out for you every single night. Great holiday gift for
your family and friends. We are approaching the two minute
warning of the fourth quarter. Packers trail the Eagles ten
to seven, ten to seven. If you had the over

(01:15):
under at forty five, you're feeling pretty good. You're licking bills.
You are feeling pretty good right now again ten to seven, yay,
it's close late, it's close, right, it's close. We don't
have to talk about the first three quarters. We can
just talk about the four. I mean, there were two touchdowns.
Oh yeah, that's pretty good. That's better than some games

(01:36):
I watched the job. I don't know if we're gonna
get two touchdowns the rest of the year, Garrett Arrett,
wih I can't count in a kick and punt return
for a touchdown every game. We're not playing the Browns again.
I mean, come on, man, looking at the quarterbacks that
you're going up against, Like, we can get a touchdown
defensively against that guy right by the way, who is
the genius that thought? You know, we gotta do we
got to put Jet's Patriots on but like week eleven, like,

(01:58):
what are you talking about? Why would you play? This
is like a week two TNF game. Let's get them
before the Jets suck, because we know that's good and
the Patriots, how good are they gonna be? Now you
didn't know about the Patriots, Okay, but really, boy, we
gotta get the Jets while they're still so why would
you go Jets and Patriots Week eleven? Come on, man, really,
I think they wanted to highlight Aaron Glen against Mike

(02:21):
Rabel al Michaels. Right now is look at this, guys,
we're going oh no, no, no, not after last week.
You can't do this to be the points spread. No,
not doing this, not doing this, guess it twenty one,
twenty one and a half. It might as well be.
It's early in the week. It's early in the week.
It's early, so again closing them the two minute warning,
Packers with the football deep in their own territory and

(02:42):
need a field goal to tie this game. Really, boy,
from last Thursday to tonight and we got Jets, but
we are in a bad week run of Thursday night
foot Yeah, but you know Thursday will be great because
you'll you'll still get either hyped or unconsolable. I think
how that game goes, because I mean, you don't love

(03:03):
the Patriots, you hate the Patriots, right. The fact that
they won this past weekend gives them a little bit
of juice, right, because that was a plus team, that
was a division leading team. They're minus I think nine
thousand to win that division. That's how bad the NFC
South is. Even after the loss, the Buccaneers are that
that great Carolina coming in at plus eight fifty. Their

(03:25):
quarterback had one hundred and twenty four passing yards. He's
eclipsed two hundred passing yards once all year. Uh yeah,
and they're they're the second favorite in the division. But yeah,
the Patriots get in there and sell Drake may sell Sell.
I mean, maybe networks can slump too, right, Like, Hey,
we're we're in a bad We're in a bad pride.
We gotta we gotta pull ourselves out of this, man,

(03:46):
ad We're in a bad way.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Man.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
We gotta, we gotta. We gotta have meetings. We gotta
have players only meetings, we have executive only meetings. We
gotta figure it out. Did they suddenly start playing an
old Jets Patriots game. Here's Tom Brady. We're gonna show you,
Tom Brady, look at this. So again, this is where
we're at right now. But again ten to seven, two
minute warning in the fourth quarter. More in this game
coming up in a few minutes. But Brian Dable got

(04:10):
fired as Giants head coach today. Can't say I blame
the Giants, right, Dable. It's just time after time after
time of Dable and the Giants falling short. The blown
lead in Denver four blown fourth quarter leads this year.
The tipping point was not going for it on fourth
and one yesterday against the Bears, and that coming back
to haunt them in a loss. The Giants had decided
that's enough and we're moving on right now. Mike Kafka

(04:33):
for a Northwestern Star. Yeah, will five hundred plus yards
in a bowl game against Auburn. It was a loss,
but TJ clearly the Giants hoping under Kafka the offense
will undergo a metamorphosis as they continue on. TJ. Well
done for the well read out there, you got that.
If not, just let it go. You know he did

(04:56):
lose the Syracuse that year, Yeah, yeah, thirty seven. Then
he's disqualified that. That is a tough thing to look
back at the calendar, Syracuse. You're out, Yeah, well, and
you also don't want to yell at the head coach
on the way out, because he may wind up yelling
at you and and and getting fined for out of

(05:17):
pocket gestures. Yeah, we can't even say what the coach
said to a fan as he was leaving, he wanted
to no, I mean, I like hot take nonsense and
that works. But no, no, no, this is FCC non compliancy.
So hopefully the networks figure out their NFL football a
slump again and because boy, this is not a great week. No,

(05:40):
it's okay. But with Dable being fired, right, Mike Kafka
takes over, and it's not like he's suddenly going to
start winning a bunch of games. The Giants, as as
good as Jackson Dart is, they're just not good enough. Right,
But let me throw this to who are they going
to get? Right? This is gonna be probably the best
opening of the offseason because you're in a position to succeed. Right.

