Speaker 1 (00:50):
A couple of big updates before we get to the
NFL trade that Davata will wind up being more powerful
than you can ever imagine. Murdered Mike Common was seduced
and murdered, but already with a four homer game at
Dodger Stadium. Once with the Diamondbacks, JD. Martinez has two
(01:14):
home runs through three innings off Tyler McGill. Dodgers lead
the Mets three nothing. Martinez a two run homer in
the first, a solo blast and the third, and the
Mets have more errors than hits right now. So really
not going the Mets way.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
But that's okay.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
It's early, it's a long night, and you're still licking
your wounds over the Knicks defeat. So yeah, you're just
keep telling yourself there's a lot of baseball left.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
There's a lot of baseball. There's a lot of it.
Beats for JD.
Speaker 5 (01:41):
Martinez, Jason, there's a big silver lining for you. What's
that Buddy four is on the mount for the Dodgers tomorrow?
Speaker 4 (01:48):
Yea?
Speaker 1 (01:49):
Or is something gonna happen? He's well, oh, I'm not
going to pitch against the Mets. I really wonder, I
really wonder.
Speaker 4 (01:54):
Yeah, but if he comes down him mows you down,
my throat will be he's sore from me.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Come on, man, he throws seventy two miles an hour.
You haven't seen a guy practice piccher.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
You have not seen someone at seventy That could be problematic.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Uh So that's what's happening right now in baseball in
the NBA. Hey, kind of, like we have said, it's
not like the Sons are gonna need Kevin Durant to
do it for them all the time. But hey, every
two to three nights, Hey, we need you to be
the guy. You are right, Some nights you can be
the support player for Paul and Booker, but some nights
we need you to be that guy. And in the
second quarter for the Phoenix Suns right now, he has
(02:37):
been that guy. Sixteen points, five boards, three assists as
the Suns have drawn to within fifty nine fifty six
of the Clippers right before halftime. Was a good first
quarter for the Clippers. Their bench had a lot of energy.
They were outscoring the Suns. It the Sun's body language
was not great, but Katie catches fire a little bit.
And now it's gonna wind up being a one possession
(02:59):
game going into halftime. And I feel good about the
Suns going into the second half here in an absolute
must win game. If they don't have this, you're going
on the road down to Zip. You're already sitting here
where we had two games at home and it hasn't
worked yet.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
That's gonna be it for the Suns.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
Yeah, but if the Clippers are able to take this
game down, it becomes the legend of Westbrook seventeen points,
six of nine from the field, two of three from
the three point arc. I mean, that's one of those
go by your lottery tickets kind of kind of nights
from the field for.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
Maybe it was the Lakers fault.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Maybe you know, hey, look we always had to say
last year, maybe it was Joe Girardi's fault because the
Phillies went to the World.
Speaker 6 (03:35):
No.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
True, Maybe it was a Lakers' fault with Russell Westbrook.
Maybe it was a Lakers fault.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
What was I watching earlier in the the Champions League,
Fire your manager, and the trend was for the squad
that you know, when they fired him, they went on
to win the title, So it maybe maybe there's something
to do that. In this case, it was get out of
town and it was all about the Lakers. Maybe you
blame Lebron Man. It could have been Lebron's but it
(04:00):
could have been anything. And it didn't work for a
year and a half.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
And now here the Clippers like, hey we're playing good
with Westbrook Man. Westbrook's been a guy. We put him
in the starting lineup. It didn't work. We didn't win
a game for like the first month and a half.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
But then it started to click a little bit with
Westbrook and he's had big games his leg. You know,
he's he's had twenty points in three of his last
four games. He has had a pretty good little bit
last run here. Once he got used to well, once
he got used to things with the Clippers, so you
give him a couple of weeks. Once you hit the
middle to late March, he started to play pretty well
(04:35):
and it went under the radar because at that point,
what was the drama? It was, well, are the Clippers
gonna wind up making it to the where are they
gonna finish right?
Speaker 3 (04:42):
Are they gonna get passed for the playing round?
Speaker 1 (04:44):
Are they going to be in the top six? And
the drama wasn't really quite there for them, So he kind.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
Of fell off.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
But he had big you know, he had a thirty
six point game against Memphis. Yet he's had some big games.
