What is your initial reaction when you hear the word “SHAME”? How does that word make you feel? For many of us, “shame” is a bad word, and we would rather avoid it than talk about it. In this episode, Dr. Shawn Horn enlightens us about a different way to approach shame. Instead of cowering away from shame, she instead invites us to approach it with curiosity. She teaches us about the differences between healthy and unhealthy shame and how the latter is a core root of many of our emotional and behavioural struggles. Dr. Horn talks about how a better understanding of our own shame experiences can help us improve our relationship with ourselves, as well as with those around us.