(06:01):
It's a you are a coming into a situation where
a young quarterback who is terrific. You have a young
running back who's a leader, who will come back from
injury camp scattabuoy. You have Molik Neighbors, one of the
best young wide receivers. You have some big time talent.
You have a really good defensive lineup Duel Carter. It's
New York like all of a sudden, the Giants. This
is a great opening, and it's I don't know that

(06:21):
you're gonna get a better opening because you want to
come in with a quarterback to be able to succeed.
You see the success Ben Johnson's having coming in as
from former OC with the Lions. How things are going
now with Caleb Williams? Right, we talked about a few
minutes ago, Caleb Williams. Really you want to talk about
Matthew Stafford and Drake May. Caleb Williams might be more
than those guys for MVP. I like him fifty one.

(06:42):
Come on, think about what he's done right, and it's
worked out, This relationship has worked. You have now doomed
my second half of my bear set. Oh Caleb Williams
can't find receiver at all? He still has it completed
a pass justin fields with better stats than Caleb Williams.
Remember after week one and two when everybody said it
wouldn't work. Yeah, here we are. But let me throw

(07:04):
this out here because you want to know a name
and we'll be the first one because then people can
steal this for tomorrow. Is that the name of the
guy that I thought of right away that I said, Okay,
what do we got here? You have a young quarterback
a year out of college who continues to be the
guy you need to mold. You don't need to worry

(07:24):
about drafting anything else that's getting him help. The quarterback
is the number one thing, right That's all you need
to worry about. Quarterback quoter. You have a franchise quarterback
in an offensive minded head coach that cuts out half
the candidates. Do you want the next up and coming
young offensive coordinator. Yeah, and theory, but he's got to
be out there, and I don't know that there's that

(07:45):
guy out there right I don't know that there's another
Ben Johnson out there right now. This would also work
because it would get his current situation to a place
of being resolved. What about this, a guy with an
incredible quarterback track record, multiple Heisman Trophy winners, Lincoln Riley,

(08:09):
head coach New York Giants. Think about think about for
a second what he did at Oklahoma getting to USC
coaching Caleb Williams to a Heisman Trophy. Caleb Williams is
pretty terrific so far. Guys he has coached have been
really good. He was on the NFL radar a couple
of years ago. Instead of staying in college instead of

(08:30):
staying where he was. I want to go to USC.
Right got the one hundred million dollar contract, all the
big cash. It is not work great at USC. But
one thing we have seen offensively, they've gone from Heisman
Trophy Caleb Williams, now you have Ja Maiva who could
wind up being a Heisman Trophy finalist. The offense has
been pretty good. Has it worked for him in LA

(08:53):
It is not. And maybe it's unrealistic expectations, but when
you get one hundred million dollars and a plane, people
expect certain expect you to get to the playoff. It's
not been a disaster, but it's not worked either. So USC,
I am sure would be okay with saying, yeah, let's
move on. Maybe we have to pay out as much
if this is something that happens. He goes calling to

(09:14):
the NFL. Let's see how this really winds up going.
And if you're the Giants, we want to make sure
we have an NFL ready head coach who can come in,
can relate to our young quarterback who's pretty headstrong and
is Baker Mayfield with a more talented and more mobile
Baker Mayfield. Of all the ways you can go, remember

(09:35):
he was on the radar a couple of years ago
to the left Oklahoma for USC. Lincoln Riley get you
out of things if you're USC, and maybe there's some
kind of money situation they can figure out where hey,
we're not paying out the rest of your payout, but
us he can print money, so it's okay, we can
figure this out if the giants come calling. Because I'll
tell you what, that's one of my first phone calls

(09:56):
from the giants too. Who do we want to come in?
That I know as a track record with Quarter That
could be someone that jumping into New York has handled
the big firestorm. Lincoln Riley, Well, certainly USC has had
their share of lawsuits that they've had to navigate through
the years as well. In addition to whatever is left
on that rumored one hundred million dollars like when John

(10:18):
Gruden had the one hundred million dollar deal, Like I
really wanted to see the actual PaperWorks, like is it really?

Speaker 2 (10:23):
Is it really?

Speaker 1 (10:24):
Are there a bunch of contingencies? I don't know, but
I'm curious to see. And I like the cut of
your gym right, it's bold. Mayava has been great in
spots the backup quarterback clearly can throw a pass high,
Jersey gate, all of those things that come through. Yeah,
that that play that they used against Northwestern suddenly getting

(10:45):
apologies from the Conference office and the officiating for the
chicanery there. But you know, he has navigated through a
lot of fires. He's not been fired on the tarmac
just yet. My ava has been solid. Seventeen and six
touchdown to interception ratio, well over two thousand passing yards.

