Gonzalez autograph jersey is a cool one right there. Number nineteen.

(01:48):
I remember Welsh true story seeing Wan Gonzalez in I
believe it was like the Triple A All Star Game.
Whether he used to actually show baseball on ESPN as
a child, and I remember watching this guy. I think
you had two home runs of that game. Was just
crushing minor league pitching. And I saw, like, this guy's
a monster. He's gonna be so cool. And he came
up and he just started just mashing home runs. He
was one of my favorite power hitters. In my I

(02:10):
would say middle school ish era of like.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Part of the era, part of the the era, you
know what we're saying.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
I mean I'm a little older, so I don't know
how muches you. You know.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
No, I love I actually love Wan Gonzalez. He was
like right in that space where like I started to
really care about baseball. So he was just he was
one of the dudes. He was one of the guys
that were, you know, guys, performance enhanced type of players.
That was really good. But I like it. It's a
clean looking jersey.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
It's a very good one. I like these throwbacks too.
I like the throwback who Nico Horner jersey. That's cute.
Give me the cecil fielder, give me the Wan Gonzalez
that that gets gets me excited. All right, we got
a ton of baseball to talk about today. We got
a ton of injuries good and bad to talk about.
We got some rookie lookie stuff to talk about. But
we gotta start with a rookie year at the top

(03:00):
because it's a segment I like to call Joe Stradamus.
I told you last week when I saw Chase Burns
a little bit of a thrower, not yet of a pitcher.
The second time around that Yankee lineup, they beat his
brains in And I made a comment that if he's
not careful against some of these other teams, they are
going to catch up to him. And well, let's just
say the Red Sox caught up to him. He did

(03:21):
not get out of the first inning. He got one
out the line, two walks, five earned, seven runs, five hits,
zero strikeouts for Chase Burns. Look, he Chase Burns has
a lot of talent. Chase Burns is going to be
a good pitcher in the major leagues. I just think
the kid is one of these guys that is throwing
it hard and straight, and I just don't think that's
going to get it done in Major League Baseball in

(03:42):
twenty twenty five. I just don't. You gotta have some
other secondary stuff that's going to fool some people. And
it was a rough start for him. Sure, some weird
stuff happened. They kind of let that inning explode. Let's
see how he bounces back from it. Mentally, that's gonna
be really interesting to see. But certainly not a star
that people I think were very excited about when they

(04:03):
looked up at the box score if they started Chase
Burns yesterday.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Yeah, I'm not. I'm not going to play no stra
Dominis on this one quite yet. I do agree with
one definite thing is like, like some of these guys,
some of these young guys Brandon Fought had it. I'm
forgetting who the other person was just looking at this yesterday,
but Jase Burns is going to have to figure out
how to get lefties at the major league level out
in a really good way. Because he threw seven versus

(04:28):
righty's it was like fifty percent fastball, fifty percent slider,
didn't actually throw change ups. He was seventy percent fastball
against lefties, and then it was like twenty percent slider,
ten percent change up. You know. So you're going to
have to have that pitch mixed change get a fourth
pitch in there. You're gonna have to learn how to
get lefties out. So there's that. But also, I don't
know if you saw this, but he was tipping pitches

(04:51):
and there was a there's a speculation on a couple
different elements of how the tipping was. Was it actually happening.
One of the things that's out there in a screenshot.
He was clearly gripping his glove in when he was
throwing the slider and it was out when he was
a fast and it was a fastball, and they showed
after the first at bat or whatever, Jared Duran was

(05:12):
coming around and they were talking all the team where
they were talking and going through. It's a little speculative,
but it seems like there we saw it on camera
that the team caught on really quick. Maybe they found
this in the in his first start that they figured
out a way for tipping. And he is kind of
a primary fastball slider guy. So I still don't disagree
that he's like a thrower. I think he's a big

(05:32):
stuff guy. He showed off that big stuff. But if
they know the fastball and slider's coming and he's not
throwing a slider to lefties, those are gonna be problems.
There are gonna be big problems. You're gonna have a
bad time.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
You can have a bad time pizza when you're supposed
to French fry. You're gonna have a bad time.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
Yeah, And he was French frying when you were supposed
to pizza, And that's why you're gonna have a bad
time for Chase Bars my friend.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
So yesterday in the way he got French fried hard yesterday, Hey,
well god yeah, And people say, well, you know you
should have had that double play. Look, man, that's gonna happen.
It's baseballs, and error's gonna happen in the field. You
gotta rebound. You got to get out of the first inning.
As a starting pitcher in the major leagues, you can't.
You can't let that, you know, implode. And you know,
I always say the same thing too, because, like you know, pictures,

