mouth.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Oh, especially during COVID, not during COVID even well, now
I come on, fair going now.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
I'm saying, but if you do that on the train,
you're going to get a look from some people definitely
passing wind.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
Yes, said that, you're going to get a look from
some people playing music on a train with no headphones in.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
It's outrageous. Even so, would you police that? Would you
go like, sorry, mate, well.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
I'm not confrontational. I believe the carriage. I'd go to
a different carriage. You know, when people have phone calls.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
Bear beating in the chat once that's playing music out
of the phone speaker.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
We talked about that one. Remember that, Oh India, they're
they're they're making it illegal on their planes to bare beat,
to bare beat, the anti bear beating. You have a
bear beating it on a plane. You know, I'm way
too conscious of annoying people around me. I would never
do that. Okay, it's sad. It's sad that I can't
(02:14):
bear beats. Weird all you guys, Yeah, we didn't bring
up I.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Didn't bring up bear beating. We all know it sounds
like something else. That's not my problem. That's not my problem.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
That's just the word. The word. At the end of
the day, and.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
What have you insinuated in your sick little minds. That's
up to you now. The reason I'm bringing this up
on thirteen one and six five. What do you publicly police?
What can you probably belice? Is probably the question. I
was taking my dog Stevie for a walk this morning,
and there's a guy who's moved in across the road.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
I haven't met him yet. See the guy with the boat.
I hate that boat that sits in your street. Sorry,
it is, he is, he is, it's not. We're not
near the beach. But like, I like that guy. I
take you. I like his house. I like his and
I think his kids. Listen. We love we love the boat.
We love to take it out. I suppose you're near
(03:10):
a river. Sorry.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Okay, So there's a guy's moving across the street.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Sorry about that. And I was taking Steve for a walk.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
Yeah, Stevie does a w on the nature strip opposite him,
so on the other side of the road, so like
practically my nature strip, right yeah. And he's fine, okay,
but he's too far away. He's just he's got one
of the boxes that he's that he's moving into his
house with in his arms.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
He yells out, you're gonna pick that up?
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Well, that's what I said. I said. My blood boiled
because I was like, I've lived on this street for
eight years. Your place, mate, know your place. I'm king
of the street. No thy place, I think Jesus once said.
So I was like, mate, back off, it's a we
and he goes, are you sure, and I was, like
(04:08):
I said to I said, I'm two meters from it.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
And then I said, would you like to come and check? Oh?
Yeah love that? Put your box down? Yeah, I love that.
And then he just you know, gave me this. I
think he actually got a bit scared.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
I think Sam said I was actually quite aggressive, but
I was, but I was, but I felt threatened, and
I had this moment of like, I hate that, like
people are policing me for whether or not I'm picking
up my dog's pooh.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Well, I think because it was a pooh, I think
that is policeable. Can I just say if you if
you walked outside my house and your dog taka pooh
on my nature strip, you would be picking that up.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
Of course, but I but that's what I'm saying, I
would pick it up. So the fact that he's questioning
whether I am picking it up or not, I was like,
back off, Like that that was to the level of
scrutiny was way way too high, and he was presumptuous
to think that. And I've also picked up Stevie's Pooh
for seven years. I picked up a metric ton the
best of dog Pooh, the best down my hands.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
A little fun fact when you pick it up you
like to squisch it in your hands because it feels
warm on a cold There you go. So I don't
even mind it. I actually quite like it. It's your dog.
You look forward at your dog at the end of
the day. Told me you get angry if she doesn't
pull on a walks and you don't get a squish.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
I don't get a little bit, a little bit of
a hand warmer. So it's not my problem, and that's
something that I would definitely do. So I got very
annoyed that he was policing me for that.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
So let thirty one six. What can you publicly police?
Slight extension? Slight extension from this? Do you think you
can police if you pick up the dog poo? People
have been putting their dog poos in my bin oh,
so this is a good thing to publicly police. Do
you think you can police where people put their dog
(05:50):
pool after they pick it up?
Speaker 2 (05:51):
That's an extension, mate, That falls under the umbrella. What
can you publicly police? We'll take those calls up next
thirteen six five. I think it's fair game. If your
bin's on the street, your bins on the street, your
bin is on the street, that is fair game. Get
it off the street. Then, I mean, I think double
(06:11):
parking when he's down with that. You know, someone's double
parked out in the front of a shop. You public
people are you going like, why what are you doing? No,
I'm not, you know, let him go, my confrontational parking
is just a way to go, isn't it, Like, you know,
double parking, It's part of life, you know. Mum used
to go, I'm just going to double park for thirty seconds.
Can you run in and grab the vision chips? But
that's just you've got a minute, right, You've got a minute.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
Right. That's totally fair. But people hate that, of course
they do. Hold them up. Let's go to Jody here. Jody,
you're like, will you you your neighbor tried to police you.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
Oh my goodness, she sure did. She rang the doorbell
and then she said, oh, I think maybe you should
put the sprinkler on the front lawn.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
Oh, Jody, I'm a big grass guy. How how was
the front lawn looking? Be honest, Well, the moment's.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Fine, but it's my front lawn.