(11:08):
And you look, they they've had some clean games of
late and they're still in the mix right at two
losses there, They're still potentially there to make some noise.
Still a couple of spots on the schedule to navigate.
But it is curious, right because Lane Kiffin's name has
been linked to every job and he's only going to

(11:29):
get one of them, and literally got linked here immediately.
So he falls off the list on one of these
would be futures and to the high as bidder they go.
But the thing is he was a disaster the first
time around. I mean it was the Raiders, so real
UNI position to succeed, but it was disaster. The obviously
knows Jackson Dart very well. You know, you have that sure.

(11:50):
What I'm curious and I'll just leave it here, is
that you've got Mike Kafka in place, a guy who
has been in Buffalo, a guy who's been in Kansas
City and has been waiting for a chance. Right He's
been a finalists several times. And as much as everybody
wants say, hey, Brian Dabele, well what did kaff could
do with Jackson Dart to make him the quarterback that
he is right now? It's like presumed it was all dable,

(12:13):
So all of a sudden, he's just gonna get hired.
Where like, no, no, no, I think kefk has got something
to say about this, Like Dabel's gonna come out and
say it was Kafka wanted to kick the field goal.
You know what for me from a half yard out?
He said, kick a coach, it's his offense that like
he didn't run. Look, I wanted to save him because
I ran into the blue tent. Did you see Kafka
going in there?

Speaker 3 (12:33):
No?

Speaker 1 (12:33):
You saw me.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
No.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
It's one of those where he's got a second half
to audition. Now is he dealing with in an inferior
roster at this point? Right in and out of the lineup.
Thomas has been hurt, but an offensive line that you've
pieced together, the running back position between Tracy and Singletary certainly,
is it the same as Scatabo and you're leading receivers Wandale. Okay, fine,

(12:58):
but you go and you make what you can of it,
so long as Jackson Dart is able to do so.
Because that's been the hard part is sometimes guy's got
to find out you know where those limits are, and
you're not a linebacker, and you're not Cam Scattabo, he's out.
You don't get to run through people. Because we watched
him do one of those Nelson Monts Simpson's football things

(13:18):
several weeks ago where he could have avoided the would
be tackler. No, he ran straight at his ass, like
what are you doing? You're a quarterback. Lived to see
another day. But Kafka is a guy that I think
has a seven game audition here to see what he does.
But yeah, Lincoln Riley certainly there. Mike McCarthy's name has
come up. Some of the old NFL standby retreads are

(13:40):
certainly maybe Joe Brady out of Buffalo gets a shot
at a head gig. We'll see just think Lincoln Riley
his youthful new face NFL Jackson Dart because that's the
type of situation you have where two leaders in Dart
and skytted. We want to say, Blake you let's fight

(14:01):
like that's what these guys are about. We'll fight right now,
Let's do it. Is this where Sean McBride goes, Hey,
it'll solve our salary cap problem although it's usc and
the buyout question. Yeah, well that's why you can. It'll
solve her. You want to come to you, We can
make it work. We can figure out a buy out,
some sort of thing to get you going to be
the head coach. You want to leave, Maybe you take
less money the giants want you. Yuh. Money can be

(14:22):
the money can always be figured out. I can I
just say this, why the hell is Joe Shane? There?
Trade deadlines done. We don't need you anymore. Someone else
can navigate that exit out out of Fresca exit swalling
down The Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon,
creeping up on a minute left to go on Monday
Night Football, the Eagles clinging to a three point lead.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
You may say Nick Sirianni is stupid. You may say
Nick Sirianni doesn't know what he's doing. I will say,
Nick Sirianni just said, you know what, We've had an
awful game. I want to make an interesting IBN stupid
like a Fox Eagles and Packers. It is over and
thankfully at the end we have some crazy stuff to

(16:05):
talk about, right Now, this game was terrible from the beginning. Yeah,
never got good. It was just close. Eagles have the
football with a ten to seven lead and they're facing
a fourth and four from the Packers thirty eight yard line, right, obviously,
Well they're gonna punt, right, or they're gonna kick a

(16:27):
field goal. It's a fifty five yard it's a long one.
Do you want to kick it for fifty two yards
in Green Bay? That's tough. If we miss it, we
give them the ball here. But with you know, we
we're sitting here with thirty seconds left on the clock,

(16:47):
all right, you know we need to do We need
to go for it on fourth down. So instead of punting,
which is gonna give the ball back to the Packers
with a out thirty seconds left, poocha pon coffee somewhere
inside the twenty yard line. The Packers have no timeouts left.

