Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, and welcome to episode. Oh man, it's been a
half an hour since I even typed that.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (00:07):
I got one job, bro, Dude, I forget after three seconds.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
I literally type it in and then forget.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
I can't. I can't wrap on you. I'm a very
forgetful person.
Speaker 4 (00:18):
My wife told me when I came up from my
office today at dinner, she.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
Was like, can you do this thing? I was like, yeah, absolutely.
I poured some of a glass of water and I
was like, what did you ask me? It's been ten
seconds the thing? What was the thing?
Speaker 5 (00:31):
I thought you were gonna say, you pulled yourself a
whiskey and you completely I was like, in Moga with whiskey.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
It might be because it was the fourth one.
Speaker 6 (00:41):
Over myself.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
How often Thursday one room and completely forget why you
are in.
Speaker 7 (00:47):
There every day?
Speaker 2 (00:49):
Every day?
Speaker 6 (00:50):
Yeah, I don't.
Speaker 8 (00:51):
I mean, I don't have that many rooms, but I'm
more like I don't really walk into a room wondering
why I went to a room. It's more like I
had a list in my brain of like five things
that I'm always.
Speaker 6 (01:02):
Like, Okay, do this, do this, do this?
Speaker 8 (01:03):
Okay, yeah, yeah, because I'm like trying to keep up
with a few things at once, and then yeah, I'll
like go to use the bathroom.
Speaker 6 (01:09):
I'm like, wait, what was I doing?
Speaker 3 (01:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (01:12):
Like redo the list?
Speaker 2 (01:15):
I mean I would think of the bathroom. It's pretty obvious.
Speaker 8 (01:19):
We're not like what am I doing in the bathroom?
I'm saying because I took that brief break.
Speaker 6 (01:23):
In the rhythm that I'm like, wait, what was I doing?
Speaker 3 (01:26):
His panser on his ankles here? Pull these up.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Only a couple of Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:36):
Honestly, I think my toddler would would uh do that too.
He's having issues remembering to bit what he's doing in
the box.
Speaker 6 (01:45):
I don't like the implication, how is everybody's excubing?
Speaker 7 (01:53):
Are we live?
Speaker 2 (01:54):
We are?
Speaker 7 (01:56):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (01:56):
That was making sure?
Speaker 7 (01:57):
I'm like, they're yeaping and he hasn't even turned to I'm.
Speaker 9 (02:00):
Like, welcome the DCP episode four hundred and forty eight. Wow,
back from his golf simulation vacation.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
I got tied.
Speaker 6 (02:14):
There you go.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
The golf sim is going well, I got it good,
It's good.
Speaker 7 (02:22):
Yeah, I mean nothing.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
Look, it's been it's been what it's been like a
month now since I built it, and I'm pretty much done,
Like I might upgrade the projector at some point, but
no rush, Like, all of the basics are in place.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
I have gained twenty yards on my drive.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
Nice dude.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
I think it's just from like playing constantly, like practicing
at home. My irons are I'm sticking them, sticking them.
I'm like Tiger Wood's over here. That's I can't even
joke about that. It's so ridiculous, but it's true.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
But I mean it's it's been fun. I've had people
over to play, which has been fun.
Speaker 6 (03:05):
I mean, I think that was the last update.
Speaker 5 (03:08):
Yeah, you know, you know when you said it's been
a month and I'm done, I thought you meant you're
done with the hobby.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
It's gonna be another Space Marine thing.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Yeah, the next.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
War Hammer all over again.
Speaker 6 (03:21):
He's doing dishibin tournaments now.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
He's like this.
Speaker 4 (03:25):
Two weeks where he's like, this is the only thing
in my life that I care about, and then two
weeks later he's just.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
Done with it.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Yeah, that's pretty much how I work. That's just some
set up.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
Every once in a while, don't you get like, don't
you guys like check out a hobby.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
And like, okay, that was fun, but like I kind.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
Of like on it for a bit.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
All there is to it, you know, Like yeah, yeah,
I don't know. I'll be honest with Warhammer.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
I think was a habit, or not a habit, but
a hobby that is not necessarily good for me, like personally,
Like it's a lot of sitting.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
It's a lot of like non.
Speaker 6 (04:02):
Activity, winting, sedentary.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Yeah, and like I'm not looking to pick up any
more sedentary hobbies.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Honestly.
Speaker 6 (04:09):
It's a good point.
Speaker 7 (04:11):
Yeah that makes sense.
Speaker 6 (04:13):
Yeah, all right, we'll buy that you worked on that
pretty hard.
Speaker 10 (04:20):
You just removed from golf.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
Yeah, that's a fair point.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
And violent, you know, I have like you know, like
you can do exercises on your Apple Watch, you know,
like you gotta fill up the rings.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
I'm not gonna lie to you.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
I click it for golf SIMP and I'm like, yeah.
Speaker 8 (04:40):
There's no there's no activity in Apple Health that's like
golf sim though, is there?
Speaker 6 (04:45):
Or like golf golf? Yeah, but like it thinks you're
like do you mean you have to choose a workout?
Don't you? Like do you choose? Like you do you
claim you're playing tennis or something or like golf.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
Golf is the world.
Speaker 6 (04:57):
Oh it is, okay.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
I mean, what's difference between playing in my sim or
writing a cart exactly?
Speaker 4 (05:06):
Which are you going to get a golf cart just
for the just completely aesthetic you are.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
I mean, look, we're talking dreamscapes here. But if I
could own my own golf cart, I for sure would
like first year.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
Listen prior, you don't have to shoot for the stars
to own a golf cart, Like you could get one
of those pretty cheap bro but yeah, anything in the
world a golf cart.
Speaker 5 (05:34):
You kind of build the golf sim which is some
more expensive.
Speaker 4 (05:37):
Question building the clubhouse as a detached party or yours.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
That's the expensive thing. The golf carts not a big investment.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
I would just I mean, I think that would be
my primary source of transportation.
Speaker 4 (05:51):
Yeah, you know, like what the grocer store.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
Yeah, I My mother lives in like condo complex that
has like golf car orse and like all like like
a clubhouse, and like I'm like, if I lived here,
I would one by a golf cart because like, oh yeah,
you could just stay in the complex, like you know.
Speaker 4 (06:16):
Yeah, they're very common here because we've got a lot
of in my neighborhood. There's like walking trails that connect
like five different neighborhoods, and then that walking trail then
connects to like two different parks and a couple of
hiking trails.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
So it's like everybody's got golf carts around here. I
really yeah.
Speaker 4 (06:35):
Yeah, you'll see golf carts going up and down the
road because like everyone's getting lazy with their kids. And
my kids, I swear my kids like the only ones
riding bikes. Everyone else is on those motorized bikes or
golf carts to go see their friends, and my kids like,
can we get one of those?
Speaker 3 (06:50):
I'm like, no, regit, dang bike.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
We got scooters around these parts.
Speaker 4 (06:55):
I know, like kind of a childhood is that getting
on an electric scooter?
Speaker 10 (06:59):
That's not a photo a thousand bucks age.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
There's a kid.
Speaker 4 (07:04):
There's a kid in our neighborhood who has a go
kart that looks like Mario. It looks like a Mario kart,
is like shiny, like I swear his dad polishes it.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
It's beautiful.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
Yeah, And that's a parent who loves his child.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
That's a parent that's willing to spend two thousand dollars
to never see their kid.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
Yeah, and I'm like that kid can stand to take
a walk or two.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Like that.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
I just remember his name so you can root for
him in uh in f one in fifteen years. Right,
So you guys were playing a game, a game where
you guys playing.
Speaker 11 (07:48):
Before the podcast elten Ring Night Rain b DLC DLC.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
What's new about it?
Speaker 7 (07:59):
Uh? There are two new characters.
Speaker 11 (08:01):
There's two new night Lords, which is the big bosses
at the end. There's a bunch of bosses that have
been added. So you've got like Mogue in there, You've
got Dancing Lion, You've got Artorious, You've got a ton
from across like Dark Soul's elden Ring.
Speaker 7 (08:19):
They're all in there.
Speaker 11 (08:21):
And there's also a new map, but it's it's it's
a new map and it's not a new map. So
if you're familiar with elden Ring Night Rain, and it
has stuff called Shifting Earth's and it's you go into
the same map as you always go into, but they'll
be like a small area of the map that will
be different and it's like an event that you do.
Speaker 7 (08:41):
This is a new Shifting Earth.
Speaker 11 (08:44):
But when you have that Shifting Earth extra no sorry, active,
you go to a new map.
Speaker 7 (08:51):
It's an entirely new map that you're playing on. Yeah,
it's got new events that you have to do.
Speaker 11 (08:57):
You have to like break crystals in order to break
a crystal curse, and there's a bunch of like forts
around the area that if you don't have this thing
that breaks the crystal curse, you get crystallized.
Speaker 7 (09:08):
And you die if you're in there.
Speaker 11 (09:10):
So you have to do this thing, break the crystal curse,
and then you can go into all these like really
really cool.
Speaker 7 (09:15):
Castles and do different things in there.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
So to be clear, you don't load in a crystal curse.
Speaker 8 (09:21):
Uh, there was something colon Crystal almost feels like a
Kirby game that might've been Crystal Dreams.
Speaker 6 (09:30):
Anyway, So what's to be clear?
Speaker 8 (09:32):
Normally in Shifting Earth, right, it's like Shifting Earth is active,
and when you load in, there's like a fiery pit
and you know, you go there and you can go
down deeper into the areas you've never seen with this
when it's active, I assume like the round Table, it's
all like active, right, and then you load into an
entirely new map, not the old one at all, correct,
and is it as big as you know, the old
(09:54):
I mean.
Speaker 11 (09:55):
I would say, it's hard to say because it's super vertical.
It's got a lot of like a tower, a lot
of vertical space, a lot of stuff underground. There's there's
a ton of vertical space. But it's definitely like triple
the size of like a regular you know, Shifting Earth.
So you think about how big the city is. The
city is huge, so it's bigger than a lot bigger
(10:16):
than that. So yeah, it's it's essentially it's essentially a
new map.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
How do they, like, lore wise, how do they explain
all of these bosses existing in this other separate game.
Speaker 7 (10:31):
It doesn't follow Elden Ring lore.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
Okay, so it's like although there.
Speaker 11 (10:37):
Is some stuff, like you know, some characters will mention like,
oh I'm from this town or I'm from this like
sective people and that's a sect of people that's in
Eledan Ring, but everything else is like.
Speaker 7 (10:47):
Pretty separate lore wise.
Speaker 11 (10:49):
M Yeah, but yeah, we were playing that miland did
really well. The reason we were laying I was like, we're,
you know, we're doing the new The new maps really hard,
and the new like End of Night bosses are also
really hard.
Speaker 7 (11:07):
So I'm like, hey, you know, we might not even
make it to the boss.
Speaker 11 (11:10):
To be honest, it's been rough, but we did really
really well.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
And nice to him just because he had a baby.
Speaker 7 (11:17):
I mean we did. That's the best we've done. I've
only followed that boss twice, but that's the best we've done.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
And you had Adam Scott Kron. Yeah, that's pretty cool.
Speaker 8 (11:26):
We did decide, Dmitri. I didn't TV decided that Dimetris.
Speaker 4 (11:30):
It's uncanny, Like, go back and watch the bot and
tell me I'm wrong, Parks.
Speaker 7 (11:34):
And yeah to his voice and listen.
Speaker 8 (11:38):
Okay, night Rain though, remind me with the Wayfares there
was what too new Wayfares? Was that with this update?
So you haven't played him until like what was it
today or yesterday?
Speaker 7 (11:49):
Technically today?
Speaker 6 (11:50):
Like they just came yesterday. Yeah, okay, yep.
Speaker 11 (11:54):
There's a one is called the Undertaker. She is an
abbess nun like the Head none and she is a
strength faith character. She prefers hammers. She can be pretty fast. Yeah,
she rips out kind She's kind of more like a
(12:14):
battle more badly than like Palette, and I would say
she rips out a spine from her mouth and flies
at the enemy with it and stabs them.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
From her mouth.
Speaker 6 (12:27):
That's just links the wall sometimes.
Speaker 11 (12:36):
Lick the wall sometimes yeah yeah, yep, yep. But she
she has a nobility where when she pops it, it
will like refill all of her stamina and then it
will make her like a little bit faster do some
more damage. And then her ultimate is she yeah, flies
(12:57):
at them and hits them, but she can use her
ultimate within a three second window if anyone else on
her team uses an ultimate, so you can stack that
really nice and.
Speaker 7 (13:08):
That can be super fun.
Speaker 6 (13:11):
Uh.
Speaker 11 (13:12):
The other new character is called Scholar. He is an
arcane character all in on arcane.
Speaker 7 (13:19):
He reads a lot of boots, like.
Speaker 8 (13:22):
A lot of boots that checks out.
Speaker 6 (13:28):
Anybody, get it.
