Speaker 1 (00:02):
The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com
and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club. Cowboys blowing out of
the backfield, flowing down the sidelines.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
He's hanging with the boys now your hosts Nate Newton,
Kurt Daniels, Jesse Holly, and Shannon Gross sharing him.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
It's here, yeah, yeah, finally, that's why you lift all
them weights.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
You are looking live at.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
Ben Barnes, the back of Ben Barnes's head in the
Cowboys war room where it's probably about sixty five degrees
in there because it's freezing in here, but outside.
Speaker 4 (00:54):
It's gonna be hoting at a night baby wooh.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
Outside of the seventy four feels like sixty nine.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
The highest eighty, the low is sixty nine.
Speaker 4 (01:03):
He is Shannon Gross. That's three times Super Bowl champion,
which we pray that we get players to get back
to that point. They Newton in the back of Chris
Bean keeping his live and local, and y'all pray for
Chris Bean because Chris Bean gonna be back there for
the next seventy two hours a long long time. This
is Kurt one pump Dams because two pumps will get
you a fine and eye always am. You'll find this
(01:24):
one someting pepper poppy. Together we make hanging with the
bulls people.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Twelve and twenty twelve and twenty we speak.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Not only is the draft here, but so wingstopper is.
Speaker 5 (01:39):
Here twelve and twenty, twelve and twenty.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Should have got some wings stopping here today, Chris stopping
some stuff to snack on them back there? Besides catfish,
catfish still on the menu.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:53):
Was that a draft day?
Speaker 6 (01:54):
It was here?
Speaker 7 (01:56):
Was for lunchary today, Jesse.
Speaker 4 (01:59):
I just picked up some so it was like Asian. Yeah,
m hmm, so.
Speaker 5 (02:05):
Was it speaking?
Speaker 4 (02:09):
I saw you down there eating nowhere? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (02:16):
You want to talk today?
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Are you guys excited for the draft?
Speaker 3 (02:21):
Are you excited that the draft will be on its
way and over with by the end.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
Of the weekend?
Speaker 4 (02:26):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (02:27):
Yes, yes, Chris, Chris, yes, Chris. Hey, how's it going on?
Speaker 5 (02:32):
Back there?
Speaker 2 (02:32):
So long? He got his hair cut?
Speaker 7 (02:34):
But I did, honestly, Golly, you're the tenth person.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
I did not cut my hair.
Speaker 4 (02:39):
You didn't no cut it. No, I actually just did it.
Speaker 5 (02:44):
He washed it.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
I did my hair. That fixed it.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Yeah, I fixed his Hair's gonna it's gonna be a cameraon.
Speaker 7 (02:52):
Blow out to the those little shops you go get
your hair drying.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
Yeah, all right, before we get to the twelve and twenty,
as Nate says, or will it be twelve and twenty
or will they try to get cute and make headlines
and do something stupid?
Speaker 5 (03:10):
Twelve and twenty.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
Six and thirty nine, maybe nine and twenty nine.
Speaker 6 (03:16):
I wouldn't surprise me.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Maybe you just stay there and take the best on the.
Speaker 6 (03:19):
Board after last week's show, and maybe a wide receiver
professing that I think I'm with Nate.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
We'll get to that. We'll get to that wide receiver
comment first.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
But notice I never added none ever to this day
twelve and twenty.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
There there are very few people in this world that
are probably more recognizable and have more pull than mister
Jerry Jones that ever stepped foot in this building.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
But there was one, arguably yesterday, that.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
Rolled through the press conference, and as in Kurt's words,
it's all something around here. President Clinton just randomly walks
down the halls of the Star and walks into the
press conference, shuts it down for a few minutes, and
him and Jerry talk and were you up there.
Speaker 6 (04:13):
Kurt, I was not I did not have to get
to see the president.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
No crazy two Arkansas buddies chumming it up, just good
old boys.
Speaker 8 (04:21):
Huh, Chris, did you get to see him? I was
where I'm scarrently at, so I saw. I was streaming
the press conference, so I did see him. You didn't
run all my cameras. I knew something was coming up.
Speaker 5 (04:35):
The real life.
Speaker 4 (04:37):
Security got really tight. Would you would have a you
have a very good view of the Oval office, Shannon.
Speaker 7 (04:46):
I knew something was going down because security here got
really tight, really fast.
Speaker 5 (04:50):
It.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, interesting, interesting, that was crazy.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
Yeah what was he doing here? Does anybody know.
Speaker 6 (04:58):
They had some kind of meeting? I'm not sure who's Cherry.
Speaker 4 (05:03):
I have no idea.
Speaker 7 (05:04):
I know Jerry left the press conference. I guess what
a president shows up, you do, you kind of have
to drop with yeah, wait.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
Here to see you.
Speaker 5 (05:15):
Just a minute.