(17:09):
Good luck getting down the field for a field goal.
Or we're gonna kick a field goal and make it,
and then the Packers have to worry about getting the
length of the field in twenty seconds and that's not
gonna happen either, any one of those things. But Nick
Sirianni decides We're gonna go for it on fourth and
six from the Packers thirty five and they throw a

(17:32):
fade down the sideline for AJ Brown. I know, I
do say. AJ Brown is like, what are you doing? Yes,
they throw it deep down this AJ Brown is one
on one coverage. The pass is never close. So now
the Packers get the ball at their own thirty five
yard line with thirty three seconds left. With they're just

(17:53):
under thirty seconds left to go. This is not very
far for them to kick a field goal right in time.
And now I'm saying, oh, man, people are gonna hate
Nick Sirianni because that decision was stupid. And I'm not
saying it wasn't stupid, because it was stupid. But man,
he's now made this game interesting. Football fans everywhere saying,
ah wait, I'll put my beard down, I'll watch the
end of the game. Now things are pretty interesting. You

(18:14):
and I just looked at each other said thanks, let's go,
let's go. Let's go.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
Let's go.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
Well, twenty seven seconds left, this is a bad play
call by the Packers. Jordan Love throws an incomplete pass
deep to Christian Watson, so that takes it down to
twenty seconds. You had some time to get a couple
of plays up there because you're trying for a field
at this point. This is one of those Hey, I'm
scrambling around and just throwing it up, you know, forty

(18:39):
yards downfield. Then Love completes one to Melton that gets
the Philadelphia forty six yard line for eighteen yards. They
spike the football with six seconds left or five seconds left.
So now this is a pretty long field goal, right,
it's a pretty long field goal because you're talking about
a sixty three yarder. So mcmannus comes out to try

(19:00):
the field goal. Okay, six seconds left, but with the
Eagles running on, running guys on and off, the Packers decide, well,
we're gonna try to kick this field goal here. While
stuff is going on, the Eagles call timeout and McManus
tries the field goal anyway, and he just misses. It
goes under the crossbar. The Eagles are screaming, you can't

(19:24):
do that, you can't do that. But pretty much the
Eagles call the time out, and he just went and
kicked it just to see if he could make it.
Obviously he couldn't make it, so he comes back off
the field. Now Eagles get the time out, so five
seconds left, the Packers are gonna try to get a
little bit close, a couple of yards closer, and Jordan
Love air mails a pass three yards to do on

(19:45):
Tavian Wicks that goes over his head out of bounds.
Would have been about a three yard gain that maybe
he could have given McMahons a chance to make the
field goal. But it's incomplete. Okay, so now what do
you do. We're gonna go back and kick the field Yeah,
all right, So now McManus comes back out, except the
field goal is no good. It's not even close. It's
off to the left. It might have got tipped, and

(20:07):
the Eagles win it ten to seven. Well, it was
exciting late.

Speaker 3 (20:12):
You know.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
We just needed the last twenty seven seconds today. We
didn't need the first fifty nine minutes and thirty. We
needed Nick Sirianni deciding I'm going to go for it
on fourth and sixth or thirty five yard line and
if we don't get it, oh, by the way, I
opened the door for the Packers to tie this game.
It's the rare inverse Hollywood issue, right, Normally the first
two acts A lot of movies I see I love,

(20:35):
and then they can't close it right, they can't land it,
whereas here we got the finish. It's just the rest
of it sucked. The build up's like, hey, could you
go back and rewrite the rest of it because whatever
you were thinking about, if you wrote the ending, it
really worked. Now backtrack because this was just fascinating that
final thirty plus seconds on both sides in terms of

(20:56):
the down distance and what they're calling. You issue the
fifty yard feet goal fifty two, you know, to jump,
you have that fade to Brown where if you were
trying to get Valentine to intercept it at the two,
which maybe you were, I don't know, you were trying
to great get he never looks for the ball, but
it falls incomplete and the turnover on downs, the pass

(21:19):
to Chrisia Watson takes a bunch of time off in
the double coverage. Safety just comes up and probably should
have intercepted the ball and that should have been the
game right there. Instead we get the next and you
talk about the play to Wicks, I mean that's about
getting him killed. I mean that's a you know, John
Wick kind of maneuver, Like hey watch this, I'm gonna
have them guy get absolutely tattooed by the cornerback coming

(21:41):
up to play this ball. And mcmahonus for his career
fifty of eighty eight from kicks beyond fifty yards, career
long of sixty one, right that green line that they
put out there. Oh, how enticing that was. And oll know,
not even close in the final throws of it. Nick
Sirianni again crazy like a fox. Wait wait this just

