Speaker 2 (00:55):
Uh that was not me, That was Ai me somehow personally.
I really don't remember where that was from. I really
you don't. I don't remember where that was from.
Speaker 5 (01:09):
Really, I mean I I it could be any of
a hundred million things in a decade.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Shirt.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
I mean I might have been doing an impression of
what ty shirt sounded like when he comes on the air.
Speaker 4 (01:21):
Oh is that it?
Speaker 2 (01:22):
Wow?
Speaker 4 (01:22):
Nowhere near his.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Deep Now I'm talking with an extra deep voice.
Speaker 6 (01:27):
Sound Jason, what do you mean speaking at a very
low voice.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
I want you to.
Speaker 5 (01:36):
You saw him robbed his house?
Speaker 1 (01:38):
Yeah, hey, they took a gun from his house to
rob I mean, dude, that's like the plot for John
Wick five.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Okay, they came and robbed my house.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
At the plot I mean yeah, weapons.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
Luckily he wasn't home. I mean that's a scary story
man tease for them. Well well yeah, well that could
have ended really badly.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
Yeah, if he was home, they'd be gone.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Can you imagine like suddenly he like just just knocks
him wide and he's like, whoa?
Speaker 2 (02:06):
He is that guy? In real life? He's really well.
Speaker 5 (02:09):
Between John Wick and the last ronin. I mean, you
got man, that's just jew Roles.
Speaker 4 (02:13):
Although, guys, who are we kidding? He would get his
ass kicked in real life he's really.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
John I don't know, maybe he's really John Wick. Might
be you never know.
Speaker 4 (02:21):
And the Jets are good.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
Wow, no one's ever said that. No one has ever
said that.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
No, Look at how he defeated you, just like that no.
You know, he looks speak of being defeated, right, this
is you know, okay, So get.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
To no no, no, no, no, no, no no no.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
We'll get to the NFL coming up in a second.
But look, Marquee game of the night to night in
the NBA, Boston beats the Knicks one thirty three, one
twenty three.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Jalen Brown, upset that he got ejected, said the referee
was over emotional. Okay, I kind of get it a
little bit, but you know what, you won the game,
So wait, what are you worried about?
Speaker 4 (02:56):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (02:57):
The end of the game.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
For some reason, with twelve seconds left to go, Jalen
Brunson is still on the floor for the Knicks, and
he winds up stepping on Prayton Pitcherd's foot and twisting
his ankle.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Looked a lot like Trevor Lawrence the other night.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
And he limps off and after the game, I'm going
I'm waiting for Tom Thibodau to own it and say anything,
and all we've had so far is Tom Thibodau had
no update or comment on what happened. Jalen Brunce, I'm like, dude,
why the blank was he in the game. I mean,
come on, man, it's that simple. There's twelve seconds left
in the game and you're down. There's twenty seconds left
of you're down twelve, Why are you in the game?
(03:31):
What are you in the game for at that point?
Speaker 2 (03:33):
And now who knows how long he's at home.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
They got to get along without him because they've been
able to beat everybody except for the Celtics and the
Bucks this year. So now suddenly, okay, now they're without
their best player because for some reason he's still in
the game with twenty seconds left to go.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
Don't you know you try to be a man of
the people. If you're Jalen Brunson and I'm watching it
again here, it's an innocuous thing, right, and not driving
to the hoop, just trying to get open on an
inbounce play. Yeah, steps backward and oh there's Pritchet's foot.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Yeah, that's why.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
That's why you get taken out of the game when
when it's a twelve point game, so you know, so
get hurt.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
That's what well?
Speaker 5 (04:14):
I mean, is margin a victory part of the tie breakers?
You know, if they're around in the playoffs, like it
wasn't the end season tournament. Maybe you played for pride.
You don't want to come off the court because you're
that guy.
Speaker 4 (04:31):
I don't give them.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
No, that's where you just I'm sorry you're coming out.
Speaker 5 (04:34):
And I don't think there's still quit me, coach, don't
take me out.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
And no we're down twelve.
Speaker 5 (04:39):
No we're not gonna wear Let me give you a
couple more minutes to grimey over there.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
It's it's it's over. It's not happening. But yet this
is what happens. And now who knows how long the
guy is out for? Like what are you doing? I
don't understand, like what, Like the more time goes on,
and this is a this is a really big year
because the Nick should take a step this year. And
and you know, maybe they're gonna they're gonna they're gonna
jump in and say, well, we need another star player.