(06:16):
if tip pitches and you still got to hit it,
if you still got the right kind of movement and
your right kind of pitch mix and the right kind
of location on your pitches, I could throw you four fastballs.
But if I'm throwing in four different locations, I'm gonna
be tough to square up and hit. The problem is
these guys are like here it is, hit it, and
nowadays in twenty twenty five, they can. And that's one
thing to just consider. Now, the next star is against

(06:37):
the Phillies, so Welsh making that second start. If you're
a Chase Burns manager, so.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
I am a little bit worried because I think you
know the problem could there could be a theoretical problem
that you're gonna have with lefties, and they've got Harper
and they've got Schwarber, and those are you know, the
best bets in the lineup. That makes it a little bit scary.
I think if tipping was a part of this, they're
going to fix the glove issue. They're going to do that.

(07:05):
I think I'm going to be a little bit more
trepidacious about like maybe maybe I'm not going to start
him versus Philly. If I've got an option, I want
to see how they bounce back on it. But I'm
not ready to cut. Frankly, if someone's done, I want
to pick up. I just want to remind in all
of this stuff, this is a guy that he's spun
his slider almost with a three thousand rpm. That's absurd spin.

(07:25):
His fastball spins on average around twenty six hundred. That
these are these are tough pitches. But he sat in
the zone, he got into trouble. People knew what the
hell was coming, and he got banged around. Welcome to
the big leagues, buddy. This is not the best start
coming up, But I'm not ready to cut bait.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
I'm not cutting him, but I'm not starting him either.
Another Simpsons gem, and I said what I was thinking
of of. So a nice job here to see see
that yelled. They're saying boo Earns. Not that's what they're saying.
They're not booing you. They're saying a boo Earns. That's
been a theme all year Simpsons referen is on the show.
Also that game, Garrett Crochet started off great and then

(08:04):
not so great. Four earned runs for him, six innings,
this strike out nine, So I guess I'll take that.
William a bray you inside the park homer and a
Grand Slam, big night for him, and Jared Durant homered
and walked twice, so it was good a bray you
and Duran having big nights in that game as well.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
Will You're a bray You is just I love this guy,
you do, and and I've been on him all season long.
That that inside the parker was in. It was a
perfect situation, you know, right to dead center in that
little corner. Bounces, dude, trips, he goes, then he rocks
a Grand Slam. Guy is up to sixteen homers this

(08:39):
year and we're talking about him being and he's like
a like a Platoony type of player like you and
I have had all these arguments about platoon players all
year long. He has fifteen homers while hitting two sixty
one against righty's this year. I mean, the guy's gonna
put up thirty five homers and he's going to probably
have less than one hundred at bats versus lefties that's

(08:59):
going to play will your bray you, I hold this
instill that if the Red Sox do decide to make
a move, and they do decide to surprise us, I
think Willier's the guy that is not voted off the island,
and I think it would be durant On off all
this stuff because it's been one of those two. One
of those guys would have to go. Rafaela locked at center,
you've got Anthony.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
One of those theory is the one that like he
just doesn't thrill me. I've seen enough Rafayella. Now. I
know he's been a defender if good stats, no, but
like this team needs offense. Just give me an average
center fielder is a defender and give me more offense.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Good thing they got, will youer, Good thing they got
Willier braw.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
Lee Gold on vacation, Just jumping in to say I
love my wife, but I really love Junior Caman Arrow.
I'll catch up later on YouTube. There you go, Lee,
enjoy your vacation that I'm gonna be on vacation starting
tomorrow afternoon after the show too. Take a little extended
holiday right July four.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
We're getting a lot more of these wife ones here
I got. Someone tweeted me this. They said, this is
from Dustin. He said, I just showed my wife my
first place ranking in my famtasy baseball league I've held
all year long. She looked at it and her response was, well,
you should be with as much time as you spend
on it. Then he then replied, you're becoming waiver wire material.
You know that. Someone tweeted me at that, and I

(10:13):
was like, Wow, We're getting a lot of like like,
love my wife, but love fantasy baseball more so. That's
weird irony we're having today.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
There's a big question here. Let's get to this one here.
Good after noon, fella. It's currently in the ten team
category league eighth place. Not much sign to turn things around.
Schooble is by far my best picture. The next best
would be Swellenbach by hitting his struggling thoughts and if
I should accept this trade receiving trade turner and could
tell Marte for Schooble and Gunner Henderson. No, you're giving
up too much. No, he's got a wait for Gunner
to hit and hope that he started to turn things around.

