(00:59):
And
as we tune into the quality living show
with peaceful support,
we find different ways to
bring exactly
that.
That being quality living
and forms of how do we create it?
Where does it come from?
And for me,
(01:19):
pretty simple. We're different every time I bring
a guest on the show, which we have
a lovely guest in the studio today
and we'll hear all about these answers.
Mostly
we want to again say thank you listeners
and get ready. We have a really stunning
gal in the studio.
Her name is Jen.
(01:40):
Hey, Jen. Hello. How are you? Thank you
so much for having me today.
We, Jen and I just recently met and
it's like, I swear if I'm my new
best friend, I'm pretty excited.
I'm super excited too. Right? There's so much
when you meet somebody that's like just
radiant and just has all these really fun
(02:00):
qualities and does kind of the same things
you do, you know, it's like, yes, there's
people like us out there in the world.
And
so I thought we must bring her on
the Quality Living Show. The listeners have got
to meet her.
Thank you so much for having me. I'm
really excited to be here. Yeah. So tell
us here the
how did you
(02:21):
What is it that,
you do?
Yeah. Well,
so, I actually have a business called Organically
Healed
and
I started this about 4 years ago.
But it has been a work in progress
and it really
has been a part of me pretty much
my entire life. So
(02:42):
I do coaching and I also do equine
therapy
and I also help people who have had
traumas
and different things happen in life.
And I also do hypnotherapy.
So
these are some of my specialties.
But really it's about helping people
heal from the past and get past
(03:03):
things that are blocking them from, you know,
getting what they want, living the life that
they want and
just being happy.
It's so important.
Well, our listeners,
we like to hear how did you find
Brookings or did it find you? You just
take as much time because we really wanna
(03:24):
know, you know, it's a special place. Yeah.
This is kind of a long story, so
I'm gonna have to
abbreviate a little bit. But,
so I'm originally from
Wisconsin. Mhmm. And I love nature. I've always
been an adventure girl.
And
so
for about 9 years before I moved here,
I lived in the San Diego area and
I had a little horse ranch down there
(03:46):
and
had a marketing business and just kind of
was doing life really happy. Mhmm. And back
in
2019,
my entire life changed as I knew it.
I ended up going through
a divorce.
I have 2 kids that are not older.
So at the time, my son was a
(04:07):
senior in high school.
My daughter was 23.
And so going through
this big transition,
I wasn't able to stay in my house
anymore. I had horses. We had a little
ranch. Yeah. I had a marketing business during
this time and
everything really, really
(04:27):
changed. I call it my life purge of
2019.
Oh, yeah.
So I ended up moving out of the
house and it was shortly after that,
it was like everywhere I went, I went
to the grocery store. You know, I would
go to these different places and people would
talk about bookings.
And also, it kept coming up for me
(04:48):
on the computer and I was like, What
is broking? Like, what is this broking's place?
Right?
I didn't think much of it, but it
was just everywhere I went. And so I
was taking that as a sign from the
universe or God or higher power. However you,
however you interpret that.
And so I started doing some research and
(05:08):
obviously this was pre COVID.
So, I was like, well, it looks really
beautiful there,
like really beautiful
and I would love to visit, but
I really had no intention of moving here.
Fast forward a little bit,
I ended up
going through a lot of
traumatic things over the next year.
(05:31):
I was in a car accident.
I had animals pass away.
I had family members pass away. It was
really, really
a turbulent time
in my life. And
so during all of this, of course, COVID
happens.
It ends up kind of squashing my marketing
business.
And so I was just really in this
(05:53):
space of
not knowing what came next,
not knowing
what
what next steps to even take because the
world was shut down with COVID. Yeah. And
so, during this time period,
again, it was like I was on I
would be on Facebook and I had a
friend move to Brookings and she was talking
(06:14):
about the she was talking about this little
piece of heaven that she found. And
so I decided to come here with my
daughter. We went on a a big road
trip and we ended up doing a lot
of camping. We did the whole entire 101
coast down from San Diego all the way
to the very top of Washington.