(05:03):
We gotta go at Joel and beat whatever. It gonna
be some kind of crazy ass stuff. But I'll sit
here and say, Okay, I remember what it was like
when we weren't going to the playoffs and things were bad,
So I remember that, right. But at the same point,
it's like, are the Knicks getting better? Like like, are
they getting better? Are they taking big steps forward or
did they already take their step forward? And this is
kind of who they are now. They're a team who
(05:25):
will finish fifth or sixth in the standings in the East,
maybe win the first round of a playoff game, and
then move on.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
Now.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
Look for me, I get it, cause I remember how
bad it was for a decade when they couldn't even
make the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
But if you're really trying, you got a pretty good
team together.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
How long until you look at Tom Tibodau and say, dude,
you may have maxed out. Man, you may have max
especially when now defense, which is his hallmark, the knicks
of the teams are just scoring like crazy on the
Knicks now, which you know because eventually a guy that's
that's a hard ass coach like Thibodeau gets tuned out
a little bit, and so you know, you need a different.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
Message at times. And that's what I look at it
and said.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
And I always knew the minute the Knicks start not
playing well defensively, that's when I know that they're tuning out.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
Thibodaux a little bit.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
So this is a big year because if they don't
make a big jump this year. It's gonna be do
we have the right guy in place? Do we need
to go bigger for a head coach? That's gonna be
somebody else, different message, different whatever with the team. So
this is a really big year for the mix.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (06:20):
I think it goes back to how you were breaking
down your viewpoint of the Los Angeles Chargers. He got
one or two guys, and then we start looking at
how do we make things better around them? And that's
exactly especially at the coaching spot as well. I mean
Tom Thibodeau, we know this right, He grates, he grinds,
(06:44):
and eventually it's time for that message to be changed
and to bring in somebody else in a different philosophy,
because if you're not gonna win from a defensive end
to where you're grinding out games and winning ugly, because
that's really if you want the down to brass tacks
with Tom Thibodeau, that's the style that he would love
(07:07):
to employ. Well, that's not the NBA in twenty twenty three.
You could get that for a couple of games, maybe
for a playoff run you can buy that, but for
a full eighty two game regular season into that now
that message gets lost and gets sorted out. So he's
the kind of guy. I'd bring him in like Winston
Wolf in pulp fiction, to where I got all sorts
(07:29):
of stuff going down, and then I'd bring him into
com it down at a later point. You know, get
everybody's attention at that point, because Brady two games, you're
not getting the buy in, and like you said, it's
a turnstile on the defensive end of things. And now
you got Brunson the one guy that you want to
hang your hat on.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
And RJ.
Speaker 5 (07:49):
Barrett's been good in spots. Julius Randall has had small
streaks where he's looked like that guy from a couple
of years ago, but the rest of it, yeah, not
so much, especially when you see Porzingis go off like
he did tonight or thanks for that guy.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
Hasn't played in weeks. No, I want to make sure
to come back to that Knicks game. I wanna make
sure I'm back for that Knicks game. I'm gonna go
nine for nine in the first half shooting the basketball
and give us a big lead.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
I'm making sure I'm coming back for that game.
Speaker 4 (08:13):
He thought his career was over.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
Jacks porzenkis he only plays well against the Knicks?
Speaker 5 (08:17):
Come on, man, that's all it is. You wrote in justin?
Is he the Latvian Dirk?
Speaker 4 (08:22):
Guess what he wrote back?
Speaker 5 (08:24):
Nicely done?
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Hey do you have an update to where in the
world show Hey Tani is right now? Frostberg got updated
on him.
Speaker 4 (08:30):
Yeah, I think he's had an anime event. Tyshirt's got
more than it.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Okay, all right, very good.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
Guys.
Speaker 6 (08:39):
This just in live from Minneapolis itself at the Convention Center.
There has been a spotting of show Hey Otani son
at an actual anime event, and I quote supporting the
new Blue Eye Samurai cosplay sensationally done?
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Are any of those real things? Oh?
Speaker 5 (08:56):
Yes, yeah, it's like fetch though he Blue Eye Samurai
is now his fetch trying to make that happen.
Speaker 6 (09:03):
Okay, but I trust my sources.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
Do you know where Minneapolis.
Speaker 7 (09:12):
Is it?