Speaker 4 (05:16):
But a Bill was just going on a toll way
like you know what, Hey, hang a right, let's see
what Jerry's doing.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
No, do you think that's the only person in the
world that Jerry would Usually Jerry, everyone waits on.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
Jerry, not presidents. Not presidents that's what I'm saying. He
picked one. Yeah, you could pick one.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
There is that the only probably person in this world
that Jerry would stop everything he's doing and just leave.
Speaker 6 (05:44):
I don't think any major political.
Speaker 4 (05:46):
Major Yeah, well, I don't know Phil Knight, Phil Knight maybe,
I think I think anyone who has I think presidency,
that's just a level of right, Like, that's the it's.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
Whether you like the president.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
You see a president, you're right. But I think anyone
outside that level of of of a dignitary, I'm thinking
it would have to be someone with the amount of
money or more than Jerry to the ability to get that.
Speaker 5 (06:20):
Right.
Speaker 4 (06:20):
Yeah, So like if if you said, like like Phil Knight, right,
like Phil Knight says, we need to talk, Jerry goes, hey, y'all,
you have a good one. We're gonna me and Phil
are going to have We're going to the Cowvich Club.
Were gonna have, you know, a few lemonades and and
and have a conversation.
Speaker 5 (06:36):
Because what you do know is they have already talked.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
And he said in President I'm on a very tight schedule, Jerry.
Speaker 5 (06:45):
Uh, I'm just doing the press comments. Just come right
on through.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
And yeah, yeah, hey, y'all look at her.
Speaker 5 (06:54):
Yeah, you got the same side, y'all.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
I got you think He was like, hey, Tad, I
know him.
Speaker 9 (06:59):
You let him through, probably but c I who protects
secret Service. Yeah, yeah, yeah, they probably excuse me.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
They kind of got twelve of what you got and
you got your move.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
Well anyway, that was that was kind of cool.
Speaker 6 (07:18):
Yesterday definitely made headlines that.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
Didn't make headlines. Something else that made headlines.
Speaker 4 (07:22):
Before we can shout out to my boy Joe Hoyt, Right,
Joey Hoyt, who's now worked for the Dallas Movies. He
was in the middle of a question. All right, So
now young Joe Hoyt, who's in the middle of a
question forever forever in a day, it's always going to be.
Now when the president came in, you're gonna see the
picture of Joe Hoyt getting like wait what as the
president was walking by, he was like, oh.
Speaker 5 (07:41):
This was my question.
Speaker 4 (07:42):
So that was pretty cool for for young Joe Hoyt.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
Another thing that made headlines yesterday and Jesse we were
talking about this right before the show came on.
Speaker 5 (07:53):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
It was stated that they have made the decisions that
Pickens I like, how they said he will play on
the tag. Not we're tagging him, but he will play
on the tag, which just you may have a different.
Speaker 6 (08:05):
Opinion any long term negotiating.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Yeah, right, well he will he play if the tag
is on him? Is the question?
Speaker 5 (08:11):
After? After what you heard it?
Speaker 1 (08:13):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (08:14):
The combine?
Speaker 7 (08:15):
Right?
Speaker 2 (08:16):
How does this change?
Speaker 3 (08:17):
Also there's some little that was intentional, very intentional the
day before the draft at the press conference, not through
not through a source or anything like that, Like, here's the.
Speaker 4 (08:30):
Deal, what do you what what do you read into that?
Speaker 2 (08:34):
Or what could you read?
Speaker 4 (08:35):
Man? And this is this is the time of the
year where we all go recrospect, you, right, because no
one actually knows and you try to piece things together
as best as you possibly can. But I look at
that and I go because there has been some rumblings
around the draft and who the Cowboys are picking as
of late. You heard of the Cowboys. You know, hey,
they may take a wide receiver and you know in
(08:57):
the first round one in particular Jordan Tyson. And if
I'm not mistaken, I know is he is he a
local kid? It was that Jordan Tyson, I know his
brother who plays in the NBA. Talking about talking about
a family full of jeans. His brother played high school
(09:21):
ball here. Yeah, I want to say, I want to
say so, so I mean bringing a local kid back home.
Jordan Tyson one of the highest rated receives and that
and again all recispect you here, but to come out
to have that definitive statement, to have the you know,
the rumblings around it, and we don't know who's going
(09:42):
to be picked. We saw the picture of the war
room with all those guys, and you know in there,
no one knows, no one knows how the draft may fall.
Someone in front of the Cowboys may take Jordan Tyson
and they might not have the ability to do so, right,
But in the event that they do decide to draft
Jordan Tyson in the first round, yeah he's out, Allen, Okay, Yeah,
(10:03):
I remember, I know, I remember his brother. I knew
of his brother. So, yeah, a local kid out. That
would be another one of those local kids stories that
they come back home. And but there's no way you
keep Tyson, CD and George Pickens, I told you, I
told you guys back in whenever whenever Combine time was
(10:25):
and I got a chance to sit down, as Jerry
and Stephen would say, I got a chand to sit
down with one of the principals and these type of negotiations,
and I told y'all then buckle up that this thing
was going to be. It was going to be, it
was going to be a role Rod And you know,
the Joneses and the and the Cowboys front office, they
they kind of smacked down their first spade and said,
(10:46):
we are no longer negotiating. He will play on the
tag this year. And that's that's tough to say when
you have a July fifteenth deadline to sign a tag.
