Can he get the players he needs, especially a nickel back? Can he make changes quickly? Will people be patient? One thing is for certain, though … Parker is off to a good start.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
That was amazing?

Speaker 7 (02:17):
What was that?

Speaker 8 (02:17):
Well?

Speaker 6 (02:18):
Because he's done like three or four interviews before he
came to our show to do it.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Shout out today for the top of bout the d ls.

Speaker 7 (02:27):
He didn't mix shots this week, and.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
A disgrace mix shots, that's what that's.

Speaker 7 (02:32):
What We drawed a lot and we can't even get
him on our own.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
As we drawed a lot. You know, you're welcome anytime
at d l S date, but we drowed a line
at the other show. We got a live right there.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
What was it for for his the news that.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Thing, Yeah, if you want to hear, and we had
the first public appearance over at d LS Stop Stop Stop.

Speaker 6 (02:52):
That was so that was one of the just to
pull the curtain back, since Nate likes to do this
to us, like we have a group chat with us, Nate, Chris, Jesse, Kurt, Me,
and not only do we talk about we don't even
talk about the show. Kurt sends the rundown in that.
But then we just send each other random stuff. We

(03:12):
probably send.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
What one thing a day day.

Speaker 6 (03:16):
There's more big eyes, you know, the big guy looking
look at this article. Sometimes they go unanswered, and then
you get nervous, like, oh, did offend somebody? We send
stuff that's sometimes not appropriate, and then so we we
I think we all saw.

Speaker 7 (03:35):
The news that morning about Nate.

Speaker 6 (03:39):
But Nate's kind of touchy on certain things, and that's
something about his past that like he acknowledges, but I
think he would rather leave that in the past and
just move forward and look. For those of you that
don't know him, Nate's the first one to tell you like, hey,
I made some bad decisions in my life, but he's right,
or or other things, multi but he's he's one of

(04:03):
the people I can truly say like as he's gotten older,
he's changed.

Speaker 7 (04:09):
He's you know, dedicated.

Speaker 6 (04:11):
His life to to Jesus, whatever he believes in Jesus.
And he's really a he's really a good stand up human.
And he doesn't talk a lot. You're not gonna get
a lot out of him unless it's like on a show.
And certain things freak him out. And he won't talk
about death, he won't talk about there's a couple of
other things that you know, he just walks off like

(04:32):
he doesn't you know, he just he just checks out
of the conversation. And so we had all seen it,
and I was like, I want to say something, but
I really don't know how he feels about it. It's
like I don't know if he wants to leave in
the path. I was like, I almost send something anyways,
So I sent in the group how.

Speaker 7 (04:48):
You voting this year?

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Date?

Speaker 7 (04:50):
That was funny, and then it's just silence. And then
Jesse jumps in and goes.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
I'm glad you sit down there. I he was, and scared.
I was sitting there to know what was going on
because like again, like the thing about it is is
that we're friends, right, So sometimes you're like, you don't
want to bring the social media nonsense into friendship, but
you still should be able to talk to your friend

(05:15):
like you talk to your friend. But I was like,
probably like you, Kurt, definitely like you said, I was like, man,
how do we approach this? Do we say congratulations? Like
you know, it's like how do we how do we like,
how do we approach this? And I was like, well,
I'll just wait till I see him a person and
see what you know. And then when you sent the text,
I was like, well, all right, somebody says something you
know like and then and then Nate kind of he

(05:37):
responded back to it, but he made us wait.

Speaker 7 (05:40):
It was like two hours. I was like, oh, because
I was like.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
He might talk about it, because I'm like, do I
call him offline? Like how do I? Like, how do
I approach this? Because I was like, because I do
want to know because inevitably be for me who has
a social media presence, and I'm on you know, Twitter,
I'm gonna get Barrod's you know what questions, what does Nate?
And I'm like, I don't know. I don't have an

(06:07):
answer for any of you. I don't know. I don't
know what it means, because because literally when you see it,
you think part I was like the Lincoln locked up
and I didn't know about Like, I didn't know any
of this. So I was kind of like, well, what
is this, Like, tell me what this? I wanted to
know what does this mean? And uh, and he eventually,
you know, he spoke about it, and he said what
it meant?

Speaker 6 (06:26):
Yeah, So since he's not here, since he tailed on
the show and gave four or five other interview to talk.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
About it, Yeah, what what.

Speaker 6 (06:34):
Give us kind of the cliff notes version Jesse of
what Nate? How Nate felt about it?

Speaker 1 (06:37):
Would he so, again, do you know, due to his
past transgressions and the things that he got in trouble
for felony charges that he got in trouble for in
his past, you know, certain things that you have to
work through and certain things that still on your record forever.
And so now being part in those things, he's no
longer restricted by those things that you know, his chargers

(07:00):
and stuff like that, right, but you know, like which
I didn't realize a lot he said he was still
voting though, like he said, like that fellow those fellow
trackers didn't stop it from voting, but like firearms, and
you know, it kind of gets wiped off your records, Okay.
He he kind of gets a chance to just live
that life and not have that hanging over his head,

(07:22):
uh anymore. Not that Nate's gonna do anything to have,
you know, for that to be hanging over his heading
like that, but it's kind of just like white clean okay.