(06:35):
And
we spent a few days here and I
was like, okay. Well, it's it's beautiful.
I came. I couldn't quite figure it out
and then we left. And so yeah. So
I ended up going
back home and
probably about a year later,
it came up again
(06:56):
and it just again was like it wouldn't
Leave me alone, Brookie. Leave me alone. And
so
I then decided that I was gonna just
come here for 2 months,
spend some time here and try to figure
it out. And so
at the end of that 2 months, I
decided I was gonna move here.
(07:19):
But at the beginning of that 2 months,
what happened was I was so
used
to doing
and not being
Uh-huh. That
I didn't know how to even be here.
And so,
the biggest thing that I learned since I've
been here in Brookings is how to just
(07:40):
slow down. You know, there's no hurry and
Curry as they're saying around here.
But it was such a slow way of
life compared to down in San Diego.
And as it turns out, it was exactly
what I needed
to help regulate my nervous system.
I ended up watching sunsets every night, exploring
(08:01):
nature
and just sitting by the ocean, which is
my happy place. Yeah. And it really, really
was the beginning for me of my healing
journey.
Mhmm.
Mhmm. How special. Yeah.
That's pretty heavenly. And that's, you know, like,
when it's like,
it was screaming and yelling at you the
whole way through as it was.
(08:22):
Right here, open, open,
pick me.
Well, and I think sometimes too, we have
these, you know, these intuitive hits or this
information come to us and we don't wanna
listen to it Oh, yeah. Because it goes
against what we think should be happening.
And so that was the other big lesson
that I learned
since being here, and it's still a practice,
(08:44):
is that
when you let go and you just
follow your heart, follow your intuition,
things have a really, really interesting way of
working themselves out. And I don't believe that
there are any accidents. So Right.
Right. Maybe just,
unforeseen
or not
fully planned or
(09:05):
just designed the way you would have designed
it. It was it's it's all there. Yeah.
It's all ready to happen.
And
where
when so you've been here now how many
years? Two and a half years. Okay. And
have you been to San Diego since? I
have. And what was that like? Oh, it
was interesting.
(09:25):
So my daughter still lives down in the
San Diego area. Okay. I actually went down
a couple of times to visit her. She's
about 25 now? 27. Wow. She is. Yes.
It is. And so, I went down and
it was absolutely
amazing to me
just when you're out of that environment
(09:45):
for a period of time to go back
into it, the stimulation
and the traffic and the and I absolutely
love the San Diego area still.
But going back, there was such a,
it just really, really stimulated my nervous system
and I felt really overwhelmed. And I was
like, Oh my gosh. You know, it was
(10:07):
great to visit, but it was really interesting
because I didn't feel like I wanted to
be down there anymore.
Mhmm. So it's gotcha. Yeah. It did. For
the peacefulness.
The peacefulness.
Mhmm. Yes. That's good. Well, we're we're glad
you're here. And
there's,
while you're here, has your marketing
(10:28):
or yours, your say it again, organic or
organically healed. Organically healed. Yes. Okay. Has that
those picked up or have you put more
had more quality time to put attention to
them or what's where you at with all
this? Yeah. So I have a little bit
of an interesting story with that. When I
got here,
because of everything that I had been through,
(10:50):
I was so burned out and so tired
that I actually put that business on hold
for about a year. Oh. And so, really,
it's been over the last year, I decided
to go back to it. I restarted from
scratch
and really took a look at
what was working, what wasn't,
where I wanted it to go. Mhmm.
(11:10):
And my ultimate dream is to have a
healing ranch
at some point.
And so, anybody that knows me knows that
I have horses. I absolutely
have been in horse a horse person for
quite a while now,
and they're a big part of my coaching.
And so my goal and my dream is
(11:31):
to have a retreat center here
in in the Brookings area. I'm not sure
where it's meant to be yet, but I
do believe that it's here. And that's one
of the reasons why I ended up here.
