    Speaker 6 (00:56):
What does that? What does that make you think of
that song? But what's the first thing pops in your
head when you hear that song?

    Speaker 3 (01:03):
    Christmas? Yeah?

    Speaker 2 (01:06):
Anything more specific for you will?

    Speaker 6 (01:08):
What do you mean there's something that's popped into my
head which is going to seguay beautifully into what we
want to do in this podcast.

    Speaker 2 (01:14):
What are you thinking of when you hear this song?

    Speaker 5 (01:16):
    Obviously love?

    Speaker 2 (01:16):
Actually right, I'm the same. Must be the girl with
the tea cozy on her head. She wore a tea cozy.

    Speaker 5 (01:22):
Have you ever seen that? Actually?

    Speaker 3 (01:23):
No? Yeah, controversial? I think I don't think I've seen it.

    Speaker 2 (01:27):
    Are you kidding?

    Speaker 3 (01:27):
    Yeah?

    Speaker 1 (01:28):
    Yeah?

    Speaker 5 (01:29):
No, no, no, I know like serious?

    Speaker 4 (01:31):
    Really yeah?

    Speaker 3 (01:31):
    Yeah?

    Speaker 2 (01:33):
You said you were coming in here.

    Speaker 6 (01:36):
You said you were coming in here to talk about
your favorite Christmas movies. How could you possibly speak with
any authority. You haven't seen Love?

    Speaker 2 (01:42):
Actually, why haven't you seen that?

    Speaker 3 (01:45):
    I just haven't.

    Speaker 5 (01:47):
You haven't seen a lot of things though, you haven't
    seen much at all.

    Speaker 3 (01:49):
No, I definitely, Well I've seen I've seen all the
    Hunger Games.

    Speaker 2 (01:55):
    I'm actually watching Catching Fires.

    Speaker 3 (01:57):
    Yes, it is.

    Speaker 2 (01:58):
It's better than you think it's.

    Speaker 5 (02:00):
    It's very good.

    Speaker 2 (02:01):
    It's really it's very sick.

    Speaker 5 (02:03):
Is it my favorite movie of all time? No, it's
your favorite movie of all time?

    Speaker 3 (02:08):
Hunger Games, Catch and Fight. Yeah, that's where we landed.

    Speaker 2 (02:13):
What's what's the last movie you watched? Sorry, before we
get into this, you just want to tell everyone what's
    happening here.

    Speaker 6 (02:18):
    Yeah.

    Speaker 5 (02:18):
So, No, we were planning on doing a movie podcast
all year. We've been referencing the movie podcast, so we
thought we'd finally get down to it. But you know,
naturally it should be Christmas themed given where we're at
at this time of the year. I love it. Share
the Joy with Meyer. Brought to you by Maya. So yeah,
an alas, you're in here to talk about Christmas movies.

    Speaker 3 (02:38):
Yes, and and unfortunately Love actually hasn't made the list.

    Speaker 5 (02:45):
It was so close to saying it also wouldn't make
    the list.

    Speaker 2 (02:48):
But I love the island. Of course it wouldn't make
the listens on a Christmas movie.

    Speaker 3 (02:51):
It could be a themed theme version.

    Speaker 2 (02:54):
There has to be an asterix on this list though,
    because you haven't seen Love.

    Speaker 3 (02:56):
Actually, no, I can go home and watch it tonight.

    Speaker 5 (02:59):
You just watch it like just you know, for all
the things we do for you.

    Speaker 3 (03:02):
Yeah, I'd happily watch it. I'm keen. I want to
    see Hugh Grant.

    Speaker 2 (03:05):
    Yeah, he's great.

    Speaker 3 (03:06):
I've heard really good things. I may have potentially seen
it and it just didnt impact me a lot.

    Speaker 5 (03:10):
    Another actor.

    Speaker 3 (03:14):
    I know it's very popular, and I don't. I couldn't
say off the top of my head. I do have
Google he I'll just have a quick squizz.

    Speaker 2 (03:20):
It's a very famous female actress. Who's in it?

    Speaker 3 (03:23):
Here a Nightley No night Bill Knightley Bill Bill Ni
    Bill Nye.

    Speaker 2 (03:35):
    Alan Rickman, Alan Rickman isman.

    Speaker 3 (03:39):
Is but I feel like if I saw him, like anyway.

    Speaker 5 (03:46):
Let's get down to your do you know what that is? Ellen?

    Speaker 3 (03:49):
    Alan? It's a seagull, isn't it?

    Speaker 5 (03:54):
That is? Once you don't know what that is?

    Speaker 3 (03:56):
No, Alan, Steve, you you've never thought they were seagulls.
And I thought it was like a video of seagulls.

    Speaker 2 (04:04):
They can think of finding Nemo.

    Speaker 6 (04:07):
And there are some birds that make a weird noise,
    but they're not yelling out.