Speaker 6 (07:29):
Yeah, and yeah, and that's one of those things like
if if I didn't know Nate, like I would have
read that and just been like, that's random as hell.
President just pardoned. Was it five in a former NFL
players of felonies?

Speaker 7 (07:44):
I was like, one, I didn't.

Speaker 6 (07:45):
Know most of those guys had felonies. Just I know
about Nate because he's on the show. And I think
there was one other who was the guy.

Speaker 7 (07:51):
Cleo the Raven No, the ravens oh oh jamal oh
Jamal Lewis. Yeah, I knew about him, but I didn't
even know Cleco had a felony.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
And then I was like and.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
Why now, like you know, like and Nate talked about
how he got the call. And again, for those that
don't know Nate, this was nothing that Nate at least
is what he said. He said that he's like, I
didn't act for this. I wasn't campaigning for this. It
was as much as it was surprised to you, it
was a surprise to him. But he said that, you know,
he got got a couple of calls from Jerry Jones'

(08:22):
uh personal assistant, not miss Maryland. Uh the I don't
know the new guy's name.

Speaker 4 (08:29):
What's the new guys Mickey Miles.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
Yeah, Mickey Mouse.

Speaker 4 (08:31):
It's a woman.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Oh sorry, not.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
To be confused with Mickey Mouse. That's on your hand.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
I had, but yeah, I got a couple of calls
from her. So Nate was like, you know, like yeah, right.
So so Nate's like, I get the halls like leave
the message and and uh. And so Nate's like, what
did I do? What did I say? Like, have I
done anything? That's what he said, Like, like, like, what

(08:57):
did I do? I didn't do anything. And He's like,
you know, can you come up Can you come up
to the to the stadium, to the to the office
tonight during this time, So Nate said, initially he was
like he said, he told his wife. He's like, imagine
he said, I ain't going to that. I'm not going
up there, said, I'm not going up there. Said mister
Jones wants to see you at his office. And so
he called him back and spoke to mister Jones like, yeah, man,

(09:19):
come on to the office, like I got I want
to talk to you about. It's really important, so he said.

Speaker 6 (09:23):
And you know all them TV shows and stuff that
Nate watch it, He's like, that's how folks disappeared.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
So Nate's like, he's like, you know, it's like he's
like got his wife and said, you know, hey, come on,
let's go up there. Said he got up there, and
he said Jerry was sitting on the side of his office.
Came on and sat on the side next to Nate
and he told him, you know, the news and he
was like wow, you know, you know Nate Wow, And
you know, he said he thanked mister Jones, and you know,

(09:48):
he said, like, you know, how can I think the
president like, you know, how can I think mister Trump,
Can I call him? Can we call him?

Speaker 2 (09:55):
Like now?

Speaker 1 (09:56):
He's like, I don't worry about calling him like that,
Like I don't want to say thank you. He's like, this,
this is you know, this is a blessing. He just said,
you know, this is kind of one of those things
where you talked about Shannon, where he's like, you know,
you do some wrong in the past, but you know,
you have the chance to turn your life around and
start living right, and you get rewarded for living right,
and this is one of the rewards. He feels like
the blessings. He feels like he's been been granted for

(10:17):
turning his life around and living the right way, and
that those old things that you may have done that
they don't necessarily they don't necessarily hold you down. Oh
will hold you down for the rest of your life.

Speaker 6 (10:28):
So so, Nate, I don't think he likes to talk
about this because we never talk about it. But I think,
I mean, I'll speak for me. I don't know, I
want to speak for you guys. But does this open
up the hall of fame conversation?

Speaker 8 (10:44):
Oh, ring of honor?

Speaker 4 (10:47):
Hall of fame?

Speaker 6 (10:47):
Because never thought about that, because I think that's you
know that that's probably held.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
Him back because of those things, because of those things.

Speaker 4 (10:56):
So now does that open up?

Speaker 7 (10:57):
Like okay, like.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
I never thought of yeah, because he's.

Speaker 6 (11:01):
Got what, he's got more Pro Bowls and All Pros
than guys that are that are in there right.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
Probably, yeah, I'm sure the six Pro Bowls to first
team All Pros, three All Pros overall.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
Yeah, I want to say the number is and what
three super Bowls? Three Super Bowls and there's.

Speaker 6 (11:17):
Only what one guy on that offensive line that's in
the Hall of Fame, Larry Allen, And that line blocked
for the all time leading rusher without them, and it
would not be the and he's in.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
And probably the personality of that oh yeah, of that line,
you know what I mean, Like he was probably he was.

Speaker 6 (11:39):
The one that actually talked to the media, would entertained
the media.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
He was probably the heart and soul.