Speaker 11 (13:31):
And he like analyzed the battlefield basically like a big
circle kind of fills on an enemy and then you
can choose to debuff them or buff your teammates. And
then he is ultimate is he links everyone together and
then any damage that you do does to everything on
the field. When you're healing, it heals everyone on the field.
(13:53):
When you're attacking, it's healing.
Speaker 7 (13:55):
Yeah, So it's it's really yeah.
Speaker 11 (13:59):
But then the most fun thing about him I think
is he can carry more items, and he can level
those items up, so you can throw pots throughout the
match and you can get your pots to like level three,
so you can have super beefed up pots and you can.
Speaker 7 (14:16):
Do that with every item.
Speaker 11 (14:17):
In the game, the bell, healing items, buffing items, Yeah, everything.
Speaker 5 (14:22):
You have to kill or can he just used them?
Speaker 6 (14:29):
Oh?
Speaker 10 (14:30):
Items?
Speaker 3 (14:31):
Like?
Speaker 2 (14:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 10 (14:32):
But like to level the items up, do you have
to use a currency?
Speaker 7 (14:36):
No, that's his passive.
Speaker 10 (14:37):
You just use them all right, just gets bafed up.
Speaker 4 (14:40):
Ye'll use the how's the reception bit from the community.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
Hot topic reception for anything anymore?
Speaker 7 (14:54):
Seriously, I was saying.
Speaker 11 (14:55):
I actually I'm not sure that people who play video
games like video games.
Speaker 7 (14:59):
I'm actually not sure.
Speaker 11 (15:01):
So people who are enjoying Night Rain, they love the
new characters, they love the new bosses, like it's it's
such a big breath of life into the game where
you have new relics and you've got.
Speaker 7 (15:11):
New stuff to hunt for and the like. It's learning
the new map is really fun.
Speaker 11 (15:17):
But then you the current reviews on Steam are mixed,
and the reasons that they are is people wanted some
like Shadow of the r tree weapons and magic and
that's not in there, and that's really the biggest thing
that I've seen. And then people being like it's hard
(15:38):
to traverse the map because it's vertical criticality aspect.
Speaker 5 (15:43):
Yeah, so people's wanted weapons, which is like the only
era that they didn't add anything to. They gave you
a map, they gave you characters, they gave you bosses,
but not enough weapons.
Speaker 11 (15:56):
It's fifteen dollars for a forty dollars game, and it
seems like.
Speaker 7 (16:04):
People were expecting.
Speaker 11 (16:06):
A lot and honestly like getting a whole new map
with new like the two new bosses are brand new bosses.
Even the bosses that they brought back have new mechanics.
It's it's really quite a substantial update for fifteen dollars, especially, so.
Speaker 6 (16:23):
I think people have price complains about it.
Speaker 4 (16:25):
Yeah, I mean it's, oh, there's a lot of mainstream
games out there that will drop a legendary skin for
twenty dollars.
Speaker 3 (16:32):
I mean you get all those same.
Speaker 8 (16:35):
People are playing our Creators and then buying some dumb
skin pack that's not even that good. Yeah, that's I mean,
that's why, that's why, Like, honestly, you guys have heard
me say before, but like I like to hear about, Yeah,
how is the game? Everybody's price, you know, is different,
and it's so subjective. So it's like when people start
complaining about what they expected based on the price, Like
(16:58):
I get that it's subjective, but it does it only
applies to you, and so it's like, well, you know,
maybe you should just think about what the gameplay is first, but.
Speaker 7 (17:10):
I think I think it's great. And the map.
Speaker 11 (17:12):
The map is also so different because you know, in
a you don't have any ever jails anymore, so you're
not getting keys to open ever jails. There's a lot
of locations that actually are not marked on the map
that can give you stuff. So it just plays very,
very differently, which is, you know, adding a new map
is great, but if it was a similar kind of thing,
it's like, okay, but this is a completely different gameplay experience.
(17:36):
And then oh, also there's new invasions like the first
the first boss, Tricephalos, the like box wolf thing, he
will invade you. The ece dragon can also invade you
while you're playing.
Speaker 4 (17:51):
Did you say the moss's name is Trisyphilis, Yeah.
Speaker 12 (17:56):
I don't think it's definitely worse.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
There's also new.
Speaker 11 (18:16):
There's also new places of interest, so there's like little
towns that you fight a boss and then you can
like fire up a forge and you can change the
skill on your weapon. So you've got a really good weapon.
It's got a really poop skill. You can try and
see if you can get a better one. There's also swamps,
the scarlet rot swamps, poison swamps, sleep swamps, blood swamps, terrible.
Speaker 7 (18:40):
Every swamp.
Speaker 6 (18:44):
You're supposed to be miserable. That's how it works.
Speaker 11 (18:46):
There's a story online on the on It was like
an interview with the devs and they said that they
didn't they weren't really sure if they wanted to have
swamps in the game, and then but someone came and
put swamps in the game.
Speaker 7 (18:59):
So I'm just picturing me as Zaki walking in and
being like, put in eight swamps.
Speaker 3 (19:06):
It's a problem.
Speaker 11 (19:09):
We actually we had something crazy happen. So we're playing
with three people, right, there's an invasion of this the
new boss which are called the Balancers. It says the
Balances are deciding fate or something. It splits us up
into three completely different swamps across the map, and we
(19:31):
have to fight the a couple of these bosses, because
there's seven of them. We have to fight some of
these bosses by ourself in the swamp and defeat all
these enemies in the swamp by ourself, and then.
Speaker 7 (19:42):
We can get back together. So I was like that
was a thing going to be sprung on us.
Speaker 5 (19:49):
I was not that of I think sword hold a
move like, all right, you see here a moment everyone,
you gotta pull you white.
Speaker 4 (19:56):
Yeah, that's like a classic anime arc where the team
gets split up and everybody has their own boss fight.
Speaker 7 (20:02):
Yeah, it's it's actually, it's really cool.
Speaker 11 (20:04):
It's really hard because in the swamp you can't run,
you can't really jump, you can't roll, you're super slow,
you're getting poisoned or you're getting slept.
Speaker 7 (20:12):
But it was it was really good.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
It was really the worst.
Speaker 4 (20:17):
But yeah, so I've run out a D and D
campaign right now on the swamp and it's all status effects.
Speaker 3 (20:22):
They're ready to be done.
Speaker 7 (20:25):
This sounds fun.
Speaker 11 (20:28):
I highly recommend it. It continues to be a super
fricking fun game. I never expected to, you know, like
it as much as I do. But now I've gone
one hundred and twenty hours which is like peanuts compared
to lots of people playing the game, and I just
want to play it all day.
Speaker 3 (20:45):
Still a ton that's a good feeling.
Speaker 6 (20:47):
That's good here.
Speaker 8 (20:48):
Yeah, yeah, I mean on the price thing too, I
wanted to say that, like one, obviously, I haven't played it, so,
like you know, I couldn't really comment on the value necessarily,
but I remember playing just the base game and I
was like, holy cow, like they gave you so much
for you know, if you were just looking at price expectations,
and to me, like person, I'm just like, I feel
like elden Ring. It's kind of elder Ring Night Ring
(21:11):
can't do any wrong in the sense of like you've
given us so much already, So adding a couple more
classes and like a new map of some.
Speaker 6 (21:18):
Good Night sounds pretty good to me for fifteen bucks.
But like, yeah, which is also.
Speaker 5 (21:24):
Nice yasign brass and it's transaction.
Speaker 6 (21:29):
Maybe there's no stupid battle pass. I'm so, you know,
not going to go.
Speaker 11 (21:35):
People outfits for the new characters.
Speaker 10 (21:40):
Why are you going to keep playing fran if there's
no battle pass?
Speaker 6 (21:43):
Mate?
Speaker 8 (21:44):
Oh? Because the game's good and fun and I'm not
just mindlessly for some.
Speaker 6 (21:50):
Hard that I'm never.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
Going to use game.
Speaker 10 (21:53):
Why would I?
Speaker 11 (21:54):
For fun?
Speaker 8 (21:55):
I got a real beef with like our creators. As
great as that game, it just bothers me so much.
Like it's it's an extraction game all about getting out
gear and stuff and it's not a big deal, but
they like give you gear part of the dumb battle
pass thing, and like anything that's reasonably good is you
got to pay in the store. Anyways, whatever, I just
think it's ruining games, is all I'm gonna say on that.
Speaker 3 (22:15):
But I've got a story.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
I got a great battle past history, but it's n
d a kind of wait till the show's over.
Speaker 3 (22:23):
But okay, the point is I like it.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
Later.
Speaker 7 (22:31):
Yeah, I'm excited.
Speaker 6 (22:32):
Don't forget to tell us later.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
Other stuff that's new. So we just launched I know that.
Speaker 4 (22:42):
I'm like the one guy that's still playing Marvel Rivals
in the group. They've just launched a new season. We
got Gambit in the game.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
Now.
Speaker 4 (22:48):
You know one of like the fan favorite X men,
you know, throws the cards. He's the cage a guy
throws the cards with connect energy. Yeah, he's really cool.
They they made him a support character, so they they
kind of they're playing around with lore in game cut
scenes and text. Well, they do it like comic book style, right,
They give you you have a gallery and they have
comic book pages, so if you're interested in that stuff,
(23:10):
you're like, WHOA, how did Gambit end up being a
support hero?
Speaker 3 (23:14):
He's more of like a DPS right.
Speaker 4 (23:15):
Well, he like makes a pact with the game master
where he's going to go steal something from the Fisto
and part of the deals that he gets access to
like two sides of his cards, so one is damaged,
one is healing. So he's kind of fun like that
because you can switch back. He's like a hybrid character,
and they're trying to encourage more support players to really
lean into that role. And they've had a problem in
(23:38):
the past with like seasons where dive characters are just
oppressing your healers.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
And hellers were like, this is awful.
Speaker 4 (23:46):
I don't want to do this anymore. I just have
Spider Man on my butt the whole time. So now
they're getting creative with their support healers and giving them
access to like he's got two kits in one so
when he gets Dove on, he can he can switch
to the other side and be like, I you want
to you.
Speaker 3 (24:03):
Want to brawl, Let's brawl.
Speaker 6 (24:04):
Let's do it.
Speaker 10 (24:05):
Yeah, the real question is Channing Titum gambit.
Speaker 3 (24:10):
Thank God it's not. I feel like I've taken crazy pills.
Everyone's like, yeah, he was so great in that movie.
Is like he was horrible. It was like the worst
gambit I've ever seen.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
I'm kind of with you TV. I like, I did
not understand the Channing Tatum love in that movie.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
No, nothing against him.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
I was like, this is terrible.
Speaker 7 (24:30):
It was funny. Yeah, it was like a with the
character really, but the.
Speaker 4 (24:35):
Games it's fun because the game is really evolving in
a lot of ways outside of just being you know,
here a hero shooter of sorts. A couple like a
full season ago. Now, they launched this Halloween event that
was Marvel Zombies, and everyone expected it to be pretty simple.
(24:57):
It ended up being a really ball PvE event and
it got so much love and attention that they were like, Okay,
well we have so many people still playing this and
it's like shot it like doubled their player.
Speaker 3 (25:11):
Count on Steam charts.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
They're like, we.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
Can't turn it off. So they gave it like a.
Speaker 4 (25:16):
Three week extension, then they gave it another extension, and
then just yesterday announced we're going to give it another
seven week extension, and we're committing to making more maps
and more boss fights and bringing more heroes to the
zombies roster.
Speaker 3 (25:30):
As well, so that like a Horde MO, yeah, more
or less. It's got different stages.
Speaker 4 (25:37):
You start pretty basic where you're progressing through this through
New York City. You know, skyscrapers all around you, and
you go to different parts of the city to have
these different waves coming at you. But then once you've
leveled up your character, so it's kind of like a
a deck building rogue light game in each match that
(25:58):
you play. But then you also are leveling up your
character permanently as well with each time you play it,
so you're getting stronger, you're getting access to new abilities
and skill trees, and you're making your zombies build outside
of the match, and then you take that build into
the match. And then you have this full deck of
cards and every round you're handed, you've got like a
(26:19):
certain let's say it gives you twenty currency, and it
will show you three cards and they're random, you know,
and it could be like your gun does more damage.
It reduced one reduces incoming damage. This one increases the
damage output of this specific ability you have. This one
gives you an augmentation to an ability you have. So
you're trying to pick and choose how are you going
(26:39):
to spend that money. You could decline all of the
cards and just refresh the page as well for currency,
So it's really a like not no two runs are
exactly the same in that regard. But then they also
decided to once you get to the highest level where
some of these waves, it's like the highest difficulty level
is twenty waves with four boss fights and the final
(27:02):
one is like two bosses on the stage at once,
and the waves are like a thousand zombies at a time,
so it's pretty intense.
