The leader of the National Party has come out against lowering the voting age to 16.
Justice Minister Kris Faafoi's announced a review of the electoral law that will include discussing the voting age.
The independent panel will also assess other election rules - with changes planned before next year's election.
Christopher Luxon told John MacDonald on Newstalk ZB Canterbury Mornings he's looking forward to the panel's recommendations on changing the voting age.
He says while he doesn't support lowering the age, he'll discuss the issue further once the panel's views are released.