    Speaker 5 (04:09):
All mine anyway. You don't know what Allen, Allen Steve,
    do you?

    Speaker 3 (04:16):
Maybe if I saw it again, I'll show it to
you after this podcast you Love it would be a
favorite movie after we show you. Who knows lots of
    lots of room there.

    Speaker 5 (04:26):
One of my favorite Christians movies always Love Actually, I
mean I hate Christmas movies in general. Love Actually for
me stands outside of the Christmas category because it has
its own plot, which is sufficient. Christmas is an incident
that occurs in Love Actually, as opposed to the driving
force behind the narrative. It's something that comes up, and
    that's what's good about it.

    Speaker 3 (04:46):
That's like die Hard, right, die.

    Speaker 5 (04:48):
Hard, very good. Have you seen Diehard?

    Speaker 3 (04:52):
    I haven't seen it.

    Speaker 5 (04:52):
But that also has Allen Rickman in it. He plays
a German villain Adam. He's back at it all. Yeah,
he is a fun fun fact about that movie. Actually,
    he he he's I see. I can't believe we're back here.
I said this about Prince of Thieves with Kevin Costner

    (05:16):
he stole the show with Prince of Thieves with Kevin
Costner right Alan Rickman, and they were going to edit
the movie. Sorry, they had to edit the movie because
they needed to make Kevin Costner the start. The same
thing happened with him in die Hard. But Bruce Willis said,
keep all of the Rickman gear because he's amazing.

    Speaker 2 (05:31):
Because he stills the show the difference. But yeah, I
    would say Willis is.

    Speaker 5 (05:36):
A whole lot of hair first, a whole lot of hair. Yeah,
and yeah, Willis puts the movie.

    Speaker 3 (05:41):
First and then so nice, and that's why die Hard
    was so successful.

    Speaker 6 (05:46):
Yeah, and maybe that's why the what is it the
    Den of Thieves?

    Speaker 5 (05:51):
    Maybe was Thieves?

    Speaker 3 (05:52):
Yes, that's yeah, heard of it, but I've heard of
    die Hard.

    Speaker 5 (05:56):
So we spoke about Prince of Thieves for at least
fifteen minutes on one of the podcasts recently, Really carry On.

    Speaker 3 (06:01):
I really enjoyed it. Okay, So the holiday, yes, sorry,
    number one three? Number three?

    Speaker 5 (06:11):
So number three is the holiday?

    Speaker 3 (06:12):
Jude, look, Jude, as I loved Caperon Diaz, so I
really like their storyline. That kind of zoned down on
    me on the storyline.

    Speaker 2 (06:26):
But when did you watch it?

    Speaker 5 (06:28):
    Jack?

    Speaker 2 (06:28):
Black and Kate winslew they were Okay.

    Speaker 5 (06:30):
Kate Winslet still is the show in that movie?

    Speaker 3 (06:32):
Well, no, because my favorite was Jude Law. I was like,
that's when I've discovered him. I was like, whoa, yeah,
So I'll watch that every now and again. I think
I've seen it maybe three times now.

    Speaker 2 (06:46):
When he's the napkin Man, is that I mean? That
for me? Is peak to the law. You remember that
scene is with his child and he becomes the napkin.

    Speaker 5 (06:53):
I told you I hate Christmas movies. I appreciated it.
    I did like it.

    Speaker 2 (06:59):
    I have to be.

    Speaker 5 (07:00):
I think the fa you've got it the napkin Man
means I won't watch it again. That's what people love it. Though.

    Speaker 2 (07:06):
I love the holiday. It's just what a concept. It's
    what a concept.

    Speaker 3 (07:09):
    It's good feeling, it's good vibes, it's it's you. I've
seen it about maybe three times, lightly watching because I
    have a lightly watching me.

    Speaker 5 (07:19):
How is it your third favorite Christmas movie if you've
only ever half watched it? You've only ever seen three
    Christmas movies?

    Speaker 3 (07:25):
No, well, I've seen I've definitely seen five. But so
    my number one Christmas?

    Speaker 5 (07:31):
What do we bring in this movies.

    Speaker 3 (07:34):
Here's the thing. Some diversity here and bring in a few.
But my favorite Christmas movie movie, which you'll find out
in a moment, is part of the trilogy.

    Speaker 4 (07:46):
It's fucking Hunger Games trilogy, Trilogy of Christmas trilogy.

    Speaker 5 (07:51):
And so I will it's a trilogy, and I will
    watch it.

    Speaker 3 (07:54):
Every single year without a doubt. And and these ones
    are like.

    Speaker 2 (07:59):
It's look at your face, non Tim Allen.

    Speaker 6 (08:07):
Where he just starts growing a body.

    Speaker 4 (08:16):
Okay, away was a way bit of christmasood you like
    jingle all the ways?