He's been a twenty point a game scorer since the
beginning of the month, and he's really because not quite
the player he was like three years ago, but he's
become a pretty close facsimile to it now and it's
it's really maybe it was the Lakers fault.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
Maybe it was. I'm just saying, maybe it will.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
Get out there and play. The expectations aren't that you
were gonna come in and take things over. A lot
more attention spent on will Kawhi Leonard play yes, and
he's playing playoff Kawhi Leonard basketball, and whether Paul George
will be available still in street clothes. So what do
you do? You get loose and you go play as
part of a deep roster, and the expectations outside of
(05:33):
that guy in the suite during halftime, everybody else is
just manning to them, like you know, if you're on
the plus side of things with him, then you've won
because the investment was minimal.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
So we'll keep an eye of this game. Again.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
We're going a halftime right now. It is tied at
fifty nine, fifty nine, so look, a great second half
come in your way. How about how about listen the
Knicks they were off tonight, they didn't play.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
I don't know if you saw that they were off.
That cancel the game can't win one oh seven to
ninety one. They can't.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
It's one. It's one one, it's one one. Going back
to MSG, We're fine, Everything is.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
Fine, psychologically.
Speaker 4 (06:15):
This is crushing for the fans, for the players in
that locker room, for Tom Thibodeau, because he did everything.
He pulled the last of the hairs off his head.
He had his starters in there to try to teach
him a lesson. I'm meaningful basketball down the stretch.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
One game.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
Got miz taunting all of you Knicks fans.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
This is like but this is like the opposite. Like
two years ago the Knicks and the playoffs, they won
one game and ah, look we're back, and the Hawks
were like, yeah, we're gonna win this series. Now it's
like the opposite the knickser hey, right now the Cats
are like, yeah you thought we staking? You are you
think the Knicks are gonna win? Hes Donevan mitchellin Garlt
had a big game, but it's like the roles are reversed.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
Though I expect it's gonna be three one Knicks when
they get done to the MSG. It's gonna be fine.
Everything is fine. I'm sorry, Frostburg.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
We don't get the advantageous NBA scheduling where the NBA says, hey,
the Lakers, you know they're older, they need some more
days off to recover.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
So let's play.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
Let's have them every other Let's let's have him play
every eight days. Let's happen once a week. They'll play
on Saturday, and then they can play the following Sundays.
That way, Lebron and a d are all really rested.
Speaker 5 (07:20):
We'll play any time anywhere any opponent were.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
Especially with days off, you can go into your hyperbaric
chamber and get ready for the next game, because there's
a game three like on Saturday.
Speaker 5 (07:32):
Right, Yeah, you go to come out Wednesday night Tomorrow
night looking like browny.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
Yeah. Why is his hairline so low?
Speaker 4 (07:39):
Again?
Speaker 3 (07:40):
Yeah? Good luck with that?
Speaker 1 (07:41):
Good luck, good luck because because of advancements in all
kinds of things medically, I've.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
Worked on that.
Speaker 4 (07:46):
I'm trying to get a sponsor for that. I need
my hairline bag.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
I've a I've already said, medicine will save you. Just
hang on, medicine will save you. It's coming.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
Oh I'm not worried like at this point, it's the
hair man. It's coming. Yeah, medicine. I always still a day.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
I still have people guess my age at like thirty five,
I'm pretty pretty or thirty seven, so I'm pretty shut.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
Up really say thirty. They say thirty seven. They not
forty seven, they say, they say thirty seven. They take
a full decade us off of my head, they say
thirty seven. Really, I've heard some ladies call him the Hoff.
Speaker 4 (08:23):
I have been known to lay down on a floor
while eating a cheeseburger. That is true.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
Uh, we have more. Look, we'll have more NBA on
the way.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
But a big trade looks like it's about to go
down in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
You probably saw this earlier today. Tell Alan Robinson, Uh.
Speaker 4 (08:42):
The services are no longer required.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
The Rams are gonna trade Alan Robinson to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
Uh. They signed it, and they had signed Robinson a year.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
Ago, but things didn't go incredibly well for for Alan Robinson.
So now the high profile players that the Rams want
to move on from. He is the latest guy that
the Rams are saying, Okay, the money we.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Owed you, yeah, a little bit too rich for our blood.
We're gonna get a seventh round pick and we're gonna
switch seventh round and basically you're just taking the salary away.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
Now here's the thing for this trade for the Steelers.
It's just kind of men. Steelers fans are still gonna
hate me. You know, it's not a great You really
think Alan Robinson's gonna thrive as the number three wide
receiver in Pittsburgh. Really, the guy's been a jag the
last couple of years and he's not gonna get paid again.
He's just he's just a guy. At this point, you.
Speaker 4 (09:33):
Got to Tomlin, because remember when he was with the Bears.
