The state of New Zealand's general practices is being dubbed a crisis.
A GP Owners Association survey of about a quarter of GPs reports they're being squeezed by rising costs, high patient demand, and staff shortages.
It found nearly 60% have doctor and nurse vacancies, and about 70% are financially worse off than a year ago.
Chair Angus Chambers told Ryan Bridge that Government funding doesn't keep pace with running costs.
He says the Government must urgently overhaul the out-of-date funding model.