(22:02):
came in. Hang on, hang on, yeah, I got a text.
Brian Dable says that was the right thing to do.
Throw it deep, throw thro deep. I mean you would
have had better odds. I mean, what are they How
many times can they do the touchbush for at least
six yards? Yeah? How many times? As Jalen Hurt said,
And that's what they should have busted out there because
it would have run clock. They had no timeouts, I
mean turnover on downs, but you keep the legs churning,

(22:23):
you might grind it down another ten yards even if
you didn't get the first I mean or ten seconds.
I should say, even if you didn't get the first,
you should have done that. Since again that was one
of the build up plays right all off season. Oh,
the Packers were the ones that the NFL cajoled for
the toush Bush run it there. Well, you know the
thing is the Packers' mistakes in the final couple of plays. Okay,

(22:45):
but Nick Sirianti decided, I'm okay with opening the door
for the Packers to tie this h I'm gonna go
for it. And it's not like I'm gonna go for
it on a play where we can get seven yards.
I can go across over the middle, I can throw
to Dallas Goddard. No, no, no, I'm gonna go one
on one of fifty to fifty play down the sideline

(23:06):
to AJ Brown like that. But it was for A. J.
Brown to be the hero. It was his hero story
that he decided. No, I'm not taking it. I don't
like the play call is even worse. It's going Hey, AJ,
we called it for you. You gotta make that point. Hey,
we gave you a chance to be the hero. Can
close this game off. He's gonna say, you was serious

(23:27):
about that play call. I thought he was kidding in
the huddle. I thought he was You're gonna.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
Throw it down?

Speaker 1 (23:32):
Okay, sure, all right, Yeah, it's not really gonna happen, Dory,
he actually threw it to me. Now it's not gonna
happen like that. That makes sense on no levels, right,
Going for it is a bad decision. I get that there.
Your decisions are trying to kick the field goal. Yeah,
it's dicey right, you're kicking in Green Bay, it's cold
at night. Fifty three yarder. If you miss, you really

(23:55):
give the Packers a chance to get in place to
kick the field goal, and then it's the forty two
right with the place that no matter what, it's all
the Packers are going to have time for is to
kick a field goal. So you don't want to give
them any more chance than you have to, all right,
So with less with twenty five secondsish on the club,
you punt it. That's gonna take the clock down of

(24:16):
twenty five probably no matter what. You pooch it a
little bit, and the packer is gonna have to go
probably forty yards to get the field goal. Are you
going forty yards in twenty four ish seconds? You didn't
go forty yards and you were and a half. You
can you can make one play to the middle of
the field and then you have to spike it and

(24:38):
then you have to go sideline for another twenty yards,
like that's not gonna happen. Punting was the right call.
Punting is absolutely the right call. But only does he
not do that knowes he go for it? He goes
for it on a fifty to fifty play. This is
why I hate the fade, right, Why I tell you
the faith sucks? Right, I've told you for a year
you hate bunting in the fade. Punting in the fade.
If we don't know what else is on the metal stand,

(24:59):
there's got be a third thing there. But years if
to anybody who's stolen my take on hating the fade,
you know I've had that first. It's a fifty to
fifty play, right, So you what you've told the defense
is that, Hey, here we are on fourth and sixth.
What are you gonna do? What are you gonna do?

Speaker 3 (25:12):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (25:12):
We got DeVante Smith to worry about. If AJ Brown
is not reading on the sideline, we have AJ Brown,
We have Dallas Goddard. You know, Jalen Hurts could scramble
Barkley out of the backfield. We got all these things
to worry about. No, no, no, we're gonna throw it up
one on one to aj Brown, really yes, and hope
that he catches it. Like that play call, why would
you do anything? Would you turn that into a fifty

(25:32):
to fifty play? Don't. I don't get any that on
any level. So that's the worst thing you could get it,
so you get like the Packers are. Maybe that's why
the Packers had stunning play calls at the end, because
they're like, wait, we're getting the ball back. Hey guys, Hey, hey,
turn the lights back on in the booth. Hey, get
get all the offensive coaches back. If we got the
ball back. Oh, sorry, coach. I was on my way

(25:53):
down for handshakes. I didn't know. Want to get back
in here. I'm putting my head set on. What are
we Let's run sixty five toss power trap. No, we
can't do that. That's a running play. Let's just you know.
I'm sorry, coach. I'm sorry. Let me open my bell.
How much time do we have? We don't have any time.

Speaker 2 (26:05):
I'm sorry. It was coming down.

Speaker 1 (26:06):
He was in the.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
Elevator for the handshakes.

