(00:49):
this fantastic jersey. Welsh. It appears the Orioles hate all
their catching prospects. I just saw across the waiver wire
here that David benweilos the contract was selected from Triple
A Norfolks. So Basayo clearly he must be the worst
defensive catcher ever. He must throw the ball back to
the pitcher like Mackie Sasser. I have no explanation why
(01:12):
the Orioles hate Basayo so much, but anybody but him
can catch the major leagues, dude.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
They legitimately did not lie when they were talking when
they you know, and Natalie got hurt and they kind
of went to the manager and the organization and they're
just like, well, Basayo's gonna have to prove it on
every factor from top to bottom. He's going to have
to force our hand. Yeah, because like your hand is
available at every other week, there's a catcher going down.
(01:40):
They are. They're making up players there. It's year fifteen
in Road to the Show, with fake catchers they're bringing
up before they'll bring up Samuel Visio. It's wild. Yeah,
I think there's a lot. I think it's consistency. I
think they're worried he might get eaten up a little
bit on the hitting side. His catching ability, he is
clearly far behind. I told you, I don't know what
it's going to take for them, but clearly it is
(02:02):
going to be literally everything.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
I feel like there could be a bus crash where
the entire team is unavailable and they're like, yes, we'll
call up everybody from the minor leagues except that guy.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Like they forfeit a game before they bring other.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
I know, but that guy. What a crazy night of baseball.
Lots of home runs it, but also some returns and
a debut. Let's start with the return here from Tyler Glass. Now.
He held the Brewers to just one unearned run, two hits,
five innings, struck out five, walk three. As average fastbal
is ninety six point eight. That's pretty damn good. I'm
(02:39):
very encouraged by this start. I saw a little bit
of the tail end of it against a pretty good
Brewers lineup, so I think this is a big sigh
of relief. Hopefully you can build on this. He's got
a nice little layoff here coming up to so you
have Tyler Glass now, you know, could even be the
first starter out of the gate, potentially next Friday for
the Dodgers if things line up properly. That's my guess
(02:59):
is what they'll do, because you don't want him to
sit too long because then those guys get off routine
and get a little stale. So good outing for Glass. Now,
what were your thoughts on his return yesterday to the
major leagues after missing all that time with injury.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
You know, he was one of the guys that I
was kind of advocating to trade for prior to the injury.
And it works both ways, where Like I think there
are some people that are like, ooh, just he's so
injury prone, and then there's another class that's like, well,
you know, he's a kind of higher class pitcher. When
he's coming close to injury, his cost is going to
come back up. But like I think he kind of
(03:31):
showed off, like why you can take that inherent risk.
They didn't hold back pitches. I thought, like, eighty five
is pretty good in that first start back. Not a
lot of hard hit only four hard hit balls. His
villa was up, which is just phenomenal. I mean, his
villa was up like a mile and a half per
hour year over year, sinker slider. Everything was up. He
(03:51):
was throwing them for strikes, and he was mixing the
pitches really well. I just thought, like, this is the
inner workings. Give him a couple more starts to get ready.
This is the inner workings of kind of the elite
ish Glass Now that you've seen before. If he's healthy,
I think Glass now can get back to being like
an easy top twenty, top fifteen type of sp and
(04:13):
I think the cost, maybe even to this moment, could
still be like a little bit lower than you expect.
But I'm pretty encouraged by the pitches, by his actual pitches,
how far he went into the game, how the fastball
was looking, how he's throwing strikes. So I'm kind of
all back in for Tyler glassnow.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
Yeah, as am I question here from the Peanuts and
the cracker Jack. Let's get this one from Boozewell Stream
Soroka or Schurzer for the next start and rest of
season or Jacob Lopez, Well, the Athletics are not going
in a great direction. I think sure's the rest of
season for me. The Blue Jays have a lot to
play for their pretty good team. That's where I go.
(04:51):
How about you?
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Okay, I guess from the rest of it because like
Soroka's like would be my answer. But the rest of
season thing makes it tough because the Nationals are pretty
garbage and the Blue Jays are playing for something. I
guess I'm gonna lean on Soroka on this one though.
That's where I'm gonna.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
Go split decision. I got to watch Cam Schlitzler's debut.
Schlitzler was full at Yankee Stadium five and a third
innings against the Mariners. Now, he gave up a short
home run to JP Crawford and then he give up
a huge home run to Horey Polanko, So you know,
one was you know, he knew immediately, you know, when
he let the ball go. You could tell his like
his reaction was like that wrong pitch, wrong location, whatever
(05:27):
it was. But he did strike out seven. He was
very impressive. Velocity was there ninety seven point nine where
he was sitting. He had one hundred a couple of
times on the gun, so he has got It's kind
of a tall, lanky guy, just physically. It's the first
time I've ever really watched him just, you know, pitch
an entire game. I've seen highlights and things like that,
but to watch him pitch an entire game. He reminded
(05:49):
me a little bit of you remember the tall lanky
Jared Weaver of old That's kind of what he reminds me.