Speaker 4 (07:01):
Lawn.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
Die, I comment my lawn die? She said, I think
the bush fires are coming.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
Why why don't bring in bush fires? Our urgeous get
hurt of hose your front lawn.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
If you know that, Jody, I know that reminds me
of that time and when we used to get encouraged
to telling our neighbors during water restrictions.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
Do you remember that?
Speaker 2 (07:22):
I was a weird time to be alive, have big fences,
saying like oh I used tangle, yeah, yeah yeah, And
you used to got encouraged to snitch on your neighbor
for using too much water.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
It did it every week. Was Awesome's got Drew here
and they never knew who was snitching Drew. It was
like a Dover's hotline. Here we go. You're come in
for me, Drew. You disagree with me? What about I
disagree with you?
Speaker 5 (07:48):
Part is public knowledge.
Speaker 6 (07:50):
If I am walking my dog and it's stuna poo
and I see willy bin, I will pick it up
and I will.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
Check it in the bin and try it to your belt. Drew,
and you can get to your own house and you
can throw it in your own bendra. I agree, Drew.
I agree, No, no, well, I agree with you. Would
thanks true appreciated. Let's give Drew something. Let's give the
tickets to go and see super Girl the movie. That's
(08:17):
for Dree. Got on your drink.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
I agree when you walk because midnight, Sunday night, Monday morning.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
For us, same with me, Same as me.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
I love taking the dog for a walk on Monday
morningcause I don't have to wait for a bin.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
It's just it's a free it's free for all. I
can only be on the streets, so you'd never even
step a foot into someone's front yard to put it
in their bin. It has to be on the street.
So what because I used to have bins that were
on the front fence and my god, this was assaulted
with dog. I remember the My bin was half little
bags of dog poop. Would you do that? Nah? Drew
(08:50):
stands on that visit having for you. It's the time
that when you've got like a bag of pool, you
want to get rid of it.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
I get that you want to get rid of it.
And what's your problem that your bins on the street.
You've opened yourself up to attack. Can I ask you
a question? You know, when there's a skip bin on
the street, Yes, there's a construction site going on.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
Yes, do you ever put anything in there that illegal? Well? No,
but it's the same premise. Well it's the same legal premise.
I say to mim, there's a skipping in the street,
get everything. It's the same premise. It's not pooh. I
don't get my poo and put it in there. I'm
not saying I put my bow and sounds like you agree.
(09:33):
If there's a been on the street, it's fair, it's
fair game. But it has to be I've been doing
to get picked up once every two weeks, and they
stink when there's there. Alice, you're a self confessed police
are of people? What are you? Police? Am on ours?
Speaker 6 (09:46):
One hundred percent? Anything that's just not respectable. One of
the things is when people have their phones on loud
like they're watching a video public.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
What it's called?
Speaker 6 (09:59):
Yeah, anyway, anything else. I've been told off because I
asked people to move a blanket at the footy game.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
They me off or.
Speaker 7 (10:11):
Reserve.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
I'd get seats with it.
Speaker 6 (10:14):
And it takes up so much room. I just do
it all the time.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
What about talking on the concert? What about talking in
the concert?
Speaker 6 (10:19):
Alice, No, because that's you know, like you you know,
it's already fair game there because everything is all loud.
Talking at church and talking at meetings is something totally different.
I always look back at people when it's a quiet
room and they're talking. I'm like, if you want to talk,
I've said it to people, just go outside and the people.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Alice, We're going to have to go to Susan. But
I appreciate thanks, mate. He's like, gosh, she sounds like
a right. We've got a few texts that have come
through that I should get to, Ruby said. Ruvie said, no,
it's good, it's good. There there are rules that we
should we as worth being respectful.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
She's the queen of that.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
Absolutely loves give her the super Girls. Ruby said, I
beep at people if I drive past them in the litter.
That's definitely one to also telling people to off their
phone when they're driving because it's just dangerous.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
Yeah, yeah, no, good call, great call. Alice will definitely
do it publicly.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Police people who walk their dogs on days when it's
too hot. See, I would take me.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
I would have an issue in that you can't you
can't make a comment on whether it's like it's my dog?
Is it dogs out there as well? There Susan's killed.
What are you publicly police?
Speaker 8 (11:33):
I don't mind if the dogs have done the pool
on the lawn because it's free fertilizer. I mean these people,
I mean on a cement, all right, but on the lawn.
When the rain comes, it goes into the lawn.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
Just rub it in, Susan.
Speaker 8 (11:44):
These people need to get a life. Really, there's more
important things in the world than the dog. Who are
getting excited about these things, and I'm sure that when
they do something wrong they have and nobody.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
Dogs them in reach.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
Yeah, I agree to it. Now SU's final question. We
have gone full am am radio here.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
I'm loving I just kept taking these calls.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
How the open line, Susan, What do you think if
there's someone's put their bins out the night before and
you just walk in your dog and your dog's down
a pooh? Do you put can you put your the
pooh in? Somebody's been.