Speaker 6 (11:45):
And you think about like offensively, he blocked for Troy Aikman,
he blocked for Emmett Smith, he blocked on the line
with Michael Irvin.

Speaker 4 (11:56):
All three of those guys are in.

Speaker 8 (11:59):
So yeah, he was second team all decade and there's
a lot of guys on that second team that are
in the Hall of Fame that you know he's deserving
of them.

Speaker 6 (12:09):
You know, we need to start at can we Chris?
Can we start a campaign on the show?

Speaker 4 (12:13):
Get Nate? Get Nate in the hall? Sure?

Speaker 1 (12:17):
Does he go after Darren Woodson or before Darren?

Speaker 7 (12:20):
That's a great question. Get him in the ring first,
all time leading tackler for the cowboy. That's it. I'll
tell you what.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
It's a damn shame.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
It's a shame that he you know what makes it
even more of a shame. And we're not trust when
we're not burning lead, We're gonna get into the Christian
Parker conversation. We're talking. We'll talk about Christian Parker, who
we all hurt, spoke yesterday. But and I say that
to say because one of the things that Christian Parker
talked about yesterday was when someone asked him what was
the most important position that he looked at on defense,

(12:50):
and it was a nickel, it was a slot corner.
And he talked about, you know, sometimes he has to
be a safety, sometimes he has to be a backer.
Sometimes he has to play an inside. Sometimes he has
to cover the tight ends. Ali thirty years later, you're
still trying to find a guy who did it. You're
still trying to find Darren Woodson, the originator of the basically,

(13:10):
you know what I'm saying, Like Darren Warten was, he
was the originator of that position of a guy who's
played safety step came down in the box, filled in
the you know, in the run game, was a hybrid linebacker,
played the slot, cover tight ends, cover robb receiver was
the nickel like and this is the guy that we're
still talking about now who's not in the Hall of Fame?

Speaker 6 (13:28):
Was Is there anybody besides Haley and I guess Dion
Haley and Dion from that team that's in the Hall
of Fame?

Speaker 1 (13:36):
That defense? Yeah, defense, I don't think. So it's just Haley.

Speaker 6 (13:42):
And Dion was kind of a mercenary, kind of part time.

Speaker 4 (13:45):
Well Haley was too.

Speaker 6 (13:46):
I guess he was just here for a few few years.
So you got both here five five, So you got
Woodson that was.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
Yeah, but you know what I mean.

Speaker 6 (14:00):
All right, speaking to Christian Parker, A lot to get
to there. A lot of stuff was said at the
press conference yesterday. So we'll let's take a break and
then spend a lot of time on actually talking about
football things for once on hanging with the boys.

Speaker 4 (14:14):

wasn't here. And then around the corner here he comes with.

Kurt put on there. You know my presidential partner I

I'm like, no, this is bigger than That's why I
put Wild on the No, No, this bigger than this.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
We're just talking about.

Speaker 8 (18:22):

to go party croshers. So you like how y'all cheot
and smell good? So you alright with me?

Speaker 7 (20:50):
You know what I'm saying, y'all can stay alright with me?

Speaker 1 (20:52):
You okay with me?

Speaker 6 (20:53):
You like how how Nate sold us out twice in
one conversation. I've been on about eighteen other shows. Good
seeing y'all. But I'm going to go make this other money.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
That's the biggest point. It's like, oh, he ain't just
missed the show. He wouldn't other money. So I've never
met at a good double dipper.

Speaker 7 (21:11):
Chris, don't let him put it in voice.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
Yeah, he's still Chris.

Speaker 14 (21:15):
Don't let him put that invoice in for today. Don't
let him do it. That was that was unexpected, that
cruising around like he's walking fast and gliding. He's good
and people walk here.

Speaker 4 (21:28):
Yeah, so Chris, good luck getting those waivers.

Speaker 7 (21:31):
Man, I don't know all right, where were we even
at Christian Parker?

Speaker 6 (21:38):
Yes, we were coming back from break. Yeah, So question
right off the top for you guys before we get
into the kind of the guts of what happened. Is
there any symbolism in it just being shoddy in him?

Speaker 7 (21:51):
Have we seen that?

Speaker 1 (21:52):
Have we seen it ever? We seen it four times
we have. We've seen it.

Speaker 4 (21:55):
Just the coach and the coordinators.

Speaker 1 (21:58):
Don't remember there's zim uh uh uh quinn when there's
like Jerry and Steven. Just let the coach the Jones's
on vacation time right now. Okay, there's no symbolism in
that at all. It's happened on many other occasions, and
I know I know that for a fact. I talked
about it already this morning. It's it's it's several other

(22:21):
occasions where it.

Speaker 6 (22:23):
All right, Kurney, weren't there anything because I know Jess's
gonna have a lot to say, you know, wow, he
before he dominates you.

Speaker 4 (22:30):
Well, anything jump out to you about it.