A little bit. I think people forget Jared Weaver. Once
upon a time it was pretty good pitcher back at
his day Angels and Detroit Tigers. But yeah, that kind
of a feel for him, just all arms and legs
kind of guy, throws pretty hard, tax the strike soon.
I liked what I saw from Schlitler. Actually, I thought
it was very good that, you know, I struck out
(06:10):
cal Rawley. It's a tough lineup with Roley and Julio
in it and Rosa rainaw so you know, it wasn't
those guys that killed him, ironically, it was you know,
the Polancos of the world and JP Crawford. But overall
very impressed and also overall just miserable having to listen
to the Yankee broadcast. I'm spoiled because I get to
listen to Gary Kohane and Ron Darling and Keith Hernandez
(06:32):
and I rarely just will watch a Yankee game and
to listen to Michael Kay and whatever Yankee stan they
have that night with him is just unbearable.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Oh it's so awful. You on Bogman, you guys like
you blow me away. You guys talk about this all
of him, You complain about announcers, and that must be
the most like gen Zish thing that I do. I
just don't listen like I do other stuff, like I've
got a I'm mute.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
Or because sometimes I listen because I'm conditioned to listen
because my broadcast is probably the best in baseball, and
that's widely thought that. So I'm spoiled. So I'm listening
because I'm used to getting good information and analysis and
learning things, and instead I just wanted to beat somebody up. Yeah,
and that person was Michael Kay and his giant head.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Well, I'm very impressed with Schlitler, and I mean for
all intentsive purposes, like he should just continue to rock
into the rotation, especially with their injuries. Power slider looks
really good. He hit ninety four on it. I talked yesterday.
I think about miss Rowski's ridiculous, like ninety seven mile
an hour slider that he threw. It's about ninety one
(07:41):
on average. The fastball looked great. A couple other pitches,
I mean like he's manipulating. He's got the sweeper and
the slider. He got a curveball in there. What I
really liked was he threw a lot of strikes fastball
and slider strikes. He had a thirty eight percent CSW percentage,
which is called strikes and whiffs on his fastball, and
he was just pumping that thing fifty percent of the time.
(08:02):
So I think over a little bit of time, he's
gonna have to mix more because he was primary just
slider fastball, So we'll kind of see where that goes.
But he was throwing strikes, he was getting whiffs, and
he said, big body guy extension, Like I think there's
a lot to like there that Schlitz. Someone asked, like
Chase Burns or Schlitler. It's still Chase Burns, but Schlittler
(08:23):
a couple more starts, kind of adjusting to the league.
See how his pitch mix adjusts in the next start,
and see how the league adjusted to him. Slitler's in
the conversation, I'm still gonna take the talent of a
guy like Chase Burns, but it's it's a much closer
gap like Schlittler's a guy if I had streamed, don't
think I'm gonna come off of the stream just yet
because there might be a strong second half still in
(08:45):
tow for him.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
Yeah, I liked what I saw from Schlittler es day,
Ronald Akunya. I liked what I saw from him. He
homer twice. Also, Drake Baldwin had a three run home run,
Barcelo Zuna, Mitch Spence just basically, I can we get
Mitch Spence to pitch the home run derby? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (09:03):
Let him do that.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
He pulled out of it, right, like did pull out
of it?
Speaker 2 (09:06):
I don't know, did he? I don't think what his
back looks fine?
Speaker 1 (09:09):
He just hit.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
I took him yesterday.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
The two days the derby is a lot of torque,
it's a lot of swings, It's a lot on town.
I don't care.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
You guys can tell me otherwise in the chat if
you've seen it.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
I have not.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
I've still seen the list of six that's out there,
so I think.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
He's stillman Aro just joined yesterday.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
Yeah, Camonaro was like the six that by the way
starting third basement two. But yeah, I mean so much
for the back issues, so much for the like what
has been pulled and we got to worry da funny?
Speaker 1 (09:35):
Can you do that? I major? Could you? Could you?
You can't have anybody right? Could you imagine a guy
hit or going to a picture and be like, hey,
so you know how I kill you every time I
face you. How about you throw me some home run derby?
