The Huddle: David Clark falls as Simon Bridges rises

Heather du Plessis-Allan Drive

Simon Bridges has found his footing after being rolled as National Party leader - now standing 17th in the party rankings.
The Party's had a minor shadow Cabinet Caucus reshuffle, because of Paula Bennett's departure.
Bridges takes Dr Shane Reti's spot, after he was shifted up into Bennett's place at number 13 - making Reti the highest ranked Maori MP.
Party leader Todd Muller says Bridges is a fantastic contributor to the Caucus - and will take the Foreign Affairs portfolio.
He says Bridges made it clear he still wanted to be in politics and contest to be Tauranga MP.
It was the opposite for David Clark, who, after three years in the job, resigned from his role as Health Minister.
Clark says it's an appropriate time to stand aside, after making personal mistakes during the level four lockdown.
He doesn't want to be a distraction to the Government's response to Covid-19.
Clark intends to stand for the Dunedin North seat again in September.
Listen to Shane Te Pou and Tim Beveridge join Heather du Plessis-Allan on The Huddle to discuss these and the rest of the day's news.