Speaker 8 (22:31):
We've just heard how impressive he was in the meetings
and you know Blue Schottenheimer and Jones, the family away.
I mean, he just presents himself and I thought we
really saw that in the press conference. I mean it's
a smart dude, you know, and he really, you know,
has a presence. I think that hopefully will relate with
the players because it's certainly related with those that I think.

(22:52):
We're there and listened to him and heard him and
all that.

Speaker 4 (22:55):
All right, good Jesse, what jumped out?

Speaker 1 (22:58):
You need you need me on this wall. You need
you need me on this wall because Kurt Ain't gonna
give you this long drawn up If you act the
rite a page of two, he'll knock it out. But
Kurt Ain't gonna give you five minutes of talk time
when old j Holly, you know, I got you back,
saved you last.

Speaker 4 (23:14):
We got a whole segment and a half.

Speaker 1 (23:17):
Yeah, I was man seven minutes into that thing. Impressed, impressed, He.

Speaker 4 (23:25):
What impressed you in seven minutes.

Speaker 1 (23:27):
He speaks with such a level of confidence and when
you ask questions, he had well thought out, well prepared
answers for every single one of them.

Speaker 4 (23:39):
Is that important to players? Yes, I have a confident coach. Yeah,
and come in and go.

Speaker 1 (23:44):
Here's I'll give you. I'll give you an example. At
the Super Bowl, I run into t J. Huschman Zatto,
former Bengals wide receiver.

Speaker 4 (23:55):
Was there when you were there.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
My rookie year, my rookie year at the Cincinnati Bengals.
My vets were TJ. Hus Mazada, Shadow Chosenko and our
coach was coach Mike Shephard. And we were sitting in
the meeting room and TJ has been there, you know,
four or five years or whatever. It had been established vet.

(24:17):
And TJ's really smart, really really smart. Understands concepts, understood
the offense, ins and outs. Reminded me Patrick Creyton. He
and Patrick Creyton reminded me a lot of each other,
just the way they thought. And here I am as
a rookie sitting in this meeting and this coach is
it here and he's trying to kind of get us
all ready for the week and showing clips in it,

(24:38):
and TJ's sitting back, He's kind of sitting back in
his seat and like, and you can tell you he's getting
a little bit irritated, right, and from what the coach
is saying. And literally I reminded TJ of this, and
I said, I don't know if you remember this. I said,
this is one of my first NFL experiences. You set
up on your seat and you looked back and you said, coach,

(24:59):
if you stopped in this damn film, that I won't
tell the rest of these guys that you don't know
what you're talking about.

Speaker 7 (25:06):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
Real, And before I could finish my sentence, TJ goes,
I remember that. He was, like, man, he didn't know
what the hell he was talking about. Like, man, we
couldn't wait, because you know, he had been he had
become a new wide receiver coach him. They had Hugh
Jackson before that. And again that is relating to the players.

(25:27):
They went from a guy that they related to and
it was able to gain and learn from to a
guy who they didn't relate to and felt like they
weren't learning anything from. And you had the veteran guys
turn them off.

Speaker 8 (25:38):
This was his first year, at the beginning of his
first year coaching.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
I want to say it was like his first year there.
It was my first year there, my first couple of
months there, and this is in season.

Speaker 7 (25:47):
How do you come back and like, literally I'm.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
Sitting there, I'm like, is this what the NFL is?
So I say all that to say to have a
person who exudes confidence in a room full of alpha
males because the men in those seats. Now, as the
defensive coordinator, not everyone is the dominant alpha male, but
it's your defense side of the ball. There's going Everybody

(26:12):
was the best player at their particular place, and a
lot of those guys carry that alpha with them. So
if you can't stand in front of those guys in
a meeting, uh, you know, in a in a in
a team setting, in a personal setting, and exude that
level of confidence that I know exactly what I'm talking
about and everything I say you should listen to, they'll

(26:35):
turn you off. You want to know how guys lose
the locker room, It's that you don't even sound confident
in what you If you don't believe what you're saying,
how in the hell do you think I'm gonna listen
to and believe what you're saying. And so initially coming
off he just he sounded Now this is all it's
all talk, right, you know, even even pimps got a
good talk game, Like pimps make people believe that you know,

(26:58):
you should go make this money for us if you
love us, make me. Yeah, I'm just sorry. So it's talked.
But initially this is all we have, right, So this
is this is the next step of what we have
from Christian Parker home run. He's set up there, thirty
four years old, thirty four years old. Just seven years ago,

(27:22):
he was a coach at HBCU Virginia State or Virginia
I think it's Virginia State, one of the Virginia schools.
I'm sorry if I mis spoke on the name. To
now be sitting in a place of the most recognizable
franchise in all of sports and you're the defensive coordinator

(27:43):
and nothing about him sitting up there Virginia State. Yeah,
he didn't. And we've seen guys who have been in
place and you be like, he don't belong there, he
don't belong there, and why is this guy like he
sat there like I belong in this room. Every question
that you have, I have a well thought out answer.