Speaker 2 (09:47):
You mean I'm sure that would go well. The guy
will be like, yeah, yeah, I'll just throw.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
Are you allowed to use a picture like anybody? I
don't think you can. Like with the players, you need
to allow that, like they're always bullpen pictures or you know,
you know someone's dad or whatever.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
I don't think anyone's ever done it. It's a great question.
No one's ever could.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
You imagine Like some guy who's retired, he's like, hey,
remember to think, Hey it's me Ronald. Yeah, membody's to
kick your ass. How about you come out and I'll
throw you a couple grand you come picture me at
the home run derby, because I mean, those guys are
gonna throw ninety miles an hour. It's gonna make it easier.
And some of these like guys just chucking it in.
I'm just saying it kind of interesting, Like.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
I mean, it would be fun, it'd be super cool,
like every guy was forced to have like a major
league picture. But then it's not gonna be a derby.
You're gonna get a guy that's gonna start cutting a
fastball and then there's gonna be arguing to go.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
I don't know, man, not if you get a piece
of the money. No way, Mitch Spencer. I mean, he's
the guy.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Throwing the home run derby just beans Ronald Acuna that
would go over really well right in the back.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
That he wants to get it paid. Man Corbyn. Carrol
had a home run, so it Suarez as Brandon Fought
worked eight innings. Boy, the Diamondbacks just can't stop winning,
and Welsh just can't just be held down. It's just
so miserable.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
This is what Brandon Fought does. Dude, kind of pot
drives me absolutely ballistic. I saw it from a million
miles away to the low strikeout thing. I don't know
why that's his new thing where when he's super efficient,
he just stops striking out guys, just pumping sinkers and stuff.
He had seven total whiffs in this game. This is
a Padres team that you just you just don't have
(11:18):
this expectation. But hey, man Fought was he was pretty efficient.
He was getting pretty much no whiffs. He was pitching
to contact a bunch of in zone stuff and he
you know, he shows these signs of incredible life and
then he'll have a start where it's like here's three homers.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
You know.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
Here you go like he's just wildly inconsistent, and the
Diamondbacks are just super inconsistent, like you're alluding to. It's
just it's annoying. Pick a path, man, don't be good
for a week and then bad for a week, and
just keep it in it, like, let these teams rebuild.
This is the this is the annoyance going into the
trade deadline, man, there, and this is why I think
we're you know, June tenth or July tenth. Sometimes you
(11:56):
see these moves, we're not seeing it because you still
have these teams that are just like right on the outside,
Diamondbacks on the outside, stupid braves, just right on the outside.
Not enough. We're so close to getting a couple of
teams to say screw it, so we can see some
big moves at the deadline, but it's probably gonna take
to post All Star game, everybody all together, teams together talking,
and maybe right after we'll see some moves happen. But
(12:17):
this is the annoying stuff.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
Yeah, now you know it's like for to be a
Steelers fan, right just kind of You're never gonna get
a good draft pick. You're just gonna be in the
middle all the time.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
This is what Bogma goes through now every single year.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
Despite the fact his expected era is better and all
these things, Dylan Sea's just can't just get it done.
Six runs, six innings. I'd still buy. I know I
sound like a crazy person, but I'd still buy. And
this is your window because people have lost their mind.
I've seen it on the internet. They lost their mind.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
Kensey Gore, I might go out. I'm not sure I'm
I can do this anymore with Dylan Ce's. Like I've
been a big, big defender.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
I'm still defending.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
I just don't know if I can do it. I mean,
he's primary slid Island. Couldn't throw it for strikes. That's
why you're getting to walks. Then you're just pumping your
fastball in. He's a two pitch guy right now. I
don't feel I don't I don't feel good about Dylan Cees,
but his value really stinks, so do you you? The
only argument here is with where he's at right now
(13:16):
and trading him, is it worth the return? That someone's
going to give you that he could bounce back, because
there's still like numbers that are telling us rest.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
Of season, who buo bitch or cease rest of season.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
I mean, I'm probably gonna pick Sea still, I am too.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
I'm so just putting that out there. Mackenzie Gore struck
out seven. He's been terrific. What a great season for him,
A great win against the Cardinals, Lucas Giolito. He continues
that turnaround. Somebody asked me to should we trade him?
I said no. This morning someone's asking me on the
Twitter machine. Struck out six six coirrels. I think no,
you hold I know it was against the Rockies, which,
by the way, did you see that play yesterday where
the ball goes off the pitcher and that goes up
(13:57):
the middle of the field and the shortstop kicks it
into right field and the ryefielder goes to pick it
up and then misses it, and everybody in the Red
Sox dugout is just dying laughing. It was. It was
absolutely it was out of the three stooges. It was crazy.