You know, excuse me to to do the nego up
to negotiations and for them to say in April that
we are we are not negotiating at all, Like we're
(11:07):
done negotiating. So y'all no need to call us. And
Steven said, we talked to we talked to his representative
for about five or ten minutes, and we let them
know and everything is clear cut. How we're going to
do this in April, Yeah, not May not June, not
July fourteenth, because he got to the fifteenth. In April,
(11:30):
they said there will be no negotiation. He will play
on the franchise tackle he won't play at all. That's
what it is to me that that was a very,
very definitive statement.
Speaker 6 (11:41):
And I think that's just he's just negotiating. He's saying, Okay,
we're not We're not you know, you know, this is
where we stand. He's putting the ball in Lullgetti's court
to do. What would it I think if he calls,
I mean, they're not gonna not talk to him. But
I think I think it's a negotiating ployee. You know
that they're gonna make him if they want a deal,
(12:03):
they're gonna have to talk to the cowboys, and they're
gonna have to listen. You know, they're gonna have to
play ball with the cowboys. But they're not cowboys. Aren't
gonna spend forty mili on Pickens And if he's not
willing to take that, you know, thirty million or whatever.
And I don't think, don't waste our time calling. I
think I think he's just I think it's too one
(12:23):
he's putting up in negotiations. This is just a negotiations
thing to play hardball with Pickens group, And he's kind
of putting it out there to the world like, hey,
call us we got a guy for sale here. If
you want to trade, we're we're open for business.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
A dull moment, is it?
Speaker 5 (12:41):
Never?
Speaker 3 (12:41):
Would you be mad if they took a wide receiver
in the first round and traded George, Yeah, or just
took a I think they go hand in hand, right,
If you take a wide receiver in the first round,
he's probably gone.
Speaker 6 (12:54):
Right, spend the first pick on a third wide receiver.
I don't Yeah, I.
Speaker 4 (12:58):
Don't think that's that's not that's not a why, that's
not a.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
Say he's there at twenty? Is he good enough? Is
he coming to make an immediate impact?
Speaker 5 (13:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (13:07):
What do you mean?
Speaker 5 (13:07):
Yes? I yeah?
Speaker 2 (13:09):
Would you be mad that they didn't take two defensive players?
I guess it is my question.
Speaker 4 (13:13):
You can't keep him and you can't keep him CD
and George. That would make me upset. Okay, that would
make me upset.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
But you'd be okay if they took him if he
was the best player on their boy, if he was
there at twenty, they take him instead of a defensive guy,
you'd be a with that.
Speaker 4 (13:27):
Yeah at twenty? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (13:29):
Okay?
Speaker 4 (13:30):
Because I also think if you're trading George away, you're
going to get at least a first and a third,
first and a fourth, second and a third. However, that
plays out because most people will say, if you if
you drafted Jordan Tyson, I doubt that he'd be I'm
I doubt that he's there at twenty. I do, I
highly doubt that he's there at twenty. But if you
take Jordan Tyson, other NFL teams are gonna look around,
(13:52):
They're gonna go, well, you don't long hold the cards
about what you want to get for George Pickens. You
know what I'm saying, Like you the two the first,
the two first, two first round picks, which is kind
of where it starts at. That's out the window. George
is not worth two first round picks. I don't give
it damn what he does. He ain't worth two first
round picks.
Speaker 5 (14:13):
I agree.
Speaker 4 (14:14):
So now the next question is what is he worth?
And now, if a team knows that you already drafted
your next one B, then they're like, you know, we'll
give you up first, maybe a second and the third.
Because you look at the Wattle deal. Wattle went for
a first.
Speaker 5 (14:34):
Wattle.
Speaker 4 (14:34):
The Dolphins set Wattle and a fourth for a first, second,
no first, third, and fourth. They got a first, third,
and fourth for Wattle. So you gotta believe that George
is somewhere in that conversation. You know, maybe a team said,
we'll give you a second and the third, which is
(14:56):
and it'll be it'll probably be next year's second.
Speaker 6 (15:00):
Do you guys like that? They don't? You know, Hey,
we're fine with the franchise. We'll pay him on the
franchise tag.
Speaker 4 (15:06):
Or before you answer that, or another scenario that we
might want to catch them up again he called. They
called the Raiders and say, hey, yeah, you got Finanto Mendoza.
You might want to put some picks, some some some
some some receivers around him. We'll send you George, you
(15:28):
send us old Max. Now, for what I'm understanding is
if you do that, you would I think, remove the tag,
trade him or however it is, but you will lose
your compensatory pick that you were looking to get back
with that because of that trade. So I don't know,
I'm just saying, I'm just there's a lot of reci
(15:50):
speccy things that.