(28:04):
I am prepared for this job. I am. I am,
I have a He has a level of confidence that
comes with when you know the work has been done,
you know what I mean. Like sometimes you can walk
in there and have the kind of bravado and you're
just like, man, I hope they don't ask that question
because I don't have an answer for I.

Speaker 8 (28:22):
Think he even said something like that, he's he knows
he's prepared.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
Yeah, And so that was a that was the most
impressive thing initially that you just hear him, and then
when he began to break things down, you know, talking about, uh,
you know, hey, listen, we're gonna be we're gonna be multiple, right,
We're gonna be three four, but we're gonna have some
four to three spacing, and we're gonna have some four
two five stuff happening, and we're gonna do you know,
do this and that, and and so you kind of

(28:46):
start peeling back the layers and seeing, you know, what
he what he is as a coach, and some of
the things that he believes in.

Speaker 7 (28:55):
But I liked it.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
I like he you know, he seven minutes in, I
was like, what, okay, Christian, but okay, yo, fellow.

Speaker 7 (29:04):
What percentage of the team do you think listen to that?

Speaker 1 (29:11):
I think that's all of them. Defensively, you think they
all in some sort in some way, shape or form.
Maybe not minute for a minute, but I'm sure these
guys are social media guys. The clips are out there,
the clips, the highlights, the quotes, uh, you know, the
people that they follow that you know, there's people that
they follow, you know, in the locker room, whether that's uh,

(29:31):
that could be you know, no, see, that could be Tommy,
that could be Nick. You know, it could be Coyle,
whoever they follow, you know whatever reporters Clarence or Calvin
or whoever. Everyone's cutting it up and putting it back
out on their on their social media. And so I
want to say, at least defensively, by today, all of

(29:54):
them some way, shape or form some some portions of it.
What do you think same?

Speaker 6 (30:02):
I mean kind of like shoddy, Like I didn't know
a whole lot about this guy until he you know,
got towards the end of see, I feel I don't
know why I feel better about this.

Speaker 7 (30:14):
Guy I do.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
I don't know why this feels. This felt more formal, authentic,
and I don't want to say that shot I don't
want to say that. I didn't feel like Shoty is
not offense. I don't want to I don't want to
come off with me saying that this just have a
This is had a different level of like a little
bit with Shoddy it was kind of like like, oh,

(30:41):
finally I'm here, I got my shot, you know. It
kind of felt.

Speaker 8 (30:44):
Almost Parker's up and coming, He's the new thing.

Speaker 6 (30:48):
You know.

Speaker 1 (30:49):
But it just felt to me it felt more like
for Shoddy and Parker, it was Parker was more like
I'm here, I'm reading less.

Speaker 7 (30:59):
This is that I'm supposed to be here and that
I'm going to be a head coach.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
More like Shoty was like who finally, So it was
I don't know, I don't It was more of I
don't know, I don't, I don't want. I don't want
to say too much more because people like you're hate no,
shot I don't know. They were different to me. They
were they were different to me, and in the levels
of authenticity.

Speaker 6 (31:19):
Yeah, it's almost like Schottenheimer was not like this is
what we're gonna do this is what we're gonna run,
this is how, this is what we're trying to build.
This is you know what we've done at other places.
This is how it was more about, this is how
we'll put this whole thing together.

Speaker 1 (31:35):
And maybe granted because shot he was becoming the head
coach and not a coordinator, but I don't know, you know,
I don't know, I don't know. I just I just
felt this.

Speaker 4 (31:43):
It was more direct.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
More Christians just felt more so of like a kind
of arrogance that I.

Speaker 7 (31:52):
Like, here's my seat, I got here, let's go like
like his felt more like I'm yeah.

Speaker 4 (32:00):
He kind of has that Tomlin swagger.

Speaker 1 (32:02):
Like yeah, like like he didn't feel like like because
sometimes you get a job and you're just like, huh,
I'm so thankful. I want to thank God and I
want to think, Susie, I want to think he's just like, nah,
let's get the work. Yeah, Like I'm supposed to be
right where I'm at. This is not overwhelming to me.
This is not like something that's like shocking. And maybe
it's because it's a name that we haven't heard before

(32:24):
and he's young. He just came off as somebody who
exuded a twenty year NFL coaching confidence, like I've been
around this thing a long time.

Speaker 6 (32:37):
Kind of like you hear people have an old oh soul,
but he's like, yeah, old coaching, Yeah right, Like yeah,
he's done it, like he's done it before.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
He's just seven years in.

Speaker 7 (32:45):
Yeah, all right, let's take our last break. When we
come back, more football talk, hanging with the boys, be

I had a great question coming out of the break
and oh yeah, remember what it was. We didn't get
to talk much about your your super Bowl trip.

Speaker 1 (35:38):
Did you hear Michael Irvin's Super Bowl his Super Bowl experience? No,
I was gonna say, I'm very sillian to his What
what was that? No, Michael, I mean put us on
Michael Irvin. Michael Irvin said he was like, man, I
hope the NFL never ever, ever, ever, ever goes back
to San Francisco.