Speaker 8 (12:15):
I've got dogs, but I don't do it, but I know,
I mean, look, I don't mind if they put it
in it this night before collection. But if the ben's
already been emptied, yes, that's a week.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
Thank you, Susis Olivia Rodrigo, have we've got some play.
I'm gonna say she's she's up there with the biggest
guest we've ever had on this show, and let's be honest.
Goddamn SAMPI, God, she's good. The only reason we got
the chat is because Small's is currently in London. He
(12:44):
couldn't do the chat the boys. No, we were sitting
there waiting for it. So we got to Livia Rodrigo.
Now before we play the interview. Yes, I think it's
worth mentioning. We haven't talked about this, but we got
connected with Olivia Rodrigo. I'm obviously very intimidated. I'm nervous.
She's Olivia Rodrigo, She's a huge deal. You decided that
moment to run out of the room, leaving me one
(13:07):
on one with Olivia. Yeah, the most horrific. Well, we
all know you're better at the pattern, you're better at
the small talk well made, not with people like Olivia Rodrigo.
My small talk was horris. I I had a necessary
prop to go and get no. I get that, I get,
but you should have got it before. I probably should have.
I probably. I've spoken to my lawyers about deleting all
audio of my small talk Rodrigo, so no one, no
(13:29):
nobody will hear that. Everyone it's been deleted. It is gone.
So we're going to pick up from the moment that
you returned to the room with the album.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
Yes, I believe you can see this on our YouTube channel,
Will and Woody a bit later on or maybe.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
Right now, Sexy dars, Well, yeah, literal later on, go
and check it out. I you're going to see this
for yourselves.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
But yeah, here is the moment that I rescued Woody
from Olivia Rodrigo. What I went to go inside and
get was this ah which I've got a copy of
your record Guts, Oh my god, I know this is
the old record. You need to send me a copy
of the new one. I'll wait for a signed version.
That's fine, to be wonderful, please. But the reason I
want to show you that is because we work obviously
(14:09):
on commercial radio, but I'm a huge music buff.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
I've got like thousands of records.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
It's very rare for me to buy a pop record,
a current pop record. The only two that I have,
Billy's most recent one and then this one, because well, Matt,
you wound back the clock, You're You're Alanis Morissett. Like Freeborn,
there's that awesome teenage feminine angst crushed with just like
(14:37):
delicious songwriting, hooks, harmonies, like riffs, melodies, bridges.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
I mean, Vampire was the.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
Best anthem that I'd heard in like ten years.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
It's you.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
You're a tour to fource And then you know, someone
told me the other the other day, you're twenty three.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Or something, and I nearly fell off my chair. How you?
Speaker 2 (14:58):
Where are you finding all the Where are you finding
the get up? Where's that coming from?
Speaker 4 (15:03):
I mean, thank you?
Speaker 7 (15:04):
First of all, It's like such a sweet, beautiful comp Yeah.
I mean, I don't know it's funny because I am
a really obviously happy, positive person in my day to
day life. But I think music is a really special
medium where you kind of have freedom to talk about
the uglier parts of yourself, the parts that kind of
wants you to quiet down about, like being jealous or
(15:26):
being angry, or feeling rage or insecurity. And I've always
felt like songwriting was kind of a safe space for
me to explore those parts of myself, and so yeah,
I'm really grateful that it's my job because it's a
really therapeutic, beautiful.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
Experience for me. It almost feels like I listened to
the whole first album this morning, which by the way,
is just such a journey. Like you start off and
I was relating to the feelings of falling in love
with someone, and there's so much like lightness and excitement
about that, and then all of a sudden in the
second half, it's like things start to go badly. And
I mean in the song the Cure, you know, I
(15:59):
just love that idea of you thought that this was
going to be an antidote, but it's just it's not.
And then your heart gets ripped out in the second half,
and it almost feels like when you're listening to it
that you're getting like a musical version of someone's personal
journal through the entire thing. I am wondering though, like
people that are close to you, like because as you said,
(16:19):
you're a very bubbly happy person, and I'm sure there
are people that are close to you that might hear
some of these lyrics in your songs and go, WHOA.
I didn't know that. Do you feel like you need
to like have chats with people before they hear the songs,
or does the music actually open up some like deeper,
strong conversations with loved ones. Yeah, when you.
Speaker 7 (16:38):
Ask me that question, the first story that I thought
of was a week ago, I had like a little
bit of an album release party thing where I just
like plead some fans some songs, and my mom was
in the room and I hadn't played for the song
Less off of the record, which is the probably sightest
song on the record. It's like kind of devastating, Yeah,
and I got to play it from my mom. I
don't know I plead her lives of the record, but
I guess I just that one slipped my mind. And
(17:00):
she was just balling her eyes like fifteen minutes, like bawling, balling, bawling,
and I had to kind of consult. I'm like, it's okay,
it's just a song, so good. And then like the
next day she walked into my room she just was
like thinking about it and she started crying again, and
I'm like, oh, my mom is very emotional like me.