Speaker 1 (26:08):
I didn't know that.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
He didn't know we're getting the ball back.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
They know, Nick Sirian. He was gonna be that stupid,
but apparently Nick Sirianni is well, he's a winner. I
can't wait for his post. This is gonna be great
or least he just said, Big Dom out there to
intimidate folks. You're not gonna ask any questions about that?
Uh no, no, I would put he needs to put
big Dumb standing next to him. Where where the guy?
Where the person can ask a question? And he turns

(26:30):
a Big Dom and Big Dom just either gives a
quick nod or shakes his head and the next person asks.
Then the hand comes up and he starts pointing, coach,
what the hell were you thinking on that last play?
Were you trying to get fired? And then Syriana looks
at Big Dom. Big Dom's can shakes. Is it okay?
Next question? Uh? Okay, coach? Is there a question I
can ask you to get an answer from? He looks

(26:51):
at Big Dob. Big Dom just shakes.

Speaker 3 (26:53):
Is it? No?

Speaker 2 (26:53):
All right?

Speaker 1 (26:53):
This press conference is over all right? Coach is done.
He came out here, you can't find him. He came
out here and stood here, but he's not gonna answer questions.

Speaker 3 (26:59):
Now.

Speaker 1 (27:00):
Now let me ask this, you know, without staring at
the box score. I have the number in front of me.
What did you think A. J. Brown had done to
that point in the game. AJ Brown? Uh, no, targets,
no catches, A little better than that. Six targets. Yeah,
two catches. I saw catch one pass early thirteen yard. Yeah,
you could call one pass early and there it was

(27:21):
for the dagger. Yeah. AJ Brown, go get it. I
mean I gotta imagine he's got some thoughts on the
player selection as well. I mean, I think he just
was running a wind sprint to get the balls, never
coming back that way. I mean really, I mean, you're
not You're not gonna throw it to me. They're not
gonna throw it like like the defense is going, Yeah,
you're not getting nothing on this play. AJ Doug. Guys,

(27:42):
they're not thrown. I'm going long on this play. I'm
the you go long guy. Okay, I don't get the
passes anymore. I'm the guy who was in the bad
news bearers going I'm hitting that guy back up. I'm
the guy in the huddle. They just say, you go long,
you go along, you go long, and then he drops.
Oh my god, they threw it to me, guys. I
swear to god, I didn't know. I swear to God,
I didn't know. I didn't know they were throwing the
ball to me. I really didn't. I said, I mean,

(28:04):
you know, you want to take their dignity and their soul.
Should have run the tush push on fourth and seven,
exit up out a Fresca exit, swalling down The Jason
Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon Tom how
to find out what's trending in the wide world of sports.
MC guy who's been called the AJ Brown of Fox
Sports Radio because he was also surprised that last pass

(28:25):
was going to him. Oh it's Steve de Sager. Hold On,
I'm reading here. He's gonna say, voracious readers, you.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
Heard correctly.

Speaker 4 (28:33):
It was not a good night for the NFL. We
had some great NBA I'll get to in a moment.
But the Monday night football matchup at Green Bay in
about thirty degree weather, well, it was bad and it
really had nothing to do with the weather. Philadelphia ten
to seven the final Jalen Hurts one touchdown, pass, one fumble,
Saquon Barkley twenty two carries sixty yards. He did have
three catches for forty one in the first half, a

(28:56):
total of seven pounds, seven penalties. Eagles led three nothing
early fourth quarter Josh Jacobs in defeat, one touchdown, run,
one fumble, one hundred and seven total yards. The Giants
fired coach Brian Dable, but general manager Joe Shane stays.
Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson could miss at least three
to four weeks with a spray knee. Denver linebacker Alex

(29:18):
Singleton played last Thursday night, then had surgery on Friday
for testicular cancer to have a tumor removed. Commander's defensive
lineman to Ron Payne was suspended one game for throwing
a punch yesterday.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
To the NBA.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
The late games at halftime in La, Clippers tied with
Atlanta fifty two all. As for the other contests, they're
all final, including wins for Minnesota, Phoenix, and Milwaukee, which
won at Dallas one sixteen one fourteen Jannisontenacumpo thirty points.
Dallas Mavericks missed two late free throws. They're now three
to eight. San Antonio eight and two after winning a

(29:52):
close one at Chicago one twenty one one seventeen. Josh
Giddey of the Bulls was out with a sprained ankle.
Victor wembin Yama thirty eight points. It's in the win.
Miami in overtime edge Cleveland one forty to one, thirty
eight on an alley oop dunk at the buzzer. Orlando
won on a three pointer at the buzzer one fifteen,
one twelve over Portland Detroit in overtime edge. Washington won

(30:15):
thirty seven, one thirty five. Cad Cunningham for his forty
six points fourteen of forty five shooting from the floor. Apparently.
Missing thirty one shots in one NBA game is the
record since the merger with the ABA sixty years.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
Record setting night. Let's go Alan Iverson never missed more
shots in a game. Maybe practice.