Speaker 6 (27:09):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (27:10):
And then they introduced like kind of like Destiny did
with We're gonna give you a special title if you
can solo clear a dungeon flawless, Like that was the
thing in Destiny, right, solo flaws dungeon.
Speaker 3 (27:21):
Well, Marvel Rivals kind of took.
Speaker 4 (27:23):
That idea as well and implemented it with the zombies
Moti like you know, you can you can turn off
matchmaking and go in solo on Nightmare four difficulty, and
if you can clear all twenty waves, we'll give you
a special title that will be on your name plate
for everybody to see.
Speaker 3 (27:39):
Really cool stuff. And it's gotten so much love.
Speaker 4 (27:42):
I expected it just to be like this one off
thing and not last, and so I just needed some
content to like fill the week out, you know. So
I was like, oh, I'll make a guide on my
Solo Clear for this character. And my Magic Solo Clear
guide now has about one hundred and twenty thousand views.
The game mode, it's just for a side game mode.
It's like people are loving it, so they're they're fully
(28:03):
committed now they're like, okay, we're we're just gonna run
with this.
Speaker 3 (28:06):
We're just gonna make this a thing.
Speaker 12 (28:07):
You know.
Speaker 4 (28:07):
It's kind of like the Diet Fortnite experience, where Fortnite
was like throw a throw a battle royale out there.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
Oh you guys like this? Okay, It's kind of like that.
Speaker 10 (28:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (28:18):
Is there a crossover between any progression in pv E
and PDP, Like is it or is it just like
the emblems of titles you're getting as a reward.
Speaker 4 (28:29):
Uh? Yeah, so just the emblems and titles and stuff
like that that you achieve in the TV stuff that's
all you committed.
Speaker 3 (28:35):
And PvP, yes, so actually you can.
Speaker 4 (28:40):
Yeah, it's totally for the event itself is free, and
then when you achieve a certain accomplishments in the game.
Speaker 3 (28:46):
This is one of the things I.
Speaker 4 (28:47):
Really like about Rivals is they're really generous with the currency. Yes,
you can throw money at the screen to buy all
the skins, but if you're a normal player that's like
I only have enough time to like master three characters,
you could basically never pay real money because these achievements
that you can get in the free to play modes
actually award you real currency in the game that you
(29:08):
would buy for real money. So like my wife, for example,
she's bought like six skins at this point, and she's
got I think less. I saw she was at about
two hundred and fifty hours in the game. She's bought
like six skins and she's never paid a dime and
they're like legendary skins. It's just because she's just playing
the game and earning the free currency and spending it
where she wants to.
Speaker 3 (29:29):
So that's one of the things I appreciate. I appreciated
about the game.
Speaker 7 (29:34):
Yeah, I love it.
Speaker 11 (29:35):
I love that there they saw success with such a
different mode to what they you know, the core of
it is, and they decided to run with it.
Speaker 7 (29:42):
That's great.
Speaker 5 (29:43):
Yeah, that's similar to this that hasn't gone well, Like
Rainbow Succeed did something similar with that added a zombie
Horde mode for Halloween. I don't think it really got
any traction from it, you know, I like the people
didn't really gravitate to the you know, have the sort
of fun.
Speaker 10 (29:59):
PV email mode.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (30:02):
Yeah, it is going through the same conversation right now
with PV only mode.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
They what are they doing?
Speaker 10 (30:10):
Our Creators there is.
Speaker 5 (30:14):
Nearly every single video, every single video make there will
be multiple comments saying I love the game, but I
hate PvP. You give us a PV only mode. There's
a I mean, I'm interested to see, like is it
a loud minority or if it's just I think it's
I think Our Creators is people's first extraction shooter and
(30:36):
they just don't like extraction shooters, like they don't like
TVP aspect of extraction shooters. But to give them by credit,
they've built there's like really cool world and originally it
was a PV game, and so like Enemies the AI,
and like a lot of the aspects of PV orientated,
there's like world bosses that you work together on and
(30:58):
community puzzles and stuff like that that you know, so
there's all these PV elements and people enjoy and a
lot of people are requesting almost similar to what Marve
Rivals has done, is like give us a PV only mode,
right like in Bark hasn't really officially responded, but they
(31:19):
did release like their documentaries, which episode one is basically
this was a PV game. We try to make it
a PV game. We didn't feel like it was quite right.
We added PvP and it felt like there was a
missing flavor, and uh, that's kind of where we are,
so reading between the lines that you know, I don't know.
(31:39):
I highly doubt they would do something like adding a
PV only mode.
Speaker 11 (31:44):
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it kind of seems
like a lot of the A lot of what I
see on our raaders and what I see from the
popularity and why it's so popular is the interaction with
other players when it comes to like grouping up taking
on PV.
Speaker 7 (32:00):
You maybe but.
Speaker 11 (32:01):
It's that thing of like if you took all that
tension away of if this person is going to be
a good or a bad guy, and you're just like, oh, hey,
random person, want to go shoot robots?
Speaker 7 (32:10):
Doesn't that kind of kill some of them?
Speaker 10 (32:12):
Like I'll give you.
Speaker 7 (32:12):
I'll give it the.
Speaker 5 (32:14):
Easiest example of why the current game wouldn't work with it.
And we've all seen this happen before in Destiny, right,
So like, if you need to make money in the game,
there's like a wipe coming up, so you want to
get some money for the game. One of the hardest
maps they introduced in the game has like more difficult AI.
It's all like corridors and it's heavy heavy PvP, but
(32:35):
the loot is like incredibly good. If you can survive,
you'll get out with like a lot of money. So
what you can just do is pretty much abuse that map,
load in with a free kit, keep respawning if you
don't get the right spawn, wait until you get the
spawn on like some of the best loot, gobble it
up and extra extract straight away. The only thing preventing
(32:57):
you from doing that, it's other players killing you. Otherwise,
if it was just PV you were just like that's
what happened, Like this is the most effective way to
get money. I cycle through the map until I get
the spawn, intentionally die until I get the spawn I
got right, so and you know that's okay, Like that's
(33:20):
what people do in PV games, but the complexity is
not there to support PV only options. And it's like,
you know, the the world bosses and stuff are incredibly
fun and is frustrating to get killed by other players
when you're trying to take on a giant boss, but
by themselves, Like everyone would be so looted in PV,
Like it would need a lot to get to a
(33:42):
point where I think PV only would would be substantial
enough to satisfy PV players. I mean, if you look
at like all our criticisms of like Destiny to and
all that kind of stuff, you look at how much
content PV players get through Destiny Borderlines for war Frame, like,
(34:03):
there needs to be a quite a substantial grind there,
and PvP does a lot of heavy lifting to to
keep players, you know, moving around.
Speaker 6 (34:14):
Uh huh yeah, friend, Yeah, I was just gonna say that.
Speaker 8 (34:18):
I think that's yeah, the devil's in the details and
a PvE only mode is a great suggestion, and in fact,
the game as we know was supposed to be that
and that it was going to be free to play
and like so like they can deliver. I think anybody
would agree that the core feeling of the game, and
it probably comes from that of like you're fighting a
(34:38):
rocketeer and you're like, oh my asphelt is so fun
and somebody comes up to you's like shoots you in
the back and you're like, all right, well that blows,
Like I just lost like two hours.
Speaker 6 (34:47):
But that's like extraction games.
Speaker 8 (34:49):
But that being said, I mean, I think a PvE
only mode is a great idea, but it probably needs
to be separate.
Speaker 6 (34:54):
It's got to be really good.
Speaker 8 (34:57):
It's gonna have to have its own balance probably, and like,
I don't think and you can't blame them. There's a
lot of players who are just frustrated with stuff like
I mentioned, and they're like, oh, but I really like
this component of it and I feel like I can't
play it because it's so punishing. But that doesn't mean
that if you play it the other way that it's
not super enjoyable, right. I think it's just like the
DNA of the game is not what they want at
(35:19):
all right now, but I do think there's room for it.
I just don't know how they would, you know, support
the current game and then also introduce some new like
say co op strike mode where you go in three people,
et cetera.
Speaker 5 (35:30):
Yeah, Like, I think there's lots of stuff they can
do without like neumadly and impacting the impacting the game.
Like I think I brought up Warframe a couple of
times as an example. When Warframe launched, it was just
kind of the core loop of strike missions, right, and
then eventually you got successful enough they started adding these
crazy campaigns that were just so enjoyable. Real voice actis,
(35:53):
real cutscene, you know, and like really good sci fi.
And I think it's one of the weakest aspects of
okraight is in like you have the cash now to
like you can do a PV campaign and they're to
tell the story. I'll be completely alright with with going
through a campaign.
Speaker 10 (36:06):
I think that would be really engaging.
Speaker 5 (36:09):
There's other things they could do as well to rather
than eliminate PvP, encourage PV. I think another good example
is like one of these world bosses, a giant like spiders.
You have to work together to destroy this thing, and
there is a single blueprint on the core, so when
it goes down, you have to rush the body, search
(36:30):
for it, and extract with this single blueprint. And so
what it encourages is everyone works together as soon as
the body starts bots each other, which is frustrating but
also hilarious. It can also be really fun too. But
like it goes from PV to PvP, you could encourage
more PvE by you know, rewarding players for contributing to
(36:54):
damage to the boss. And there are some systems that
are already liked that, like if you bring in gear
and you do twenty thousand damage to the boss, maybe
you get a chance of it just dropping anyway in
your end screen. And there are a couple of systems
that are already in place that kind of do that.
They track how much damage you do to different things
and it gives you award based on that. Right right now,
there's not a system for that. So what people do
(37:17):
is you don't bring any gear in, you don't risk anything,
but everyone else to do the work for you, and
then you just rush the core and hopefully you get
there first.
Speaker 10 (37:26):
And you get it before someone kills you.
Speaker 5 (37:29):
So I think they could work out ways to incentivize
PvE and if people still want a PvP, that can
but there are things like that.
Speaker 10 (37:37):
I think they could, you know, social.
Speaker 5 (37:40):
Engineer PvE into the game even more to give people
that experience.
Speaker 10 (37:45):
But if you want to shoot someone the back, you
can still do it.
Speaker 8 (37:48):
Yeah, And that's what I was going to say, is
like you, I think you can take any game and
start talking about oh man, wouldn't be cool if they
made this mode and like if it's done well, like,
I don't think those ideas can and should exist as
it's just like we've also learned that if you get
out of your lane, right, how are you gonna support
all that when our creators, as you're pointing out, it
already has enough issues, yeah that it needs it needs
(38:11):
a lot of support. We're gonna want new maps soon.
It's gonna become more and more toxic. It's you know,
and then it doesn't have like a full wipe mechanic, right,
that's gonna like suddenly make it like, oh man, it
was getting really nasty out there. And so anyway to
finish point on PVEE, I do think it's it is
frustrating at times, like I've actually only gone after the
Queen once because of the amount of time the game
(38:34):
takes to like just keep a decent kit.
Speaker 6 (38:36):
I hate running with a free kit personally, and.
Speaker 8 (38:39):
That's just my play style, so like it's so expensive
for me to like kind of run in with even
just like a couple of green guns and the AMMO
that I went in one time and actually we were
doing okay, and of course, like some rats just bored,
come up, shoot, yeah we should have flip the script, baby,
But anyway, like it it. I've played tons of extra
(39:00):
actually in other games, so I was like, ah, well
that sucks, you know, and I don't have like tons
of gear fear.
Speaker 6 (39:06):
It's the time fear.
Speaker 8 (39:08):
And I'm like, dude, I feel like I was fun,
but then I waste I don't know, I get into
it with this game where I feel like I did
a run or two and then things go really like
a ry and I feel like it could just use
more balances to point at times like you're saying, you know,
maybe solutions for if you're in these big PV fights,
they can do stuff. But I don't think me doing
(39:28):
trials sometimes, and I just personally feel like it's pretty
expensive to fight against the arc when you could just
get shot in the back, you know.
Speaker 10 (39:38):
Yeah, trials.
Speaker 5 (39:39):
I don't know how much everyone else knows about trials,
but it's a really cool system that adds.
Speaker 10 (39:45):
A lot of longevity to the game.
Speaker 5 (39:47):
But it's definitely got some like immantation flaws. But it
basically resets every week and it gives you objectives to do,
like damage the queen and you get done, you know,
like a rank ABC and S. But it's just like stars,
right and then and the higher rank you get, you
get like a once off you know, green blue.
Speaker 10 (40:09):
Or purple drop.
Speaker 5 (40:10):
Then actually in like a leader board where you're versing
one hundred other people and it gives you a ranking
to maintain, which then leads you to cosmetics. So like
each week he's got your kind on this little treadmill, like, oh,
I've got to keep my rank by doing whatever objective
in Bark sets.
Speaker 3 (40:27):
For me, that's like a gotcha game thing.
Speaker 4 (40:29):
A lot of gotcha games do events like that, or
it just tosses you to a leader board with the UI.