That's where I get it from. But you know, sometimes
(17:24):
sometimes people are you know, surprised by it?
Speaker 2 (17:26):
I guess yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Well you said it's
an outlet for you.
Speaker 1 (17:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
What comes with that, naturally is being an icon, a
popular icon, someone that people follow, people who are influenced by.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
I saw something about you the other day on Reddit.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
Which I just thought was so funny, which was because
this comparison of you and Emily in Paris, and everyone
was like.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
And I was like, this poor girl, Like what is she?
Speaker 2 (17:51):
It was just a photo of you nextual the Eiffel Tower,
and the whole thing was just like, oh my god.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
And I was like, wow, she's she's taking a holiday photo.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
But like whatever, But you've kind of gotta You've kind
of got to carry this with you everywhere you are now.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
And we actually spoke to the other day, who are
we speaking to, speaking to your friend Camilla Mendez. We
interviewed her, Yeah, and she was having a chat with
Idris Elba and she revealed that she brought you along
to one of Idris Elba's DJ sets. Yeah. Now, Idris
tried to play it cool, as he always does, and
he said that he wasn't at all intimidated by the
(18:26):
fact that he found out that you were coming to
one of his gigs. But I'm interested to ask gigs.
I think you're more of an honest person. Have you
ever felt intimidated by the knowledge that someone was coming
to one of your shows?
Speaker 7 (18:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (18:38):
Well I was actually intimidated.
Speaker 8 (18:40):
To me.
Speaker 7 (18:41):
I remember being like, wow, he's so beautiful.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
He is.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
Well, that was funny because that's what we were playing
with Camilla as we were playing, like you know, do
you still find Idris cool? And she's like, well, I
bought And this is the question I was asking, is
she brought you along? Because she was like, I need
to up my cool game if I'm going to an
Idres gig.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
So she brought you. So I was like, did you
know that you were the cool weight in that deal?
Speaker 7 (19:03):
I am happy to as long as I can attend.
I'm trying to think. I think I was really scared.
David Byrne came to my Guts show Wow, and I'm
like stepping out on stage and being like.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
Oh my god, Wow, what am I gonna do? Wow?
Speaker 7 (19:22):
But there's some instances like that. The best is when
people don't tell you that they're coming and the only
reveal after because then you don't get in your head and.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
Get weird about it. Yeah, so does your team make
sure they do that, Like if your team finds out
that someone really I've actually told my team.
Speaker 7 (19:36):
Yeah, like if someone cool comes, like, I'll let me
know after it just freaks me out too much.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
So David Byrne was there, So obviously there's a huge
time with talking heads. But let's talk a little bit
about Robert Smith and the CUA because they're a huge
part of this record as well.
Speaker 7 (19:51):
Yeah, it's so funny. I wrote the song drop Dad,
which shouts him out. I wrote it way before I
played Glassenbury. Then I played Glassenbury with him, and then
after playing glass with him, we made the song We
we made a song What's Wrong with Me together, which
was insane career honor, like I cannot live it that happened.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
Does he give you a call? Is he just like
let's do a song?
Speaker 8 (20:14):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (20:14):
Well after Glassenburg we sort of kept in contact and
you know, sort of became friends with Rock.
Speaker 4 (20:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
Yeah, I don't.
Speaker 7 (20:23):
I don't call him Rob yet. We're not that call him.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
Call him Rob. You should slip into than we are.
Speaker 7 (20:34):
But no, we just we just hung out and corresponded
and and just like he kept talking and we went
into the studio a few nights in London, which was
really rad, and I wrote this song What's Wrong with Me?
And I sent it to him and I was just
like so nervous. I'm like, it would be kind of
cool if you wanted to sing on this baby. He
was really into it, and so we made it together
(20:54):
and made it happen. And he's just I can't say
enough nice things about him. He's the most wonderful. So
it's it's a real honor that he's he's on the record.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
Wow. Just on the song the Cua, I think it's
the greatest song ever, by the way, the Cure. I've
listened to it six times this morning. I'm just obsessed
with that. But the whole point of the Cure is
that the thing that you thought was the antidote was
not the cure. But I want to ask you, because
I want to leave this some optimism here, what is
the cure?
Speaker 7 (21:19):
That's a great question, you.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
Know what it is.
Speaker 7 (21:21):
It's like all of the old things that your parents
say that you're like so annoying, like they always are
actually true. And you know, I think I think the
cure for lots of things is not.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
Being on your phone.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
I really believe that it's.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
A simple thing. Just get off your phone. Life so
much better. Treat answer, and my parents will love that
answer next time they're trying to convince me of something.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
Congrats again on another record. Yeah, I'll wait for the
signed copy on the next one. But it's been lovely
to meet you man. Thank you so much for coming
on the show.