I said it, very frankly, I thought he'd quit. I
mean when things got tough down the end, he had
some health issues, wasn't seeing the ball, and towards the
end of the season it looked like he went into
Derek Bell operation shutdown.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
And if you do a quick search.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
On that, there are plenty, plenty of folks that echoed
those sentiments that I had here on Fox Sports Radio
as we were doing our fantasy segments and everything else.
Uh and evaluation obviously mocking me for the ineptitude of
the Chicago Bears. Uh So, yeah, going go into Pittsburgh,
Mike Tomlin, all about the execution of you know, excellence
(10:14):
of execution, and you're gonna you're gonna go there. Yeah,
I don't. I don't think that works.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
It's it's it's it's one of those moves that sounds
great where oh, hey, if Alan Robinson is our third
best wide receiver.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
It's uh yeah, but what do you think you're really
gonna get out of him.
Speaker 4 (10:34):
Minute before sending him to Chicago.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
Yeah, it's it's very like. It's it's not it's not
anything that's gonna move the needle. It's not gonna make
Kenny Pickett any better. It's it's not gonna happen.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
Well, you hate Kenny Pickett anyway.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
I'm realistic about Kenny Pickett. I am realistic that Kenny
Pickett is not good. I'm sorry, but Steelers fans that
want to go crazy and go but he was because
he stopped throwing an interception every week the last five weeks.
Speaker 3 (10:59):
Yeah, but he didn't score points. He was bad.
Speaker 4 (11:02):
Hey, hey, the long road begins with the first step
and not turning the ball over with a big step.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
Damnit. Now you can build on that in the offseason,
don't you know.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
I'll tell it's it's very much. Look, it's very much
and at just a met kind of move. But the
big thing is now watch the Rams because the Rams know, hey,
all right, we had to get rid of some of
our high profile players that were just not working. But
they've been able to turn through those guys over the
(11:33):
course of the past couple of years. Right, whether it's
Michael Brockers or Bobby Wagner, Alan Robinson, Brandon Cooks, right,
Jared Goff, Robert Woods, they've been able to bring in
talent and move around and make magic with the money.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
Right.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
Yes, yeah, you see the dead Cat money. Yeah they
got dead Cat. They have all this, but now the
guys had to rid of. Jalen Ramsey was on top
of that list. Alan Robinson was top of that list.
The Rams are planning something incredibly huge. The Rams are
not doing this to have this way. They don't want
to have a well, we're gonna just suck this year, right.
They have said, you know what, for every year the
(12:09):
last five years, we've been able to sign guys to
all kinds of contracts that look like it's gonna bind
us up for the next few years. We get out
of it and we wind up continuing to compete. Last
year was really bad, and you all right, we gotta
pay a little bit. But the Rams are setting up
something big. I guarantee it. They're not just doing this Okay,
we gotta do this, We gotta do this, got to this,
(12:30):
we're trying to give up. No, just get out. We'll
pay some money here, You pay him that money. The
Rams are gonna are setting up something big, and it
could happen around the draft, it could happen after the draft.
But watch they are setting up something big because they
know the run with this team is over. This this
Stafford type run. And there's a lot of things the
Rams can do, whether it's money with Stafford or somewhere
(12:51):
else or somebody else. Trust me, the Rams are setting
up something big. They're not gonna go into this year
and Sean mcvagh didn't come back to go just have
a ye where they're gonna tank and then try to
compete again a year from now. Sean McVay would not
come back for that. So trust me, the Rams have
something where there and there's plenty of time for them
to do it. Here's we're getting rid of some guys,
(13:12):
we're shedding some salary or doing some stuff. They got
something big coming. Trust me, this is not just an
exercise to Hey, we're gonna get rid of our guys.
That's not how the Rams do it well.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
Aaron Rodgers still a packer. Lamar Jackson is out there.
We know Stefan if you're gonna go Stafford. Stefon Diggs
has chirped a little bit. There's been a lot of
rumors about a number of top level wide receivers. But
I keep looking back at the Matthew Stafford side of
things and wonder if where he is physically as much
(13:42):
as he can yell I'm back like he's a member
of the Lakers. I don't know that necessarily that that's
the case.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
Twitter and how about a Fresca.
Speaker 1 (13:50):

(14:54):
we gonna have another home run for JD Martinez? Another
home run? Oh, we have big news your way. Guys
coming off the injured list. Guys could be going on
the injured list. Keep it right here. This is Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (15:20):
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
The Jason Smith Show with My best Friend Mike Harmon
underway in the third quarter in Phoenix, Suns get the
first bucket Devin Booker.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
They now lead the Clippers.