    Speaker 2 (08:23):
    You haven't seen that?

    Speaker 5 (08:24):
    Have you seen Home Alone?

    Speaker 3 (08:25):
    I've seen Home Alone?

    Speaker 5 (08:26):
    Have you? Yeah?

    Speaker 3 (08:27):
Yeah? Yeah, with the little kid who gets stuck at
    home and all their family.

    Speaker 5 (08:30):
    Who's the little kid?

    Speaker 3 (08:31):
    I know his name?

    Speaker 5 (08:32):
Kevin Kevin, Yes, that's his name in the movie.

    Speaker 3 (08:36):
I know his name. It's McCay, paula, Paul McCartney. No,
not Paul McCartney. He's in the Beatles. Paul McCauley.

    Speaker 5 (08:46):
    Yeah, McCauley, someone macauley.

    Speaker 3 (08:49):
What falcon? No, No his name? Let me google him?

    Speaker 6 (08:55):
    No, don't googlecauley, McAuley.

    Speaker 3 (09:00):
McCaulay, McCaulay, McCaulay, McCauley, maybe his first name is McCauley.

    Speaker 2 (09:06):
No, here we go, it's McCaulay.

    Speaker 3 (09:12):
    It starts with a P.

    Speaker 2 (09:13):
    I feel Peter McCauley.

    Speaker 3 (09:15):
    Kevin, Kevin Ken.

    Speaker 5 (09:19):
That's a famous line from the movie Kevin. No, don't
look where near You just looked it up. I just
    ship looking at it.

    Speaker 3 (09:28):
Yeah, I'm half don't look my movie.

    Speaker 5 (09:30):
    Is Surely that's his name.

    Speaker 2 (09:36):
Just lock in, just lock in, surely McCay.

    Speaker 3 (09:39):
    It's not Surely McCauley. I don't know. I don't know
    when I see it.

    Speaker 5 (09:45):
Come on, mate, come on, it's definitely McCaulay.

    Speaker 2 (09:48):
Three options. We'll give you four options, Okay, Paul McCaulay.
Isn't Steve McCauley. Is it Ted McCaulay, Or is it
    Tom McCauley.

    Speaker 3 (09:58):
It's none of them. It's none of them?

    Speaker 5 (10:00):
    Sure about that?

    Speaker 3 (10:00):
    All right?

    Speaker 5 (10:01):
I'll give you the real options.

    Speaker 2 (10:02):
    Okay, Pa mcculey.

    Speaker 3 (10:07):
You're not going to give me the real options. I
can see by the way you're smiling right now. Giving
Holy oh, yep, coopy him. What else could it be? Oh?
    What about Lily? Lily?

    Speaker 5 (10:24):
Surely Holy, it's not them, it's it actually is hoy,
what about McCaulay. He goes fishing every now and then
they're like, what holy McCauley when he brings in a
    big one?

    Speaker 3 (10:36):
    What about?

    Speaker 5 (10:37):
    What about?

    Speaker 6 (10:37):
    What about?

    Speaker 5 (10:38):
    What about? Googling?

    Speaker 2 (10:40):
    Googling? What about?

    Speaker 5 (10:41):
I don't know who it is McCauley, O, let me
help you. Let McCauley is his first name.

    Speaker 3 (10:46):
I know who his brother is.

    Speaker 2 (10:48):
McCauley's his first Cochlan, so it's.

    Speaker 3 (10:52):
    Macaulay, Conchlanca.

    Speaker 2 (10:55):
    Cochlin's going wrap.

    Speaker 5 (10:58):
I don't even know if anything.

    Speaker 2 (11:03):
Number two is your number two?

    Speaker 3 (11:07):
Number two is? Why him? What is that? It's a
movie with Let me just get a James Frank, James Franco,
Brian Cranston's We do Dutch, James Franke, Michael but Kei
and Michael Key. We can talk about him.

    Speaker 2 (11:21):
He is Michael Okay, okay, that is That's a shocking movie.

    Speaker 3 (11:25):
Christmas It's similar to die Hard. Christmas is just a
    facet of it.

    Speaker 2 (11:30):
It's yeah, it's just that Christmas time, but it's not
about Christmas time at all. It's that family at the
end of the day. It's a shocking movie.

    Speaker 6 (11:37):
    Though.

    Speaker 2 (11:37):
What's Number one? Kegan is very good?

    Speaker 3 (11:41):
Number one, Number one with two honorable mentions. Number one
the Santa Claus three starring Tim Allen. Number three, number
three is your favorite. Number three is my favorites. When
Jack Frost comes into the picture and Jack Frost tries
to become Santa Claus. And it's amazing because you've got
like Mother Nature and like all the other people are here,

    (12:03):
like the sleep one, the person who puts you to
sleep with, the Sandman, Sandman exactly, the two fairies there,
they all come in and they're all working with Santa
aka Allen. Number two, number and then so that's that's
    number one.