Speaker 7 (21:49):
Thank you guys so much for taking the time.
Speaker 9 (21:50):
I appreciate it's nice to see you.
Speaker 1 (21:51):
See you later.
Speaker 4 (21:52):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (21:52):
Bye.
Speaker 7 (21:54):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
You said that three times? Three times you asked for
a signed copy of like, first times a joke, second
time was like put it, damn will three times you
ask for a signed copy.
Speaker 2 (22:04):
Well, I'll do the one laughing when I get myself
assigned copy of the new record.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
Definitely not, I reckon. She's almost definitely said it. We've
got produced to living here. Who organized the chat? Is
she sitting one? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (22:14):
Did you?
Speaker 7 (22:15):
Did?
Speaker 8 (22:15):
You?
Speaker 1 (22:17):
Obviously that the people since yeah, we're the other thing,
which we should mention why it was almost a perfect chat.
It was almost a perfect chat. But live so you
told us before we spoke to her. That's breaking news
like this was hours before our chat with the lineup
to Daisy Chains.
Speaker 9 (22:36):
Daisy Chain Fields was the all female music festival that
she had announced when she was talking to us her time.
Speaker 1 (22:44):
It was that day, hours before the chat, hours before. Yeah,
cool lineup as well, super cool lineup. You should have
mentioned Stevie Nixon's playing the step. It's world news, world news.
We had the person who announced it hours it's her
festivally did she announce its her? And you reminded us
of this two minutes before the chat?
Speaker 4 (23:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (23:03):
About that?
Speaker 1 (23:03):
I reckon, didn't mention it, not once. I don't reckon.
She must have been so shocked. Boys, you've got a
free hit. You miss that. That's the last time we
ever speake to the num one artist in the world.
We all know it. Anyway, The one time was great.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
It was good. We had a good time. We had
a good times. They said, you can see that chat
on YouTube. Well, what do you check it out? What's
right now? Your chance to win ten thousand dollars.
Speaker 10 (23:30):
Weird five Fire, Season three of the HBO original series
House That the Dragon is now streaming only on HBO Max.
Speaker 1 (23:44):
I'm righty, you've been away for a couple of days,
but you know the rules are the same. It hasn't changed.
Good to hear you, guys.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
As I checked in, there was a woman who has
wrapped a journal in her wedding dress.
Speaker 1 (23:55):
Okay, it's changed a lot since then. Okay, it's changed
the lights. Let's explain the concept. And then you can't
figure that out. So you guys are offering us really
like personal items to you. They're really sentimental to you.
And then we are throwing that item into a fire.
That's not that's not like a metaphor. We are literally
throwing that thing into a fire. We've got pyrotechnics team.
(24:16):
It's all looking great. Right, that's something tomorrow, by the way,
we are throwing something in a fire tomorrow. Now we
have to choose tomorrow. We have to choose the most
sentimental item, and then that person wins ten thousand dollars.
Now will be Currently, we've got a recorder. Someone's just
a little flute, like a flip.
Speaker 2 (24:39):
Wow, that's the most sentimental thing that we've we've had.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
I'm just kidding, man, just kid. I knew you were
looking at me. You're like, I leave the show for
forty eight hours and you've ruined everything. That's what happens.
It can happen, It can happen, happen, you'd be proud
of me. So we've got in the leader is John,
who has given us an album of baby photos of
him as a baby. Right, there are no digital backups.
Both of his parents have died. So if he throws
(25:05):
these in a fire, very grim, these in a fire?
Speaker 2 (25:10):
I mean, sorry, how's the dragon can be a bit grim?
It's a bit that's the whole point. It's theatrical, it's
it's sacrifice all things.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
The reason it's so house of the Dragon. If he
throws these in a fire, there's no evidence to say
that he ever really existed. It's it's weird. It's like,
there's no evidence. There will be no evidence anywhere in
the world of me any time before now. If he
throws this album in the fire, text one number, well,
he's got that, but like no like photographic evidence of it.
(25:37):
Is he like Regis? He'd be like Regis voter on
the voting. You could do, you could do all the
data and all that, but no photographic evidence that he
ever existed as a child. That's in the lead, that's
in the leagun significant currently that is going in a
fire a ten thousand dollars? Am I happy with that? No?
I am? I I am. Two days ago we had
(25:59):
a some archery gear and a jersey.
Speaker 7 (26:02):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
Okay, all right, let's go. Let's get But if you
want to question the calls, maybe we should do it.
Speaker 2 (26:06):
Well, we choose today is the thing that we'll get
burnt tomorrow. So this is it we're playing. We're playing
for sheep stations right now, guys.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
So if you're listening, John ten, let's see if Jess
can take it. Jess, what do you want to check
in the fire?
Speaker 3 (26:23):
Hello? So I have my personal transplant diary for my
time that I had in the ICU. It has personal
letters from my mother while I was in my transplant
and updated letters for my family and nurses throughout my recovery.