Speaker 7 (35:58):
Oh yeah, I did hear that?

Speaker 4 (36:00):
Yeah, you were not a big fan, not at all.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
No disrespect to any other people in San Francisco. Shout
out to all the people in the Tenderloins. It's not
what you think it is. It's just a bad area
to be in. The traffic sucked, the drug infestation. It
smelt like a urinal. The stadium is mad, far away
from everything else. The convention center was dope, but it's

(36:26):
super expensive. Shout out to the good people of salce Alito, though,
that's a great place. It's beautiful now, Scelito. It's across
the bridge, right, I don't know about it. We took
the ferry.

Speaker 4 (36:40):
That's where all the Redwood parks and sorry, everything.

Speaker 8 (36:44):
Somewhere up in there.

Speaker 1 (36:45):
It's just my kind of people over there. Yeah, okay,
my kind of my kind of bad boogie over there.

Speaker 7 (36:50):
I like it.

Speaker 12 (36:51):
I like the.

Speaker 1 (36:53):
Tenderloin. No I live, I lived in tender Luin's. I've
I've experienced Tenderloin life. I'm on, I'm on. I went
the sc Leado folks. Now, I like the good old
I like the good old, good air and the air
changes when you get past Alcatraz and the air difference. Yeah,
you go when you get when you get to the

(37:13):
north side. On the north side, when you get to
the other side of Alcatraz on the ferry, it's a
foul stitch. You get to the sauce Alito side.

Speaker 7 (37:23):
Boy, Well, who did you who?

Speaker 1 (37:25):
Uh?

Speaker 7 (37:25):
What were some interviews you had or did you who
did y'all have on the show? Anybody good?

Speaker 6 (37:31):
Anybody blow your socks off? Anybody you were like, Hey,
I've been wanting to meet this person or talk to
this person.

Speaker 1 (37:37):
Fred Water, Oh yeah, I saw Fred. That was your guy, Fred.
For all of you don't know, Fred is my football mcm.
That's my man crush one day. I love if you
do yourself a favor, if you're a football fan, just
go if you have if you have film watching capabilities,
or go to YouTube. It's just a phenomenal football player.
And you know how sometimes because you see it right,

(38:00):
Like we're in the stars. So we go down to
the CAF and you see players walking all through here
and there's some players you're like, you're impressed with, Like
you're just like you know you you happen to walk
by back in my day. You see Tyron Smith with
no shirt on, You're like, yeah, not six foot seven
six p legit, You're like, that's that ain't fair, you know,
and then you see something you're like, well, that's a

(38:23):
bad shape, you know what I mean? Fred just looks
so impressive in street clothes, you like he walked with
an oar of like I'm nice, like I'm I'm this
is what I'm supposed to be doing. Just I was
just like so like seeing seeing Fred Warner was was
pretty cool.

Speaker 12 (38:40):
I was.

Speaker 1 (38:40):
I went to the uh club Shape Shop Club Sha Shape.
Shennon Sharp had a party, and I went to the
Shennon Sharp party. And I don't know if I told
this to you guys on the phone, but talking about
just massive humans, you would have loved them. Big black
man Trip Williams. There's not normals human being?

Speaker 7 (39:01):
Is he a big after? How is he compared the
light Tyring?

Speaker 4 (39:04):
Oh my god, same.

Speaker 1 (39:05):
Size, Tyrn's a little bit taller that joke of man
really like the eighteen wheel awhile, Wow, he stood in
front of me. I couldn't hit the music. He blocked
the me Like that's how big of a human being?
When he walked into the section that we were in,
literally shit like I couldn't see the lights. I couldn't

(39:26):
see the strobe lights. He is a massive human being,
and you I just think to myself, like if he
just like when he put them polls on you and
grab you, there's nothing you're going to be able to do.
I don't care who you are.

Speaker 8 (39:41):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (39:41):
He just was like just the sheer mass of a
human being that he was.

Speaker 6 (39:47):
What's crazy is like on TV in pads, everybody looks
kind of the same unless you're small, unless you're a
swell guy, right like a turp, Yeah, turpin, Then you're like, wow, man,
he's right, But everybody kind of looks the same.

Speaker 7 (40:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (40:03):
I mean, you could be five inches taller than somebody
on the offensive or defensive line and you look kind
of the same. But when you see these guys like
you know, you don't when you see them walking around,
you're like.

Speaker 4 (40:16):
That dude play something.

Speaker 7 (40:17):
He plays some kind of sport like he's yeah, it's
it's it's like, how.

Speaker 1 (40:20):
Do you get that big like a keep to leave.
Came and stand next to me in another another party,
scared for my life. Don't know why? Well yeah, I
mean not that I did nothing to them, but I
just like I think I should move for whatever reason.
I just moved. I just moved.

Speaker 7 (40:37):
Just the aura was like, I just moved.

Speaker 1 (40:39):
I didn't want him to think I was too close.
And he came and stood by me. I was already there.
I just left. I was like, it's no need, it's
no need, it's no need.