    Speaker 5 (12:16):
Number. That was your number one. Sorry, I thought we
were working our way out. You've got your favorite Christmas
movie of all time is Santa Claus three.

    Speaker 2 (12:22):
Yes, I thought that was an honorable mention.

    Speaker 3 (12:24):
Honorable mentions go to Santa Claus two, then to Santa
Claus because I watched them religiously every they're the best
    Christmas movies. Mate, it's amazing.

    Speaker 5 (12:33):
Start them going to say it again, quite sincerely, get out, No,
    someone looks up.

    Speaker 6 (12:40):
Can someone look at what the Santa Claus three has
a rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I know that's something indicator,
but it's got to be twenty seven. Yeah, what what's
    the Santa Clause three?

    Speaker 3 (12:52):
    Seventeen?

    Speaker 5 (12:55):
    My number two?

    Speaker 2 (12:57):
Can you give me number two?

    Speaker 5 (12:59):
    Solar?

    Speaker 3 (13:00):
It doesn't deserve it. It's a bit of a jump.

    Speaker 5 (13:06):
    Santa Claus two.

    Speaker 2 (13:07):
And I'd say the Santa Claus one would sit in
the sixties because I actually remember it being the Santa
    Claus seventy three percent.

    Speaker 3 (13:16):
    Wow.

    Speaker 6 (13:17):
Actually I was being harsh on it before that. The
concept of the Santa Claus really you haven't seen it.
The idea is that Tim Allen's up there hanging his decorations.
    He accidentally kills Santa.

    Speaker 3 (13:28):
    Santa dies and.

    Speaker 6 (13:30):
This is in the first five minutes, and the concept
is that if you kill Santa, you become Santa. And
then slowly, like he starts putting on way growing the beer.
It Actually it's a brilliant movie, but they shouldn't have
    made it to Max.

    Speaker 3 (13:41):
And Gramy are going to love it, and they definitely
should have because then in the second one, the Santa
Claus has to find Missus Clause amazing and if he
doesn't fine Missus Claws, he doesn't become Santa anymore. Then
Santa just doesn't exist, right, And then the third one. Obviously,
like I said, Jack Frost showing up comes, I mean.

    Speaker 5 (14:01):
    Say less the TV show.

    Speaker 3 (14:03):
No, no, Tim Allen. Tim Allen curries, you're not going
to go look at the Santa Claus without Tim Allen.

    Speaker 2 (14:08):
I think he's in the TV show.

    Speaker 3 (14:10):
    Well, I haven't seen it.

    Speaker 5 (14:11):
I'm just going to read out a couple of I
think this is this is a favorite pastime of mind.
Let's let's go to Santa Claus three, shall we? And
just to kick off finish Analysa's time in here some reviews.
I'm going to get off the rotten Tomato reviews from
    the top critics.

    Speaker 3 (14:25):
It's just and I'm here to defend you, Tim Allen.

    Speaker 5 (14:28):
It's scorched by some of the best I reckon critics reviews.

    Speaker 2 (14:31):
Here we go, try and rebut these comments.

    Speaker 5 (14:33):
Here we go. You look at a movie like this
and you wonder how some screenwriters can have the temerity
    to go on strike.

    Speaker 3 (14:42):
I thought it was very creative.

    Speaker 5 (14:45):
Special effects are in abundance, but none of them are
very well produced, much like the film on the whole.
It's sad to see the life sucked out of a
    series that started so well.

    Speaker 2 (14:54):
    Oh this is great.

    Speaker 5 (14:57):
Frost turns the occasion into a swag saturated humour orgy,
which the film condemns, even as it hams up product
placement for Red Bull whoa wow, wow Wow. Sandra's traditional
cry of ho ho ho has never sounded more like
three stab wounds of pain and horror.

    Speaker 3 (15:20):
Guys, don't like this, deter you? Really good film watched
    order watch it in order.

    Speaker 2 (15:29):
I remember the first one. I remember the first one.

    Speaker 3 (15:31):
And then watched the second one. Watch the third. The
    third is probably the best.

    Speaker 2 (15:35):
You keep saying that. You keep saying that it might
    be my favorite review.

    Speaker 5 (15:38):
To finish yourself as well. Badly written, shockingly acted, an
appallingly directed threequel that will please precisely no one but me.

    Speaker 3 (15:49):
    Plice.

    Speaker 2 (15:53):
Okay, So I think the take home from this is
    go and watch the.

    Speaker 3 (15:57):
Topy List one night to your So you're watching what
the twenty second, you're watching the original the Santa Claus
twenty third, you're watching the Santa Claus two, and on
Christmas Eve, polish it off with Santa Claus three. I