(10:40):
You had ao day yesterday. We're gonna talk about in
a second.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
But no, that was this a keeper or just in
any form. It doesn't matter like Scooball and Henderson are
the two more valuable pieces in everything. I guess you
could argue like that, maybe could tell this year is
more valuable than Gunner, But I'm not doing that trade.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
What about Goodmanto the Io? You want Sanchez or Basaillo?
What was it again with Goodman going to the il
catcher for the Rockies? You want to grab Sanchez or Bassalo.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Sanchez. I everybody keeps speculating the Beasillo stuff. I don't
how they made it sound. I just don't think he's
coming up this year at all, or it's going to
be super late. Like the last time we heard that
they were the manager was surprised. They was like, yeah,
we've heard the basaio stuff. But we want him to
dominate on all levels before we even consider it, so
I don't think he's up anytime shortly or so well.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
Zach Wheeler was up yesterday and he was good ten strikeouts,
eight innings. I forgot at the beginning of the year.
He was the guy that I invested in n LSI
Young and that looks pretty good right now because that
was at two to one for that award, and if
the Phillies can sure up that bullpen, that's going to
mean some more ws for Zach Weeb.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
I'm doing a betting pro show later today in the futures.
If you guys have watched the future show that we've done,
we did it once a month me, Seth and Joe Rico.
I think it was the second show we did, the
first in season show. I laid out Zach Wheeler eleven
to one on that show for so Young and got it.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
I think at six in preseason. I think it was
at six to one. So it's gonna make a couple
hundred bucks for me, that's all I know. Let's go.
Logan Webb was also in contention for that awards. Struck
out seven but got no decision he got what one
mistake really that kind of cost him that that w
Yesterday Mac Surezer found himself against the Yankees. Two runs,

(12:22):
five innings, struck out seven. What'd you think of the
performance from Mad Max yesterday? Huh? All right enough for
the Yankees. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
I was kind of going through the savant stuff too
to just see like what stood out. He was up
like a tiny bit. He wasn't really getting whiffs his cutter.
He's stilling the cutter that that got the whiffs. There
was nothing really else. He was kind of sitting around it.
Just one of those starts I think just worked well.
I you know, maybe he's more of a streamer than
you and I both gave him credit for. But there

(12:49):
wasn't anything that like massively jumped out to me. But
you know, K's are up a little K percentage is
up a little bit over last year, but he's still
giving up a lot of barreled contact. So I feel
a little miragie still with Susier, and I'm a little
worried that things might kind of implode. But I'll take
Chase Burns over him rest of season.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
Okay, fair enough?

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Or do you want sures or over Burns.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Uh, yeah, I want sures her over Burns. Definitely boom.
It's not close. I don't even know if Burns sticks
when Hunter Green comes back. You don't know that either,
he does, I do. You don't know that.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
Van rod was offered Jackson Marriland Verlander for Seth Lugo.
Yes or no. I gotta say yes. I gotta take
that chance. As long as I got end up pitching,
I gotta say.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
Yes Verlander either take take Maryland, go stream someone spoiler.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
He's gonna be on the trade show this week, and
I'm buying That's what I'm looking for. Also yesterday, Trevor
Rodgers five to third innings, two runs, no decision versus
the Rangers. Trevor Rodgers has pitched well for the Orioles
in the crap awful season for the Orioles. Trevor Rodgers
has been one of the recent bright spots. And this

(13:58):
was a picture that I always liked in Miami. I
always thought, like, man, I've saw some glimpses like if
this tall left, he can figure it out, can get
it together. I think he could be a good major
league pitcher. What do you make of Rogers and what
he's done recently here for the Orioles, because it's been
kind of quietly good. I don't think a lot of
people have even realized how good it's been for him

(14:18):
over the last few starts. And I'm not saying he's
gotten massive potential. I'm not saying he's going to win
you a league, but jeezus, at a certain point, I
think you have to look up in the stats, and
I'm going to bring him up for you in a second. Here.
Four games so far this year, twenty two winnings, eighteen strikeout,
six walks. His whip is at point eight point eighty six.
The ERA is at two to five. That's pretty damn good.