Speaker 1 (15:32):
They take the lead for the first time since early
on in this one sixty one fifty nine in a
game the Suns absolutely have to have Clippers trying to
really go back home with some kind of hammer throwing down.
We'll keep you updated on this throughout the night, but
it is a big night in Major League Baseball right now.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
Hey, hey, JD.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
Martinez could be on his way to a four home
run game for the Dodgers. He's been up twice, He's
at two home runs, and I believe he is due
up in the bottom of the fifth inning for LA. Meanwhile,
speaking of guys, it hit home runs in the Greater
Los Angeles area.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
A big night for show. Hey Otani. He goes one
for three with a home run, couple of RBI, couple
of runs scored, big showcase game Otani in the Bronx
and the Angels win it over the Yankees five to
how much.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
No, no, no, my dad doesn't hate him because he's
He's of the philosophy that he thinks we can somebody
else making decisions. We can trade for Otani at the
dead like that's my dad, Like he thinks that's gonna happen.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
Yeah, we'll trade for him, we'll trade from Okay.
Speaker 4 (16:35):
Well, of course he wants to think about the Yankees
as the Yankees of old when they.
Speaker 3 (16:41):
Score like that.
Speaker 1 (16:43):
But look, there's the thing is and this is why.
This is not because the Mets are losing tonight. This
is not because it's a battle, but it will be
a battle between the Mets and the Dodgers for Otani.
Speaker 3 (16:52):
And I'm i'm i'm I hate to say.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
I'm rooting against the Angels, but I want the Angels
to fall out of contention so they will fat, yes,
this is possibly get trade Otani because the Mets will
be the team that swoops in and the Angels will say, okay,
we're okay trading you to the Mets a because Otani
will say yes because he knows that Steve Cohen's gonna
(17:15):
give him whatever he wants. You want five hundred million dollars,
show hey, you got it. But if they trade him
to the Dodgers, how do you live with that?
Speaker 3 (17:23):
Right?
Speaker 1 (17:23):
How do you live with trading Otani to the Dodgers
in the same market, even though the Dodgers would probably
go crazy for him. Give you a bunch of prospects,
whatever you want. How do you do that? How do
you trade Otani to the Yankees when when you're gonna
make the Evil Empire even better? Can you still do
that not have everybody in Major League Baseball just hate you?
So the two big destinations are gonna be really difficult
(17:44):
to overcome, especially when we can trade him to a
safe team, because the Mets are safe because they're in
the National League and they're gonna be a team that pays,
and they're probably gonna get him anyway in the offseason.
So yeah, the Mets have a huge advantage over getting
him because nobody else is gonna trade for him, saying
we're gonna go get him in the offseason.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
Because he's gonna be worth too much money.
Speaker 1 (18:03):
Steve Cohen just says, I don't give a crap because
all the other baseball owners are still operating with the
philosophy of, well, we don't want to really go over
three hundred million for a payroll.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
We're all kind of in this together.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
I'll go, hey, Blank, you and your collusion light philosophies.
I want to go get a guy I'll go get
a guy. So yeah, Otani to the Mets.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
One hundred percent. I was rooting for the Yankees in
this game. I wanted the Yankees to win. So the
Angels keep losing, it's it's tough. It's tough, but you
know that's what I want.
Speaker 4 (18:30):
Well, in that division, it's a mess. I mean because
they're only two games back at Texas, so it's not
like they're gonna fall out of contention in division anytime soon.
Then it's just the greater picture where maybe you do
a Mark Cuban, it's like, ah, you know, we can
still make the playoffs and the wildcard, but the hell
with it, we're gonna tank and get out of this.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (18:49):
I don't think there's any shame if he just wanted
to come up the freeway and go to Dodger Stadium, because,
as we often like to say, they can just go
and grab one of the pain out of the collection,
you know, because your master works and whatever else.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
He was traded for a painting.
Speaker 1 (19:06):
They actually trade him for the painting, and it show
doing his press conference and they're in the painting out
and they put a microphone in front of the painting.
Speaker 4 (19:13):
But well, it's better than a player to be named later.
What'd you get?
Speaker 5 (19:17):
Picassos in the background and the painting hoarding the pillows.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
Show hey Otani has been traded for the Mona Lisa.
I can't believe it happened, but it's happened now.