Speaker 2 (09:12):
Automake event? Where is it in Minneapolis? In Canada? T Shirt? Yeah, yeah, we.
Speaker 6 (09:18):
Already did an update from Toronto, my bet, I know,
I know.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
It's okay, it's okay, it's it's in It's in Western Canada. Yeah,
it's near Vancouver, I think so, yes, Okay.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Yeah, there you go The Jason Smith Show with Mike
Carmen lot of thetirag dot com studios.
Speaker 5 (09:33):
Now, look the game.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
We'll get to Philadelphia in Dallas's two big games this week. Right,
we got Philadelphia in Dallas and we have Buffalo in
Kansas City. Now, the the offshoot for the Bills is
they're going to try to play this game having to
deal with this controversy that four years ago, Sean Picdermott
decided to bring up the nine to eleven hijackers in
a way to try to motivate his team.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
How do you think they work together? Dude? What are
you talking about?
Speaker 1 (09:56):
So this gets made public four years after it happened,
it's hit piece, it's out there now, and here are
the Bills fighting for survival. But I got news for you.
Bills are gonna win this game. They are the more
desperate team. And this is a Josh Allen game where
he has played extremely well, and he takes another big
moment and a big bite out of Kansas City because
(10:18):
the Chiefs are just kind of getting by. You've watched
them this year. They're not the same team. They're just
not They're not explosive on offense.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
They don't.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
And this is when they've had Isaiah Pacheco, who's been
fantastic the last couple weeks. Now they're not gonna have
him on Sunday, which is a really big deal because
he's been so good. But the biggest thing is the
Chiefs often you look at Mahomes. We're not talking about
Mahomes for MVP. Mahomes almost can barely get a couple
of touchdowns on the board in the game. The Chiefs
are gonna rue not getting a wide receiver at the deadline.
(10:48):
We talk about the Jets need to make a movie,
get a quarterback, and trade for somebody that'd like, Hey,
the Jets stunk, right. The Chiefs are a super Bowl team, right,
This is a super Bowl caliber team every year. And
I don't know what made them think we're gonna be fine.
Wide receiver rise the rest of the way because last
year it worked because they figured things out right, and
by this point Kadarius Tony was kind of a trick
(11:09):
guy that would come in, run a couple of plays,
catch a pass for a touchdown. They had enough and
now this year they thought, okay, well, sky Moore and
maybe Justin Ross comes through and we drafted Rashie Rice
and we have enough numbers. It's just like last year,
except it's not. These receivers are not as good. Travis
Kelcey is not as dominant as he was. And you
want to say it's the Tailor Swift curse, but this
(11:31):
could be bigger call Travis Kelcey getting close to thirty
five years old. It's just not the same, and they're
much easier to stop. You don't see the big chunk
yardage plays from the Chiefs anymore. A lot of it
is methodical drives downfield. It's a lot of a checko
and you see a lot of drops, a lot of drops,
a lot of wrong routes run by the Chiefs wide receivers,
and Mahomes must want to pull his hair out going
how we keep dropping these passes? How are we not
(11:52):
where we should be? The Chiefs are not that good,
and they're gonna rue not going to get a wide
receiver because that's what's gonna knock him out. Because other
teams are gonna play against, are gonna be a little
bit more dynamic than they are offensively, and the Chiefs
are gonna have a tough time keeping up in a shootout,
whereas a year's past. Hey, you want a shootout that
plays right into our hands. We get up by ten
in the shootout, it's over because you're not gonna stop
(12:13):
us from scoring more than two possessions in a row.
But now this time the Chiefs can't do it, and
the Bills are gonna expose them on Sunday, and the
Bills are the more desperate team.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
They get the win.
Speaker 5 (12:23):
Well, you got the Bills coming out of the bye week,
and certainly you'd like things to be a lot more
calm than this McDermott thing. But it was four years ago,
so internally maybe it's already you know, it's already been
addressed versus all right, here he is, you know, calling
it a hit piece and whatever else. Well, the stuff
got out, you know, like cheese. Yeah, I got out,
(12:45):
and here you now have to answer for it, by
the way, I mean, there's so many different myriad things
you could have equated it to. That would have been
just fun, you know, building a puzzle, a nice puzzle
with your kids.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
There you go, everybody, stay away from nine to eleven
at World War Two. Don't do it. Stay away from
nine eleven at World War two, don't do it. Pretty
simple concept.