(14:38):
Trevor Rodgers looks pretty solid right now. And we're gonna
talk about him on the way Wire video this week.
He's only rostered in thirty eight percent of leagues on CBS.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
Yeah, and I didn't even notice this before, but his
fastball's up dramatically. He throws a fastball and a sinker.
He was throwing at ninety one point nine and ninety
one point five basketball sinker last year. It's up the
ninety three point five and ninety three point so he
is throwing both of those fastballs a lot harder. He
has lowered the usage of his slider and that has

(15:08):
gone in favor of more four seams. But it's also
you know, that slider has been a pretty good punch
out pitch. He's giving up really really low good contact,
so it's like a four point nine percent barrel rate.
Hard hit rate is up, though, so he's able to
avoid good contact right now. Maybe with this pitch mix
it keeps holding. I'm not sure how long it keeps

(15:29):
holding because this is still only like twenty two innings.
I've never been a big Trevor Rodgers guy, but it's
kind of hard to deny you probably should pick him up.
This is this reminds me of like the Eric Lower thing.
It's like, well, if this is gonna work, you know,
maybe he's more more than a.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
Strong left he too somebody's lefties. Yeah, for some reason,
like he's twenty seven now, Sometimes they just take a
little longer the pressure cooker. Historically speaking, the lefties just
mechanically sometimes from what I've seen in you know, over
the years, and do this for a long time now.
But Rogers, I think is one of these dudes like,
if the Orioles can figure him out, Okay, maybe next
year he's a piece in that rotation, and maybe you

(16:02):
get Grayson Arriguez healthy, maybe you go sign somebody you
get back in this thing. I don't think the Orioles
are done. They have too much young talent to be like,
oh well it's over the windows closed. It's not. But
you gotta find some gems and hopefully finally they found one.
Gunnar Henderson also drove in four runs and homered yesterday,
so maybe a good sign for him. And of course
Texas Rangers were hitting three run homer for Garcia. Marcus

(16:23):
Simeon's hitting, so the Rangers starting to hit. You had
Corey Seeger over the weekend hitting a bunch of home runs.
You know the Rangers are gonna get back in this
some transactions. Tucker Barnhardt retired after twelve seasons, so he
does get his pension. Talked about that the other day.
That was very interesting. It's Scott Kinger, he got sent
down by the Angels. Let's go to little rookie. Lookie here,
Chandler Simpson, twenty four years old. He wasn't playing last night,

(16:46):
but I just want to point out he's seven for
twenty two with two steals in six games since being recalled.
I don't know why he doesn't play every single day. Well,
can you explain this to me?

Speaker 2 (16:55):
Well, this is a whole like you know, defensive War
of four all that type of stuff, and like what
he his value as far as defensively and everything. Like
I think he should be playing every day. But they
got a lot of guys. They got a lot of
guys they like to burn and churn. But he is
such a force from He's one of the weirdest guys
in baseball because like he's so much more valuable in

(17:15):
fantasy to like the real life team, you know what
I mean. Like he was playing well and then they're
just like.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
Yeah, somebody he's He's I think he's valuable in fantasy's
value to the real life team. I think that they're
both strong. He gives them that spark, he gives them
an energy in some life when you when I want
to play, he's like he's infectious.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
Lard wants to know Trevor Rodgers Casparius Rogers for me
because he's got a rotation spot. Casparius is you know,
just a long guy right now, especially now on the
return wing too.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
I think it's like it's Rogers right now, but it's
still could be casparious, but taller Glass now is going
to come back andymoo Otani, who am missing em? Well,
they put him into the miners, so Dustin May. They're
still throwing Dustin May out there.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
Dustin May. That was the other one I again, So yeah,
Casparius now Rogers one hundred percent. Yes, Andrew Painter is
not gonna pitch in the futures game. So four two
four ERA for him forty five strikeouts in forty innings.
He doesn't have eighteen walks in those nine starts. So
Painter is on the futures team, not gonna pitch. I
guess they're saving the bullets, right, So it's kind of
a bummer. I kind of want to see him. But

(18:20):
at the same time, Welsh, this is another you know,
Phillies protecting assets kind of situation here when it comes
to Painter.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
Yeah, I'm I'm actually surprised like he's even just going
because I have it under some authority that our dear
friend Bubba Chandler was asked to go and could have
been going and just decided not to for whatever reason.
It could have been the team or could I don't
know any of that detail, but you know, he didn't
end up wanting to go because I think I would
imagine the team also, he probably needs to arrest. I'm

(18:49):
just surprised that Andrew Painter was even like invited, because
there's no chance he was ever gonna do this. The
Phillies have him under like lock, it's you're gonna do this,
You're gonna do this, and you're coming up mid season.
I think he's not going to pitch in there because
he's going to pitch pretty close to post All Star
Game in futures games. So that's why I'm revving up
the shares. You know, the underlying stats in the miners

(19:10):
haven't been really great, but I love, love, love Andrew Painter. Now,
the pitch makes He's got big, devastating fastball, change up,
everything like that. So I'm not surprised he's not going
to pitch there. I just am surprised that, like if
they knew he wasn't going to pitch, that he's even
going at all.