Speaker 4 (30:40):
You're talking about.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
Practice, not a game, not in a game.

Speaker 4 (30:44):
A game, A thirty one misses by one player. I mean,
you talk about guys that are unconscious. You have no
conscience if you are continuing to put it up after
thirty misses.

Speaker 2 (30:58):
He's due.

Speaker 1 (30:59):
But I'm the guy. I'm the man on this, okay.

Speaker 4 (31:02):
Lakers got thirty eight points from Luca Donzich and one
at Charlotte one twenty one one eleven. Lakers record eight
and three Austin Reeves of LA returned after a string
groin had seventeen points first half twenty four for the game.
The new number one team and men's college basketball is Houston.
Purdue dropped to number two despite having more first place votes.

(31:22):
There was a game on in fact, a double header
of college hoops on FS one.

Speaker 1 (31:27):
Tonight.

Speaker 4 (31:28):
We had a women's game going on right now. That's
a halftime in Sacramento Top ten matchup. UCLA leads Oklahoma
forty one to thirty six. In the NHL, Edmonton has
won in overtime against Columbus. Islanders won in overtime at
New Jersey. The Rangers actually scored tonight six' three the
final Over, nashville and late second The panthers lead At

(31:50):
vegas to. Nothing The American League rookie of The Year
Nick kurtz of The a's it was. Unanimous his teammate
Shortstop Jacob wilson finished. Second the Nationally rookie of The
year Is brace Catcher Drake baldwin and Former cubs Pitcher
kyle hendricks is. Retiring back to, You.

Air so The packers fail at the. END i so
Wanted packers took a field goal and stick it To
Nick sirianni who makes that ridiculously bad decision to go
for it on fourth down with thirty seconds left in the.
GAME i just wanted another, tie but, yeah because we

(33:45):
know he would have gotten a. Tie ten ten into ten,
ten get to, tie second tie for The packers, selfishly
not only as as a talk show host WHERE i
mean it's fun fodder mocking the execution in those final,
minutes but obviously Being, shagai go Get bears. Guy then
they have a soccer team, record, well we started five
to five and two this. Year it's not quite the

(34:05):
stought we, expected but a couple of, draws especially In.
Northampton then we had to draw A wrexham before they
became who they are with all the. Signings we're very
excited to be where we are right now at five
to five and. Two it's all ahead of us right.
Now Ted lasso start the season with seven. STRAIGHT i
don't Why i've had the ties happen all the, time but,

(34:27):
look this is WHY i say about The, eagles no
matter how good things are, going they always seem to
have one foot on the banana peel at all. Times
everything is, great but one foot's on the banana. Peel
Nick sirianni almost gave the game away by deciding to
go for it instead of, punting kicking a field, goal.
Whatever the only thing that was the bad decision was

(34:47):
going forward on fourth down with thirty seconds left and
throwing a deep, pass a fifty to fifty ball to
Aj brown. Right that was absolutely terrible and it put
tying the, game potentially losing it back on the table.
Right if nothing, else just on the, ball like punting,
obviously option one, kick field, goal a little, dangerous, whatever
but just. Chaos and this is why WHEN i think

(35:09):
about these three quote, CONTENDERS i can't trust any of.
Them AND i believe in other teams, contend especially in THE.
NFC i believe in The rams, MORE i believe in
The seahawks. More BUT i can't trust The eagles and
The packers and The. Lions, okay three of the teams we, Thought,
hey they their team's going to the super. RUN i
trust The bears right now more THAN i trust some

(35:31):
of these. Teams The, bears but The packers as we've.
Seen hey are The eagles as we've seen look at
how they played? Tonight? Right The eagles can give you
a stinker at any, time and not only, that you
have the head coach, Decided, Hey i'm gonna work subversively against.
Us the same thing with The packers even more. Often
they give you. Stinkers how do you lose at home

(35:53):
to The, panthers especially after what we've seen out of
them a Couple, hey they're a five hundred, team, right
how do? YOU i? Mean? Really The packers can give you,
stinker and The lions can give you what they can give.
You the thing is The. Lions they can look great
for three weeks and then he give you a game
where it's, like oh, my did you guys even practice this?
Week the fact that all three of these teams can
give you these bad games this often is what makes

(36:15):
me not be able to trust. THEM i get a
couple of times a, year a contending team is gonna
have a bad week and you're gonna play a game
against a team that maybe is not quite as good
as you are and you're a little bit flat or
whatever matchup the other team is able to take advantage.
OF i get that happens to a team a couple
of times a. Year, right it's a long. Season you've
added the week now with seventeen. WEEKS i understand. THAT