Speaker 5 (13:06):
The Jets killed Carl, right, you could have gone down
that road.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
Right, let's talk about kurb Auton Safarian Jenkins completed the catch.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
He completed the catch, so know he completed the catch.
Speaker 5 (13:16):
But I mean we look at the receiving corps for
case here real quick. You got Kelsey at seventy four receptions.
Rashi Rice, you know you mentioned him, fifty two for
five ninety one with five scores.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
That's good.
Speaker 5 (13:29):
The Checkos third at thirty three receptions, Noah Gray, Noah
Gray twenty two, along with Kadarius Tony anybody anybody sky
Moore at twenty one, and then Justin Watson who's popped
up on the radar a couple times. He's got twenty
McKinnon still hurt, and then mvs Wow. They're completing fifty
(13:50):
percent of the past attempts, seventeen catches, thirty three targets
on the year. So trying to find some semblance of
consistency beyond Kelsey breaking containment and Rice has come on nicely,
but it's not nearly enough. The loss of a Checko
top ten for fantasy purposes two straight weeks twenty plus
(14:10):
touches three straight weeks. I mean, that's a huge loss
to your offense. And Clyde Edwards Hilaire has had many
opportunities and bites at the Apple to try to win
that job and keep that job, and has failed time
and again. Defense has been a bit more susceptible to
big plays as well. So now you're looking at, you know,
the Buffalo offense coming out. They've found more weapons along
(14:33):
the way, They've changed things up with the coordinator. Josh
Allen is there to make plays both with his legs
and winging it downfield. Sure he'll make some mistakes, but
where's the ceilings higher for that offense right now than
the Chiefs is? Even though we look at the NFL
MVP odds right now, Prescott first, followed by Purdy Hurts
(14:56):
and Patrick Mahomes six and a half right there for you.
I haven't seen anything about from Zach's mom in a while,
though I gotta say that this morning, aren't you dating her?
Speaker 2 (15:08):
Me?
Speaker 5 (15:09):

Hold up, I need I need an impression at least
come out now, where's the accent? I mean the final
line was good ahead of the riff?
Speaker 4 (17:48):
Do imposts pretty cold?
Speaker 1 (17:51):
That's my new favorite Christmas song? Really, the Halls Warpigs.
Speaker 5 (17:56):
You're taking that over Christopher Lee.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
Come on, yes, because christoph Christopher Lee. Okay, Christopher Lee
just sings the song, and he sings, so I'm trying
to sing song. Wow, you can barely hear what he's
saying because he's just.
Speaker 4 (18:10):
First, you hate Honkah. Now you hate Christopher Lee.
Speaker 2 (18:12):
No, no, no, no stop.
Speaker 5 (18:14):
I'm the hater and the group. How dare you are
the hater?
Speaker 2 (18:17):
You are? You are the hater? You are?
Speaker 5 (18:18):
You hated Honkah?
Speaker 2 (18:19):
You're a bit? No what do you mean? What are
you talking about? That's ridiculous. No, you're just listen. Just
keep all of you drinking your hater aid, whatever your
favorite flavor is.
Speaker 5 (18:29):
Just keep drinking it, drinking it, drinking and drinking ice blue.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
I mean, you're you're already hate watching a game that
hasn't happened yet. The Lakers and the and the Pacers.
Speaker 5 (18:38):
No I'm positive. No, I'm you have positivity.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
You have n you hate watching replays of the games
leading up to Themorrow.
Speaker 5 (18:46):
Pre game a day out, and I could have hate
watched a little bit of the replays of all the
conference championship games. See this is the play where they
decided to screw it.
Speaker 1 (18:59):
Right here, I'm looking right now, Kenny Smith is on
the streets of Vegas doing a preview doing people on
the street getting their picks for the games.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
You're hate watching this?
Speaker 5 (19:08):
Are they doing another segment of Steven A. Smith and
Shack mocking each other for their hairlines?
Speaker 8 (19:15):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (19:15):
The Jason Smith Show and Mike Carmon live from the
tire rack dot Com studios.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
All right, we'll get to.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Our upset special picks in the NFL coming up in
a couple minutes. But I'll tell you this right now,
I'm already on ed talking about hate watching. I'm already
on edge because today I had to wake up and
see all through my timeline reading the New York Post
everywhere else. What an unbelievable practice Zach Wilson had today,
best practice he's ever had as a jet Tyler conklin
(19:43):
offensive lineman. Other players going Wow, he threw the ball
all roll the field. He made some throws I can't
believe he made. Oh my goodness, And I'm and I
am ready to sit here and go. If finally they
let him loose and just say screw it, throw it
down field, we don't care what happens. We're four and eight.