Speaker 5 (15:51):
Could happen, respect for real.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
So this is like how you approaching his jests and
breaking his down, And the bottom line is just right here.
Speaker 5 (16:08):
I like how the Cowboys were definite.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
I ain't saying they can't change your mind, Kurt, I'm
not saying, but they were definite, and how they spoke
it was clear. And I think somebody said after that,
they're like, and no more George Pickings. We gave you
what we're gonna give you. On George Pickings. They even
short with the media. So I like this better than
just letting things float in the air, because when you
(16:31):
let things float in the air, you got to take
this to training camp, and that is not fair.
Speaker 5 (16:36):
You do what you want. Your team is Jones. But
every year to have.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
This hanging over your head and the wide receiver coach
trying to work with these guys and put together a
team and George just missing. Oh hey go George, now
everything you don't you know what I'm saying. You have
to re arrange everything. And now I'm walking off the
field and have me a great day.
Speaker 5 (16:56):
Hey, man Ny, what'd you think about George? Man? George
ain't him right?
Speaker 1 (17:00):
You know he over there on the bench hanging out
doing this thing, eating bananas or what. You know what
I'm saying. So, man, I'm glad. I'm glad they put
their foot down. Now it's up to they camp, which
they camp already spoken about three months ago.
Speaker 5 (17:15):
We ain't coming, you know.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
So how would you feel if they you said, you
bi okay, if they took him at twenty, How woud
you feel if they took him at twelve?
Speaker 2 (17:24):
Tyson?
Speaker 3 (17:25):
I'm talking about yeah too rich?
Speaker 5 (17:29):
No, no, don't.
Speaker 4 (17:30):
I don't think it's too rich.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
You just need too much better?
Speaker 4 (17:34):
Yeah, yeah, like you better be sure like. And that's
why I think if they take Tyson at twelve, they've
already spoken to someone else on the back end, and
you could bet your bottom dollar that what they get
in return will be able to fill some of the
needs that they have on defense. Like if they say
we're trading away, we're getting a player and a draft
pick back from whatever team that may be, whether that's
(17:54):
a corner or a linebacker. And that's why, you know,
if I get if I get a good enough player
back in that I could take a second or third,
you know what I'm saying, I could take something else
if that player is good enough, if it's a linebacker
or a starting corner that's of that caliber, you go cool,
I'll take that player and your second and then maybe
(18:15):
a seventh or six in exchange for George Pickens. You
know what I'm saying, Like, then that would when I
see the entire deal, then I would be like, Okay,
that makes sense.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
Okay, all right, let's take our first break. When we
come back, I have a question for.
Speaker 5 (18:30):
Nate twelve and twenty twelve and twenty oh hanging.
Speaker 2 (18:33):

Speaker 1 (21:00):
Sexy he salt pepper Pop Pop old old popa sexy
pop out.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
Nate, I mean, yes, Nate, what's up?
Speaker 5 (21:10):
What's up? How you doing? Shining Shirt, getting a little
tighter game?
Speaker 4 (21:13):
Hey, sons out, sons out. But you know whatever, it's.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
Been rainy around here lately. Yeah, I ain't mad about it.
They are you glad.
Speaker 3 (21:25):
That the giants got rid of Sexy DEXI and you
don't have to face him twice a year?
Speaker 1 (21:31):
Yes and no, yes that you know they don't have
to face him. I ain't got nothing to do with
the cat. They don't have to face him. But they
got right.
Speaker 5 (21:41):
In front of us in the draft two picks.
Speaker 4 (21:43):
Yeah, they got right.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
So all of these these Okay, everybody that I listened
to in our community at Dallas Cowboys dot com.
Speaker 5 (21:55):
Like an able four players in the whole draft.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
So if you ain't moving up to get one of
these four great Ohio State players, you're gonna lose. So
what do you do? You position yourself to get to
get up and get you and get you one.
Speaker 5 (22:12):
Of these four or five great players.
Speaker 1 (22:13):
But Ohio State got the Cowboys still got their hands
tied because now they could be the Giants can get
the guy you wanted or the guy that you really
covered it because we all know, no matter who they draft,
they go, I got I, we got our Goyyan.
Speaker 5 (22:31):
You know, but that's how I go. Man.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
So I'm glad. But Dexter realized one thing. When you're
twenty eight, that's when you want to be working on
that last countract we're getting around twenty because when you
get thirty, it's hard to get your money unless you
are a quarterback a very very exceptional what you do.
And I ain't saying dex want to be exception in
(22:54):
three years, but I think he did the smart thing
and getting up out of here, getting it and getting
up out of this division.
Speaker 5 (23:02):
I know the Cowboys happy.