Adrian Hauser, who was actually on our Waiwire video a
week ago now They're good start for him. One run,
(14:18):
seven innings is fifth victory. I think somebody might come
knocking for Adrian Hauser, I really do.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
I think I agree with that that there are teams
that need depth. The White Sox are a team that
can just easily start moving right now, that can move
these pieces Adrian Hauser. See you for a team that
is looking for anything. This is why there This is
why this team would be picking up like the Adrian
Hausers of the world, or even I mean, I don't
know how they're gonna do it, but like you know,
(14:45):
no Cynderguard, who I believe is going to pitch tonight
his last game in the Complex League, but he is
an opt out, like you can't keep pitching him in
rookie ball. But the reason you pick up a lot
of these guys is like if you can go and
trade and get anything, if it's ann story pick, or
you can get just some prospect down the road, like
how Howser. His proven to be exactly that type of guy.
I still don't like, I'm not in love with it.
(15:08):
It's a seventeen percent K percentage. He has a single
digit K minus walk percentage, which stinks, and an over
three and a half hour for.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
A while, like the Texas Rangers should look at Adrian Houser.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
That's the kind of team the Mets if you're looking for.
Speaker 1 (15:23):
That's funny because well, I remember he was with the
Mets last year. Yeah, he was put one of the
guys that you know, genius boy genius brought over with
him from Milwaukee, and he never got an opportunity last year.
I can't remember why. He just got squeez or got hurt.
But he's been really good. I don't know. I think
the Mets might aim bigger or just not there By
the way, do you see McClain shruck out ten guys
(15:44):
yesterday and six innings at tripa A Just the Mets.
I think the Mets are basically sitting there going we
don't have to do a damn thing. We got mcclan,
we got tong, we got all these kids coming. We're gonna.
I mean, Mauricio, I think is the real deal. I
really do. I think Mauricios is the starting third basement
for the Mets next year, so I can.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
He's heard a lot of rumors about Mauricio. There's some
Mauricio for Edward Cabrera actually did you see this, by
the way, I did you see the I don't know
how much of a rumor it is, but apparently the
Mets and Marlins may have been talking mark Viento's Edward
Cabrera type of.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
Swell that I would I think that I buy. I
think Vientos is kind of I don't think the organization
was in love with Viento's and it to begin with,
and it showed last year when they brought in Jad
Martinez and he got pissed off and then he got
a fire lit under him and he was great last year,
and this year he went in and I think he
kind of just took things for granted. He didn't work
as hard, and it shows he has not been the
(16:40):
same player. And Mauricio is a much better defender. When
you watch Mauricio play third base, that kid he's got
a great arm. He is a really good defender. He's
got easy power. Mauricio is the starting third basement for
the Mets rest of season, and in fantasy I'm telling
you right now, if he's still available on a Wayver whire,
pick him up, because that dude is going to be
playing more at third base than that flexibility.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Those guys Batty Viento's Mauricio, Like that's.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
Those guys like Drew Gilbert too in that organization, Like
those are the kind of guys that gonna flip Baty
Viento's Gilbert Jet Williams, Jet Williams. Yeah, they're not they're
not moving. I'm telling right now, Mauricio is going nowhere.
I've watched him the last couple of games starting Oh
so good. Here's a good question too, ge Alito or
cease rest of season from Thoughtimus Prime.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
I'm still gonna go cease on that, but like we
we need to talk more and we need to be
like a little bit more apt to being like yes,
guys like Gallon and al Contra, who were Gallon turned
on the last two but it was like we're done.
These are the worst, like Sea says, like one of
the worst. He's like top it's like the fifth or
sixth worst e ra A qualified in baseball right now,
(17:46):
Like he doesn't. It hasn't clicked. He's felt confident, he
felt like it's going to happen, but we just have
not seen that turn on. Like I'm not ready to
turn the page and be like I'll go Lucas Giolito
and Seas for him, but like comfortable with Gilito. He
looks like he's fixed some things specifically with his fastball
that he figured out. But I'll still go Cease in this.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
We had a great discussion yesterday on the show. We
were talking about Tommy John's and all this stuff Joe
Rico and if you miss it, go watch on the
YouTube channel. Watched the Q and A from yesterday at
the live show. We had a great discussion I think
about mid halfway through where I said Gie Lidtle was
like the poster boy for the the prototypical young pitcher
career nowadays, whereas a guy with a lot of talent
out of Tommy John out of high school and they
(18:29):
still got drafted highly by the Nats. Then he was
the crown jewel in that crazy Adam Eaton trade, which
was one of the worst overpays ever at the time.