Speaker 1 (19:25):
Well, you go, you take your cap off, Yeah, you schmove. Yeah,
I guess Philly's showing off their you know, prizes and
stuff like that. Maybe mister Burns is actually the manager
of the race because he keeps forgetting that Simpson's on
the team. Simpson a m does the trick of Bell.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
He did it again, shave.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
Those sideburns maddingly. Colby Thomas was called up. His slashes
two ninety seven, three sixty five, five forty two with
seventeen bombs and seven steals and seventy six games. Now
he does play in the PCL, but he actually hit
better on the road. His slugging was five to seventy
six in the away games. So co Thomas Welsh a
prospect that you've touched on a little bit here, and

(20:03):
he thoughts on his arrival here to the A's and
what that might mean potentially for guys like Lawrence Butler
who have been struggle bust lately. I know yesterday was
a pretty good game, but is that out feel getting
crowded right now?

Speaker 2 (20:14):
Yeah, it definitely is. I think they're they're going to
start him out kind of platooning as well. So there's
just really not there's not going to be any fantasy
value until he starts getting out into games every single day,
but I'd speculated on him. I think he made it
once or twice into the prospecting segments we've done early
on in the season, and they kept kind of going
in other directions. But yeah, it's a pretty crowded outfield

(20:34):
that they're already talking about him not playing every single
day or in some platoony type of stuff, So I
think it's pretty minimum. I'm not looking. I'm not running
to the wire to pick up Kolby Thomas right now,
but the ballpark is pretty nice.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
Still.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
Throw he made last night was pretty good. Michael was
pointing that out too, was big, throwing a big spot
to get now at home. Rocky is also calling up
a prospect, young Kiel Fernandez, twenty two year old prospect.
His slash in the minor leagues two eighty four, three eighties,
seven five, two thirteen homers in sixty four games, So
any love for Fernandez on the waiver wire this week.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
A big power and it's kind of like a post
hype sleepery type of guy, which is interesting because there
was a time where he was just flying boards. Just
based on age, I want to say he was like
a twenty year old you know with the twenty plus homers.
If I'm even remembering her, yeah, I think it was
in twenty twenty three. He had twenty five homers as
a twenty year old. He just rocketing up and then

(21:29):
things just kind of came back down. Strikeouts have been
like a problem, but they've really tapered down this year.
As a matter of fact, only thirty eight strikeouts and
about two hundred and fifty at bats, which is really
really impressive. Still showing off his power twenty seven extra
base hits. There might be something there in Colorado, especially
that the strikeouts are going down. He's definitely a big

(21:50):
power guy. Again, I don't know if I'm running to
the wire, but I'm going to probably play pay really
close attention or in deeper leagues, maybe I even do
make that move for The.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
Blue Jays also kind of showed their hand and said,
Trey you Savage, which I got. I can, I just
can I love the last name more than this, Yes Savage,
look at yes Savage. He is pretty just some late
season promotion. Twenty one years old, two four five ERA,
one hundred and four strikeouts, twenty seven walks in sixty
two winnings and fourteen starts and that's across three minor

(22:22):
league levels. So I mean, it depends on how aggressive
they want to be, but this seems like a guy
that's got the rocket ship attached to him right now.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
He was drafted last year, has a really nasty splitter.
The only thing, it's just one of those things like
I just want to do more studying on. But there's
kind of this constant conversation around guys that are direct
overhand pitchers. That's what Jonah Toong with the Mets has,
and that's what he Savage has in just like long

(22:49):
term success and whatnot. But I feel just like from
that arm angle to that splitter has to be just
absolutely disgusting. So I kind of like the idea that,
you know, if they're in it, that he might geld
allay season promotion. I don't know if I'm like, I'm
not speculating right now because they're just purely speculating that
he could be up. It could be in some type

(23:09):
of relief role, but this is definitely a Savage is
going to be someone to pay attention to next year.
Has had a phenomenal minor league season and I'm I'm
a big fan of his He's moved up my ranks.
He's a firm top one hundred prospect in my prospect ranks.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
Y Savage Tongue and Schlitler rank them.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
I I think I currently have it you Savage Tongue
and Schlittler. I gotta be very careful. Schlitler slipped up.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
Tell got to make that T shirt. By the way,
my T shirt today the best the Bob Youuger, just
a bit outside T shirt showing it off because I'm
so proud of it.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Show it to worldfe for the show.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
Uh, Lucero says, A question here is Jordan Hicksworth, the
specultive pick up as Chapman potentially being trade before the deadline.
I don't know if the Red Sox are are thinking
that way. I just I don't know. They're three games
out of the Wildcard. Why would you be doing that?
Anything goes the Central stinks, you know, the West just
beating each other up. I don't know. I think it.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
They just traded Rockael Devers. We're like, why would they
trade a guy when they're like, oh, but I mean.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
The diverirst thing was different, like the devorst thing to
be that was just like that was just we don't
want you here anymore, and they are getting Bregman back too.
After the break. We'll talk about that more, you know later,
But just I don't know, I just don't. I agree,
I don't tank for that to happen.