Speaker 6 (23:03):
You think that, okay, because Cincinnati a lot of the
mock draft went back and looked a lot of mock
drafts before the draft had them picking up a defensive guy,
so the same guy as the Cowboys were wanning. So
you know, the teams have changed, but not necessarily the
need the players need. But does it still change because
it's your division rival now instead of the Bengals, so
(23:25):
you see you every four years.
Speaker 4 (23:27):
I think overall because now Halball's trying to make this
team his own, right, players that he wants in this team.
And don't get me wrong, you know sexy dex he
makes every football team better, Yes he does. But if
if Jim is saying that my scheme and my team
could do better with you know, Sonny Styles and Caleb Downs,
(23:51):
then I'll take I'll take the two studs on the
rookie deals for the next four to five years, then
having to pay this ungullly amount of money to Dexter Lawrence,
especially when I have players like Kevon Thibodaux still on
my roster. I still have Brian Burns on my roster.
I still have a dual carter on my roster, so
it's like I have those other pieces as well. So
(24:13):
if I can get those guys to play at a level,
then they can make up for what what Dexter Lawrence
was doing. And then I add, you know, I added linebacker,
and I had that that that kind of that nickel
that nickels type safety.
Speaker 1 (24:28):
You go out and you find your guy and see,
you can't replace Dexter because Dexter can rush the passer
and stop the run. Equal enthusiasm all he once he said,
you ain't nothing happening up here today.
Speaker 5 (24:41):
It ain't gonna happen.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
But what they're looking for now is truly a run
stopping guy. If they can go out and find them
off the scrap heat, a run stopping guy. These other guys,
like Jesse said, they gonna do what they gotta do
because they gonna ask him to say, hey man, you
know you may not get no sacks, but.
Speaker 5 (24:58):
Can you just two gap this.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
I rap back on top of the quarterback, the center,
one of the guards. So I see what the Giants see,
you know, But who they draft is up to them.
But I'm praying by that that we have a shot
at one of them defensive players, one of them good ones.
Speaker 6 (25:18):
They might take a receiver Giants, right, I mean, they.
Speaker 4 (25:21):
Could possibly, I mean to me, with this draft and
for what the Giants want, I mean, I think there's
some other guys you could find, because the Giants have
a lot of picks as well. You could find something
later on in the draft to supplement or the compliment
I should say, Malik Neighbors.
Speaker 7 (25:39):
But but in some circles, people think that that trade
actually helped the Cowboys to get push a player to
them on defense, because, like Kurt said, Cincinnati, it was
always plugged the defensive player. Well, now the New York
will probably get a defensive player the first pick, which
we kind of already knew that was going to happen, right,
the second can pick. A lot of people think that
(26:01):
they're gonna go offense like an offensive lineman, which.
Speaker 4 (26:03):
They need, truly need, true need.
Speaker 7 (26:08):
That pushes the more offensive players that happen to be
before twelve ultimately help stylet.
Speaker 4 (26:14):
Right unless they take downs and styles and then we're like, oh,
I understand that, but but the tackles are thin up top,
so you better tape them up top because they're not
gonna be there at the bottom and you're gonna be
in the same situation.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
Two Giants do teams in your division. Do they ever
play defense in the drafts like like this situation, would.
Speaker 3 (26:38):
The Giants ever be like, man, we got we value,
we have the same grade on this wide receiver and
this cornerback or safety. We know the Cowboys need defense.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
We're gonna take We're gonna block them.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
Does that ever happen or to do fans just get
more aggravated because they get two picks that until before.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
You, for Jesse, come with common sense. That's stupid because
you're not you're not building your team. You can't block.
I'm gonna go out and get me a tackle, knowing
like I need eight defensive ends. No, and I'm gonna
get no, sir, I don't care what same grade. That's
(27:21):
when need takeover. I need this defensive tackle. I'm getting
this defensive tackle. You can't you can't play them games.
Ain't nobody in this league that good.
Speaker 5 (27:32):
You cannot play those games.
Speaker 4 (27:33):
Just you know you're you're absolutely right. I think that's
more of the game that played later in the draft. Yes,
you know what I'm saying, fifth round, sixth round, where
they kind of like looking around like you know what.
Speaker 2 (27:42):
I know they really want this guy.
Speaker 4 (27:44):
You know, now, what could happen is the Giants could
look at another team and go, hey, I know y'all
also need to watch a call it. That's right, y'all
trying to jump up here. You know what I'm saying.
Now I get I still get what I want while
blocking you know, the Cowboys or another division rivals getting theirs,
but playing around on the top ten right there, you
better focus on because you when you're the first order
(28:08):
of operation is how do I build my team to
win my division? Right that's the first to get to
a super Bowl likelihood is I want to win my division,
and then I want to win you know, the conference,
and then I get to the super Bowl. So it's like,
all right, what do we have to do because you're
always chasing whoever is in front. So if you're looking
at right now, it's Philadelphia. So what what do I
(28:28):
need to help my team beat the reigning division champions?