But I want that to be a place
where people can come heal, come let go
of the past and and regulate the nervous
system and the horses are really big part
(11:51):
of that. So
to answer your question,
over the last several months, I've really been
incorporating
the horses a lot more into my coaching
with the clients.
I do a lot of stuff online and
so you don't have to be here in
Brookings. That's the wonderful thing about
technology.
Yeah.
(12:12):
It works. Yeah. Yeah. But I actually have
a mindfulness
event that is coming up next weekend.
And so I'm starting to do some
local events and things like that as well.
So.
Yeah. That's exciting.
How
can the guest get in contact with you
(12:32):
for your
events or for you said you do the
beep.
You said you to,
how do you call
it? Your healing sessions online. Yeah. So through
Zoom
or through any platform or do you have
(12:52):
one that you prefer? Yeah. So the way
that it works online is I do Zoom
with my clients. And
what that does is it's not, you know,
a 100% the same as doing it in
person, but it's about as close as you
can get. Yeah. Because you can see the
facial expressions and, you know, everything is energy.
And so we can still connect
(13:14):
via video.
So anything online is done
via Zoom. And the best way to find
out more about that would be to go
on my website. I have all the information
on there. It's organicallyhealed.com.
Just like that organicallyhealed.com.
Yes.
And I'm also on all of the social
(13:35):
media.
So TikTok,
YouTube,
Facebook,
Instagram, I'm on all the things and you
can find me on all of those as
organically healed as well. Okay. That's a lot
of time and energy.
It is.
Yes. This is
my passion.
It's my passion. And the reason for that
(13:55):
is because I know
from myself and going through it that it
is possible
to heal
the past.
It's possible to get past these things that
have been holding us back. And sometimes, we
don't realize
that the things that we've gone through in
life
are still present for us in our body.
(14:16):
And so,
we kind of walk through life with these
old outdated patterns and beliefs and this energy
that's being held in our body and and
it really holds us back from living our
best life. And so,
it's become a passion of mine and
to help people heal.
That's
phenomenal and very much welcomed and appreciated here
(14:38):
in Brookings and especially
to our listeners.
It's another channel, another platform here on the
radio to with our podcast here. So listeners,
please do share this information with your friends
and family.
Send them the link. You can go to
kciw.orgforward/qualityliving,
and you can share this episode with them
(15:00):
and all of them, but especially
those who are
ready to let go of that.
I have been through tons of this myself
is how I came to this show and
that's why we're in the same path is
because we do similar work and
I have
a huge part of the process where
(15:23):
with all with a lot of organizations or
a lot of trauma healers or people that
do this type of energy work or that
have gone through it themselves,
there comes a point I,
I I my belief is that there's a
point where, okay,
when is enough enough? Like, we're
not to you know, we are talking about
equine therapy and using a horse, but I'm
(15:45):
gonna say it, but not to beat a
dead horse.
How much trauma do you have to pull
up? How many times do you have to
pull up the same situation? Like, they say
till it's gone. It's like, well, if you
keep pulling it up, when is it ever
gone?
Right? Yeah. I actually don't necessarily agree that
we need to keep rehashing cakes.
So I do it a little bit differently.
(16:06):
You know, I think that there are some
things that,
yes, we need to understand
are part of why we are kind of
where we are right now. Right. And sometimes
those things can be held in the subconscious,
so we don't even realize it. And so
those things
need to be explored.
(16:26):
But I think as far as actual traumas
go,
when you
rehash and relive old traumas, then that actually
taxes your nervous system
even more. Yeah. And your body doesn't know
the difference between something that's real
or in the past
or imagined
or,
(16:46):
you know, when we talk about having anxiety
or worrying about things in the future, your
body registered
all of that as just happening in the
present moment.
And so our minds obviously are able to
distinguish
between all of those things, but your body
and your nervous system actually
cannot. And so
that's one of the ways that the horses
(17:08):
are such an amazing part of this whole
journey for my Clients because
they teach you to really be present in
the moment. Oh, yes.
You have to be. Yeah.