If they just finally say screw it, let him do
that and he goes for three hundred and three touchdowns
(20:05):
against the bleeping Texans on Sunday and they win, I'm
gonna throw my TV out the window because I'm gonna
be so pissed that they we waited this long. How
about if you're gonna put him out there, let him
do what he should be doing. You can't make a
quarterback great by telling him, don't make mistakes. Don't make mistakes.
Play boring, play boring. It's not NFL in nineteen eighty seven,
and I knew Robert Salah was out of his element
(20:26):
as a head coach the minute he started saying that
Zach's gotta play boring. Take No, that's not how you win, man.
That's you're a defensive coordinator that knows nothing about how
to program an offense in a modern National Football League
because you don't win that way. But now, because everything
is done, what do we have to lose? Watch him
turn it loose. He's gonna make throws. He's gonna run
(20:46):
all the way to the left side of the field,
stop on a dime, throw it all the way back
to the right side to Garrett. Wilson's gonna be ten
yards behind a dB. No one thought he could throw
it that far. And the Jets are gonna win like
thirty one to twenty, and it's gonna be look at
this down, the Jets are alive and Zach Wilson and
I really I'm gonna want to throw my TV out
the window because not only is the season over, they
could have done this and they should have done this week.
(21:07):
So if you're going to stick with Zack Wilson, let
him just do his thing, let him throw deep, don't
don't tell him not to do things.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
Let him go, let him go, let him, let him
see the field that he wants to. If he throws
four picks, he throws four picks, it doesn't matter. You
made the mistake of sticking with him. At least let
him go do his thing.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
And now he's gonna do it Sunday and it's gonna
be an unbelievable day and the Jets are gonna win.
And again my TV is gonna go out the window
right after the game is open.
Speaker 5 (21:31):
Well, what I need to have happen is that it
doesn't come from Nathaniel Hackett and the coaching staff, that
this is a full mocks and situation where it's a
full coup in the in the locker room where they
just say, you know what, we're not listening, We're not
going out there with you, right, And then that's it.
(21:53):
There's a statue of Kilmer in the whole nine yards.
In this case, it's Hackett, stick with the analogy. And
then you know, Zach Wilson is out there and Aaron
Rodgers has the head set on. See it works, injured quarterback,
bad legs. See what I did there? It all comes together.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
Is he gonna go to the sideline and Robert Sala's
gonna yell out and he's gonna say, ah.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
Don't want your life, that's right.
Speaker 5 (22:16):
He's gonna hit him with the whistle saying stick to
the basics, stick to the basics. And he's gonna, you know,
have a couple of speeches that may be a whipped
cream bikini involved.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (22:27):
I'm just I'm just drawing.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
It up here as we're talking that it's full mockxing.
Speaker 5 (22:31):
It's got nothing to do with the coaching staff. So
not suddenly Hackett realizing, gee, let's go back and watch
some tape of this kid, you know from what they
made him the number two overall pick. Now, the hell
with that, you're deposed. It's our team now. And Aaron
Rodgers says, hey, Hackett, I got.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
This, and he goes and salas just brushing his teeth
behind the plate sheet like in the commercial.
Speaker 5 (22:55):
That's it. It's all he's gotta do. And you know,
I don't know if he grew the beard. I can
make sure that you know he's got the just you know.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
The looks so natural, no one can tell.
Speaker 5 (23:05):
Just for men things going on, and he brushes his
teeth and just stays the hell out of the way.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
Just keep brushing your teeth doing those commercials. Keep that
beard nice and dark so it looks good on TV.
Everybody else do their things.
Speaker 4 (23:18):
Are you gonna spin a basketball on it? Like he's mobile.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
Exit out about a Fresca Exit, Swollen Dome, the Jason
Smith Show with my best friend my Carman.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
You know that's how it's gonna go.
Speaker 5 (23:31):
They're like, they though, dude, are you kidding?
Speaker 2 (23:34):
I love that? Uh, you know that's how it's gonna go.