Like Adam Eaton for it was Donning Rainaldo Lopez and
Gilito little struggles.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
Adam Eaton was Victor Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
Yeah, role plays right, and you just like it was
just this horrible, you know, watching Gilito kind of toil
away with the White Sox having some moments there. Then
he has at one breakout year, then you know he
gets traded and here's another Tommy John and then you know,
now he's starting to figure things out. And in the meanwhile,
you know, all that matters is can you get that velocity?
Can get that spin? And he could do those things
(19:07):
and guess what, he's made sixty nine million dollars so
far in his career.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
Nice.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
So it doesn't matter how many arm surgeries you have,
because you just want to hit the velo. You want
to make the velo gods happy. I want to make
our subscribers happy too. Colt Partial just resub Thanks Cold
for hanging out with us here on the twitch. So
let's let's continue on here. Andrew Abbott also good outing.
Someone asked us yesterday on the stream, do you start
(19:33):
him against the Marlins? Ooh the Marlins? Ooh it's like
mister Burns, oh the gym Ands. Yeah, you start him
against the Marlins.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
Hopefully got a two e eight loss. You started against
everybody right now.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
Has a sizardo another good star for him, seven striker.
He is unnerving seven strikeouts, shutout innings against the giants
who can't do anything, and then we got to talk
about this. On the other side of that Andre Rabbit game,
Sandy al Contra nine hit six runs, two walks, four k's. Heikes,
this was laborious to watch. Noel way Marte hit a
(20:08):
two run home run off him. I don't know, man,
he's look back to getting crushed. I have never felt
so good about a trade in my whole baseball life
as this trade that I made a couple of weeks
ago in my home league, of getting rid of Alcontra,
mccleadahan and bringing in Stryder. And I almost feel guilty
and bad because I didn't think it would be like
(20:29):
this again.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
I know, you don't actually feel guilty and bad.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
No, I don't. I don't like I don't like that
although you're lying that with a guy the league a
couple of times, they've won that league a couple of times,
and I'm kind of like, you know what, maybe it's karma,
maybe it comes around.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
I think it's fine. I actually think this has got
to be Also, why the team is considering more of
the Edward Cabrera stuff that they're really looking to retool
for the future, and there's only so many guys like
sand al Contra's value is at an absolute rock bottom.
I mean, he is the worst qualified era in baseball.
It's not getting better even as expected. Era is still
(21:04):
just like almost five. It's a career low strikeouts, one
of the highest walks, he's had the highest walk rate
he's had in the last five years. Nothing is right,
and there's still like the pieces. That's the craziest part
of San die Contra. Why I can't wrap my head
around it, Like the vello is still about the same
on the four seam and the sinker. The slider hasn't lot,
(21:26):
Like none of it's I mean, slider's down just a
tiny bit, but none of it's like lost a lot
of the v low. But he's lost that feel, He's
lost that love and feeling. And I don't see why
this team would even remotely consider trading Sandy al Contra
for next to nothing. While you can just like let
him try to figure it out the rest of the season,
get into the offseason and probably gonna have to trade
him next year if you're going to do it, I
(21:47):
don't see any reason they should do it. I think
they're actually pretty damn stupid. If they were to trade
him for a bucket of balls while he's this bad,
this would be the fantasy thing too, Like, yes, you
want to have the best players at all time and
you want to get off the worst. But we talk
about it, there's got to be a rubber meets the
road where like the guy's potential talent versus what's being
offered right now is not even worth it. Like that's
(22:09):
where Dylan Cease might be. Right now, what people are
probably offering is probably garbage. Why you even consider it
in real life? Same thing with Sandy if they were
to go take like some double A prospect, you know,
the twelfth in some teams, twelfth in the Mets system
for Sandy, Ok, what's the point? What's the point of
developing these guys through and trading for nothing none?
Speaker 1 (22:28):
You just got to hope he builds back his value.
But more to the point, on the other side of that,
there's no way if I'm a contender that I'm coming.
I'm not going anywhere near Sandy al Contra right now.
Even if I think, I well, if you don't have
that toxic thing, like I can fix him, we can
fix it.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
I think there are teams that think they could fix him.
I think there are teams that if see that's the
trick is if you have a team that's identified and said, like, okay,
you know the change up. The change up has kind
of been the big discussion point. He's throwing it so
much less this year. It's been less efficient across the board.
The batting average that he's getting up, it's kind of
up there. If a team is like, we know how
(23:04):
we can you know, maybe there's a seam issue. We
can fix this here. We want them to throw a
little bit more there and we can get the sandy
that we've done in the past, then I think you
see a team that tries to schmooze the Marlins, like, hey,
what do you think about this? Doaa guy? And maybe
you know, we'll throw you a couple shekels or something
like that. Like that's the type of thing where teams
get fleece to make really bad decisions. The Diamondbacks the
(23:25):
same thing with Gallen. Like the Diamondbacks trading Gallon, even
on a contract year as crappy as he was, doesn't
make sense. And it's right of the ship. He's right
of the ship. Sandy is just a sink a boat though.