And then now I start building my roster that way,
you know what I mean, Like, of course you have
your needs, but just I'm trying to build my roster
in the sense of here's how we're going to win
the East, here's how we're going to win whatever. And
so then I go from there then we start moving out.
(28:51):
But in the first first round, especially those top ten
to fifteen picks, you ain't playing around with that. You know,
that is the that is the foundation of who your
football team is going to be, you know, for years
to come.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
All right, let's take our last break when we come back.
Who do we think they will pick later tonight?
Speaker 4 (29:16):
What the should we do? Both picks or just Oneah?
Both picks, both peoples, both picks.
Speaker 2 (29:20):
Man, help me, Chris, Chris is gonna tell Nate who
who the guests break? I know who that is. When
we come back on hanging with the boys, We're right back.

Speaker 4 (34:28):
The beer is not free, it's inside.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
It's inside the inside. If it does rain, you don't
have to worry about that. Nope.
Speaker 4 (34:34):
And if you're close to Oklahoma, come holler at you boy.
I'll be at Windstar Worlders.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
You know you'll be up there a Windstars table or
good for you.
Speaker 4 (34:41):
I'm definitely going twenty on the yo, definitely going on twenty.
Do you gamble?
Speaker 5 (34:46):
Yeah you do.
Speaker 2 (34:48):
I didn't know if you gambled or not. I know
you don't. You don't drink. I didn't know if you
had any any bad thing. You're such a good human.
Speaker 4 (34:54):
No, I just I'm I'm very strict in what I do.
Like I take cash in my ID. That's it it.
Everything else stays in the same spot.
Speaker 5 (35:03):
Yeah, it stays back.
Speaker 4 (35:05):
And then if I whatever, I so how I always
play whatever I bring in cash. If once I start winning,
I put that back in.
Speaker 2 (35:15):
My pocket and play on house money.
Speaker 4 (35:17):
And I play on house money.
Speaker 2 (35:18):
And if you run out of house money, you go home.
Speaker 4 (35:20):
If I run out of house money, I go half
of what's in my pocket. Okay, if I go half
of what's in my pocket. Back on, going on into
the room. Brother, get you, get you, get you something
to eat, and go ahead on back at the go
ahead on back to the room.
Speaker 2 (35:31):
Right, Well, good for you. If you're up in Oklahoma,
go see Uh, go see Jesse.
Speaker 4 (35:35):
I'll be at One Star War. I'll be at the
I'll be at the Cowboy Room.
Speaker 5 (35:38):
Will you.
Speaker 4 (35:38):
I'll be at the Cowboy Room.
Speaker 3 (35:40):
They've supported the Cowboys for a long time, so go
support them if you're up that way.
Speaker 2 (35:44):
But if not, come out here.
Speaker 5 (35:46):
There be lots of stuff.
Speaker 2 (35:47):
What are you doing tonight, Kurt watching on TV? Yes, Nate,
you got any thing? Going on tonight.
Speaker 1 (35:52):
I'm trying to see half far I can drive during
the draft Oklahoma, right the street, halfway halfway there. Then
I turn around when they get halfway start when.
Speaker 5 (36:00):
They get the twelve I was sixteen.
Speaker 4 (36:01):
Let's talk turned back around. Remember he's driving to Pittsburgh
and pick the guy up.
Speaker 2 (36:07):
That's right, that's right back in the morning.
Speaker 5 (36:10):
Would be so great.
Speaker 2 (36:11):
He pulls up, opens the door of the bus.
Speaker 4 (36:13):
Shove on it. Let go, let's go. I got something
to tell you.
Speaker 2 (36:17):
You can't sit in the back of the bus. You
gotta sit right here on the steps.
Speaker 4 (36:20):
So little start nothing won't be nothing.
Speaker 2 (36:22):
Yeah, you want to be great? Set it up here, set.
Speaker 1 (36:24):
Up here, twelve and twelve two, have two up, pull
out of it.
Speaker 2 (36:30):
Does anyone in this room think that they.
Speaker 3 (36:33):
Are gonna pull some shenanigans and move up or back?
Speaker 5 (36:38):
Here's my thought.
Speaker 2 (36:39):
I hope they don't.
Speaker 3 (36:41):
I just feel like the urge and the need to
make a move. It's gonna be too hard to not
do it. Because you have collateral. You have more collateral
than you've had since what DeMarcus ware.
Speaker 2 (36:57):
And you also have more holes and spears you do.
Speaker 6 (37:00):
You had two and two thousand and they got Jenkins
and Felix Ches.
Speaker 4 (37:05):
Whatever they are in two thousand and seventh.
Speaker 6 (37:09):
Anyway, seven, I.
Speaker 3 (37:11):
Just I don't I feel like they're gonna do something
in the first round.
Speaker 2 (37:17):
I hope they don't, because I think you can.
Speaker 3 (37:20):
Get two good, solid picks you need at twelve and twenty.