Speaker 1 (23:37):
You know, the texts are gonna stumble a little bit
in the game if you're gonna say at the end,
I can't believe he lost the Jets, and it's gonna
be why did the Jets do this sooner? And I
mean I'm gonna want I'm gonna my hands, my knuckles,
I'm gonna keep cracking my knuckles so much because I'm
gonna want to hit something. And it's gonna be my TV.
And again, my TV is gonna go out the window.
Whether or not it fits out the window, it could
go out in pieces. It's going out the window.
Speaker 5 (23:57):
Yeah, well, I mean look elvish TVs.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
I know it's gonna happen. It's gonna happen. I know it.
Speaker 1 (24:03):
You know, it's funny how we keep there's a lot
of illness. Mike Harmon, Yeah, it's illness.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
Illness. Wait, wait, are we testing for COVID or no? Like,
like we just stopped doing that. Now we're just not
doing it.
Speaker 5 (24:13):
We're not reporting. It's just illness. We don't have to
be specific, just not feeling good.
Speaker 2 (24:17):
I feeling good.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
If we do test, can't report is positive, can't miss
a game. So that's gonna go.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
Mike and I do it every week right here on
the show, we give you our Upset Special picks for
the week in the NFL one and O last week
fourteen and nine on the season so far, Mike, why
don't you kick things off your first Upset Special pick
of the week.
Speaker 5 (24:37):
And I'll take the Bears at home plus three against Detroit.
Detroit's secondary Aaron Glenn having some issues with that squad
of late Bears certainly tested them in the first go around,
and right now trending much better. You look at fields
one hundred plus quarterback rating and the offensive efficiency with
Comet and DJ Moore run game three headed monster a
(25:01):
bit better. But the big bonus here was bringing in
mons As sweat and the amount of pressure they're bringing
up front number two against the run. That'll stifle the
efforts of Montgomery and Jamier Gibbs leading Jared goff Well
in a little bit of trouble. Third and long means
third and fume.
Speaker 2 (25:19):
Give me the bars plus three. You know, the Lions
have worried me a little bit the last couple of weeks.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
They have you look, my pick to go to the
super Bowl, but they have. They're kind of like the team.
They're kind of like the underclassmen that have senioritis, Like
they think they've already done everything they need to do.
They win, but they don't play a complete game right.
They know they've done the work, they know they're put
it in, but they've got a little bit too much.
We got this when you can't. You can't in the
(25:46):
middle of the season just think, Okay, we prepare, we
go out, we execute right, Like against New Orleans, no
Derek Carr, they still come back in the game, Like,
how do you learn them do that right? You kind
of see it sometimes in an overnight success where you
work hard for a short period of time you start
seeing results and you don't keep that work ethic, And
that worries me about the lines a little bit because
you think, well, we already did all the work we
need to do. We just got to go out and play.
(26:07):
And when it doesn't go your way, it's what's happening.
We don't understand what the situation is and we don't
know why we're losing, and we try to fix it,
and what it is is, Hey, you kind of let
it go to your head a little bit.
Speaker 2 (26:17):
You're not preparing like you should. So, yeah, Lions are
worried me a little bit, buddy. I like your pick
there go.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
I am gonna go first with the Colts over the Bengals.
Give me the Colts getting three Indianapolis is hot. Yes,
no Jonathan Taylor Thomas, but you know what, they know
how to play without him. Zack Moss has played really
well when he's played without Taylor in the lineup. I
can't believe Jake Browning is going to have another night
like he did against Jacksonville. Zack Moss is going to
have a huge game. You have the Colts that are
(26:45):
playing for something and the Bengals are gonna get a
little bit of a bounce.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
It was an excitement level.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
Browning came in last week, you know, and it was
it was something that was shocking the way he was
able to move the Bengals down the field. Not gonna
happen with heads prepare they know who the quarterback is
gonna be. They know what he likes to do. Well,
you saw it all on National TV. Give me the
Colts in the game. I'm not gonna need the points,
but I'll take them. I'll take the Colts twenty one
to seventeen.
Speaker 5 (27:10):
Oh, I dig it all right. For my other one,
I'm gonna ram it all day, ram it all night.
Speaker 2 (27:15):
Weather.
Speaker 5 (27:15):
It gonna be a factor both in that Chicago game.