Speaker 1 (23:36):
Right now, all right, let's get the transactions. There are
a lot of them yesterday, including one of that kind
of shocked everybody. DJ Lemayhew, D Faidh and the Yankees
eating twenty two million dollars must be nice. It must
be nice to eat twenty two million dollars.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
Can you imagine getting fired from your job and getting
to keep all of your money just so you.
Speaker 1 (23:57):
Can go away? Let me let me Yeah, yeah, feels good.
Twenty two million dollars for doing nothing feels pretty.
Speaker 2 (24:05):
Did you hear it?
Speaker 1 (24:06):
I love my job, but that still feels pretty. Yeah.
I mean I loved twenty two million.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
I would love just a million dollars.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
More than you, that's for sure.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
Fifty thousand dollars. That would be amazing if anyone. By
the way, uh, the La Mayhew thing they said though,
there was like some discussion points he was they said
they're gonna bene him. They were really happy. Then they
talked a little bit more and then apparently like he
didn't want to be released, and they just said we're
gonna move on, and it be it was. It didn't
(24:35):
go cleanly, so Le Mayhew's definitely not happy. Didn't even
want to leave.
Speaker 1 (24:38):
But you go to the Red Sox. Yeah, they love
unathletic white guys there. He should go there, play some
first base. That's what you should play first base. And
I play against the Yankees in August in September and
keep this, keep them out of the win in the
East as soon as they go.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
And they can go and trade Jared Durant and pay
dj Lemaye. That's a winner store right.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
Well, don't have to pay him. The Yankees are paying them.
Pay the league minimum. That's what I'm saying. Bro. It's
if I was a Red Sox GM might be right
on the phone to a litle bit here right now. Hey, Bob,
what's going on? You want to come play against the Yankees?
Speaker 2 (25:10):
Free? Yeah? Free?
Speaker 1 (25:12):
Ninety Ninety's right. Joe Ryan added to the American League
All Star roster along with Isa Parredes. Very worthy additions there.
Colby Thomas got optioned down. Want to triple A wasn't
playing so whatever, and then the White Sox recalled him
Elko who got himself a hit yesterday. Rookie, lookie, don't
look now. Jack Caglion goes yard again. So I guess
(25:34):
is that Nick Kurtz thing where you just got to
wait till the bottom's out completely. But like, I'm happy
for Jack Caglion. I'm still holding onto him in the
one spot where I have him still and I'm you know,
patiently waiting to feel good about putting him in a lineup.
I'm not there yet, but certainly signs of life are good.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think that's the key. Like he
has hits in three of his last four games and
back to back homers, which is awesome. We're preaching like, hey, listen,
there's a i mean just historical data, but like there's
going to be adjustment periods, and we've seen Kurts do it,
and we've seen Cam Smith do it. This guy has
some of the best power in baseball. We're preaching all
those things because I love the barrel rate. He needs
(26:14):
to hit the ball harder, but that's going to come
with like a little bit more consistency. But he's still
hitting like sub two hundred. He's hitting like one fifty
this month, one thirty last month. It's still really really messy.
So like I don't feel bad when we finally said, hey,
if you can't do it, you know, like you can,
you can get out of here and you can move
on from him. But like, this is the preacher We've said,
(26:36):
this is the type of guy that you can get.
He's not striking out. It's a great point twenty two percent.
That's sustainable. That's very sustainable in the major leagues. He's
chasing way too much, which is a problem. But he
has got the sickest power out there that you know.
I if you can't stomach watching that, then you should
hold because I really I think there's going to be
one month, well it's fair to say one month he'll
(26:58):
hit over two hundred, but I think he's gonna have
one month this season. Maybe it'll be this, maybe it'll
be next, maybe it'll be September. That's about all that's left.
One of those is going to be like a two
seventy eight homer month. It's gonna be oh yeah, great.
There's a caring tool tonight.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
He's too good of a player, he's too good of
a bat to not turn things around. Kate Horton six hits,
four runs, want five strike costs, four and two thirds
and a loss to the Twinkies. Chase de Lauer one
for four with a two run homer on Triple A
What are we waiting for? Guardians? And Spencer Jones had
a good day too, two for four with a home
run for him at Triple A. Rumor Mill Jane P.