Speaker 5 (40:34):
The UI is incredibly similar to mobile gutcha games with
like the little little stars and it gives you like
get you like a fox.
Speaker 10 (40:45):
Of course, because it's that is.
Speaker 5 (40:47):
It's all PV focused too, there's no like kill plays to.
Speaker 10 (40:51):
Get this rank.
Speaker 5 (40:52):
H people will work out the best way to manipulate
that system to get the highest score. So, for example,
one of them was like ill Airborne Arcs, and there
was there's an arc in the game that's flying. It's
called a snitch, and if it catches you, it sends
down other arcs. More, if you kill it and you
(41:14):
pick up its core, you can actually spawn arcs and normally.
Speaker 10 (41:17):
You would use that to throw at other players.
Speaker 5 (41:20):
So what people were doing is that were farming snitches
getting a bazillion cause they throw all the calls down
and then they spawn their own enemies and then they
blow them all up. I think that's kind of funny
and kind of cool, but it also like the sweat
levels of it were like people were at like one
hundred two hundred thousand score and the average player would
be like twenty invest. If you didn't invest like two
(41:44):
days farming snitch calls, you were not on the lidter board.
You were going to get to motor right. So overall though,
I like the system, and there are other things people
are abusing, like certain game modes that were glitching or
getting extra time for and all this kind of stuff.
Like the core principal of it is we want you
to perform the best you can doing a certain objective
(42:05):
and that is kind of fun and compete against other
real players to do it and to get some cool
rewards for it.
Speaker 10 (42:13):
Ye bugs and stuff that they nurse.
Speaker 5 (42:15):
They did that, you know, like this week they took
out a thing called Hidden Bunker because people were abusing
that game mode and they already have like tur On
thousand on the leaderboard, so now everyone's like, well, now
you've taken it.
Speaker 10 (42:28):
Out, I can't compete with it to get on the leaderboard.
Speaker 8 (42:33):
Yeah, it's interesting. The leaderboard stuff personally doesn't grab me,
but I'm just not that type of player, I guess.
Speaker 6 (42:39):
But it was part of it.
Speaker 8 (42:40):
Was like the skins and like there doesn't seem to
be any real promise, Like I don't feel like I'm
going to be walking around in two months and I
got top one and people are like, oh my god,
like you know.
Speaker 5 (42:51):
I've been this is what been asking for a desk,
Like I want cosmetics that not everyone has is a
reward for playing the game, So like I like that.
Speaker 6 (43:00):
No, I do like that. I just I mean maybe
part of it is I looked at the cosmetic outline.
Speaker 5 (43:05):
I don't know, it's like they're not very good show
what the cosmetics are.
Speaker 6 (43:09):
That's I wouldn't look at it. You can look at
it in the you can look.
Speaker 10 (43:12):
At it, but like it should be linked, easy.
Speaker 6 (43:16):
Click on totally.
Speaker 5 (43:17):
Yeah, I actually like see what they are, not have
to scroll through or like locked cosmetics kind.
Speaker 6 (43:23):
Of Yeah, that would be nice.
Speaker 8 (43:25):
But my point was I looked at I was like,
I don't know, I don't even I don't like half the
more than half the skins in there. And I was like,
you're gonna give me this for all this effort, but
put in that it's not I actually really like the
system and yeah, it'll send you to do PV stuff.
But it goes back to what I said, I feel
like that is where there's a balance. Thing, Like I've
played I don't know one hundred and twenty hours my own,
how much have you put almost two hundred exactly, So
(43:45):
for you, you've got a lot more hours in investment.
But my point is like I multiple times, dude solo
in particular, and that's what makes this heart.
Speaker 6 (43:53):
It feels just they got to get the balance right.
Speaker 8 (43:56):
I like that it's punishing actually, but I'll be like
fighting a rocketeer with whatever, an handvil and a whole
cracker on my own, and like I'll just be working
on it a while, but then you still got to extract,
and like you're shot in the back and you're like, well,
I mean it's it feels almost like for nothing, And so.
Speaker 10 (44:14):
It kind of sounds like a lot of skill issues
your you know.
Speaker 8 (44:17):
What, getting shot in the back by a rat. I mean,
come on, dude, that's not a skill issue when you're sol.
Speaker 10 (44:23):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (44:23):
So I would like to challenge this point, right, okay,
because I see this a lot, and I think this
is people that are new to extraction shooters. It's like
that that well, PvP and extraction shooters is not necessarily
a mouse and keyboard skill thing. It is like you
learn where the spawns are, you learn where someone could
be nearby. You're listening out for someone, and if you
(44:44):
get caught up with a rocketeer, like someone is probably
going to come third part of you. So if you
can't disengage from that, then you're going to get third
party and you kind of just need to accept that
you made too much noise and someone's going to come
kill you because you're spending too much time a rocketeer
when you're doing like when I do the Rocketeer trial,
I just took in all wolf packs and you have
to burn the rocketeers really quick, right and move on.
Speaker 6 (45:04):
So it's easy. So what if you have no blueprint
for a wolf pack?
Speaker 2 (45:07):
Though?
Speaker 6 (45:08):
What are you gonna do?
Speaker 10 (45:08):
Yeah, that's the game. What are you gonna do? Yeah,
you have to pay two hundred hours?
Speaker 6 (45:12):
Is this the argument?
Speaker 8 (45:13):
Yes, Oh that's how you get trials now? But no,
but for real, this is what I'm getting at. Like
you described, Wow, you should.
Speaker 6 (45:20):
Have brought in a lot more gear and better. I'm like,
I don't have it. One hundred and twenty hours.
Speaker 10 (45:24):
What do you want to do?
Speaker 6 (45:26):
Oh you should far money. There's a farm, there's an
exploit to far money. Bro, I don't want to do that.
I want to run in circles. I'm just trying to
play the game and get some balance. But I'm not
I agree with you? Is my point on Like the
whole point.
Speaker 8 (45:38):
It's just I think it could use some ballots.
Speaker 5 (45:44):
I would like to play with you and see the
strategies that you're implementing.
Speaker 11 (45:48):
Let's see Franz Strants. Yeah, I want to see Franz
strats and night Raine too.
Speaker 7 (45:54):
We have a day of friends.
Speaker 3 (45:56):
No, but I like this.
Speaker 8 (45:58):
But I like this point. Let's just assume I'm an
average player. So are you suggesting I'm a bad player.
It was funny, I think because you're saying you have
to be above average just to do you see we're
getting out.
Speaker 5 (46:11):
I think if you get shot in the back, I
think a lot of people blame the other person for
being toxic, rather than being like, did I make too
much noise? Did I spend too much time here? Did
I use the environments of the best of my ability?
Speaker 10 (46:24):
Did I like reposition after shooting the rocket?
Speaker 6 (46:27):
Like?
Speaker 5 (46:27):
I think there's a lot of things as a player
you can do to Yeah, but I think when people
say I just got shot in the back, people are like,
I did everything I possibly could to avoid a pvping.
Speaker 8 (46:39):
I mean it was a bit of a hyperbole, by
the way, because I'm just saying that you do get
I died at arc sometime after I finished my trials.
Speaker 5 (46:48):
For example, I've found because we're coming close to expedition previously,
a lot of people would not shoot you at extract.
Speaker 10 (46:55):
They'll be pretty friendly.
Speaker 5 (46:56):
I've been portrayed a lot at an extract now, so
like now now I stopped bringing spikes and I don't
trust you, Yeah, I bring spokes like going there, I like,
I smoked the extract and I get out because I
just can't really deal with someone doing that. But if
I didn't and I got shot in the back, I
would probably oh well, they just tell me Like I
was like, well, there are things I could have done
and I should have brought in key wise that could
mitigate totally.
Speaker 6 (47:18):
And I think, you know, I absolutely do agree with you.
Speaker 8 (47:22):
By the way, I was just trying to make a point,
like I didn't actually get shot in the back.
Speaker 6 (47:26):
Usually i've died.
Speaker 8 (47:26):
The other arc like suddenly you find yourself like out
any open and suddenly there's like you didn't have enough
time because the amount of time, like you were saying,
like the bigger issue was in this example, I didn't
have three wolf packs to burn on my own, and
it's like, well, you should team up with a group
of three or you know, you know, you could probably
farm a bunch of other things to bring in that
(47:47):
would take down the rocketeer faster, but I only have
the hull cracker for the most part in like high
penetration bullets.
Speaker 6 (47:53):
And so again Hindsight's twenty twenty.
Speaker 8 (47:55):
And my point I just wanted to make was like
I actually really like the trial stuff.
Speaker 6 (48:00):
I was just saying, like, I feel like it.
Speaker 8 (48:01):
Could maybe it's about how you got to extract you know,
it feels.
Speaker 5 (48:06):
Like your opinion is good because a lot of it
does reflect a lot of what people have issues with
the game. And like, yeah, I've done two undred hours
and I've found a single blueprint for that grenade that
is very good at taking out the rockets here, and
I do legitimately think that that is an issue endgame
and it really and I think blueprints for those who
(48:26):
don't play the game, blueprints are things you find once
and it allows you to craft them endlessly. For example,
this one blueprint basically lets you craft let's put in
Dessie terms, let you craft Galahorn, which is incredibly good
on all the flying stuff. And then when you have
a trial it says the flying shit. You just crafting
galahrns and you go on and shreat rockets and everything
(48:48):
and and you're done.
Speaker 10 (48:50):
Fran doesn't have it.
Speaker 8 (48:50):
I had it, so it's like, yeah, yeah, the blueprints
really for sure? Yeah, Like I'm lucky I have an anvil, right,
I actually have a betinaz, which at least for penetration off.
Speaker 5 (49:01):
I think the interesting part of this conversation is like
I was saying, oh, you know, blueprints should be easy,
you should be able to get this and that, and
then someone in my chat was like, well, you know,
we're kind of we're asking this in descine like not
everyone should get everything like you need to. You need to
chase them there, like need to work towards it, like
you know, I don't want to just hand everything out
to everyone.
Speaker 10 (49:21):
And I was like, but you need a.
Speaker 6 (49:22):
Pass for some of that important stuff and that and that.
Speaker 8 (49:25):
Yeah, maybe, yeah, maybe that's the question here is like
do you actually need wolf packs to like get a
three star on a night raid rocketeer run as solo?
Speaker 6 (49:33):
Right that?
Speaker 8 (49:34):
And if you're like, yes, you need to bring wolf packs,
I'd be like, well, yeah, that's why I keep feeling it.
Speaker 5 (49:39):
I would say that I would one hundred percent you
need to bring you need to either find wolf packs
or you need to craft them to achieve a three
star and one hundred percent on a on a lead board,
you you would need to have a whole team doing it.
Speaker 8 (49:54):
Yeah, and maybe maybe to cap this off out of
curiosity in your two hundred or so hours, how many
blueprints do you have?
Speaker 6 (49:59):
Do you have an? I know, because they're seventy four
in the game.
Speaker 10 (50:05):
Not off the top of my head, I'd probably have
onder half.
Speaker 6 (50:11):
Yeah, but that yeah, I mean exactly, they really seem
like they.
Speaker 10 (50:14):
I've been done two epic weapons, wolf Back One's Potato.
Speaker 8 (50:18):
So yeah, yeah, I've been stuck at like twenty two
for a long time. I just got to my twenty
third and it definitely some of it, I think is
in relation to charals. It feels like they've got some
blueprints trapped in there, which part of that's really cool,
But then I feel like, man, I do so many
night raids and high value areas, and like it made
(50:40):
it feels like you got to like look up stuff
on YouTube to find a blueprint, and I'm like, and
I don't want free blueprints either, and so That's where
I'm kind of frustrated with the.
Speaker 6 (50:47):
Game as well.
Speaker 8 (50:48):
I'm like, dude, I'm doing all these runs and I'm
just getting more mats and stuff, which is great, but
I've way, you know, it was probably hour fifty was
the last time I was getting lots of those moments
of like bring you know, you're getting a blueprint, though
it feels like they intentionally throttle it when you're like
a third of the way through or something, which.
Speaker 6 (51:05):
I don't love.
Speaker 8 (51:06):
And I know people do argue that what you were saying,
it's like, well, that's kind of the meta of this season.
That's your build, and I'm like, yeah, but there's stuff
that you really need, like yeah, wolf backgrounds.
Speaker 6 (51:15):
It's taken away from my gameplay enjoyment for sure. Really sorry.
Speaker 5 (51:22):
Yeah, they called wolf pack grenades and when they explode
homing missiles from Gallahorn, they're like the little they.
Speaker 10 (51:32):
Explode and these little wolf.
Speaker 6 (51:34):
Packs they're awesome out and super sat.
Speaker 10 (51:38):
Yeah, it's very satisfied to use.
Speaker 11 (51:40):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (51:41):
Look, I agree with you when it comes to balancing
on on blueprints, but I also like challenge points when
people are like, you know, said the whole shot me
in the back is like, yeah, welcome to extraction.