I think there's going and this draft's gonna is this
draft gonna.
Speaker 4 (37:29):
Be weird to weary weird?
Speaker 3 (37:32):
Is it gonna be weird to where there's guys that
are they're projecting in the top five or six that
wind up falling to us?
Speaker 2 (37:40):
Never know, because there's some drafts that.
Speaker 3 (37:41):
Are kind of all over the place, aren't they the
draft pundits don't they kind of have different.
Speaker 2 (37:46):
Views outside of like the top two or three.
Speaker 1 (37:49):
The thing that it's messing this draft up, and this
is where, uh, this is where the hardcore teams that
have alreadys drafted well can We're gonna have a feast.
And the teams that didn't that don't uh, gonna have
problems because there's not three quarterbacks. It's not three quarterbacks
(38:13):
that it's gonna be taking in the top twenty.
Speaker 5 (38:14):
So now, oh it's a bad draft.
Speaker 1 (38:16):
Not for the not for the teams that know what
their system is, who they coach are, who they they
know what they want, and they know what they're going after.
Everybody has their grade. So people that draft, well, gonna
continue to draft, well people that's kind of hope this
and hope that. Now, Bro, hope, I ain't hope ain't
(38:37):
gonna win. You know, super Bowl?
Speaker 5 (38:39):
Why you don't have it? You don't have it, man.
Speaker 4 (38:42):
Because I know I know what that competition would have
been had we not been on head.
Speaker 5 (38:48):
Hope this gonna get a rappers. You're gonna get no
rapp We don't need no more now.
Speaker 3 (39:02):
No, all right, Kurt, Yeah you kick us off since
you put this together?
Speaker 2 (39:06):
This fine Cowboys draft?
Speaker 5 (39:09):
Yeah, hey tonight tonight.
Speaker 2 (39:13):
Please follow along?
Speaker 5 (39:15):
Follow along because.
Speaker 1 (39:16):
Every time someone get drafted, write to the team where
they got drafted, going down and just that way you
can keep I'm taking this book. I'm just letting you
know that right now, so I can do that right now?
Who draft what? So when the year start? I thought
this dude was a killer, Well, why he ain't starting?
Speaker 5 (39:33):
This dude is wanted to be this right here? Why
he ain't starting?
Speaker 2 (39:36):
You know what I'm saying who do you have them
take it?
Speaker 13 (39:39):
Or?
Speaker 2 (39:39):
Well, first off, do you think they should trade up
or down? Or would you stay put?
Speaker 6 (39:42):
I hope they stay put at twelve. I wouldn't mind
them trading down at twenty not far, but stay in
the first but hopefully pick up another day two maybe, yeah, pick.
It'd be nice to have fire parallel there to go. Yeah,
I've seen it couple of drafts and it's wish for thinking,
but they're some out there. I think downs might follow
(40:05):
us possible.
Speaker 4 (40:06):
I've seen that too.
Speaker 6 (40:07):
Yeah, so I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed and hope
we don't have to move.
Speaker 4 (40:10):
You stole my God, you can pick them too, I could.
Speaker 2 (40:14):
And then what about twenty.
Speaker 6 (40:16):
Well, twenty I would like to see again. I wouldn't
mind him dropping back a little bit. And I kind
of like, well, I was gonna say Theeneman, but if
you're taking a safety with the first one, then you
probably you can't get him. So but the I don't know,
corner defensive edge either one of those two. I don't know. Fuck,
I know he's been mentioned a lot. Yeah, the kid
(40:36):
from a Minute.
Speaker 4 (40:37):
Miami Messadors Door Keem Messadorah somewhere in.
Speaker 6 (40:42):
There would be nice. Okay, I'll get you another pick.
Speaker 4 (40:45):
All right, what about you, jess Uh For me, what
I said this in the to Nick eat me this
morning for my picks, I think that man sword delaying
the cornerback from LSU with all that's happening in the
first round, and I think the Cowboys stay put. I
think that whole them moving up is just you know, clickbait.
(41:05):
To me, I think they stay put at twelve and
they grabbed mansword de lane and then at twenty. The
the selfish pick for me, the offensive selfish pick for
me is if Kenyan Sadik tight end out of Oregon
(41:26):
is still available, because I'm I've when it happens, i
just want everybody to go, say Jesse told y'all eight
months ago when this league started doing more tune three
tight end sets. I'm telling y'all go, I just think
if George is going to be here for at least
one more year, George CD on the outside, ferg and
(41:47):
a Sadik in the middle, that would be that'll be crazy.
Speaker 1 (41:53):
But I've tried to tell somebout it at tight end
and they started laughing. I'm like, wow, Yeah, but that's
that's my selfish.
Speaker 4 (41:59):
What's sink? I think I still think man Sword de
Laye at twelve, and then I think Keldrick falk at twenty,
and then we're gonna see how good B. T. Jordan
really is. Can you turn Keldric Falk into a good
pass rusher?