Speaker 8 (40:50):
I had that moment like you had there, Williams. I
had that with flows Adams one time you talk, I
swear the lights went dark.

Speaker 1 (40:58):
Yeah, there to do. He was doing something for comedy
or something like that. He was promoting comedy, something like that.

Speaker 7 (41:06):
And yeah, you also teased something that may happen in
the future.

Speaker 1 (41:10):
You can't talk about that about that yet, not yet.

Speaker 7 (41:14):
You let us know, though you won't be like you
won't be like nan depending on.

Speaker 1 (41:18):
How we got to get something. I definitely yeah, you know,
you know I'm coming here with the with scooping. Okay, yeah, yeah,
but it's mhmm yeah, excited, Stay tuned, Stay tuned.

Speaker 7 (41:34):
Anything else on Christian Parker, you guys want to run.

Speaker 1 (41:36):
Through for me one of the things that listening to
Christian Parker And and and I want to pull up
the quote because I think it's I think it's worthy
enough to read it. But and the Cowboys, in my opinion,
don't currently have this on the roster right now. But
I've been on this show multiple times talking about man

(41:57):
telling you the future of the national football is gonna
be that three tight end set, right, and how do
you combat that? And Christian Parker talk about what he
deems as the most important position on the defense. And
most people will say, oh, interior, and he's like, yeah,
we gotta stop the run. You want rush edge, and
oh yeah, you want to be in a rush quarterback.
He said, Nope, to me. In my defense, it's a nickel.

(42:21):
It's that slot corner. And this is his quote. This
is Christian Parker's quote on the importance of the nickel
in his defense. Very important. That guy he's a corner,
sometimes he's a safety, sometimes he's a backer, sometimes he's
a defensive end. When he's blitzing. You want to have

(42:42):
a guy who has natural instincts and ability to feel
the game and play football. He's usually a guy who
if you were playing football on Saturday afternoon in the neighborhood,
he's your first round draft pick just because he feels
the game naturally. That's definitely an important guy to a
good defense.

Speaker 8 (43:01):
Did the Cowboys have that guy on their roster?

Speaker 1 (43:03):
They did, they did thirty years ago, Na Darren Woodson. No,
but no they don't they not currently not as we
sit today.

Speaker 7 (43:10):
Is that would that be a Jordan Lewis type guy
or is he telling bigger.

Speaker 1 (43:15):
Guy too small? But but this is where this is
where the league is going.

Speaker 4 (43:19):
Who are those type of guys in the league right now?

Speaker 1 (43:21):
Derwin James, Kyle Hamilton, Kyle Kyle Hamilton from the Ravens.

Speaker 7 (43:27):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (43:27):
He used Vic Fangio, used Cooper Dejeen in that in
that role at times when they when teams went to
their two wide receiver sets, Cooper Dejeen played outside. When
they played three wide receiver sets, Cooper Gene came that
Nickele you know, he played that that smaller backer or
some of that safety being butzed off the edge, playing
that coverage and stuff like that.

Speaker 6 (43:48):
So if you don't if with it being that big
of a propertis Patrick, with it being that big of
a priority, if you don't go get a stud in
free agency, you gotta draft that, right.

Speaker 1 (44:01):
You do put that because he also said Christian Parker
also talked about his defense being multiple and that means like,
and I did a breakdown on Vic Fangio's who I
believe that this is what Christian Parker is going to
run is cover for a match defense. So you know
it's a quarters defense, but you know, motion changes things,

(44:23):
personnel changes things. So it's a quarters defense, but it
has man and man concepts. It has cover two concepts
in it. So you have to be able to within
the same play be multiple. And hey, we're in quarters
right now. But if they go from two by two
to three by one, now what used to be number
of you know, they go from two by two to
three by one. Well, what used to be number one

(44:44):
is now number two, and now number two goes vertical.
That safety you have to now match that man man
from man, and now that nickel you have to tight end.
You have the flats. You know, you have the flats.
So it's a bunch of different things that come along
with that. Now, gotta have players.

Speaker 6 (44:59):
I was gonna say, do you have you gotta have players?
Do you have any guys that can run that defense?

Speaker 1 (45:05):
And Christian doesn't know, to be honest with you, because
what he sees on film is one thing. But but
football is a is a hands on type of thing.
He has to go outside and see because I could
I could sit there and watch film, but like, you know,
I think, I think he can probably do that, and
then he goes out there on the films. Yeah, and
then you go out there on film you go, oh,

(45:25):
he doesn't have that type of range. He can't go
from being mugged in the A gap and then on
the snap of the ball turn his sprint and get
the the third or get the flat or get the
hook curl.

Speaker 4 (45:35):
When does he find that out training camp?

Speaker 1 (45:37):
Oh, tas Ota is in mini camp.

Speaker 4 (45:41):
So so basically you already have your team when you
fix well, I.

Speaker 1 (45:45):
Mean you Yes, he's come in, he's evaluated some guys,
he's seen some things, but he won't truly know. He
won't truly know until he has an opportunity to get
his hands on it and go or okay, we got one.
This guy can go play this.