Speaker 10 (51:50):
Yeah, yeah, that's part of the game.
Speaker 8 (51:53):
And I'm not condemning that. And you're right, like I
set traps down, like I've done that. I think I
don't know if you're here. Last time, I was telling us,
worry about the apricots, dude, the fruit jackass if anyone
remembers my last story.
Speaker 6 (52:05):
But yeah, I like that.
Speaker 8 (52:07):
I actually like setting up traps and but it's it's
it's it takes a lot of time to get the
experience as well as the materials to do all that. Hey,
you guys, welcome to I mean speaking of wolf Bag,
I mean should we I'd like to talk about Yeah, No,
I want.
Speaker 3 (52:26):
To talk about didn't Metroid Prime launch today? Anybody play
that it?
Speaker 2 (52:30):
Did? I have an open copy?
Speaker 3 (52:33):
Unopened?
Speaker 4 (52:34):
Okay, I want to hear them about it, but nobody's
played it yet, right.
Speaker 2 (52:41):
No, No, I can't wait to jump about the story.
Speaker 6 (52:46):
Switch one or two?
Speaker 5 (52:47):
Yeah, switch, I'm about to give it away.
Speaker 2 (52:55):
I have a game, though, I wouldn't mind talking about
real real quick, because nobody else is gonna care about
this game. But it's called ball x Pit. I think people,
Oh no it you love it?
Speaker 10 (53:09):
This game unstayed next pest haven't. But yeah, it's great.
Speaker 1 (53:16):
So it's like a it's like a combination of Vampire
Survivors and Arcanoid where you're not necessarily bouncing a ball
up and down, up and down like a uh a
game screen. You're shooting balls instead, so you don't have
to catch the ball. It's I think it's the main
(53:37):
difference between like Arcanoid and in this game.
Speaker 10 (53:40):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (53:41):
But you are also like kind of on the same
upgrade grade path as you are a Vampire Survivors, So
you'll randomly like level up or not randomly, but as
you gain experience, you'll you'll level up and you'll have
a choice of like different upgrades that are randomly presented
to you. And as you progress, like kind of on
the like the the larger meta game than you are
(54:03):
presented with better and better upgrades and your characters get
more more powerful as you go. But it's an extremely
satisfying gameplay loop. I would say it does have like
a base building aspect to it, which I just couldn't
care less about, Like really, no, I can't, I just
(54:24):
can't get into it.
Speaker 10 (54:25):
That was kind of interesting.
Speaker 1 (54:26):
Yeah, I just want to I just want to bounce
the balls against the walls, try and destroy as many.
Speaker 2 (54:34):
Enemies as I can, Like I am reallyazy.
Speaker 5 (54:37):
Think about the bass building is you have to bounce
balls to build stuff? Yes, you do so, like it
applies the same mechanic where you like Age of Empires
or something, you put the blueprint down the and they're
like the the beams go up, but you need the
workers to go there, and you bounce the workers and
you have to pass.
Speaker 10 (54:58):
I've got to pass.
Speaker 5 (54:58):
Through the of land to build it. So there is
a little bit of strategy and when you're building stuff
to make sure you've got stuff lined up so when
you rickish everything around you actually build your base.
Speaker 10 (55:11):
But yeah, I mean the part of the game's good too.
Speaker 2 (55:16):
It is.
Speaker 1 (55:16):
It is very satisfying gameplay, looped ought like I really
do have fun with it. It's one of those games
where just like Vampire Survivors did to me, where I'm
just constantly like, oh, one more, try like this. I
think even more so than Vampires Fibers is there's just
more if Sometimes Vampires Vivors could really feel like luck
of the draw as far as the what upgrades.
Speaker 2 (55:38):
Did I get?
Speaker 1 (55:39):
And like oh, this just wasn't my run, whereas this
very much feels like, look if I approached this correctly,
like and the levels are much more the levels are
pretty predictable, like you can learn the levels, and you
can learn like kind of the boss fights and like
what's coming, and you could really like kind of get
(56:01):
good at a level, and then when you try a
new character or you don't get the upgrades that you
have last time, you can kind of like adapt to it.
Speaker 2 (56:10):
It's really fun. It's it's quite a good game.
Speaker 10 (56:14):
Maybe a lot mass Switch. I should have got on
Switch not stay.
Speaker 2 (56:17):
Yeah, it's a perfect switch game. Absolutely, Yeah.
Speaker 10 (56:21):
Nice.
Speaker 6 (56:22):
Nice.
Speaker 4 (56:23):
My silly casual game lately has been RV there yet.
I don't know if you guys have played, if you
enjoyed any man, somebody.
Speaker 3 (56:33):
Well, we've got like a group.
Speaker 4 (56:36):
Of six of us that liked the game together and
that game is only for four, so we modeled it.
We got six of us in there. It's been it's
just been silly, goofy fun, but.
Speaker 6 (56:48):
A loop of the gameplay. Again.
Speaker 4 (56:51):
Basically, the idea is that you have an RV and
you need to get it. The road is like the
road's out of commission, and you're just trying to get
out of the wilderness mountains and everything. So you need
to survive the perils of the wilderness and get your
RV out without having a proper road to travel, So
you're winching it to things. You're taking it on dirt roads.
(57:15):
You've got bears and snakes, and if you need a
boost of energy, you look like the guy from up,
like the old man from up, and you're chugging light
beers to get the quick little speed boosts, smoke a.
Speaker 3 (57:30):
Cigarette real quick and all.
Speaker 4 (57:32):
There's all kinds of silly ways to get little quick
little buffs and and whatnot.
Speaker 3 (57:36):
But it's just silly fun.
Speaker 6 (57:38):
Yeah, it looks it looks like it's like a puzzle.
Speaker 4 (57:40):
Solving game with an RV, and you gotta do maintenance
on the RV as well along the way.
Speaker 8 (57:45):
It seems like it's a slight twist on like snow
Runner and uh, you know what's the new one called
Expedition something.
Speaker 6 (57:56):
But yeah, yeah, oh yeah, I have a peak either.
Speaker 2 (58:00):
Have you guys heard the term friend slop?
Speaker 10 (58:03):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (58:04):
I hate it? But what friend slop?
Speaker 7 (58:10):
Frand is just not on the internet, I know, which is.
Speaker 3 (58:13):
Really I'm in the dark. What is this we're talking about.
Speaker 2 (58:17):
It's meant to describe games like and among us and.
Speaker 4 (58:24):
Get your buzz together and play something stupid kind of thing.
Speaker 1 (58:27):
Yeah, but I think it also I don't think it's
necessarily meant to be derogatory. Sounds like, but it definitely
like I mean, like the term slop I think just
is you know, kind.
Speaker 13 (58:39):
Of like of course derogatory, but it does accurately describe
like a game that you know, the the physics.
Speaker 2 (58:51):
Probably aren't on and it looks like it might have
been kind of like thrown together in three months as
opposed to like years of like dedic hated you know.
Speaker 1 (59:01):
Like, so it does kind of work. But I just
don't like the term because of the slop, you know.
Speaker 5 (59:08):
Yeah, I think people are trying to imply there was
less thought or development or it was quickly made.
Speaker 11 (59:15):
Just it's like, oh, another friends, they're gonna make like
millions of dollars, and then I got go making another one.
Speaker 4 (59:22):
I got plenty of friends slop card games and board
games in the cabinet too. It's not a good game,
but it's silly. For one night you have of a
couple of beers and you're chilledren with the buds.
Speaker 5 (59:33):
Yeah yeah, yeah, that spending ten bucks to have a
good knight with you Mace, you know, yeah.
Speaker 2 (59:41):
A different game kind of to rotate in and out often.
Speaker 10 (59:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (59:45):
Yeah, it's like bad movie night. Yeah, like but that
that feels better, right, like the term bad movie night.
You're like, well, yeah, but like we're we don't want
anything serious. Yeah, maybe it needs a different term, because
I mean, AI slop in particular, I think is what
everybody thinks of immediately, just those two terms next to
each other.
Speaker 6 (01:00:02):
You're like, no, don't like that.
Speaker 2 (01:00:04):
Yeah, I don't know. This a lot of fun. Renegades,
Are we there yet?
Speaker 4 (01:00:14):
Yeah, it's silly, it's it's nothing like I get tired
of it sometimes, but you know it's fun for an
hour just to goof off have a good time.
Speaker 2 (01:00:23):
So Renegades.
Speaker 11 (01:00:27):
New Destiny expansion has launched. This is a collaboration with
Star Wars now just to just to say.
Speaker 7 (01:00:36):
In case anyone is confused, this is not a Star
Wars story.
Speaker 11 (01:00:39):
It is Star Wars working officially with Bungee on making something.
Speaker 7 (01:00:44):
That feels kind of Star warsy but is still using
like Destiny universe stuff.
Speaker 11 (01:00:50):
Destiny Friend's Desty front read friend then yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:00:54):
Friendslop Destiny Friends, Destiny Lore. Destiny characters definitely stored Disney slap.
Speaker 5 (01:01:03):
So it's not it's not like what they did when
they added the Halo stuff, where it was kind of
saying there's a multiverse and like Halo exists in the
other universe and stuff's come through the portal and that's
how you have master a chiefs pistol.
Speaker 7 (01:01:18):
It's more here, you know this Mylon the Proxic Order, right.
Speaker 10 (01:01:23):
Yeah, they're Jedi.
Speaker 5 (01:01:26):
I've actually called Jedi or they just.
Speaker 11 (01:01:30):
And like there's lightsabers, but they're called Proxic Blades.
Speaker 6 (01:01:34):
Yeah, okay, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 11 (01:01:37):
They're they're talking about it in Destiny Lorn like Dredging
Bail is in there, but he is meant.
Speaker 10 (01:01:45):
To be Color Reynolds.
Speaker 12 (01:01:46):
He's kind of yeah, so yeah, is it angry boy?
Speaker 10 (01:01:52):
Yeah? Okay, Well I haven't playing it, so tell us
about a friend.
Speaker 8 (01:01:56):
Why don't TV has been watching a lot on it?
Maybe before I go, did you want to.
Speaker 4 (01:02:02):
Anything from the perspective of somebody who has not played
Destiny in about a year from the outside looking in,
I will say it looks like Destiny still doing Destiny
things where we get some really fun looking a new
suite of exotic armor pieces that do cool things. You
(01:02:24):
get the jet pack for the for the Titans.
Speaker 3 (01:02:26):
That's cool.
Speaker 4 (01:02:27):
Like some of that stuff just looks cool and fun.
The whole Star Wars motif I think, I think works
for Destiny. It doesn't really break the third wall.
Speaker 3 (01:02:39):
Too much, I don't think.
Speaker 4 (01:02:41):
I mean, it's obviously a crossover thing, but it kind
of works within the world of Desty. It's it's fantastical
and futuristic, so it works the campaign. Some of my
things from the outside looking in, where I wanted to know,
is the campaign good?
Speaker 3 (01:02:59):
I heard the campaign was, and.
Speaker 4 (01:03:01):
I watched some of the missions fun but fast and
not hard. It was really just leaning into let's just
do a fun Star Wars thing.
Speaker 3 (01:03:10):
Six to eight hours was what I was hearing, and.
Speaker 4 (01:03:13):
The legendary difficulty mode was a cake walk, is what
I was told.
Speaker 3 (01:03:17):
Would you agree?
Speaker 8 (01:03:18):
Well, I haven't played a ton yet have an adjacent
Destiny is still crashing PC Steam issue thing which I'm
still trying to fix, So yeah, I can get into
it if you want, But yeah, I don't spoil anything
for me.
Speaker 3 (01:03:31):
If no, I won't spoil no spoilers for sure.
Speaker 4 (01:03:35):
By the way, if you're watching or listening, I certainly
don't not intending to spoil any story beats. But it
seems like it's quick, not overly challenging, really leans into
the Star Wars thing, but isn't so from what I've seen,
it doesn't look like it's really relying on the mechanic
side of things to be overly Star Wars E where
(01:03:55):
you had Edge of Fate which was less really lean
into the Metroid Vanya, let's do the or spark everywhere
that we possibly can shove this thing into the game.
Speaker 3 (01:04:04):
We're gonna shove it in there.
Speaker 4 (01:04:05):
And Renegades looks like it's it's more like Star Wars
is the lens through which you're seeing this new campaign
and changes the way you experienced it, for sure, But
it's not like trying to shove it down your throat,
like you're not every mission going to be driving an
atst you know, stuff like that. I do think that
(01:04:26):
the whole Lightsaber thing looks really cool, being able to
change your colors, and I like that also full sending
on cosmetics, I always thought it was silly when we
got cosmetics. We're like, we're trying to kind of hint
at this other thing. And then they got to the
point where they're like, no, let's just do it. This
is the Dungeons of Dragons crossover. So you're gonna you're
just gonna straight up one to one look like a
(01:04:47):
Displacer beast. And they did the same thing with Renegades,
where they're like, no, you're you're gonna look like din
Jar and or you're gonna look like Bocatan, or you're
gonna look like Boba Fett straight up one to one
copy of the armor.
