Gina Riley, Ph.D. is an educational psychologist, Clinical Professor, and Program Coordinator of the Adolescent Special Education program at CUNY - Hunter College. Dr. Riley has over fifteen years experience working with teens with learning disabilities and emotional and behavioral disorders. Her research interests include intrinsic motivation, Self Determination Theory, Cognitive Evaluation Theory, homeschooling, unschooling, and other alternative learning environments. Dr. Riley also has extensive experience in online education and distance learning at the college/university level. Dr. Riley's first book, Unschooling: Exploring Learning Beyond the Classroom, will be published by Palgrave Macmillan in the Fall of 2020.