Speaker 5 (46:01):
You know.

Speaker 1 (46:01):
Someone asked me this morning, my boy G from Jersey
was like, can Mari slee if I can be converted
to a safety? And I was like, I don't know.
But these are the type of things that you know
that you that you try out and then once you
get from there. You know, you you Christian should try
to draft players that he knows will be able to
do the things that he likes to do and then

(46:24):
try to put the puzzle pieces together. And then what
I don't have, then I try to go and get
when someone else releases them or you know what have you,
because he's gonna need it. He's gonna need it. Wherever
he's went, He's had players, top notch players. He's had
Patricks retained a second, He's had Quenya Minchell and Cooper Dejan.
You know they talking about those guys Pro Bowlers and

(46:45):
all pros. Those are guys that hot draft picks as well.

Speaker 4 (46:48):
So for him and I know, we got to go
here pretty quick.

Speaker 6 (46:51):
But is this kind of is if you're him, are
you looking at this as a okay, this first year
is really.

Speaker 4 (47:02):
Here's where I want to get, But it may take
two years to get there.

Speaker 1 (47:05):
With what I have.

Speaker 7 (47:05):
You and I might have to change my scheme a
little bit to adapt to the players.

Speaker 1 (47:09):
That again he talks about another one of his quotes.
He talks about like he is a player based scheme,
not a scheme based scheme. Right, who do I have
and what are their strengths, my scheme will fit that,
and not that they have to fit into my scheme.
So he said that as well. He's you know, I'm
all about the players. He's like, you know, if what
I see is that we're just better at playing man,

(47:32):
we'll play more man. If I feel like we have
better I discipline it and playability and zone, then we'll
do more zone things and less man. So he's like,
I see the players that I have, what they can learn,
what they can do, how they're able to communicate, how
they're able to change over from one thing to the next,
because that's that's so vitally important, because you know, we

(47:54):
talk a lot about the offenses and how they are
being able to do multiple things and shifts and putting
the best receiver in the slot. Well, part of the
reason why the Cowboys were sitting ducks last year because
they didn't have any multiplicity. You stood up and you
lined up, and that's where you were at, and they
knew that tray Von was gonna be over there, that
guy was gonna be over there, They're gonna be eight
yards off, and they just whooped you up and down
the field because you didn't you did nothing to make

(48:15):
the quarterback have to think. And when you're going up
against these great offensive minds who are giving the quarterback
answers to the test in the play, you got to
be able to trick him and confuse him. On the
defensive end, well, you need players that are gonna be
able to do that physically. Then the mental part of it,
the communication. I told you, guys, we sat in here
all the time. When I hear coaches say we were confused,

(48:39):
we didn't have communication, all that kind of stuff, that
tells me that there are a bunch of players who
don't know what they're doing. You only you don't You
only don't communicate when you you know. I'm gonna tell
if we're in the same hole, and we're in the
same fox hole and I know something about what's happening
to us around us, I'm like, hey, Kurt, listen, hey,

(49:00):
that sounds like we need to do this. But if
I don't know and you don't know, we both just
stay quiet. And and you know, we're in a fox hole.
And and now all of a sudden, we were getting
were getting ammunition dumped on our heads because fired on
because we don't nobody's talked about anything because we didn't know.
So yeah, it's it's it's gonna be a lot. He's
he has his hands full. He has his hands full,

(49:21):
and this is not the place. It's gonna be patient
with them. And it's from the fan base one. You're
fixed either, I mean no, it's not, it's not. But again,
will there be patience? You already missed it. We're talking
about two years in a row now that you hadn't
made the playoffs. So I started creeping around that third year,

(49:43):
and we already talked about a little bit. To schedule.
What it's going to be. How how would the schedule
makers put this thing out? This could be a Hello
fos cats the Cowboys run into Ah.

Speaker 4 (49:53):
There's hope though good, there is there is hope.

Speaker 1 (49:55):
Good, there's hope good first good, first step Good now,
next step and press eat dogs, get real good players.

Speaker 7 (50:02):
We'll see seem feels like they're changing a little bit
around here. We're not as stubborn as we used to be.

Speaker 6 (50:09):
We will see here in about what two to three weeks,
if we're really doing if it's business as usual or
if it's what what was the quote?

Speaker 7 (50:19):
The uh bust the budge the budget.

Speaker 1 (50:22):
Yeah, we'll see.

Speaker 7 (50:23):
Bust the budget. Hey, if it happens, let's can we
please get T shirts made?

Speaker 6 (50:28):
Bust the budget, bust the budget, deal budget or budget busted.

Speaker 1 (50:31):
Bust, go get some dogs. We all busted up, all up.

Speaker 6 (50:35):
All right, Kurt, good seeing you man, Jesse, good seeing you, Nate,
thanks for stopping by. Congratulations Chris, thanks for keeping us
on the air. Josh, thanks for keeping them company. We'll