Speaker 2 (24:29):
I think I think they would have to like really
tank tank over the next couple And also I think
Whitlock might be the guy that they would go to. Like, yeah,
Kicks necessarily either Kicks has been stretched out before, like
they could There's a multitude of things they can do.
Could he get saves, Yes, it's a definite possibility, but
I would speculate more on Whitlock for saves. If they
were to do that, then I would Hicks.

Speaker 1 (24:50):
Fun fact, time cal Rawly hit his solo home run yesterday,
he is tied for the third most home runs thirty
three all time before July first Bonds had thirty nine,
Mark McGuire at thirty seven, Sosa, Griffy cal Rawley thirty three. Welsh.
That's that's kind of some rarefied air, isn't it.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
It's crazy, And that's you know, it's a testament to
like we can play the game where we're like, oh,
things are gonna come back down. Dah da da. Sometimes
it just doesn't like he's taken a next level. This
is a guy that was hitting. It's like, oh, he's
really good, it's like two thirty, and then it's just
it's clicked to a completely another level. It has not stopped.
Trading him early really would not have paid off. And

(25:32):
he is the biggest discrepancy of a singular player to
the next player at their position in Fantasy that I
can remember. I mean, if someone else can think of
a discrepancy of this guy to the next tier at
first or second, or starting pitcher in the last whatever,
I don't know. Maybe it was like an air ganye

(25:54):
whin the MVP. As far as like a closer to
the next closer, I just don't think there has been
a bigger gap pozzositionally between number one and number two
in our time of play. It probably is, I'm just
not thinking of it, but like legitimately, think was there
a closer that was so much better than the next
guy at the level of Rolliney too.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
I'm trying to think like second base or something like that,
or even catcher, you know, like sal Perez the year
he at forty eight. What was that year? Was that
twenty eighteen or like, yeah, well, how was the next year?
What year did he hit the forty plus bombs? Can't remember?

Speaker 2 (26:31):
Nointy one.

Speaker 1 (26:32):
The next guy was Mike Zanino at thirty three, but
Mike Zanino was also sate in two sixteen, and then
the next guy to that was twenty five.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
It will okay, yeah, that's a big one, twenty.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
Twenty one, so it's been about five years.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
So yeah, I mean that could tell. Marte is kind
of an interesting one, except like Mookie Betts qualifies at
second in some spots. If you're talking this year, you
know there is a pretty big gap. But I just
I still like we haven't reached it. We haven't found
I would love to find is it Has there ever
even been a gap of that bit?

Speaker 1 (27:00):
I think it's been a catcher more than most positions, just.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
To yeah, because it's like tight end we've talked about.

Speaker 1 (27:05):
Yeah, so's the wear and tear of that.

Speaker 2 (27:06):
Man.

Speaker 1 (27:07):
I'm looking through some of these stats too, from different years.
I'm looking at twenty nineteen, glabor tore is thirty eight bombs.
Remember that that was fun.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
I remember when Gary Sanchez was a top two round
pick people were like Yankees, and he was going around
like twenty five. He was like second or third round,
and it was just crazy on the catching front. But
the gap is just so big and just you know,
hat tip to I really have thought that, like Riley
was going to kind of backtrack, and it's like if
you could get a haul, if you get a first

(27:34):
second round player for him, I was doing it. But
now he is the first or second round player, He's
so much better than it. It's just it's it's really
really is crazy. The dude's going to hit fifty homers
this year.

Speaker 1 (27:44):
Here's here's a one, one, two, and I'm in twenty fifteen.
Just random tized Brian Dozer leading all second basement with
twenty eight home runs. There's the twins, right, yeah, probably
in Dozer. You haven't thought of that name in a while.
I bet. Yeah, let's go. Lawrence Butler two for five. Yes,
he hadn't had an RBI since June twentieth, or an
extra base hit since the nineteenth. So, Kobey Thomas, if

(28:06):
you hit, you might get a chance here. And Andrew
Heeney seven strikeouts. The nobody can beat the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Apparently they're the best even baseball. First time all year.
They've won four straight games, so congratulations to the Pirates.
Three up and three downs. Suarez Johanio home run for him,
George Kirby five strikeouts, picking up a win against the Royals,
Rand euros Arena Hobert not once but twice and drove