Speaker 4 (19:29):
It's something where the appreciation has been fantastic, and and
we know the Guggenheim fortune is there as much as
you love Cohen because you could put the singular face
on it all as opposed to a large enterprise. But
the reality is, uh, they they're very much in the mix.
I don't think that goes away just because they're up
the road. I mean, Ardy Marina was a guy looking
(19:51):
to sell the squad allegedly in recent history here, so uh,
I think he's resigned to show at he's gonna be gone.
And then it becomes the well who wants to come
with the biggest price. And I don't think the Dodgers,
especially with Mookie Betts being willing to shift to shortstop
some that they're gonna look away from that. All right,
(20:13):
here's what I want right with. We're gonna start with
the start with the Mona Lisa. We're starting with the
Mona Lisa.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
I also want Starry Night, and not the storm Trooper
target T shirt where it looks like a storm drawer.
I mean the real Van Go Starry Night.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
I want girl with a pearl earring, not the movie
with Scarlet Johanson.
Speaker 3 (20:30):
I want the actual girl with a pearl earing. I
want that. I want sunflowers. I want Van Go Sunflowers.
I want this.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
I'm just naming all the paintings that I know. I mean,
I don't know that many. I'm just all the paintings
that I know. What's the one with everybody screaming in it?
What's that one called with all the scream everybody screaming?
The faces are really weird. That's like another face that
would be No, come on, that's not that's not monk,
that's a that's a that's a Tony Shaloub show.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
No, no, no, no, it's just to one with everybody screaming.
Speaker 4 (21:01):
It's it's it's called like the screaming, not.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
The last the last Supper.
Speaker 4 (21:05):
No Edward who munch munch like Richard Belzer, the late Great.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
Oh okay, I tell you gonna say, that's the guy
used to thing.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
This guy used to have say sitting next to in
the cafeteria. Hey, me and Munch would eat together. It
was fun. Much is a good dude. Yeah, I like
him now yeah, now he drives a truck for his dad.
Munch is pretty cool, was his lunch?
Speaker 3 (21:29):
No? No, what?
Speaker 6 (21:30):
No?
Speaker 3 (21:30):
What's the one with everybody screaming on it? It's called
like the screaming something or the yelling? Okay, it's not.
Speaker 5 (21:42):
Cavaliers demolish them.
Speaker 4 (21:43):
And then this one where this dog's going this way
and that dogs, this dog's.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
Going what do you want from me? Dogs?
Speaker 7 (21:50):
Go?
Speaker 1 (21:51):
No, I want the boulevard and broken dreams right with
the three of the people sitting in the in the
uh in the bar, and it's to the guy and
the girl and then the guy at the end. They
made it into the Humphrey Bogart and that's it.
Speaker 3 (22:01):
Now I'm out of.
Speaker 4 (22:04):
And Elvis is hanging with James Steen in the corner.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
Yeah oh sure, sure, I mean, I I mean I
know other famous artists, but I don't know other paintings.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
I'm trying to think of other Oh, what's the one
with the god and man? Right?
Speaker 1 (22:15):
I want that one too. That's as Sistine Chapel where
the two fingers are gonna touch, right. I want the man.
Speaker 4 (22:21):
Yeah, I want the one from uh what was it
Batman versus Superman where Luther is and then it's upside down.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
Oh yeah, yeah, it's a good one too. I don't
know what that don't ask me that one. That one, No,
I don't know what that one is.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
But I'm really now the screaming one is really bothering
me that I can't think of which one that is.
It's the it's the guy. It's it's almost like home Alone,
where the guy is like his face and he's screaming
and I think he's got his hands up. But it's
it's called something, and I can't think of what it is.
Speaker 4 (22:48):
Oh man, originally just going back to the scream. But
you seem to think that there's a large group of
people doing this. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
I can't think of it. I can't think.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
There you go there, there's your art, there's your art,
there's your art history for the day.
Speaker 3 (23:05):
Art history.
Speaker 4 (23:06):
Yeah, nicely done. O you happen to have any great.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
Can you imagine sports talk radio except for they would
discuss paintings like like it's.
Speaker 4 (23:15):
Why not we can do that a little bit of research.
We can make that happen. We can make that a
monthly feature.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
You kidding me? Do you think the Mona Lisa I'm
still worthy of being the best painting of all time
number eighty seven seven in a fox. I think it's
too small, and plus you had that little bit, it
got a little bit damaged, and and so I don't
know if it is anymore. I think maybe he's dropped
out of the top.
Speaker 4 (23:35):
I don't know. I think people give out the call
number for far lesser.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
That's a hot that, that's a hot that's what they
call a hot take. I got a hot take which.