With a horse. And they also have this
amazing way of
syncing up
their heartbeat to yours. And so, they can
(17:28):
actually help you regulate your nervous system.
And so,
some people, some of the listeners might hear
of,
people that have some traumas in the past.
A lot of veterans do work with horses.
A lot of different people,
who have PTSD
have found a lot of benefits with working
with horses. Also, people, that have some different
(17:51):
types of disabilities
because
to summarize it, I mean, there's a lot
of science behind it, but the summary of
it is that the horses are just in
the moment
and they really teach us how to just
be here. Yeah. How to breathe and how
to be
with ourselves. And
that's really what it comes down to. I'm
so glad to hear that. And I love
(18:13):
that. You know, it's it's such
a magical piece to me that, like, you
know, that's
what finally broke it for me. It was
like like, you know, it's like, okay, enough
is enough. I'm not I'm done. Like, there's
no, you know, and every time I'd meet
a new healer or a new
person doing this energy work or organization,
whatever
(18:33):
their acronym is,
they all wanted to go back there. And
I'm like, stop it. We're here presently today.
Like, we've
we we're good.
Right. So let's
let's go, you know, be present, go with,
you know, the energy that we've have built,
all the work that we've earned
and all, you know, all of the lessons
that we have, like, let's apply it and
(18:54):
do really cool stuff
and be live happily. Like,
it's it's a huge part of acknowledging
the achievements,
you know. Absolutely. Because if you focus so
much on the past, you can actually get
stuck in the past. Right. So I think
that there's a really fine line and a
balance there of
understanding what you need to understand
(19:16):
about what you've been through
so that you can process through it.
But the processing through it is how you
then
are able to utilize the lessons that you
learned
as you went through it. And so, it's
a really fine line of,
Okay, we need to understand these things, but
also
we need to not get stuck in the
(19:36):
past and we need
to move forward.
And that is my focus when I work
with people. So, it's,
yes, we need to understand these things that
happened, but how do we move forward from
here?
And so refreshing.
That feels good.
That's awesome.
And your horses
are here. Did you bring them from San
Diego? I did. I did. I actually
(19:59):
have accumulated
2 more since I've been here. So,
down in San Diego, I had 4 and
I, unfortunately,
during that period, the rough patch, I ended
up losing 2 of them for different reasons
at different times. But,
so when I came to Brookings, I had
2 and I vowed that I was just
gonna kind of keep it at that. And
over these last two and a half years,
(20:21):
there have been 2 that really
needed a soft landing and a happy ending.
And
so I actually spent
about 4 years in horse rescue
back down in the San Diego area. And
so that's something that's also near and dear
to my heart. I just I'm an animal
person and I connect deeply
(20:41):
with them.
And,
so these 2
have become a part of my herd and
they are part of my healing team now.
-Okay. -Yeah. -Super good.
How about
here on the Quality Living Show, we like
to ask our guests,
where
where does the word
quality
(21:01):
sit with you?
How does it how does it,
how is it in your world? How do
you view it? Where does it come up?
Quality.
Well,
to me, the first thing that comes up
for me when you say that is the
quality of life, which to me is just
being
happy. It's just being at peace. That's finding
(21:24):
your joy. It's
living every
day to the best of your ability
and doing things that feed your soul
and
that you're passionate about. So to me, that
I guess would be
living
quality.
Yeah.
Nice.
Good. Sweet.
(21:45):
Do you have any,
different,
like, thoughts that you came to the show
with that you maybe wanted to talk about
with the listeners?
They're all here waiting to hear.
You know, I didn't necessarily have anything that
I came in with. I was just really
open to this opportunity.
And
(22:05):
I guess if there's anything
that I would say to the listeners, it's
just that,
you know, I think that we're all on
our own journey. We all have our own
things that we've been through. We've been through
good and we've been through bad. But what
I know for sure
from my own personal experiences is that
we can get through
and it takes some effort and it takes
(22:28):
some intention.