Speaker 6 (42:15):
He got a little bit of criticism or he was
like came close alive but didn't finish.
Speaker 4 (42:22):
Yeah, he ain't got that curt in him.
Speaker 6 (42:25):
I ain't got that curt in him.
Speaker 4 (42:27):
Yeah, he ain't got that curd of him. You know
with Kurt Now, it ain't almost for Kurt boy.
Speaker 5 (42:33):
Yeah, well it's.
Speaker 6 (42:33):
Top curtain doing he do. He's young and single, he
get home.
Speaker 5 (42:37):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (42:39):
He ain't got that curt in him.
Speaker 5 (42:42):
Nate.
Speaker 2 (42:42):
Before we get to you and Beam, I.
Speaker 3 (42:46):
My head tells me that they're gonna get Bane ooh,
but my heart, I'm gonna go with Downs and then
I'm gonna go with Falket at twenty like Jesse. So
I'm stealing one one from Eat you you guys cool.
Speaker 7 (43:01):
Nate, Chris, Chris, Nate's just gonna copy me probably, that's right,
that's right, that's right.
Speaker 5 (43:09):
Chris when he said Nate, I said, Chris.
Speaker 7 (43:11):
Yep, man, So I think it's gonna be Delaine like Jesse,
let's go.
Speaker 4 (43:17):
Okay, that's what I think.
Speaker 2 (43:18):
I would love that.
Speaker 7 (43:19):
I think he'll he'll fall, corner, he'll fall, and then man,
this may be a shock, okay, but I think Baine's
gonna fall.
Speaker 4 (43:33):
And we'll get him at twenty. Okay.
Speaker 2 (43:35):
I like that.
Speaker 7 (43:36):
I would be I would get a lot of people
like if you look at the stats, a lot of
people don't like those like those old arms. I mean,
he has a heck of a motor. But you know,
that's what I'm gonna go with. I don't know, We'll
see what happens.
Speaker 2 (43:48):
Wow, what about you, Nate.
Speaker 1 (43:51):
The thing is, we don't have a defensive vent, I
mean outside linebacker. We don't have any natural outside lineback,
so we need we need those type guys. But I'm
going with Chris. I mean, because I'm not gonna act
like I'm sitting up here following the draft and no, sir,
(44:11):
no sir, this.
Speaker 4 (44:12):
Is what I do is gonna do is they said,
I'm just gonna go ahead and follow Chris.
Speaker 1 (44:18):
This is what I do believe Fellas I said at
the beginning, and everybody laughs, I said, with the twelfth pick,
we have to get a defensive player.
Speaker 5 (44:28):
And what I think what we need the most out
of all of this.
Speaker 1 (44:33):
Is that outside linebacker that can rush the passer.
Speaker 5 (44:38):
We got the.
Speaker 1 (44:39):
Middle taken care of and when and I've always believed
that if you got the defensive tackles and the nose
guard and there's three three four defense taken care of,
now you can get solid veteran linebackers that leaves only
one position uncovered.
Speaker 5 (44:57):
We do not have an outside rushing linebacker.
Speaker 1 (45:01):
I don't know who that guy is in the draft,
who can be converted or who's natural at it, but
we need that more than anything. Because we can get
that guy, we can jump somewhere. We can do some things.
Speaker 5 (45:13):
I really believe that.
Speaker 1 (45:14):
And after that, right now, with that twentieth pig, if
a tackle fall of you offensive tackle, please get them
that twenty yeah, please get them.
Speaker 3 (45:26):
A lot of different things that could happen tonight, and
pretty much all of them, all of them we need.
Speaker 2 (45:32):
So stay tuned.
Speaker 5 (45:34):
We don't need a kicker, No, that up.
Speaker 3 (45:40):

that butterfly garden.
Speaker 2 (46:25):

because yes, we're waiting on you to hopefully. I'm not
staying up just you know.

standing in the witch.
Speaker 2 (46:38):
More than a few hours. Man, don't need it in
my house.
Speaker 3 (46:46):

last night?
Speaker 4 (46:49):
Oh boy, did you stay up? Kurt?
Speaker 6 (46:52):

Speaker 1 (46:53):
After the first Oh t I was like, so what
happened with the Stars?
Speaker 4 (46:58):
Sure they want in the second double overtime?
Speaker 5 (47:02):
Is they gonna be good this year? Are they great
in the playoffs?
Speaker 4 (47:05):
Really good?
Speaker 5 (47:05):
Regular They're gonna take it. They're gonna take it.
Speaker 4 (47:07):
All a busing around the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (47:09):
If they can get out of these first two games,
they got a really good shot at it.
Speaker 1 (47:13):
So goalie is the most important the first two series.
Is goalie the most important person?
Speaker 4 (47:18):
Well, when they said that last year they fired the
coach out that he was kind of.
Speaker 1 (47:23):
I don't keep a walking So that's why I ask
these silly questions.