(26:45):
I had New Zealand and Australia's first heart and liver
transplant performed on someone born with heart disease.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
Cool, All right, that's pretty cool, Jess, Thanks so much. Yesses,
be sure you want to throw them in a fire.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
Jess, I'm ready to let go of that large portion
of my life.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
Quite cathartic yeah, like a fire sera on your Jess.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
Let's go to Mary, Let's go to a song. I
think let's just let that one breathe. That was a
big one.
Speaker 2 (27:18):
That's a big one. I mean, she's Jess. You've got
it in the can. If you offer up your current heart,
had or liver, if you'd.
Speaker 1 (27:24):
Like to do that.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
Do you know what? I actually called you guys, and
I offered my old.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
Whoa wow, Wow, we can't go to that. We can't,
we can't, we can't take that. I was swiped down.
Wow wow is that right? I think I know what
she was about to say, but I won't repeat it.
I can't believe you can keep that.
Speaker 2 (27:42):
That's pretty cool, Okay, all right, well look there you go.
Speaker 1 (27:46):
It is pretty cool. Look on Analysi's face. I didn't
think that was the thing. John he offered his baby album,
no living proof of him. He's a ghost.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
He burn it.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
He is a ghost. Okay, I think test Jess. Sorry,
may have just overtaken Johnny. I don't make any final
decisions yet, but she just offered us before the song.
There some really intimate letters that she was given when
she was going through a serious procedure in hospital. I
kind of don't want to burn that, and that stuff's
important to keep. But let's go to Mary here. Mary,
(28:23):
what do you want to check in the fire tomorrow?
Speaker 4 (28:26):
Well, my old photo album from my past life.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
What do you mean past life? Mary, talk to me
past live.
Speaker 4 (28:33):
That's the life I want to leave behind me.
Speaker 1 (28:37):
So was it like a previous relationship.
Speaker 4 (28:41):
Yeah, through memories of love, lift and survival that forced
me to rebuild everything's comedy act.
Speaker 1 (28:47):
There you go, another photo album. Good on you, Mary.
We've got a lot of photo albums and a lot
of photo albums, Hailey.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
When there's sentiment, when's you start people start going on
a trend and hearing photo albums? Oh you can burn
my photo album for ten thousand dollars, make us feel it?
Speaker 1 (29:05):
Yeah, I think Mary was Mary has been a little
bit too elusive there. She said, you know, if there's
a survival thing going on, there was a past love thing.
I want to hear the facts. It's got a Haley here,
Haley will do it. Halle, what do you want to
check in the fire tomorrow? Sell it to us?
Speaker 4 (29:20):
Well, my husband got caught, he cheated on me, so
let's burn his wedding ring.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
Oh, here we go and here we go. Wow, let's
burn it.
Speaker 3 (29:29):
You'll be doing me a favor.
Speaker 1 (29:30):
How did you so, Haley had so he cheated on you.
I'm sorry to hear that. By the way, how did
you end up with his wedding ring?
Speaker 2 (29:36):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (29:37):
He left it that night on my bench for me,
on the bedside.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
Table, on the night of the weddings. On the night
of the wedding. No, the night he cheated.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
The ninety caught he left, and he left the wedding
ring on bedside table. Oh God, let's burn it. He'll
be doing me a favor.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
Yeah, I love that. Okay, Okay, thank you, Hailey. And
way to sell it, Hailey. That was emotional, hot cell,
and it'll be cathartic for it. She gets ten cared
of it. A ringoes in a fire, okay. So for
mine will for mine. We've got Jess, I've got.
Speaker 2 (30:16):
Got Jess's, We've got Hayley, we've got Mary, and we've
got more photo albums than you can throw a stick out.
Speaker 1 (30:24):
Okay, So I think we let's put the photo albums
to one side. Okay. I think I think the ring
and the the intimate letters from parents loved ones during
a serious procedure. I mean, it doesn't get more sentimental
than that. That is actually something as well. Like photo albums,
Let's be honest, they collect dust in a garage somewhere.
I think the letters that you've exchanged with your parents
(30:47):
when you're going through a serious procedure, I feel like
I would go back to that and read the letters,
you know, like if you were on your death bed
and you had a letter from me, don't you I
write a great letter. I write a great letter. All right? Great?
Do you burn the birthday cards? I send you? Great?
And at least which one do you think should go
(31:07):
for me?
Speaker 9 (31:09):
It's a really tough call because nice, well, the letters
are so the letters are intense. The ring I want
to burn for Hayley because I'm angry for her. And
then the other photo album I'm more so curious about
because why what what photos were in there that.
Speaker 1 (31:26):
She wants to burn. Mary hasn't given as much there,
I know. Should we need to get more from Mary? Okay? Mary, Mary,
we're going to give you a second chance to sell this.
What are your main past life? And what is this?
What is this photo album? Having? At Mary?
Speaker 4 (31:39):
This photo album's got photos of me and a young child.
Speaker 8 (31:44):
Huh.