Speaker 4 (23:48):
You know, you know where I went though, which is
really cool. Suggestion if you go to New York it's
called the Frick Museum, you say that.
Speaker 3 (23:55):
Yeah, I don't think you can. I don't know. I
don't know about that. I don't know Frick Madison.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
I like, I like, I got hot takes on famous
paintings like that.
Speaker 3 (24:04):
That's that could be a.
Speaker 4 (24:04):
Podcast, next level stuff, and then we could do a
whole thing. Mona versus money.
Speaker 3 (24:10):
Oh yeah, we got Mona and Masha, Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah,
we got we Gotlly there, sure, we got yeah that's good.
Speaker 4 (24:21):
Oh a different try and know, we have a whole
pottery section that we do for a month and then
we do some statues.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
If famous quarterbacks were painters, who would they be? Mac Jones?
Speaker 1 (24:31):
Would be Van go Why because he's he cut his
own ear off despite his face by yelling at the
four at his coaching staff and they're not putting him
in the right position to win.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
Who's next? Oh, nicely done?
Speaker 4 (24:44):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (24:44):
And and who would be Pollock?
Speaker 4 (24:46):
I think, uh, you got the greatness of uh homes
because it's all over the place.
Speaker 3 (24:51):
Yeah, no, No, who.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
Knows who led the league interceptions? That's who Pollock is.
Oh my goodness. It can't make any sense to this,
just still greatness.
Speaker 3 (24:59):
To stop stop stop, stop shoehorning the Mets into everything. Frostburg,
come on, oh man, I'll tell you. I like the whole.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
Catalog hot hot takes on paintings. That would be some
kind of debate show. Had to be some kind of
debate show.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
I think we could make that happen.
Speaker 4 (25:16):
By the way, pitches in the first inning for Kershaw,
Yeah five innings now only sixty three pitches.
Speaker 3 (25:22):
Yeah, twenty two in the first inning, And like eighty
since then.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
Yeah, the Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon.
Now look, just you know you mentioned Zach Wilson, and
just think how weird this is for a second, right,
So he is present for the first day of offseason
workouts for the Jets. This is the guy who is
the number two quarterback, no matter, they don't even have
a number one. And he's told you the number two quarterback.
(25:47):
How weird must that be for him? Where the whole
team You show up and the whole team knows you're
not good enough. This time last year they thought you
were great. You had passing camps, presents for your offensive lineman,
and now it's like the only reason you're on the
team is because you have no trade value. And here
I am showing up every day, you know, the beginning
of off season workouts to try to, you know, rehabilitate
(26:09):
my career. That's gotta be such a difficult thing to do,
to show up at a place where everybody is looking
at you, and you know what they're thinking. If you
were any good, dude, we'd have been in the playoffs
last year. If you were any good, we'd have to
worry about trading a whole bunch of stuff. For Aaron Rodgers.
We're waking up every single day for him if you
were any good, and you have to show up knowing that,
and you have to put in hard work knowing you're
never going to be the starting quarterback there again because
(26:32):
if Aaron, when you get Aaron Rodgers, let's say he retires,
you know they're not going to give the job to
you again because they can't because fans will rip up
their season tickets and they will not show up at games.
Speaker 3 (26:42):
So how do you do that? How do you do
That's a really hard thing to do. Man.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
A year ago, at this time, you were the future,
you were it, you were what, And now it's you're
showing up day when you know what everybody thinks. That's
such a difficult thing to do. You know, you talk
about the mental aspect of being an athlete. Sometimes that's
something that people don't talk about. What happens when you're
just a forgotten person and you're only on the team
because they can't find a way to move on from you,
(27:06):
and you're you're still in a high profile ish position,
but you're not gonna play, They're not gonna count on
you. You know you were bad. You know the team knows
you were bad. They can't wait. They've all put videos
up on Facebook and social media and Instagram wanting Aaron
Rodgers to show up. And you gotta show up and
share the same locker room with them, and they're gonna
look at you like, yeah, but we s don't think
(27:28):
you're good.
Speaker 3 (27:28):
No, it doesn't happen. That's gotta be such a hard
thing to do.
Speaker 4 (27:31):
Well, you know what it's called being a professional.
Speaker 3 (27:34):
That's true.
Speaker 4 (27:35):
Maybe behind you you may have someone else that they're
waiting on. You know, there's the the non compete and
you gotta wait out the sixty days. So you're just
subbing and just biden time before someone comes in and
and takes over and you're relegated to whatever whatever you
can do before they they excize you from the from
(27:56):
the management processes. Zach Wilson's just to be a professional.
