The brain drain appears to be well and truly underway. 
A revised Kiwibank forecast suggests the number of people leaving the country will outnumber the number of people moving here by 20,000 this year. 
The net emigration is expected to match levels seen during the Australian mining boom a decade ago. 
Kiwibank Chief Economist Jarrod Kerr told Mike Hosking it's likely to be those who've been longing to get out of the country since before the pandemic.