Speaker 4 (31:45):
I've also got my first boyfriend in there, which she
actually cheated on me. I was engaged in him for
five years as the age sixteen and found out that
his bet my best friend, slept with him and ended
up being pregnant.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
Oh gee Elle Mary.
Speaker 4 (32:05):
And then so there was more photos added to that
album to my the other one, and I had to
survive the messic violence for eight years.
Speaker 1 (32:14):
Really sorry to hear that, very really sorry to hear that. Okay,
we've got a decision to make for mine. Well, if
I can get your attention a second, analysts, well you
can step outside. I think I think the diary you
(32:34):
think from from the ic ICU. All right, I agree
with that. Yes, yes, yes, you've just won yourself ten
thousand dollars. Congratulations as hang on, hang on as long
as you go through with the burning process to my.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
All right, I'm ready to let go.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
It's obvious, it's not. We will obviously let you pull
out as well, Jess, like the these are these are
very intimate letters that you were given during a serious
procedure where you could have died. If you don't want
to throw them in the fire. No shame. We'll keep
the ten k. That is no issue there. We'll figure
out what to do with the but like just think
of just sleep on it, Jess, just sleep bye? I know, Okay,
(33:15):
all good on your jest. Thanks so much. Hopefully we'll
see you tomorrow. I was just wanted to mention the
phone number one hundred respect. Obviously some pretty wild stuff.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
That was getting thrown around before by some people that
had suffered something they certainly don't deserve. So one hundred
respect is the phone number there for people that are
triggered by that. But tomorrow Woods, the HBO original series
House of the Dragon, you and I will be burning
some letters.
Speaker 1 (33:38):
I'm excited flame flamethrower to it. Well, I will see
you there, mate. What time we doing that? Right now?
Speaker 4 (33:53):
Along?
Speaker 1 (33:55):
Okay, call us on thirteen one oh six five and
convince us you are in the car with someone else.
We decide someone actually there or you're putting on a
voice first player? Is Jess that I get a Jess?
Speaker 4 (34:07):
Hi?
Speaker 5 (34:08):
How are you?
Speaker 1 (34:09):
I'm out standing, Jess. Who are you in the car
with my daughter?
Speaker 4 (34:12):
Zara?
Speaker 1 (34:14):
Zara? Okay? How old Zara?
Speaker 8 (34:16):
She's eight?
Speaker 1 (34:17):
A right, Okay. Can we speak to Zara place?
Speaker 4 (34:20):
Yeah, no worries Sarah, money, here's that honey?
Speaker 3 (34:28):
Who's that? It's a Radiozara?
Speaker 1 (34:31):
Just basically hi, oh good I Sarah? Hello?
Speaker 3 (34:39):
Are you.
Speaker 1 (34:41):
Really good? What do you do at school today? Sarah?
Can we just go to Anthony Anthony's sorry, Jess, I
think you're you're alone in the car there, and I'll
tell you what if that is your real daughter? Wepologies,
we're pretty confident. Let's go to Anthony here, Anthony, who
are you in the car with? My?
Speaker 4 (35:01):
Work made?
Speaker 3 (35:02):
Daryl?
Speaker 1 (35:03):
Darryl? All right? Jack, Darryl on?
Speaker 3 (35:08):
Yeah, please please say something day An.
Speaker 1 (35:11):
How's it going Hi Darryl? Yeah? Great? Yeah, good Darryl.
You made that very clear. Darryl. Yea you sound like something?
Oh God? Is that Anthony or Darryl?
Speaker 3 (35:27):
Sorry, he's I've never I've never got this far before. Sorry,
he's not he's not convinced that I'm begating to say something.
He's he thinks I have to try and convince them
that you're not in the car with me.
Speaker 1 (35:38):
What can we do to Darryl again? Yeah, juck, Darryl
and Anthony you're not making any sense.
Speaker 3 (35:43):
Sorry, that's right, Tay, say something.
Speaker 4 (35:45):
Please?
Speaker 1 (35:47):
How's it going there?
Speaker 3 (35:48):
Named Darryl?
Speaker 1 (35:49):
Wait? Wait, named dark A wait from Daryl?
Speaker 2 (35:52):
From oh an only steal the r excent specialist.
Speaker 9 (35:59):
Do I think he's alone?
Speaker 1 (36:00):
Yeah? Oh yeah, exactly. You can you can hear John?
Speaker 2 (36:06):
Sorry, I mean we can continue it to We need
to confirming John's here.
Speaker 5 (36:11):
Johnny, gentlemen, you won't believe me. I almost didn't want
to make the call, but I was driving and I
picked up a hitchhiker. I thought it was a guy
dressed in a Donald Duck outfit by sis, Where do
you he's actually Donald Duck. He's sitting next to me?
You want me to put him on?
Speaker 1 (36:26):
That is John? What are the bluddy chances? We would
love to talk to the hitchhiker and is dressed as
Donald Donald?
Speaker 5 (36:35):
It is Donald? Say something, mate?