Speaker 3 (01:04:59):
And I I appreciate that. I don't know about you.
Do you think does that break the third wall for you?
Does that kind of screw over your immersion?
Speaker 8 (01:05:06):
So far, I haven't seen anything like that, so there
may be more of that. I mean, I think the
at st you know, cabal things, whatever they're called. That's
like slightly and in like seeing a cut scene with
a choreographed the lightsaber practic blade fight.
Speaker 6 (01:05:26):
You know you can't help but be like that.
Speaker 8 (01:05:27):
One really like well, but it's cool and it doesn't
feel like out of place. Because Destiny was inspired by
Star Wars in the first place. But I could see
some people being like a little bit jolted because, like me,
the ATSDS in particular is like practically one to them,
but they're cabal.
Speaker 6 (01:05:43):
Things or something.
Speaker 8 (01:05:44):
But but it doesn't bother me at all, because you know,
once you hear from Bail and you're like, well that's
one hundred percent Kyle Ren inspiration, you can't not think
about it. But I don't see it as a bad thing.
It actually yeah, go ahead, well I'll go.
Speaker 5 (01:06:00):
I think the issue is you get to like the
notification of games.
Speaker 10 (01:06:05):
Where it's every expansion it's.
Speaker 5 (01:06:07):
Just like a collab rather than them doubling down on
their own thing. You know, like if you look at Warframe,
like Warframe doesn't do collab. It's like it's like this
is our design, this is our theme. You either love
or hate it, Like this is how our armor looks,
is how enemies look. You know, we are our own
genre game, and we're not like compromising on that to
(01:06:29):
make our characters look like different franchises.
Speaker 6 (01:06:32):
Yeah. Yeah, I think the good news is what I've seen.
Speaker 8 (01:06:36):
So far is you know, Destiny after it finished up
things with the final shape and the late and dark
story and all that, you know, I think it's finding
its footing, and frankly, what I see here is, man,
the team needs a moment of inspiration, a moment of
support from the higher levels to be like, don't f
this up, you know, some real attention on Destiny, And like,
(01:06:59):
that's what I think when I jump into Star Wars Renegades.
Speaker 6 (01:07:02):
Now, I want to be.
Speaker 8 (01:07:03):
Clear, right, I love the way that like it opens
because it's, you know, I loaded up, I'm on a
menu with like that you know, the strings and like
the the you know, flutes in the background from Star Wars,
but it's blending with like the og Destiny theme and
then boom you get straight into like some of the
best cut scenes that I've seen yet in Destiny, and
(01:07:26):
not for story content necessarily, but from just man, I
can't believe they continue to support that team and let
them cook because I would have assumed right that they
would have stripped out like as much budget as possible.
They're spending some real money on this stuff. Whether or
not there's enough in you know, Renegades throughout I can't
(01:07:46):
speak to yet, but but yeah, so basically right, it
starts the way I love it when I come to
a new expansion is what I'm getting on what I
want to do. I do not want to load into
the Destinations and then pick a mission. I do not
want to be sent to the Tower. I just want
to star art the new experience, and like the menus there,
we pop right into like really good cut scenes set up.
They have the recap in there, which I've constantly said, yes,
(01:08:10):
do these every time, and they're really well done. Now
they've actually you really see like the rhythm and they
understand like, oh, this is a really good way to
start an expansion.
Speaker 6 (01:08:19):
And then you like literally jump into the first mission and.
Speaker 8 (01:08:22):
You're literally landing, you know, with the I'm not gonna
spoil anything major, but you're landing with the Drifter on
Death Star basically, and it fits like yeahs TV I
think was saying like it just like yeah, you know, it's.
Speaker 6 (01:08:35):
Star Wars, but it looks like this really.
Speaker 8 (01:08:38):
Like kind of yeah, the cabal who's hidden away into
this new factioner forget what the explanation is, but it works,
you know, but it's totally still Star Wars inspiration. And
then you realize they're instead of you know, I think
everyone's fear is like, oh, they're gonna put Star Wars
in Destiny.
Speaker 6 (01:08:56):
No, they're they're inspired by.
Speaker 8 (01:08:58):
It, first of all, and it's really I think fired
up the artists and the writers and all this.
Speaker 6 (01:09:03):
And I'm just speaking to the first mission right now,
by the way.
Speaker 8 (01:09:05):
So but anyway, within that, literally you're doing homage after homage,
like one to one, like, hey, if you've seen Star Wars,
like yeah, or were you watching did you see that shot?
Like yep, that was literally shot for shot inspired by
Star Wars.
Speaker 6 (01:09:23):
So like an example without.
Speaker 8 (01:09:24):
Ruining is like they're just in the old I forget
why the ship is all rickety, but it's like a
much more rickety ship with the drifter.
Speaker 6 (01:09:32):
Maybe that's just how drifture ship is.
Speaker 8 (01:09:33):
But the way it's like shaking and everything's rattling and
the sparks are flying in the cinematography is like you're
just not you normally don't see.
Speaker 6 (01:09:41):
I think all that inspiration and nuance and so it
feels really cool. It feels very Star Wars inspired and
I love that.
Speaker 8 (01:09:48):
But anyway, the first mission is like substantial, really amazing music.
It's still just Destiny, I would say, but all that
inspiration it made me feel really good. This is the
type of stuff I like to come back for. So
you get through that first mission, it's got like a
pretty challenging boss. I was on Legend, but it wasn't
insane or anything. I thought it was fine, not actually
(01:10:10):
as I would say, imbalanced.
Speaker 6 (01:10:12):
As to me. Edge of Fate at.
Speaker 8 (01:10:13):
First was pretty like a little rough on Legend and
then it's moved out. But yeah, that was like super hyped.
But then it loads me into the Tower after that mission,
and even worse because they still have issues. I don't
know if it's just on steam or what, but it's
like black screens for like two minutes with the little
loading uh huh, because now they're dropping like the campaign
(01:10:36):
and just your experience for like we're just trying to
load you into a social space in the tower to
literally by the way, to just go talk to Zavalla,
and I get no major spots if I was like, well,
I don't totally approve of you doing this outside our
you know, system of things, but okay, then.
Speaker 6 (01:10:53):
That's the only reason you go there.
Speaker 8 (01:10:56):
And then it has to load you into the new
social space, which is like basically where's the canteen?
Speaker 6 (01:11:02):
Again? Is that most Eley.
Speaker 13 (01:11:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (01:11:06):
So then they load you into there, which is pretty exciting,
but that whole thing it starts to like and it
introduced me to the order menu, which is like the
new live service bounty system, right, And so personally I'm
not there for that in Destiny, and I think I'm
at odds with other players for that. But I'm like,
oh man, I was so hyped after that fight, and
(01:11:28):
you now you want me to go walk around like
this most Ezily inspired canteen And I do like the inspiration,
but it just kind of slowed things down for me anyway.
Speaker 6 (01:11:36):
Then it starts to pick up again, but then they
have to introduce.
Speaker 8 (01:11:38):
You to the new activity and so it's like well
owed into this, and then like the way points are
like you know how, like Destiny's at a point now
where there's all these player overlays and then there's like
the Diamond waypoint markers, but then there's like the seasonal
renegade marker, and you meant to make sure to track
(01:11:59):
your quest for things to work.
Speaker 6 (01:12:00):
Anyway, what I'm trying to share is I was just
like a little frustrated. I'm like, where am I supposed
to be going right now?
Speaker 8 (01:12:05):
Like it's just really like for a campaign expansion, right,
but you can, I know, well as somebody who's played
Destiny for you know, all of its existence and more
with the alpha and beta, like I'm used to it,
but it's it for me. It's a real buzzkill for
the pace and you can feel that, like well you
(01:12:25):
can to me, I feel the fishing lines of like hey,
like we want you to play for twenty hours a
week as well, like we don't want you to just
enjoy yourself for this eight to ten hours and check out,
and I'm like I kind of just want to join
myself for eight to ten hours to check out. So anyway,
unfortunately I have some like PC crashing issues. But he
get into the new activity and I was able, I think,
to do like the first step and then it wants
to like bring you back into it, so you kind
(01:12:47):
of getting back into that if I haven't done whatever
this second mission may be.
Speaker 6 (01:12:51):
But structurally, when I'm trying to impart, it's.
Speaker 8 (01:12:54):
Not like you just have like a mission and then
like another cool cut scene and you know, maybe you
do an activity and it throws you into the next
big cinematic moment.
Speaker 6 (01:13:04):
I don't know how long that.
Speaker 8 (01:13:05):
Is out, But it's kind of just back to old
destiny for now. But but it is fun and I
do enjoy it. It's funny how when I come back
to it now, when I do these activities, I'm.
Speaker 6 (01:13:17):
Like, it just feels so close to the album.
Speaker 8 (01:13:18):
There's so many enemies on screen, just you know, same
animation coming at you, and just like you want to
use whatever explosive perks you have, and it's kind of
enjoy but it starts to wash over me where there's
not quite.
Speaker 6 (01:13:33):
A new enough new things and ending that.
Speaker 8 (01:13:36):
Point, what I wanted to say was they did though,
as you may have seen in the vidoc the video docs,
they introduced like a new control option which is huge
and I do want to praise it, which is meaning
like on mouse and keyboard, you now there's a new
button that you're going to use when you're playing to
It's like the Gambit coin. You know, you flip up
(01:13:57):
this hologram of like a Gambit type and then you're
choosing one of your powers.
Speaker 6 (01:14:02):
You get two that you're gonna slot.
Speaker 8 (01:14:05):
But when you think about that, it's awesome because you
now have two more powers that layer on top of everything.
I think it's press into R three or something on
controller and.
Speaker 6 (01:14:14):
That is awesome. That is exactly what Destiny needs.
Speaker 8 (01:14:16):
It's more like more new stuff other than just like, hey,
this gun has another like heel clip explosive role that's
not exact of those perks, but it's similar. So so anyway, overall,
I'm really enjoying it if I can keep my PC
from crashing. But I'm not like in the live service
slowdown of like do this activity and then I kind
(01:14:37):
of just was hoping it was a little more through
line of like do this stuff for eight hours or
I don't know how long it is, and and then
you can kind of do the live service stuff.
Speaker 6 (01:14:45):
But we'll see where it goes.
Speaker 7 (01:14:47):
For me, I think I've heard a lot of really
good things.
Speaker 11 (01:14:50):
I just want to say, like, I've heard a lot
of really good stuff. I'm not super locked in, but
in terms of like people in my community who were
talking talking about it, they come in chat and I'm like,
how are you finding it? They're having a really good time,
and they're like, this is one of like the most
fun campaigns I've I've kind of experienced. So it seems
like people are having a good time with the guns
(01:15:13):
and the lightsabers and the campaign.
Speaker 8 (01:15:15):
So yeah, like I don't even have a lightsaber. I've
heard there's some surprises. I was looking at like I
think Twitch activity and I saw somebody who was in
sort of like some ascended ascendant style realm, which I
always like. And so there's a lot that I don't know.
So this is very incomplete impressions right now. It's bare
in mind, but I would really what I wanted above
all to say is like if you have, you know,
(01:15:36):
the recent pass for the year, or you're just you know,
money is no object or whatever, and you're like.
Speaker 6 (01:15:41):
I just wouldn't mind check it out.
Speaker 8 (01:15:42):
Just I'm telling you, just playing that first mission at
least it might only take you thirty minutes or whatever.
Speaker 6 (01:15:47):
But it's totally cool, and see what you think.
Speaker 4 (01:15:51):
One of the biggest challenges for me to overcome with
Destiny is this feeling of there's just nothing they could
throw at you. There would canonically make sense for it
to be a challenge.
Speaker 3 (01:16:03):
Does that make sense?
Speaker 4 (01:16:04):
Like, because when you think about the lore of Destiny
and all of these like mythological figures and entities that
we've they've only showed up in like Laura bits every
now and then then an expansion came out and we
met this character and they were supposed to be the biggest,
most strongest, most powerful of their kind or whatever. We've
we have outgrown everybody in the Destiny universe.
Speaker 3 (01:16:26):
We have killed or X. Yeah, we have twice.
Speaker 4 (01:16:30):
We've killed Croda, We've killed Atheon, We've killed like.
Speaker 3 (01:16:35):
You think of like we look at it.
Speaker 6 (01:16:37):
We've killed the freaking Witness and shattered.
Speaker 3 (01:16:40):
I feel like, where do.