(27:32):
Morosi John Morossi reports that Joe Ryan is being monitored
by a number of teams, which means Joe Ryan is
not getting traded because John Morosi is always wrong you,
so you're not worry about that.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
Your thing with him is it's actually one of my
favorite things. Yeah, you've had this thing with anytime you
see a Morosi report, you just crap. I love I
love it, I love here.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
And has it been wrong ones? I mean it's if
Joe Ryan gets traded, well that I'll pologize, But.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
I don't think you need to apologize. This is a
pretty public one right now. It's I mean, it's on
the same lines as like Bob Knightingale, like putting out information.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
It's like Nightingale every now and then, get something right.
Morosi never does.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
I think Joe Ryan would be a super fascinating trade
out in the market because that would be like that's
a big fish, that's a real big fish. That's all
because of controllability. How great he's been. He's an all star.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
That's the kind of guy the Mets would move Mauricio for.
But I don't think they're going to do that.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
They would take more. I think quite a bit more
that would be.
Speaker 1 (28:28):
That's what I'm saying, is like, I just don't see
them doing that. Also, as we wash said, several teams
interested in Netra Cabrera, as they should be. He's been terrific.
Three up and three down. Everybody up hit two home runs,
sal Perez three for four, two dangers, jest Chisholomer twice yesterday,
Mike trouted a pair as well. The downs Logan Evans
six runs, a little four and two third, Kyle Hendricks
five runs and three and two third, and Kumar Rocker.
(28:52):
Such a shame, he was going so much better and
than the Angels just beat the crap out of him
six runs and four and a third. Injuries A little
light today, Terry Frank And it did say that the
Hunter Green has no road, nap or timetable yet.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
So this is your this is your shadow, Joe. By
the way, in the future, this is Hunter Green. It's
not Shane mcclan ann. Hunter Green is your shadow, Joe,
he cannot get back to the majors. Setbacks, it's all bad.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
Yeah, that groin boy eats some rubbin Brendan Laos missus
third straight game with a side issue. So I think
they're just babing him through the break. Just they're not
gonna put him on the el. They're just gonna give
them the All Star break. You watch, it's gonna be
super annoying. So hopefully you're mentioning him if you can.
Byron Boxing by Byron Boxing Byron Bucks then was removed yesterday.
I got hit on the hand and we just said it. Yesterday,
(29:38):
Joe Arica and I were just talking about, Man, what
a great season for Byron Bucks. Can you believe he
hasn't been hurt yet? And liked only because this is
the first year Welsh wasn't in on it.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
Well, And it's funny good it's funny that you say
that because me and Bogman have been talking about it,
and like about three weeks ago, I just completely said
I am back. I'm allowed to do that because I
have been a long time Bucks. I was so out
and I said, nope, I'm completely back in. I don't
care he looks like that elite player again, and then
he gets hit on the hand three weeks later. It's
(30:08):
just only appropriate. It's it's there's definitely a weird synergy
between him and I of like my love and he disappears,
you know, it's we'll never find each other. It's like
it's the notebook too, me and Byron Buxton.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
I should get a list of John Morosi. Uh failures, failures? Yeah,
because the Otani one was the most epic one, does it?
And then look this started way was that one one?
Just remember when he Atani's on a plane to Toronto
and he's gonna say.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah that one, yeah, oh.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
That was amazing two years ago. That was like the
biggest it's a done deal blah blah blah. You know,
he is all time bad And I told you it's
because friend of ours mentioned it to me and then
what you know, like someone says something and then you
can't unsee it. He's like, no, he just generates that
stuff because MLB dot com needs him to constantly write
an article two times a week, so he just generates
(30:58):
nonsense from his brain. Then that's true.
Speaker 2 (31:02):
Well, but there's also the battle of like these guys,
these guys are just fed information and the really good
ones for him, he's, well, but I'm saying the really
good ones get like multiple sources and really source it
out great before they do it. Like he was the
only one that was doing the Toronto thing, so it
feels like some like some dude just DMed him. And
he's like, those are all you know, let's roll it
(31:23):
out like the like he checked this like where is
Santa Claus radar meter and it you know, and showed
Toronto and he's like, that's so tawy, like it's it was.
It was a ridiculous report that he was doing that.
Speaker 1 (31:34):
Yeah, Like I said that that tracker needs to be established.
If I had more free time, I would do it myself,
but I don't. Unfortunately. Uh So there you go. H
let's get to some more injuries. Here we have Alex
Korus saying there's a good chance Alex Bregman will be
activated this weekend. Yoshida was activated yesterday. John Gray is
making my like rehab assignments for Triple A uh started yesterday.
(31:56):
And then Porter Hodge goes back on the io with
the right shoulder impingement, which brings us to the best
bets of the day with Joey p and the Welsh.