(28:29):
in four Yesterday in that same game the Downs, Michael
Waka charged for five runs and five innings. Jacob Lopez
Cinderella oooh no good, no fun there four runs, three
earned at three and to third. He wasn't good, and
Eric Vetti was definitely not good. Seven runs given up
for him in that contest. Now, Welsh a ton of
injuries first, as Tyler Molly's been diagnosed with a rotator

(28:51):
cuff strain and we'll be sidelined until after the trade deadline.
Will we see Tyler Molly again in twenty twenty five?
I say no, What says you.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
I'll say yes, But I don't think it matters for
fantasy to like hold on. I'm I was a cell
on Molly, so I would probably move on if my
ils are all full up or anything like that. I
don't have an issue going away from Molly.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
Yeah, don't worry. Game over, says a Skiing's pitches today,
So the pirates will forget how to hitch. Basically, Yeah,
that's that's accurate. That's accurate.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
I want I want Schemes to win no more games.
I want him to be like it two three era
two D and fifty strikeouts, four wins, five wins.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
It's like Rodnie Dangerfield and back to school. Uh. Jeremy
Pania ten day ill retroactive with a fractured rib. Bryce
Harper was activated. That's good news, bad news for the Giants.
Casey Schmidt goes to the IL. Tyler Fitzgerald gets called
back up. Boba shit day to day with need discomfort.
Hunter Green scheduled to face Hitters on Wednesday, and we
got a bunch of Orioles notes, So set to tight

(29:56):
here we go. Kate Polder pulled from his minor league
rehab due to hips and that's not good. Charlie Morton
low grade elbow. Ten nightis just when things were starting
to get better for him. His start is going to
get pushed back Friday and Zach Efflin goes to the
IL and Brandon Young gets called up Zach Eflin lower
back discomfort, so they're trying to trade him, and that
looks like it's going to get more and more difficult

(30:17):
to do. So the Orioles are just an absolute mess
right now. Nothing bad, nothing else, that's all okay, all right.
Matt Chapman took batting practice Monday. Trent Chrisham was removed
from hamshring tightness. Wyatt Langford could be activated Saturday. Yay,
Louis heel like, are you are you excited about why
at Langford anymore? As the bloom come off Rose?

Speaker 2 (30:38):
No, No, but I think he's just missed. I think
it's just like two different stints of him being hurt,
but you.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
Know, he's I'm more annoyed than excited about him at
this point.

Speaker 2 (30:47):
I feel like, well, their season has been annoying, but
you know, he thirteen homers, eleven stolen bases in like
two hundred and fifty at bats, pacing out twenty five
to twenty five. Plus he just the batting average is
not locked in this year. So I'm still excited. But
I maybe what you were referring to is like chopped
a little bit off the top where we're just like,
you know, Google eyes were like, oh my gosh, Ry

(31:08):
Langford can do no harm. I think that's that's kind
of happening with like Jackson, Merril, Jeredder and all those
guys in that same little grouping where we're like we
got to have all of them, like James would move
past all of them into a new tier, and all
those guys have kind of had those little sophomore slumps.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
Are you higher on Heel or Bieber when they return?

Speaker 2 (31:26):
Heel? Because Heel looks like he's set to have a
rehab start, I think next to you, and Bieber is.

Speaker 1 (31:32):
Still on Tuesday today and live batting practice session, so
not rehabby.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
Yeah, I'll say heel because Bieber already got re hurt
and he's gonna throw I think, and maybe restart a
rehab thing. I don't feel great about that. Yeah, I
feel better about heel.

Speaker 1 (31:47):
Issues with Austin Wells, who's got a circulation issue and
his fingers in his left hand. That's not good and
he has not been good recently too. Last month has
been very bad for Austin Wells. Unfortunately, Jake Berger with
an oblique is going to begin on my minary rehabit.
I'm today, and Anthony Santander, who suffered a left shoulder
subblixation in May, is being re evaluated this week, so

(32:07):
we'll see what that goes. Alex Bregman also will be
reevaluated this week. Gorbyn Carrol is taking dry swings on Tuesday.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
That sounds talk to me when he's got wet swings.
That's what I mean, the wet swings.

Speaker 1 (32:18):
Dry swings. Gross. Do you like the dry wings? You
like it? I do like the dry wings on occasion,
like just the rub you like the rub like?

Speaker 2 (32:26):
No? I mean it's we have a dry heat. It's
a big dry heat here. Everyone's like, well, it's not
as bad because there's not human I just like.

Speaker 1 (32:31):
Wings, sauce, the wings, the dry rub rings, especially if
they're good.

Speaker 2 (32:36):
Like the band.