You just show up until you don't. And knowing the
way this game works, plenty of opportunities are going to
show up for another job just by injuries.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
What do we have?
Speaker 4 (28:11):
Almost seventy guys started a game last year. His number
can get called. He's still very, very Young. I would
not close the book on him just yet. Maybe in
New York, maybe New York, New Jersey, they do because
of what's gone and gone on and transpired and the
fact that all the fish raps decided to make him
(28:32):
the running joke. But the reality is there are plenty
of teams. It only takes one Smith.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
And speaking of the number one, maybe maybe we were
the ones that put this out there and said, Adam Silver,
you need to have a spine, you need to step
up and do something after Draymond Green. We'd heard reports
earlier in the day from Shams Gerania that it looked
like Draymond Green was not going to be suspended by
(28:59):
the end.
Speaker 3 (29:00):
NBA, well, we have a decision.
Speaker 1 (29:02):
It is in and Isaac Loewenkron has the results in
breaking news coming out of our studio right now.
Speaker 3 (29:09):
I low.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
Breaking news from Fox Sports.
Speaker 8 (29:15):
The NBA has just suspended Draymond Green for Game three
against Sakabo for stepping on the chest of the Kings
demonte Sebonis in game two. The NBA says the suspension
was based in part on Green's history of unsportsmanlike acts.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
Wow looking, Adam Silver, woo Hey, I'm proud of you.
Speaker 3 (29:36):
Man. Hey, I'm proud of you. Adam Silver. I think
I think we pushed him into it.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
I need to go play the lottery at this point,
I think I think we pushed him into it.
Speaker 3 (29:45):
We pushed it, but hey, he had to do it.
Speaker 1 (29:48):
Draymond Green gets a game suspension without pay for stepping
on Demanta Sabonis's chest just gets announced by Joe Dumars.
Of course, Joe dumar is making the announce because hey,
don't be mad at me, be met at Joe. So
we are breaking down this breaking story. Coming up next,
Draymond a game suspension by the NBA. Way to go
(30:09):
out of silver, that's coming up next. Right here for
the tirec dot Com Studios, this is Fox.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
Fox Sports Radio. The Jason Smith Show with my bass
friend Mike Harmon Hippie Kaya live from the tire iraq
dot com studios. We'll have more on the Suns and
the Clippers coming up in a few minutes. Phoenix leads
by six late in the third quarter. But we had
the big breaking news that came in a few minutes ago,
brought to us by Isaac Lohencron. The NBA has made
(31:29):
their decision on Draymond Green. They are suspending him for
Game three of the playoffs for stepping on the chest
to Sacramentos de Matta Sabonis in Game two. The NBA
saying the suspension was based in part on Green's history
of unsportsmanlike acts. And as you heard Jim Jackson, friend
of the show, describing it last night on TNT, Yeah,
(31:51):
this is pretty blatant by Draymond.
Speaker 7 (31:53):
Now watched into this play as he goes out, watch
him grab Draymond right there. That right there is where
the foul came in. So he grabs Draymond's leg right there.
Now Draymond steps on him.
Speaker 3 (32:09):
Showing the video. I can't believe that. Yeah, uh t
n T on the call.
Speaker 1 (32:14):
I look, last night we talked about this, you and
I and I said, you have to give him a
game at least maybe more.
Speaker 3 (32:20):
But you have to give him a game. You can't
let this go.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
Players rally to Draymond's defense, but you can't let a
guy footstomp somebody. And and and you know you talked
about his Adam Silver and look, we know he's spineless
and he doesn't want to do anything. He doesn't he
doesn't have to do it.
Speaker 3 (32:36):
I'm shocked.
Speaker 1 (32:37):
You know, we got the report from Shams Trania that
it looked like there was no discipline.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
Well was wrong. I can never trust him again. He's
not and he's done that. He's done.
Speaker 4 (32:45):
He's been he's been wooed by these shams, and he's
lost his edge.
Speaker 1 (32:49):
He is he on your never again list? Like yeah,
he goes to the never again I now have a set.
I gotta have a second.
Speaker 4 (32:56):
Or third check mark, real check mark source. Now I
can't trust Jams because he let me down here and
the doe eyed things and bat in the eyes and
and he was led astray, bad information charms.
Speaker 3 (33:09):
You failed us. Uh.
Speaker 1 (33:11):
So now they did it. They suspended him, and this
is the absolute right call.