Let's start today with Seattle and the team total over
four and a half runs minus one twenty two. Marcus
Stroman's on the mound and in the itty bitty ballpark
that is Yankee Stadium. I think Marcus Stroman is in
(32:17):
for a tough day against the Seattle Mariners. I think
they go at least five runs and this one, if
not six or seven, give me the San Diego Padres
on the money line plus one eight today. I like
the upset special here at home for the Pods. And
then Jose Ramirez was just doing everything, just filling the
box score. Jose Aramiraz is still a base plus two
to twenty. He's been real active on the base pass
(32:37):
in the last couple of weeks. So I like those Welsh.
What do you like on a lovely Thursday?
Speaker 2 (32:42):
Yeah, by the way, bounce back yesterday two and one
Mark Lauer was my absolute favorite bet. That one absolutely crushed,
So two in one little back on it after the
bad one. So I don't love the card today. I'll
just let you know that it was a little bit
more of a struggle finding like the real big loves.
But I'm going with Seattle first five money line. It's
a little bit juiced up, but I want to back
(33:02):
Brian wu and as you mentioned, Strowman out there doesn't
make me feel super great love love Brian Woo. Great
video out there too, by the way of him calling
his parents and telling him about the All Star Game.
It's one of my favorite ones I've seen because a
lot of those are so set up. This is just
a cool one where he was doing it. Tampa Bay
first five money line.
Speaker 1 (33:20):
TODJ.
Speaker 2 (33:20):
Bradley's out there, but Walker Buehler's out there, and he
has been horrific over six era Red Sox have been hot.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
TODJ.
Speaker 2 (33:26):
Bradley has put up some good ones. Razor in it.
I just I really this is kind of a bet
against Walker Buehler and TODs Bradley holding it down. So
I'm going to take Tampa Bay first five money line.
So both of my first fives are money line, so
if we're tied, we get our money back. If they're up,
we win. And then finally I am going back to
Atlanta on the run line minus a little bit of
(33:46):
minus money out there for the Braves against the A
Spencer Striders on the mound back is fine. For Ronald Acunya.
Ball is flying in Sacramento, so let it keep flying.
For Atlanta, run lineup by two runs, full game minus one.
Speaker 1 (34:01):

wherever you get your apps. Today. Let's take a look
at the home run board. A lot of home runs yesterday,
so I got to imagine some some movement here. Georgia
thirty nine, Fisher King, whips, Fisher King at thirty six,
closing in whips at thirty five. The new high watermark
is twenty seven. Walk still are loan representative at thirty
on this board. The Sammsosa Jersey autographs still on the line.
(34:46):
Go to our Discord fantasypros dot Com slash chat. That's
the place to be where you can make your home
run calls. I'm going cal Rawley today plus one sixty
four Welsh Where are you going?
Speaker 2 (34:55):
I love that one, by the way, I love that.
I'm looking at that. I was like, dang, that's a
really good one. I'm gonna play kind of the same logic,
and I'm gonna go with Junior Cameron Arrow, who just
got added as a starter. Their starting their basement for
the All Star Game. He's added to the home run derby.
Homers are flying and I'm picking on Walker Buellers, so
I think he is taking one deep on pole side today.
(35:16):
I gotta get going here, Like I'm close ish to
the board, but I'm still far enough away that it's
going to take me a tiny bit. So I'm just
i gotta get some homers on the board.
Speaker 1 (35:25):
Fun question here from Uncle Baby Billy, Uh does the
Grom win Comeback Player of the Year. I have two shares.
I have ad Grom and a Ron Dakunia share for
Comeback Player of the Year. I like one of them
to hit. I do think those are your best two options.
Speaker 2 (35:40):
Man, I guess those have to be that's not a
market like you see like the current you know results
of I guess.
Speaker 1 (35:48):
Leading it right now in a second, while you while
you muse.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
Well, I'll just say I guess like the Grom would
have to be that guy. But I mean both both
good since no he's been amazing, but just saying both
of those guys also their teams can fail.
Speaker 1 (36:02):
I'merking the comeback player. You're Jacob mcgram minus eleven hundred
right now, So that looks pretty much like a lock.
Speaker 2 (36:07):
Oh did they did they break it down by lead?
Speaker 1 (36:09):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (36:10):
Then yeah, then smash.
Speaker 1 (36:13):
The same minus eleven hundred.
Speaker 2 (36:15):
Yeah, well, there's no looks.
Speaker 1 (36:16):
Like I won those two bets. Ching, ching, there you go.
I actually even see what the cash out is. I'll
as you just take the money and run before somebody
else gets hurt, if they're even giving it to me
at this point. But yeah, that's good questions there. For sure.
