Med delirium menas ett tillstånd av bland annat förvirring, hallucinationer och förändrat beteende. Detta tillstånd gör att barn ofta beter sig annorlunda än vanligt och kan reagera konstigt på sin omgivning, och på människor omkring dem.
Vad är det då som utlöser ett delirium? Vilka är symtomen? Är det farligt? Hur skall jag som föräldrar agera om detta händer mitt barn?
Vi har bjudit in intensivvårdssjuksköterskan Sara Åkerman för att ge oss klarhet om delirium hos barn. Sara som är doktorand vid institutionen för kirurgiska vetenskaper
vid Uppsala universitet, och väl insatt i ämnet. Ett viktigt avsnitt för oss alla som vill förstå mer om barns hälsa vid lätt- och svår sjukdom.