They had torrential down for it today and rain illness,
everything that's going on with Baltimore. I got questions, but
it's a seven and a half point line and the
Rams playing some pretty good football right now. I know
the Ravens coming out of the bye week, but still
seven and a half. If you're giving me that hook,
(27:36):
I mean you just got crossed over. That key number
gets me all excited over under thirty nine, Stafford, Can
you keep him up right? Can you keep rokwand Smith
Patrick Queen in company away from in some good work
on that defensive line of late as well. But Kyron
Williams top back week to week here in the league,
both as a runner and receiver, and I think he
(27:57):
makes some hey as both here this week. Against the Ravens.
Give him a shot and then maybe Cooper Cup and
our guy Pooka Nakua they make up for that anime
tiff on the field on Sunday.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
Gino Smith is questionable for the game. Pete Carroll says
he's a game time decision. But as long as Gino
Smith plays, I can't believe I'm saying this.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
As long as Gino Smith plays, I will take the Seahawks.
Speaker 1 (28:24):
They're getting thirteen and a half at this point against
San Francisco. I feel like this is a reaction to
the forty nine ers win last week. Look, they beat
the crap out of the Eagles, So here's a near
two touchdown point spread. This is a division game. I
know San Francisco won a couple weeks ago thirty one
to thirteen, But Seattle's offense is starting to figure things
out a little bit.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
They go pretty deep.
Speaker 1 (28:45):
Looks like both running backs are going to play this week.
San Francisco is going to get a little bit of
a bounce coming off last week. They looked the game
of the year last week they played. As long as
Gino Smith plays, Seattle is going to be able to score.
They're desperate they need to win to keep their going
because they're six and six. They're dangerous on offense.
Speaker 2 (29:03):
They'll score.
Speaker 1 (29:04):
San Francisco still wins, but it's closed and it's a
one score game. Maybe San Francisco buy a field goal.
But thirteen and a half way too much for me
to say. Yes, give me the Niners. I'll take the Seahawks.
Gino Smith plays Seahawks and thirteen and a half.
Speaker 5 (29:16):
I like it with Gino a game time decision. You've
got Drew Locke is the backup, and they signed Sean
Mannion to the practice squad.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
Get Ready, get ready.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
Well, if Drew Locke plays only twenty two points? Oh,
if Sean Mannion played, it doesn't that would be.
Speaker 5 (29:33):
Interesting to see. How much is Gino worth? Yeah, since
thirteen or thirteen and a half right now, how much
balance would it get? Well, we already know it's gone too.
It's gone two and a half points in the last
day and a half. Yeahhh, I mean he can't move latterly. No,
that's a final a groin injury.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
Exit out by a Fresco exit swollen dome.
Speaker 5 (29:57):
There.
Speaker 1 (29:57):

Okay, can you guys hear me, am I on.
Speaker 4 (31:22):
Wet balls. That's what Belichick told all the players after
beating the Steelers.
Speaker 2 (31:34):
Weally makes the pick tomorrow, Army Navy. What do you think, Bill? Army?
All right, thanks, Bill, appreciate it coming all the way
down here for that. You're welcome.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
All right, there you go, there's Bill Belichick. Everybody making
our best special.
Speaker 5 (31:47):
Pick for us, right, come on, he gotta win on
Thursday Night football. You saw the people trying to give
him fist pumps or whatever as he went back to
the locker room. But Army Navy. I mean, look, this
is the guy tradition and history and everything. Whenever he's
been part of those panel shows of the on the
NFL network and all. I mean, it's a masterclass. When
(32:08):
he does the chalk talk and film review for the
local Boston media, it's great stuff. I think you'll be animated.
I think you'll be excitable. It'll be great. Time Now

you mentioned the word masterclass. We had the big show,
Heyotani controversy today. John Paul Morosi, longtime, it'll be network
insider front of the show.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
He's on with us every week. Put out a tweet
that Otani was on his way to Toronto and the
baseball world was a fire. He's going to be a
blue Jay. And then later on in the day, John
Hayman and Bob Nightingale to other baseball insiders Big Time,
they've both been on the show with us. I said, no, no,
not happening. Oh Tani not going to Toronto. He is
in southern California. Well, you want to know what to
(33:05):
do and how to own it when you get something wrong.
This is John Paul Morosi. This is why the guy's
the top this profession. We had him on the show
earlier tonight. I wanted to ask him, Hey, what happened?
And this is John Morosi's answer.