Speaker 4 (01:16:41):
You You can't just keep This is like what happens
with TV shows, like really good series. Eventually you hit
a point where they just have to end because you
have to keep one upping yourself every season. You beat
the big bad guy. The hero beat the big bad
guy last season. Now you need a new bigger, batter
bad guy. And then you have to keep raising the
(01:17:01):
ante and raising the ante. And then this is one
of the things that Beife talked about in his review
of the Renegade stuff. He's like, I had a lot
of fun with it, don't get me wrong, but thematically
the challenge is that I have a new NPC calling
me Rookie, and it's like, dude, the Guardian is at
(01:17:22):
what point does the Guardian get the respect that they
are owed for everything they have accomplished. They have literally
shifted the power balance of the entire universe on its head.
Speaker 6 (01:17:33):
I mean, they do call you a weapon, which is
pretty nice, and so it's.
Speaker 4 (01:17:37):
Like, even so, I'm kind of liked that with Live
service games now kind of having Destiny as a case study.
But I'm at that point where I'm like, Okay, I
feel like I feel like Live service games need to
have a shelf life where it's like, eventually they need
an expiration date where your character needs to be retired
(01:17:59):
as the player. You eventually need to step out of
that character's shoes because that character is now there's nothing
that you can throw at them canonically, that makes sense
for it to be a challenge unless you just start
going more cosmic, more god like more, and then it
just becomes like unrelatable.
Speaker 3 (01:18:16):
Does that make sense?
Speaker 11 (01:18:18):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:18:18):
I think I really want a game that's grounded. I
want to feel threatened by a grunt, you know what
I mean.
Speaker 3 (01:18:24):
So eventually, I.
Speaker 4 (01:18:24):
Feel like you just need to shift focus out of
that character shoes into a new character shoes. And that's
why sequels exist or new games entire I think.
Speaker 5 (01:18:34):
I know I've praise Warframe a lot, and I often do,
but I think because I think they solve a lot
of these problems. And I think Warframe stories solve this
problem because they there was his overarching you know, nemesis,
but they just kind of told really good character stories.
They also did something that I thought Destiny should always do,
is like a flashback story line, like you know, like, no,
(01:18:54):
I don't want to tell stories about big batties. Why
not give us a dock age? Why not give us
you know, when we be lord Sharks, you know, and
tell some of those background stories that are not always
like the big bad villain all the time, that are
just kind of cool stories sitting in the back, in
the background that you just read about rather than doing it.
And I think that's where a lot of the interesting
(01:19:14):
stuff happens. And if you go too many times so
like big bombastic villain is always destroying the universe and
like you can kind of feel pretty repetitive. Whereas some
of the Warframe like introduce a new ability, gave you
a whole backstory to your like operator, they like introduce
(01:19:34):
new law that your warframe is operated by a person
inside that can like transfer into it, and they let
you play that whole scenario out. They let you go
be this kid on a ship and you were like
one of those scenes you're like doing tests and stuff
on a spaceship on a colony ship, you know, And
that's that's like, you know, world building without having a
big bad villain all the time.
Speaker 4 (01:19:56):
Yeah, and like Marvel has had that issue with some
of their movies too. No, I mean, like I see
the I mean there's other creative ways to introduce the
bad guy that's not just bigger, bitter, better, stronger.
Speaker 3 (01:20:09):
I think of.
Speaker 4 (01:20:11):
Marvel did this with the Winter Soldier story arc in
their movies because everything was getting so big and cosmic
with Thanos and then suddenly you just have this normal
dude that broke the whole Avengers apart with Civil War
where he comes in and just creates a rift, and
that was his whole thing, was just creating a rift.
(01:20:32):
And so I like when you have big bads that
are like that where they create moral dilemmas, because where
you fall on ethical and morality stuff can really present
a challenge.
Speaker 5 (01:20:49):
Yeah, but every villain, yeah, a little bit of that.
Speaker 4 (01:20:58):
But I feel like we just had the whole, a
whole story arc for ten years. That was all about escalation,
wasn't it. Because we started pretty basic with let's fight
the Cabal on Mars, and then things got bigger from
raid to raid, and then it was we're fighting the
disciples of the Witness until eventually we take out the
(01:21:20):
Witness themselves. Like everything just kept escalating to this higher
tier like it was a prince, a high prince, and
then eventually we fought the Hive king and then it
was now, well there's something more powerful than that. Oh,
we had the Witness and his disciples, so we had
to escalate again. It just kept being escalation, and I've
(01:21:40):
kind of I'm kind of fatigued by it.
Speaker 11 (01:21:43):
I suppose, well Chat is saying that the campaign has
fixed all of the complaints pretty much, or getting to
the there with what you're saying, TV. So I'd be
curious when friend finish it if you can, because you
you don't stop crashing. But yeah, people was saying TV
(01:22:06):
is literally talking about renegades.
Speaker 7 (01:22:07):
I have no idea about my trust.
Speaker 4 (01:22:11):
You guys probably know not probably you guys definitely know
more about it than I do. At this point, I'm
just speaking from the perspective that someone who is disengaged
not actively engaged, because I felt like I had a
good capstone, you know, to.
Speaker 10 (01:22:24):
You watched Bob's review of Renne Guides.
Speaker 5 (01:22:26):
Did Bob not say that rene Guides kind of solves
this issue of having the big battle of the time,
because Chat's kind of signing that that I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:22:33):
Want to I'm trying to stay away from story spoilers. Okay,
I will say.
Speaker 4 (01:22:39):
That I thought it was fun but not challenging, and
he felt like the new NPCs did not give the
Guardian the respect that they deserve considering what we have accomplished,
considering where we've been and what we've done and who
we've taken down.
Speaker 8 (01:22:58):
Yeah, I mean it's interesting because what little I've played,
and you know, I'm not a law master.
Speaker 6 (01:23:02):
As much as we joke about it.
Speaker 8 (01:23:04):
Like it just it feels like a side story and
to a point edge of fate. I know that it
wasn't and it's settings up setting up something bigger with
the nine and all that stuff, but uh, I guess
it's for me. It's Yeah, it's always different because like I,
I don't care what stories you want to tell. I
mean it's important to me, but like I'm looking for
new gameplay, Like I'm I've been playing the same.
Speaker 6 (01:23:25):
Game for eleven, twelve years whatever it's been now.
Speaker 8 (01:23:28):
Uh, and so for me, I don't care how good
your story is, Like you're not gonna get me to
come back if like the level design is an awesome
the sort of tactile feel of like moment to moment,
and so yeah, I liked I liked the first mission
because mostly just the level design and this and the
cinematic implementation from music to graphic that was really cool.
(01:23:48):
But we didn't do anything new for Destiny at all.
Then the activity, like I said, introduces a little something new.
So from the story side, uh, yeah, we'll see. I
feel a little discombobulated because it just feels like I'm
watching and Kyle Rin when I see Bill right now.
And I don't mind it, but part of me, yeah,
I'll be very curious to see where it goes. But
I would I understand your sentiment though, and I think
(01:24:13):
I think you're right in the core of it. We'll
see if they've solved it, like some folks have been
saying here, But but I want.
Speaker 6 (01:24:19):
Gameplay that's that's less of a concern for me what
I want it.
Speaker 8 (01:24:21):
In other words, when I come out the other end
of this, I want to be like, oh, man, like
they they added all these cool like gameplay moments to
the campaign or is it just going to feel like
they told like kind of a cool Destiny Star Wars
inspired story, which, sure it'll be fine, but I think
that game game play.
Speaker 11 (01:24:38):
I think these perspectives are good because, like we can
see that Destined Destin doesn't seem to be getting any
new players, so I don't know if it's going to
be easier for them to get new players or to
maybe kind of bring old players back. But I think
the perspective of someone who isn't playing and they're like
this is what I really need to see change in
(01:24:59):
order for me.
Speaker 7 (01:24:59):
To like interested at all. I think I think that's
interesting to talk about too.
Speaker 6 (01:25:05):
Do you have an own it at all? TV?
Speaker 4 (01:25:08):
I own the DLC, Yeah, just because I still get
sent the stuff as a creator.
Speaker 8 (01:25:13):
Yeah, well exactly, but meaning I know that, you know,
you do technically have a lot of other stuff going on,
but maybe sometime in between RV there yet and other stuff,
like like I would really for this one, just like
meaning if you're what I wonder, actually, this is a
real question for you.
Speaker 6 (01:25:28):
Are you sort of afraid that you'll be.
Speaker 8 (01:25:30):
Pulled in enough that you're gonna start doing things that
maybe you're like, ah, why am I even doing this much?
Because what I'm getting at is like, just do that
first mission and like drop off even I'll just be
curious what you think of just that first mission. It's
like a very compact like thirty sixty minutes.
Speaker 4 (01:25:45):
I struggle with this sport checking out for me where
I know what I'm logging into when I fire a
game up, and sometimes like for example, Borderlands four, I
knew when I fired this game up it had an
expiration date for me. From the first time I locked in,
I was like, I'm not going to play this forever.
I would have play this until I'm done. I played,
(01:26:06):
I just looked steams over here seventy five hours of
Orlands Sport, and I got to a point where I was.
Speaker 3 (01:26:10):
Like, I feel like I've done everything I want to do.
Speaker 4 (01:26:12):
In this game, and I felt very satisfied because it
was just a story game that I played. And then
I've got games like Destiny which are branded as live
service ongoing games, and so when I log into a
live service game, I have a different set of expectations
about what I'm going to do and what I want
(01:26:33):
out of that experience. And so for me, one of
the challenges with Destiny has often been I experienced a
really cool campaign, but then I never go do any
of that stuff again, you know what I mean. And
a live service game, to me, I'm looking for a
treadmill activity that I really love. It's just it's well
(01:26:54):
supported and I can get and I can engage with
it at any.
Speaker 3 (01:26:57):
Point in any day. Just log in, do the thing,
log out out.
Speaker 4 (01:27:00):
And that's what like Crucible was for me for a
long time. Even doing some ritual activities in PvE like
your strikes and even to like doing the dungeon grinds
and stuff like that with the guys, I enjoyed that
treadmill for a really long time. And my concern with
something like Renegades, for example, is this sounds by all accounts,
so I'm not trying to knock it. It sounds like it's
(01:27:22):
a really good campaign.
Speaker 3 (01:27:23):
Most people are. I don't know that.
Speaker 4 (01:27:24):
I've heard a lot of negative stuff about the campaign.
I've heard some nitpicky stuff, and most people seem to
be really enjoying it.
Speaker 3 (01:27:29):
But it's hard for.
Speaker 4 (01:27:30):
Me to make that mental leap to thinking about it
as just a concise package of content. I'm going to
experience and then and then log out.
Speaker 3 (01:27:40):
Yeah, like these other games. Does that make sense?
Speaker 7 (01:27:42):
And no, definitely makes It might not.
Speaker 4 (01:27:44):
Be fair of me, It might it might be very
unfair of me. I don't know, but I have trouble
making that distinction in my head.
Speaker 6 (01:27:51):
I thought it was a perfect response.
Speaker 8 (01:27:53):
Like that's why I asked, right, I'm out here, I'm
like trying to sell people on like if you've played
tons of Destiny, like you should just hop in and
sort of see what they're doing with this first mission again,
is really all I can speak to it.
Speaker 6 (01:28:02):
It's just it's really you can see.
Speaker 8 (01:28:04):
The heart in it, and I you know, if you
have the time and the budgett C.
Speaker 6 (01:28:08):
It's like it's a quick thirty sixty.
Speaker 8 (01:28:10):
But that's what's so interesting is I'm trying to play
Destiny and have been for like the past five to
six years, the opposite of what how you and and
a lot of people, I think the majority of players
play it, and that is the irony is like I'm
just trying to put in that first like twenty hours,
I get sucked into a few things and then I'm like, cool,
(01:28:30):
I'll come back next expansion.
Speaker 6 (01:28:32):
And I've talked about that a lot. And that's the ironies.
Speaker 8 (01:28:34):
I don't think most of the player base is trying
to get that sure, just kind of it's kind of
funny to hear. And that's why I think they've had
a lot of players drop off because of exactly what
you're saying that no matter how good the campaign might feel,
they need to hear about how good the grind is
and the lude and like the new activity or whatever.
Speaker 6 (01:28:54):
I guess this is interesting.
Speaker 3 (01:28:56):
Yeah, all right, TV.
Speaker 2 (01:29:03):
When you talked about TV shows that escalate or have
to like keep escalating, it may be kind of stranger
things like right away, yes, I have not watched any
of that. I'm standing mm hmm.
Speaker 3 (01:29:19):
Yeah, it is. It does present a challenge.
Speaker 4 (01:29:21):
But I feel like this is this is probably no
spoilers obviously, but I feel like the stranger things like, yeah,
this is a good season to go out on, because
you know, going bigger from here would just I don't
think that would be good for it.
Speaker 2 (01:29:33):
Yeah, yeah, but I have that with an arc that
was pre written, you know, like, so, yeah, that's right
that they can do that. You know, they don't have
to have seven seasons in a movie.