But I know that it is possible
to live that quality life that we were
just talking about, to live that life of
joy and happiness and peace. And it does
not matter if you are
teenager or if you're in your nineties. It
doesn't matter. You know, I have people tell
me sometimes that, well, they're just too old
(22:50):
to, you know, do any of this stuff.
I do not believe in that at all.
I think that
any any days that we can live
in
peace
and happiness
is worth the effort. And so
age is
not part of this. It's so true. It
(23:10):
resonates on every plane, every level because it's
like we are what we think
or, you know, it's it's such a thought
pattern of
giving the mind freedom to to let go
of that thought and to release that pattern
and say, hey, we're done with that.
I hear it all the time. You know,
they got some professional champions in the yoga
(23:31):
classes at reps gym or
Pilates class. They're all champions. And every once
in a while,
they'll say that they're too old to do
something. I'm like, what?
It's like, how where does that even come
from? Yeah. When I think the United States
is one of the only places in the
world where that is even
verbalized out loud. Yeah. It's just it's just
(23:53):
a limiting belief, but it's not true. Right.
It's just something that's made up and a
limiting belief. I like that. Yes. I work
a lot with those.
Yes. Because it limits them. Absolutely. Yeah. It's
just factual. It limits you from your joy
to believe certain things.
And so that's a big part of my
work is is uncovering those limiting beliefs.
(24:17):
And a lot of times, the stories that
we tell ourselves, which oftentimes
stem from the traumas that we've been through,
the hard things,
but oftentimes,
childhood. Mhmm. When I work with clients, there's
things that come up. I don't think I've
had a client yet
that has not had things from their childhood
affecting their adulthood.
(24:39):
And so, these beliefs that we have, these
limiting beliefs, oftentimes
stem from an outdated belief
from, you know, a younger period in life
where we just we gave meaning to something
and we believed that it was true, but
it doesn't necessarily mean that it is true
just because you believe that it's true.
(25:00):
That is real talk right there. You're on
the Quality Living Show. We're talking with Jen.
And,
the best way to get in touch with
her is organicallyhealed.com.
And there's an equine sanctuary, a healing center
being built in the galaxy
right now and it's gonna land
and plant and make roots in Brookings here.
(25:24):
It's happening for sure. Yes. For sure. So
good. Do you have,
like so but at the in the time
being, you are presenting these events you talked
about? I am. Yeah. And are they monthly?
Yeah. So, actually, this is a fairly new
thing that I'm starting to offer in the
area. And so the first event will actually
be October 4th. I'm gonna try to get
(25:45):
a few of them in before the rainy
season hits. We'll see how it goes. It's
just kind of up to mother nature. But,
so I have 2 in October
and then 2 planned for November. And so
those will be
hopefully, we can squeeze those in before the
weather hits. Mhmm. Is there an arena in
case? There is not. And that is why
we need to it's weather dependent.
(26:07):
So, you know, if
if somebody does sign up for those events
and the rain kind of
gives us other
other plans, then it will just be
scheduled for the following weekend. Or would you
be open to if our listeners call in
and say, hey, I have an arena? Oh
my gosh, that would be amazing.
Alright. Yes. You can put that out there.
(26:28):
Yeah.
You can call that in at 4541-661-4098.
It's, you know, that's the bits and pieces
that make the puzzle all so
revealed and just, you know, then you could
put the
put it in a picture frame, paint it
on the wall.
Yeah, absolutely.
(26:49):
Absolutely. That would be amazing.
Sweet.
And there's
one other question. Just a short answer
is, is
are, you know, however you want to do
it.
How about,
the word peaceful?
Well, I think that's kind of connected to
(27:09):
the to the quality thing again. But peaceful
to me
just means being content with where you are
and what you have now.
And really being grateful for
the life that you have and
all that's around you. So peacefulness
to me comes from being grateful
for what we have.
(27:30):
Oh, I love it. Thank you so much,
Jen. Welcome. Thank you for having me. I
appreciate you. Yeah. We'll do it again. We
like to do updates with our guests and
so please listeners,
and thank you for your time and energy
today and find Jenna organicallyhealed.com.
Thank you. Thank you so much.