Speaker 7 (33:19):
The first and foremost thing I'll say, and I've acknowledged
as much on Twitter. I made a mistake. I reported,
based on some information I had received from multiple people,
that he was going to be in Toronto, today. As
you mentioned, I did not report that he was signing there,
just that he was going to be there, and that
was inaccurate.
Speaker 2 (33:40):
He did not.
Speaker 7 (33:40):
Travel there, as Bob Night and Gilleler's reported. He ended
up staying in California. And so we wait some more. Again.
The Blue Jays are certainly part of this. The Dodgers
are two, the Giants R two. The Angels have not
been eliminated, nor have the Cups. So that final group
of five that we've talked to about a lot is
(34:01):
is still part of that group and we're waiting to
hear the decision again. I reported today that his choice
is believed to be imminent, that people connected the process
believed that he would make a choice before the end
of the weekend. I still have no reason to doubt
that information, that he's that he's nearing a decision. But
again the exact whereabouts of Otani. I was told that
(34:23):
he was flying to Toronto, and in fact he did not,
So that that's a mistake, and that is on me.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
He said that how many times it was my fault.
Speaker 1 (34:33):
I made a mistake. That's how you do it, man,
that is exactly how you do it. That that's a
rock star right there.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (34:39):
Sometimes you know the information doesn't pan out. Everybody that's
been in that business at some point you know it
doesn't the math doesn't add up, or there's a change
of plans. May have everything ninety right. It's like predicting games,
predicting fantasy, whatever else. Like you got it right, you
(34:59):
called it right, and then there's one play that sends
it all off. Likewise, here, information could have been good
until the final two minutes and that's it. You just
don't know.
Speaker 2 (35:09):
So great stuff from John Morosi coming on talking about it.
Speaker 1 (35:12):
It happens. You don't get everything right. And it was
a really really big thing of him to do to
come on and say that again, if you missed any
of that great stuff from him. The Best of Podcasts
goes up in a few minutes on iTunes Jason Smith
Show with Mike Carmon, Get it listen. It's a must
must listen. Now, let's finish up here. Two games of
the week. We talked about the Bills and the Chiefs.
We both like the Bills to win this game. Eagles
(35:37):
and the Cowboys. It's been kind of a week for
the Cowboys. Got Mike McCarthy coming back from appendicitis and coaching,
and the Cowboys are red hot. Everybody's ready to bury
the Eagles. Guess what, Eagles are gonna smoke the Cowboys.
They are gonna smote mad Mad coming off the last week,
and everybody wants to shovel dirt on them. You know what,
all the great teams in the NFL lose three or
(35:58):
four games during the regular season. Doesn't matter how you lose,
doesn't matter who you lose it to. They're putting too
much stock in this game against the forty nine ers.
You know, everybody loses games they shouldn't lose. They lose
to good teams, they lose to bad teams. This was
one week it wasn't the Eagles day. And now that's
gonna allow them to refocus. They're gonna come out blazing
and they're gonna beat the Cowboys and it's gonna be
(36:19):
by at least double digits and everything. We back on
the Eagles bandwagon, and Jerry Jones is gonna be sitting
around on Tuesday going here, let me, let me just
tell you why we lost. We're still a super Bowl
caliber team. All these things happening, that's how it's gonna
go this weekend.
Speaker 5 (36:32):
Blueprints and craziness all across. We've got great soundbites, but
none better than David Carr. You want to talk about
motivational speeches, Marcus Mariota should be here quarterback.
Speaker 2 (36:47):
The hell.
Speaker 5 (36:48):
I know, I like hot take nonsense as much as
the next guy, But come on now, yeah, that's just
hot take for hot take's sake.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
What can I say? Marcus Mariota, that's what we want.
That's the guy.
Speaker 5 (36:58):
So yeah, here come the Eagles plus three and a
half on the road. Fifty one and a half though,
get your popcorn.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
Yeah, I'll take the Eagles in this one all day.
They'll get Jalen Hurts, maybe some design runs. Getting Dallas
Goddard back is going to be huge. He's been out
since Week nine. Give me the Eagles in a big
one on Sunday exit. How about a Fresca swollen dome
for Mike. I'm Jason. Have a great weekend, enjoy the games.
We both have Jaydon Daniels winning the Heisman tomorrow night.
(37:24):
Bernie Fratto is next.
Speaker 2 (37:25):
This is Fox
