The Prime Minister’s hours away from the biggest meeting of his career.

Hipkins will hold talks with China’s President Xi Jinping tonight- and and says he has a number of issues to raise.

ZB senior political correspondent Barry Soper says the main focus of Chris Hipkins' meeting with Xi Jinping will be trade.

"The main thing about this trip, unlike Jacinda Ardern's trip four years ago, this is a trade mission. 29 members on this trade mission was quoted this morning."