Speaker 4 (01:29:43):
M I have that with a fantasy novel series, The
stormlighte Archives by Brandon Sanderson. Fell in love with the
first book. I've loved the story the whole way. They
had a new book come out just let's just under
a year ago last holiday season, and that, to me
(01:30:04):
was my one big complaint about It's like, I love
these characters, but I feel like we just have to
keep escalating and now we're dealing with these godly cosmic powers.
Speaker 3 (01:30:12):
When it started out with a guy and a spear and.
Speaker 4 (01:30:16):
Depression, and I loved it, you know what I mean,
it was like just struggling through that ground level boots
on the ground, struggles, every day struggles of life. And
now it's just so it's so like you can't put
yourself on these characters shoes anymore because they've just grown
so big, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (01:30:35):
Yeah, so that's a recurring theme for me, I think.
Speaker 8 (01:30:39):
Oh and by the way, not to get back into
a bunch of destiny stuff, but I did forget to
mention the vaulting increase of like three hundred. Ultimately that
doesn't solve I want gear management and like some kind
of I don't know, dealing with loot and all your
gear is just still it takes all the time. But
it was awesome to log in and like I literally
didn't have to worry, like there was so much, just
threw everything, keep throwing everything in there and play.
Speaker 6 (01:31:00):
So for now I'm really happy untill I you know, probably.
Speaker 3 (01:31:03):
Play a four hours.
Speaker 8 (01:31:04):
Yeah, but but honestly, that was a really big increase,
just very helpful.
Speaker 2 (01:31:09):
The awful job of organizing your fault in making it
ever harder.
Speaker 6 (01:31:13):
Well we'll see that.
Speaker 8 (01:31:14):
I mean, but in the past it's like, oh, here's
like maybe an extra hunter. I'm like, that's not enough
to solve my current issues, Like, but this one is.
So again, major props due on that one for now
at least. And you know, they added a bunch of
like gear filters and stuff to the vault, which I personally,
I don't think it solves anything for me. So again,
what I'm looking for, it's almost like a workflow machine
(01:31:38):
of like looking at my gear in the game, you
know where it's tied to light gg and like, you know,
a bit unrealistic, but I'm like it's.
Speaker 6 (01:31:45):
So hard to go through loop.
Speaker 8 (01:31:48):
Yeah, or just like there's there's clearly old stuff where
it's like just you can just tell me at this point, Destiny.
These are all like outdated perks that were really not
supporting anymore.
Speaker 6 (01:31:57):
But like great just to lead them all. I don't
have to like search through it all, is the point? Anyway?
Speaker 2 (01:32:04):
We're up to see.
Speaker 7 (01:32:06):
Yeah next week? Yes, it is the Game Awards.
Speaker 2 (01:32:12):
So much? Is it Thursday?
Speaker 3 (01:32:16):
Are we dressing up?
Speaker 7 (01:32:16):
It's Thursday? Oh, I'm down to d week. Well up
to you, I'm down again.
Speaker 3 (01:32:21):
Are you gonna be with us? Are you gonna be
on site again? Frand you're gonna be reporting on site?
Speaker 6 (01:32:25):
I'll be reporting live from on site. Yeah.
Speaker 8 (01:32:28):
We'll see if I tune in with you guys, but yeah, no,
I'll be I'll be down.
Speaker 7 (01:32:31):
There like a room. You should just hang out with us.
Speaker 8 (01:32:35):
Yeah, call in for two hours and somebody's like sweet,
I'm sitting on the couch talking to myself on the phone.
Speaker 3 (01:32:43):
Now we got to fran live.
Speaker 11 (01:32:46):
So next week we will be here. I think pre
show starts at four.
Speaker 6 (01:32:51):
Yeah, it's usually four or four thirty, right, and then.
Speaker 11 (01:32:53):
Yeah, four four thirty pm Pacific, and then I think
it starts at like five pm like the actual show,
So it's like a little bit earlier start for the
podcast and we end a little bit earlier as well.
Speaker 8 (01:33:05):
So see how long this show is this year? I
mean I think it's normally still what like three hours?
It's about three I mean, not including the pre show.
By the way, that's pretty long.
Speaker 2 (01:33:15):
Has become one of my favorite things to do every year.
Speaker 10 (01:33:18):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (01:33:19):
Watch that.
Speaker 11 (01:33:22):
Mylin hot off the press. How do you feel about
uh arc Raiders not making it past the first stage
of fan voting?
Speaker 10 (01:33:29):
World did another This is a so why what does
that mean?
Speaker 11 (01:33:33):
It's not so so like the Game Awards have Player's Voice. Yes,
so the Game Awards has something called Player's Voice, which
is one hunan voted and they have stages of like
here's a bunch of games, you can vote for ten
of them, and then the ten with the highest votes
or whatever get moved to stage two. Arc Raiders was
in that first stage of fan voting and they didn't
(01:33:56):
make it to stage two.
Speaker 3 (01:33:58):
How do you feel because.
Speaker 10 (01:33:59):
They run to easy playing a game.
Speaker 4 (01:34:01):
Ah, that actually.
Speaker 6 (01:34:07):
Really interesting. I mean, Wathering Waves is still in here.
Speaker 7 (01:34:11):
I think, do you not put any gotcha in there?
Speaker 11 (01:34:13):
They give you free roles and stuff in order, like
if you vote.
Speaker 7 (01:34:17):
For us in the Game Awards, you get Prima Gems
and Wuthering Waves.
Speaker 10 (01:34:22):
Do you have do you have? Do you have a listener?
Games bait it?
Speaker 6 (01:34:26):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (01:34:27):
Oh you have it?
Speaker 8 (01:34:27):
Go for Expression thirty three, Death Stranding two, Dispatch, DK Bananza,
gens An Impact, Weathering Waves, Kingdom Come, Deliverance to Hollow Night,
Silk Song, Hades two, Ghost of Yota still on the
menu for round two of three, which ends December sixth
at six pm Pacific time.
Speaker 10 (01:34:48):
I mean, vote now, and vote on excluding the gotcha games.
You know, their single player of games, right.
Speaker 8 (01:34:55):
Yeah, I mean that just goes to show you the
how crazy this vote is.
Speaker 6 (01:34:59):
But all so, I mean, I'm sorry that I do
like that.
Speaker 8 (01:35:02):
There is a fan element, of course, and I actually
think player's voice is a great category. But what more
I was thinking about is how ten percent right of the.
Speaker 6 (01:35:10):
Game of the Year award. The thing is players vote. Yeah, yeah,
I don't think it comes from the maybe.
Speaker 11 (01:35:19):
No, no, no, this is a completely separate thing. It's a
complete type of thing. So the way that the Game
Awards works is they have industry veterans who will put
games forward and then they'll vote on like on stuff,
and then they also have a ten percent of the
players voting community voting that that can sway them the votes.
Speaker 7 (01:35:38):
So that's Game of the Year, and that's you know,
best narrative. It's it's all of that.
Speaker 8 (01:35:43):
I mean, I think it's really interesting when I guess yeah,
and in this case, it's like they can put anything
in there. But even then, like ten percent of like
Brier was joking about, like get some gems if you
just vote on this kind of attitude, and it's like, yeah,
you get ten percent of the vote.
Speaker 6 (01:35:57):
Is that?
Speaker 8 (01:35:57):
But no, no, for players choice, No, No, I know
that I'm saying for the Game Awards, game of the Year, right,
ten of that vote on those.
Speaker 7 (01:36:07):
No, but you brought up like prima gens.
Speaker 6 (01:36:10):
No, I was just joking that if there is something
in there, it's like a.
Speaker 7 (01:36:13):
Community done that for years.
Speaker 6 (01:36:14):
Yes, yeah, yeah, I'm just joking, and.
Speaker 11 (01:36:17):
Wuthering waves are all all all gotcha. Games are like, hey,
the player's voice Game Awards stuff is live if you
vote for us and we make it to stage whatever,
you'll get.
Speaker 7 (01:36:27):
Free Prima gems so you can roll on characters.
Speaker 11 (01:36:30):
Yeah, yeah, for player's voice, because that's one hundred percent
where they can be like, yeah, go crazy.
Speaker 10 (01:36:36):
Is this intended? I mean yeah, I don't think multiplayer games.
Speaker 5 (01:36:42):
I mean I didn't even know the voting was up,
so I didn't know there was somebody I should have
been voting on.
Speaker 8 (01:36:48):
You weren't watching Shrouds streams.
Speaker 6 (01:36:52):
It is interesting.
Speaker 8 (01:36:53):
Yeah, I'm surprised it's not in there actually, I mean
Dispatches in here right, which is by all accounts an
incredible game.
Speaker 7 (01:37:00):
I think you know what it is, have more.
Speaker 10 (01:37:03):
Copies, someone copies and our crits doubt so.
Speaker 11 (01:37:05):
Well, this is the thing, right, is that Zombie is
saying that calling people single player Andy's arc raads are normies.
Speaker 7 (01:37:14):
So they don't know what's going on on the internet.
Speaker 11 (01:37:16):
They're like, I don't know what's going on, So they're
probably like realistic just to be serious stuff.
Speaker 7 (01:37:21):
They probably don't.
Speaker 11 (01:37:22):
Know what is going on with the game awards and
like online.
Speaker 7 (01:37:27):
Stuff and all of that. It's more so just like
shoot a bros.
Speaker 11 (01:37:30):
Playing video games, so they're less tapped in with like
all of this stuff. I think people who play Dispatch
are more tapped in with what's going on outside of
Dispatch than people who like our Creators.
Speaker 10 (01:37:46):
Museum Award.
Speaker 5 (01:37:48):
But expecting people who like really nice cars that are
like technically a piece of art to vote.
Speaker 11 (01:37:56):
Yeah, it's and that's not to I know, it's like
cash casual carls, not to be disrespectful to them, but
I think it's just a different type of player.
Speaker 7 (01:38:06):
I think people who play Exhibition thirty.
Speaker 11 (01:38:10):
Three and Dispatch in all of these games, ye are
just interacting more with like online stuff.
Speaker 7 (01:38:16):
So it's not that people wouldn't want to vote for it.
I think they just didn't know that it was happening.
Speaker 6 (01:38:23):
Yeah, And that was the point I was trying to make.
Speaker 8 (01:38:24):
It's like, sometimes it's the communities that can really mobilize
that just sort of show up in some of these votes.
So in other words, for the Game of the Year,
like you might get I don't know which one of
those has the.
Speaker 6 (01:38:35):
Biggest community, but it's sort of irregardless.
Speaker 8 (01:38:38):
I think sometimes in the quality of all those games,
it's just like that ten percent is coming from the
most loud community as part of the Game of the Year,
and that's all I was saying. But like for this though, yeah,
like you're getting on, everything is random, so it'll be
interesting to see what makes the cutout of these.
Speaker 6 (01:38:53):
Do you guys have any bets?
Speaker 8 (01:38:55):
What if you had to pick one game that will
move forward from these? Yeah, it feels like that's the
one that this because remember what was it.
Speaker 6 (01:39:08):
I forget what won it.
Speaker 8 (01:39:09):
Last year, but the year with Wu Kong and uh
was it boulders Gate or whatever? But Wu Kong was
like this big upset for the community. But I feel
like this year you've got like ex Visionary three is
so beloved by the community and by all the critics
that you might have the double down, you know, sure,
but how nice Silk Song is in there.
Speaker 6 (01:39:31):
I think that one's.
Speaker 7 (01:39:31):
Definitely interest gonna go anywhere.
Speaker 6 (01:39:33):
You don't think it'll make it in the next round.
Speaker 7 (01:39:37):
I don't think so.
Speaker 6 (01:39:39):
Yeah, I mean it's got one more round after this.
We'll see.
Speaker 11 (01:39:41):
But it's always an exciting time the Game Awards, the
Game Awards. For me, it's definitely like people definitely take
it too seriously a special especially with the Game Awards
the Game Awards, because they are the most lack luster
like judging and stuff of any by this.
Speaker 2 (01:40:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (01:40:03):
So I like the looking back on, you know, the
year of gaming and going, oh god, remember that game
in January.
Speaker 7 (01:40:09):
That was actually really freaking cool.
Speaker 11 (01:40:12):
And I like that devs get a lot of sales
from being at something like the Game Awards, which this
year is full of indies and like really great games.
So I'm excited for them to get more traction a
lot of people. I'm seeing people play Expedition thirty three
now being like, okay, damn, this is with the Game
Awards and people are like saying it's gonna win.
Speaker 7 (01:40:32):
So it's it's really cool for them.
Speaker 11 (01:40:33):
But I also, yeah, like I like talking about it
and I like watching trailers finding our new favorite games.
Speaker 2 (01:40:42):
All right, so let's have this one up. I got
a lot of thing to do, all right.
Speaker 7 (01:40:46):
Next week the Game Awards will be here.
Speaker 3 (01:40:49):
All right.
Speaker 2 (01:40:49):
We'll have a great weekend.
Speaker 6 (01:40:51):
Bye bye everybody.
Speaker 1 (01:40:54):
By