(36:37):
i get that that's gonna. Happen but for The eagles
and The packers and The, LIONS i can point to
like three times so far for each team WHERE i can,
say what the hell was this game? About how did
you lose this? Game you had no business? Losing and
that happens way too, often way too. Often doesn't happen
as often for The, rams doesn't happen as often for The,
seahawks doesn't happen quite as often for The. Bears they've

(36:59):
put all at least The bears that are early in the,
season and now the last few weeks they've been, really really.
Good But i've NOT i mean even team like The, bucks, like,
hey they should have come, out this should have been
a big win, Yesterday they're coming off a, bye they're
playing at. Home this is a difficult thing For New
england to come down and play In New zeland winds
up winning this football. Game so, yeah there's not many
teams in THE NFC i can, trust not even THE,

(37:20):
afc but these teams all fall into that category OF
i cannot trust them because they can give you a
stinker at any, time and especially when you have coaching
decisions like. This, okay that's gonna make it even more
difficult to trust. You, WELL i THINK i would put
The lions. IN i Know i'm at least getting a game,
effort right because going back except For week one Against Green,

(37:42):
bay new, coordinators all of that fun stuff where they
lost that. Game otherwise it's a game Against Kansas, City
fine In Kansas, City sunday night, football all that. Stuff
and then you lose a twenty seven to twenty four
game to The vikings when you're scoring thirty points a
game and you can still rattle of some of those big.
Efforts and now That Dan campbell has the glasses on

(38:03):
and he's taken over play calling and he's giving himself fist,
bumps and you, know thrusting the arm like He's Tiger
woods on A sunday back of the day before the play's,
called because he knows it's gonna be a big. Game
i'll take my shot with. Them but the other two, teams,
Absolutely we've seen The Green bay offense sputter with great,
regularity and they only go as far As Josh jacobs's

(38:25):
legs are gonna carry. Him Jordan love has been a middling.
Quarterback occasionally you make a big, play but all those
graphics that celebrated the. MEDIOCRITY, ii we don't have a number.
One look how well he spreads the ball. Around that's
the problem right. Now you don't have a guy that you.
Trust Christian. Watson let's take a shot with him. Downfield
he had two catches for forty five. Yards, right you're

(38:47):
not hitting on that big play to your, point you,
know looking at that the rest of THE. NFC i
trust what The rams And seahawks have and that Includes
sam Darr, Like i'll take my shot now you Add
Rashid shahe that defense is playing lights out. Football The
rams their only problem has been special. Teams so as
long as that doesn't come into play late in the,

(39:07):
GAME i feel pretty good about their offense and. Defense
special team still on. Enigma but, YEAH i mean THE,
afc forget, it all bets are off. There, look but
that's the other part of this is that you have
to be able to move the football and score points to.
Win and it's not JUST i can't trust them because
it come up with, stinkers because that's a big part of.
It but look at the two teams, tonight, Right packers And.

(39:28):
Eagles they still struggle way too much throwing the. Football,
now for The, eagles part of it is we'll relied
On barkley last. Year and, Look i've told you for
a long. Time barkley's not gonna have that. Year he
had seven thousand touches last. Year it's not gonna. Happen
they haven't figured it. Out Jordan, love as good a
quarterback as he, is all the big deep wide receivers he,
has they can't throw the. Football you look at the

(39:50):
TEAMS i, TRUST i, know you Know la can throw the.
Football you Know seattle can throw the. Football they. Can't
for two teams that are supposed to be so good
with their offense is so, good they struggle so much
to score points and to be dynamic up and down the.
Field it's, LIKE i feel Like i'm watching a limited
team that knows going into the, Season, okay we don't
have the. Horses we're gonna run the football a ton

(40:12):
and try to win every game sixteen to. Ten, Right
that's kind of WHAT i see WHEN i see The
eagles in the. Package, well it's funny because The eagles
going in and again it's The, giants but it's a divisional.
Game we've talked about that defensive. Front that was the
first hundred yard game For Saquon barkley this, year so it's, Like,
okay you've kind of limited his. Touches the offense hasn't
quite gotten. Going so during the bye, week everybody's, ready everybody's,

(40:34):
healthy And Lane johnson battled back into the, game but
thought this might be a jumping off. Point even though
The packers were a top five team against the, run
clearly still a. Problem exit about A fresca exit swelling
down The Jason Smith show with my best Friend Mike.
Harmon so with all these teams playing so, bad did
they have the worst week of anybody in THE? Nfl?

(40:54):
Oh not even. Close that story's next