Speaker 3 (33:17):
I I can't even tell you how I be proud
is a weird work. He's my son.
Speaker 9 (33:24):
I'm proud about him. So you you bullied him into
that courtroom. I've made I've made him make that decision.
I called you spineless an hour ago.
Speaker 4 (33:34):
No, but you're you're giving Kevin Bacon's speech and a
few good men.
Speaker 3 (33:38):
Don't look at him, look at me? How how? How? Uh?
Speaker 1 (33:43):
But he had to, he had no choice. Can you
imagine what the fallout would have been if Draymond Green
gets to foot stomp a player and doesn't have to
get to get a suspension. Forget for a second. We
we'll get into the part about Draymond Green's history and
this being Draymond the player, and.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
That's so large that the large yeah, but yeah.
Speaker 1 (34:01):
Let's deal with this part is that this is you're
talking about Game two of the playoffs. And if you
let this go forget about Draymond for a second. Let's
just say it wasn't Draymond. Let's say it was Julius Randall,
or let's say Julius Randall footstomp Tom Thibodau for leaving
him in the game in the final two minutes almost
getting hurt. Let's say it was somebody else. You would
still have to suspend that player because you don't want
(34:24):
the playoffs to get out of control because if players say, oh,
well that footstomp work, what's the next one? Right, Okay,
they're not gonna call this. I could do this, I
could do this. Play gets really chippy, then guys get injured.
You have to be able to be able to you
have to be able to show in the beginning, hey,
if you do this, this is what's gonna happen. So
now the rest of the playoffs, maybe it doesn't get
(34:46):
us out of control, because it would have gotten out
of control if Draymond Green didn't get suspended. And who
knows what would have happened in Game three. You're talking
about the Kings. Are they gonna take revenge into their
own hands? Oh, you didn't take care of Draymond. Will
do it on the court. Don't worry about it.
Speaker 3 (34:59):
You couldn't do it.
Speaker 1 (34:59):
Will do it right here for you. Don't worry, and
then things get really really bad. So from that perspective,
you had to do it. There was no choice of
not doing it. And I'm glad he found a spine.
I mean it was in a drawer somewhere, or he
had it buried in the backyard. I don't know, but
Adam Ziller found a spine, stuck that spine in his body,
standing up straight, going hey, Draymond, how about you take
a game.
Speaker 3 (35:19):
I'm proud of him. It's like like I shepherd him
to this, Mike. I feel proud about that. Yeah. No,
good job by you.
Speaker 4 (35:24):
I mean my opening rant to this when we started
the show, I mean, I'm wrong because I believe Schams.
Chams confirmed what I thought, and now it's all gone
to hell exactly again. Bad job by him, But I
thought given his history and given the league's history and
(35:45):
the gravitass of where we're at and down two oh.
All eyes now on the Sacramento Kings, who we were
talking about for a very long time on this show,
how much fun they were to watch, and with Deer
and Fox and those guys cooking up Murray the rookie
out of Iowa and all that stuff that that you
had a fun squad to watch, and all of a
(36:07):
sudden they're given the Warriors everything they can handle and
then some. What's curious now, though, is you still have
a a series that you really need to change how
you're officiating, right because they let them get after it
quite a bit the last couple of games. Steve Curry,
even in the post game, as he did everything he
could to avoid answering anything about Draymond Green directly was
(36:29):
talking about the physicality of play, and that's and that's
certainly the reality right as we were watching it. A
lot of work inside the paint and physicality and clutching
a jersey's and all those other things. So it'll be
curious to see how it's officiated for Game three and
no Draymond Green there, and theory takes a little bit,
(36:50):
releases that pressure valve a bit, but the curiosity is
there and Adam Silver making this huge statement, I'm still
like Jason Bateman and Dodgeball. I'm shocked, I tell you.
Looking at I'm so proud. I'm all disheveled, just like him.
I'm shocked.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
Maybe I just do feel proud. Mans do feel proud.
Speaker 1 (37:09):
No, No, you should, man, I feel like I made
bar Now Draymond hates me.
Speaker 3 (37:15):
I'm never gonna be on his podcast, He's never gonna have.
Speaker 4 (37:17):
His award winning iHeart.
Speaker 1 (37:20):
Mad gets a one game suspension. He will miss Game
three against the Kings. Coming up next, we'll have more
on this story, including you want a big, fat hot
take on Warriors, Kings, and Draymond Green.
Speaker 3 (37:35):
Oh we got one. Next Fox