Speaker 1 (32:37):
No, I don't like the band. I'm not a big McCartney.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
Because he don't like all wings.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
No, I don't drop your comments below. Do we like
the dry row or better? Yeah, let's put a pole
dry rubb ring wings right, I can't even say it
dry dry rub wings? Do you like him? Do you not? Yes?
Or no? Put the pole up. Let's see we let's
see other people say. All right, It's time everybody for
the best bets of the day with Joey p and

(33:01):
the Welsh. I'm going to attack the Mets. Why because
Clay Holmes at eighty eight innings and last two years
he threw sixty three, so I think he's getting tired.
I think Freddy Pearlt is gonna stick the Mets with
a number L. So give me the money line Milwaukee
Brewers today plus money plus one oh six. Diddy Er
Fuentes is back again in atl that's good news for
the Angels. Plus one thirty six on their money line too, Yes,

(33:23):
please let's go. And then the Texas Rangers run line
again minus one and a half plus one twelve. Jacob
de Gram against the Baltimore Orioles, who stink. Last time
we saw him against the Orioles they barely eked out
one hit, so I know it's a second store UK
who I don't care. Give me Jacob Agram on the
run line minus one and a half plus money. Welsh,
what do you have for the people?

Speaker 2 (33:42):
We're going against Zach Gallon as one does. We are
going over two and a half runs, so he's gonna
give up three runs or more, which, by the way
he has done in four straight starts. He's been cooked.
I'm out know Zach Gallon over two and a half
runs today at minus one five at home. Give me

(34:03):
the New York Yankees on the first five run line,
so for them to be up by a singular run
at least through the first five. That's I think it's
actually minus money, not plus. I think it's minus one
twenty five. But the Tampa Bay run line is plus
money plus one twenty five, that is to be up
by two runs or more. So got a little full

(34:24):
game run line, little five inning run line, and Zach
Gallon to give up a bunch of runs.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
Boom, there you go. There you have it. Everybody. Make

be smart, make good bets. All right, it's not for
the home run board. Let's see what we got here,
Wonkye Penguin at twenty nine. And now that we got
a Sosa jersey at the end, and we've got a
Wan Gonzalaz jersey at the beginning. God makes me so happy.
Bring back all the steroids, bring them all back.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
I want him all back.

Speaker 1 (35:15):
Screw your records.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
Entertain me.

Speaker 1 (35:18):
I am the Roman Emperor. I want entertainment. I am
not on this list. Welsh is not on this list.
Twenty five is the number. We're still not there. Schwarber
unfortunately did not help us yesterday. But perhaps today Junior
Caminaro can help me. At plus three twenty that's where
I'm looking for. Junior Cameronaro hit one yesterday. He is
locked in. Man, that's my dude, very excited about him.

(35:40):
Where are you going for your home run call?

Speaker 2 (35:42):
Well, the giants are going up against Zach Allen, so
let's take a giant. Let's say Raphael Devers here, you
Zach Allen. Let's get a bomb. Let's get a big
bomb by Raphael Devers. Maybe two in one. I'll get
a homer Endeavors will get the maybe a three run
shot off of gallon and it gets me rocking.

Speaker 1 (35:59):
Go sport. I think hit the nail on the head
here in the comments. Dry rub wings can be great
but also have a high margin for error. That is true.
That is true. A mediocre wing with a really good
sauce can be very good. Still, I'm a flats person
more than the drums. I don't know if you have
a preference of wings.

Speaker 2 (36:16):
What are flats?

Speaker 1 (36:17):
You know? The ones that are flat? Is the drumsticks?
Are the ones that have like, you know, like a drumstick,
like it's like long with the little chubby piece at
the end of it.

Speaker 2 (36:24):
Yeah, nuggets, give me nuggets, nuggets, nug guy.

Speaker 1 (36:29):
Nugget or nugg. I mean, I like the chicken nuggies.
I'm not gonna lie. What's what's the results of the pole?
That's what I want to know. I want to know
the results of all boneless wings are just nuggets? Change
my mind? Uh No, And I don't do the Dino
nuggets too.

Speaker 2 (36:42):
Now that's gross there, I'll do Dino nugget now.

Speaker 1 (36:45):
They're disgusting and weird and the whole thing.

Speaker 2 (36:48):
Is just why is it shaped like a dinosaur?

Speaker 1 (36:50):
No, I don't know. We need to end this pole.
That's the thing. I don't want to end the show
without having this. I need the answer to this. Seventy
three percent on yes, So the dry rub that's my
people showing up here. I love the peanuts and the
cracker Jacks. We'll be back tomorrow. Subscribe to the YouTube channel.
Help us get to thirty thousand. That'll do it for us,
but the story of the game goes on for the Welsh.
I'm Joey P. We'll see you next time. Kids.