Speaker 1 (36:37):
What are you doing here in Australia? Don oliving with
DJ is out next m h if you are still here?
(37:04):
A few of you that I was still here just
started a pretty serious fire between man my wife. That's
about the preparation of a certain grazing platter. I think
we all want to be amazing hosts, right. I think
it's a great little little feather to add to your
cap that you're a great host. But we had a
we had a pretty serious disagreement before people came over
on Sunday who have over the kind a parents not
(37:26):
kinder parents. Is boring, but her very good friend and
her husband. And then actually an Australian. He's in the
strongman contests. He came third in Australian Strongman contests. He
can pick up boulders that are one hundred and seventy killers.
What was he coming over for? He's unbelievable. He's friends
with the other couple. Anyway, they're our friends with us
(37:46):
and they came over boring question.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
It's important because in terms of hosting, like it's good
to know who you're hosting for.
Speaker 1 (37:52):
So two couples. Okay, so mim prepared a great grazing platter.
Now here's my situation. I've obviously pushed back my lunch
because we were going to have a late lunch. So
I'm hungry. I was really it's mid day. This stage's midday.
Fer meals no, no, no, I'm saving myself for lunch. Obviously,
I'm about to cook up an epic barbecue. I want
(38:12):
to save myself for that. But my god, am I hungry.
Our guests were a little bit late. It's another important
little bit of detail there. Now, I see the grazing
platter that's set up on the kitchen table. Looks phenomenal.
I go over there, and I go, well, surely Daddy
can dip in here just a little bit, right, I'll
get a little bit of a snack. I'll try everything
on the grazing platter. Hunky dory. Mim swatted my hand
(38:35):
away as I reached for the grazing platter because she
was like, you cannot touch the grazing platter until the
guests arrive. I think that is the most horrific rule
I have ever heard. That is almost torturous. To leave
a beautiful grazing platter out there on the bench and
not let me even have a little bit of it
is disgusting. Where do you sit on it? I'm passionate
(38:56):
about it, obviously. Yes, I couldn't believe it. First. He
said it would ruin the esthetic of the grazing platter
if I had one carrot stick, And I was like,
let me have one carrot stick and just put it
in the little because she made this dip hummers and
there was musted in there, and there was I was unbelievable.
And I was like, just let me get my little
carrot stick in there, and she was like, it'll ruin
the look of the top of the hummus. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (39:17):
Well, first thing I'd say is you've got a whole
freezer and only you bought a deep sea freezer or
a deep chest freezer, whatever you call it, so you
could fill it with frozen meals that you can eat
in any stage.
Speaker 1 (39:26):
Yes, okay, truth be told. I'm worried about microplastics at
the moment, so I'm off the frozen meals, all right,
So put that away. We're not going into that a
hard person. So now I've got such a hard this
industrial sized chest there in the garage. It's empty, it's
got frozen bananas in it. Throw them out? No, there's
(39:50):
no Well, yes, you bore like thousands of dollars. You did.
You've got a bootique company to make them for you, bespoke.
I didn't say throw them out and said I gave
him to Dad, gave him. How do I feel that,
because come on, mate, let's be like you. You do
(40:11):
a grazing platter. Yeah, would you dip into it before
the guests arrive or do you feel do you have
to present an untouched grazing platter to your guests?
Speaker 2 (40:20):
Okay, in all honesty, I actually think a key to
good hosting people is to present as if you're not hosting,
as in, you haven't put a lot of effort into
hosting even though you are. Because people don't like feeling
like that the host is on ten to hooks around them.
So like, I, so that's so, yeah, So I will
so I will go like, I will constantly try and
(40:41):
be like, I'm relaxed about having you guys over because
I want them to feel relaxed.
Speaker 1 (40:45):
Is that why when we've got an early interview and
record at your house, you're always in the shower late
and you relaxed. But you know what, we're late for
Olivia Rodrigo. But Will's in the shower, he's having a relaxed.
Speaker 2 (41:01):
So so that's what I would say. So I wouldn't
want to do that once I once I put the
food down, it's free game. Once the one the andres
hit the shopping board, I from put them on a
big timber board. As soon as they hit there. It's
fair game as far as I'm concerned. It's meant to
be more approachable once it's been nibbled on you, That's
what I think, because then people don't want to start.
Speaker 9 (41:21):
It's as the woman on the team and the voice
of the ladies right now, that is both wrong answers.
You don't start the plutter until everyone has gotten there.
Speaker 1 (41:31):
Until everyone's there, will okay?
Speaker 9 (41:34):
Start time of event two pm. Plutter comes out one
fifty eight, and you're not touching it until two Why?
And you're not bringing the plotter out if people aren't there.
You're not bringing the plutter out until maybe at least
two thirds of the people have arrived.
Speaker 2 (41:48):
That's really rich coming from a girl who if you
buy anything from the shop to share with the team,
she's opened it before anyone else going to do it.
Speaker 1 (41:55):
Oh wow, that's my plutter.
